Episode 25: Breaking Pride

One of our dear listeners has requested that we speak and

discuss the topic of Pride and I will be more than proud to do

that. It is one of the dangerous

elements of factors in one's Christian Life.

When we read the scriptures in, Proverbs chapter 16 verses 18 to

Proverbs 16:18–19

19, it states that disgrace or let's say dishonor or shame is

before ruin, and pride of spirit before, Misfortune The Humble

spirit, and humble eyes are better than he that divides

loot. That is wealth with a mighty.

So pride is the killer of Honor, killer of respect, is the killer

of reputation Saint John chrysostom quotes and rights.

Let us not be proud at all. He goes on to say for if he who

is God and Lord and Son of God did not refuse to take the form

of a slave or a servant much. Whoa, much more.

We must do everything even if they are humble.

He continues. So let me so I'm sorry.

So, tell me, man, where does your pride come from, from what

do you own in life? But these leave before they even

appear? Is it from the spiritual?

But there is one and only spiritual achievement and that

is not to be proud. So if you're proud of your

So why are you so proud because you achieve something listen to

what crisis. When you do what you are

commanded to do and that is to forgive your brother who sins

Number one. Hate it.

You probably thought prayer, right?

temporal belongs to the Earth. Our souls are remanded in sheol

awaiting, the return of the Lord for that final judgment.

Now, you know, when we speak Earthly just ages, I'm putting

it in an Earthly perspective. But in eternity, it's different.

Let's wait. Where are we?

Right now, we're on the earth. When we enter, eternity will

understand what it means, right? But with our Eternal and carnal,

understanding our souls are remanded in Rest in paradise for

those who have been obedient. Into the word of God and in

torment in sheol and the spirit returns to God, according to

Ecclesiastes chapter 12, verse 17 and one of the Theologian,

nothing and that includes the bringing forth of the fruit of

humility to be humble. Saint ephrem the Assyrian rights

say that you have done it through your own labors or with

your own strength, you know? Something that's why when Jesus.

Instructs, his disciples. That they ought to forgive seven

times a day. Forgive a brother seven times a

servant? Do you think will come back from

the plow? And his master will say, come

eat with me. No, he won't.

He will say, first prepare for a me a meal.

I will eat and drink and then you come follow.

You can you can, you know, eat after me and then he asked the

vain glory and pride. So pride is not only in, you

Saint ephrem continues. He says if you fast keep vigils

sleep on bare ground, sing Psalms serving the altar or do a

great number of prostrations, say that it was done with God's

help and protection, not by your own strength and effort.

This is the level of humility that we need to attain in order

to claim rightly that we have overcome pride and beloved

always keep Mind, our Christian Life is a marathon.

Not a hundred meter dash, no one can claim that they've ran the

100 meters. They've made it st.

Paul, who was called by Jesus Christ, who heard the Lord Jesus

Christ, who was a chosen vessel by Jesus Christ.

Who writes that whether I have attained it or not, that means

glorification Perfection. I do not know.
