Do you know the Bible is God's Holy Word? Do you know it is
-
inspired, in errant, and infallible? If so, like, share,
-
subscribe and support this podcast. So we are mere Natho Ministries and now Reduction
-
draweth Nigh. Welcome, Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to the program. We
-
are your host, Mariah and Matthew. Tonight we're getting back to the fundamentals.
-
Tonight's topic is hope, because this very disturbing verse in First Corinthians,
-
chapter thirteen, Verse thirteen states it very very painfully and very plainly. It
-
just makes it perfectly clear that the fundamentals of Christianity is a whole lot well
-
different than what everybody presupposes because that versus Now, faith, hope, and
-
love abide these three. But the greatest of these is love. So states
-
the English Standard version. This thought process caught me by complete surprise. But
-
yet it's there, and it's in your faith Christians, Hope, faith,
-
and love. And if you don't do those three things, you are fundamentally
-
not what you say you are. So ryan you're opening comments on hope.
-
Well, I don't know. I guess I'll just start by saying, what
-
are we without hope again. That was what we said last week. What
-
are we without love? What are we without hope? And exactly we're like
-
everybody else. Yeah, I mean you understand that everybody else don't believe that
-
Jesus Christ is God the Son. They don't believe he read they they do
-
not believe that they themselves even last eternally when they do, they think.
-
You know, they've been taught via the education system that once you die,
-
you just blink out. You're done. So they literally have no hope.
-
This is what has created the apocalyptic suicide rate. We have a young people.
-
That's what's done it. They have no hope. What what are we
-
if we can't hope for Christ coming back? I mean that's our whole thing,
-
right, you know, we hope in the return of Christ. Right,
-
we like literally can't wait. We're so excited, Like I want Jesus
-
to come back. Right because when Jesus comes back, he sets up the
-
Garden of Eden as it was supposed to be ran. That's really where we're
-
going. And this is going to take place for a thousand literal years.
-
And take note, ladies and gentlemen, if you come from a church,
-
that is all millennial. They don't believe in the millennial reign of Christ.
-
That's just enough to just let me put it to you this way. Even
-
the Muslims believe that Jesus is going to come back in the end times.
-
So without this, you're not what you say you are. If you say
-
there is no point when the Creator gets to have his creation the way he
-
wanted it and designed it, you're something else. You're different than me,
-
okay, because my entire will is bent on him having his will. And
-
after a lifetime of Christianity, that will has naturally been bent straight. Because
-
my carnal nature, I have it crooked. But as every day goes by,
-
it gets straightened out more and more and comes in line with what his
-
will was, which was the Garden of Eden. And these all millennials,
-
Oh, they mash their teeth at that. They hate God, They hate
-
his will, they hate what he wants. They hate that he's the creator
-
and he's going to judge. They hate all of that. So a Christian
-
is diametrically opposed to all their emotions, their lies, their deceit, their
-
murders, their hortoms. Were separate from all that we have hope. They
-
don't because we hope. That's right. We hope and something better that's right,
-
and that better will be established for a thousand year iron fisted rule of
-
the Lord Jesus Christ. Those that are innocent will not come under the subterfuge
-
or the trials and tribulations anymore from the wicked that quite simply will not be
-
tolerated. I have some verses and I want to start with first of the
-
one is the one that you've put in the document. But I'm going to
-
scroll down to the last few verses because those are the ones that hit home
-
with me. For we know that the whole of creation groans and suffers the
-
pains of childbirth together until now. And not only this, but also we
-
ourselves, having the first fruits of the spirit, even we ourselves grown within
-
ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.
-
For in hope we have been saved. But hope that is not seen
-
is not hope, for who hopes and what he all already seas. But
-
if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance, we way
-
eagerly for it. That's literally what the entirety of this versus saying that's it
-
right there, that's it, And it's literally saying that the entire creation grows
-
to get from out from underneath the boot of the rule of the wicked.
-
Okay, I mean, how many animals have gone, you know, extinct
-
and we don't even know. Okay, how many beautiful pristine rainforest have been
-
raped and literally made desolate entire rainforest? Okay, I mean we could go
-
on. How many swamps, which is the lifeblood of creation itself, they
-
produce so much oxygen. Okay, how many swamps have been drained? It
-
just is enough to blow the mind. But I like these last persons where
-
it's talking about in hope, we have been saved, right, First of
-
all, that's the first thing it says, in hope we have been saved.
-
But hope that is seen is not hope. So we can't hope in
-
things that we can see. That's right, for who hopes and what he
-
already sees. But if we hope for what we don't see, with perseverance,
-
we wait eagerly for it, that's right. So how how can we
-
be saved if we don't hope for the things we can't see? That is
-
Jesus. That is Jesus. Yes, we have hope that Jesus is there
-
with us. We have hope that Jesus is coming back. And therefore therefore
-
we up Jesus into our hearts. Therefore we believe. Therefore we become Christians.
-
I mean, what was the other verse that you said that literally?
-
I mean, is can we believe without hope? No, that that's pointless.
-
You have no hope. This is what the munda. You know,
-
vast swaths of the church is doing right now. They claim to be Christians
-
and they're doing Christianity, but they do not hope in the Lord Jesus Christ.
-
I mean, that is enough to really rattle your cage when you're able
-
to realize the extent that this goes on. Because most people that sit in
-
the pew, they read their Bibles, right, yeah, and they completely
-
read Revelation chapter twenty and come to the conclusion that the Creator is going to
-
have it his way just like he wanted it in the Garden of Eden,
-
and that's going to transpire on the earth. That's really going to happen.
-
But you know, we need to come to grips with this that the Eastern
-
and Oriental Orthodox Churches. They don't believe in the millennial ray of Christ.
-
Roman Catholic Church doesn't. Do you know how many people you're talking about just
-
right now, let's talk about the Protestant denominations that reject the millennial ring of
-
Christ. They literally reject They don't think the hope. They don't think Christ
-
is coming back. That's right, Lutheran, Reformed, Anglican, Methodist,
-
and Messianic Jews. So what do they believe. They don't think Jesus is
-
coming back. They think he's going to come back and immediately hand it over
-
to God, and he's going to recreate the earth. They just literally remove
-
the millennial ran of Christ. They think he's going to come back everybody and
-
God the Father is going to recreate everything. They literally take Revelation chapter twenty
-
and remove it from the text. They literally have no hope. They have
-
literally a destroyed what the Bible calls the blessed hope. Okay, let's read
-
Titus chapter two, verses eleven through fifteen, For the grace of God has
-
appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly
-
possessions and to live self controlled upright and godly lives in the present age,
-
waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God
-
and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself up for us to redeem us from
-
all lawlessness and to purify for himself of people for his own possession who are
-
zealous for good works. Declare these things exhort and rebute with all authority.
-
Let no one disregards you. Period. At the end of the sentence,
-
they have rejected this blessed hope. They're saying that, no, God don't
-
get to have his own people here on earth to rule and reign over.
-
They reject that and say we're all going to get out of jail free and
-
go to heaven. Okay, this is loudly describing that the Lord Jesus Christ
-
is going to rule and reign over righteous people, and that happens for a
-
thousand years. They have rejected Titus chapter two, verse thirteen. They've rejected
-
the blessed hope. This isn't any hope, Mariah, it is the blessed
-
Oh yeah, is that enough to leave you stunned for a minute or what?
-
Yeah? I guess, But like in my opinion, it's not just
-
this one hope that that we're talking about here, it's hope in general.
-
You know, well, yeah, because this is why there's also another special
-
term you understand, the return and rule and rate of Christ. That's called
-
the blessed hope. It's a very special hope. The New Testament also has
-
another word for this. It's called the living hope. Okay, once you
-
understand that, once you memorize verses like this, you'll begin to understand why
-
they don't have any hope period. Blessed be the God and Father of our
-
Lord Jesus Christ. According to his great mercy, he has caused us to
-
be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the
-
dead. So here is the problem, Mariah. This verse is saying that
-
if you don't believe in the blessed hope, you don't have the living hope
-
because you have not been born again, you do not have the dwelling of
-
the Holy Spirit. Therefore you've hatered after the doctrines of demons. You understand.
-
Let me read that verse again and understand. This is more true than
-
the sky being blue. This is more true than water being wet. One
-
Peter, Chapter one, verse three. Blessed be God and Father of our
-
Lord Jesus Christ. According to his great mercy, he has caused us to
-
be born again to a living oak through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the
-
dead. They've not been born again. So all these church denominations that I
-
talked about when we're talking most of the church Eastern and Oriental Orthodox, both
-
of those Roman Catholicism, the Lutherans, the Reformed, the Anglican, the
-
Methodist. I'm sorry, I have to disagree with you. I don't think
-
that just because you haven't read that one part in the Bible, that you're
-
not a Christian. I didn't say you weren't a Christian. I said you
-
weren't born again. Yeah. I don't think that really, So how can
-
you contradict this verse. I'm not contradicting the verse. I'm just saying that
-
if if you haven't read that part of the Bible, and you don't know
-
that part of the Bible, I don't think that looks town says the living
-
hope that the Holy Spirit has. Whether you read it or not, is
-
it regardless, doesn't matter if you read it if you don't have your living
-
hope, it's because you're not born again. You don't have to read verse.
-
What do you mean about how do you define living hope? What the
-
verse said? You have been reborn through the resurrection of the Lord J's Christ.
-
So they've gotten saved, they've been baptizing to the Lutheran Church, the
-
Catholic Church, the Reformed Church. But they this verse is saying you have
-
not been born again if you don't have that living hope, which is the
-
blessed hope. Yeah, yes, yes, I know, you don't have
-
to agree with me. Yes, it is true. So you're saying the
-
hope that we've been saved, yes, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from
-
the dead. Oh, there's a big difference from getting saved at the altar
-
and being born again. Okay, I was just confused with what you're saying.
-
No, I agree with you. Well, I'm glad you asked for
-
clarification. Yeah, but when you realize how many churches this is affecting,
-
it's it's worrisome. To say the least. You have to believe that you've
-
been saved by the blood of Jesus Christ. You have to believe that he's
-
been born again, and you have to believe that he can essentially raise you
-
from the dead and cause you to be born again. If you can't have
-
hope in that, you can't believe. But yet they say they do believe.
-
Let me put it this way. If you can't have the hope that
-
you can be saved, you can't be saved. Yes, that's true.
-
That's true. And we both know that. You know. Well, let's
-
read some more verses. We haven't read Romans chapter five one through five yet,
-
have we. Okay, let me read that. Therefore, having been
-
justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
-
through whom we also have obtained our introduction by faith and to disgrace in which
-
we stand, and we exult in Ah of the glory of God. And
-
not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation
-
brings perseverance and perseverance, proven character and proven character, hope, and hope
-
does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts
-
through the Holy Spirit, who was given to us. It's saying it here
-
a different way. This is the dwelling of the Holy Spirit, and without
-
it you've not been born again, Mariah. And without it, once again,
-
I say what the earlier verse said. Without this, you've not been
-
born again, and you have no hote. You're a dead issue. I
-
mean, you can be a Catholic to the cows come home, you can
-
be a Lutheran from cradle to grave, and if you've not been born again,
-
John chapter three and first Peter chapter one, scream it out. I
-
mean, is in this saying that the Holy Spirit will give us hope?
-
Yes, yes, the only and this is part and parcel with with also
-
the Bible saying that when the Holy Spirit comes, it will lead us into
-
all truth and will show us what is to come. What is to come,
-
Mariah, We've just been discussing him. What is the blessed hope,
-
the rule and the reign of the Lord Jesus Christ on the earth, having
-
set up a garden of Eden for a thousand years. And I don't know.
-
I love the way it puts this. It says, and perseverance,
-
proven character, and proven character hope. So if proven character causes hope,
-
isn't hope? An article of proof is a proof that you have that proven
-
character a man. Is it not proof that you know, if you go
-
defire yourself with a prostitute, isn't that proof you are not a Christian?
-
Okay, if you partake in and pay for any any way of doing this.
-
This includes pornography. Right, So if you're viewing pornography on the web,
-
okay, you are partaking with a Harley, right, doesn't matter if
-
that Harlod is a male or female. You are not a Christian, Mariah.
-
You do not have proven character instituted upon you through the power of the
-
Holy Spirit, the dwelling of the Holy Spirit. So yes, everything that
-
just came out of your mouth, that is true. That's true because that's
-
what the Bible said. This is how you know someone who's been born again.
-
I'll read it again. This is how you know somebody's been born again.
-
And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing
-
that tribulation brings perseverance and perseverance, proven character, and proven character. Hope.
-
That's how you know when somebody's been born again, no matter what happens,
-
no matter what they're faced with. I mean, how many times have
-
this family been faced with things all of them. Okay, let's talk about
-
this. What happened within weeks of you coming back home? We used to
-
have three vehicles, right, Okay? Did we weep and well? And
-
did we say God don't love us? And did we roll over and play
-
dead? What happened? I'll tell you what happened? Nothing, nothing happened.
-
And how many vehicles have we had since you've been born? Every one
-
of them. You need to understand that every one of them we never sold,
-
Mariah. They were junk so by the time that we had to get
-
another vehicle, we had to call the junkyard to come get it. We've
-
never sold one of our vehicles. That reminds me of another verse I put
-
in here. Let me see how I can find it. Yeah, it's
-
down there, I see it. Which is very troubling that you would include
-
this one in here, but to go for it. All right, So
-
I'm just going to go ahead and read the whole thing. Well, tell
-
everybody what you're reading first, and reading Jeremiah chapter twenty nine, verses one
-
through fourteen. Now, these are the words of the letter which Jeremiah the
-
Prophet sent from Jerusalem to the rest of the elders. Of the exile,
-
the priests, the prophets, and all the people whom nebecon Azer had taken
-
into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon. This was after a king jess Andiah and
-
the Queen Mother, the court officials, the princes of Judah and Jerusalem,
-
the craftsmen and the smiths had departed from Jerusalem. The letter was sent by
-
the hand of Alassa, the son of Shaffen, and Jamia, the son
-
of Hilkiah, whom Zedekiah, king of Judah, sent to Babylon, to
-
nebicon Azar, King of Babylon, saying, thus says the Lord of Hosts,
-
the God of Israel, to all the exiles whom I have sent into
-
exile. We'rem Jerusalem and Babylon. So this is to the people. This
-
is to the people who are in exile, not you, actually, yeah,
-
go ahead, build houses and live in them, and plant gardens and
-
eat their produce. Take wives and become fathers of sons and daughters. And
-
take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husband that they may
-
bear sons and daughters and multiply there and do not decrease. Seek the welfare
-
of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the
-
Lord on its behalf or in its welfare. You will have welfare. For
-
this, says the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel. Do not
-
let your prophets, who are in your mints and your diviners deceive you,
-
and do not listen to the dreams which they dream, for they prophise I
-
false leave you in my name. I have not sent them to clear the
-
Lord. For thus says the Lord. When seventy years have been completed for
-
Babylon, I will visit you and fulfill my good word to you to bring
-
you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you
-
to clear the Lord for welfare and not for calamity, to give you a
-
future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray
-
to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and
-
find me. When you search for me with all your heart, I will
-
be found by you, declares the Lord. And I will restore your fortunes
-
and will gather you from all your nations and from all the places where I
-
have driven you, declares the Lord. And I will bring you back to
-
the place from where I sent you into exile? Is this chapter not commanding
-
us to hope? Absolutely? And actually this is why only our prophecy model
-
works because this includes the Great gathering, so we hold to a relocation prophecy
-
model. This is true. This is why we hold to this because take
-
note, this is exactly what's going to happen in the future. It literally
-
states here that Okay, God himself will gather us from all the nations and
-
from all the places where I have driven you, declares to the Lord,
-
and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into
-
exile. This is h Yeah, I don't I don't have any word for
-
it, well except hope. Now, Uh, Mariah's flipping back and forth
-
from the Bible. Well, I deleted the verse numbers and want to rear
-
to the verses I highlighted. I don't know if you know which specific verses
-
those are. Well, so I'm trying to find it in my Bible so
-
I can refer to specific verses. I won't be easier if I just click
-
on it. Right, I've got it right here. Oh do you,
-
Jeremiah, what chapter you remember? You better remember build houses and live in
-
them, which verses five five through eight. So these verses aren't just talking
-
about a hope in the future coming back of Christ. That's right, that's
-
you're absolutely right. We are too, Yeah, that we are to occupy
-
all right. This is why the Lord Jesus Christ in the Garden of geth
-
sevene. Okay, that's why he said he prayed to God the Father,
-
do not take them out of the world, but keep them in the world.
-
Okay. So there's no such false teaching as being raptured to heaven.
-
That's not going to happen. We're not going to heaven. Jesus is coming
-
to earth, okay, And that's what this relocation will facilitate. And all
-
scriptures bear witness to the great gathering before the tribulation. But think about it
-
this way. We are meant to hope in whatever we do, right,
-
I mean right, God is commanding us to have hope now right now.
-
He doesn't want us to just be, you know, wallowing in our misery
-
and our self pity because the world is such a bad place. He wants
-
us to build houses and live in them gardens and eat their produce, build
-
families and multiply and seek the welfare of the city where we have been sent.
-
And then and then after he gives us all these commits, we get
-
further to the last few verses. That's what twelve eleven through fourteen he says,
-
then you will call upon me and pray to me. So these verses
-
he's expanding from the command of hope, and he's now he's going into the
-
promise of hope and the virtue of hope. And he's saying, then,
-
after you hope in all these things, after you've accepted me as being your
-
savior and your shepherd and your shield, then you will call upon me and
-
come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will
-
seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart,
-
and I will be found by you, declares the Lord. And I will
-
restore your fortunes and will gather you from all the nations and all the places
-
where I have driven you, declares the Lord. And I will bring you
-
back to the place from where I sent you into exile. So once you
-
give him that hope, then he's going to he's going to bring you under
-
his wings. Right, And I just think that that verse in that passage
-
is so precious. Well, it's very precious, because this is literally saying
-
that when he says he will come to you, that's the dwelling of the
-
spirit. You've been born again. Want steak, But how do you do
-
it? You must seek him with all your heart. Once you seek him
-
with all of your heart, that means you put your retirement aside. Yep.
-
Okay, you know long because this is mainly what people worry about.
-
Okay, ninety percent of the time they're worrying about how much their paycheck can
-
go to savings for retirement. Okay, you put that in the garbage you
-
start building up for the king. Take notes that it was amazing that you
-
are commanded to bear children and train them up in the Lord. Right,
-
and they're supposed to have children. You're supposed to be giving your sons and
-
daughters you know, to each other us. This is removing nationality from the
-
equation. Yep. Look. Romans chapters nine through eleven proves that the citizens
-
of the Israeli Empire are not God's chosen people. You are. Christians are
-
God's chosen people, and Christians are supposed to marry Christians, and Christians don't
-
have any skin color yeah, Okay. We are a coat of many colors,
-
so it really doesn't matter as long as you're yoke together with them through
-
your hope in the Lord Jesus Christ. Yep. Okay, So this it
-
just blows me a Wait that verse eleven comes right out and says it for
-
I know the plans I have for you. These the work plan does not
-
mean today. Plans are in the future, right, little plan. I
-
think what he's talking about here, he's talking about your whole time, the
-
entire timeline of Israel, God's chosen people. Those are Russian Christians, Polish
-
Christians, American Indian Christians. Yeah. Yeah. And as Christians, we
-
don't we don't worry about our mistakes we made in the past. I mean,
-
that's something that's something that's brought up a lot in church and in worship
-
songs, is we don't worry about what we did in the past. And
-
one of the main reasons for that is because we know that God has a
-
plan for us from beginning to end. He's got the whole story. And
-
let's let's clarify past. Your past is before you were Christian. Okay,
-
that's your past once you get saved you're in Israel, then it transfers to
-
the future. So your past actions you did before the Lord Jesus Christ saved
-
you, that's your past. Your future is in him. That is the
-
blame, I said, Hope, that is the living. And I would
-
like to point out something else about these same verses. Is this not describing
-
the salvation plan? Is this not describing salvation when you call upon him and
-
come and pray to him and listens to you, and you seek him and
-
you find him when you search with all your heart. That's what I said.
-
I just think I think that's amazing. I would like to back to
-
the last last week when we were talking about how love is a fundamental to
-
being saved. I think that it's with Hope. Well, well, I'm
-
beginning to think that their event horizon is the same place exactly. It's it's
-
that crisis moment whenever you cry out to God. I think I think we
-
proved this existentially in the in the last episode, because that I think that's
-
actually what's what he's saying that. Yeah, I think that to which you
-
must have faith, hope, and love, or that's what he gives you
-
upon salvation. I don't yeah, I think it's above our pay great,
-
okay, because this much is true. How many people got saved before they
-
understood that, you know, Genesis chapter one, Okay, But after they
-
got saved they had to faith enough to read Genesis chapter one and say,
-
yeah, I mean God's God. I mean, if he wanted to take
-
the work that on the first day, if he wanted it to take a
-
million years, he could have. But he didn't. He said he did
-
it in one day. And he said it even further, he said,
-
there is evening, there is morning one day. So this takes faith,
-
right. Yeah, So I'm not so sure that you're giving you you are
-
given faith, hope, and love upon being saved. I don't know.
-
Yeah, I think it goes both ways. And you admitted that yourself that
-
before you you were saved, you you you really weren't loving people too well,
-
right, I didn't even understand. And I think it's the same with
-
hope. Why why what I hope before I was saved? What's the point?
-
You know? No, I guess I don't know. I think Christ
-
gives us a different kind of boot. He he takes our book or any
-
bitty or any bitty little children's book. He opens it up and he writes
-
a whole new chapter, and that whole new chapter is like a whole leg
-
style. Right. Well, I mean this is for sure, many many,
-
many, many people have false hope. Okay, many people hope in
-
the lottery, right, so they played the lot I mean I've known,
-
I've worked with people that they would take like a hundred bucks out of every
-
every single paycheck. And there were times where I was having to give them
-
a ride because their vehicle broke down. I would have to be on pay
-
day. They want to go take it to go get it, and I'm
-
like, what are you doing? Then? So, yeah, you know,
-
there's a lot of people that hope in the stock market, they hope
-
in this, they hope in that, and then you know, along comes
-
some airplanes and crashes into their system. But there's all kinds of people that
-
how many people have faith in black magic? Let me tell you that's the
-
wrong thing to have faith and open, but many do. I mean,
-
you do know why that. I mean, there's not too many newspapers that
-
actually get printed anymore. But you realize one of the main items in the
-
newspaper is the horoscope, and they literally planned their day off that horse cope,
-
and in that is there is no hope. There is only death.
-
There's a reason why it's called black magic. Right. Well, I mean
-
that's the thing. There you go again bringing up a good point. Uh,
-
there's no hope in white magic, okay, And that's where a lot
-
of people get fooled. They're like, why am I doing black magic?
-
I'm only doing positive magic. Now you're gonna promptly burn in hell? Okay,
-
that's that. That's what's happening. We don't need to say that about
-
people we don't know. But yes, magic is very bad. It's not
-
positive. It is not what deceived people think it is, right because they're
-
deceived. It's not hope. The only place that we can find a real
-
living hope is with God. And you can you can figure that out when
-
you walk in any church to not be nation. When you talk to any
-
real Christians, you will see their hope. So, you know, Mariah,
-
you're bringing up a very painful point that you and I have been talking
-
at length about here lately. You know, where is the main hope for
-
today's generation actually being done? You think it's since you're at your normal brick
-
and mortar church. Is that where salvation is taking place? Is people getting
-
saved? There? No? Where is that actual? Where are there actually
-
alter calls where people can go turn their lives over to the Lord. J's
-
scratch, where's that happening? I mean you realize almost all the alters in
-
the churches across this nation have been pulled out, that there are no alter
-
calls anymore. Ye, I mean there is no one trying to proselyties the
-
lost at the damn, because that's what they are until they get saved.
-
I think though, and this goes, this goes with our word of hope.
-
I think it's scattered. I think it gets scattered and it's few in
-
between. But that's where we can find our hope. We can find those
-
little things that are doing a lot, and that's where we find hope.
-
I want to read this verse, and it doesn't come out and say the
-
word hope, but it is. It does mean a lot of hope.
-
And it's sorry I didn't write down hole verse in the document, but it's
-
and I love these verses verst. Thessalonian five or through ten. But you
-
brethren, are not in darkness that the day would overtake you like a thief.
-
For you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are
-
not of night nor of darkness. So then let us not sleep as others
-
do, but let us be alert and sober. For those who sleep to
-
their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night.
-
But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put
-
on the breastplate of faith and love and as a helmet the hope of salvation.
-
For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through
-
our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are
-
awake or asleep, we will live together with him. Therefore, encourage one
-
another in building and build one another up, just as you were doing.
-
This states it again, both those who are alive and remain and those that
-
have already fallen asleep, those who have already died, they're going to be
-
brought back to life, and we are going to live with him in the
-
re established garden of even yep. And it is plain into this is the
-
hope of our salvation. Even if we die, Okay, we are going
-
to be raged through the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are going
-
to live literally again, just like the Lord Jesus Christ be bopped around for
-
how long after he was cructified, he came and talked to at least five
-
hundred people saw him. There was no doubting what happened. That's what we're
-
going to do. And we have to keep that hope. And it's easier
-
said than done to remember the hope and to stay strong in that hope and
-
to live in that hope. It's it's easy to forget that you are a
-
creature of the day, that you are a son and a daughter of the
-
day and not of the night, that you have that hope of salvation.
-
And like I agree, I've been in those moments, you know, where
-
you you forget that there's hope and it feels like that you can't have that
-
hope. But as Christians, we are not only promised that hope, and
-
we are given that hope and then we are commanded that hope. And that's
-
that's how you came back right from you know, you're the first one in
-
the family that entered the ministry full time and come you know, and that
-
came to an end, right but you're not dead, are you. You're
-
already applying for different church camps because you know that's where God's saving people.
-
Because I have a hope. I have a hope, and I mean back
-
to Jeremiah twenty nine, I have a hope in God's plan for me.
-
I'm not gonna I'm not gonna let anything pull me down. You're not going
-
to roll over and play deck because you're not so and commanded to do otherwise
-
in my opinion, Right yeah, I'm not allowed to. Right right,
-
you're not allowed to. So what is this ominous reference here with no verses
-
about it? Either? Hebrew six. I was trying to do it really
-
fast, really well, yeah, that's really fast. Just Hebrew six.
-
So the whole chapter, I'm telling you right now, Hebrew six is more.
-
Is a whole lot more than you can choose, So don't write at
-
all. I was trying to find that very so fast, and I was
-
Hebrew. Hebrews an old destent. You were looking for Hebrew. That's when
-
I got to see that, man, I mean, that's that's really trick.
-
But if you're looking for the first reference, there is verse eleven in
-
chapter six. I mean, I don't know what your versus you. I
-
was just thinking that. And my Bible has it labeled better things for you
-
you versus nine twenty, And I just think that like this, this whole
-
chapter, I'm just gonna reade through it. This whole passage just has a
-
lot. But beloved, we are convinced of better things concerning you, and
-
things that accompany salvation. Though we are speaking in this way, for God
-
is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have
-
shown towards His name in having ministered and then still ministering to the saints.
-
And we desire that each of you show us the same diligence as to realize
-
the full assurance of hope until we end, so that you will not be
-
sluggish but imitators of those who, through faith and patience, inherit the promise.
-
Amen. For when God made the promise to Abraham, since he could
-
swear by no one greater, he swore by himself, saying I will surely
-
bless you, and I will surely multiply you. And so, having patiently
-
waited, he obtained the promise for men swear by one greater than themselves,
-
and with them. An oath given as confirmation is an end of every dispute.
-
In the same way, God desiring even more to show to the errors
-
of the promise, the unchangeableness of his purpose, interposed with an oath,
-
so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie,
-
we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the
-
hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor to the soul,
-
a hope both sure and steadfast, and one who enters within the veil
-
where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest
-
forever, according to the or of Melchiz, dead forever, no ways,
-
A man, I mean, it's amazing me when you read it. It
-
supercharges me, It excites me. I mean, there's just so much there,
-
and all of it is hope, right, And that's what it said,
-
Who are we if we cannot hope? But better yet, who are
-
we that we can? Well? Who are we that we can hope?
-
Right? Well? This is those that don't hope are dead. Those who
-
do hope we are alive. We have a living hope. We are children
-
of the promise that a man, we are the children of this very promise.
-
Without this promise, there is nothing. There is no hope without that
-
promise exactly. And I love how it said because God is not a liar,
-
right a man. That's why all these things have come to be.
-
That's why all these things have come to pass. And that's why Jeremiah chapter
-
twenty nine is going to come to pass. Yep, it is going to
-
happen. I love verse twelve. So that you will not be sluggish but
-
imitators of those who, through faith and patience inherit the promises. Guys,
-
we are commanded to have hope, right, and I mean it is It's
-
not just an offer. It is a gift. It is the conduit of
-
our actions. It is why we do these good works that He keeps talking
-
to us, because we have hope and we want to give other people that
-
hope exactly. So hope is the conduit of your Christianity. It's a pillar.
-
Yeah, I mean that's what we kept We kept arguing about whether,
-
going back and forth, whether this series shouldn't have been called The Pillars of
-
the Faith, the Three Pillars. But yeah, we're we're holding to that
-
these are the fundamentals. Yes, they are fundamental. So no, we're
-
not going to change in midstream. But without faith, hope, and love,
-
you are nothing. Yep, you you have no future. I mean
-
you got one or two options. Honey. You can either live forever,
-
but make no mistakes. If you don't, you will die forever. Yep.
-
And hope is a beautiful thing, right. It takes this, It
-
takes this finite situation we're in called life and gives it immortality. Takes the
-
square and makes it a cube. I guess you could say, hey,
-
man, that's a good way to put it. That's a good way to
-
put it. I mean it just it just sharpens your view and it takes
-
you a million light years away into one. I don't know, hope.
-
I'm just I'm so happy that we can hope and what is to come we
-
can hope and what's next? Well, I mean, you know, this
-
reminds me of First Peter, Chapter one, verse thirteen. This is a
-
good example of how hope is to condu it. It says, therefore,
-
prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely
-
on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
-
So it is the conduit, it's it's it's how we prepare our minds for
-
action. We're supposed to do something, and you're right where that thing is
-
happening at is in camp ministry. It's not happening in the local churches.
-
Not happening not here. It's not well. I mean, I don't I
-
don't even know of a church that even does alter calls. They don't have
-
revivals, they don't have week long revivals where they bring in uh, special
-
revival teams, an evangelist with you know, with a with And that's the
-
thing. People don't even know what I'm probably talking about. Those days are
-
over. Here's what I think. I think, Bring hope with you wherever
-
you go, whether it's church, whether it's church camp, whether it's school,
-
whether it's work, whether it's the side of the street. You are
-
that light on the hill, whether you like it or not. You are
-
that lantern on the stormy side of the ocean, whether you want to be
-
or not. And that's an important mission. But bring hope with you wherever
-
you go, because you have the hope of Jesus Christ in you and just
-
like just like a lamp, you can you can light your neighbor's candle.
-
Somebody's gonna light it. Yep. Well, pretty good stuff, right,
-
pretty good stuff. So you're gonna pray us out of here or what yep,
-
or you're just gonna do the words prayer. You can do whatever you
-
want. Your brain watch prayer. Our Father, who is in heaven,
-
follow be your name, your kingdom. Come, Your will be done on
-
earth as it is in heaven. Do us this day our daily bread,
-
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive the who truspass against us,
-
and lead us not into temptation. But you'll libress from the evil one,
-
for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen,
-
Amen and Amen til next time, ladies and gentlemen, God bless god'speed.
