  11. Our thoughts that we made meditate upon your holy and

  12. divine scriptures at all times. Oh Lord of all Father and Son

  13. and Holy Spirit forever. Amen.

  14. Double-edged sword, a Christian podcast Ministry presented by

  15. father, jernard Lazar. Father, jernard is a parish

  16. priest of the mud edit Parish of the Assyrian Church of the East

  17. and Turlock. California.

  18. Here's father, jernard, a came across a sign selling at Walmart

  19. and the sign was titled think. And then underneath it would

  20. State before you speak and there was an acronym.

  21. Mm, for think the tea was, is it true?

  22. And their ages? Is it helpful?

  23. And the eyes is it inspiring? The N is, is it necessary?

  24. And the cage stated is a kind, I actually use this acronym during

  25. a sermon, many many, many moons ago when I was talking about

  26. thinking, thinking is an integral action or aspect of our

  27. daily. He lives, you know, the first

  28. thing I do when I open my eyes. Yes.

  29. I purposely said the first think, and not the first thing,

  30. but the first thing I do before, as soon as I open my eyes, when

  31. I wake up, is my mind begins to work full speed and I'm thinking

  32. of what's install, what I need to do?

  33. What I have lacked in doing, what is Awaiting me for the day,

  34. what is installed for the day? And, and the mind starts working

  35. and we begin to think. And I start to think, you know,

  36. and and I think as I Was preparing this message, you

  37. know, I thought to myself that that a thief would think of his

  38. or her next theft. A murderer will think of his of

  39. her next victim, adrak addict, will think Of his or her next

  40. shoot or shoot up or next fix. I think they say, you know, the

  41. cop, the lawyer, the doctor, the architect, the CPA, the the end,

  42. the everyone thinks of what pertains to their daily lives.

  43. A worldly person, one who is living in the world and is of

  44. the world because we all live in the world that many of us are

  45. not off the world, we don't conform to the patterns of the

  46. world, but the person that is worldly and is conforming to the

  47. pants of the world will think of what the world deems important.

  48. This is what will go through his or her mind, how to impress, how

  49. to attract, how to go with the flow, How To Succeed, how to

  50. dress to Go to attract social media in person and what have

  51. you? But a Christian Who is defined

  52. as a Christ, loving, honoring worshiping obeying reflecting

  53. brother or sister who has been baptized in the name of the Holy

  54. Trinity received the gift of the Holy Spirit.

  55. At the hands of the priest, by the power vested in the

  56. priesthood of the church. and who has been adopted as a child

  57. of God has to think otherwise beloved A Christian whom I

  58. described is one who is obedient to the holy scriptures.

  59. And one that will make every attempt by the grace and power

  60. of God to live a live thinking of what is favorable with God.

  61. Pondering meditating on what is appeasing pleasing to God in

  62. every actions in every aspects of the daily life.

  63. And what we need to meditate and think about as Christians now.

  64. Remember, Christians are not people that float in the air are

  65. only mysteriously or mystically, you know, present in the world.

  66. Know they are physically. We are physical people.

  67. Living in this world. That means we work.

  68. We plan. We execute our plans.

  69. We live our daily lives. But a Christian must at all

  70. times during his life on Earth think of what Paul States.

  71. Quite clearly in Philippians 4:8, 4:8 meditate Paul says, or

    Philippians 4:8

  72. think of a Ponder on these things that are true.

  73. Those things that are honorable, those that are righteous, those

  74. things that are pure, those things that are precious and

  75. those things that are praiseworthy Deeds of glory and

  76. of Praise, those things that are true.

  77. What is true in a Christian faith?

  78. What is the truth that we live? By that, when we wake up in the

  79. morning we live in the truth that Jesus Christ, Our Lord, our

  80. King, Our Savior, our life giver and the forgiver of our sins is

  81. the Son of God. Definite article must always be

  82. present that. Jesus Christ is the son of God.

  83. And all that goes with that, great and marvelous and gracious

  84. news. Jesus in John chapter, 16 tells

  85. us the Holy Spirit, which we celebrate that this end of the

  86. Holy Spirit, which we celebrate, we celebrated yesterday, or on

  87. Sunday of Pentecost, one of the works of the holy spirit is to

  88. guide us in all the truth and st.

  89. Paul, expands and instructs, that we must meditate on that.

  90. Truth, the truth of Jesus Christ.

  91. Our Lord and our savior, The first thing on our minds

  92. beloved, when we wake up, as soon as we open our eyes, we

  93. must think of Jesus Christ, Our Lord.

  94. We Must Praise Jesus Christ. Our Lord, you know, when I get

  95. out of the bed, I do the sign of my cross of the Trinity and I

  96. Praise Jesus Christ. Praise be to your name, my Lord,

  97. and My Savior Jesus Christ. So as soon as you wake up, you

  98. remember, Jesus Christ. You know whether you wake up on

  99. the right side on the wrong side of the bed, you remember the

  100. Lord Jesus Christ. I'm going to talk about that a

  101. little bit more. And then Paul goes on to say,

  102. think of what he's honorable, when our thoughts are true, that

  103. means our thoughts, our meditation.

  104. Our thinking is that Jesus Christ.

  105. Is the Son of God. My savior, my Lord.

  106. My king, my life giver and the forgiver of a, my of my sins.

  107. It is naturally, followed that everything that I think of will

  108. be. Honorable, our thoughts will be

  109. ethical. Respectable pure moral because

  110. when you think of Jesus Christ, all the attributes of Our Lord

  111. are in mind as well. And The Honorable things that we

  112. are to think of other external out external virtues our

  113. qualities. When the truth of the Lord is in

  114. your mind and you Ponder on that and you meditate on that.

  115. Any think about that? And as I said, the first thing

  116. in the morning, then it's common, that your virtues, your

  117. Deeds, your actions, your qualities will be honorable as

  118. well, because we will begin to imitate our Lord and our Savior.

  119. Jesus Christ. Saint Paul instructs as us to

  120. imitate him. Why?

  121. Because he Imitates. Jesus Christ.

  122. And Paul goes on to say, think of those things that are

  123. righteous. Meaning, what is true?

  124. What is Honorable is righteous is just what is true, which is

  125. Jesus Christ. Is the Son of God, the Son of

  126. God, it is. Honorable, at the same time, we

  127. need to honor this son of God and that is righteousness.

  128. That is just, it is Justified, it is acceptable by who by God.

  129. Heavenly Creator. What is justified by God?

  130. Is obviously then pure and there is no blemish to be found in it.

  131. Think of those things that are pure pure to the soul, Purity,

  132. morality cleanliness, Philippians, 1:27, st.

  133. Paul instructs. Let your conduct Your

  134. Extinction, your reflection of your thoughts, which are your

  135. conducts, your Deeds. Be as becomes the gospel of

  136. Christ, live your life, according to the Gospel of Jesus

  137. Christ. So what is justified by God?

  138. Meaning Al, you know, the right, the truth honorable things, then

  139. lead us to the Purity. The Purity that is pleasing to

  140. God, the Purity that is being demanded commanded Requested

  141. righteously, rightfully by Jesus Christ, Our Lord and our god,

  142. what is praiseworthy? What is commendable?

  143. What is admirable, before we take any steps beloved, before

  144. we take it, make any decisions in our life and it be pertaining

  145. to any aspect of Our Lives. Not just our business and our

  146. spiritual life, and our religious, right?

  147. And our faith and our church life.

  148. No, our marital life. L, you know, our jobs, our

  149. careers, our businesses, our investments, whatever it may be,

  150. that we must do and think of them being command, herbal, and

  151. admirable, admired. By men because we are to reflect

  152. the Lord. Jesus Christ.

  153. You know, the doctors out there who are probably listening to

  154. this podcast. The CPAs, the nurses, the

  155. phlebotomist, whoever it may be listening that everything we do.

  156. We must do for the glory of God because we are children of God

  157. now. Remember, not that we add to or

  158. can take away from the glory of God, know when we do something

  159. that is right, that is true, that is Honorable because

  160. Thinking about it and it's been justified by God and which

  161. brings us to Purity and then it brings us to praiseworthy.

  162. Then God is automatically glorified in you, meaning, you

  163. are glorifying God to yourself within yourself with others by

  164. what you do that is praiseworthy.

  165. So it'd be admirably attractive to men.

  166. But what we do is to be praiseworthy, that means to

  167. glorify our God. Everything that we do, think

  168. about it. What is it that you are doing

  169. right at this moment? What do you do when you wake up

  170. in the morning, during your spare time at work at home,

  171. while you're taking care of the kids, while you're cleaning,

  172. while you're preparing the food for for the husband, and the

  173. children to come home, to whatever you may be doing right

  174. at this moment. Maybe there is a group of men

  175. and women are listening to this podcast right at this moment.

  176. It's your thoughts are where they should be, are with the

  177. Lord Jesus Christ and His holy scriptures.

  178. But what happens after this podcast has ended.

  179. What do you do when you gather together?

  180. But there's no podcast just for a coffee or just to engage in in

  181. communication in talk. What are you talk?

  182. What you do? Does it glorify the Lord?

  183. Jesus Christ. What you are doing?

  184. What you reflect in your act. T' is a truly reflecting.

  185. Your thoughts that should be on what is true and what is

  186. righteous, and what is pure, if not?

  187. Well, as I always say, it's not the end of the world yet, if

  188. not. Well, we need to correct.

  189. We need to admit. First mean to come to that

  190. realization. That do we received?

  191. We accept these words are we agreeing with these words?

  192. Are we are we are acknowledging that this is the true and the

  193. righteous path of Christianity, if yes.

  194. Well, admit that I have fallen away, or I, you know, I'm I'm

  195. flawed. My actions, show the floor nurse

  196. in, in my thinking, what do you do?

  197. Then you stand up. You as I say, dust yourself off

  198. and You Begin The Walk of righteousness.

  199. You try to take your mind. Your own control.

  200. Not what the world, how the world controls it.

  201. Beloved not. How Hollywood controls it?

  202. Not how social media controls it?

  203. Not have Tick-Tock of Facebook or SnapChat, or, or Twitter, or

  204. Instagram control. It know, you control your

  205. thoughts and, you know, it do with those thoughts.

  206. Colossians 3:2. Think of that, which is on high

    Colossians 3:2

  207. and not of that on Earth. In other words, set your minds

  208. on the things that are about. Let your minds be above, is one

  209. of the instructions in the, in the celebration of the Divine

  210. Liturgy of holding porbandar, the Eucharist Allah will never

  211. would but icon, which is from the scriptures.

  212. Let your mind be a bath contemplate.

  213. Meditate think of what is about Is above heaven, the Throne of

  214. God, the Angels praising, the Lord unceasingly, holy holy holy

  215. are you had eesh bodies Cadiz Mary Allah, your minds to be

  216. above where God is sitting enthroned on his glorious.

  217. Throne, our Lord, and our Savior Jesus Christ, at the right hand

  218. of the father, meaning the righteousness of the power, the

  219. fullness of the father, And that he can see from heaven on Earth.

  220. He knows everything. He is everywhere, he can do

  221. everything, and he is expecting for his children. to set their

  222. minds at his feet and to ponder on what he is, pleased with what

  223. appeases him Very simple, think of what is on high and not, what

  224. is on the earth? Saint, John.

  225. Chrysostom comments on this and rights.

  226. Change your thoughts from Earth to Heaven, from visible things.

  227. To those that are Unseen. Keep in mind, always he keep in

  228. mind, think about this. When you wake up in the morning,

  229. when you, when you go on your, you know, your lunch break or

  230. your break at work or your you sit at your desk at work or

  231. well. Now, everyone's working from

  232. home or you're in the kind, you're driving, you know, before

  233. before you get in that car and you hit the Blaster, the Techno,

  234. and the rappin. And I think these are all old

  235. style music, last even music and the, you know, pertaining to

  236. swearing and cussing and, and murdering.

  237. And, and, you know, I don't want to go on because this Podcast is

  238. for the glorification of God. Why don't you just wait for a

  239. second? Give yourself a minute or two

  240. and think about God and thank God.

  241. When you pray, when you wake up in the morning and you pray, ask

  242. the Lord to help you, to bind your thoughts, to capture your

  243. thoughts and to place them at his own feet.

  244. So that at all times, you're thinking of what would God want?

  245. What would God? I'd do.

  246. What would god? What is God, seeing?

  247. How will God react? And keeping in mind beloved to

  248. have that communication with the lord always when we pray and,

  249. you know, I've always mentioned, praise, not just coming to

  250. church and falling on the on the ground at the pews or on a

  251. Sunday or, you know, just the church service at any moment.

  252. After this podcast, you can switch off your medium.

  253. And you can say a quick prayer, Lord, Jesus Christ.

  254. You are the Son of God, I am a Sinner have mercy on me, take my

  255. thoughts in your hands, Lord, keep him there, let me always

  256. meditate on your commands, your statues, your words, and let me

  257. add all-time glorify you. And please you, as I walk on

  258. this Earth and I live in this world, I am going to be in this

  259. world. Lord, I do not ask that, you

  260. take me away from this world if it's not your time in your will

  261. I ask that you keep me in this world is what Jesus Christ.

  262. Prayed for his disciples. I'm not asking father that you

  263. take him out from this world because who's going to go and

  264. preach the good news? Lord, I don't want to be taken

  265. out of this world. How can I reflect you if I'm not

  266. here. How can I preach your name?

  267. Your, Your Glory, your your power, your might, if I'm not on

  268. this Earth but if it appeases you according to a perfect will

  269. and timing keep me on this Earth.

  270. But Lord help me to always think and meditate on you and you

  271. alone. Because you are in full control.

  272. Sometimes. We listened to the media.

  273. And again, the social medias. And the News, there's nothing

  274. positive. There's definitely nothing about

  275. God. And I think it's a way Satan

  276. tries to distract us and to move our thoughts or way that God is

  277. in full control. Beloved, when the disciples are

  278. in the boat with Jesus Christ. And there was a storm that

  279. stone, the storm arose and they started panicking and and maybe

  280. mumbling and murmuring. What, what is he still asleep?

  281. Connie. See that we are perishing here.

  282. And Jesus, when you read the gospel in markets, very calmly,

  283. stands up, wakes up, stands up and says why you fear and

  284. commands to the ocean to be still regardless of what's going

  285. on on Earth? The turmoil, the misery beloved

  286. Jesus Christ is on a throne and he's not moved and will not

  287. Shake. Yeah.

  288. The term we use in the Aramaic language for God is Maria

  289. Alejandra. I could call Lord God who holds

  290. everything the power and glory and might and Majesty, our knees

  291. hands. Keep in mind that he is with us.

  292. He will never leave us nor forsake us.

  293. What we need to do is to keep our minds and our thoughts on

  294. him and him alone, to please him to, please him alone to glorify

  295. him to A fight him alone. Praise be to his name now and at

  296. all times and forever and ever. Amen.

  297. One last thing. Please also don't forget to rate
