There’s More Coming

Open your Bibles to Mark chapter 10, meet me at verse 17, we'll read through to verse 18.

Mark chapter 10, verse 17, we'll read through to verse 18.

Mark 10:17

And we find out here in this passage of scripture, now as he,

Jesus, was going out on the road, one came running,

kneeled down before him and asked him, good teacher, what shall I do that I

may inherit eternal life.

Verse 18, Jesus said to him, why do you call me good?

No one is good, but one that is God.

And so in this passage of scripture, I want you to understand the context.

We find a rich young ruler and an influential wealthy man approaches Jesus and

not just like an average approach or even an average normal question. This man is running.

He is running to Jesus and he approaches Jesus.

When he finally arrives, he immediately bows down to Jesus.

And I believe he says this out of anxiousness, out of worry.

Out of fear, out of concern.

His question is, good teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

So this rich young man is thinking about eternity.

He's thinking about life after death. And he's very concerned because he's asking, what can I do?

Running to Jesus, full of cares and worries and anxieties, what can I do,

good teacher, that I may inherit eternal life? This is a very important question.

This is a critical question.

This is a question that this man is asking because he does not want to miss

out on an opportunity to spend eternity with Jesus.

And I love Jesus' response.

He doesn't even address the question.

Not initially, he doesn't. He says, wait a minute, good, Why do you call me good?

There is no one good but one, and that is God.

And so if you remember, all of the religious folks in that time always questioned Jesus being God.

Jesus said, I am my father.

I am God. I am God in the flesh. And all of the religious folks always questioned that.

Why are you calling yourself God? He didn't go and die on the cross because of some miracle he did.

He didn't die on the cross because of some compassion he showed.

He died on that cross. They put him on that cross because he said he was God.

That's interesting because now Jesus is saying, you're calling me good.

Why are you calling me good? If you are calling me good, then you actually must be calling me God.

And so we find out here that Jesus addresses his term of the word good. Somebody say good.

Now, this is important because in the Old Testament, there is not a lot of clear

revelation of the goodness of God. Let me clarify this statement.

God is good, and we see it throughout the Old Testament.

But everything that took place in the Old Testament, most of the people attributed it to God.

So if somebody died, they would say God did it. If an earthquake took place,

they would say, God did it.

If somebody was massacred, they would say, God did it.

Everything that happened, they would say, God did it.

So there was really no clear revelation of the devil.

Everything was God did it. Everything that happened, they attributed to God

doing it. And it could make us believe that God is unpredictable.

It makes us believe, because of what we see in the Old Testament and the way

they viewed everything, it makes us believe that God is inconsistent,

that sometimes he's good and sometimes he's not.

And sometimes he does good things and sometimes he doesn't because there was

never any clear distinction between the devil.

It's important. This is why Jesus showed up and he said, I have come that you

may have life and life more abundantly.

But guess what? The thief, who is the enemy, the thief has come to steal, to kill, and to destroy.

And so there's a line that's been drawn in the sand. Jesus, who is God,

came to give you life, enjoy life, abundant life to the full until it overflows.

But then there's a thief who is the devil, and he's come to steal, kill, and destroy.

And that means if anything involves stealing, killing, and destroying,

we can attribute that to the devil.

And if anything involves life and life more abundantly, we can attribute it to God.

But in the old covenant, in the old

Testament, they didn't have that clear revelation about God being good.

He was unpredictable. But I want to share with you today and over the next several

weeks about the goodness of God.

His character is consistent.

Now, throughout the old covenant, they didn't know. They saw a lot of inconsistencies,

like I said, because they did not consider the devil.

They never considered Lucifer, Satan. They never considered him.

Everything was God, but Jesus came in the flesh, God in the flesh saying,

I am good. And everything that's the opposite of good is Satan.

Come on, somebody say amen.

Jesus tells us that only God is truly good.

So if you call me good, you acknowledge that I am God.

And God is good is a statement that reflects the belief that God's nature,

character, and actions are inherently loving,

kind, and righteous. Let me say it again.

God is good is a statement that reflects the nature and character of God that

shows his character is inherently always loving,

always kind, and always righteous.

God is good is an absolute statement. It means that he is absolute good and

he is goodness in totality.

Hallelujah. Somebody say, God is good.

In Exodus chapter 33, verse 18 and 19,

Exodus chapter 33, verse 18 and 19, this is the story where Moses is having

Exodus 33:18

a conversation with the Lord, and he says, please show me your glory.

In verse 19, then the Lord said, I will make all my goodness pass before you,

and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you.

I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on

whom I will have compassion.

Understand this, that Moses asked to see the Lord's glory.

And the Lord said, all of my goodness will pass before you.

So the glory of the Lord is the goodness of the Lord.

The glory of the Lord is totality in goodness.

The glory of the Lord is all of his presence, all of his goodness,

absolute good, totally good is the glory of the Lord.

And so when Moses was seeking his glory, the Lord said, I'm going to show you my goodness.

God's intentions towards you are always loving and he desires what is best for

his saints. Let me say it again.

His intentions toward you are always. Somebody say always.

I'm not talking about sometimes. I'm not talking about half the time.

I'm not even talking about most of the time. God's intentions towards you are

always loving, and he always desires the best for his saints.

The more you realize how good God is, the more you will allow his goodness to show up in your life.

The more you realize how good God is, the more you will allow his goodness to show up in your life.

And somebody say, well, Pastor, you're saying I got to allow the goodness of

God to show up. You got to allow the goodness of God to show up in your life.

You got to understand who you are working with, who you are dealing with,

who you hanging with, who is your father, who is your Lord and Savior.

And he is good. He is totally good.

He is absolutely good.

He is a good, good God. And when you realize that, and the more you realize

that, the more you will allow his goodness to flow over you.

Throughout the history of time, we've allowed the enemy, Satan,

to tell us that God isn't good.

We've allowed circumstances to show us that God isn't good.

We've allowed Pookie and Ray Ray and grandma and whoever to tell you God isn't

good. You just never know what he'll do.

You just never know what God will do. I mean, he might kill your baby because

he needs an angel in heaven.

No, the thief came to steal, kill, and destroy. But God is good. Say that.

God is good.

I heard you say all the time. That's right. God is good all the time.

He is good. And there are laws that have been told us through tradition that watch out now.

God may, you know, it's, you're doing good right now, but God may do something to just strike you down.

God may give you that disease. God may take this away from you.

Watch out. God's going to beat you over the head. And I used to be nervous like, God, what day?

Is today going to be the day I get beat over? I don't know. But that's not his nature.

His nature is goodness. Come on, somebody shout amen. Amen.

Psalms chapter 34, verse 8. Psalms chapter 34, verse 8.

Psalms 34:8 Psalms 34:8

David says here, oh, taste and see that the Lord is good. Watch this.

Blessed is the man who trusts in him.

Taste and see. You're going to have to taste and see. I cannot taste for you.

I cannot eat something and taste it for you. I can taste it and tell you it's

good. But until you taste and see that the Lord is good, then you will realize

and experience the goodness that he has to provide for you. And you say,

Pastor, how do I taste and see?

The next part of that verse tells us you're going to have to begin to trust him.

You're going to have to begin to do what he says to do.

You're going to have to begin to obey and to completely rely,

recline, and relax in him. It's almost like a rocking chair.

We were at the Burgess House last night for the event, and they had a swing,

and Adrienne sat in the swing, and she just kind of reclined in the swing.

That's what you're going to have to do with the Lord.

You're going to have to just kind of recline and say, I just trust God.

He is good. His nature is good. He is absolutely good. He's totally good, and I trust Him.

I rely on Him. I depend on Him.

I consider Him. I'm relaxing in

him I am considering him in all of my decisions And

in all of my ways And sometimes you'll make a decision

And your mind says that's not the right decision But your heart says

that's the right decision I'm going to have to trust God with my

heart I'm going to have to trust him because his spirit says This is the right

thing to do And although it might look crazy like Devon leave your six figure

paying job And go into the ministry I've got to trust God And when I did that

I tasted and seen that the Lord is good. Come on, somebody say amen.

God is good. Say that. Somebody say all the time.

He's good. He's good. His nature is good. He is good. He's totally good.

He's kindness in action.

He's looking to distribute good things. He's looking to give you things so that

you can enjoy this earthly experience.

He's good. He's good. He's good.

There was a particular time Stacey and I were engaged and we were attending church.

We were not pastors of this church. We were just regular members in the church

and we were engaged and Stacey's job was to plan the wedding.

My job was to plan the honeymoon.

And so she was doing a great job planning the wedding, and I wasn't doing such

a good job yet of planning the honeymoon.

She wanted to go out of the country.

I'm looking at the bank account, like, oh, Lord, I don't want to go out of the country, right?

And she's like, come on, let's just, let's get out of town, and let's have a

good time in another part of the world.

And like I said, I'm looking at the account, and I don't really want to do that.

I'm going to be, can I give you some full disclosure? I'm just going to be open

and vulnerable to you. Just going to be honest with you.

My makeup, my makeup, I'm not going to say my DNA because the Lord sent me. He's changed my DNA.

My makeup is I don't like to spend a lot of money.

That's just my makeup. I don't like to spend a lot of money.

I'm very good with saving money. I'm very good with handling money.

I don't put any trust in money.

I know money is a tool, but I really don't like to spend a lot of money.

Now, you may be the opposite in here.

You spend a little too much, and it's really not how much you make.

It's how much you spend that puts you in the predicament that you are in.

And so I don't like to spend a lot of money.

I like to have money. Money is good. Money is helpful.

Money allows us to do some different things, but I don't like to spend a lot of money.

Now, my wife gets on me because I can give money away pretty quickly,

but when it comes to spending it, I don't know.

It's just like, how can you give X amount of money away and not buy this $100 item?

I don't know. It's just, it's something that I'm working with.

And a good friend of mine, hopefully this helps you, a good friend of mine said this to me.

He says, every dollar is allocated towards something that the Lord wants to do with it.

And sometimes those dollars are allocated for you to spend.

That really helped me. You need to buy. You need to spend.

All this stuff we have in this church, thank God for it.

We had to spend money to do it, and we paid cash for it. Glory to God.

We don't owe anybody anything. Hallelujah.

That is a good thing. But I struggle buying the stuff.

Being honest with you, I struggle. We needed a new iMac to do live stream.

Do we have to get a new one? Do we have to?

And the Lord told me when we started the church. How many of you remember this?

I've said this before, but he told me, he said, buy new stuff.

He would not allow me when we first got going to get used stuff.

He said, I want you to buy new stuff. Why? He was getting me to taste and see.

That the Lord is good. I want you to buy new stuff.

I want you to get new stuff, taste and see that the Lord is good.

And so this particular gentleman approached me in the church that we were a part of.

He says, hey, I know you're getting married and I didn't know him too well.

He said, I have a beach house in Myrtle Beach that I want to offer up to you

and Stacey for your honeymoon.

And I thought, he said, you know, no cost to you. I just want to offer it to

you. And I thought, glory to God, that sounds like the Lord, right?

I go to Stacey and she's like, I don't want to go.

I want to go out of the country.

We can always go to Myrtle Beach. I want to go somewhere else.

I said, let me pray about it. She said, you pray about it. And I began to pray

about it. And the Lord said, I want you to accept this man's offer.

And so I said, Stacy, I think we're supposed to accept this man's offer.

I didn't know him too well.

And, you know, he said he had a beach house. And she said, but listen,

I trust you, but if it's not good, you owe me.

And so now we're entering into the marriage indebted, okay?

I already owe her something. And so I said, you know, I really sense in my heart

we're supposed to accept his offer.

And so I told the man, I said, we'll accept. Thank you. He said,

that's awesome. My wife and I talked about it.

You know, here's the key, whatever, when the time got going.

And so we had our wedding. And then that next day, we jumped in the car and

we drove to Myrtle Beach and followed the MapQuest instructions.

How many remember MapQuest?

Followed the MapQuest, had it printed out, followed the instructions.

It took us some back ways, some crazy routes. I don't know why we just didn't

take the freeway, but it took us all these back roads.

And we finally end up and we go into this building. And he said,

he's on the fifth floor or whatever.

And we hit five. And lo and behold, this man had the entire fifth floor.

We walked into a 5,000 six-bedroom condo that he offered to us at no cost.

His balcony, and I'm not exaggerating, was 30 yards, 30 yards long.

I would be on one end, and she would come out another slide. No, we'd be like, hey.

I mean, we had a lot of fun. We took off running around that entire place and just had a good time.

We stayed there an entire week, seven days, no calls.

We're talking about this is probably $8,000, $9,000 a night to stay in a condo like this.

We would go down the elevator barefoot and step right out on the sand.

We were literally right on the beach. And like I said, he had the entire top row.

And the Lord spoke to me and he said, I heard this in my heart.

He says, this is my goodness.

This is my goodness to you. Now, some of y'all here wouldn't even accept that.

You were rejected. I'm a self-made man. I don't need any charity.

I don't need you to get me anything.

Then you can't taste and see that the Lord is good.

A lot of people won't receive the goodness of God because, well,

I don't need any support. I don't need any help.

I don't need you to give me that condo. I can buy my own condo.

And then I would have missed out.

On the goodness of God. This condo was way better than we had ever been in.

And it was better than we even anticipated.

It was so beautiful and fun and relaxing and extraordinary.

It was so delightful and compelling, and, you know, it just,

it was just so, oh, oh, it was good.

It was more than I can even imagine.

And it was also very humbling that the Lord would provide this for us.

God's goodness should humble you because you don't deserve it and you can't earn it.

It's just he's good, and he wanted us to experience a good honeymoon.

And as we were walking around, and people saw us going in the building,

and we would hit five, and they'd look at us, and we'd look at them like, yeah, that's us.

We're on five. We're at the top, okay?

We had no problem receiving the goodness of God.

And I'll talk about this later, but if you have a hard time with someone handing

you money, then you're going to have, and receiving someone,

I want to bless you, and you have a hard time receiving that,

you're going to also have a hard time receiving the goodness of God because that's part of it.

I'll say this, a lot of people have a hard time receiving the baptism of the

Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

They have a hard time receiving it, and you try to hand them some money,

and, oh, no, I don't want your money, I don't want to touch it.

If you can't receive the money, you're not going to receive God's gift of the

baptism of the Holy Spirit.

It works hand in hand. You can't receive His goodness if you feel like you can do it on your own.

And we've got to change our DNA. We're going to change our makeup.

We're going to have to lean into God's goodness, which is overwhelming,

and it should humble you.

There was nothing Stacey and I did to earn that free honeymoon.

Nothing. That man barely even knew us, barely even knew us, but offered it to

us absolutely no cost. I tried to give him something. What am I going to give him?

I ended up giving him a McAllister's gift card. I found out that he liked McAllister's.

We gave him this McAllister's gift card. The man almost started crying because

he's like, this is my wife and I's favorite restaurant.

And he didn't know. I did a little research on that. And I said,

I just want to say thank you.

And because we stuck it in a card and mailed it to him. And then we saw him.

He said, we went to McAllister's and we just enjoy talking to one another and

having a good time at McAllister's.

And I'm thinking, you are a multi-millionaire.

You could have went to your own McAllister's. But in appreciation,

expressing appreciation just for, I can't give you everything you've given me,

but I want to say thank you.

I just want to express appreciation for what you've done for me.

That gift card impacted him. And every time, I haven't seen him in over a decade,

but the last time I did see him, he talked about he ate at McAllister's.

Well, and then I talked about his condo, who he eventually sold, by the way.

But God's goodness is more than we can ask, think, or imagine.

We're going to have to begin to see him as good, and we're going to have to

open up our hearts to receive his goodness.

One particular time, Stacy and I, we had just started the church many,

many years ago, and there was a particular family in our church that were having some car issues.

They were a family of five, I believe, and they were coming.

They were serving. They were coming, but they had some car issues,

and the Lord said to me, I want to show them my goodness through you.

I said, well, praise God. I didn't know what that meant, but praise God.

I'm going to show him my goodness.

And then he said this to me, to my heart. He said, I want you to buy them a car.

I said, well, glory to God. Okay, okay. And then we were driving in North Lake Mall.

I ain't been to North Lake in a long time. When was the last time y'all been

to North Lake? I ain't been to a long time. I heard this hooded out, by the way.

But I ain't going back. But we went to, is that right, North Lake? Yeah.

Okay. And it's been a long time. We were in the parking lot of North Lake Mall,

and Stacey turns to me. We weren't even thinking about this.

And she mentioned this couple.

And she says, I think the Lord's saying we're supposed to buy them a car.

I said, the Lord told me that a few days ago, too. And so we made up in our

hearts, we're going to buy them a car.

And so we sat in our hearts, and we just started looking at some used vehicles

and looking at some private vehicles. And we had just received some additional money.

And we said, you know what? We're going to use that money.

We're going to buy them a vehicle. So we found one, and we got it cleaned up.

And I remember the windshield had a little crack.

We had the windshield replaced in it. And we told our kids, hey,

this is what we're doing.

Y'all come with us. I called the family up. I said, hey, family,

we want to come by your house.

And they said, yeah, come on by. We had never been by there.

And I know they were wondering, why are they coming by the house?

They said, come on by. And I remember we took one car and we took the other

vehicle as well. It was a van.

And we drove by their house and we, you know, small talk. And they were very

gracious and didn't know why we were there.

Just a little small talk. Finally, we said, let's come on outside.

Came outside. I said, look at this van. They said, ooh, this is a nice van.

I said, yeah, isn't it nice? Look at it. Go in there and look at it.

And this is really, really nice.

And I know they probably wondered, why are they showing us their new van?

And finally, he said, man, this is a nice van you have.

That's what the husband said. And I said, actually, this is your van.

And I gave them the key. And I will never forget, the man literally fell out on the ground,

laid out and began to praise God, just laying in the middle of the street,

just excited about the goodness of God.

It blessed Stacy and I more than it blessed them Because it's more blessed to

give than it is to receive It blessed us more that we were able to provide in

that situation Because God had given us a little extra,

And we used it to do what the Lord said Let me ask you, what should you do with the extra?

What should you do with the extra? That's when you ask the Lord because he wants

you to be a conduit by which he can flood his goodness to somebody else.

Buy somebody dinner. Pay someone's house payment. Buy them a car.

Pay for a portion of their vacation. Come on, somebody.

Buy them a house. Hallelujah.

Amen. Let's think bigger. Buy them a house. Hallelujah.

One day, Stacey, I'll be able to do that. Glory to God. Hallelujah.

This is the goodness of God. And God's goodness is flowing to us and through us because he is good.

Now, that family received it. They drove that van. That family enjoyed it.

What did he say? Well, I don't need your charity.

I don't need that. And that's how many of us are. I don't need that. I don't need your help.

I'm a self-made woman. I don't need any help.

Then you're not going to experience his goodness.

This is not a matter of do you need help or not? It's a matter of can you receive

the goodness of the Lord?

And I've been basking in the goodness of the Lord, thinking about how good he

has been, thinking about where I came from.

I was talking to Jeannie just yesterday. She was saying, I lived in a one-bedroom,

what was it, mobile home?

Single wide trailer with holes in the floor just a few years ago.

And then we went to their house last night for our event and beautiful home.

On what property and land. Look at the goodness of God.

You got to be able to receive his goodness because he has more to give.

Our father has more to give than we can receive. Think about that.

He's got more to give than we can receive. How much you believe in his goodness

determines how much you receive.

How much you believe in his goodness determines how much you receive.

How much you believe in his goodness will determine how much you receive.

The only thing that limits God's goodness is your capacity to receive it.

The only thing that limits his goodness is your capacity to receive it So we're

going to have to reflect on his nature He's good And we're going to have to open up our hearts,

To receive more from him How do you enlarge your capacity To receive from the Lord?

You're going to have to enlarge your capacity to give You have to open up your

heart and say I'm going to give just a little bit more.

And when you stretch and give a little bit more, that heart has been open.

And now we've opened up ourselves to receive just a little bit more.

And when you stretch and give a little bit more, that heart has been stretched.

And now you open up your capacity to receive just a little bit more.

And then when you stretch to give a little bit more, you open up your capacity

to receive a little bit more. But here's the key.

You have already received everything the Lord has provided.

You have everything you need because God has already provided it.

Now you are responding to his goodness by giving.

And then he says, you know what? I can trust you with a little bit more.

Why does some person have a little more than another?

It could be possible, it can happen, that maybe, just maybe,

they're operating in the goodness of God in just a little bit more than you are.

Maybe they're open to receive a little more from the Lord than you are.

Maybe they understand how much they're loved by God just a little more than

you understand how much you're loved by God.

And don't look at it as competition, look at it as, how can I get there?

What do I need to do to get there? I talk to folks. I talk to people that are

doing way better than me all the time on purpose because I want to know what

are they doing and what are they thinking.

And if I can emulate what they're doing and thinking, I'm talking about saved

folks now, not unsaved folks, okay? I'm talking about Christian saints, okay?

What they're doing, what they're thinking, man, if I can implement that,

I can have the same thing.

Somebody say amen to that. The only thing that limits God's goodness is your capacity to receive it.

Psalms 23.6. Psalms 23.6 says, surely.

Somebody say, surely. Surely. Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days

of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

God's goodness, this is what I want you to hear. God's goodness isn't just about

what he has done in the past.

It's a promise for your future too.

A lot of times we think about the goodness of God and what he has done.

And that's good because that spurs and that instigates and it activates thanksgiving.

When you reflect back on what the Lord has done, you begin to be thankful.

But the Lord challenged me this week, and I want to challenge you as well.

Here's how the Lord challenged me. I texted a friend, good friend of mine,

this statement, and I was challenged by the response. You want to hear it?

I've been experiencing the goodness of God. This is me. I've been experiencing

the goodness of God the last few months like I have never experienced before.

Sent that to a friend of mine. The last few months, I've just seen his goodness

and manifestation like I've never experienced before. And I told him,

I said, it's humbling because I don't deserve it.

I'm humbled by the goodness.

I'm humbled by what the Lord's doing in my life. And he responded.

Now, this is from the friend, but I took it as a word from the Lord.

He said, and there's more coming.

Somebody say, there's more coming. Say it again. There's more coming.

Say it one more time. There's more coming. There's more coming.

When he said there's more coming, I heard the Lord say that and there's more coming.

Stop getting stuck right now on what God has done in the past as if he can't do it again.

Stop getting comfortable about where you are, looking about where you came from

as if you are already at your final destination.

Stop trying to be thinking about, well, this is what God did and there's no more he can do for me.

No, there's more coming. There's more goodness coming.

There's more enjoyment coming. There's more for God to ask you to do coming.

There's more for you to bless others coming.

There's more coming. Somebody say there's more. There's more.

Say there's more. There's more.

There's more coming. There's more goodness coming.

And this entire week, I've been meditating on there's more.

There's more. In 1 Timothy chapter

1 Timothy 6:17

6, verse 17, it says, God has richly given you all things to enjoy.

Richly given you all things to enjoy. There's more coming.

There's more coming. There's more coming. There's more coming.

Someone might say, Pastor, this sounds like you're talking about abundance.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. I'm talking about there's God is an abundant

God and there's more coming and there's more coming and there's more coming. And guess what?

I'm I'm going to be a guy and I hope you join me and you will because God's

called you to be crazy like me.

I'm going to be a guy that I'll take the persecution.

Man, why, why do you need another car?

Well, because one of them I might just give away to somebody else. Amen.

Come on. Why do you need another air fryer? Because I might give another air fryer away.

This happened just recently. I'll tell the story. Stacey told someone that she

was going to go buy a really nice air fryer.

And the lady said, I got a brand new air, another air fryer just sitting at the house.

And Stacey's like, well, we're going to go buy another one. She's like,

no, I got one at the house.

Well, that's great, but we're going to go get another air finder.

The lady said, no, I want to give you the one that I have at the house.

Well, listen, we ain't no fool.

God's goodness may be working through somebody. Somebody may want to sow some seed.

Stacey said, I told the lady, well, bring it and we'll take a look.

And the lady brought it. It was still in the box.

It ain't never been open. just sitting at the house. She goes,

I just got to sit here at the house. It was exactly what Stacey wanted.

The big double Dutch, I don't know what you call it, double drawer,

air fryer, because we got a big family. We got to cook two things at once.

It was sitting exactly what she wanted, and we just said, that's the goodness of God.

This lady sitting on a brand new air fryer.

The goodness of God. God can get something to you, but it's going to flow through somebody else.

It ain't going to just fall from heaven. It's going to flow through somebody

else, and that is his goodness.

People are supposed to see how good God has been to you and be drawn by him.

Let me say it again. People are supposed to see how good God has been to you

and then be drawn to him by it.

People are supposed to see how good God has been to you and then be drawn to him by it.

If I was telling Paul this before service started, but if I was standing up

here driving a 1952 beat up Honda Civic, broken down, can't get from A to B,

living in a mobile trailer with holes at the floor,

and barely been able to feed my family.

And I get up here and say, the Lord has been good. Y'all wouldn't listen to a word that I have to say.

The Lord's been good. Has he?

Has he been good to you? He's been good. And there are a lot of people that

feel like ministers should live like that, and they wouldn't listen to a word

I had to say if I lived like that.

No, I have to be an example of the goodness of God.

Amen. That God has been good and I'm going to declare that because he's been

good to me, it's going to be like all that flows down the beard of Aaron.

He's going to be good to you too. Amen. Who will receive that?

God wants people drawn to him by you.

He's going to use you to draw people to him And if you are broke, busted, and disgusted,

Nobody's going to be drawn to your father I'm preaching better than you saying

amen Nobody's going to want to serve God if you just look raggedy,

You're going to have to be a demonstration of his goodness.

You're going to have to open up your hearts and just simply receive his goodness.

And then when the Lord says, listen, I want you to do this so that you can show

my goodness towards someone else.

Taste and see that he's good. Do it.

Do it. Do it. I got to taste and see that the Lord is good.

I got to trust him. I got to do it. I got to do what the Lord's saying,

doing because I want to see his goodness and manifestation in our life.

I think, and I'll wrap up with this. I think one of the biggest lies of the

devil, I really do, is to think that God's goodness, which manifests in a lot of varieties, health.

Relationships, mental stability, education, whatever the case may be,

wisdom, but it also manifests in stuff.

And one of the things that the devil has done a really good job of is he's tried

to tell us that if you got stuff, then you're closer to the enemy than you are to God.

He's trying to convince people that, no, no, no, no, no, you don't want anything

good for, you don't want that stuff, you don't want it.

No, no, no, no. That's just God trying to provide his goodness towards you.

And if you'll just receive it, somebody say, I receive.

You just receive. Say, I receive his goodness. Now, if I'm talking to you today, stand to your feet.

This is how you and I experience true life.
