Do you know the Bible is God's Holy Word? Do
-
you know it is inspired, in errant, and infallible? If so, like, share,
-
subscribe and support this podcast. So we are Maranatha Ministries
-
and now Reduction draweth nigh.
-
All right, everybody, welcome to the program. I'm your host, Matthew. Tonight,
-
we have a very special guest from a very long
-
time ago, way back when we got our ministry off
-
the ground, way back in twenty ten. Within a few
-
years I think around twenty twelve some timeframe like that,
-
we acquired a very good confidante, lists say, and he
-
had his own ministry and that ministry was called eighteen
-
seventy and due to circumstances, which I'm going to have
-
him explain, he kind of dropped out of the limelight
-
for circumstances. I'll let him explain. Like I said, but
-
the other day I got the umption from the Holy
-
Spirit to hey, you need to check on Derek. So
-
I grabbed my phone, I looked, and come to find out,
-
the last time I had called Derek was back in
-
twenty twenty. So we're going to get an update from
-
him what he's been doing, and more importantly, where he's
-
at with his ministry, because one thing that I know
-
of Derek, in one way, shape or form, he is ministering.
-
That's what he does. I mean, I could describe what
-
his employment is, I can describe how many children he is.
-
I can describe to you. You know, he might be
-
a coach of some certain sport. All that things rest aside.
-
When you interact with Derek, you come to the realization
-
that all those things are really just extras of Derek,
-
and Derek is a Christian, That's really what he is.
-
So Derek, why don't you explain to everybody just who
-
you are and more importantly, where you came from, how
-
we gotten to contact are two different ministries, and just
-
paint us a picture from that time to today.
-
So, yeah, we would have.
-
Met, say round about twenty twelve, and I can't remember
-
exactly when in that timeframe, but yeah, I had been
-
a Christian for a few years at that time, a
-
handful of years. And you know, as everybody else there knows,
-
I grew up in Georgia. I grew up in the
-
Bible Belt. I've always been around Christian influence, but there
-
was no Bible.
-
I mean, there was one of a house. I read
-
a couple verses out of it I thought talked about aliens.
-
At one point.
-
I was pretty curious about that, so as a little kid,
-
I read that verse something to Ezekiel, which had nothing
-
to do with aliens. But anyways, I read it, you know,
-
and that was what I knew of Scripture, very nothing
-
at all. And then in my late twenties, I found
-
Christ in a very isolated, introverted kind of way, adjacent
-
to the very isolated introverted life.
-
I grew up in.
-
I grew up in a rural area with very little
-
outside influence. Outside of my life. It's basically me and
-
my dad sometimes.
-
In the woods, with nobody within a mile of.
-
Us, you know, as a little kid for much of
-
my life and not my entire life. I also lived
-
in the suburbs in the South side of Atlanta for
-
a good part of my life too. So I found
-
faith in my late twenties, and I just was full
-
of questions, and because the thing that amazed me was
-
that the people I found when I found faith and
-
I began to talk about my faith, people nobody had
-
like a foundational reference point for their faith.
-
It was all hearsay they heard rumors of this, and
-
this guy said this, and this guy said this, like I,
-
it must be true.
-
And I was much more of a I don't want
-
to get down to the fact what my faith is
-
all about, you know. So I was I had started
-
reading the Bible. I said, if I won't believe in this,
-
and it took me a little bit, obviously to sort
-
through whether not I'm going to believe in this stuff.
-
And I said, I believe in this, but uh, if
-
I'm going to believe in God and in a creator,
-
I must read his handbook he left me. So yeah,
-
I read his handbook, and man, I was so full
-
of questions. So on down the line, I've been reading
-
and I'm just trying to find anybody who has answers
-
to what is the script for talking about sometimes?
-
You know.
-
I mean I'd read it, and I'd read it, and
-
I was starting to see connections on things, and I would.
-
Hear what people talk about that pop up on the
-
TV or people pop up on local radio shows. And
-
some of this stuff was good. You know, it's good
-
stuff for your heart.
-
You know, how to love people, how to live, which
-
is very important. But at the same time it's like, man,
-
there was just no scripture in it.
-
You know.
-
I'm like, God left this, this owner of Manuel for
-
a reason. You know, if I got a vacuum cleaner,
-
it came with an owner's manual. I'm like, I'm a
-
lot more complex in a vacum cleaner.
-
I should have an.
-
Owner's manual tell me how to life works. And came
-
across Matthew. You were doing the show called The End
-
Time Tribune at the time. When I came across y'all
-
and now y'all are talking scripture, and y'all were pulling threads,
-
and I'm like, these are these little dots I'm seeing
-
And I've realized.
-
When you connect this one, it connects back over here, and.
-
This connects here, and this connects here, but it all
-
still connects back to this. And I could see that
-
studying the scripture, but I just had so many questions
-
and this was the first place I had found that
-
was making these connections. And uh, I just started listening
-
and then all of a sudden, Man, I'm I'm like, I.
-
Was pumped up and I was encouraged.
-
I started as like, well, I'm gonna get on this
-
blog talk thing and figure out how this works.
-
You know. I started trying to figure out how to
-
do it, and I started talking about the connections.
-
I was seeing the things, and I did that for
-
a while and it just you know, it went on
-
for a little ways there, and I got to hang
-
out with Matthew and God so many other people that
-
came along there, not time. There was a good three
-
four year run there. We probably had it. It feels
-
like three or four years.
-
I don't know how long it was really, but it
-
was several years for sure, were with me involved.
-
You've obviously still been doing the same thing. But uh yeah,
-
that was uh, I mean, that was how we met.
-
That was how we got it got going there, and
-
uh really I think I was doing like what you
-
were doing light and so when you were doing your
-
Bible studies Light, I was, hey, you know, these these
-
scriptures connect. You know, there's so many ways this stuff
-
connects to I was amazed every time.
-
Somebody's like, hey, I heard this new way to connect.
-
Oh yeah, let me show you this boom.
-
You know, it's like, oh yeah, okay, the Bible revolves
-
around itself.
-
Let me show this trick.
-
You know, all the Hebrew and Greek work together. Yeah,
-
watch what happens when you do these words together. It's
-
like you knew all this stuff already.
-
You know.
-
And I was like, this is amazing, and uh, I
-
kind of talked about some of the same stuff, but obviously,
-
I say, light, I was nowhere near the same level
-
you were on with this. And that's how we got
-
together and we started to talking about things.
-
Man, open my eyes to look at things I never
-
conceived looking at.
-
But at the end of the day, it was all
-
rooted in scripture. It not rooted in you know, Hey,
-
I've got this crazy idea. I had this wild dream.
-
I ate some bad pizza last night, you know, and
-
this I've got this new idea.
-
We're going to doo. No, it was it was in here.
-
All you had to do was this is English, get this,
-
get a concordance, compare the Hebrew and Greek. Goes with it,
-
and it was all there. You know. That was.
-
As amazing to have the Bible as your source of knowledge.
-
Not how did Christ say it? Was it rumors of
-
not rumors of men, which I remember where Christ said
-
it now I want to quot him when'm a misquote
-
Christ that the traditions of men. That's what it was.
-
That's what I'm quoting it with what traditions of men.
-
I grew up knowing traditions of men. You know, I
-
knew that the Bible and the Bible. I knew the
-
Devil was read with a pitchfork and have pointed ears
-
and was in a place that was really fiery.
-
You know, That's what I knew from tradition.
-
Watching TV, I started reading the Bible and I'm like, well,
-
none of this stuff was in here, you know, I
-
mean just so many little things.
-
Uh yeah, we're all gonna fly away to save our souls.
-
You know. I couldn't find that one in there. We're
-
all gonna, Uh what was the other one? Jesus died
-
on dog woo tree.
-
It's one of my favorite ones. Jesus died on a
-
dogwood tree. And that's why a dogwood tree is not straight.
-
Every day I'm like, man, dogwood tree is not straight.
-
You know, go read the Bible the first time. I'm like,
-
where's the thing about the dogwood tree? You know, maybe
-
that's what gopher wood was. Yet, look and I ain't
-
what gopher wood is, Like, what does.
-
This dogwood tree thing? Yeah? Just I knew traditions. Man,
-
I didn't know the word.
-
So yeah, that's uh, that's where I found you. And
-
we just we dug into the.
-
Word and uh, I don't know how much far you
-
want me to go till I go to the Ford apartment.
-
That's how we got to us getting together.
-
Well, you know, you need to kind of fill in
-
the blanks with you know, I appreciate why you always
-
called your ministry eighteen seventy. Now now I know I
-
know where it comes from, but they don't. So why
-
don't you tell us how that exactly dawned on you
-
and you started doing this ministry called eighteen seventy? What's
-
the catch?
-
So I don't remember how the idea came to me
-
to look here, but we were going and I what
-
did it? Because I had to have a logging name.
-
It maybe because at the time you had to have
-
used names. I don't remember, and I might I might
-
be wrong with that part, but at the time I'm
-
looking back twenty twelve or so, you got to have
-
user names for everything, you know, and it was I
-
was like, well, what it would be my username?
-
What would be something that is me but also just
-
my own thing? But yet it's still me and so
-
I'm really I don't have it here. We'll say, say,
-
Shaun record its.
-
I opened it up one day and I'm studying these words,
-
and I'm digging through its scripture, and this is probably,
-
I think, honestly, before I had met you, I had
-
already found this.
-
I was digging through my scripture and I remember they're
-
talking about the way Christians are the Way.
-
In the beginning, they were the Way. I'm like, okay,
-
that's interesting, they're the Way. Okay, before they were called Christians,
-
they were called the Way. And I got back in
-
Hebrew and I'm reading about the Way, and I'm studying
-
in the Hebrew and I'm looking at a cord it.
-
So I'm like, that's my name, you know in Hebrew.
-
The name Derek in Hebrew is eight eighteen seventy. And
-
I'm like that day I was like, well, there's my handle.
-
You know, I'm a grow up watching smoking to bandit.
-
You had a handle on the CEBE radio, and I'm like, well,
-
there's my handle right there. Eighteen seventy's that's my name
-
for your simple handle. To have your own name just
-
encoded in the way that people might not realize it's
-
your name, so the eighteen seventy things stuck. It is
-
my name in Hebrew, at least that would be transliterated
-
in Hebrew. Transliterate my name in Hebrew. It means the way,
-
and it is Derek. It is eight eighteen seventy. See,
-
and that's the origin of how eighteen seventy came.
-
So you keep referencing back the strongs concordance, So tell me,
-
did you already have a strong concordance before you met me?
-
I did. I actually had been studying with the Shampson
-
cord its.
-
I mean, because I knew the Bible was written in
-
other languages, and I didn't really know which ones, but
-
I always knew I was obviously reading a translation I mean,
-
because this one is my reading Bible, New King James.
-
Uh.
-
The Bible on my iPad that I read from is
-
English Standard version. The audio Bible which is on this
-
phone right here that I used to listen to audio
-
is New American Standard, and my King James is I mean,
-
my strong is King James version. So I obviously had
-
knew there were different translations, and so early on I
-
was like I wish I knew what the source said.
-
But I tried learning Spanish and I didn't go too well.
-
So I knew me learning a dead language was not
-
going to.
-
Go very well either.
-
And somehow nother came across a strong I believe it
-
was a gull on TV had mentioned as Sharanth's cord
-
as trom Amorcractly. I was just scrolling through channels one
-
day guys talked about Sharleton cordence. So, uh, yeah, I
-
looked one up and I saw what was in it,
-
and I was like, this is amazing. I bought me
-
one and I was reading. And this is probably two
-
years maybe three years before I had met you, because
-
I know I had one in twenty ten. So yeah,
-
at least about twenty ten, I had a seanc cordance
-
and I was digging in it and I was studying it,
-
and you know, it was uh and man, it was
-
eye opening, you know, just to learn that how much
-
depth of meaning there was in this language. That I
-
can somewhat read Hebrew and Greek extremely slowly and very poorly.
-
I mean like maybe a first grade level. I can
-
read Hebrew and Greek. I can look at it and
-
kind of understand what I was seeing I still have
-
to have a dictionary to define this.
-
Stuff, you know.
-
In fairness, I'm kind of that way with English too,
-
so now that i'm the extremely very in depth of
-
the English language.
-
But yeah, and I started reading this Charleston Cord it
-
so and then that's, uh, that's where I got to handle,
-
you know.
-
And I think I had it because of the early
-
on like saying, I was happing to set up usernames
-
for stuff, and I just it was something I needed.
-
And it has man, it has stuck.
-
It is.
-
Uh.
-
I still to this day use it for a lot
-
of things, you know. I see what I'm doing nowadays
-
is still called eighteen seventy. So it is the root
-
of everything. This about everything I'm doing going forward, with
-
anything I do in my life, if I have to
-
give it a name or a title to it, it's
-
got eighteen seventy in it some kind of way.
-
Well, you know, do this for us, Derek. You were
-
obviously at the top of your game there when you
-
were doing your ministry on first the broadcast on BTR
-
you said, and then you got to the YouTube channel.
-
So you replied to me in a text that now
-
use in a different life phase. So is that what happened?
-
Is that what got you out of the ministry, because
-
you obviously stopped at some point in time, So what
-
is it that made you stop?
-
So there are a few a few layers to this,
-
you know.
-
Obviously, you know with the old BTR days, you can
-
see who's reading and who's looking and stuff. You know,
-
how many people are seeing your stuff, and you could
-
just tell what your your circle. I could tell the
-
people I was interacting with more or less, there were
-
also the same people you were interacting with. Like I
-
wasn't reaching new ground, you know. I was like, as
-
I'm if I'm doing.
-
Anything, you're trying to break out new territory, you know,
-
if you're trying to spread the gospel and spread it
-
to new areas well, if I'm just I realized after
-
a while I was only coming behind you and.
-
Hitting the same area as you were hitting. And I'm like,
-
I'm not really stretching my net out to new waters.
-
So I'm not.
-
I just felt like at some point I'm not being
-
useful this way, not with what I was doing. Obviously
-
this doesn't mean I quit study ships here, of course,
-
but uh, I'm sitting there and I'm still doing my
-
same studying, and I was like, what can I do
-
to reach more people? So and as I'm realizing this,
-
I'm thinking this, a few phases of my life changed.
-
Number One, my kids were getting older. They were getting
-
They were little when we started doing I mean twenty twelve,
-
they were seven and three, so they were young obviously
-
in twenty twelve, and they were getting older and never
-
get more involved the stuff. But at the same time,
-
I was in my church that I had been with here,
-
local that I've been going to for years now, and
-
I had they had obviously everybody knew from Bible studying
-
with me. I had read this thing, you know, it
-
was pretty obvious when questions got asked.
-
I had to read it.
-
And every now and then they'd be a studying something
-
and they would, you know, the pastor. I'll never forget this.
-
One time the pastor comes over there and I had
-
said something and he comes and looks at my Bible
-
see if I was cheating. He looks somebody's looking at
-
I was.
-
Like, God, you did that for a memory, you know,
-
because I don't remember what We were reading something and
-
Daniel and I don't remember what it was, I said, now.
-
But uh, I when that happened, people started asking me
-
to teach at the church for and it was like
-
our pastors because I go to a methdist church, and
-
so uh the way methis do they change out pastors
-
ever so often. And so he was the founding pastor
-
of the church. He was leaving, we were getting a
-
new one, and they had asked me to teach the
-
Wednesday nights Bible school time to fill in the gaps.
-
And I ended up teaching that class for several years.
-
But when I started teaching that class and I got
-
to interact with people, it was a lot only to
-
try to do that and also try to do the
-
radio stuff. Because I am not very technologically literate. I
-
didn't know how this stuff worked. I didn't have a
-
good setup. I mean back then I had a how
-
was I even I think I was connecting on my
-
cell phone. Audio is horrible.
-
I had it just a cell phone trying to connect
-
into it.
-
I might have had a tablet that I was trying
-
to hotspot off my cell phone. And I had issues
-
with a crashing on me in the middle of doing stuff,
-
and it just it was a frustrating technologically way to
-
do this because I didn't.
-
I didn't I didn't own computer or nothing.
-
So I just realized, I said, I can now see
-
when I'm interacting with people physically, it's I'm bearing fruit.
-
On the BTR side, I didn't feel like I was
-
bearing fruit. There say, there was people I was talking
-
to and interacting with, but again, I just felt like
-
I'm riding behind the trail you had already made, and
-
I feel like sometimes I'm just making a mess out
-
of this trailer. I'm not helping, you know anything. Probably
-
when I get done, Matthew is like, hey, that was
-
very good. We're gonna tend this on refrigerator.
-
He I.
-
We'll go out behind you clean this mess up you
-
just made while you're not looking, you know, and probably.
-
Correct the four million things I said that were you know,
-
scripturally wrong, you know. So I'm like, well, maybe I
-
need to figure out another way to be useful. So
-
I went off into the side of working directly with
-
my church and working interacting with people directly, which was
-
eye opening because on the PTR side you can't see people.
-
I'm speaking to a camera and I know.
-
In my head this makes sense, but I may not
-
be articulating it very well. And so getting to work
-
with people really helped me learn that, Man, I have
-
to explain this stuff. And I can tell when I
-
talk to people in their eyes gloss over first class
-
I ever taught. I lost the entire class. I think
-
by like the fourth verse, we were in Revelation God,
-
we were in fifteen or sixteen.
-
We're in fifteen. I finished.
-
We were studying book relation in church, and I picked
-
up in Revelation fifteen and I had a chart of
-
the tabernacle, and I said, watch all this stuff up
-
here in a tabernacle, and watch all these things appear
-
in this ver in this chapter here, and I started
-
going over and I ain't lined. By the fourth verse,
-
I had lost the entire room. I had dumped so
-
much information on them, and I was like, okay, And
-
that was eye opening to me that I've got to
-
figure out how to explain this stuff better, how to
-
articulate these things. And that was that direction went there,
-
And as my kids got older and older, I got
-
to experience more different groups of people to h to
-
explain this stuff too. And then then of course my
-
work schedule changed, and then I woun't teach on urch
-
no more.
-
So that completely all changed, and eventually I moved twenty nineteen.
-
I moved to where I live at now, and out
-
here was there was no internet, there was no cell service,
-
so there was going to be no more BTR, no
-
more YouTube, no nothing here. And it lived this what lived,
-
I mean almost all. I don't think I had air power,
-
you know, no running no running water.
-
I have a well accepted tank, all that stuff.
-
No no cell phone, no phone line, no internet, and
-
absolute heaven.
-
Yeah, best place in the world to be. When COVID happened,
-
Oh my god. But yeah this uh so Obviously at
-
that point the BTR days for me were completely done.
-
There was no way to even connect and the ability
-
to get on the internet only came back for me
-
a year ago. So uh so, yeah, basically.
-
But in that time, the cool thing that I have
-
learned is I've gotten better at dealing with people. I've
-
gotten better at reading people and telling man, am I losing.
-
This person when I'm talking to them?
-
And I've got a lot more crafty and how I
-
deliver my messages that I have I'm talking about something
-
so that I don't lose the person I'm talking to
-
because at first, man, I was I was a fire hoseer.
-
Oh I my unaquote Matthew here. Now, I was giving am.
-
Both barrel straight to the chest, you know, and it
-
was too much for him. They couldn't handle it. So
-
you know, I had to learned that one, and I
-
learned that. So, yeah, that ministry, it was a different phase.
-
That ministry closed. But I'm always you know, I'm a believer.
-
I'm always walking in the faith. And even when I'm
-
messing up and I'm getting off the path, sometimes God
-
I'll tug you and pull you back, you know. But
-
I'm always walking in the path and I'm always whatever I'm.
-
Doing, you know, I'm trying my best to be with
-
God along the way, and I'm always going to be
-
trying to all on that path.
-
Man, be a light shining in the darkness, no matter
-
what path I'm on, no matter where I'm at. And
-
you know, life changes, you know.
-
With moving here, Man, I thought I had, Oh Lord,
-
I thought I had God's playing for me figured out.
-
It is the most hilarious thing in the world because
-
I think God let it play out exactly like I
-
thought it was going to go.
-
Until everything came together and I of it worked out.
-
My life completely changed directions on me.
-
So you know, it's interesting how when you think you
-
haven't figured out, God shows.
-
You how little you know.
-
So, yeah, everything around here changed, And I mean, who
-
would have thought that a couple of years ago. I'm
-
coaching a softball team that's my daughter started playing softball,
-
and the amount of time and dedication that takes, you know,
-
But at the same time, you imagine how it is
-
to be in that intent.
-
Of an environment and.
-
You know, you're not running around saying for a lot
-
of words everybody you're You're not You're not going home
-
and drinking every day.
-
You know, you're not doing.
-
All the things that people in this environment do. I'm
-
not doing all those things, and I'm being true to
-
my faith. And yet I'm still I'm still I'm still
-
being intense, I'm still coaching a team.
-
All the things we do, I'm still teaching to be competitive.
-
Yet I'm doing it completely through a Christian lens, which
-
is not something you see a lot of You can
-
tell it's a lot of these guys that do this
-
kind of work are not They may have their faith,
-
but they're not as heavily devoted to it, and I hope,
-
I hope somewhere along the way. My greatest wish I
-
have with this coaching these girls is that I you know,
-
seeds are planted in years down the road. This leads
-
them to a faith in Christ, you know, ending every
-
game and a prayer you know, on the picture's mouth
-
at the end of the game is another thing we do.
-
And they all quote the Lord's Prayer. So you know,
-
we get pictures catches in there and one of them
-
is quotes the Lord's Prayer.
-
Sometimes I'll lead it and I'm like, look, I'm y'all,
-
We're not gonna quote Word's paier this time. I'm gonna
-
talk to Jesus from the heart for a minute and
-
I'll just I'll come up with something. I'll say it
-
with everybody there. But little things like that, man, spread
-
your faith every chance you get.
-
Well, absolutely spread your spread your faith every chance you get.
-
And you know, I just have to say this, I
-
seriously hope that your coach is Jersey has eighteen seventy on.
-
I wish it did.
-
No, it's it's wrecked, so it has every The rec
-
Department gives me just as coach, so that would be
-
awesome if it did. We actually were going we were
-
going to be the Killer Bees this summer if we
-
had been able to make that team. We just ended springball.
-
God we two still maybe now, I think two weeks
-
ago and we didn't make All Stars, and so we
-
were going to try to build a B team to
-
go along with the All Stars. And I'll thinking of
-
a name. I didn't think bout eighteen seventy, but I
-
was there thinking of a name, and uh, the name
-
I came up with was like, we're gonna be the
-
kept saying we're the B team. You All Stars a team,
-
We're the B team, and uh, just talking to nobody
-
of mine of work, he's a big Georgia Tech fan.
-
And there, of course their logos yellow jackets. I'm not
-
a Georgia Tech fan, but uh, there the logos yellow jackets.
-
I'm like, oh, man, killer Bees. You know we were
-
the B team. That's an awesome name for your softball team.
-
But didn't work out. We were Uh we didn't get
-
a pitcher and a catcher. So my daughter can do
-
either one of the positions, but she's definitely not a
-
starter at pitching and we didn't have one, so yeah,
-
uh we had to uh squash that idea. That didn't happen.
-
We're still gonna be practicing, but no B team. And
-
now you say the eighteen seventy, that's a good idea.
-
I got fagir a way to corporate that one at
-
some point.
-
Cool thing is, I don't have a number. I mean
-
you gotta have a number on Jersey.
-
Oh, I don't know the coaches with the wreck. See
-
it's a wreck thing. So my daughter has a number.
-
I don't have a number.
-
D I'd have to I'd have to. I see.
-
Now you've got to think of that. There's the way
-
I gotta do this now. I use my YouTube channel
-
to coach my team, which obviously the players watch the
-
YouTube channel.
-
I can tell because thing with YouTube, I can look
-
at the algorithm. I can tell where people jump into
-
the video and watch.
-
So I can tell you which people from the other
-
teams watch my videos because they want to see their
-
at bats too, you know which. All these girls out
-
here will know I have a channel, you know, so
-
we'll play the other teams and they all know my channel,
-
so they'll go pull up the game and watch themselves.
-
That I tell who's doing it because I can see
-
they click to their bets. But yeah, so I coach
-
my team through the eighteen seventy all road channel that
-
I have. But yeah, now there's a team. See, now
-
you've got to go on. I will, I'll, I will
-
figure out a way.
-
I'll said. Now, obviously, with Wreck, I have to do
-
what the WRECT Department is.
-
So we're gonna be the Pirates, and I'll say that
-
they just changed out this year. We're still the Pirates.
-
But We've been the Pirates whole time I've been there,
-
because that's our local county, is the Pirates. But uh see,
-
I have to do whatever they have. But if we
-
ever get outside of Wreck and go into travel teams
-
or something like that, and then yeah, there'll be an
-
eighteen seventy in or some kind of way.
-
So you know, it's pretty obvious that we need to
-
need to talk about this. So so within the past year,
-
you get internet and you open up this other channel.
-
So just tell me all the channels that you have.
-
Well, put simply, the channel I opened had already existed.
-
I just never used it.
-
Way back in twenty sixteen or so at my old house,
-
they ran in andet out there the last two years
-
I lived there, So maybe it was twenty seventeen, but
-
oh well, I'll give you a little bit backstory on
-
behind this channel too. But I opened up the channel
-
back then called eighteen seventy Garage, and of course eighteen
-
seventy thing was there, but at the time it was
-
more of afillment of me and my best friends growing up.
-
We grew up.
-
We were pearheads before I found christ too, but we
-
were gearheads growing up.
-
You know. I had a old Camaro. He had old
-
bar Bird. You know, we built cars. God.
-
I had old Transam. I had a old C ten truck.
-
I had a Cutlass. I had all these really cool
-
classic muscle cars. I also had my low rider truck.
-
I had made Toyota.
-
I want a bunch of car shows that had trophies.
-
Put you down there, do the stairs right down there.
-
But I chopped that thing up, had it laying on
-
the ground. There's actually a very short clip of it
-
on YouTube, because I have like four or five pictures
-
of that truck.
-
It's all I have because I had that thing it
-
over twenty years. But we were always building cars, you know,
-
we're always into it. God, a lot of guys you
-
might not even know this. I don't talk about much.
-
Before my current job, I worked for Nopie, and Nopie
-
was big in the nineties and two thousands. We actually
-
a very small part in building cars for the Fast
-
and Furious movies, the second one, not the first one,
-
the second movie, and they were all background cars. There's
-
a scene in Teja's garage where there's two cars for
-
sure on a lift that we built a Nopie.
-
And then there was two cars I think they were
-
there in the parking lot and not even certain. They
-
changed the car so much for the movie. And so
-
this is all the way. Back then, I was always
-
in the cars. I worked on cars when I at
-
that age, and me and my best friend were always
-
talking about, Man, we're gonna do this like.
-
Then do on TV shows and Saturday. We're gonna build cars.
-
We're gonna go to cars shows. We're gonna show them off.
-
You know.
-
Of course I talked about earlier if life changes, I
-
got married, I had kids, you know, life goes along.
-
We basically got divorced many years later, but uh, you know,
-
me and my buddy always kind of stayed in touch.
-
But now, of course I'm single father trying to raise kids,
-
and it's like, man, look I can't be off building cars.
-
I gotta raise kids. And this is hard by myself,
-
you know. I mean they still their mother over me, row.
-
She's still evolved, but it's when they're with me, I
-
am by myself trying to do this stuff, you know,
-
trying to be a mother and a father at the
-
same time. And so I just wasn't in the ability
-
at that time to mess with cars, you know. That
-
was that's a luxury, and I had to focus on
-
things that mattered.
-
And but we had me and him.
-
I always talked about, hey, we're can get back into this,
-
and so that's where I started the eighteen seventy garage
-
YouTube channel.
-
Was I was like, this is very early on.
-
I was building a shop in my house to start
-
building cars, and I had already gotten some foolers that
-
have worked on that weren't running. I had did a
-
little work on them till I got get them all
-
cleaned up, and I was like, we're gonna start feeling
-
this stuff. Of Course I didn't have I had broke
-
my phone right after I started the channel, so I
-
couldn't feel anything, so I ended up going back. I
-
had an iPhone and I broke it, so I didn't
-
have an iPhone three years to do this stuff.
-
But even though I had, the channel started. So then,
-
of course, the tragic side of this, my best friend
-
killed himself.
-
So that kind of derailed a whole lot of stuff
-
in my life when I happened.
-
That was a hard couple of years. So things go on.
-
I move out here to where I'm at now, and
-
I'm like, it changed, because obviously I don't hear it.
-
One do I have a grudge. But the reason why
-
I moved.
-
One of the reason why I moved was I don't
-
want this littberitty house, which I acsolutely loved. God, I
-
wish you could buy houses that small. I hate big houses.
-
But I'm in this little.
-
Bitty house and that was perfect because I'm like, it's
-
just you're right in my space. Had a little grudge,
-
but it had a little bitpiece of slam go with it.
-
And even though I lived in a town in the
-
size of Maybury, I lived in the town and I
-
had less than a quarter of an acre, and I'm
-
trying to have two fourielers and old cars to build up,
-
and I'm like, yeah, this is not gonna work. I
-
can't live like this and have my neighbors who all
-
have their houses looking around.
-
I can't park cars in front of my house. I
-
don't want to be I don't.
-
Want to be that neighbor, you know. So I was like, yeah,
-
I got to figure out on the layside. I moved
-
out here to get some land, but uh, I brought
-
eighteen seventy garage out here with me and like, I'm
-
going to do this thing and I'm gonna make this
-
work some kind of way. But uh, it morphed into
-
eighteen seventy off road because I bought a jeep.
-
Because at the time I.
-
Was trying to get I was trying to get completely
-
off not off the grid completely, but off the grid
-
living man. I had goats out here. I had a
-
massive farm going out here. I had my tractor, but
-
still got the tractor. I had trails cut all the
-
way around the proper line.
-
I had goats out here I was raising and I
-
was trying to sell them off. And uh, you know
-
that goes back to me. I thought I had my
-
life figured out in time. I'm like yeah, I'm doing this.
-
I'm gonna be self sustained.
-
I found this property because it has fresh water going
-
to it that has never been touched by road or
-
a city, and I'm like, that is hard to find,
-
especially in the South, you know. So it starts from
-
a spring about five miles off the road, and it
-
starts this big old creek down here eventually feeds in
-
their Flint River. And I found this property here. It
-
came up for sale and all these people are selling
-
this house.
-
And I'm like, yeah, I remember talking to.
-
Our agent was mol I'm like, these people don't know
-
how I think. I do not think like the average
-
person buying a house. I'm looking at this property. I
-
didn't care about the house. I wanted the property because
-
I'm like, man, I can live the way I want
-
to live out here. But uh, that's where things did
-
not go like I thought they were going to, and
-
all that kind of fell apart. But I ended up
-
getting a jeep and kind of I just realized that
-
since I can't do what I want to do here
-
and I'm never my Lord, I'm never going to afford.
-
Land to live the way I want to live. It
-
takes so many acres of land to be self sustaining,
-
to have your water, to have your cattle. I'd never
-
even got point of.
-
Getting cows because the goats was where it stopped. But
-
trying to get all this stuff, you know, is like
-
it takes so much land. I'll never be able to ford.
-
And we want to buy the land to to pay
-
taxes on the land, because you know, you shall not
-
live on the King's land without paning King's tax, just
-
like I shall not drive down the King's road up
-
pan and king sax. So I'll never afford pay taxes
-
on land. And so I was just I realized that
-
point mathematically, I'm not going to get to that dream
-
that I thought I was going to get to living here,
-
and all the land around me got sold. They were
-
kind of waiting on me, and then when COVID happened,
-
they changed their mind, so I didn't want to wait
-
on me no more. We didn't have a contract, so
-
they were completely in the right to do that and
-
not I don't want to. They sure to want to
-
bat now when they were here, but uh, you know,
-
we just we had talked, We had an understanding of
-
I had plans of buying the slam within a few years.
-
They had plans of selling it, but they weren't in
-
a hurry, and they had always said, hey, the right
-
offer came along, they would sell it. And I was like, hey,
-
that's good, I'll take that risk, you know. But at
-
the same time, I want to try to bottle land
-
as much as I possibly could. And uh, when COVID happened,
-
they panicked and they sold this land way less. So yeah,
-
I was hoping to have about minimum twenty seven acres
-
if i'd.
-
Gotten over there, to be thirty five, i'd gotten out over.
-
There too, and that just that all fell apart and
-
it's all got houses on the now. So I'm like, well,
-
that's all gone. I lost out ass of the creek.
-
It's still nice out here, and we're wrong. I still
-
love it. I still think it was in the you know.
-
I still feel like I followed the path to get here.
-
I just didn't understand what doubt I was going to be,
-
you know.
-
So I felt like when I came out here, this
-
is the first place out of town. I was like,
-
I felt called, I'm like, I think I need to
-
be here. And I had thought it was to do
-
all the stuff I was thinking I was gonna do
-
and that ain't what it was. But I got out here.
-
Next thing, I know, after being here a little while,
-
we talked about the running internet out here. I had
-
started riding the jeep and I had got out there,
-
and I was like, I just remember going back to
-
all these Bible studies we did, and I'm like, you know,
-
picturing scripture. You know, I picture David being in the wilderness,
-
and I pictured David in the woods in Georgia. I
-
didn't know what the wilderness is drill was desert until
-
I saw a picture of Israel. I was like, huh,
-
that's not what the wilderness looks like where I'm from.
-
Because I remember it, I was thinking, David can't hack.
-
In the wilderness for a couple of days running from
-
Sault somef of that.
-
You know, I didn't know what the wilderness was there.
-
It's not like the wilderness we have around here. And
-
so when I got the jeep, I'm like, man, I
-
wanted to go start exploring God's creation. And that's the
-
first thing I thought, like, I had never, you know,
-
I had never I thought about this this morning until
-
Labor Day two years ago.
-
It's one of my YouTube videos.
-
I had never seen mountains before outside of these fifteen
-
hundred foot mountains here.
-
In Georgia and middle of Georgia I live at. I
-
had been to the North Georgia Mountains twice and it
-
had rained both time I was up there.
-
I never saw the mountains. We were just passing through
-
an intersect going to Tennessee. I'd want a five seventy five.
-
So I never saw the mountains in Tennessee or Georgia.
-
And I remember that. I'm like that, I've never seen
-
God's creation. I have no visual reference of how God
-
made this earth. I just look at Google Earth all
-
the time. Man, I studied Google Earth, and I see
-
God's creation, you know. I see Noah's flood. I see
-
you know, the Earth being split and cracked open. I mean,
-
the stars are still there, you know, everybody. I've seen
-
pictures of the Grand Cana. Haven't been a Grand Canyon yet,
-
but I've seen pictures of Grand Canyon, all these layers
-
of dirt. And the people who are God haters, you know,
-
they're like, oh, this is a layer from however, many
-
hundreds of millions of years ago, or this is a
-
layer from a hundred millions years.
-
Later, and I'm looking around. I'm like, that's good in
-
that one little area. But you know, if you see
-
them my.
-
Book of the whole thing, it looks as though this
-
whole area is underwater. And at some point the flood
-
receded and the water pulled up. At a lot of places,
-
you know, water pulls up, it sole evaporates, it creates salt,
-
and now you got salt flats ever out there. And
-
when water pulls them up, and eventually the dam releases
-
and the rushes out, it rips massive sections of the
-
earth out and creates canyons and they're created overnight.
-
I'm like, I can see this stuff, and I'm like,
-
these people don't read scripture when they develop their world views.
-
You know.
-
It's definitely not scripture based. And part of me with
-
this jeep was, man, I want to go see this place,
-
and I want to film it, and I want to
-
show it. There's a trail called Top of the World
-
in Moe ab Utah.
-
I've seen it on video and I've never laid my
-
eyes on it, and I hope to one day be
-
able to get out and climb to the top of
-
this trail. I don't know if I jeep can do it,
-
but we'll find out. But I want to be to
-
climb to the.
-
Top of this thing and fly my drone up there
-
and film it and just share God's creation because I'm
-
to me, I look at this stuff and I'm like, man,
-
you can see creation, you know. So along the way,
-
using an off road thing, I'm filming a cool forty
-
minute video.
-
But along the way as.
-
I'm doing it, I'm like, you can tell, Like, you know,
-
I am seeing this stuff for the first time myself,
-
and I'm like, guys, this is creation. This is amazing,
-
you know. I'm like, every time I go see some overlook,
-
it brings me back to Scripture some kind of way.
-
The last time I remember was that I took a
-
trip in April and I filmed it. We're in this
-
place called the Huddle World and I spent three days
-
up there and uh, just me and my dog, you know,
-
living off road for several days, off the grid.
-
It was great.
-
And the last day I'm there, maybe the second day,
-
I pulled this overlook and I've seen this overlook before.
-
This is the second time I've seen it.
-
And you can just see from your right on the
-
Georgia Tennessee line. You can see like half of North
-
Georgia from this overlook.
-
It see, it seems like and I'm like, I remember
-
looking at I'm thinking, if you I didn't think I
-
said this to my camera, you would feel like grasshoppers
-
in the sight of giant. You know, when you're sitting there,
-
I'm like, I'm like grasshoppers this, I'm so you I'm
-
so small. I'm such a small little piece of this world.
-
You know, you don't realize it because when you're here
-
in your long little county where everybody knows you, like,
-
I'm a big shot, you know, I'm a big fishing
-
little pond. But I get up there, I'm like, man,
-
I'm a grasshopper on the side of giants.
-
You know.
-
I remember I said that to the camera, you know.
-
So it's always the little script verses out. Even started
-
talking about the days the mountains reform, and the would
-
quote it, and I said, I'm trying to in my head,
-
I'm doing a math on camera.
-
The mountains formed on a third day, they formed the
-
fourth day. I'm going backwards in my head, We'll see
-
make man on the sixth day. You know, I think
-
it's the third day.
-
But then I look at the camera. I said, you know,
-
I'm gonna try to figure this out right now. I
-
encourage you go look it up and read it for yourself.
-
Go to the very first page of the book. It
-
will give you all the answers you're looking for. So,
-
you know, little things like that, I drop them off.
-
Road videos because, like I say, everything I'm doing is
-
from a fate standpoint.
-
It is from I'm a believer in Lord Jesus Christ, and.
-
I'm a believer in as resurrection, and I'm a believer
-
that because he died for the sends of all of
-
all mankind, and he defeated death, and he rose again,
-
and he promised that Hey, not only did I raise again,
-
You're gonna rise again. And you know the whole deal
-
where you can't go to heaven with sin on you. Yeah,
-
I'm gonna forget your set and you're gonna get guilt
-
here with me. I'm like, man, sign me up, brother,
-
I'm in. You know, that's the right I want to
-
be on. So that's my viewpoint of everything I do.
-
And I noticed when I'm watching everybody, I see other
-
people with YouTube channels they do. You're not getting that
-
for anybody else. Now, they may be believers and not
-
want to discredit them. They're just they may be choosing
-
to be believers a.
-
Little more privately, you know.
-
But when I'm doing mine, I'm like, yeah, I'm I'm
-
a believer, and I don't mind saying it, you know,
-
now I'm not. I don't make my entire forty minute
-
video about me being a believer because that's not the
-
audience I'm reaching. The audience I'm looking for is just
-
the average person who loves the stuff and somewhere along
-
the way, Hey, by the way, you know God made
-
all this, right, But anyways, back to look at these
-
amazing mountains that God made. You know, that's kind of
-
how I do what I do on there, and it
-
is to fill a void. When I became a Christian,
-
I couldn't find what I'm what I'm trying to be now.
-
When I became one, I didn't find just the average
-
person who lived out their life and you know, you.
-
Didn't like I would go back.
-
I think I've said this before, but the Amish was Christians,
-
and then there was everybody else you know that was
-
I didn't have that person in the middle.
-
And I was like, how was it. I couldn't just find.
-
A person who is just a normal, everyday person that
-
is my neighbor next to me, but yet they're a Christian.
-
They believe in God. Yeah they live in this world.
-
Yeah they're not permanently in this world. They're so Joenners,
-
just like everybody else. We're all, you know, this is
-
our exodus, everybody, we're all on our exous journey together
-
the Promised Land. But they're still here and they still
-
go to work every day. You know, they still live,
-
They're still my neighbor. I didn't find that person when
-
I became a Christian. My entire network around me was
-
people who were not at least not people who's to
-
show a lot of people believe in God, but they
-
didn't know, they didn't know God. And I just said,
-
I'm like, you know, I want to be that person
-
who can somewhere along the way there will be that
-
maybe the only one person. You know, I keep having
-
them a head. Maybe I'll reach one hundred people. Maybe
-
there's only one person that I got to reach at
-
some point, but somewhere along the way, I'm gonna bridge
-
that gap for somebody to say, hey, you know, God's real,
-
Maybe that person who's questioning something somewhere along the way,
-
and they just I'm the right person.
-
There at the right time.
-
And I've had a lot of good conversations sometimes with
-
brothers that I get out there and get things and
-
they don't. They don't really talk about the faith. They're
-
not really out there about it. But it's like, Man,
-
I'm out there with my you know I do. There's
-
you know, stuff on my jeep to get you to
-
ask me about my faith. You know, there's the channel
-
name in eighteen seventy to get people to ask me, Man,
-
where'd that come from? Oh there's a story behind that,
-
you know. People look at my jeep, Man, what's that
-
writing on the hood your jep?
-
That's not English?
-
Like, Oh, there's a story behind that, you know. And
-
it opens up the story. It allows me a the
-
avenue to spread the gospel. And then to just back
-
to my lessons. I learned after our BTR days to
-
throw a little bit out there and see if.
-
They take a bike. You know, you don't you can't
-
go to catch fish, you know, you got to get
-
them to bike the lore. Then I always bike the Lord.
-
So noiw I, you just go to fish a really
-
into fifty and bike right without fifteen bike and move
-
on the next fish, you know.
-
But uh, it's kind of some tactfulness I've learned to
-
have over the years by interacting with people physically from
-
church that I've learned how to hold this craft.
-
A little bit.
-
And so that's kind of what I'm doing with this
-
and also encouraging other people to do it.
-
You know. When I became at.
-
Work, I used to set my Bible on my toolbox.
-
And it's fifteen years ago when I started doing this,
-
and that sparked so many people to talk about their
-
faithful work because I would just set my Bible on
-
there and we'd go to break I picked my ble
-
up taking breakroom.
-
I mean I read it, you know, got done. Break
-
time's over, go ouack to work my Bible on a toolbox.
-
I go to work my Bible just there in my toolbox.
-
That started so many conversations with people that, you know,
-
strengthen brothers who are like man I would never thought
-
I could even you know they are. They think like
-
they have to keep this in a closet, you know,
-
because the world has conditioned us that our faith only
-
matter is on Sunday between eleven and twelve, and that's
-
when we're Christians, and for the rest of the week
-
we're not Christians no more. And I'm like, no, we're
-
Christians all the way long. When you're going to the
-
gas station, of you're Christian. When you're out buying groceries,
-
you're a Christian. You know, when you're going off for
-
your family just having a good time.
-
You're a Christian.
-
So it's be a Christian and everything you do, not
-
just Sunday from eleven to twelve. So when I'm at work,
-
I'm a Christian. You know, I'm also there to work,
-
so I'm working.
-
I want to mix that one up there.
-
When I'm at work, I'm paid to be working. But
-
while i am working and earning my pay, I'm a Christian.
-
So I'm also being a person of faith and I'm
-
trying to show my faith but also still work and
-
everything I'm doing.
-
Well, this exemplifies your name anyway.
-
I mean this.
-
I like how you put it, and you succinctly laid
-
this out that you have become what you were looking for,
-
and that took a whole lot of qualifications and knowledge
-
was not enough because you certainly had acquired a font
-
of knowledge, but you were not able to connect with people.
-
And it's amazing to me that you had to do
-
the next step. Now you didn't know it, but that's
-
exactly what God had planned, and he stuck you in
-
front of a classroom. Boy, that must have really crashed
-
your party. You must have got up in front of
-
that classroom thinking, man, I know it all. I'm going
-
to teach this class everything they need to know, and
-
within four verses they glaze over and they're dear in
-
the headlights. So it is a wonderfully encouraging road. Or Derek,
-
as we might say, that God puts you in to
-
be the person that you needed. I mean, you've become
-
that person you were trying to find. So if you
-
were to go back in time right now and put
-
on a ball hat and talk to yourself back then
-
you would exactly be the person you needed. And that
-
is a truly amazing thing that He used all this
-
circumstance and place with you to get you where you
-
needed to be so that you could be that person
-
for people who need it. Because what you're talking about
-
is the mold today today, if you work at the
-
gas station, you have to work at the gas station.
-
You're not a Christian at the gas station. You're not
-
allowed to be a Christian at the gas station. But
-
you have bridged that gap and you've become that person
-
that all those people you meet meet, And that's pretty
-
amazing to me. But you know, you you started out
-
the conversation saying that you know, you knew all the
-
traditions of men, so to speak, as Jesus quoted, and
-
there's some great, big traditions of men, and if you
-
go to church on Sunday, you can talk about those traditions. However,
-
when you read the Bible, that's a completely different story.
-
That is a completely different story. Most of the things
-
that Christians talk about is completely fiction, just so disconnected
-
from the reality of the Bible. So why don't you
-
tell us that you've familiarize yourself with a text. You
-
might say that you absolutely have absorbed it into your personhood. Right,
-
So give us your take. What is to come? What's
-
your eschatology? What do you think the Bible is actually
-
saying is going to happen?
-
I would say, if I'll start off with this, I
-
believe that I live in the days.
-
I believe every generation things of living the end of
-
the days. So I'll say this with a granna and
-
I look around. I'm like, man, you guys, if you're
-
looking for a sign and you were allowed. This year,
-
we've had solar flares auroras in Georgia which I captured
-
both on YouTube, and pretty soon we're gonna have a
-
nova going off in the.
-
What's that constellation Corona Borealis.
-
There'll be a nova going off. They believe this summer
-
they should be able to see it. And I'm like,
-
if you're looking for signs, look up, they are happening.
-
I have never in my life, well, I had seen
-
a blood moon once. I think in the past five years,
-
i've seen this five times.
-
Now, I've seen it once. My entire left up at
-
this point.
-
Never seen their roar before, never seen a solar eclipse before,
-
seen two of them in the past couple of years.
-
I'm like, you know, that's the one thing. I truly
-
believe we're living in the days. I always preface I
-
was saying, though, I do believe when I read what
-
Christ said about the end of the days, it seems
-
like he's telling every generation to think you live in
-
the days, because he wants you to be prepaired, you know.
-
So I do want to be paired, But I truly
-
believe that we're in the end of the days. But
-
what I think is coming, what I think is going
-
to happen, is exactly what Scripture said. It's going to
-
be the same thing that's already happened before. Because there
-
is nothing new under the sun. Same patterns are happening
-
over and over again. Details may be changed from revolution
-
to revolution, but you know, this earth keeps spinning in
-
a circle, and yeah, every time it goes in a circle.
-
It's to do day.
-
You know, the stars are all still in the same place,
-
the Sun's in the same place. It looks pretty much
-
like you did day before. As the Earth goes around
-
the Sun all the way around complete this year. Yeah,
-
we've changed our positions. And this planets over here.
-
Now, this planets over here, and this star is over here.
-
Now it's over here. But you know, it's still kind
-
of the same pattern.
-
So I'll look at script and I will say, what
-
is coming is a pattern repetitious of what has already been.
-
And if you would, all you gotta do is read
-
this book. It's the same things coming. I've got stuff
-
I study that may.
-
Be completely wrong.
-
I mean, I'm trying to think of I'll just try
-
to look at my list on my iPad.
-
I've studies. I've done. Some of these I've never finished.
-
I've got one called the ten Kings.
-
If they're out today, and I'm trying to figure out
-
in my head, who would the ten Kings be?
-
Like?
-
Guy, I got about five or six. I think it
-
could possibly be. You know, I got another one we
-
talked about earlier Bible mistakes or in parentheses things not
-
in the Bible, where I start taking all these little
-
verses that I think the Bible I've always heard the
-
Bible said.
-
I write it down. I said, we'll come back to
-
study this later, see what it says. Now, a lot
-
of these things I study.
-
And I just opened little threads that I just don't
-
get time to finish because commasoned earlier.
-
I got to work.
-
I'm coaching a team, I'm still doing the eighteen seventy
-
off road stuff. So there's a lot of me and
-
little things get pulled in all these different directions to do.
-
So a lot of times I never finished the study.
-
So sometimes it's maybe two three months later. When I
-
sat out in Ga Hunt in April, I spent a
-
ton of time reading scripture. My plan was on this
-
day of the irony, that means you started talking. Now
-
on this day, I did this entire thing called a
-
big Frog loop. In a day, I had downloaded the
-
Marinatha ministries on the podcast to start listening to them.
-
I think I got through one and a half.
-
I've brand into so many people that wanted to talk
-
to me in the wilderness that I've never met before.
-
And I ended up not hard to listen to it
-
because I'd stop and talk people, you know, and I
-
just I'd meet people all the time. They oh my god,
-
I've seen your YouTube videos. You know, they pull off
-
and talk to them whatever. They recognize my GEP or
-
something out there and you know, riding these trails and stuff.
-
So you know, I had plans of doing that. That
-
was kind of my idea, but hey, I ended up
-
minishing people instead.
-
That's that's wrong with that. SEX say.
-
Sometimes I think I know what God's plan is, and
-
God's like, nah, you got something different doing the day.
-
So I'm always fluid and ready to be.
-
When the time comes, I'm not out chasing normal try
-
to already have morel with me, you know.
-
So I'm trying to say.
-
All right, when I'm going out to the world, I
-
am prepared to do what I think I'm gonna do,
-
but I'm also prepared for the Holy Spirit to say, yeah,
-
you're doing something different. Is to this day is not
-
going to go the way you thought it was ended
-
up doing something completely different. So I had planned to'll
-
do so much study. I wanted to catch up with
-
stuff because I hadn't listened to the podcasts from you
-
probably in a year or so.
-
I was like, man, I gotta catch up with Matthew's doing.
-
And uh, I remember one I think was you and
-
your daughter talking about love, and that's the one I
-
didn't get to finish. I was like, that's kind of
-
getting into that one, like this is really good, you know,
-
and it's just I didn't get to finish that one.
-
That's the one where I the first people to stop
-
me in a Forerunner started talking to them, and then
-
it was another group of guys that I actually called
-
them a video and I stopping with them. So I'd
-
kept bumping into people I was like, well, this this,
-
this thing will happen. I guess I'm doing something different today.
-
But yeah, so I'm always prepared with scripture. But the
-
thing is, this goes back to what you're saying, what's coming.
-
It may not go down exactly like I think it's
-
going to, but I know the pattern will be true.
-
The the format has been set, you know, the foundation
-
has been true. Maybe I've got the details wrong my
-
Ken King's list, every one.
-
Of them might be. I might have the wrong ten guys,
-
but you know, it's just me.
-
It's just me playing around thinking maybe I can figure
-
out how some of these guys are. I want to
-
study and see, you know.
-
You know and exactly. You know, it's amazing that. Wow.
-
Once people pick up their Bible and actually start reading it,
-
a lot of times they become disassociated from their church
-
family because they quickly realize that, wait a minute, whatever's
-
going on in the Bible, that's not what's happening at
-
Sunday School, that's not what happening at church, and everything
-
they're saying at church, that's not what the Bible actually says.
-
Especially when they get to the read letters in the Bible.
-
You start reading those you like way, something's terribly wrong.
-
You know, the life and situation is so far left
-
and right of center where God put it. It's really
-
kind of disturbing. And you know, it's encouraging that God's
-
putting you where only he can put you. And that's
-
that's a good thing. And I appreciate that you heard
-
Mariah and I's episode. They're the fundamentals love. You know,
-
that was her idea, that was her baby. It's still
-
her baby. Now. She's doing full time ministry up at
-
Lakewood Park Bible Camp, so that's what she has to
-
do the whole summer. That's what she wants to do
-
with her career. She is going to be in ministry.
-
So you know, that's it's amazing to me that the
-
Lord pricked me and said, man, you need to check
-
upon Derek and see where he's at. And very encouraging
-
to see that you're still doing what you do. And
-
how many people do you know are like that? How
-
many people do you know that after this much time,
-
still are doing what it is God wants them to do.
-
And that's very encouraging to me. That's extremely encouraging. And
-
you know, you say, you know you're pretty sure we're
-
right there at the end, and a lot of people
-
don't think that. Well, let's just put two and two together.
-
Let's see where we can go with this. And you know,
-
I'm not going to cover the chapter and verse, but
-
I'm just going to just going to read this and
-
I'm sure everybody's heard this verse before. Seventy weeks have
-
been decreed for your people in your holy city to
-
finish the transgression, to making a desin, to make it
-
a coment for iniquity, to bring an everlasting righteousness, to
-
steal a vision prophecy, and to anoint the most holy place.
-
Now that's as succinct as you can get it. That's
-
the gospel truth. That's what he said, right, I mean,
-
that's the gospel truth when you realize that when you
-
take a look at you know, your people in your
-
holy city. Everybody knows what the Christian's capital is, and
-
it ain't Rome. It's not Rome. Everybody knows that the
-
Christian capital is where our Savior was crucified. It's where
-
our Savior resurrected. We have no other capital. That's it Jerusalem.
-
So you know, let me put this pastory. I'm going
-
to tell you what I was just doing today, just
-
for fun. Okay, the Bible's very clear that there is
-
a time of the Gentiles. Now, lots of people thinks
-
it's this and that and the other. However, this is
-
the truth. The Temple Mount was liberated on June seventh,
-
nineteen sixty seven. Now the problem is is that the
-
Jews didn't keep it. They handed it over voluntarily to
-
the Gentiles. They voluntarily they handed it over to the
-
King of Jordan. They did this voluntarily, thereby instituting the
-
time of the Gentiles. So when is seventy years from
-
that day? Well, you would think it would be June seventh,
-
twenty thirty seven. That's what you would think. But then
-
you look into the heavens and you realize that what
-
happened on that day was the new moon. Back in
-
June seventh, nineteen sixty seven, there was a new moon
-
right between Chorus's horns. If you go to twenty thirty seven,
-
that winds up being six days later, on June thirteenth,
-
twenty thirty seven. Now, I'm just being very light here.
-
When you back off there seven years, you all better
-
figure this out. That's twenty thirty and this is a
-
historical fact. We know from the astronomical data that Jesus
-
had you have been crucified on one of two dates.
-
It was either pass over in thirty a d or
-
pass over in thirty three AD. And we know that
-
jose It comes right out and says that after two
-
days we will be redeemed. So when you throw that
-
information at people, it makes them stop when their tracks thray.
-
Wait a minute, let me write that down. You can't
-
be right. I mean, you can't be right because you
-
just said that we're going to enter into great tribulation
-
in twenty thirty. Yeah, that's exactly what I said, But
-
I didn't say it's just the math. So that's just
-
lightly what I was doing this afternoon when my alarm
-
set to text you is I was in the middle
-
of bringing up stilarium. I didn't want to know the date.
-
I want to know where the faithful Witness was compared
-
to the sun on the day that the Jews liberated
-
at the Temple mount. So what a rabbit hole that was.
-
But God is going to use that. He's going to
-
use that information to people that come in contact me.
-
People send me messages and questions every single day about
-
celestial somology. Every day. I want to know what's happening here,
-
what does this mean? What's going on over here? And
-
it amazes me that you said, yeah, here, within the
-
past little while, you've seen the northern lights and that
-
ain't normal in Georgia. I should know. I lived in Georgia.
-
I attended an academy in Georgia. This is why I
-
graduated high school in two years. That's where I went.
-
I moved to Georgia to attend the academy so I
-
could graduate in two years instead of four. So I
-
know all about Georgia. And if you're saying you've seen
-
the northern lights there, we are obviously way outside of normal. Right.
-
Oh yeah, that is uh.
-
That day that happened, I knew it was coming because
-
I knew about and seeing me it happens, I knew
-
there was a possibility because as you say, I'm always man,
-
I study what the sun's doing. I try to study
-
as much as I can what stars are doing, because
-
that's those are God's stars.
-
He put them up there and they're there for.
-
Us, and so I keep an eye out, man. I
-
to this day, it's a habit people don't think it's weird.
-
I'll walk out of a door. My first place I look,
-
of course, I was outside of SIDEAE.
-
I'll walk in nothing, and I look up every time,
-
out of habit, your habit, because I know my redemption's coming.
-
Every time I've got look up. Not yet you got
-
a few more dunts so here on my walk, But
-
I'm always looking up.
-
And that day that had come, we had a doubleheader
-
softball game. And I remember, matter of fact, guys, you
-
could on my Facebook page.
-
My personal one, which I hardly use, but.
-
Other than coaching my softball team, I remember that morning
-
I had posted, hey guys, pretty big ceme coming.
-
This is rare. We don't get this. It's like you
-
might see some northern lights today. There's a chance of it.
-
And sure enough that night I'm out here in the field,
-
in my softball field behind my house, on the golf
-
cart with my camera out taking pictures and photo I mean, wow,
-
to have the sky glow in all those cars. I'd
-
never seen anything like that before my life. It didn't
-
move like I thought it was supposed to be. Cou
-
I've never seen it on TV. I guess what I
-
see on TV must be sped up for time laps.
-
But I look up that, I'm like, wow, you know,
-
but I already believe I've already got my heart set
-
in cryt.
-
That's not for me. So I hope if.
-
You were in Georgia that day, or however far you
-
saw the life, I hope y'all saw them, because that
-
that wasn't for me. God's already got my heart. But
-
some of you out there, maybe who are not sure
-
of the times you live in, you're kind of questioning
-
things look up because there are signs that keep coming.
-
Let's say I mentioned you know this other stuff that
-
could be coming. You know, with everybody who's talking about
-
the star Beetle Juice going super and over, everybody's expecting it,
-
and of course what happens anytime soon. It would have
-
went super over a couple hundred years ago. But that
-
ain't one I would talk about earlier. Do you want to
-
talk about earlier?
-
Is T? I remember? This? Is it? T c RB? Yeah?
-
TCRB, So it's t Corona boy allis I'm watching that
-
one and I'm like, if that I want to see
-
how it goes.
-
It may just be a.
-
Little popular of them and it goes away and it
-
wasn't really much assign people. But that's another one that
-
could be coming soon.
-
A new star.
-
Appear in the sky and then disappear a couple of
-
weeks later, that's a sign God's got letting. You know, guys,
-
this stuffs up. You know this is uh. I've never
-
known a time that you had this.
-
Much stuff popping up.
-
And I got it that Matthew hit me with something
-
with a new moon on nineteen sixty seven. I don't
-
believe I knew about that. But you know, when they
-
took the Timple mount in nineteen sixty seven, I don't
-
think I knew that was a new moon.
-
I'm trying to remember to date that happened. Was that
-
an odd.
-
So now I'm getting off from the side topic here,
-
But anyway, see now you got me want to look
-
into something. I love playing with Stilario man. I remember
-
when we were doing BTR days. I shared a picture
-
and I'm going to redo that into a YouTube video.
-
It's been on my mind to do it at some point.
-
But uh, I remember setting stelarium into the Temple Mounts,
-
backing the star date up to the time of the Crucifixion.
-
It don't matter which year you do it in because
-
stars are in the same place every year, and there's
-
a little bit of procession of the equinoxes where they
-
move around.
-
A little bit. But two thousand years ago there's a
-
little movement.
-
But if you go to then set your selarium back
-
to those years ago, you're right in the Temple mounts
-
in Jerusalem, right to the hour when Christ is on
-
the cross and the stars. I'm sorry, when the sun
-
the sky went dark for three hours and you look
-
straight up, there's a star that goes right over the cross.
-
And if I'm telling you, if that it was closer,
-
the cross would have pierced his eye. And uh.
-
The star is called ros al Ghul. I never will
-
remember this one. It is in Arabic.
-
It means the devil, and I just remembered as like,
-
the constellation is this the uh.
-
Says that Andrama that has the head of Percy's I
-
don't for gotten him. The constellation Consolation is is it
-
Persius or Andromeda who has the head in his hand?
-
Lordy, I'm forgetting your name. But anyways, that constellation goes
-
over the Temple mount goes right over the cross. That
-
cross would have pierce his right eye. And then I'm
-
thinking of two verses of.
-
Scripture number one where it talks about in zachar Raiah,
-
is it eleven that would pierce his right eye? And
-
then I also remember the other verse in Matthew chapter
-
five or six, where he says, you fool, you're worried
-
about the splinter and your brother's off when there's a
-
plank in your own off.
-
And I'm like, the stars are telling you scriptures. Guys.
-
You just pull a sterium and a look, the scriptures
-
are in the stars. You ain't got to have the Bible.
-
I've read it before in the Bible, but I knew
-
when I looked at the stars. I'm like, I know
-
what verses I told me about. So, yeah, God's word
-
is even in the stars. His creation is so powerful
-
that creation itself can pich the Gospel to.
-
You, so says Romans.
-
Yep, so says Romans cry out.
-
Yes absolutely, boy. We could talk about that for another hour,
-
couldn't we. So it's it's been good catching up with you, Derek,
-
and I hope you continue to become what it is
-
you needed back there when you got you know, that
-
around around that time you met me, when you were divorced,
-
you had two kids, trying to find your way, and
-
you had no fellowship there, and it really is pleasing
-
to hear that you've actually become that fellowship for those
-
people that you're meeting. And you know, I can only
-
say this. You're the coach. So you could probably have
-
whatever name you wanted or whatever number on your jersey
-
you wanted, and I'm telling you to go have eighteen
-
seventy embroidered on it. Okay, that's that's what your number
-
needs to be.
-
Man, So you've said it. Now, we'll forgot a way
-
to make that happen.
-
All right, Derek, it's been Uh, it's been good to u.
-
Good to catch up with you. Is there anything you'd
-
like everybody to know, maybe where they can catch your
-
videos at or whatever?
-
So yeah, if you want to find me, I use
-
Instagram and I use YouTube. Eighteen seventy off Road is
-
a name on both of them. Say the reason behind
-
the name, guys, it.
-
Is it is jeep centered. Everything I'm doing is in the.
-
Jeep and exploring God's creation, So it's not like obviously
-
the stuff we used to do. It is not the
-
same thing as that this is gonna be a whole
-
lot of me just out exploring in the woods in
-
the wilderness, and sometimes me working on the vehicle and
-
building the vehicle. Obviously, I think today my last video
-
was me doing a radio doing a mod. So you know,
-
it's not really again like I messon earlier. It's not
-
that the channel is centered to be about my faith.
-
Is that I am living up my life and faith
-
and I'm not ashamed to show up people. There's another
-
video coming or to film one part over. I'm actually
-
gonna show Bible at one point. It's gonna be funny.
-
It's actually in a joking level. Yeah.
-
So you can catch eighteen seventy off road. Instagram and YouTube.
-
That's the two things I use right now at least
-
that you can see me on and you can kind
-
of follow my walk there in a way and see
-
as it goes that. I guys, I have no idea
-
where this goes in the future. I know what I
-
think is going to happen, and.
-
I can tell you every time I think I figured
-
