  1. Last week after service, I was talking to

  2. various people, and there was so much excitement

  3. that we're in the book of James,

  4. Janet c arcadia. And we have to goes,

  5. I can't believe we're in this book of

  6. James She says, this is my favorite book

  7. of all the bible books. You know? And

  8. it's a favorite of many people. And if

  9. it's not your favorite... It's probably near the

  10. top of your list. Because it's such a

  11. powerful book.

  12. It's

  13. from the get go, it's very, very powerful,

  14. and I'm so encouraged

  15. because I believe that James is such an

  16. important book for the times in which we

  17. are living.

  18. When there's more

  19. persecution in the church here in the United

  20. States of America, on the horizon than there's

  21. ever been.

  22. Because you see the the Woke mafia rising,

  23. you know? And the anti Christian sentiments not

  24. only in our country, but around the world

  25. where it comes from islam,

  26. but it comes from liberal wisdom. Did you

  27. see the opening act of the Olympics?

  28. I mean, mind blowing stuff going on right

  29. now, guys? And the writing is on the

  30. wall, but more than the writing that we

  31. see on the wall is the writing in

  32. scripture is the word of God warns that

  33. these times would come.

  34. And this letter when you look at James

    James 1:1

  35. chapter 1 verse 1 is addressed. James, a

  36. bond servant of God, and of the Lord

  37. Jesus Christ to the 12 tribes who are

  38. dispersed or scattered broad greetings.

  39. He's writing to believers who have been scattered

  40. or dispersed.

  41. Throughout

  42. Throughout Sam different parts of the Roman empire

  43. because of persecution, we're gonna get in that

  44. context a little bit today. Because we've looked

  45. about what it meant beans to be a

  46. servant already. We looked at a question who

  47. James is. We talked about some of the

  48. evidence is, the main evidence. I believe the

  49. best evidence is that people have that he's

  50. the brother of Jesus. Today we'll be looking

  51. at the best evidence as that he's the

  52. apostle

  53. apostle James. That Jesus picked in it's in

  54. a apostolic letter carrying the weight of an

  55. apostle. We'll look at that as well.

  56. But we also look at the idea of

  57. being scattered. So we'll get through verse 1

  58. And usually, if I start a book, if

  59. you go to my first time I went

  60. through Revelation, revelation 11I,

  61. like, Abc BCDEFG

  62. as parts of my verse 1 introductory.

  63. I mean, that's why it took gears to

  64. get through that 1. And the second time

  65. we went through it. But we're just gonna

  66. do 2 in

  67. James chapter 1 verse 1. And we'll talk

    James 1:1

  68. about what it means to be scattered. So

  69. I love the idea when we look at

  70. who who wrote this, we're talk about, you

  71. know, who what where when and why as

  72. we go through this. And and when are

  73. we talking about who would have written it,

  74. and does the fact that they've been scattered,

  75. and they're being persecuted some of them to

  76. a degree.

  77. Relate to who the author might be. I

  78. believe it very likely does.

  79. At the end of the day,

  80. I I do believe it's 1 of the

  81. 2 James,

  82. James the apostle

  83. or James, the brother of Jesus.

  84. We're not told specifically. It's not some... This

  85. is would be a silly thing the world

  86. to divide over. That'd be super mature to

  87. divide over who you think it is and

  88. make a big issue of it. But we

  89. shouldn't look at it because if I'm going

  90. through a letter, I wanna look at the

  91. evidence of who it might be, that wrote

  92. to me even though I know ultimately it's

  93. Learn. But so we're gonna check that out.

  94. I have a leading,

  95. you know, a lot of times if you

  96. asked me who wrote it Out say I'm

  97. actually in between. And even right now, I

  98. am in between.

  99. You know? But when I'm looking at James,

  100. you know, the son of the brother of

  101. Jesus, and I'm looking at the evidence that.

  102. I, yeah, Looks like it could be him.

  103. Then when I look at James apostle I'm

  104. like,

  105. whoa, really looks like could be him, you

  106. know. So because there's there's good there's good

  107. suggestive evidence for both of them, but it

  108. was probably written by 1 unless we get

  109. to heaven and they... They their health... They're

  110. they're hanging out together smiling that. We wrote

  111. it together.

  112. Know if anybody's had that theory. It popped

  113. in my head. I thought. Not probably not

  114. because it's really interesting when you look at

  115. this book.

  116. I'm excited about the book of James. Can

  117. you tell

  118. You know? You're you're... If you if you

  119. go to a church anywhere, the pastor should

  120. be excited about the word of god, Amen.

  121. Should it be this boring thing, you know?

  122. Because the word of God is not boring.

  123. It's a sin to make the word of

  124. God boring. You know? It's an it's the

  125. word of God. It's living in it's active,

  126. and it's interesting because when we look at

  127. James,

  128. We looked at some of the evidence

  129. of,

  130. James, But the reason I believe

  131. this is such a per... It's pertinent no

  132. matter when you live in church history.

  133. But because he's addressing

  134. the believers who had been. It's definitely addressed

  135. to believers. So we talking about the 12

  136. tribes of Israel that have been scattered. He's

  137. talking about the earliest Christians.

  138. The Jewish believers, early church was Jewish before

  139. gentile inclusion.

  140. And they're scattered we'll see pretty soon because

  141. of persecution.

  142. And

  143. that really pertains to 1 what's happened in

  144. the world today.

  145. And what

  146. is going to be happening to believers here

  147. in our country before who knows how long,

  148. especially if the

  149. end of the end of day come in

  150. our lifetime, but we could see as I

  151. said, the writing not just on the wall,

  152. but in holy scripture. Amen. Now it's interesting.

  153. We're gonna look again at the author who

  154. offered it. And if I take too much

  155. rehearsing what I said last time about the

  156. evidence that it was Jesus brother, James that

  157. wrote it. I'll take up the space I

  158. need to give to the other James, but

  159. I would do wanna reiterate, so you recognize

  160. that you... So you don't get the in

  161. his message and say, oh, it's a slam

  162. dunk. Of course, it's the apostle James

  163. because you might have missed that message.

  164. So you wanna also see... I wanna be

  165. fair.

  166. Because I want to give them both a

  167. fair shake.

  168. We know it's 1 of the

  169. 2 most

  170. prominent James. Why? Because the James that wrote

  171. it expect to be understood because you wouldn't

  172. you wouldn't give any credit to a letter

  173. that just showed up you didn't know who

  174. it was.

  175. Whoever's

  176. identifying Elf has James, the serve of God

  177. and the

  178. end of the Lord Jesus Christ to the

  179. 12 tribes who are dispersed abroad. Greetings, whoever's

  180. writing those first words.

  181. Understands that is understood have credibility, But he's

  182. also understood to be, yes who?

  183. James, a James that they would know.

  184. What makes it confusing is, well if it's

  185. a James they would know how can we're

  186. deciding whether it's 1 or 2 because in

  187. the time that it was written

  188. Depending on when it was written, 1 James

  189. was more prominent than the other James.

  190. In the first several chapters of the book

  191. of acts,

  192. which James was the prominent James.

  193. James the apostle. I mean, he was he

  194. was the only James following Jesus for the...

  195. Jesus ministry. Right?

  196. The other James they get saved until he

  197. saw. Jesus risen from the dead, and Jesus

  198. appeared to him.

  199. And you see him in acts chapter 1

    Acts 1 chapter mention

  200. though.

  201. That James. But you don't see his name.

  202. It just says, you know, it mentions the

  203. other apostles by name, but he is... It

  204. mentioned mentions anne Mary and his brothers.

  205. That trip, Mary and all the brothers get

  206. saved when they see Jesus risen from the

  207. dead. And they're there. But James, His brother

  208. isn't even mention by name for the first

  209. 11 chapters of bug acts. He's nowhere to

  210. be found by name.

  211. Because he's not prominent.

  212. So if James wrote his... This this is

  213. important. If James wrote his letter in the

  214. early chapters the book of acts,

  215. not even just early. The first 10 chapters

  216. the book or so.

  217. I believe the I believe that would be

  218. almost pretty much a slam dunk that we're

  219. talking about the apostle, James. Because they understand

  220. all this is from James Apostle.

  221. However, if it was written after he was

  222. marty, which happens in acts chapter 12,

    Acts 12 chapter mention

  223. It was written after he was marty.

  224. I think it's pretty much a slam dunk.

  225. It's James the brother of Jesus.

  226. Because this other 1 is dead, and we

  227. don't believe that he's communicating from this spirit

  228. world. Right man?

  229. So it depends on when it was written

  230. and that's a big deal.

  231. Okay.

  232. And that's why I kinda chuckle when I

  233. I have a ton of kilometers. I love

  234. to read what everybody's is saying. I think

  235. that's wise. Wisdom a multitude of counselors Amen.

  236. I love I love commentaries and so forth.

  237. But I chuck went inside and I get

  238. a little ticked off you. They, oh, this

  239. was written by James, the brother of of,

  240. of, jeez. I'm like, wait a minute.

  241. How do you know that?

  242. How do you know the data? You don't

  243. know for sure when the date

  244. what's the indicators of when it was written

  245. and so forth.

  246. But...

  247. And that's not because I'm, like, James Apostle

  248. wrote it.

  249. No It's because, you know what? Don't just

  250. currently repeat things that you read in commentaries

  251. guys.

  252. Or that are popular in the church.

  253. If that was the case, we'd all be

  254. pre.

  255. We all believe that once were saying we

  256. could just live like hell because that's so

  257. popular in the teach. No. We don't just

  258. believe what's popular out there.

  259. Okay? Although, I will say this when a

  260. when the prep proponents of scholars agree on

  261. something

  262. it it should get your attention though. So

  263. okay. Why?

  264. And I believe that the evidence that James

  265. wrote, and he's a son of he's a

  266. brother of Jesus.

  267. I believe the evidence is pretty interesting.

  268. I believe that,

  269. but it's not as even

  270. 1 of the top scholars who holds that

  271. view

  272. Douglas Moo,

  273. acknowledges. It's not proof. You know, We don't

  274. know for sure. He acknowledges that. But the

  275. word greetings I went through, and I gotta

  276. be careful I'm already spending too much time

  277. on this, but... And I talked about this

  278. last time, so I'll just say this. The

  279. word they use is for greetings is the

  280. same. Words that James

  281. the brother, Jesus uses in acts chapter

    Acts 15 chapter mention

  282. 15

  283. after the other James dead, and he writes

  284. to the Gentile.

  285. Same Greek word. However, some will say, yeah.

  286. This

  287. this is like a unique word is not.

  288. I show another... I show it's not german

  289. just to that James, even the book of

  290. acts. Chapter 15, we see a pagan writer.

    Acts 15 chapter mention

  291. We see his letter, and it starts with

  292. a same word for greetings.

  293. So it's not like unique stamp of James.

  294. Okay? And it wasn't as only James, the

  295. brother of Jesus could use that word. Although

  296. it is interesting and potentially at least suggested

  297. that it could have been him.

  298. But when I see that

  299. listen to this. When I see that as

  300. the main proof...

  301. It's kinda weak

  302. compared to what you're gonna see with the

  303. apostle James. Just late, this my opinion, you

  304. know.

  305. So you're saying the Apostle James wrote it.

  306. I don't know for sure.

  307. I hate to be wrong about anything. I

  308. wanna be right before God. That's why Hate

  309. to be wrong. That's me loud I'm preaching

  310. for the pulpit. You know?

  311. So

  312. I wanna be careful.

  313. So you talked to me 6 months to

  314. James. I might say, oh, yeah. Maybe it

  315. was.

  316. James the brother of Jesus.

  317. You talk to me right now? Mh. I'd

  318. say 50 50

  319. last week, baby.

  320. Let say 64

  321. 70, maybe, James Apostle right now. I don't

  322. know for sure, but I'm check this out.

  323. Okay.

  324. Check this out. 1 thing I know is

  325. when I talk to people about who wrote

  326. Luke of James, they just say the book

  327. of James, They say James Brother Jesus, and

  328. I ask for... If they've seen the evidence

  329. about the apostle paul or the apostle James.

  330. And I know they haven't seen the evidence

  331. that I have to show, you know?

  332. Because some of it is stuff that I

  333. haven't seen.

  334. I memorized the first chapter of the book

  335. of James

  336. preparing this year for the book of James.

  337. And in memorizing it, some things really struck

  338. me. That's interesting,

  339. but we'll get into that now.

  340. So we can agree that it's a James

  341. that they... The people the audience knows,

  342. and we could agree that early on the

  343. book of acts. The other James isn't even

  344. mentioned by name for 11 chapters.

  345. So the apostle James,

  346. is is

  347. prominent

  348. as far as when you see what happens

  349. in the church persecuted and who hair a

  350. grip a singles out.

  351. However,

  352. later,

  353. of course,

  354. James, the Brother of Jesus is incredibly prominent

  355. just to give you a few more things

  356. about that brother because I wanna say give

  357. him a fair shake.

  358. James a brother Jesus in acts. He's the

  359. 1 that writes the letter for the apostles.

  360. Not Peter.

  361. Interesting.

  362. I think that's significant.

  363. We read first Corinthians 15 that the apostle

  364. Paul appeared to not change just james the

  365. apostle appeared to him, but he also appeared

  366. to his brother.

  367. Do you know that?

  368. It's important to understand. He appeared to his

  369. brother?

  370. Like he was gonna be significant.

  371. When you read the book of Jude, the

  372. book of Jude, I memorized that book last

  373. year, and that's an amazing book and Jude

  374. tells us that he is the brother of

  375. James, a bond of Jesus Christ. Brother what

  376. James. Jude was a brother of James, who's

  377. a brother of Jesus.

  378. So James was a known commodity known person

  379. when Jude wrote his book, which was much

  380. later than this, Of course, but still he

  381. was a known person. So... And then when

  382. James is marty

  383. in chapters 12.

  384. He's marty.

  385. They're told to go... And then Peter's arrested.

  386. And that Peter gets out of prison,

  387. says go tell James.

  388. And the brethren,

  389. which James is talking about then.

  390. James the brother, Jesus

  391. because the other... Don't go tell James the

  392. apostle. He was just killed.

  393. Right?

  394. Otherwise, be confusing. Right? Rachel James Which 1?

  395. Well, he's got killed. Obviously he's not him.

  396. But it shows you that that James had

  397. some prominence at least in those last years.

  398. Or at last at least a short time,

  399. he rei to prominence prior to the James

  400. Marty. This has very, very interesting

  401. stuff. That's why I say, it's not an

  402. easy decision. But I love it because when

  403. we look at it, we get to know

  404. the book of James better. In this message,

  405. you'd be like, wasn't it just about who

  406. the author is.

  407. It's about what's going on in this church,

  408. and it's powerful.

  409. Now,

  410. Here's some of the evidence I want to

  411. talk about.

  412. This is interesting.

  413. The the evidence is... What's interesting is the

  414. oldest Latin manuscript.

  415. And some are most people are under in

  416. the assumption that the new testament, the scripture

  417. was were in to Greek and then translated

  418. right to Latin first. It wasn't translated to

  419. Latin first.

  420. It was translated

  421. Listen, it was translated to Syria

  422. first. But the Latin witness translated Latin pretty

  423. quick. The Oldest Latin manuscript we have of

  424. James is attributed to James the son of

  425. Z.

  426. Think that's interesting.

  427. That's what they believed

  428. in the transcription of that manuscript,

  429. but listen to this, not just Latin, another

  430. language.

  431. The oldest copy version we have of the

  432. Siri

  433. k,

  434. which was a,

  435. a form of Ara,

  436. which was spoken in by the chief center

  437. of, are you guys listening? The chief center

  438. of Christianity

  439. in the Middle East,

  440. Turkey and so forth.

  441. Syria was used, and the scriptures were read

  442. early on,

  443. checked this out.

  444. The early church,

  445. Syria.

  446. First

  447. version we have of James

  448. in Syria,

  449. which was 1 of the main languages that

  450. scriptures was translate to is it's attributed to

  451. guess who again.

  452. James, the son, James the apostle.

  453. So the earliest versions we have of James

  454. in the in the new... In ancient history,

  455. in ancient...

  456. Latin and in, or just say Latin. Because

  457. it's still the agent latin if you're learning

  458. Latin. And and Syria

  459. is

  460. they're both attributed

  461. jane... Attributing James to the apostle, James. In

  462. fact,

  463. the P

  464. Syria has it's known,

  465. is

  466. dates way back to

  467. the the earliest parts of this, and it

  468. said translation the bible. You see it right

  469. up there. K?

  470. Listen to this. This is the P Ser

  471. version. It says the 3 epi of the

  472. 3 apostles. This is what So if you

  473. open this translation, Right? Which began to be

  474. written in the latter part of the second

  475. century. Right? And it's interesting. We even have

  476. an attribution from Eu cbs,

  477. mentioning this,

  478. talking about how it was written between, at

  479. least the gospel portions of it, written between

  480. 01:60 and 1 80 80. That's a blessing

  481. to us because a lot of the critics

  482. of Christianity, which say, the gospel came much

  483. later And right there it shows that the

  484. gospel it has all 4 gospel in it.

  485. We're written quite early.

  486. And they have copies, and the copies are

  487. copies and copies back to the original manuscript,

  488. which is quite interesting.

  489. But what's interesting in the early 4 hundreds,

  490. guess what you had.

  491. A copy of the new testament.

  492. It was could called the Pas

  493. Siri,

  494. Siri. And this copy of the new testament

  495. contained all the books new testament

  496. except second and third John,

  497. Jude,

  498. second Peter in the book revelation.

  499. K? They're still trying to bring the the

  500. cannon together and some had the moratorium text.

  501. That's a whole other thing. I don't get

  502. too deep because I'm battling with time, which

  503. I always do.

  504. But I wanna say this to you guys.

  505. Is

  506. at the beginning

  507. before you get to

  508. right in front of James.

  509. Second, Peter.

  510. And first, John. You know what you read?

  511. Read it up there.

  512. The... It's the 3 epi of the 3

  513. what.

  514. Apostles.

  515. Before whose eyes, our Lord was what.

  516. Himself.

  517. That is James and Peter and John.

  518. Was j was James, the son of the

  519. was James the brother, Jesus there the trans

  520. creation. Was wanna... Was he is that James?

  521. No it was James Who, the apostle. So

  522. I'm just letting you know that it's not

  523. like... And but what, I noticed this when

  524. I reached a commentary as I'll mention, well,

  525. It's not a testament to who wrote it

  526. in the earliest church fathers, but later on,

  527. it's a tradition that James, the brother Jesus

  528. wrote it. I'm like, you guys. How come

  529. you're not talking about the actual manuscripts in

  530. in whose name? They believed it was, you

  531. know? So it's important to understand or at

  532. least see this, it's quite interesting, I think.

  533. So

  534. they attribute it to James the apostle.

  535. Okay?

  536. Now next,

  537. the letters of James Peter and John Now.

  538. It's interesting

  539. in the Bae,

  540. when you think of these ancient manuscripts, you...

  541. I'm just letting you know. So if you're

  542. Syria speaker in the Middle East and there's

  543. all kinds of churches and denomination that

  544. spared from them. You're all understanding this to

  545. be for the most part. Why would they

  546. understand this was written by James the apostle.

  547. That's good questions. You know?

  548. It's a good question.

  549. They believe it was the apostle. James. Why.

  550. Let's start looking at some of that. First

  551. of all, look at Matthew chapter 10 verse

    Matthew 10:2

  552. 2, If you don't have your bible, you

  553. can look up there. You can look up

  554. there anyway. But we see that Jesus is

  555. the appointed 12 apostles.

  556. And the first one's mentioned are Peter and

  557. Andrew, and then

  558. Peter and Andrew his brother, then James, the

  559. son of Z and John his brother. Was

  560. John and Peter and James

  561. important in the early church. Absolutely. You're gonna

  562. see that Jesus had an inner circle folks.

  563. He had the 12 apostles, but you know

  564. who the 3

  565. closest the apostles were to him that he

  566. picked to be the 3 main leaders,

  567. it was Peter.

  568. It was James, and it was John.

  569. And it's interesting because,

  570. usually, you'll see James name before you'll see

  571. John's name even. And John wrote 5

  572. works of the new testament first a segment

  573. third John,

  574. the Gospel John and the book of revelation.

  575. So it would not shock me if John

  576. the Apostle had at least 1 book.

  577. Being the older brother. I'd hope you get

  578. won, maybe, but I don't know. You know?

  579. So it's interesting.

  580. They were part of the big 3,

  581. being groomed by Jesus to be leaders

  582. look at Matthew chapter 3 3 verse 13

    Matthew 3 chapter mention

  583. because liquid Jesus nickname these apostles.

  584. Matthew chapter

  585. can you go now? I'm sorry. To Mark

    Mark 3:13

  586. chapter 3 verse 13.

  587. Mark chapter 3 verse 13. Is that up

    Mark 3:13

  588. there next after Matthew?

  589. Mark chapter 3 verse 13.

    Mark 3:13

  590. Okay If you don't have that, that's okay.

  591. James says the son of Z

  592. And John, the brother of James. So James

  593. and John or brothers are... What's their occupation?

  594. They're both white. Do remember?

  595. Fishermen.

  596. Pan picked by Jesus. Says in Mark 03:13,

    Mark 3:13

  597. Jesus a son of Z,

  598. and John the brother you can read up

  599. there. Of James, I might have the attribution

  600. run. To whom he gave what, The name's

  601. what.

  602. Okay? Bow energies. K? Bow energies, that is

  603. sons of what.

  604. Thunder. So Peter,

  605. you know, these 2 are nicknamed Sons of

  606. Thunder.

  607. K? They're leaders in the early church.

  608. Why do you think they were given the

  609. name sons

  610. of Thunder

  611. because they were tempt because

  612. They had some,

  613. you know, they had to get control of

  614. their outburst.

  615. You know, Peter had some problems too. Aren't

  616. you glad god's patient with us?

  617. Look at what happens, they're going through Sam,

  618. and they're gonna state at a village and

  619. they're rejected and Jesus is told he can't

  620. stay there because they find out he's going

  621. to Jerusalem. And the Samaritan did not like

  622. the dealings with the Jews and and and...

  623. And and Jerusalem, and they tell them you

  624. can't stay here. So guess what? James and

  625. John get really ticked off. And look what

  626. we read about in chapter 9 of Luke

    Luke 9:24

  627. 09:24.

  628. Not Luke 09:54.

    Luke 9:54

  629. We read this. When his disciples, James and

  630. John saw this?

  631. They said, Lord, do you want us to

  632. command fire to come down from heaven and

  633. consume them?

  634. He checked that out.

  635. Jesus said he came to seek and say

  636. that which lost. Right? And they're like, they're

  637. rejecting my Jesus. You know?

  638. Jesus is a son of god that rejecting

  639. him.

  640. Jesus.

  641. James has this idea, John. They've probably talked

  642. about because they come together.

  643. Why us to just call heaven down is

  644. wipe them out for you. You know?

  645. And it goes on to say that Jesus

  646. rebuked them.

  647. Some manuscripts have Jesus saying. You do not

  648. know what spirit you're of.

  649. You know? So it's very interesting

  650. they're giving this named sons of Thunder was

  651. not a compliment.

  652. Okay? Wasn't like, oh, Jesus was starting the

  653. motorcycle gang. You know, the sons of thunder.

  654. You know, and this is cool. No. It

  655. it's something that they need to grow past,

  656. and it's important because guess what. Sometimes we

  657. get upset when our Jesus has talked about.

  658. Or mocked.

  659. In fact, look at this next slide.

  660. This was the op from the opening ceremonies

  661. of the Olympics.

  662. Okay?

  663. Well, there's a vinci painted in the last

  664. supper butt above it. You have these these

  665. trans,

  666. people,

  667. mocking

  668. in the opening ceremony, bla,

  669. mocking the Lord Jesus Christ. Okay?

  670. And

  671. when I see that stuff, it just... In

  672. fact, let's... There's a little kid there by

  673. the way, you know, because the trans people

  674. are after the boys. Right? And they got,

  675. you that, you know, gay trans hour or

  676. whatever it is, you know, in the school

  677. story time. And thereafter our children, we've proven

  678. that over and over again that so many

  679. of those in that community

  680. in in the homosexual community,

  681. by their own admission, you know,

  682. they wanna ind our children and so forth.

  683. And and they put a little boy in

  684. there. It's just... And they're bla and Jesus

  685. there. Let's let's get off that slide.

  686. But that gal in the middle, you saw,

  687. the heavy set yeah.

  688. But then guess what? We can react in

  689. an un godly way.

  690. And that's the effect satan once. He wants

  691. to create mock

  692. and galvanized

  693. those who are quote unquote woke against us,

  694. but he wants us to retaliate

  695. in a violent way. That's what Satan wants.

  696. He wants to create warfare

  697. and eventually the mass ladder of Christians. We

  698. have to be careful

  699. James audience, who he's writing to have been

  700. scattered

  701. throughout the Roman empire, or different parts of...

  702. It was Jude, Same even beyond that as

  703. we'll read later,

  704. And a lot of them have lost their

  705. homes.

  706. Similar situation to Hebrews,

    Hebrews 10 chapter mention

  707. chapter 10. Remember where many of them were

  708. been prison many of them are had lost

  709. their homes it says, but they have... They

  710. rejoice because they have an abiding home in

  711. heaven it says. Could you imagine mass believers

  712. being scattered and losing your homes and so

  713. forth, and you're being spit upon you're being

  714. rejected. You're being hated depending on where you

  715. go, accepted more in some areas rejected more

  716. in others James is right into those folks.

  717. It's important to keep the context in mind.

  718. You could imagine that you you would be

  719. pre upset. Amen.

  720. You got booted out of your home and

  721. persecuted by wicked people

  722. who love power who love money who hated

  723. Jesus.

  724. Remember Paul was going house to house according

  725. x 28 he said,

  726. causing people to bla Christ.

  727. Threatening them with death, dragging them out of

  728. their homes. He was 1 of the bad

  729. guys.

  730. If they would have brought fire down from

  731. heaven on Some area,

  732. would it happen to the woman at the

  733. well and all the people that came in

  734. Jesus.

  735. They'd be torch.

  736. That wasn't Jesus plan.

  737. He came to seek and save that which

  738. was lost.

  739. Now keep keep all this in mind because

  740. it's this is all very pertinent.

  741. Because I looked at what people were saying,

  742. and,

  743. you know, Ryan Garcia, 1 of the most

  744. well known boxer right now.

  745. Profess Christian,

  746. although he needs to

  747. clean up his mouth and a lot of

  748. other things and get right and right with

  749. God, you know? But and I hope he

  750. does because... But in his passion, he says,

  751. I... You know, I I hate these people

  752. and

  753. you know,

  754. He said some very strong statements. I don't

  755. wanna mis quote him because,

  756. but it was interesting.

  757. He said,

  758. burn in hell, trans people, you know, and

  759. so forth. And and another Christian leader, I

  760. shouldn't say another a Christian leader said, looked

  761. at her and started mocking the lady in

  762. the middle who's pretending to be Jesus with

  763. the heart. It's disgusting what she's doing. And

  764. he said, look at this 400 pound girl

  765. lady, you know? You... She looks like a

  766. a grease pig, you know, being ready to

  767. be put on the spit and roasted, you

  768. know? And I'm like, don't go to there.

  769. That's what the enemy wants to be careful

  770. now.

  771. You know? He had said everything but put

  772. a map... An apple in her mouth, and

  773. I'm like, yeah. These are people... I was

  774. anti antichrist before I came to Jesus.

  775. I'm so thankful. He was patient with me.

  776. I'm so thankful. He was patient with the

  777. apostle Paul. Yet. We're supposed to hate evil.

  778. And there's the other extreme is really the

  779. worst extreme in the church because I mean,

  780. there's 2 horrific extremes. Anybody that would go

  781. toward violence.

  782. Would be the worst extreme.

  783. But there worst extreme on the other side

  784. is people that are passive toward evil. They

  785. tolerate evil they don't speak against it because

  786. they're being coward in the pulpit pit. We

  787. have to speak, this is damn.

  788. And God's judgment is coming. They need to

  789. repent.

  790. Amen? So we need to walk that straight

  791. narrow a line where we walk in love,

  792. We remember from once we came,

  793. but we also condemned that, which is wicked,

  794. which is destroying souls. Amen.

  795. Lord give us strength. In fact,

  796. that Olympic opening ceremony

  797. took place the day after

  798. our next potential president

  799. Come kamala Harris

  800. appeared on... Let's go the next slide. Ru

  801. paul's drag queen show, you know?

  802. There she is and

  803. so forth and and, you know, that's... I

  804. mean, this is the woman and it's gotta

  805. be honest with you. She slept her way

  806. to power.

  807. When she was in California.

  808. At 30 years old, she started sleeping with.

  809. There's pictures and then together and there's no

  810. denial that they were to a thing with

  811. a married man.

  812. Who became mayor... Willie Brown,

  813. and he was 60 years old at the

  814. time, and married,

  815. and she was just 30.

  816. I think she was just overwhelmed by his

  817. awesome looks.

  818. No.

  819. Yeah. And then before you knew it, eventually

  820. she become Da and so forth.

  821. This is crazy stuff, man. So

  822. I'm not telling you to vote for, but

  823. I'm definitely not voting for her.

  824. Okay?

  825. This is just sad. You know?

  826. What kind of church am I at? That's

  827. a church that speaks of truth.

  828. Okay? Which speaks the truth and stands on

  829. the gospel of Jesus Christ team amen. That's

  830. what we wanna be wanna be,

  831. you know, at here Totally and holy to

  832. our Lord, Jesus Christ. Now,

  833. I'm not gonna start calling her names and

  834. everything else. I'm gonna speak the truth. You

  835. know? Yeah. She slept her way to power

  836. and and she carried... She's with the the...

  837. On the trans thing. And and

  838. when her office was common unless something's happened

  839. sense about what happened at the Olympics, there

  840. was crickets, you know, unless there's something that's

  841. happened since if somebody read that was she

  842. condemned it. It's just... We can see, you

  843. know, worse they're at, You know?

  844. Is very, very heartbreaking.

  845. So when we look at this, we have

  846. to think of the fact that the sons

  847. of thunder

  848. they got really upset

  849. with the Samaritan amen,

  850. and a lot of profess believers can get

  851. really upset. And we have be careful

  852. that we are in the word

  853. that we're filled with the spirit that we're

  854. not controlled by the circumstances and that we

  855. also recognize the Lord said beforehand that this

  856. would happen. So we're not shocked. Peter says

  857. arm yourselves to suffer. Amen. Jesus just says

  858. I told you these things ahead of time

  859. if they spoke of me and called me

  860. be above things like that.

  861. Said how much more are they're gonna speak

  862. evil of you. Right. You know?

  863. He said they're gonna put to death thinking

  864. that they're doing God servers. That's how diluted

  865. some of them will be.

  866. Basis I'm telling you these things ahead of

  867. time, so you will not fall away.

  868. Doesn't want us fall away. That's where we're

  869. ahead of time. That's why churches that are

  870. not warning people ahead of time are actually

  871. part of grooming the great falling away. I'm

  872. sorry, That's what's happening. It's heartbreaking indeed. Now,

  873. it's also important to keep in mind this.

  874. And I'm gonna get a little bit ahead

  875. of myself, but I'll pick it up later

  876. is the James that wrote this was incredibly

  877. impacted by the sermon on the mountain.

  878. Radically impacted.

  879. Not just a spatter in here is his

  880. spatter in there. His entire letter is p

  881. by 35

  882. illusions

  883. to the sermon on the mount.

  884. In fact, most of chapter 1, there's 13

  885. references to the certain of the amount in

  886. just chapter 1.

  887. Would which James heard Jesus give the sermon

  888. on the mountain.

  889. James, the apostle.

  890. Okay? Well, that doesn't it mean the other

  891. James went have heard about her or heard

  892. what Jesus said or what have you, but

  893. there's no evidence and nobody really believes that

  894. the gospel were written before g James has

  895. marty him.

  896. So James would have had to be an

  897. eye witness of the sermon on the mount

  898. this guy keeps coming after me. I mentioned

  899. Bee a fly starts attacking me You know?

  900. So

  901. As long as not in my nose. I've

  902. done that before, but I'm older now, You

  903. know, asking. So anyway, it's interesting

  904. because,

  905. Just give you some hints in James chapter

    James 1 chapter mention

  906. 1 because I'm not gonna have... I was.

  907. You know what I gonna do today, but

  908. I'm not gonna do. I was gonna go

  909. through to you all the parallels from James

    James 1 chapter mention

  910. chapter 1. And the sermon in the mount.

  911. But that's like, 3 pages long. And I'm

  912. like, Lord, I'm already played with a clock.

  913. So I'm went say like cutting off a

  914. finger. It was hard. I'm like, Lord, How

  915. do I do this? You know? And I

  916. always battle with the clock and battle with

  917. my message. But and if you've ever noticed,

  918. I always put the word to god in

  919. the message. I believe god's burned in my

  920. heart above the clock though. I'll never put

  921. the clock above the message I believe that

  922. God's burning him my heart. But I come

  923. really close at times, you know? And so...

  924. But I cut out things I'm Constantly editing

  925. even as I preach. But I've worked really

  926. hard on this message to try to get

  927. the stuff in that I want to get

  928. in that I feel you need to see

  929. that gives the best case on this James

  930. as well. Now,

  931. and by the way, I could make make

  932. this message with evidence that lean toward that

  933. James

  934. 3 messages along. But let me say this

  935. you guys is

  936. in the sermon of the mount.

  937. Jesus says to rejoice when you're persecuted for

  938. what.

  939. Righteousness is a sake. What's the first command

  940. James gives?

  941. Considered all joy my brother. Right? When you

  942. endure. Right?

  943. Tribulation, various tribulation. Said Join my brother when

  944. you encounter various tribulation. Oh, and Jesus dealt

  945. a lot with anger in the sermon amount.

  946. And guess what? James had an angry problem,

  947. Didn't he.

  948. Right? I mean, a son of thunder.

  949. Would you agree it would be kind of

  950. an an ag problem where you just wanna

  951. destroy everybody with fire as bit of an

  952. anger problem. Right? But guess what? Jesus is

  953. correcting him. Sort amount has his great impact

  954. on him if he indeed is the author

  955. of this book. And what does he say?

  956. Be so to speak slow to anger. Right?

  957. For the anger of man does not achieve

  958. the righteousness of God.

  959. What did James learned that? If it's the

  960. apostle James, from Jesus on the sermon of

  961. the mount and from Jesus him personally.

  962. So when I look at that, this is

  963. why I think it's really, really, really heavy

  964. If it's the apostle James because the book

  965. has so much more layers than. Then you're

  966. like, whoa, and that's what's been happening to

  967. me. I'm like, whoa, this was James. We

  968. don't know a lot about James the Son

  969. is Eb. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. The we

  970. do know John's... James son Deputy, the apostle.

  971. We do know a lot about him. We

  972. don't know a lot a lot about James,

  973. the brother of Jesus.

  974. You just know he's brother of Jesus. You

  975. know he got converted all the resurrection, a

  976. couple verses here and there and mentioned him

  977. throughout the epi, and then you see him

  978. in James chapter 15. There's not a whole

  979. lot. Else and acts after 12 Go tell

  980. James too after the other James has killed.

  981. But you know a whole lot about James

  982. the apostle, and you know realized, wow. Look

  983. at All jesus teaching, he was there for

  984. pretty much most all of it. And then

  985. when you go through James, it's like, wow.

  986. You could see James the apostle

  987. could relate to them being angry when they're

  988. scattered by un believers, Aye amen, and you

  989. could relate to him saying, count all join

  990. my brother when you count various trials. You

  991. relate to him saying, you know, be quick

  992. to hear so to speak slow to anger

  993. for Anger man isn't she the registered Scott,

  994. because he would have learned. And you see

  995. that this James, this is what I love

  996. about James guys. And why I'm so excited

  997. that we're going through it is James mind,

  998. whether it's James the apostle,

  999. the son of Z, or whether it's James,

1000. the the brother of Jesus. Their mind is

1001. permitted with the sermon of the mount,

1002. which is the sermon that Jesus gave and

1003. at the end of it, the most popular

1004. message ever preached on earth by the way.

1005. And at the end of it, warns that

1006. you need to build your life on the

1007. rock of his words, Amen or when the

1008. trials come. And if you're built in the

1009. sand, great where your destruction be.

1010. So James got it, whichever James it is,

1011. but which James would be more likely to

1012. be the 1 that's radically impacted by the

  1013. certain amount.

  1014. Which 1?

  1015. James the apostle.

1016. And this is what blows me away. When

1017. I read James and it hit me so

1018. hard Makes you wanna cry sometimes. When I

1019. memorize the book of James, I'm working through

1020. it right now. But when I go... I

  1021. memorized first chapter,

1022. and I think about it, I'm like,

  1023. This guy's mind,

1024. he is confronting the situations that the church

  1025. is facing

1026. purely through the mind of Christ by the

1027. holy spirit through the prism of the most

1028. amazing teacher you to ever taught the sermon

1029. of the mount. He has the mind of

  1030. christ.

1031. His mind has been transformed. He's no longer

1032. I wanna destroy everybody. He's like, man, God

1033. had marissa at me. And he writes in

1034. that way, and he rep packages

  1035. the sermon the mount.

1036. In such a way that's applied to their

1037. situations. I thought Lord give us that heart.

1038. Give us that mind to where we look

1039. at our problems and we apply Jesus teaching

1040. in the sermon mount and elsewhere

1041. throughout scripture to the things that we face,

  1042. amen.

1043. That's the beautiful beautiful practical

1044. application of this if it's written by James

1045. the apostle. If it's written by James brother,

1046. Jesus, It still applies. This as much though.

1047. Right? We just don't have all the texture

1048. and all the the the stories that would

1049. relate to how he would have learned

1050. by experience some of these

  1051. these teachings

1052. and how we would apply them.

  1053. Now,

1054. I need to pick it up

1055. I need to pick it. I literally whittled

1056. my message in almost half. Finally before I

1057. got here. So let's check this out. Who

1058. did Jesus take up with him to the

  1059. mount of olives?

  1060. Mark chapter 13

    Mark 13:2

  1061. verse 2.

  1062. It says,

1063. he was sitting on the mount of olives.

1064. Opposite at the temple, Peter James and john

1065. John and Andrew, we're questioned him privately. So

1066. Andrew, there Andrew andrew's is the brother of

1067. who. Neither Peter. K? Steve gave, pastor Steve

1068. gave an incredible message on Andrew at the

  1069. men's retreat. You don't wanna miss a treats.

1070. You get all these good messages and It

1071. was it was great. So, Andrew happens to

1072. be there. He's probably like, well, I'm with

1073. the inner circle. Maybe Joking. Hey, peter I

1074. gotta hang out with you guys. You know,

1075. we don't know exactly what went down. But

  1076. it's pretty interesting.

1077. Who was it that was with? Now Jesus

1078. plan and he was trans

1079. before some of his apostles.

1080. Trans on the amount of configuration.

1081. Who was it that he was before? Who

1082. was it that he brought with him? Look

  1083. at Mark chapter 9 versus 2 and 3.

    Mark 9 chapter mention

1084. And after 6 days, Jesus took him with

  1085. Peter,

1086. took with him, Peter and who, James and

1087. John, James is always almost always again, mentioned

1088. before John. John's an a incredible leader in

1089. the early church. Okay? I found a couple

1090. places at least 1 where John has mentioned

  1091. before him.

1092. So... And 6 days, Jesus took him

1093. with him, Peter and James and John, and

1094. led them up a high mountain by themselves,

  1095. and he was trans

1096. before them, picture of a second coming. And

1097. his clothes became radiant intensely whites

  1098. As

1099. as no 1 on Earth could bleach them.

1100. It was like just radiant weight, and they're

  1101. tripping out.

1102. And the corner, second Peter chapter 1, this

    2 Peter 1 chapter mention

  1103. was a pre configuration

1104. of Jesus second coming, and it certainly was

1105. because we look at everyone when Jesus taught

1106. about it. He goes into how, you know,

1107. he's right before they basically let them know

1108. they're gonna see a picture of his return.

  1109. But he brings James

1110. you know, Peter James and John with him.

1111. In his greatest time of crisis before he

1112. went to the cross. When he went into

1113. the garden of Yosemite, who did he bring

  1114. with him?

1115. Well, he brought his inner circle again. Look

  1116. at Matthew chapter 26

    Matthew 26:36

  1117. verse 36.

  1118. Says,

  1119. then Jesus.

1120. Went with them to the place called Geth

1121. 70. And he said he was disciples sit

1122. here while I go over there and pray

  1123. and taking with him

  1124. the what?

1125. The 2 sons of Z, that would be

1126. James and John. He began to be powerful

  1127. and troubled.

1128. They were definitely known to be leaders. In

1129. fact, they were such leaders among the apostles

  1130. that

1131. their mom, Sal made an end around Peter,

  1132. you know,

  1133. and confronted Jesus,

1134. and she had a request regarding her 2

  1135. sons, James and John.

1136. And what did she request? Let's look at

1137. acts or Matthew chapter 20, Matthew chapter 20

Matthew 20 chapter mention Matthew 20:21

  1138. verse

  1139. 21.

1140. Grant that 1 of these 2 sons of

1141. mine, Change and John may sit at your

1142. right hand, right? Or at your right and

1143. on on the other at what?

1144. You're left in your kingdom. Meaning when you

  1145. come,

1146. I want James and John to be at

1147. your left and right hand Jesus.

1148. You know how sometimes mothers could be really

  1149. ambitious for their kids.

  1150. You know?

1151. You know, some others want Jewish sense to

1152. be lawyers someone want them to be doctors.

1153. She wants them at the right hand and

  1154. left handed of Jesus.

1155. Okay? You keep thinking get better than that.

  1156. You know? She's definitely.

1157. It's kind of a trip when you think

1158. about it? And Jesus says, do you know

1159. what cup, I'm gonna treat and they come

1160. in and they talk to Jesus with her?

1161. You know, when we compare the gospel accounts

  1162. it's kind of trip.

1163. And he says, are you able to drink

1164. the cup that I'm gonna drink?

1165. You know what they say?

  1166. Yeah.

1167. Well, they don't realize what kind of cup

1168. he's gonna drink? And he he affirm that.

1169. Yeah, You will be able to, but not

1170. exactly what he's going to do. He's gonna

1171. die for the sins the world.

  1172. Okay?

  1173. And,

1174. they will go through some suffering as well.

  1175. So it's interesting.

1176. Then we see James mentioned

1177. with the other apostles in act, when the

1178. book of acts gets going in chapter 1.

1179. It sets up, letting us know the leaders

1180. of the church were. Acts chapter 1 verse

    Acts 1:13

  1181. 13.

1182. When they had entered the city,

1183. They went up to the upstairs upper room

1184. for the day of panic get prepared for

  1185. the day of Cost.

1186. They went up... They entered the city. They

1187. went up to the upstairs room and

1188. They were there... And were staying there. That

  1189. is who. Peter

1190. John James, and it goes on a wrench

1191. and the rest of the apostles. Set for

  1192. J and he's replaced in chapter 1 by.

1193. But then it goes on to say, all

1194. these were continually dev voting themselves with 1

  1195. mind to prayer,

  1196. along with the women

1197. and Mary, the mother of Jesus and with

  1198. his brothers.

1199. So the brothers, which are mentioned last and

1200. not even named, would include James

1201. the son of the, Mary oldest son after

  1202. Jesus that would be,

1203. the oldest of the sons besides Jesus.

1204. But he's just 1 of the brothers at

  1205. that point.

1206. And through the first 11 chapters the book

1207. of acts, you don't see him mention 1

1208. time. You don't see any acts that he

  1209. did, what he's doing.

1210. But, well, gets even more interesting.

  1211. Now,

  1212. Christianity is spreading.

1213. Hero Ag grip wants to make a statement

1214. against the church as it grows.

1215. So guess what he does. He attacks the

  1216. leaders of the church.

1217. Look at acts chapter 12. Now we're deep

    Acts 12 chapter mention

1218. in the book of acts now. Acts chapter

    Acts 12 chapter mention

  1219. 12.

  1220. Verse 1.

  1221. It says,

1222. It was about this time that King hero

1223. arrested some who belonged to the church, intending

  1224. to per them.

  1225. He had who.

  1226. James, which James.

1227. The brother John, the apostle.

1228. James brother, John put to death with the

  1229. sword.

1230. Who does he go after first and who

1231. does the holy spirit emphasize that he put

  1232. the death?

  1233. The first marty

1234. when he says, yeah, we can treat your

  1235. cup. Jesus.

1236. Did he, not in the way that Jesus

1237. drank it for our sins, but he became

1238. the first apostle who was marty, and that's

1239. highlighted in scripture for us. I believe it's

1240. for reason to show his rank his who

1241. he was. And then it goes on to

1242. say, when he saw that this met... What

1243. this met with approval among the Jews. He

1244. saw the jews. We're like, happy about it.

1245. Believe in jews that would be. Even though

1246. your jews are being killed. Right? He proceeded

  1247. to sees who.

  1248. Peter also.

1249. Now let me go after Peter. Well, who's

  1250. Jesus inner circle?

  1251. Peter James and John.

1252. Now, if James did now come out if

1253. be honest. If James us, the the brother

1254. of Jesus is really prominent right now, Why

1255. does he just not kill him? Because this

1256. is a James that's most prominent at this

  1257. time?

1258. Now guess who becomes more prominent among the

  1259. changes after he's marty.

  1260. Well,

1261. only 1 other guy could. I mean, there

1262. was James the son of Alt, which was

1263. another James who was an apostle, but he's

1264. not mentioned. He's not part of the inner.

  1265. He's not part of the big 3 He's

1266. not mentioned as there's not anything really much

1267. said about him. So some do believe because

1268. right after he says, go tell his brother,

1269. go tell the brothers after Peter, was arrested

1270. and, you know, and so forth.

1271. Go tell his brothers and James.

1272. Now that can't mean James the Marty that

1273. was just the apostle. Right? Obviously, That means

1274. as I mentioned, James, the brother of Jesus.

1275. Now I will say this because I have

1276. to let you be straight with you is

1277. some believe that the James there and who's

1278. mentioning mentioned it acts chapter 15 is still

    Acts 15 chapter mention

1279. not the brother of Jesus.

1280. That is is James, the son of A

1281. the other James the apostle. K?

1282. Different scholars I believe that through the centuries

1283. and so forth. I personally believe based on

1284. paul's letters, based on Jesus making a special

1285. appearance to James his brother

1286. based on Paul mentioning him

1287. elsewhere as as as a pillar of the

1288. church that this is James the brother of

1289. Jesus. I have no doubt on my mind

  1290. that. The second James.

1291. After the apostle James is marty.

  1292. Okay?

  1293. So

  1294. did you ever think

1295. looking at the author of who wrote a

1296. book would be so interesting?

1297. I love this kind of stuff. You know,

1298. I just think it's so awesome. Now,

1299. this is... It gets crazier though. Okay?

1300. Go tell James. Okay. I love that. So

1301. now, check this out. When you say, who

1302. wrote the letter of James,

  1303. Which James,

1304. do you understand there's only 2 that are

  1305. prominent?

1306. And the question is best answered as to

1307. when was it written? Do you understand that?

  1308. Because the James that's

1309. writing would be known at the time?

1310. And if it's early acts, that would be

1311. James the apostle. If it's later acts, that

  1312. would be James

1313. brother of Jesus. Are you with me?

  1314. That's why you just can't say, oh, I

1315. know it was James, the apostle for sure,

1316. or I know. You know what? It was

1317. obviously James, the brother Jesus really. How do

1318. you know that? Hi do you know when

  1319. was written?

1320. That's why I'm saying. We gotta be careful

1321. not to be super dogma...

1322. Well, I believe God's showing me. Well

1323. Lot of people believe that God shown them

1324. something that doesn't really get you very far,

  1325. you know?

  1326. So...

1327. And I did pray Lord Show we make

1328. it clear to me. But not a mystical

1329. way Just show me through scripture. And I'm

1330. not saying he answered that prayer because I

  1331. don't wanna be

1332. dogma and and and believe that that prayer

1333. was answered in that way. I didn't get

1334. a dream or a vision, Joe, it was,

  1335. James,

1336. the brother of Jesus or James, the apostle.

1337. You know? And if that happened, I would

1338. not even share that with you. Okay that

1339. would be wrong, I believe. So,

1340. but give you an example. Let's say that

  1341. I wrote a letter to...

  1342. No. Not I wrote. Let's say

1343. There was a letter that was dug up

  1344. later

1345. that it was from Joe,

  1346. from Blessed Valley,

1347. a server of the Lord

  1348. to our live streamers.

  1349. Right?

1350. Now follow this, man, this gets interesting. So

1351. I wanted to illustrate this to you. And

  1352. you get years later, it's a a hundred

1353. years after the, you know, lesson right right

  1354. now.

1355. And like, oh, wow. Check this out. Some

1356. of these churches have this letter that Joe

1357. wrote by hand because Internet was down. You

1358. know, Christians were not to using him or

1359. whatever. Right? And as as Joe, a servant

  1360. at blessed Hope Chapel

1361. to the blessed hope live streams in the

  1362. blessed hope churches. Right?

1363. Who would you think wrote it?

1364. A, but what if I died in so

  1365. many years,

1366. and another joe becomes the pastor.

1367. And there is the continues to grow. We

1368. continue to reach other people.

1369. And now that path that guy's been passed

1370. for 30 plus years, and then over 40

  1371. plus years,

  1372. and he dies.

1373. Now you can't be sure.

1374. A, but what would you look for?

1375. What are the circumstances in the letter?

1376. Now if the letter is addressed to live

  1377. streams and fellowship,

1378. you know, in, you know,

  1379. Idaho,

1380. in Mexico and you know, Costa Rica and

1381. then live streams in various areas that we

  1382. have our live groups.

1383. The what would you think?

1384. Think this Joe. Right? Oh, but what if

1385. you continue to read and said to those

1386. live stream groups and the live groups we

1387. have throughout China, and the fellowship that are

1388. throughout China now. And and the churches that

1389. are throughout, you know, New Zealand and and

1390. and in Russia and in a iraq that

  1391. are that are growing

  1392. churches.

1393. Well, that's not happening right now.

1394. But it was... Let's say that was happening

1395. under the second Joe. Right? It grew. Then

1396. you think it was that? Which Joe? The

1397. second Joe. Are you with me? So let's

1398. look at who this is addressed to and

1399. what the circumstances were during the time when

1400. this was probably a written. Okay? Think that

  1401. is very interesting.

  1402. James 1 1 again.

  1403. Okay?

  1404. James 1 1.

1405. James, a servant of God and in the

1406. lord Jesus Christ. To the 12 tribes were

1407. scattered among the nation's, greetings or dispersed among

  1408. the nations.

1409. It's writing when it's writing to who.

1410. To Jews and gentile believers or just Jewish

  1411. believers. Just Jewish believers?

  1412. That's important to understand.

1413. Because the early church, during the time of

1414. the apostle James was exclusively Jewish.

  1415. Okay?

1416. And by the way, it's like, well, why

1417. isn't he just right? The apostle James? Just

  1418. we're we we're possible there? Why isn't... If

1419. it's the other James doesn't he to say

1420. James, the brother of Jesus or at least

1421. what Jude did and say the brother of

1422. Jude, give us a hint. You know?

1423. The both of those arguments are arguments from

  1424. silence.

1425. It'll don't get you far. But if James

1426. was an apostle and he wrote went all

1427. he's an apostle, they would all know who

1428. he was, they would know it's he has

  1429. apostolic authority.

1430. Where after his death, if it's James the

  1431. son is Eb, he doesn't... He's not a

1432. quote quote apostle, but he would still have

1433. authority because he's the leader or the pastor

1434. or at least a senior pass we could

1435. call them my guess at the church in

  1436. Jerusalem.

  1437. So...

1438. But notice who it's addressed to, the jews

  1439. who are dispersed

  1440. they're dispersed.

  1441. They're scattered.

  1442. It's to Jews.

  1443. Okay?

  1444. Now,

1445. When did the scatter take place? This gets

1446. really interesting. Get to know our bibles better,

1447. get to know what's going on in church

  1448. history?

1449. When did the scatter take place?

1450. Not long after the day of Pent cost

  1451. actually.

1452. Most scholars believe it was 34

  1453. or 35

  1454. ad d. Okay?

1455. Some believe it was even earlier than that.

  1456. But let's go with 34, 35 ad d

  1457. because that's when Stephen

  1458. was marty.

1459. I said James was the first apostle that

1460. was marty. He wasn't the first 1 marty

  1461. in the church.

1462. John the Baptist was marty as he's was

1463. starting the church, but Stephen, the Dea

1464. was the first marty in the book of

1465. acts in acts chapter 7.

    Acts 7 chapter mention

  1466. Guess what happened.

1467. Paul is a leader among this hand he,

1468. and he's going house to house. He's going

  1469. to promise to promise.

1470. Right? And before he's converted on the road

1471. to Damascus. Right? He's going everywhere. Dragging Krishna

1472. out of the homes is causing the blast

1473. Christ. He imagine the guilty dealt with.

1474. He had tormented him he praise God. He

1475. was called himself the chief of sinner,

1476. and causing them to blast team and threatening

1477. them with death. He oversaw Steven's death

  1478. in acts 7.

1479. That's powerful The whole chapter which his about

  1480. Steven's death,

1481. But what happens as result of Stephen's death.

1482. Look at acts chapter 8, the very next

    Acts 8 chapter mention

1483. chapter, and what do we read?

  1484. Verse 1,

  1485. Acts 8 verse 1,

    Acts 8:1

1486. Saul was in hearty agreement with putting him

1487. that is Steven to death.

  1488. And on that day,

1489. a great. And by the word, the word

  1490. right there great,

1491. for surface you like this is mega.

1492. Okay? But it was a great

1493. persecution began against the church in Jerusalem,

1494. and they were all what,

  1495. scattered

  1496. throughout the regions of

  1497. And Sam.

  1498. Accept the apostles.

  1499. What apostles?

1500. Peter, James, John and the rest of the

  1501. apostles.

  1502. They stayed in Jerusalem.

1503. God protected them because that was their base

1504. at at that time. Some devout men buried

1505. Stephen and made loud limitation over him.

1506. But saw before he became the apostle paul,

1507. began ra the church, began what? Ra the

  1508. church.

1509. Entering house after house and dragging off men

1510. and women. He would put them in prison.

1511. So notice in the in the beginning of

1512. that text it says, there was a great

1513. persecution and they were wet.

  1514. They were scattered.

1515. That's long before James marty them, the apostle.

1516. Churches is already scattered. Are you with me?

1517. Also, we read in acts chapter 11.

    Acts 11 chapter mention

1518. Meanwhile, the believers verse 19, who had been

1519. scattered during the persecution after Stephen's death travel

  1520. as far as Pho,

1521. cypress and antioch of Syria

  1522. interesting.

1523. Not it's gonna tie tit you meetings things

1524. together, but I'm gonna resist a temptation. They

1525. preach the word of God, but only to

  1526. who

1527. jews. And then if you keep reading and

1528. then it goes out, begins to go to

  1529. the gentile.

  1530. But

1531. further down. After the scatter, the gospel will

1532. still go mainly to the Jews, but now

  1533. in acts chapter 10 and 11,

    Acts 10 chapter mention

  1534. Remember,

1535. Cornelius get saved and the door begins to

1536. open to the gentile towels. Not begins. It

1537. does. It just open to the gentile towels.

1538. Just before James is marty.

  1539. Isn't this interesting.

1540. Now, let's look at a map of the

  1541. scatter

  1542. that took place

  1543. here you see,

1544. you can see where all those arrows come

1545. out from Jerusalem where they're scattered to Same

1546. area, you know, and and throughout J and

1547. so forth and actually even beyond those areas.

1548. The church was actually scattered. And now you

  1549. have a problem

  1550. because all these Christians

1551. who... By the way, many of these Christians

1552. came from all these different regions of the

1553. world. Right? For what celebration, the day of

  1554. what.

  1555. Pent. Day, amen.

  1556. That's a day of harvest.

1557. Right? And on Harvest day, and the 7

1558. feast are all fulfilled by Jesus. 4 of

1559. these feasts are already fulfilled. Harvest feast is

1560. 1 of them That's when the great harvest

1561. of souls would go out. Hey, man. All

1562. kinds of believers are coming for the day

  1563. of Pent,

1564. and they're hearing about the resurrected Christ by

1565. the apostles. Many of them stay there.

1566. Hell Jews that are having disputes with the

1567. native Jewish Widows because they're not getting the

1568. same treatment the widows are and all these

1569. different things are going down. And but they're

1570. settling there because they meet all their brothers

1571. and sisters in Christ. You have all 3001

1572. day, little right after that 4000 saved. And

1573. all kinds of people can say the church

1574. is growing, but now it's persecuted. They're being

1575. hunted by Paul and others. And now they're

  1576. all over the place.

1577. And in those days, the early church was

1578. meeting wear. Do you remember where they're meeting

1579. it at first in the book of acts?

  1580. Where would they go?

  1581. Houses, but also wear?

1582. It starts the Synagogue. Amen. There... Did you

1583. know the Jews and the gentile towels... Are,

1584. I'm sorry. The Jews, the Jewish believers had

1585. relations with the non jewish believers to degree

  1586. at the Synagogue?

1587. And they were tolerated for a while. And

1588. then throughout the book of x, you see

1589. they get more and more persecuted.

1590. So it's interesting. So these guys are settling

1591. in In fact, it's interesting.

1592. Look at James chapter 2 verse 2, very

    James 2:2

  1593. interesting.

  1594. It says this,

1595. For if a man comes to your assembly,

1596. see the words assembly there, the Greek I

1597. have the Greek up there. It's soon

  1598. gone.

  1599. Okay? Ci.

1600. And I'm sorry. I got that run. Sun

1601. go gain. K? Soon Go again. The Greek

1602. word. That's the Greek word for Synagogue.

  1603. Synagogue game.

1604. And that's the only time that's ever used

  1605. of a

1606. a synagogue go gain was what,

1607. says, for if a man comes

1608. to your assembly of the believers, you're synagogue

1609. go on or so On, sort a Go

1610. gain. I'm used saying episode of Go. Okay?

  1611. Which is

1612. another word for Gathering, which is related to

  1613. a synagogue, but here it's a sin go

1614. gain. If they come to your synagogue,

1615. with a gold ring James says and dress

1616. and fine clothes and there also comes any

1617. a poor man in dirty closing that tell

1618. them how to treat each other. They were

1619. meeting early on in the Synagogue.

1620. Which fits with verse 1. That's to the

1621. jews have been scattered. Right? It's not that

1622. they weren't meeting the houses too. Sure a

1623. lot of them were, but they were also

  1624. going to Synagogue.

1625. Preaching the word and and and sharing sharing

1626. the gospel and non believing Jews can hear

1627. the gospel that way too. But it's interesting.

  1628. I think it's really interesting because

  1629. check this up.

1630. Who does James in chapter 15, the second

  1631. James?

  1632. The son

1633. or the brother of Jesus? Who does he

1634. address in his letter in acts 15. Look

  1635. at acts 15 verse 23.

    Acts 15:23

  1636. To the what?

  1637. To the gentile

  1638. to the gentile,

1639. believers in antioch Syria and Greetings.

1640. When he writes his letter, the gospel will

1641. spread to the gentile towels by then.

1642. Okay? It just started the the door to

1643. the Gentile was just opened not long before

1644. the first James, the apostle death. He's writing

  1645. the gentile house.

1646. This is 1 of the indications that James

1647. was not written after this church council.

1648. Because if James was written after the church

1649. Council when... When Gentile towels were brought in,

1650. and there was a dispute. You remember act

1651. 15, it was a dispute as to whether

1652. or not Gentile towels had to be whacked...

1653. I'm not let's just say, ci sized.

  1654. Okay?

1655. There was a dispute where they had actually

1656. be ci size or not to be... To

  1657. become Christians.

1658. And James is saying do out the book

1659. of Acts or in acts 15 and and

  1660. Paul and Peter

1661. So for no. They don't have to become

1662. jews. Our fathers couldn't keep the yoke law.

1663. How could how can we put this on

1664. the back of the gentile and so... And

1665. he's writing the gentile towels. So guess what?

1666. If you're writing, you're including gentile towels in

1667. the gospel after this, or you think you're

1668. gonna leave them out of your letter. When

1669. you bring up the law which he does

1670. more than once you're gonna not bring up

1671. that dispute, so they have understanding that... No.

1672. No that's brought up, which is why it's

1673. so indicative and with this, I agree with

1674. many modern scholars. That this James, whoever this

  1675. James is, he wrote

  1676. probably around 44

  1677. or probably or maybe before 44 80 d.

1678. But even those who believe that many scholars

  1679. today, like Douglas Moo,

  1680. that James,

1681. the brother of Jesus wrote this,

1682. They don't believe he wrote it after this

  1683. after x 15, but before.

1684. But now he's got thread the needle.

1685. Because now he's got a thread the needle.

1686. Before the council and after the death of

  1687. James.

  1688. That's why they'll say, oh 40 40 80.

  1689. But that's so arbitrary.

1690. But they have to to put it on

1691. James the brother of Jesus

1692. because they don't wanna to put it after

1693. the acts 15 deal because the letter doesn't

1694. make a lot of sense then.

1695. They know it's earlier these scholars I'm talking

1696. about, that believes it's the brother of James.

1697. I'm sorry, The brother of Jesus. But they

1698. don't wanna put too early because guess what?

1699. Then it looks like it was by the

  1700. apostle James,

1701. which I believe a lot of evidence does

1702. indicate that because listen to this.

1703. The day of harvest. The day of Pent

1704. cost. All these Christians become all these Jews

1705. become Christians. They're like, man, we wanna stay

1706. here. They're Jews from different tribes, like Paul

1707. was from the tribe of benjamin. He'd gets

  1708. saved later though. Right? There's there's

1709. 1 in the ut testament I mentioned from

  1710. the Tribe of Asher. Who's a believer. There's,

1711. of course, those from the Tribe of Judah.

1712. And so forth. But you have these believers

  1713. scattered.

  1714. Now this is interesting.

1715. When you think it through on the day

  1716. of harvest.

1717. They were the first believers.

1718. They were the Jewish believers. They were the

1719. first fruits. Look at how James addresses them

1720. and acts checked us out. I'm sorry, In

  1721. James chapter 1

    James 1:18

  1722. verse 18.

  1723. James,

  1724. we read

  1725. that's from verse 1. I jumped to verse

1726. 18 then to the 12 tribes scattered among

1727. the nations that's from verse 1, greetings.

1728. In the exercise of his will, now I'm

  1729. verse 08:18,

1730. he brought us forth by the word of

1731. truth, so that we would be a kinda

  1732. of what?

1733. First fruits among his creatures. These are the

1734. believers that first got saved out the day

1735. of Pent and after that. And then we're

1736. scattered abroad. When was a scattered about according

  1737. to many scholars?

  1738. 34

  1739. 35

1740. ad. I'm just gonna tell you from a

1741. pastor perspective. If blessed up here, got scattered

1742. all over the place, and I didn't have

  1743. the internet. Didn't have... I couldn't text you,

  1744. email you or anything.

1745. I'm not gonna sit around waiting 10 years

  1746. to write to you.

  1747. Do you understand that?

1748. What's so hard? Oh, the pent weighs so

  1749. much? No.

1750. I need to write to you. Okay. That

1751. doesn't mean the lord didn't have reasons. His

1752. ways are higher than our our ways. That

1753. he didn't wait 09:10 years. But if if

1754. Stephen was marty and the scattered had happened

  1755. at 34 30 5AD, and James his marty

  1756. in 40 4AD. That gives him almost 10

1757. years to write this letter. Are you with

  1758. me? Amen.

1759. K. Where you sound more than 65 percent

  1760. there, Joe.

  1761. Well, I'm that's because I'm halfway through the.

1762. And I'm like, looking at and like, well,

  1763. this is quite interesting.

1764. So they're going through all their trials. That's

1765. why he's saying considered all joy, you know,

1766. Don't be angry all these things. Right? He's

1767. warning... He's concerned about people falling away. Be

1768. concerned about people falling away if we all

  1769. got scattered.

1770. That's why he enters the pistol brother if

1771. any among you turn from the truth, and

  1772. 1 brings him back I'll save a soul

1773. from death the hide him all sense. He's

1774. trying to make sure those who were scattered.

  1775. Don't commit apostasy. Amen.

  1776. Now this is interesting.

1777. Because look at what Douglas move rights. And

  1778. I I respect a lot of his academic

1779. research and and and him as a scholar

  1780. in many ways. He's reformed. I don't agree

1781. with his calvin, but look what he states

  1782. here.

1783. Doug sm says, but James was put to

  1784. death by Hero Grip.

1785. And he just currently dismiss James by the

1786. way, the apostle. Look this how he does

  1787. it.

1788. But James was put to debt by hero

1789. in Grip, the first, perhaps in about 80

  1790. 44.

1791. Most agree with that. And and we probably

1792. ticked as 6 out. Okay? And we went?

1793. Probably should not date the letter of James

  1794. quite this early.

  1795. Why?

  1796. We probably

  1797. why not?

1798. I think it's biased his confirmation because he

1799. doesn't wanna to be the other James.

1800. Okay? Because he has his reasons for it

1801. to be the brother of jesus. Okay? That's

1802. But he... It doesn't know though.

  1803. Why not 43

  1804. before he's murdered. Why not 42.

  1805. Why not 41 went that 41 at 39

  1806. 01:38 Went at 37 wednesday Thursday. I believe

1807. personally, the letter could been written anywhere between

  1808. the mid thirties

  1809. and early forties.

  1810. Very likely,

  1811. Why not?

1812. Could have been written later than that? Yeah

1813. before the council, you're gonna have to pigeon

1814. and hold it in about 44, though, 44,

  1815. 45 or so.

1816. But look what Moe says.

1817. And I'm gonna just... I'm not even gonna

1818. read the next, but you to the next

1819. quote from me. Here he basically says, because

1820. I'm wanna cover more important stuff. But here

1821. points out in this quote I have from

1822. his book. That the circumstances

1823. in which James wrote does not indicate that

1824. these guys were Christians for very long when

1825. you read James, that it fits the idea

1826. of them being newer Christians end danger falling

  1827. away and so forth.

  1828. Okay? Now I think it's interesting. Let's look

1829. at the next slide, where move states. Now

1830. states here in the next slide.

  1831. Doug Moo says James.

  1832. This is important.

  1833. Next slide.

1834. James, he says, was probably written in the

  1835. what.

  1836. Middle forties.

1837. Perhaps just before the apostolic council.

1838. Why did you say that? Because he knows

1839. that probably wasn't written after the episode council.

1840. So he puts it just before

  1841. around web.

  1842. 44,

  1843. 45, 46.

1844. You're getting really close to James the apostle

  1845. there,

  1846. but it's still arbitrary.

1847. There's no reason he can't put it

1848. 44 or 43. But by saying the mid

1849. 40 guess what. That allows

1850. Would you say mid forties would be 43

  1851. 44 45 46 47, maybe?

1852. That would... Insult encompass when James Apostle was

1853. still the prominent possible in 43 44.

1854. There's nothing to say it wasn't written in

  1855. 35 36 37.

  1856. Okay?

1857. I just think this is really interesting.

  1858. Now,

  1859. some internal evidence,

  1860. some internal evidence.

  1861. I think this is a crazy. Let's say

1862. another analogy along these lines.

  1863. Let's say,

1864. you come to blessed hope,

  1865. and

1866. you find out there's a message that People

1867. say it's a really good message you should

1868. check it out. But nobody has a message

1869. on audio because remember the Internet was shut

1870. down and Joe's been arrested, and 1 of

  1871. the elders preached it.

1872. And you don't know which Elder because you

1873. just transcript of the message, but doesn't say,

1874. who, says 1 of the elders. But then

1875. you read it, and there's different analog

1876. in the letter. Try to figure out whether

1877. it was pastor Steve or whether there's was

1878. John or Chad. And there's 3 different illusions

  1879. to wrestling and stuff.

1880. Who would you think it... Who would you

  1881. think wrote it probably?

  1882. Chad.

1883. Well, guess what? This guy who writes the

1884. book of James. Seems like he's really into

  1885. the sea.

1886. He seems like a man of the sea.

  1887. Okay? In fact, it's interesting. I wish I

1888. get deeper into this, but look at James

  1889. 1 6.

  1890. Okay?

  1891. He says this.

1892. Okay? He warned or he talks about, but

1893. he must ask in faith being those who

1894. ask from the lord without any doubting for

1895. the 1 who doubts is like the what.

1896. The surface the sea driven and tossed by

1897. the wind. I don't see these many illusions

1898. in this much space to fishing in the

1899. sea. But in this book.

1900. Was James, the brother of Jesus the fisherman?

1901. No. No. We don't think he was. Here's

1902. probably a craftsman carpenter like Jesus. And like,

  1903. his father, Joseph.

  1904. K? But guess what? He's comparing a weakness

1905. of faith, doubting to being, like the waves

1906. of the sea that are being shifted and

1907. being driven by tossed by wins. Amen. Think

  1908. about that.

1909. Did not James yet possible about that kind

1910. of experience? When he's being tossed around even

1911. as a fishermen by the waves and he's

1912. just about ready to go down, and he's

1913. like, Jesus wake up. Right? The possibly wake

1914. up and what did the diseases do? Rebuke

1915. Simpson Oh, y of what?

1916. Little faith. Whoa, man. It seems like this

1917. is made a personal experience,

1918. comparing a little faith to being tossed to

1919. and fro. Oh and then guess what. When

1920. he talks about the tongue in James chapter

    James 3 chapter mention

1921. 3. Look at the next verses. Look what

1922. he says in James chapter 3, look at

    James 3 chapter mention

1923. the ships also. The ships

1924. You know? He's always on the water before

1925. Jesus comes, he's always checking up the ships

1926. and the tossing into the sea,

1927. although they are so great and are driven

1928. by strong winds are still directed by very

1929. small rudder, wherever the inclination of the pilot

  1930. desires.

1931. So also the tongue is a small part

1932. of the body. Yeah had it boasts great

  1933. things.

1934. Oh, and what about fishing. Look at James

    James 1:14

1935. 01:14. I wish Had time to get in

1936. this more. But each 1 is tempted when

  1937. he is carried away

  1938. carried it away

1939. or in carry way is x alcohol, which

1940. is the mean means lured.

1941. And ent, oh, ent is Del, which means

1942. to catch by using bait.

  1943. He's using he's

1944. showing pictures of temptation with bait and, you

  1945. know,

  1946. lure and

1947. this guy's mind seems to be a little

1948. bit influenced not just by the certain amount,

1949. but at least a little bit a lot

1950. by certain amount, but by fishing and the

1951. sea. Okay? Could be a coincidence that this

1952. carpenter just really loves you Allergies. I don't

1953. know. You know? But it's just kinda interesting.

1954. And by the way, the parallels

  1955. By the way,

1956. when... And now I go back for a

1957. moment to the sermon of the mountain.

1958. Saturated, And I don't wanna go too deep

  1959. into that.

1960. But when you think of the sermon them

1961. out guys, this is important

  1962. is

1963. no 1 pretty much virtually very few if

  1964. any scholars believe

1965. that sermon the mount was written

1966. before James the apostle died.

1967. But guess when it was written.

1968. Before the Apostle Paul died.

1969. Okay? I personally believe there is a great

1970. book out there called the Jesus Pap.

  1971. It's also known as a Mag manuscript. It's

1972. a little part of Matthew. And the Jesus

1973. think it was Carson feed that wrote this

1974. a scholar that is a expert in pap,

1975. you know, and paleo and and he took

  1976. a,

1977. for instance, he looked at that little piece

  1978. of matthew.

1979. The Jesus Pap and wrote a whole book

  1980. on it,

1981. and which causes quite a standout there's has

1982. been that there was a television documentary made

1983. on his findings, you know? Not that it's

1984. not disputed, but he took

1985. he... The script, and he said, look at

1986. the script, this was the script they were

1987. using the middle of the first century.

  1988. Right?

1989. And this is also very interesting. You know

1990. what else He says? He takes a... What

1991. was it? It was ep,

  1992. fluorescent microscope.

1993. And he looks at the threads, the the

1994. the the he looks at the Pap.

1995. And he dates it to, like, the middle

1996. or and to or and to a little

1997. bit later in the first century.

1998. We don't even need that. You know why?

1999. Because the apostle paul in second Timothy

2000. writes this. Listen to this, and you can

2001. look at the scripture. First timothy chapter 5

    1 Timothy 5:18

2002. verse 18. For the scripture says,

2003. the scripture, that's the written word. You shall

2004. not muzzle the ox quoted the old testament

  2005. while it's t.

2006. And now he quotes Jesus from the new

2007. testament. The labor is worthy of his what.

  2008. Wages.

  2009. He's calling Jesus, words

2010. scripture, which is written word, and he's quoting

  2011. from luke 10 7 or Matthew 10:10.

    Matthew 10:10

2012. And Luke was written after Matthew. Almost all

2013. scholars agree with that. What's going on there?

2014. Paul has the written word of God? He

2015. has all the discourse. In fact, when you

2016. read first and second thessalonians,

2017. I believe person that Paul had matthew open

2018. to him and the holy spirit led him

2019. as he wrote from there. But did James

2020. the apostle have that ability?

2021. Probably not. But guess why he had. He

2022. was what, an Eye witness of the sermon

  2023. the mount.

2024. And Jesus out him what he was taught

  2025. to teach others Amen.

2026. So what I'm saying is the author of

  2027. James

2028. being an early book did not have, I

2029. don't believe the gospel matthew yet.

2030. Scholars don't believe that Matthew, the gospel is

  2031. written

2032. when many scholars today put the book of

  2033. James.

2034. But guess who was there and was a

2035. witness to it. James the apostle. Are you

2036. with me? So it makes sense that this

2037. would be James the apostle.

2038. In that regard. By the way, look at

2039. the scripture Look what Jesus said in the

2040. sermon mount, Matthew chapter 5 verse 34.

    Matthew 5:34

2041. But I tell you, you shall not... Do

2042. not swear an oath at all, either by

2043. Heaven for his God's throne or by the

2044. Earth for his his foot or by Jerusalem.

2045. For it is a city of the Great

2046. king. He goes on say, a little bit

  2047. further down.

2048. All you need to say is simply yes

2049. or no. Anything beyond this comes from the

2050. evil 1. Look what James writes in James

    James 5:12

  2051. 05:12.

2052. But above all my brother do not swear

2053. either by heaven or by Earth

2054. or with any other oath, but Your yes

2055. is to be yes, and your no and

2056. no so that you may not fall under

  2057. judgment. Sound familiar.

2058. This change was radically impacted by disturbing them

  2059. out, guys.

2060. And when it was written as early as

2061. it was written, it wasn't written yet. James

2062. his brother was nowhere to be seen and

2063. I didn't believe in him when the sort

2064. of not was given. James the apostle,

2065. I believe was radically impacted by that

  2066. Sermon.

2067. So you know who wrote for sure,

2068. for sure. Absolutely sure. I'm convinced

2069. without a shadow doubt. The book of James.

2070. Not I'm not gonna... I'm not convinced be

2071. honest shout out what was James the possible.

2072. Although sure looks like him when you look

2073. at him in this thing. I'm not convinced

  2074. as James

2075. brother Jesus. Although there's some convincing things that

2076. I might be think very well could be

  2077. him too.

  2078. I'm convinced and I have no doubt. It's

2079. written the holy spirit name amen. The God

2080. wrote it impacted the church radically. And that's

2081. where I will stand. I'm dogma on that.

2082. I'm not dogma. I'm script sc on that.

2083. So I wanna encourage you guys by way

  2084. of

  2085. just

  2086. considering this.

  2087. I'm excited with you

2088. to get into the book of James. Amen

  2089. And

2090. I wanna encourage you to keep in mind,

2091. when you look at the circumstances which you

2092. studying now that James has written,

2093. and now the church was not just per

2094. believers or are other believers in other areas

2095. of these provinces that were not as persecuted.

2096. But you see how wonderful this book is

  2097. for all of us.

2098. Whether you're dealing with persecution or whether you're

2099. just dealing with trials in general. It's an

  2100. amazing book.

2101. So I've seen that my time is gone.

2102. We're gonna stand up and pass out the

2103. cup in the bread. Amen.

2104. It's something to think about Right? A lot

2105. of things think about is exciting.

2106. I wanna say to you guys, though.

2107. If by way of application, because you get...

2108. Guess what I want you listen carefully as

2109. we're passing out the cup of the bread.

  2110. You guys.

2111. There's gonna things that Gonna gotta really tick

2112. you off. The more you love Jesus, the

2113. more prone you're gonna be to become upset

  2114. over these things.
