-
You guys should waited until after July.
-

-

-
a months straight.
-
Eat hot. But it cools off. You know,
-
It'll little cool off. So when we're still
-
hot, that'll get cool over there.
-
So load is good. Amen.
-
Alright.
-
First Timothy,
1 Timothy 6 chapter mention
-
chapter 6.
-
The name of this message is 3 great
-
reasons
-
to praise the Lord.
-
3 huge reasons
-
or great reasons to praise the Lord,
-
and
-
We've got a few more studies or so,
-
3 or 4 more studies, then we're done
-
with First Timothy,
-
Lord Willing. I'm gonna say, I think so.
-
We'll see what happens.
-
But what is the amazing book we have
-
here.
-
And in first Timothy, chapter 6, we're gonna
1 Timothy 6 chapter mention
-
be covering versus... Week... We've looked at 13
-
and a little verse 12, and
-
in some depth last week, and then we
-
looked at verse 13 a little bit,
-
and even jumped into, you know,
-
13 and then even in 14 a little
-
bit as well. But I didn't... There was
-
a lot of meat on the bone that
-
I left, which I want to go over
-
with you guys. And
-
go in more depth, and then we'll cover
-
more of a solid weight to verse 16.
-
Lord willing.
-
And me, Obeying, if it's as well that
-
we get through that all,
-
but verse 12, and I won't say a
-
whole lot about verse 12, but it'll come
-
up a couple times,
-
but this is this amazing verse,
-
fight the good fight of faith.
-
Let take hold of eternal life,
-
which you were called,
-
to which you were called.
-
And you made a good confession in the
-
presence of many witnesses. Is of course, the
-
apostle Paul is ready to the young pastor
-
Timothy,
-
and he's encouraging him to fight the good
-
fight of faith Ae gh is a Greek
-
word. So where we get ago from, and
-
I'm not gonna go through everything we talked
-
about last week if you didn't catch that
-
that message wanna see what it means to
-
fight the good fight of faith. That would
-
help you because,
-
that was a message that ties into this
-
message. And you'll find out more about fighting
-
the good fight of faith Now even though
-
we looked at this verse,
-
it would... You know, I'd be remiss if
-
I didn't read it again and talk about
-
it because otherwise you're not gonna get the
-
context of the verses that come up, because
-
it's a unit of thought. So Paul is
-
challenging Timothy,
-
charging Timothy. Fight the good fight of faith.
-
It's not just fighting for the sake of
-
fighting.
-
It's fighting for the sake. It's fighting for
-
your faith. Amen. Your personal faith in Lord
-
Jesus Christ. Fighting for the faith, the body
-
of Christian doctrine,
-
and it's a fight.
-
Ago is related to the word ae there.
-
Ago.
-
Ago for the truth.
-
And if you are not ago agonizing for
-
the truth and ago agonizing to stay head
-
steadfast in your faith. You will peter out.
-
You'll be a casualty of spiritual war eventually.
-
It's not about it is very important to
-
put on the full arm of God a
-
amen that you may be able to stand
-
in the evil day.
-
Amen. But when you put on the full
-
arm god understand, there's gonna be some agonizing
-
going on. There's be agonizing times in your
-
life when your flesh wants you to have...
-
Wants to have victory over you.
-
When the world, the flesh in the devil,
-
your 3 main enemies. They're always... We're always
-
at war with the world system, the the
-
lies that are from the pit of hell.
-
You ever noticed the media, especially the mainstream
-
media is just constantly promoting lies.
-
And it's all like, almost like they're locks
-
stepped together,
-
and you just scratch your head, and it's
-
like, the world doesn't really What's going on.
-
Because most of the world's just to see
-
by. They don't know it. Yeah. You know?
-
But it's just so clear to us.
-
And it's like they all get their marching
-
orders from the same demonic realm. They do
-
for the most part.
-
And you can get frustrated or you can
-
say, you know what? I need fight the
-
good fight. I remember why I'm here. I'm
-
here to stand it for the Gospel Jesus
-
Christ.
-
I'm praying Hall would be thy name. The
-
Thy kingdom come By will be done. And
-
I know he's gonna resolve it all with
-
his reign. Amen. So I don't lose heart.
-
So I fight the good fight of faith
-
for the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ.
-
Your personal faith in him.
-
Amen? Enemy attacks you say Lord, I trust
-
help me to keep trusting. Help my trust
-
to grow. Help my trust not to wan.
-
When you're the enemy attacks sound doctrine,
-
the the the body of truth that you
-
see in you read scripture, you know, budget
-
inch. Amen.
-
When you have post modern is attacking the
-
bible. We have liberal professors attacking god's word
-
And and say, no, no. We... Yeah. Yeah.
-
I believe the Bible, but it accepts, you
-
know, gay marriage and gay pastors and we
-
we need to be accepting of all this,
-
and and, you know, and and it's okay
-
to kill little baby in the womb, because,
-
you know, we don't even know when they
-
really are alive. So it's okay. When you
-
start hearing those lies, you need to fight
-
for the truth.
-
But
-
those truths, while those are important
-
applications of truth in and the scripture, You
-
need to take a stand for the fact
-
that Jesus is God. Amen. That was born
-
of a virgin that God the father through
-
Christ is a creator of all things, Amen.
-
That Christ rose again on the third day
-
that were saved by grace through faith and
-
not through keeping the law of Moses. Amen,
-
and that Jesus was not only born of
-
a virgin, but he was born
-
as a as a man, as the God
-
man. A real man. Man, not just an
-
app operation,
-
but he wasn't born from Joseph Mary.
-
Joseph was his
-
step father so to speak. Okay? His adopted
-
father. He was conceived by the holy spirit
-
through the work of the the father in
-
heaven. So we have to stand on these
-
cardinal truths. That the bible is the word
-
of God that there is an eternal hell.
-
You know? We don't wanna compromise on biblical
-
truths. So we have to stand for the
-
faith And it says to take hold of
-
eternal life.
-
The eternal life is something and it's really
-
someone. Jesus is the way the truth and
-
the life. He said I am the resurrection.
-
And the life. First, John chapter 5, the
John 5 chapter mention
-
very end of the chapter their first John
1 John 1 chapter mention
-
chapter 1 the first few verses that he
-
is our eternal life.
-
So we relate... We have eternal life through
-
him.
-
He has a son has the
-
life. He would not have a son does
-
not have the life. He's a life give
-
me vine and we have life as branches
-
who are attached to him through faith. Amen.
-
So we fight the good fight of faith
-
It's a good fight. Praise God because there's
-
a lot of bad fights.
-
But there's a he a fight in the
-
good fight, take hold of eternal life to
-
which you were called talked about what it
-
means to be called last week, and you
-
made a good confession.
-
Tiffany made a good
-
confession in the presence of many witnesses.
-
And we can't be dogma mad and say,
-
it was here there or this place where
-
he made that great confession.
-
Because it could have been a few different
-
circumstances
-
that paul referring in a few different times
-
his life. The most likely place is his
-
good confession was when he confessed his faith
-
public because it says, In the presence of
-
many witnesses was perhaps at his baptism.
-
Okay? That's where we just... The Sunday before
-
I preached that message on 06:12,
-
We just had a baptism where a number
-
of people made a good confession before many,
-
many witnesses.
-
And he wants him to hold on to
-
that good confession wherever first made it publicly.
-
And to fight the good fight and hold
-
on. He says, hold on, take hold of
-
eternal life. We looked at various verses that
-
talk about holding on to the confession. Holding
-
on to the life holding on to Christ.
-
But it gives him reasons to persevere in
-
his faith We looked at some of them
-
last week
-
looks like at verse 13 now. I charge
-
you, he says, I charge you.
-
This is Paul the apostle.
-
Charging
-
young Timothy
-
in the presence, check this out. In the
-
presence of 2 witnesses
-
Woo, you talk about 2 witnesses. You can't
-
get 2 greater witnesses than he he has
-
right here. He's charging Timothy the presence of
-
God.
-
Who gives life to all things and of
-
who,
-
Christ Jesus.
-
So he's charging him. This a charge, Timothy,
-
in the presence of God,
-
the being of God the father, and of
-
the Lord, Jesus Christ.
-
And it's interesting because it's a solemn charge.
-
He's giving Timothy AAA
-
strong a responsibility
-
And by the way, you'll see that this
-
word charges is use of Timothy to Timothy,
-
but Paul tells Timothy to charge us,
-
believers. Believers at ethic
-
Not just them, but all of us, because
-
in second Timothy chapter 2 verse 2, that
-
great disciples at passage, Paul says to Timothy
-
what I've commanded you, you command to other
-
good men
-
that they may command others. Right?
-
So the truth was supposed to be passed
-
down. Just as Jesus told his apostles.
-
To go teaching throughout all the nations making
-
staples all nations commanding them what, Teaching them
-
to observe all things I've commanded you.
-
That's how the gospel will spread throughout the
-
world.
-
Jesus is the master builder. So Paul is
-
charging Timothy in the presence of God. Now
-
this gets his attention, man.
-
This gets his attention because it's like,
-
Timothy, I'm calling God the father.
-
God the son,
-
there witnesses
-
before you at this for a moment
-
to
-
discharge
-
or to follow the charge and your responsibility
-
here.
-
The word charged in the Greek is pair
-
par Para.
-
Okay?
-
I'm sorry. It's Par gallo. Okay? If you're
-
write it down to be PARAGELL0
-
in a trans,
-
par gallo,
-
It's often used of a as a military
-
command, this Greek word. So we see Par
-
gallo in the Greek, you'll see it different
-
ways, but it's often in military context, and
-
I think because Timothy just was just told
-
by Paul too wet, Fight the good fight.
-
Right?
-
That he's using it as, you know, hey,
-
Timothy
-
as
-
the general that Paul is the apostle.
-
In the presence of
-
the commander in chief,
-
not Joe Biden, or Ka kamala harris whoever
-
it is right now. It's probably neither them.
-
But not in the presence of them, but
-
the commander but by the commander and chief
-
god himself. Amen. God the father, God the
-
son.
-
By the way, that word, it's also used
-
of, in the context of what would be,
-
like, a modern subpoena
-
today, that if somebody
-
disregard a subpoena, they'd be in great liability
-
to the courts,
-
end up prison.
-
It's used by Aristotle,
-
even before this was written, of course, Aristotle
-
came before the first century of a physician
-
who prescribe to a a patient, and the
-
patient is obliged to, you know, follow that
-
prescription or
-
fulfill his duty to take the medicine otherwise,
-
he will die.
-
So it's used often
-
in an court... An
-
sense.
-
And here, it's used of Timothy from Paul
-
who's charging him to fight the good fight
-
of faith. To lay hold on eternal life.
-
And it's interesting,
-
pro Para gallo is used 5 times
-
in first Timothy
-
that that was interesting.
-
It's issues at first Timothy 1 3 where
-
Timothy says that he charges,
-
Paul tells Timothy to charge certain men not
-
to teach strange doctrines. At first timothy 04:11
-
to charge and teach these things in first
-
Timothy 5 7, to charge or command these
-
things as well so that they will be
-
a above approach.
-
In first, Timothy 05:13 right here, I charge
-
you in the presence of God and so
-
forth. And first timothy these 06:17 is the
-
few versus later. I charge or instruct those
-
who are rich in this present world, not
-
to be conceded where to fix their hope
-
on the uncertainty of riches, but on god
-
who rich ritual supplies us with all things
-
to enjoy.
-
So 5 times he use it, But a
-
number of times he tells Timothy you used
-
you charge them,
-
and Paul and Timothy is a young pastor.
-
And it's important to understand. If you're wondering
-
sometimes when I'm preaching,
-
how come I'm not just wimp up here
-
and just suggest maybe we should do this.
-
And I tell you what god calls do
-
because if I wanna be a good steward
-
of God's word. If I wanna be a
-
good pastor, you know, I'm told as a
-
pastor to that no 1 despise me. Read
-
that in first Timothy, thing read that to
-
titus and so forth. It despise what I'm
-
doing what I'm teaching in the word, The
-
word of this is the word of God.
-
I mentioned to you that there's about a
-
hundred and 8 versus or so in
-
in James,
-
5 chapters,
-
but there's about 59
-
commands,
-
59
-
commands.
-
Once sister came up to me said, how
-
many commands did you say, are in James,
-
and I said 59 and she said, I'm
-
excited about that. I wanna hear what God
-
commands me to do. How he commands me
-
to live. That bless my heart. You know?
-
That bless my heart. That was that was
-
actually c.
-
You know? And she was... And I bless
-
my heart because she was like, hey, I
-
wanna hear what God's word has to say
-
to me. And I love that when I
-
see people that fear and love the lord,
-
of course. I know Carol loves and fears
-
the lord. But just need to hear expressed
-
that. Some people... I'm just being honest. When
-
I read their... When I let you know,
-
there's 59 commands in James. Some people are
-
like, where's the door.
-
Because I'm here just have a good time
-
or just to get my fire insurance by
-
just showing up, don't get fire insurance. Man
-
I need to have relationship with the Lord
-
of Jesus Christ. That's the only way you
-
have true, you know, eternal fire assurances is
-
through him. But you have to be true
-
to him. Amen. And Jesus said, in John
-
14, I think around there was 15, if
-
you love me. Right?
-
Obey my commandments.
-
And so if we love him, we're going
-
to obey his commands.
-
So para para, a great word there.
-
That Paul uses. Now, it's in the presence
-
of god. Man, in the presence of God.
-
Literally, it means
-
to be positioned in the front of the
-
almighty God.
-
Mean, I'm charging you
-
and you're position Timothy,
-
as I'm charging you is in the presence
-
of the face of the almighty God, and
-
the Lord Jesus Christ.
-
So that is so heavy.
-
If... And he's saying, I'm I'm telling you
-
that a commander chiefs there and and Paul's
-
is reminding it because even though I may
-
not be around where you're at Timothy because
-
you're struggling with these false teachers at Ethic
-
where he in the first few first of
-
Timothy Paul deals with these guys. And that
-
Timothy is supposed to preach the word and
-
second timothy, in season out of season no
-
matter what these guys are teaching how many
-
people's ears that they're tick that you need
-
to still preach the word.
-
Not back off from it, Timothy.
-
Timothy had
-
perhaps because he's young,
-
and maybe some problems with timid,
-
you know,
-
Paul had struggled with Mark.
-
Mark for took him on a missionary
-
trip. He found a... You know, and he
-
got it really upset. There was a just
-
sharp dispute even I mean, Art I should
-
say,
-
it caused some problems.
-
Later on, he found that Mark was useful.
-
You know, Barn is encouraging, you know? And
-
he found out... And he later says him
-
in 1 of the Timothy, that second timothy
-
found that Mark was was actually useful to
-
him. Timothy young. At 1 point, Paul will
-
say everyone's for forsaken me. He he talks
-
about even D, who the scripture say was
-
a servant of the Lord has for forsaken
-
me having loved this present world.
-
God, you have to be dedicated. So Paul,
-
I believe is because of...
-
Keep in mind. It's not so easy to
-
be a Christian and Paul's circumstances,
-
Timothy
-
Right? Marx, D and so forth. Demi had
-
the lumen of the world, but Paul had
-
the. It's not that there was a persecution
-
as well. Sometimes there's things, but Paul, it
-
tells Timothy and Second Timothy 1 7
-
that God has not given us a spirit
-
of fear, but of power and of love
-
out of a sound mind. Amen?
-
So he is concerned that Timothy could fear
-
the false teachers
-
that Timothy could fear,
-
the persecution that could arise. That Timothy could
-
succumb to the s deductions of the world.
-
The s deductions say he's struggling as a
-
young pastor to make ends meet to to
-
to, you know, suck up to the world
-
and and and Rebel against his calling. And
-
Paul knew that god had placed a call
-
on Timothy life.
-
Paul knew how serious it would be to
-
turn from that call. That's why Paul is
-
woe to me if I don't preach the
-
gospel. Amen. So he's telling Timothy,
-
that he's used to fight the good fight.
-
He said, lay hold on eternal life. Amen.
-
He's supposed to remember that he gets this
-
charge and the presence of almighty God.
-
Gets this charge in the presence of the
-
Lord, Jesus Christ.
-
And we need to keep that in mind
-
you guys.
-
Because Timothy to remember when he's serving the
-
Lord, there at ethic and things get hot,
-
that God is witnessing him. That God is
-
watching every move and every thought he has.
-
Right? And we need to do that as
-
well. As believers, amen?
-
Wherever you're at, man, you need to recognize
-
God is there.
-
And if if you're seeking him and you
-
love him praise lord your his child.
-
If you're rebellion to him,
-
you're in huge trouble,
-
you do not wanna be in rebellion to
-
God.
-
That's the scripture say in that context, Bible
-
says to you know, worship him. Right? And
-
and in reverence and and fear for our
-
God is a consuming fire.
-
We need to make sure that we are
-
right with God. And it's interesting. What does
-
he say next?
-
What does you say next? He says, who
-
gives life to all things. Amen? Sir
-
So Timothy is being charged the prince of
-
God, the father, God the son as well.
-
Their witnesses
-
It's pretty solemn. What Paul's is doing there.
-
But he but now he encourages him
-
that he gives life to all things, Amen.
-
He's making He's letting Timothy know, God gives
-
you life, Timothy. In fact, he gives life
-
to all things. And that's encouraging because Timothy
-
is supposed to remember
-
who it is it gives life.
-
When the attic antichrist were shipped in the
-
end times,
-
people say who can make where with him.
-
Right?
-
Hit we lo enough heads left and right.
-
It'll be important at that time to remember
-
that God gives life to all things.
-
Oh, wait a minute. Man?
-
You know, they'll breathe life into an image
-
of the beast.
-
Maybe it's
-
Ai, you know?
-
And then Chris will maybe have a promise
-
of giving life too.
-
In this mark, man, look, man, we're in
-
this kingdom we can buy ourselves, no, man.
-
Know, that christ so live for he don't
-
even rain for 42 months. Right?
-
And then you're destroyed who follow them, even
-
before that you get a g sore
-
buying is selling. Now you got this really
-
painful
-
or grow test disease,
-
and you yank ain't can last very long.
-
But God is the 1 who gives life
-
to all things.
-
And this is important because Emperor worship was
-
rife at Ethic where Timothy was at.
-
It's important to understand bible background to a
-
degree when you're going through the text of
-
scripture, and
-
it was dangerous at certain times in certain
-
provinces in certain cities
-
in the roman empire to
-
you know,
-
give credence to
-
another God that you consider supreme to the
-
Emperor
-
or to Caesar,
-
who would be the emperor who's... And he
-
was worship everywhere. Yes.
-
Az zeus was considered the highest god, but
-
he was personified often
-
the Caesars were considered, you know, under the
-
divine right, whether it was a Roman Caesar
-
or the the Greek leader
-
with Romans, you know, they had They they
-
they just switched the names of their god's
-
off and so forth. But Caesar, that was
-
the 1 that you had to fear, and
-
I've told you before.
-
Last time, He's talking about the good confession
-
that Timothy made. Right?
-
And I'm telling you right now.
-
And I tried to try to keep keep
-
your brain around this when you read the
-
holy scripture
-
that when the bible talks about confessing Jesus
-
Lord,
-
people just didn't go around easily saint, Jesus
-
Lord, because you could lose your head.
-
The bible says in Romans chapter 10 versus
Romans 10 chapter mention
-
9 and 10. If we confess the Lord
-
Jesus, Christ with our mouths.
-
And we believe in our hearts that God
-
raised for the dead, we will be saved.
-
When you're confessing Jesus Christ as your Lord,
-
you confess him as Lord with your mouth.
-
You're cove confessing him Lord means master.
-
You're saying he is my master.
-
And you're saying I'm following him. No matter
-
what he says, And if it contradicts what
-
Caesar says, and what the roman government says,
-
I'm doing what Jesus says, amen.
-
And the room say, no nope, you can't
-
come in here and preach the gospel here.
-
Let's whip these guys, and Peter says better
-
obey God than men.
-
Jewish and Roman persecution throughout the book of
-
acts.
-
You know, but all the disciples for the
-
most part, were Jewish, believers
-
who were confessing Jesus as a messiah. And
-
I mentioned, it's... It was treason
-
at times.
-
Many of the Roman soldiers
-
could lose their lives as a roman soldier,
-
you'd have to burn since to caesar, but
-
as a Christian, you couldn't do that.
-
You'd have to either,
-
you know, they'd have to look the other
-
way because you're not doing it or you
-
can lose your head
-
or you just You know, it was it
-
was really tough
-
and out have time to get into it,
-
but I think it's important in this context.
-
When I look at this, It's very powerful,
-
especially with regard to certain we're gonna read
-
to keep this in mind.
-
And I want you to right now keep
-
it in mind for your own life. Because
-
the time may come,
-
where you are told that you cannot talk
-
about Jesus. You cannot confess him as your
-
lord.
-
It's in that country in many countries right
-
now. Can't go around telling people about Jesus.
-
I've tried to tell you before New Zealand,
-
Australia, United States America.
-
These are like, you know, anomalies.
-
These are countries that haven't had Christian persecution.
-
You go out through most countries in the
-
world where that Christian Gospel is there's been
-
a lot of persecution or some excuse to
-
1 degree or another.
-
So I've tried to prepare you because I
-
know what the scriptures say about how all
-
the nations
-
will worship the beast it says every nation
-
people and tongue will worship him, and that
-
may or may not happen our lifetime. But
-
I want you to be ready, and I
-
want to make your children ready because it's
-
gonna happen in someone's lifetime.
-
Hey, amen, it's coming.
-
But guess what? Whether it happens on lifetime
-
or or not. We didn't make sure Jesus
-
is truly our lord right now.
-
Because how many Christians have been killed, put
-
to death or persecuted
-
because name of Jesus prior to this time
-
long before the antichrist came, it's happened all
-
over the place.
-
But you can get lazy and say yeah,
-
Confess jesus Lord. But guess what? Because you're
-
in an a affluent world where there's not
-
a lot of persecution, we have to be
-
very, very careful of a fluent.
-
And temptation
-
And that's 1 thing that Paul deals with
-
Timothy in regard to
-
temptation, which is couple versus previously
-
that we've already looked at a little bit,
-
but they're gonna play into the verses that
-
we're talking about coming up as well because
-
what did Paul say?
-
Titus 01:16.
-
Remember this? Finish it with me if you're
-
remembered. Paul says of these people that aren't
-
really following Jesus. He says, they profess to
-
know him, but what?
-
Denying by their works.
-
They deny him.
-
So you can deny Christ more than just
-
by just saying, I don't believe in Jesus.
-
You wanna confess him
-
And you know what? That's why it's important
-
to pray and crowd to god
-
and and seek the father
-
because it says no 1 can say Jesus
-
Lord, but by the holy spirit, amen.
-
So it's holy spirit it inspires us to
-
say that Jesus Lord, amen.
-
And if you can sincerely say Jesus is
-
Lord, and mean it from your heart. That's
-
by the holy spirit. Have confidence in that.
-
That's what the scriptures say.
-
That's exciting, amen. You want some assurance to
-
salvation. Just say with sincerely yes, Jesus is
-
Lord. That he's your Lord.
-
This holy spirit that gives us function that
-
gives us empowerment that gives us the power
-
to confess Christ's name and that's why it's
-
important to cold fast to your confession and
-
never turn back.
-
Now, he gives life to all things. The
-
word life there,
-
is it's it's a couple words there in
-
the Greek of compound words. It's it's a
-
zoo.
-
K?
-
Zoo.
-
And that means Zoo, we eat the word
-
Zoo from that word... That first word, Zoo,
-
you know, creatures,
-
all all these creatures, Zoo Ag,
-
life, living,
-
He gives life to all the creatures, all
-
things. He's telling Timothy, god is the 1
-
that gives life. Don't freak out. Don't fear
-
He's the 1 that gives life.
-
If you lose your life, Timothy in your
-
ministry,
-
God is able to raise you back up
-
again.
-
Amen.
-
There's what we call the resurrection of the
-
just. I have a,
-
a neat quote from a
-
a great west comment, Adam Clark said this.
-
God, who is a fountain of life
-
and who is the resurrection
-
and who will raise the up at the
-
last day to a life of in glory
-
if thou be faithful in the death,
-
and should thy life fall a sacrifice to
-
the performance of thy duty?
-
All will be safe
-
for thy life is hid with Christ in
-
God.
-
Yeah. That's from cl. And when he is
-
thy life shall appear, then
-
shall... Thou also appear with him in glory.
-
That's just beautiful. So keep my God is
-
the 1 that gives life, and we're gonna
-
be resurrected. That's good news. Amen. Look at
-
chapter 6 verse 13, the next part.
-
He says Not only is god the father
-
of the witness, but we've talked about this
-
briefly as well, and of Christ Jesus. He's
-
a witness, Timothy,
-
who what?
-
Testified the good confession confession before who
-
punches pilot. We talked about this last week
-
a little bit. So he's telling Timothy
-
Endure, persevere in your faith, fight the good
-
fight of faith, they journal life, it gives
-
them incentives as to why.
-
Remember you're confession before many witnesses, and I
-
I charge you guys in the name of
-
the Lord Jesus Christ. And in the president
-
of the father,
-
remember your confession that you have made publicly
-
before others.
-
That Jesus Christ your Lord. Amen.
-
And be thankful that you able to make
-
that confession, and you've made that confession and
-
continue to make it. But don't just think
-
about that confession and praise God for that
-
confession, but you made a confession. Do not
-
tarnish the name of Jesus.
-
Do not cause gentile towels or pagan to
-
spit on the name of Jesus.
-
Because of your reno of Christ or because
-
of wicked behavior amen.
-
Don't bring bla upon his name. That's... It's
-
a fearful thing to fall in the hands
-
of the mighty God. Almighty got he's consuming
-
fire, but I also keep this in mind.
-
Remember the confession that Jesus made before pilot.
-
And I mentioned to you last week that
-
Jesus said he could have called 12 legions
-
of angels to told them right? Called 12
-
legions of angels. Right now,
-
He didn't have to go to the cross.
-
He could've have said to the father and
-
the internal counsel and the eternity past.
-
Father son Holy spirit that, you know,
-
when I say could have this is, you
-
know, hypothetical because that's was the heart of
-
God. So in a sense, no. Because God
-
is love. But he did have it prerogative
-
because we also believe he's free amen. And
-
we don't believe he died for us by
-
way of necessity
-
as far as something that was necessary in
-
his own being
-
because... Well, wait a minute. Because he's love,
-
and he and he loves He's so much.
-
He well, guess what. But, you know, he
-
created us, So he's gonna wanna redeem us,
-
but he never had... He didn't have to
-
create us. Amen.
-
He could've created a bunch of robots Came
-
amen.
-
So he never
-
had to die for. The only time he
-
has to die for us is when... I
-
mean, when he becomes a man,
-
Now he's gotta fulfill the scriptures and he
-
says, the son man what must be lifted
-
up. Just like you must be born again.
-
If where to be saved, he's gonna have
-
to be lifted up. A amen?
-
He's gonna have to die if he wants
-
to save us, and you're gonna have be
-
born again. Amen. So... But in the presence
-
of I love this.
-
I love this.
-
And of Christ Jesus who testified the good
-
confession Jesus gave a good confession before po
-
pilot. They were good their carlos
-
He translated in different ways, noble confession, good
-
confession. 1 translation has fearless witnessed to the
-
truth. Another translation gave me fearless testimony.
-
And that's coming of course, from John 18
-
37 when pilot says, you are king then,
-
said pilot.
-
She's answered
-
You say that I'm a king.
-
In fact, the reason I was born and
-
came into the world is the testify of
-
the truth.
-
Everyone who sides with the truth listens to
-
me. Yes. It's pilot on the game.
-
That's a good confession. This is a crazy
-
thing
-
My point is is that God never had
-
to become a man. He didn't have to
-
give this confession.
-
He did it for us.
-
Not for himself. It's for his glory ultimately,
-
but it's for you're good. Amen. He'd be
-
glorified with you or without you, amen. He
-
doesn't need us.
-
But guess what we need. We need him.
-
Amen. And we don't have him if we
-
don't hold on... If we don't fight a
-
good fight and hold on to eternal life.
-
If we don't hold on to our confession.
-
If we don't continue to make a good
-
confession. So we look to Jesus.
-
What was Jesus confession that he's the king.
-
Amen?
-
Well, it's our confession the same that Jesus
-
is a king. That's our confession. Amen. So
-
hold faster confession.
-
Let's be an on fire church. Amen.
-
In the last days, when everybody... When so
-
many are becoming pans these, you know, and
-
and just, you know, just going just
-
sticking their finger there and I'm going with
-
whatever the world's is going. Don't do it.
-
Don't do it. Don't go that route. Guys,
-
You'll regret it. Big time.
-
Wow.
-
So he says I charge you in the
-
presence of God. Right? Presence of Jesus as
-
well. What's the charge?
-
What's he charging him? We should know what
-
the charges is? Shouldn't we?
-
Well, look at here's charge verse 14?
-
That you keep the command
-
without staying
-
that you keep
-
not that you just do the command at
-
1 time. But you keep the command
-
without stain or rep approach
-
until what?
-
The appearing of our lord Jesus Christ.
-
So the the the charge...
-
The military charge for Timothy that he's supposed
-
to give us is that he keeps a
-
command without staying. K?
-
Without rep approach until
-
until the appear of the lord Jesus Christ.
-
Now that helps a little bit but wait
-
a minute. Yeah. Okay. The charges to keep
-
the command, put then in the questions, beg
-
the question. What's the command? Right?
-
What's the command?
-
Well, back up. Gotta go back. That's why
-
I said we need verse 12. Context actually
-
back up to verse
-
11.
-
And before you read verse 11, keep in
-
mind the context, so we understand what the
-
command is, the... The context is
-
The verses that preceded versus 5 through 10,
-
where walk warns about these false teachers now
-
how they teach that god is a means
-
of financial gain.
-
Name and claimant it, folks,
-
bla it and grab it. You know, God
-
wants you to be rich in this world
-
and he wants you to to get sick
-
and be a king's skin. And and where
-
they get the focus on you and us
-
and as, you know, 1 popular
-
Tv preacher what was popular Tv preacher in
-
the nation, Writes a book called. Live your
-
best life now. You know? It's not about
-
eternal life. It's live your life best life
-
now.
-
That's Joel. Okay? I don't have to always
-
say the names, but pete saying, why isn't
-
he saying the name? Okay. I say it
-
enough, you know, Those kind of things. Those
-
are sad things. And then he warns them
-
that those who will seek to be rich
-
in this world. If you live for riches,
-
he talks about plunging yourself in a ruin
-
and instruction.
-
And many pierce themselves with many hurts and
-
have wandered away from the faith. So he
-
warns them, don't live for riches.
-
Don't live for riches. Okay?
-
It it's destructive.
-
And... But so understand the context. So before
-
you get verse 11, Paul's giving him that
-
instruction.
-
I'm tempted to read all this verse again,
-
but I'd... But I'm just... But I've gotta
-
get to the newer.
-
But I I want understand the context. So
-
the command
-
is this, in light of him telling them,
-
Timothy and warning them that we brought nothing
-
in the world. We'll bring nothing out of
-
the world not to live for the things
-
this world. In light of warning to him
-
that way.
-
He says in verse 11, but what?
-
But flee
-
these things.
-
Flee these things what? The desire to be
-
a rich person. Yeah. Desire to be richer,
-
and and by the way, guys, we're filthy
-
rich compared to most of the world. This
-
just being honest.
-
K?
-
Well, wait a minute. He said, you... Contradicts
-
20 we're we're living... No. Guess what we're
-
in a a affluent society.
-
Okay?
-
We're so rich.
-
You know, the Emperor had the most incredible
-
transportation
-
But if you have a car right now,
-
your transportation blows his away.
-
Right? I remember Brian Bean showed with me
-
1 time. He was reading something about
-
how that Roman Emperor would sometimes, you know,
-
want an icy.
-
Not how he put it, but he'd go
-
all the way to the swiss alps
-
not him, but people would take horses in
-
have horses station in different areas. So a
-
guy could run a horse to death, they
-
get on the next horse.
-
Then get on another horse. And get some
-
ice for the king and bring it back
-
horse to horse to horse.
-
Guess what? You just go to the convenience
-
store go 07:11. I... And you got flavored
-
ice. Probably takes way better than what the
-
king had
-
with Amp had. Right? We're filthy rich.
-
Compared to most people in the world you
-
are as well.
-
I'm not condemning you. This... We're born into
-
an affluent society. But what do we live
-
for? Amen?
-
Or... And and guess what happens? It's never
-
enough. I always need more. Always need more.
-
Don't be a leech.
-
Okay?
-
And
-
he gives instruction a little bit later versus
-
we're going to verse 16 today. We're gonna
-
finish at verse 16. Lord William. Verse 17,
-
18 and 19, instruct
-
Versus versus 10 through
-
15, he warns about the false teachers who
-
teach this false doctrine to be rich. And
-
then he warns about what it is like
-
for those
-
the danger to want to be rich, but
-
versus 17,
-
18 and 19 he warns, those who are
-
rich. Okay?
-
And now I know relative to our society.
-
There's people that are far richer than probably
-
all here, you know?
-
Which is true,
-
but we have to be careful
-
that that we keep 2 things in mind.
-
We shouldn't
-
live for money number 1. And number 2,
-
we need to be wise and
-
loving and caring and compassionate with the resources
-
that god has given us as servants of
-
God amen. And that's the instruction that Paul
-
will give
-
in versus 17 8 to 19, which we
-
don't have time to get into. But understand
-
this, the context is, after he warns about
-
living for to be rich. In that context,
-
he says what, verse 11. That's where verse
-
11 appears. And this is the command.
-
This command this the charge that he gives
-
Timothy and the presence of of God the
-
father and God son.
-
But flee from these things.
-
Don't be running after the riches, flee from
-
these things, you man of God. The only
-
time man of God is found in the
-
new testament, by the way.
-
Timothy called the Man of god. And it's
-
reserved to saying, do you wanna be a
-
man of God you flee from those things.
-
Flee from these things, you man of God
-
and what?
-
Pursue what?
-
Now you're fleeing, but you're not just fleeing
-
away from something you're
-
pursuing, you're fleeing something, but you're also following
-
something else.
-
You're following after you're pursuing righteousness.
-
God,
-
faith,
-
love,
-
perseverance
-
and gentleness.
-
These things that riches can't buy.
-
But these things with which
-
without you are empty.
-
If you don't have righteousness,
-
god,
-
you don't have faith. Possibly if you don't
-
have love, you're wed.
-
You're nothing, perseverance and gentleness,
-
gentleness fruit of the spirit. If the the
-
lost world system doesn't have true love. They
-
don't have the Ag
-
or the ag agave love of God and
-
they're empty.
-
So flee these things, you man have God
-
and pursue righteousness god in his faith love
-
and perseverance and gentleness. And then what? What's
-
the next word?
-
This is part of the command. This is
-
part of the charge, fight the good fight.
-
There it is. A faith. Amen. So you
-
could have 3 f's here. Flee,
-
follow and fight. Here's the command, guys. Flee,
-
right? Flee, try to pursue riches. Don't do
-
that.
-
Follow after righteousness and the things he's mentioned
-
there and fight the good fight of faith
-
they hold on eternal life. Amen,
-
This is the command. This is a charge.
-
So in your life, brothers and sisters,
-
you should actively keep in mind throughout your
-
christian walk that I need to flee the
-
temptation.
-
To be rich.
-
I need to pursue,
-
follow after righteousness and and faith and love
-
and, you know, perseverance god is, all these
-
things he mentions here. Gentleness.
-
And said very, very important that we get
-
this. In fact, you know a lot of
-
people have favorite portion of scripture, know, it's
-
portion of the scripture sometimes that you just
-
go to. Right?
-
You just go to,
-
some some of you open up the book
-
of psalms. Right? You Some of you like
-
to go to the proverbs, You know, Mark
-
Hunter, you know, lisa's brother,
-
comes Sundays. He lives out of towns, but
-
but he comes most Sundays.
-
And sometimes mid week. He's always reading proverbs.
-
Oh, and an over again. He loves problems.
-
He reads a lot about the scripture too,
-
but he loves prove.
-
That's awesome.
-
Some love to focus on those 2 books,
-
some love to focus. You know what? A
-
focus should be for your Christian walk at
-
times. If you wanna make sure you keep
-
your walk right with God right here in
-
this portion of scripture.
-
It's Wise Counsel.
-
It's a very powerful. If poor of scripture
-
to keep our focus right.
-
What we should be fleeing from, what we're
-
supposed to be pursuing and following
-
and how we're supposed to be fighting the
-
good fight amen. It's a very, very important
-
passage of scripture. I love this. So... But
-
he but it's interesting.
-
So he tells him what the flee from
-
tells them what to follow, tells me how
-
to fight the good fight and lay hold
-
on nature eternal life. This is the command.
-
This is the the charge for Timothy,
-
And guess what? Think out revolutionary that is.
-
If you truly are fleeing,
-
living for the material world.
-
Praise the Lord the... We're gonna talk about,
-
next time we get together because either instruct
-
those who are rich in this world.
-
Anybody who has things, material things,
-
that he god gives gets has given us
-
all things to enjoy. So I'm not preaching
-
pure as
-
and God wants to have anything, we should
-
all leave in live in tents and and
-
find out how somewhere and or whatever, or
-
no. I'm not talking like that. Okay? About
-
That's the other... That's the other extreme. I'm
-
not talking about that. I'm talking about not
-
living for things, but living for Jesus. Seeking
-
first, the king of God. And his righteousness.
-
Hey men, are you with me? Sir Seek
-
first kindergarten got his races all these things
-
about it to you? Woo, he's not a
-
against the things. Seek for his kingdom of
-
God and as righteousness and all these things
-
will be added to you. He wants to
-
bless you with things. In fact, he tells,
-
instruct those that are rich in this world
-
versus 17 18 19.
-
To share their wealth with others and God's
-
give us all things to enjoy. Sir. So
-
he does wanna bless you. So I'm not
-
trying to be, like, holy, man, if if
-
you have anything, you should you should feel
-
guilty. No. But I'm saying if you live
-
for those things, you don't live for Jesus,
-
you ought to feel guilty. Sir You ought
-
to confess that and repent of that and
-
make sure you're putting Jesus first. Amen.
-
Amen. Are you with me tonight? Yes, sir.
-
Praise the Lord. Or some you saying, I
-
wish you would preach like this. No. That's
-
why you come here, Amen. We get into
-
the word. You know, We love the Lord
-
we wanna do his well, Lord. Help us
-
to wanna do your will more and where
-
we praise your name you are so good,
-
Lord.
-
So,
-
then he says in verse 12,
-
that the middle of verse 12 because that
-
we kinda cut it off the middle of
-
verse 12,
-
b, 12 b will call it. And you
-
made a good confession in the presence of
-
many witnesses. I charge you the presence of
-
God who gives life to all things and
-
and of Christ Jesus who testified the good
-
confession before conscious pilot. Right?
-
And that it's... In that context that he
-
says you keep the command,
-
without saying or approach. So that's the command,
-
guys.
-
Man, if you can say, hey, man, this
-
is an important charge that Lord's giving me.
-
Don't live for this world system, live for
-
Jesus. Amen, and fight the good fight. Your
-
your Christian Blanc be in great shape. It's
-
not that complicated.
-
Are you fighting a good fight? First of
-
all, you fleeing those things? Or you're fleeing
-
after those things?
-
Second of all, are you pursuing
-
righteousness. Right? God.
-
Right? Faith and love, and you know, gentleness,
-
are you pursuing these things?
-
It's very, very important. And notice what he
-
says at the end of verse 14,
-
that you keep the command with without stain
-
or rep approach until what.
-
Until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.
-
Until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.
-
Now this is amazing because he's emphasized our
-
focus should be the lord's return
-
now, Lord's return is it just an event,
-
it's the event in the future because everything
-
flows to him.
-
At the end, and every knee confess every
-
tongue confess. Every knee bowser say every tongue...
-
And the every knee confess the little knee.
-
Praise jesus. You know, but every knee will
-
confess every tongue, every knee will bow. Every
-
tongue will confess. I didn't it again.
-
That he is Lord Of, and that's everybody
-
on earth, you know, in heaven under the
-
earth everywhere. Everyone's confess. Everything's flowing to the
-
throne guys,
-
and everything's gonna be transformed.
-
You be with him,
-
away from him
-
forever and ever.
-
So that's what we're looking forward to. And
-
this command about his appearing whether you're alive
-
or dead. It matters because guess what. If
-
you're dead, the dead Chris arrives first, they're
-
looking forward to a companies as well. Guys,
-
they're gonna they're gonna come with him with
-
the armies they heaven And when we caught
-
beat them there, then they're gonna come and
-
rain. So you're always should be looking for
-
the second covenant of Christ, whether you are
-
alive or whether you're dead. Think about it
-
that way. It's pretty heavy. When we think
-
about like that.
-
Now now, it's quite interesting because this reminds
-
me
-
of
-
this this word appearing here and the context
-
of living a holy life and not living
-
for the world reminds me of a warning
-
in first Peter,
1 Peter 3 chapter mention
-
chapter 3.
-
In first, Peter chapter 3 verse 17,
-
he's also telling him telling them to to
-
not let the world suck him in to
-
look forward to the lord's return and to
-
live pure in holy lives. In verse 13
-
he says, therefore, Peter says, prepare your minds
-
for action.
-
Keep sober and spirit.
-
Keep sober and spirit fix your hope completely
-
on the grace to be brought to you
-
at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient
-
children do not be conform to the former
-
lust, which were yours in your ignorance. In
-
other words, don't go after those things, flee
-
those former less,
-
verse 15, but like the the 1 like
-
the holy 1 who called you. Be holy
-
yourselves also in all your behavior because it
-
is written, you shall be holy for I
-
am holy.
-
If you address
-
as father, the 1 you who partially judges.
-
Remember he's watching everything. He's the witness, According
-
to each one's work, conduct yourselves, in the
-
in fear during the time of your stay
-
on earth, conduct yourselves in the fear of
-
god while you're on Earth,
-
that sounds a lot like, you know, I
-
charge you the presence of God. Amen.
-
Out of the Lord Jesus Christ. He's gonna
-
judge us, and we need to... We
-
your life and my life should be revolutionized
-
by the fear of god, the fact that
-
we're gonna stand before the 1 who judges
-
all things. Amen. Now we should be grateful
-
and praise god and say thank you, jesus
-
for dying for my sins. I'm saved.
-
Amen, But we're also still gonna still stand
-
you for the judgment seat of Christ. A
-
give an account for our lives. So it's
-
live lives that are worthy of our calling
-
as we're commanded. And we wanna hear, we
-
we will hear well done good faithful servant.
-
You're faithful of the, you know, small amount
-
of things. Now you'll be ruler of many
-
enter into the the the the joy of
-
your Lord. We're looking forward to that Amen.
-
Now it's interesting. Notice the translation, and I
-
don't care what you have for the most
-
part, I think they probably all use the
-
same word appearing there.
-
Appearing.
-
Right?
-
So it's important that you get this is
-
that
-
he says,
-
that you to keep the command
-
without staying or approach until the appearing of
-
our Lord, Jesus Christ.
-
That's interesting that he uses that word appearing
-
because the word appearing there
-
is a greek word that's not used often
-
of Jesus is coming, let's it's used a
-
few times, in the pastor roll epi,
-
to use more than once. It's used
-
in Second thessalonians it's 2 8 of Christ
-
coming. But it's a it's an interesting
-
Greek word. It's a pi... P.
-
K?
-
Or epi Fe. Cam I'm I'm I'm connect...
-
I'm, I'm
-
putting the English word with the Greek word
-
and pronouncing it wrong, but it's a...
-
It's a Pi.
-
Okay. Ep,
-
like Epi epicenter, epi,
-
Ep, in the word, ep
-
Fe.
-
Okay? Or what English would you think comes
-
from Epi?
-
What's that?
-
Epiphany.
-
Epiphany.
-
Epi
-
is the word from which we get epiphany,
-
Another greek word. That's used of the coming
-
more often is par.
-
Par means speaks of his presence is coming,
-
the second coming.
-
Of Jesus,
-
another Greek word speaking of his coming is
-
apocalypse.
-
K? The word
-
Per is AAA word that speaks of come
-
in. Apocalypse
-
speaks of unveiling
-
like the apocalypse, but it's use of his
-
coming. The apocalypse
-
with the word apocalypse from it. Apocalypse is
-
also
-
unveiling, like, lifting the curtain, taking the lid
-
off, unveiling
-
But,
-
ep Fe,
-
the epiphany of Christ, the epi
-
has to do with
-
Jesus appearing.
-
Epiphany. And it's a very interesting Greek word.
-
It's a supernatural
-
manifestation of divine reality, a moment of great
-
or sudden revelation when it's used for somebody
-
of a revelation that God truly gives you
-
from his word by his spirit,
-
so it's interesting,
-
but it speaks of,
-
of his appearing,
-
his little appearing.
-
Every eye will what.
-
See him. And they also which pierce all
-
are well because we used.
-
Gonna see him. Jesus says I'm not coming
-
secretly.
-
Right?
-
But he says what?
-
When I come back, it won't be like
-
the secret rapture. He says if they say,
-
it's... I'm secret, don't believe him. He said,
-
I come back, be like lightning shining for
-
these east to the west. You can't miss
-
it. Hey, amen. This is a glorious appearing
-
that we long for. In Titus chapter 2
-
verse 11, we read for the grace of
-
God has appeared. Bringing salvation to all men,
-
instructing us to deny and god and worldly
-
desires and to live sen righteous godly in
-
this present world. Looking for the blessed hope
-
and the appearing of our the glory of
-
our Great God and savior Christ Jesus, who
-
gave himself for us to redeem us from
-
every law deed, and a purify for himself
-
a people for his own possession, Zealous for
-
good deeds. Isn't that awesome?
-
So
-
we're looking forward for the blessed hope.
-
Some people like, oh, man, There's... Give you
-
a blessed hope and you know, the church
-
got shaken recently is... I can't tell you
-
how many of you and other people outside
-
the church text me after,
-
you you know, this... What something what's the
-
guy's name.
-
He was on Tucker Carlson, a country artist,
-
John Rich. And they go. Everybody's he's like,
-
did you see him? He was on Tucker
-
Carlson, and he started reading from the scripture
-
saying, we're not... We're gonna go through the
-
tribulation. A lot of pre trevor is gonna
-
get upset with me with saying this, but
-
it's true. And Tucker was like, I didn't
-
even heard about what we're gonna go through
-
and Tucker was, I just read the bible
-
last year. And he reads him second thessalonians
-
his chapter 2. You know, first few verses
-
that don't be deceived. Right?
-
What's that?
-
Fine. So. He did pick up on buying
-
and selling.
-
Yeah.
-
Yeah. Tucker was kinda startled. I never read
-
that. And almost it's here.
-
Yeah. Well, he said he didn't he didn't
-
understand it. You know? Yeah. Yeah. I didn't
-
understand it. So... And and then guess what?
-
The Internet went wild. You know?
-
I can't believe this guys guy said when
-
you go through the tribulation. Takes a country
-
artist to say this to people. It's like,
-
come on, man. So this kind of a
-
trip. You know? So we're looking for not
-
a secret rapture. We're looking for his glorious
-
appearing Ama amen.
-
Every I will see him, like Late Shining
-
for the east to west. Jesus said in
-
Matthew 25 31 but when the son comes
-
in his glory.
-
And all the angels with him, then he
-
will sit on his glorious thrown. It's gonna
-
be not this little squeaky thing that happens
-
that people miss.
-
It's gonna be happy with a Trumpet man,
-
and with a roar. Right? The voice of
-
the arch angel. Right? Every Eye will see
-
him. It's gonna be a glorious glorious
-
appearing.
-
And it trips me out guys because
-
when you look at the text here,
-
and I think about this,
-
that word, epi.
-
K?
-
That word
-
of his or his appearing is used
-
in Timothy as well
-
of his first coming.
-
He didn't come as some phantom in his
-
first coming.
-
He didn't come,
-
you know,
-
secretly.
-
In fact, listen to what second Timothy 01:10
-
says,
-
but now has... But now,
-
has been revealed by the appearing
-
epi
-
of our savior Christ Jesus who abolished death
-
and brought life and immortality to light through
-
the gospel. Amen.
-
And it talks about his glorious appearing, the
-
second coming in Titus.
-
Verse 13, but look at verse 11, for
-
the grace of God has appeared
-
appeared epi finance, the related that we're same
-
word. Bringing salvation to all men. His first
-
coming was an appearing amen.
-
His second coming is a second appearing.
-
God promised that he would come the first
-
time
-
Did Jesus come the first time? Yes.
-
He did.
-
We're day ready?
-
Some were some weren't. Yes. Is he coming
-
a second time? Just like those prophecies were
-
fulfilled brothers sisters. These prophecies are gonna be
-
fulfilled.
-
Okay? And just like, first coming was history,
-
someday is second coming, will be history.
-
Question is what side of history will you
-
be on? In fact, it's interesting.
-
Those 2 Greek words, par for coming
-
and epi Fe for appearing. Those 2 greek
-
words
-
appear in 1 verse together of his coming.
-
In second thessalonians chapter 2. Same chapter you're
2 Thessalonians 2 chapter mention
-
just talking about. Ray Mark, where talks about
-
the coming the ana antichrist, and Jesus defeating
-
him, and it says, in verse 8, then
-
the La 1. That's Si antichrist. Then the
-
La 1 will be revealed.
-
And, by the way, a lot of people
-
are saying that Trump
-
is the antichrist because he had a a
-
deadly wound
-
and then he was healed, and then you
-
say, it grace his ear.
-
I'm sure that hurt. It's not a... It's
-
a bummer, but he it wasn't what says
-
how the appearance of daily wound?
-
Yeah.
-
Appearance of a daily wound means
-
a deli wound. That doesn't appear to be
-
a deadly wound. And then it says he'll
-
be healed in the world with marvel. Is
-
everybody tripping Like, whoa,
-
Trump got a healed.
-
From that that that ear blow. He's he's
-
whoa.
-
No. Come on, guys. Okay. I'm sorry. If
-
you're watching on Live stream, I love you
-
if that's your. I don't know it's not
-
personal. I don't know who has a you
-
saw it's out there chad dealt with it
-
in 1 of our podcasts, You know, you
-
gonna wanna check that out for a deeper
-
review of that.
-
But guys,
-
let's be careful when we pinned the tail
-
on the Ana antichrist. Okay?
-
You know? Because he... Can make us look
-
foolish, you know? Now I'm not saying not
-
to keep your eye on world leaders. I
-
keep my on everybody. I keep my on
-
Trump. I keep my eye on everybody. Okay?
-
But at the same time, I don't wanna
-
stretch the scriptures to make them say something
-
they don't to prove so some kind of
-
you have.
-
Let's be careful.
-
In that ana antichrist, when when Jesus comes
-
back, though it's gonna be Gnarly.
-
So it's there's 2 companies of Christ. This
-
first company came in humiliation.
-
His second company comes at ex.
-
Amen.
-
His first coming,
-
he came on a donkey. The second time
-
he comes on a white horse. Amen. The
-
first time he came he came to be
-
killed. The next time he comes to kill
-
his enemies. First time he became, he came
-
to serve Next time he comes to be
-
served. First time he came he became as
-
a suffering servant in Amen. Next time he
-
comes comes as the conquering king. Amen. First
-
time he became he came as a lamb
-
of God. Next time he comes... He's coming
-
the lion as a lion of the tribe
-
of Judah, Amen. So let's get excited about
-
his coming
-
Amen? Yes lord.
-
And I love that the apostle Paul. You
-
could go to second Timothy chapter 4, if
2 Timothy 4 chapter mention
-
you will, because he uses this word appearing
-
again. In second Timothy chapter 4, and this
2 Timothy 4 chapter mention
-
is about him being ready. And this is
-
second Timothy. This he writes not long before
-
he is beheaded by nero
-
According Eu cbs, the early, early
-
church historian,
-
he lost his head to neuro about... I
-
think I think he has that 60, you
-
know, late sixties,
-
and look at negativity, Paul says this, for
-
am already being poured out as a drink
-
offering.
-
And the time of my departure has come.
-
The old testament there were drink offerings where,
-
Jacob, when his name has changed Israel, he
-
pours out a drink offering to the lord.
-
Their drink offerings prescribed in the law.
-
Jesus is the ultimate drink offering for our
-
salvation. Right? He said this cup is a
-
cup which I poured out. For you is
-
the covenant in my blood. He poured out
-
his life for us. Paul's point out his
-
life as a thank offering to Jesus.
-
Okay. And he says, for I'm already being
-
poured out as a drink offering, and the
-
time of my departure come. I have fought
-
the good fight. Check that out, man. That's
-
at the end of his life, man.
-
He Timothy he's telling being told by him
-
and that first Timothy fight the good fight,
-
but here he says, I have fought the
-
good fight. Paul tells Timothy now. I have
-
finished the course.
-
Praise the Lord, man. I have kept the
-
faith. Praise the lord. In the future, there
-
is laid up for me, the crown of
-
righteousness,
-
which the Lord, the Righteous judge will award
-
to me on that day, and not only
-
to me, but also to all who have
-
what.
-
Have loved his
-
appearing.
-
Amen.
-
How do he love appearing man? If you
-
love me, keep my commandments, obey him, fall
-
in love with him, look at what he's
-
done for you and who he is,
-
to know him is truly to love him
-
when you know who God is. Amen.
-
So it's just amazing when you think of
-
how wonderful
-
our lord is. Now look at chapter
-
6 verse 15,
-
which he will bring about at the proper
-
time
-
He's gonna bring his coming, it's gonna be
-
perfect timing at the proper time. No 1
-
knows a day in the hour. It's in
-
god's timing amen.
-
And, God, the first coming, the first appearing
-
was at the proper time.
-
I mean, it's perfect timing.
-
Daniel chapter 9, certain Jews, Simeon and Anna,
Daniel 9 chapter mention
-
they were anticipating it. Others were anticipated, but
-
they wanted to... Then the kick the booty
-
of the Romans.
-
They didn't want him as a suffering servant
-
yet. But he's like, no. You need to
-
have your sins dealt with. That's the first
-
coming. Amen.
-
It was perfect timing
-
in many respects. The Greeks had been rolling
-
before the Romans
-
and everybody... So many people were speaking Greek,
-
There was not a language that was so
-
universal until the Greeks ruled now the Greeks
-
ruled setting up to where the Gospel was
-
spread in Greek around the world. Oh, but
-
it was so hard to travel through the
-
world because it weren't a lot of roads.
-
Well, that's where the Roman government came in,
-
took over from the Greeks, and they built
-
all these roads.
-
And it's real dangerous travel but guess what?
-
The Romans are rolling so you could actually
-
travel from place to place. And in I
-
in fact, even Roman soldiers who he became
-
Christians, They're are the first ones that show
-
the gospel in Britain,
-
Roman soldiers that Christians that were stationed there.
-
Perfect timing and the fullness of time, Paul
-
says in Galatians 4 4.
-
Jesus was born the first time. And the
-
second time it's be perfect timing all over
-
again. Yes. It's gonna be heavy to see
-
it. Are you still with me?
-
So
-
let's be excited Let's get excited about the
-
lord's return. Let's not try to pick
-
pick exact dates that's very dangerous.
-
I met a guy and I talked to
-
him for a while,
-
and saw him speak. I didn't Cole deal.
-
And he wrote a book Christ returns by
-
19 88.
-
101
-
reasons why.
-
I disagree with him. I got into it
-
with him in a loving way.
-
In fact, he had a pre trip rapture
-
going to, so I just hit him with
-
the post trip stuff, you know? Well, what?
-
Last trumpet it dah the and we just
-
went back and forth. But I knew he
-
was wrong because I knew jesus was wasn't
-
coming 19 8 because it was a couple
-
years before that, when I was watching speak,
-
I'm like, he was talking about the second
-
coming in at 88 and or that, you
-
know, and I'm like, these things aren't even
-
lining up.
-
Stay away from the weird stuff on the
-
internet guys? Okay. Be very, very careful. You
-
don't want egg on your face. Amen?
-
Now,
-
let's go to the rest of the verse
-
or the... Sorry, verse 15 again, the last
-
part of that. He is the blessed and
-
only sovereign,
-
check this out.
-
Now, Paul just breaks forth in praise.
-
He who is the blessed and only sovereign
-
the king of kings and Lord of Lords.
-
He's the only sovereign, man.
-
Right? He's sovereign.
-
He works all things together for the good
-
for those who 11 are the call the
-
purpose. He's a maker of all things. Amen.
-
No 1 can fort him, amen.
-
He he,
-
in him, we live and move and have
-
our being.
-
Right? He's made all things visible and invisible
-
Amen.
-
He's on the throne. Amen, Jeremiah 32 17.
-
Oh, sovereign Lord. You have made the heavens
-
and the earth by your great power and
-
outs stretch arm, nothing is too hard for
-
you. Amen.
-
Revelation 04:11. You are worthy our Lord and
-
God to receive glory and honor and power
-
for you created all things and by your
-
will, they were created and they have their
-
being Amen.
-
I love that, man. In Daniel chapter 2,
Daniel 2 chapter mention
-
Daniel talks about how he sets up kings,
-
and he opposes kings. Abi, if she said
-
look at this Babylon that I've made. He
-
gets humbled for 7 years. Right? And eats
-
to dew and grass and so forth. And
-
then he comes out of it. And he
-
says when I regain my sanity
-
He says
-
that I raised my eyes toward heaven, and
-
my reason returned to me, and I blessed
-
the most high and praised and honored him
-
who lives forever. For his dominion an ever
-
last dominion. And his kingdom endure from generation
-
to generation. All of the inhabitants in the
-
Earth are counted as nothing
-
But he does according to his will in
-
the host of heaven and among the inhabitants
-
of the Earth, and no 1 can ward
-
off his hand or say to him, what
-
have you done.
-
That's Debbie Kin our, man.
-
Jesus Christ. Revelation 17. Verse 14 is coming
-
back as king of kings and Lord of
-
Lords. Revelation 19 he comes back on his
-
white horse versus 15 to 16 is a
-
name written on his thigh, King of kings
-
and Lord of Lords. And that brings us
-
to that last verse. Okay?
-
And we see that.
-
He's mentioned here in this last verse,
-
and I I really want you to focus
-
on it for a moment because We're getting
-
here to the end of our deal, but
-
verse 15 b, he who is blessed. Right?
-
And the only sovereign the what,
-
king of kings and Lord of Lords. He's
-
called that varies. He's called that revelation 17
-
is he's that called that in revelation,
-
19 as well. He's not just a king,
-
man. He's he's king of kings, and he
-
is Lord
-
of Lords, and that's important to understand
-
in fact,
-
when you're looking at this, and I'm gonna
-
I'm gonna try to end right right about
-
here in a couple minutes here. Because when
-
you look at verse
-
16,
-
goes on to say that he what, who
-
alone possesses what. Mortality
-
mortality.
-
God alone possesses mortality. But you say, well,
-
don't aren't we... Don't we have eternal life?
-
The the the meaning there is he alone
-
possesses
-
immortality inherently.
-
He is self existing the great I am
-
from ever last to ever last, he never
-
came into existence. The only way we can
-
have eternal life.
-
Is through him. Amen,
-
as branches attached to the vine through having
-
eternal life through him, who alone possesses mortality
-
and dwell what?
-
An una
-
light,
-
whom no man has seen or can see
-
You guys. No 1 has seen.
-
No 1 can't see him.
-
Well, moses talked to him and says he
-
talked to him face to face, not all
-
glory didn't.
-
I wanna see you how I see your
-
glory. Okay, Moses. I'll put you behind the
-
clef of a rock,
-
and I'll let you see my after glow.
-
And Moses is tripping out because you know
-
what he talks about?
-
Glory.
-
Beauty, the the beauty of the lord. They
-
talks about the justice of god upon the
-
wicked.
-
And that was just from seen as after
-
glow
-
because guess what? When Jesus Christ comes back.
-
And he says that's a little of his
-
glory out to the non believers.
-
Like lightning, shining from the east the west.
-
It says he destroys Louisiana chris with the
-
spirit of his mouth and what?
-
The brightness of his coming.
-
The catch, the brightness
-
The
-
of his par
-
is what destroys the an antichrist is appearing.
-
Think about that. That's why in Z 14
-
people's
-
standing there to make war with him, Their
-
eyes dissolve. From their sockets and their tongue
-
is dissolved from their mouths.
-
What a powerful God?
-
But we won't see him.
-
Well, there's a promise though. No 1 has
-
seen him or can't see him right now.
-
Right?
-
Psalm 18 11 He made darkness his secret.
-
He hid himself in the clouds and thick
-
darkness. In executing his judgments. He did not
-
allow himself to be seen. But guess what?
-
We read in Matthew 5 8. The Lord
-
Jesus Christ said, the sermon mount blessed are
-
the pure in heart for they show what?
-
They shall see God.
-
Revelation 22 4 the last chapter of the
-
Bible.
-
They will see his face,
-
and his name will be on their forehead.
-
How incredible is that? And when John sees
-
him on the throne in the vision in
-
Revelation 4,
-
he talks about these beautiful colors as rainbow
-
on the throne.
-
And he's just seen a vision. You not
-
seen laws glory yet, And he's just blown
-
away. Right? And they... In the living creatures
-
on fall down because he's so beautiful. We're
-
going to see him.
-
And the last part of that verse,
-
the last part of the last verse were
-
studying night to him be wet.
-
Honor
-
an eternal dominion.
-
All amen.
-
Now check this out guys.
-
This this blew me away. First time I've
-
seen this.
-
First time I saw this, and it really
-
minister to me, and I give this to
-
you to really think about.
-
You see this do.
-
Okay? Do means to speak praise.
-
You see this
-
right in the middle of him talking about
-
the rich.
-
You know what I see over and over
-
overhead commentaries,
-
and commentary commentaries are great. Otherwise I don't.
-
And there's a lot of good commentaries, a
-
lot of good things gotta check everything thing.
-
But over and over what I'm saying, We
-
don't know why Paul breaks forth and praise
-
right here, you know? Because he just breaks
-
forth and praise because he's excited, but We
-
don't know if there's any rhyme or reason.
-
Some will try to say there's rhyme or
-
reason,
-
but it hit me like a ton of
-
bricks today.
-
And I thought this is so good by
-
way of application.
-
Because he's praising him, but then he gets
-
into what verse 17 and instruct those who
-
are wet. Rich. The point is is
-
1 comment I read no kidding. I read
-
this last week.
-
Paul
-
wants to end here with this,
-
but then he decides all I need to
-
say something else to the rich.
-
No. That's not what's going on. Paul was
-
saying, I'm gonna end here. Oh, I better
-
say something to the rich. He's been inspired
-
by the holy spirit.
-
But, you know what's happening here.
-
He's talking about the great the period of
-
our Lord God.
-
And it's gonna be glorious.
-
And that's the end goal. And he begins
-
to praise him because he's coming. And you
-
know how I believe that's why I know
-
I believe really strongly that that that's true
-
is because
-
If you go to first Timothy 1, go
-
to first Timothy 1,
-
check this out. Okay.
-
He's talking about Christ's first coming.
-
His first appearing. He's talking about how he
-
was the chief of sinner and all that
-
and how Christ would demonstrate his perfect patience
-
as an example to those who would believe
-
in him to eternal life.
-
What Jesus did for him in his first
-
coming. Then guess what he does. He breaks
-
into.
-
Now to the king eternal immoral invisible, the
-
only God be honored and glory forever and
-
ever amen.
-
Betty goes on. Do you think Timothy is
-
Paul was gonna end there. He said, oh,
-
wait. I got get more to say, no.
-
He's breaking forth and praise because Jesus came
-
to save him the first time Amen.
-
He's breaking forth the praise, the second time
-
because there's gonna be a second period amen.
-
And this is why hit me like a
-
ton of bricks.
-
And by wave of application, I encouraging this.
-
A,
-
praise him for the first time he came
-
to save you. Why do you think Christmas
-
is the most radical, wonderful precious
-
holiday for so many people. Because they're celebrating
-
the,
-
his first coming the incarnation amen. That Don't
-
wait for the 20 fifth of December, Christmas
-
should be every day for us, we should
-
always be thanking him. And guess what? If
-
you do this in your life, and you
-
praise him for his first coming. And why
-
he did for your sins on the cross,
-
you won't get a hung up about the
-
past. You won't cost be worried about the
-
past. You won't cost me said I can't
-
believe this person did this to me. I
-
can't believe I did it that person and
-
be rid of by guilt anxiety because of
-
your past. No. You'll be like, praise you
-
Jesus. For saving me for my sins, and
-
all things I did in the past. Amen.
-
And guess what? You start praising to my
-
apologize for his second p amen. You won't
-
get all hung about the future. Oh, things
-
are getting worse. Oh, 0, the left and
-
the walker are talking about climate change, and
-
and and the rights talking about this out
-
of the other, and the world's gonna cave
-
in. Look yeah. Things aren't gonna get bad.
-
It says that scripture amen. Yeah but it's
-
not how they. Saying it's gonna get bad,
-
but it says when the world's hearts are
-
filling them for fear things coming to the
-
earth. That Wes is believe we're gonna look
-
up and guess what it says that we're
-
be doing. Would it be rejoice because we
-
know our... The day is drawing to your
-
Amen. So guess what? I'm encourage you right
-
now.
-
Blows away any kind of psycho therapy and
-
cycle battle you'll ever get because what we
-
need is not psycho Ba Christians. We need
-
the word of God. We need the work
-
of the president of the holy spirit of
-
our lives.
-
I'm encouraged you right now. The name of
-
Jesus is a,
-
break into praise more often for what he's
-
done for you. Sing praise songs during the
-
day. Seeing them at night when you wake
-
up,
-
Sing about the fact that what Jesus has
-
done for you in his first appearing. Number
-
2, sing about what he's gonna do at
-
a second coming Amen.
-
You won't be worried about the past, and
-
you'll be excited about the future. And the
-
past in the future will meet in the
-
very presence of your day as you praise
-
him for who he is as the alpha
-
and the omega amen. And number 3CAB
-
and c number c celebrate the fact that
-
he's sovereign.
-
Remember when Trump got shot in the ear.
-
And, you know if he would would've got
-
shot in the head had died. You know
-
what's chaos that would be in our country.
-
You know how many people be ticked off
-
and and especially with the way secret service
-
handled it or didn't handle it. Right?
-
There would be chaos maybe civil war in
-
a country who knows.
-
But guess what?
-
If you're Christian, you could say God you're
-
sovereign.
-
You lift up kings you deposed kings. You're
-
the king of Kings. You're the Lord of
-
Lords. You are still on the throne. I
-
don't need to freak out because how would
-
be you thy name? Can come by what
-
be don't. I'm not gonna be moved because
-
you're not moved. And my God is on
-
the throne. Amen.
-
Are you with me tonight? Yes I love
-
you guys, and I love the word of
-
god. I was so excited about preaching this
-
tonight, And I'm like, I was getting fired
-
up by the word. I'm like, big get
-
fired up, like, I don't get fired up
-
because I'm excited about what he's there with
-
the present? What he's doing in the now
-
and why he's doing the future? Praise him,
-
praise him praise him. Amen. Can we all
-
please stand?
