  1. In the name of the Glorious Trinity.

  2. Father and Son and Holy Spirit forever.

  3. Amen. Glory be to the Everlasting

  4. mercies which sent you to us. Oh, Christ the light of the

  5. world and the life of all give us wisdom by a law and Enlighten

  6. our impulses, by your knowledge sanctify, our souls by your

  7. truth and Grant that we may be obedient to your words and may

  8. fulfill your Commandments at every hour.

  9. O you who enlightens the rationale with the knowledge of

  10. your greatness? He's doin light O My Lord.

  11. Our thoughts that we made meditate upon your holy and

  12. divine scriptures at all times. Oh Lord of all Father and Son

  13. and Holy Spirit forever. Amen.

  14. Receive the blessings and the Peace of our Lord and our Savior

  15. Jesus Christ, beloved listeners, wherever you may be, I pray that

  16. you are protected guarded and nurtured under the caring

  17. compassionate. Love of our heavenly father

  18. through his son. Our Lord Jesus Christ, and His

  19. Holy Spirit. Praise and glory be to His holy

  20. name for he has given us yet another gift.

  21. These are his Provisions that we come together to discuss the

  22. holy scriptures and to talk about our Heavenly Creator

  23. period. How beautiful and how blessed

  24. that he is for brothers to be worshipping together.

  25. The psalmist says, but we to this is a like of worship

  26. service. You know, when we talk about

  27. Heavenly, you know when we talk about God, our creator Allah Now

  28. Savior, Jesus Christ, we talk in all in respect in reverence in

  29. utmost reverence and in worship today's not Monday.

  30. Yes I know it's Wednesday. This is a special program as we

  31. have entered our Battlefield with Satan during this period of

  32. fasting. I thought that possibly every

  33. Wednesdays we can have a different program to encourage

  34. one another to What is it? G?

  35. Each other up to 2. Hype each other up to continue

  36. this battle as we have entered. As I said the battlefield with

  37. Satan and his special forces. This is fasting.

  38. You know, when we when we pray when we fast when we read the

  39. Holy scriptures, when we contemplate on guard we have an

  40. enemy that is trying to devour that and to adamantly Terrace

  41. away from that. So there is a battle and it's a

  42. spare Spiritual battle. So we have entered this

  43. battlefield and those who haven't who are standing aside

  44. on the sidelines, come in, come and join us.

  45. Yes, it's not easy. You know, just just the word

  46. itself battle, it's a fight. It's a, it's an out war war

  47. against the enemy and we encourage you to join us in this

  48. battlefield. Meaning, you know, offer your

  49. fast, your prayers come Um to the law through your fasting

  50. sing Paul writes, to his his son, he calls the Bishop Timothy

  51. and his first epistle to Timothy 6:12 and fight in the good

  52. contents contest of faith is you know, fight a good Battle of

  53. faith and sees eternal life to which things you are called.

  54. We are called to eternal life, and you have professed a good

  55. profession before many witnesses.

  56. So I encourage. It's those who are still sitting

  57. on the sidelines and watching those who are in the battlefield

  58. to come and join us. That is joining each other.

  59. In this, in this battle and strengthen each other.

  60. Through our prayer, Our encouragement, as we are doing

  61. today, and we know that the special forces, the enemy has

  62. his various types of Temptations and evil thoughts and deeds and

  63. desires struggles pleasures of the World Pride lust, this sees

  64. immoral desires, foolishness weakness, the list goes on and

  65. on shortfalls hatred. Complacency carelessness

  66. selfishness, you know, it's more than mere not eating meat, isn't

  67. it? It's not just about not eating

  68. meat and eating Martian, Locker beans, and lentils.

  69. You know this week, we begin our second week of fasting.

  70. And what we should be doing is we should be contemplating, we

  71. should be meditating, we should be pondering and praying for the

  72. revelation of the evil that has lurked and he's lurking and has

  73. made its about its resting place, its dwelling place within

  74. us. When I say within us, our

  75. thoughts, our bodies, our souls our minds, our feelings, our

  76. reactions, our senses. That's where he has in his most

  77. trickery and deceitful. Ways makes his Abode within us

  78. For the past two week, we have, you know, undertaken the the

  79. greatest challenge of our life. Which is displeasing denying

  80. rebuking trying to conquer the enemy and some may be saying.

  81. Yeah, right. But I'll be yes, Robbie, Asha

  82. jernard father, you may say, you know, look around you father,

  83. it's not as easy as you speak it, you know, words are easier

  84. than action. Well, you know, right?

  85. At this moment, I personally am not concerned about what sir

  86. Found me. What's happening surrounding me

  87. but more. So what's Within Me?

  88. Don't worry about what's happening in the world and

  89. what's happening around us now, you know, Society, Community

  90. politics, don't worry. Don't don't Focus too much on

  91. that because these things are at our expected.

  92. You know, we're living in a world of wickedness, so I world

  93. of wickedness can produce nothing but wickedness, but

  94. let's concentrate more during these periods of fasting and

  95. praying and meditating. The holy scriptures on what's

  96. within us what's happening within us?

  97. You know why? Because if I have surrounded

  98. with hatred, if I'm surrounded with hatred, but the genuine

  99. Love Of Christ, that is Christ, himself is truly embedded within

  100. me. My surroundings may disturb me

  101. May cause me to stumble and to fall but certainly they will not

  102. harm me. And when I say they'll genuine

  103. love Christ himself. 1 Corinthians 13 love The love of

  104. the cross. If it's within me and it's alive

  105. within me, then what's around me?

  106. What surrounds me really won't hurt me, harm, me, If there is

  107. so much immorality, there is so much filth.

  108. There's so much impurity surrounding us and the list goes

  109. on, but I am complete with the Holiness.

  110. With the sanctification, with the hallowing of the Holy

  111. Spirit, who is active. And in total control of me, then

  112. again, I won't be harmed. I'm a bee.

  113. I will be attacked continually, but the attacks will not

  114. overcome. You know, I must correct myself.

  115. I may be harmed, it may affect me, but it will not bring me

  116. down. It will not end me.

  117. If I have the genuine Love Of Christ and the fervor of the

  118. Holy Spirit within me. If there are various trials,

  119. Temptations, and I have an unwavering faith in the power of

  120. the name of my Lord and My Savior, Jesus Christ, I can

  121. overcome and Conquer everything. in the book of Acts chapter 3

    Acts 3:6

  122. verse 6, the second most amazing thing that Simon did and

  123. fulfilled and was able to do after receiving and being

  124. empowered by. The holy spirit, is this look at

  125. the beautiful words that came out of his mouth.

  126. I have no gold. I have no silver.

  127. It's not about money, it's not about wealth, but what I do have

  128. And Simon is not being selfish and saying what I do have it's

  129. my know Simon is speaking on behalf of all those who have

  130. confessed the Lord to be their savior.

  131. The Christ, the only son of God, look at what we have.

  132. And we should to give to others that in the name of Jesus.

  133. The Christ. The Nazarene stand up and walk

  134. in the name of Jesus. So regardless, what's around me,

  135. what's surrounding me? I'm going to speak about that,

  136. how we always use that as an excuse and it's such a weak

  137. excuse. When it comes to Christianity in

  138. the power of Christ. And the Holy Spirit, the Father,

  139. the Son, and the Holy Spirit. So if I'm surrounded, but I have

  140. a faith that is unshakable unwavering and that faith is in

  141. the power of the name of my Lord and My Savior Jesus Christ.

  142. I too can conquer and I will possibly be harmed and affected

  143. but I will not be conquered. In John, chapter 16 verse 23.

    John 16:23

  144. Jesus said, excuse me. And in that day, you will not

  145. ask me anything Timeless. Truth.

  146. I speak to you. This is the positive version.

  147. Everything that shall you shall ask my father?

  148. In my name. He, you shall, he shall give it

  149. to you. So how powerful is the name of

  150. my Lord and My Savior, Jesus Christ, your lord, and your

  151. savior Jesus Christ, that when we ask God the Father the

  152. creator of the universe Heaven and Earth and we ask in Jesus

  153. name. We he the father will give us

  154. there is the power of the name of Jesus Christ.

  155. Please mind the neighbor's dog. This is our Master, is it?

  156. He's named. Dana.

  157. You got to do something about your dog?

  158. I mean, I know I think Dina listens to these as well in any

  159. case, let's focus. You know how coincidental is

  160. were talking about the enemy and attacking us and you have a dog

  161. barking anyway, in the joys and Pleasures surrounding me

  162. surrounding us. And we're talking about not

  163. focusing about what's What's around us, what you know and

  164. using that as an example, the P pressure, the pressure of the

  165. world, you know, during this time of Lent, if the joys and

  166. Pleasures surrounding us are adamant to drawers as Jude,

  167. Royce need to them. Through any means social media

  168. television, just what's around us.

  169. But I contemplate. And I read and I focus on the

  170. lives of the Holy Saints, who conquered them.

  171. And I try to walk the path of the Holy Saints, then I too will

  172. be crowned as they did. I encourage you to read the

  173. biographies, the histories of the lives of the Holy Saints,

  174. you know, this is one of the one of the Christian virtues and one

  175. of the Christian responsibilities and what we,

  176. what we need to do is to read about those who went through all

  177. those struggle, Worse than you. And I possibly and yet they

  178. overcame and they conquered And yes, I admit I admit that if we

  179. backslide and we fall to the intensity of what is surrounding

  180. us. Yes.

  181. And I mentioned that that, you know, I may be affected, we may

  182. be affected. We met backslide, we may fall

  183. but if we believe that we have a high priest Hebrews 4:15, we

    Hebrews 4:15

  184. have a high priest Jesus Christ, Our Lord and our savior, praise

  185. and glory be to his name. The name above all names.

  186. The name above all names. Do you not even dare, do not go

  187. there to put any name, alongside the name of my Lord and My

  188. Savior Jesus Christ. By whom only God, the father was

  189. pleased, only Jesus Christ, and if we know that we have this

  190. high priest who will suffer with us in our weaknesses, why?

  191. Because any did that on the cross?

  192. Because he went through everything that you and I claim

  193. that is so hard to go through yet.

  194. He didn't sin. He conquered.

  195. And that's why he has sympathy, that's why Christ suffered

  196. suffice with us. When we are in this weakness and

  197. we believe in that and take that as our as our point of

  198. encouragement, as an encouragement, verse that Jesus

  199. knows what you and I are going through.

  200. So let's not hop on the, the baseless excuses that we, you

  201. know, which you use, we to justify the evil and you know,

  202. and justify our Evil by our surroundings.

  203. Let's not use that as an excuse. Actually, what we should do

  204. during this time and as God does is use the evil around us for

  205. our own strength and for our own benefit and the benefit.

  206. Of others, regardless, Matthew chapter 5 verse 38, which is one

    Matthew 5:38

  207. of the readings of the gospels, during this Lenten period.

  208. Excuse me, I'm coming over recovering from a cold, excuse

  209. me, Matthew chapter 5 verse 38 to the end.

    Matthew 5:38

  210. This is the reading but I'm going to look at verse 38.

  211. I for I listen to this. This is God, allowing in Exodus

    Exodus 21:24

  212. 21:24, you know, I'm going to read that because that's what

  213. Jesus is quoting. And I in exchange, for an eye, a

  214. tooth in exchange for a tooth, a hand, in exchange for a hand, a

  215. foot in exchange, for foot sounds cruel or maybe even a

  216. little cool. Hey, you know, there you go.

  217. There's there's my key to tanking taking Revenge.

  218. Why was this allowed? Was it allowed was it permitted

  219. so that one could, you know, fulfill the anger and could take

  220. out his wrath and anger and frustration on one who is

  221. hurting or, you know, causing pain?

  222. Well, no, it wasn't. That wasn't God's purpose.

  223. God didn't say, you can go. And, you know, take your revenge

  224. and you can you can sort your own problems out when someone

  225. hurts, you know, because that goes against what, what Christ

  226. tells You know, the scriptures say, you know, give time allow

  227. for God's Vengeance. But why is this recorded in

  228. scripture? Why does God permit that?

  229. Was that to deter people from panning one, another as Saint

  230. John. Chrysostom comments in verse 38,

  231. Jesus instructs us not to resist the devil in this verse he says,

  232. do not. Resist, the devil or do not rise

  233. up against. Well, it's not actually do not

  234. resist the devil. But use reverse psychology,

  235. theology spiritual psychology because we know that those who

  236. harm or afflict Us in any shape or form are doing it under the

  237. auspices or the influence of Satan.

  238. It's evil. You see all good comes from God,

  239. nothing but good comes from God. Now God may allow evil upon us

  240. but there is reason for that. There's a purpose for that.

  241. All good comes from God and all evil all bad comes from Satan.

  242. Now God, as I said, May at times use bad or evil for our

  243. reforming. You know, reshaping educating,

  244. rebuking remoulding, strengthening.

  245. Let me give an example. Simple, when you punch someone,

  246. you punch someone to hurt someone.

  247. Unless it's, you know, it's a friendly gesture and that

  248. sometimes hurts. I might go up to Steve and say,

  249. hey, Steven and I punch him on the shoulder and sometimes there

  250. are points in the shoulder where you can just touch anything.

  251. Wow, that hurt Robbie, my intention was not to hurt,

  252. right? My intention was through pain to

  253. show how much I love him, right? But let's use that.

  254. As an example, punching someone is causing Seeing someone harm

  255. pain its evil but you see in the karate instructors, what they do

  256. to their students. They actually Stomp Them on the

  257. stomach, then they punch them. They kicked him in the stomach

  258. SWAT so that they can strengthen the ABS.

  259. I think it is. What is it that stomach laughs?

  260. Yeah. What about what about when when,

  261. you know I watch rugby league and and the players are in the

  262. change rooms and new Talking Tom sums up and you know and then

  263. and then I stay next to me in front of one of them, they slap

  264. each other in the face. And you can tell that hurts

  265. because you can see there. And marks on on the phase 2.

  266. But what do you know? That's, that's so you can you

  267. can encourage and you could build that person to come on.

  268. We're going in a battlefield now and it's and I start screaming.

  269. Yeah, you know, or you see, you see those who punch someone and

  270. they fall on the ground in a ring and they go and stomp on

  271. their faces and punch them with the elbows and then stand up and

  272. say, Praise Jesus. You know that I can never work

  273. that one out but regardless but what it's the evil, it's pain.

  274. And to get someone ready for action.

  275. For this reason, John chrysostom says, Jesus also added, but I

  276. say to you, do not resist. The evil one, now be careful.

  277. John chrysostom also adds, he did not say Do not resist your

  278. brother. Do not resist the evil.

  279. So if a person is harming you is causing you harm, it's the evil.

  280. Don't go against the brother don't go and paint, punch the

  281. Daylights out of the brother but don't resist that evil.

  282. The evil one. So we are authorized to dare to

  283. act in the presence of evil to take on evil.

  284. However this is the key Point Saint John chrysostom rights

  285. through cry. Iced influence.

  286. Reverse psychology, reverse theology.

  287. I said through Christ influence in this way.

  288. Wee. We can relax.

  289. We can secretly remove most of the anger against the aggressor.

  290. When we look at the evil, not the person and understand that.

  291. That is Satan. So how am I going to combat

  292. Satan? How do you combat evil with

  293. good? So you do good to that person

  294. who is harming you, that's why Jesus said, pray for your

  295. enemies. Let me tell you my enemies will

  296. never ever do good for me. My enemies will try to hate me,

  297. my enemies will try to slander. My name, my enemies will try to

  298. Define me character assassinate me.

  299. These are enemies. But Jesus said, don't go against

  300. your enemies. Go against that evil.

  301. What you do is Come back and you say, for example, you know, God

  302. bless you, I'll pray for them, I'll continue to pray for them.

  303. If they, if they spit in my face, my reply will be, will God

  304. bless you? You know what, who am I, when my

  305. Lord received my spittle, who am I to stand here now?

  306. And to be, to be utterly disappointed in one, take one to

  307. take revenge, so what's surrounding me is not an excuse

  308. beloved, that's actually a key and excuse that Satan gives You

  309. and I to even further distance as from the will and the

  310. Holiness of God, Saint Paul sums it up.

  311. So beautifully in Romans. 12:21, do not be overcome by evil.

    Romans 12:21

  312. See Saint Paul is not extracting that we do not be overcome by

  313. those who cause us pain suffering and evil.

  314. It's evil, it's Satanist on bear.

  315. Do not be overcome by evil that comes from people, but overcome

  316. evil Evil with good. Pray for those who persecute you

  317. feed your enemy, close your enemy bless your enemy.

  318. Yeah. I you know, I can feel the Vibes

  319. right now, you're probably driving.

  320. And as I've always said, concentrate on the road or

  321. you're washing your dishes, you're probably thinking, yeah,

  322. whatever I'll be. Well if that is the mindset we

  323. have in our Christian faith, God help us.

  324. We need to pray. We need to ask God to remove

  325. that, that evil mindset and to put us in that in that peaceful

  326. and loving mindset of our Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ,

  327. imitate Jesus Christ. During this Lent beloved, let us

  328. imitate Jesus Christ. Which means suffer with the

  329. weakness of others as well. We too have at times been

  330. tempted in all things like they are.

  331. And yet we have sinned There has been times where I have caused

  332. disappointment sadness. Maybe even hurt through my words

  333. not so much for my actions but through my words my service,

  334. maybe you know, how, I've how I have battle, or how I have,

  335. what's that word? You know, there's a word that

  336. you sometimes you lose them. You know how I've taken control

  337. over certain In certain circumstances I may have heard

  338. people. See, I have sinned, I have

  339. fallen Satan. May have worked through me and

  340. he has overcome me. So who am I then to to be ready

  341. to take take revenge and you know take Vengeance on someone

  342. who is you know hurting me and not knowing sometimes what

  343. they're doing and it's from Evil.

  344. So I must not resist, the evil eye must come against evil with

  345. goodness. I'll leave you with this verse

  346. to conclude 2 Corinthians 13:5. I think the best way to really

    2 Corinthians 13:5

  347. see where we stand with all of that we have discussed, is to

  348. examine our souls Saint. Paul writes, examine your souls

  349. your inner, whether you stand in the faith, faith is not just

  350. praising. Jesus, faith is not just doing

  351. good and feeding, the homeless and coming and attending church

  352. and fasting. That's not only mere faith.

  353. Faith is to see whether you truly Stand in the faith and the

  354. test of faith. As I've mentioned, I think in

  355. previous programs is the test of faith.

  356. Is what? How you conduct yourself your

  357. Christian manner, in a world of wickedness, in the most awkward

  358. and in the most difficult situations and circumstances,

  359. that's where you tested your test.

  360. Your faith, you don't test your faith.

  361. When you're a church and you hear all these beautiful

  362. chantings and the prayers and the Liturgy and you partake in

  363. the Holy. Has.

  364. That's not where you test your faith.

  365. You test your faith when the world goes up against you.

  366. And how you react, so examine your souls, whether you stand in

  367. the faith, tend to your souls. Or are you not aware that?

  368. Jesus the Christ is in you. Jesus.

  369. The Christ is in you, you know? Yes, those who are at church,

  370. two days ago, three days ago was a two days ago.

  371. They partook in the Holy body and blood of Christ.

  372. The Holy Eucharist to put a banner khadisha.

  373. Hello, your body with my body, he who eats my body and drinks,

  374. my blood remains in me. And I in him, that's not only

  375. during that church time, and when you leave the church, the

  376. body disappears, and just dissolves know Christ is with us

  377. through his script. Through the Holy Spirit through

  378. our contemplation and mediation through his body and blood

  379. through our blood. Christian brothers and sisters

  380. Christ is in you. And that if not Paul goes on to

  381. say you are worthless. If you cannot find Christ within

  382. you, if you are not sure where the Christ is in you.

  383. And how do you test yourself to see if Christ is in, you is You

  384. test yourself to see whether you are in the true Faith.

  385. So during this battlefield beloved in this battlefield, and

  386. during this war that we have waged against Satan and his

  387. enemies. Let us focus.

  388. Focus on ourselves. Where do we stand as far as

  389. Christ's Commandments as far as Christ instructions?

  390. As far as the instructions of the the church, The Liturgy, the

  391. Eucharistic service, the prayers, where do we stand as

  392. far as they are concerned? Because beloved fasting without

  393. reading the holy scriptures or praying is a spiritual bodies

  394. up. We got spiritual diet.

  395. So I pray that during this time if you have dared and you are

  396. courageous to take on Satan during this time of fasting and

  397. lent and you have joined the battle.

  398. I pray that the Lord will strengthen you continuously

  399. focus on Jesus Christ. Focus on Christ's victory in the

  400. wilderness where he truly was Victorious over Satan.

  401. And all his Temptations. And if you're standing on the

  402. sidelines, please come and join us in this battlefield so that

  403. you can encourage. We can encourage one another.
