  10. your greatness? He's doin light O My Lord.

  12. divine scriptures at all times. Oh Lord of all Father and Son

  13. and Holy Spirit forever. Amen.

  14. Double-edged sword. A Christian podcast Ministry

  15. presented by father, jonard Lazar father.

  16. Jernard is a parish priest of the mud edit Parish of the

  17. Assyrian Church of the East and Turlock.

  18. California. Here's father, jernard.

  19. When a person has been drafted into a sporting game.

  20. Let's say basketball. Now, we cannot say that that

  21. person has gained Victory. No.

  22. In actual fact, the person has been drafted into a life of

  23. discipline training sacrifice until the final game.

  24. When victory has been won and has been conquered.

  25. It's the same with our Christian Life beloved's.

  26. When we believe in Jesus Christ, many claim that they are saved.

  27. But when we read the scriptures, we see That there is an

  28. obligation. There are some Deeds there is

  29. that something that we need to continue to do until the day of

  30. salvation. Our scripture verses Philippians

    Philippians 2:12

  31. 2:12. Now these English translations

  32. that I will present are translated from the ship by

  33. version the official version of the Assyrian Church of the East

  34. and from the Aramaic language Philippians 2:12 states that

    Philippians 2:12

  35. therefore beloved seeing Paul writes just as you have always

  36. obeyed not what I'm need to you only but now when I am far from

  37. you all the more with all, these are some of these are some key

  38. words that I want you to keep in mind.

  39. We're going to talk about this, with all that is fear.

  40. And with trembling do this, Service of your life and some

  41. versions may say all read salvation but hey it do the

  42. service of your life that is work.

  43. The work of your life which life the life that is in Jesus Christ

  44. by Jesus Christ with Jesus Christ and through Jesus Christ.

  45. In many versions, you'll you'll see the word salvation is used.

  46. And yes, you know it is rightly that if a person lives in Jesus

  47. Christ and with Jesus Christ through Jesus Christ, obeys, the

  48. Lord, Jesus Christ for the day of salvation and we'll see what

  49. that is. That person will attain will be

  50. gifted eternal life, but I'd like to use the word life more

  51. favorable than Vacation because I believe that is why salvation

  52. has been watered down. Salvation is just something that

  53. happens at an instant. Let's read more verses in John

    John 3:16

  54. 3:16 Jesus says. And these I will I will tell you

  55. the same dr. James Murdoch's translation of

  56. the shooter for God, so loved the world.

  57. That he gave his only begotten. Son, that whosoever believes in

  58. Him. Should not perish but should

  59. have life. Eternal, not has gained life.

  60. Eternal should have its you know, speaking in the in the

  61. future term George lamps translates for God, so loved the

  62. world that he gave his only begotten son.

  63. So that whoever believes in him, should not perish but have not

  64. has gained eternal life. Should have.

  65. It's a sense of Pride future to future tense.

  66. Let's read more and again, this is dr.

  67. James Murdock's translation of the procedure diversion, Paul's

  68. letter to Titus Chapter 3 Verse 4.

    Titus 3:4

  69. But when the kindness and compassion of God, our life

  70. Giver the fire not savior live. Give it a la magia.

  71. Men don't talk about what this means was revealed not by works

  72. of righteousness which We had done.

  73. God, didn't send his son because we were righteous st.

  74. Paul goes on to say when we were yet, sinners Jesus died for us.

  75. Not that we were worthy but not that, we were righteous or

  76. worthy. But according to his Mercy, his

  77. gracious, Mercy. He vivified not saved vivified.

  78. That means revived, he gave Life To Us by the washing of the new

  79. birth and by the renovation of the Holy Spirit, which is

  80. baptism. Paul writes in his Second

  81. Epistle to the Corinthians chapter 6, verse 24.

  82. He has said, in an acceptable time have I heard you?

  83. And, in the day of life, life in Jesus Christ, the new life that

  84. we receive in Jesus Christ through baptism, because we're

  85. being put to death and we are given life the life in Jesus

  86. Christ. I have aided you behold.

  87. Now is the accepted Optimal time and behold now is the day of

  88. life in the Aramaic version. That should the version not

  89. salvation life. Yes, true.

  90. If we continue in this life, we will see the day of salvation.

  91. We will receive eternal life and we will be saved from Eternal

  92. damnation. And when is that, when we, when

  93. will we receive this Ephesians 4:30 and grieve?

    Ephesians 4:30

  94. Not the holy spirit of God whereby, you are sealed for the

  95. day of redemption or salvation. There is a day of redemption and

  96. salvation which is when the Lord returns, let me read it again

  97. and grieve, not the holy spirit of God whereby you are sealed.

  98. When we baptize a child and infant, which is biblical and an

  99. adult after the actual immersion in water, the candidate, it's

  100. actually sealed by the right hand of the priest who has

  101. received the authority in the laying on of the hands.

  102. And by the oil of unction resembling, or representing the

  103. holy spirit, that person is sealed with the cross of Our

  104. Lord, For the day of salvation, that person has not been saved.

  105. That person has not received salvation, but has shall have

  106. salvation, be a candidate of Salvation.

  107. If that person remains in Jesus Christ, and does the work of

  108. life, Mark 16:16, Jesus, commands, instructs and sets it

    Mark 16:16

  109. straight. He who believes, he doesn't stop

  110. him as he he who believes who has faith and is baptized as a

  111. deed and is baptized lives has life that the translation again

  112. in English language is salvation.

  113. And and at times the father's also use the term but not to be

  114. taken lightly. I'd rather use the term life not

  115. to claim that I am saved st. Paul says, in 1 Corinthians

    1 Corinthians 10 chapter mention

  116. chapter 10, those who are standing in faith, be careful

  117. that they may not slip and fall, but continue the good fight and

  118. the struggle. So we have been sealed with the

  119. seller, the Seal of the Holy Spirit, we have been sealed for

  120. the day of redemption. That means we've been sealed

  121. with the Holy Spirit, which means that both Our spirit and

  122. our soul are impressed with God's own seal signifying.

  123. That we belong to him. That that we have been saved

  124. that, we belong to him. But what I want to concentrate

  125. on is the second part of Paul's second.

  126. Part of the Philippians 2:12 where Paul says, with all that

    Philippians 2:12

  127. is fear. And with trembling, do the

  128. service of your life or work, the work of your life in by way

  129. through Jesus Christ, what are these works?

  130. Praying. So redundant, right, so watered

  131. down. Yeah, that's what you say.

  132. Every time I have an issue, you told me to pray.

  133. I mean praying, yeah, it helps. But, you know sometimes, well no

  134. praying is a very significant part of the work of our life

  135. with Jesus Christ. So John chrysostom writes, the

  136. highest good is prayer and conversation with god.

  137. If we stop there, I mean, Saint John continues, but if I just

  138. stop there, that's why it sounds a little redundant and watered

  139. down here. I'm talking to God.

  140. I don't even see God. So, how am I supposed to talk to

  141. God? But look at what he says, he

  142. goes on to say that because it means that we are in God's

  143. company. And in Union with him, when we

  144. are praying praying in the spirit, praying with a, with a

  145. contrite spirit, Praying in humility praying in worship,

  146. praying, in honor, in adoration to that, we are in Union with

  147. him, noticing John doesn't say that we are in communion with

  148. God, but we are in Union. That is to be joined with God,

  149. in mind in Seoul, and in spirit, but we're going to talk about

  150. the word communion. There is another deed and other

  151. work of our work with our in our life.

  152. With Jesus Christ that Intel's So praying is an essential work

  153. of our life in Jesus Christ. No prayer means no Union with

  154. God, praying is an offspring of our faith.

  155. We cannot claim that we believe in God, when we are not entering

  156. the presence of God. Can you claim?

  157. How can you dare to claim that you believe in God?

  158. You believe in Jesus Christ, but there is no Union with The Lord.

  159. And He, the father, and His Son and the Holy Spirit.

  160. You have faith in God, it needs to be united through prayer.

  161. If we have faith and we believe you night that Faith through

  162. prayer with God, just as faith without Deeds is dead James,

    James 2:20

  163. chapter 2 verse 20. So to, we can conclude that

  164. faith without prayer. Lex our Union with God beloved,

  165. but we need to perform with fear of the soul and the trembling of

  166. the body. When we pray and you enter the

  167. Lord's presence, you cannot enter it so casually and slumped

  168. on a couch and and you know waving your feet around and

  169. talking to the guy Ally God here I am.

  170. I remember one of them this is going back a while.

  171. I'm in Sydney we were looking for a place to worship and to

  172. offer a you know, celebrate the The Divine Liturgy of holy

  173. quote, Urbana in the city, those who are listening from Australia

  174. st. George?

  175. Shin not Marita, but she hosted The margaritas in my travels.

  176. I think it was so we looked all over the place, we found this

  177. uniting church and was not sure if it was the uniting church

  178. premises or Anglican. I was speaking to the, to the

  179. pastor and and we got talking about the Aramaic language and,

  180. and back then, you know, spoke about the The Late Model who

  181. wasn't so fun. And of translating the Aramaic

  182. language and what have you? So the Pastor said, you know, I

  183. totally understand father. He said the Eastern churches

  184. have truly preserved the reverence and sovereignty of God

  185. because we believe at times that God is the the bloat next door.

  186. I you see him and he said, hey, hi, hey, hey, you go mate, you

  187. know what's going on? What's going on?

  188. What's Happening, you know, but with the Eastern churches, when

  189. we pray When we hear the name of God or Jesus Christ, if the

  190. demons shutter, we must tremble and fear because of his

  191. sovereignty, not that he's cruel and he will, he will take

  192. Vengeance. But because of the respect that

  193. is why when we pray the father's teachers, that women need to

  194. prostrate, we need to bow down in prayer.

  195. When we read the Holy scriptures, all those who return

  196. to Jesus Christ because they had received something for me.

  197. Me, they came and worshipped at his feet.

  198. This is what st. Paul is talking about in

  199. reverence, in fear, we come to pray and that is when you feel

  200. it, beloved, we say, I don't feel like when I'm praying, I

  201. don't feel it. Well, maybe you should examine

  202. how you're praying the process of your prank, the practicality

  203. of your prayer, close your door, light your candle Have your

  204. gospel. There you have your have the,

  205. the the cross of our Lord. And on your knees, prostrating,

  206. before the Lord. Because we are entering the

  207. Lord's presence, try, praying this way What about the Holy

  208. Eucharist but about a tradition? It is through the Holy Eucharist

  209. that we not only have Union with God, but rather communion with

  210. Jesus Christ, Our Lord that is sharing or exchanging of

  211. intimate, thoughts and feelings. It's from a dictionary.

  212. Communion is the sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts

  213. and feelings, intimate. I say during the marriage

  214. counseling sessions when a couple Decide to get married and

  215. you know, approach to approach the church to bless them in holy

  216. matrimony. During the sessions, the three

  217. sessions that we're hey we have a allude to this and I say if a

  218. husband And a wife's relationship, lack the coming

  219. together as one body and I know I'm sure you, you know what I'm

  220. talking about st. Paul is quite clear on this in 1

    1 Corinthians 7 chapter mention

  221. Corinthians chapter 7. Unfortunately, you know what?

  222. I'm not going to go there 1 Corinthians.

    1 Corinthians 7 chapter mention

  223. Chapter 7 coming together as one body.

  224. Consuming the marriage that they're the couple have

  225. received. If that relationship that

  226. intimate relationship is lacking we presume and always subsea.

  227. We suspect that there is a relationship problem and if the

  228. reluctancy or unwillingness is from one partner then that

  229. partner is the problem is the cause and that partner will have

  230. to give an answer to So two beloved we as the church being

  231. the bride of Christ, who is the Heavenly bridegroom?

  232. Have a communion with the Trinity during the partaking of

  233. the all sanctifying body and blood of Jesus Christ.

  234. This is the Canon, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ in a love

  235. of God, the father and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be

  236. with us all. Let's read some scriptures and

  237. see how we have this relationship, John 15:5.

    John 15:5

  238. Jesus says, I am the vine and you are the branches.

  239. He that abideth in me and I in him, he yieldeth much fruit for

  240. without me. You can do nothing.

  241. John 6:56. He that eateth my D and drinketh

    John 6:56

  242. my blood abides in me and I in him.

  243. There is a relationship. There is a communion Saint

  244. Cyril, Cyril of Alexandria comments.

  245. If one joins two pieces of wax, one will see that one has become

  246. part of the other in a similar manner.

  247. I suppose the person who receives the Flesh of our savior

  248. Christ and drinks his Precious Blood shall be one with him.

  249. Can we dare to say that this is not a work of the work?

  250. Our life in Jesus Christ with Jesus Christ by Jesus Christ

  251. through Jesus Christ. But we need to do it with all.

  252. That is Extreme, seriousness utmost urgency a matter of life

  253. and death spiritually. That is why we are constantly

  254. beating the drums, come to church on a Sunday.

  255. It's not about numbers. It shouldn't be about numbers,

  256. and if it is about numbers, it is wrong.

  257. It is non beneficial. It is about the body of Christ,

  258. the members of the flock of, Jesus Christ, Christians who

  259. have received baptism have been put to death with Christ, have

  260. been brought to life with Christ and are living and want to live

  261. in Christ for the day of salvation must come.

  262. In a matter of urgency seriousness, I need to go to

  263. church. I need to partake in the Holy

  264. Eucharist, I need to have that spiritual relationship with my

  265. heavenly bridegroom so that I can remain in him remaining in.

  266. Jesus Christ is not only through prayer and believing and doing

  267. good deeds. John 6:53 255 and Jesus said to

    John 6:53

  268. them? Amen.

  269. Amen. And I said because that's how it

  270. is written in the shuttle, I mean, that means yes, yes, I say

  271. to you emphasizing that I'm less, you eat the body of the

  272. son of man and drink his blood. You have no life, which life the

  273. life that we have been introduced in, with Jesus Christ

  274. through baptism. You don't have that life with

  275. You because there is no Christ, there is no relationship with

  276. Jesus Christ but he that eats my body and drinks my blood to him

  277. is life eternal and I will raise him up at the last day for my

  278. body. Truly is food and my blood truly

  279. is drink. So John chrysostom comments on

  280. this and writes that Jesus means to assure that.

  281. What he had said was no mere Enigma puzzling or difficult to

  282. understand. And or a parable but that we

  283. must really eat the body of Christ to remain in life, with

  284. Jesus Christ, to remain in that, spiritual intimate relationship

  285. with Jesus Christ. Until the day of salvation.

  286. The day of redemption, Matthew 26:26, take eight.

    Matthew 26:26

  287. This is my body. Jesus, commands.

  288. Paul writes in his first epistle to the Corinthians.

  289. The 10 verse 16, the bread, which we break, is it, not the

  290. communion of the body of the Christ?

  291. So the message of this episode beloved is not just the holy

  292. Corbin or prayer, but that we do it in trembling and in fear.

  293. So the message of this episode is, do not take the work of your

  294. life in Jesus Christ with a grain of salt.

  295. And we only spoke about to praying and the Holy Eucharist

  296. about arms giving what about fasting?

  297. And there are more that we haven't covered, but you work it

  298. out. This is where you need to work

  299. out your life in Jesus Christ. Where do you stand as far as the

  300. deeds? And many will say Deeds have no

  301. effect whatsoever. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Matthew

  302. chapter. 16 Jesus says, when the son of man returns in the glory

  303. and All His angels, He will repay every person according to

  304. his deeds, the work. That he worked while he was

  305. claiming to be in me and the scriptures are so vocal.

  306. So so loud on being judged, according to Deeds.

  307. Which pertains to Salvation which pertains to eternal life.

  308. Be serious. Don't let Satan through many

  309. means. Through his trickeries.

  310. Distort the truth. Same Peter writes this in his

  311. first epistle, 5:8 be sober and guarded because Satan, your

  312. adversary, your enemy like a lion roars and goes about and

  313. seeks, whom he may devour. And man, one of many ways, Satan

  314. can devour is through falsehood and heresies and through how I

  315. believe I should live. My life in Jesus Christ.

  316. You know Christ didn't leave it open-ended he didn't preach and

  317. say every person for their own I'll accept no that's why Saint.

  318. Paul writes Philippians 2:12. In fear with awe and trembling

    Philippians 2:12

  319. do the services of your life or The Works work, the work of your

  320. life in Jesus Christ. Because the enemy is trying to

  321. devour, we're going to have to talk about this next episode.

  322. I will talk about the trickeries of Satan.

  323. How does Satan plan work, and how does he execute his

  324. trickeries and his deception to the point where we believe that

  325. we are in the Lord? But when we searched the

  326. scriptures and we listen to the holy church, we see we are so

  327. distant. But Christ is gracious.

  328. Beloved the father is awaiting. All those who have left afar and

  329. want to return one more time with open arms to embrace you.

  330. And I so let's be serious about our work, how we live our lives

  331. as Christians, and let's live it in fear.

  332. And in trembling that is in respect total revenue.

  333. To God, our creator to him. Be glory now in at all times and

  334. forever. Amen.
