  4. mercies which sent you to us. Oh, Christ the light of the

  5. world and the life of all give us wisdom by a law and Enlighten

  6. our impulses, by your knowledge sanctify, our souls by your

  7. truth and Grant that we may be obedient to your words and may

  8. fulfill your Commandments at every hour.

  9. O you who enlightens the rationale with the knowledge of

  10. your greatness? He's doin light O My Lord.

  11. Our thoughts that we made meditate upon your holy and

  12. divine scriptures at all times. Oh Lord of all Father and Son

  13. and Holy Spirit forever. Amen.

  14. Double-edged sword, a Christian podcast Ministry presented by

  15. father, jernard Lazar. Father, jernard is a parish

  16. priest of the mud edit Parish of the Assyrian Church of the East

  17. and Turlock. California.

  18. Here's father. Jernard a close friend of mine

  19. mentioned to me that he's quite amused when he he's the wood

  20. cliche. In regards to praying each time

  21. I mentioned on these episodes. Codes that we need to pray.

  22. One of the solutions of every circumstance and issue is

  23. praying, but he went on to say and asked me if I could present

  24. a program or an episode on the, the acts of praying, how do we

  25. pray? What do we do?

  26. What do we say? How do we start?

  27. Well, there are two forms of prayer.

  28. There are two acts of prayer, am I say it's the personal prayer,

  29. the private prayer as an individual.

  30. An So Christian and there is the prayer of the community of

  31. Believers or Christians, which is the church.

  32. Now the church has said liturgies, that is formulas

  33. order. A form for both of these acts of

  34. prayers, be it personal private or a community prayer?

  35. And the reason why is that? So, God is praised is

  36. approached, that God is besieged that God is Searched for, or

  37. seeked. If there is such a word, God is

  38. communicated with In Worship in, reverence, in honor in

  39. confession, that is found in order.

  40. We call in a Syrian Ariza You here in the court, when the the

  41. judge is pounding, his gavel Order in the Court Order in the

  42. Court and he warns that he will halt in contempt, those who

  43. don't hold or honor, the Order in the Court, in his courtroom.

  44. You know, most of the judges will quote this my courtroom and

  45. why? Because there is going to be a

  46. judgment passed on the case. That has been heard how much

  47. more there should be order in the, in the court house of the

  48. Lord, that is the church, or they should be order in our

  49. prayer. Life, in our walk with Jesus

  50. Christ, Saint Paul writes to the Corinthians which had a very

  51. chaotic gathering in the church in his first epistle to the

  52. Corinthians 14:33. He writes because God is not the

  53. author of tumult, that is as the dictionary defines.

  54. It allowed confused noise, especially one caused by a large

  55. mass of people, but our God is a god of peace mean.

  56. Meaning order Tranquility, as in all churches of the Saints.

  57. We see an order in the Praises and worship of the angels as we

  58. speak in heaven. In the Heavenly Realms.

  59. Isaiah saw this in a vision and rotated in chapter 6 verses 1 to

  60. 3 in the year that Asia the king died or Asia.

  61. The king died. I saw the Lord God sitting on a

  62. throne high and exalted, whose roof filled his Temple, and

  63. seraphim was standing. Our team around him above him.

  64. I'm sorry, six wings to each one of them.

  65. We sing this in the Liturgy of the Eucharist, the seraphim of

  66. fire and Spirit i'lli'll, come to church on an English service

  67. and you'll hear it in English. He writes and serve him was

  68. standing above him. Six wings to each of them with

  69. two covering his face. He's talking individually with

  70. the angels, and with to covering his feet and with two, they were

  71. flying and they were calling this one to another or this one

  72. to that one. See, when you enter the church

  73. during a service, you see that there are two we call.

  74. Gouda doesn't mean walls means to companies the left and the

  75. right the first, and the last and one company resides one.

  76. The sum and the other company, repeat replies, one sings and

  77. the other. Sing, this is all from the

  78. vision of Isaiah and they were saying, holy, holy, holy Lord.

  79. God, of hosts, for all of the Earth is filled with his

  80. Praises. See, one was saying to another,

  81. in an orderly manner, in a peaceful manner.

  82. Now, let me state that this does by no means discouraged.

  83. Our Individual private prayer in solitude.

  84. Or personal prayer between us and God, the father, and the

  85. Son. And the Holy Spirit, this

  86. doesn't discourage or do away with these individual present

  87. every time and every season and at every place some of the quick

  88. prayers would call the Jesus prayer.

  89. For example, Lord Jesus Son of God had mercy on me a sinner.

  90. That's that's theology theological this theology behind

  91. it but in inside Chapter 70 or some 70, verse 1.

  92. This is an amazing prayer. O God hastin to deliver me.

  93. Hurry up, hurry to deliver me. Lord O.

  94. Lord hastened to my help be quick, hurry to my help and my

  95. assistant specially, when we are down and we are in some

  96. difficult circumstances, but even during this procession, we

  97. can establish an order as I said during the procession our

  98. private And and individual Precision, we can establish an

  99. order and a great model is the morning, prayers model, the

  100. morning prayers that are prayed at church.

  101. And I'd like to recite and share with you the morning prayer of

  102. the Ascension that is going up ascending of Our Lord into

  103. heaven. And let me share this with you.

  104. It's amazing. It goes like this.

  105. You oh, glorious light from heaven and it Eight instructs.

  106. That we should repeat. Why?

  107. Because when you repeat something you're emphasizing,

  108. that's why Jesus repeats. Truly truly, I say to you or

  109. amen. I'm in that means.

  110. Yes. Yes.

  111. I say to you. That is that means it is not

  112. negotiable. It is what it is.

  113. So when we say you, oh, glorious, light from heaven, and

  114. we repeat that, it's not negotiable.

  115. It is the Splendor Brilliance of the exalted, godhead, and light

  116. of Incomprehensible Divinity, whom the thousands of thousands.

  117. Thousands of thousands Revelation 511 stand before him

  118. myriad's, that is a countless or extremely great.

  119. Number of mirrored, serve his honor heavily assemblies and 5u

  120. troops, praise and glorify their hidden and unspeakable nature of

  121. his godhead. Isaiah chapter 6, chapter 2

    Isaiah 6 chapter mention

  122. verses 1 to 8, each one has six sets of wings and they bear many

  123. eyes and sits and On the fiery Chariot.

  124. See there is an act in this prayer and this is how we begin

  125. our prayer. Beloved, these words are words

  126. of adoration admiration, adoring, God.

  127. So when you come to pray, pray like this.

  128. Begin to adore God. It's an Adoration of the

  129. reverence of the sovereignty of the Holiness of the Supreme and

  130. unspeakable power, and glory of God.

  131. Why must we begin with adoration?

  132. Why do the liturgical prayers all commence?

  133. Most of them commence with adoration adoring.

  134. God does God need the service service of his servants?

  135. Does he need our adoration when we adore God?

  136. God does his glory sovereignty, power increased, no.

  137. But when we do adore him, it is for our own growth and faith and

  138. certainty. When you totally adore someone

  139. you love someone. You respect, someone you admire

  140. someone that person is not in Greedy, increasing, but when you

  141. want to show the love, you will show that genuine love.

  142. And it's also an instruction from God, Deuteronomy 6:4.

    Deuteronomy 6:4

  143. Hear Israel or listen Harkin. Take heed Israel, the Lord God,

  144. our God Lord God is one love the Lord.

  145. God your God, from all your heart, and from all your soul.

  146. And from all your possessions admire and honor him.

  147. So start with a duration. Adoring God's holiness and

  148. righteousness not necessarily theologically and spiritually.

  149. Poetic words know, the simple words that the spirit will

  150. intercede and cause to come out of your mouth.

  151. Adore this Lord Jesus Christ. And once we have come to that

  152. adoration where we begin to feel that.

  153. Oh my, where am I entering? Whose presence am I in.

  154. Entering and in. What state am I entering in the

  155. fall and state in a miserable state?

  156. In a sinful state, which brings us to the next Session of our

  157. prayer or next part of the prayer, which is to confess

  158. confess our weakness before the adorned God that we have,

  159. admired confess our weakness, our sinfulness our

  160. unrighteousness because of our sins and transgressions.

  161. This comes after admission that we are in need of the mercies

  162. and Compassion of God admission. Admitting that we are sinners.

  163. It's contrary to denial. You see The Prodigal Son?

  164. The the scripture specifically says.

  165. And when he had come to himself come to his senses, he admitted

  166. he was alerted. And then and then knowing where

  167. he is, is because of his foolishness confessing that here

  168. I am dying here of hunger. Then he Hands up and returns.

  169. There's a repentance returns back to the father.

  170. We've been promised beloved that when we confess and confess,

  171. genuinely remorse lie. with tears, the Lord will hear and

  172. will forgive the first Epistle of John chapter 1 verses 9 to

    John 1:9–10

  173. 10. But if we confess our sins, he

  174. is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and he will

  175. Purge us from all our evil. And if we say that we have not

  176. sinned, look at what happens when we are in denial.

  177. We make him that is Christ a liar and his word is not within

  178. us. So right now, if you're thinking

  179. what me, and I'll be if you only could see who you're preaching.

  180. Two or presenting this message to me.

  181. The most Dreadful of the Dreadful that if I confess

  182. sincerely, yes. Will the Lord forgive me?

  183. Of course he will. Yes, he will.

  184. This is a promise, but after admiring, when you've admired

  185. God, you will have this confidence that the Lord is so

  186. gracious and he will forgive By confession beloved we Proclaim

  187. that in truth, all my Lord, we are not worthy as we sing in the

  188. Divine Liturgy of the Holy Eucharist by confession.

  189. We are we confess that we are not worthy to be counted as one

  190. of your children. As the protocol, boy stated or

  191. The Prodigal Son, but to be merely counted as servants.

  192. Who have no part in The Inheritance.

  193. When we confess that we are sinners and Fallen, we are not

  194. confessing that we are not worthy to eat of your table of

  195. mysteries, the holy order, Bona, but only to be allowed to

  196. receive the crumbs that fall of this table.

  197. We confess that we are not worthy to be entering into your

  198. presence Lord in prayer but accept us from afar as you did

  199. with the tax collector. As the Centurion said to Jesus

  200. my Lord, I'm not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but

  201. only say it in a word and my boy will be healed.

  202. However, Lord. However, with that confidence,

  203. that we have been given through your son, our Lord, Jesus Christ

  204. that when we ask it shall be given unto us with that

  205. confidence. We come to you Lord.

  206. One of the anti Fonz. Which is a him or M we say,

  207. which is chanted during the the offering of the Liturgy of

  208. absolution and this and fun is on the males.

  209. It states. The priest obviously chance

  210. along with the the deacons, the offenders and publicans you did

  211. not despise. Oh, Lord neither, did you cast

  212. them from before your face? Oh my Lord for you have said

  213. that the healthy are not in need of Physicians.

  214. But those who are severely Afflicted and we who have

  215. committed evil Deeds before you and are stricken with illness in

  216. our souls request of you to have mercy upon us.

  217. How beautiful is that? So confessing saying that we are

  218. not worthy Lord but yet yet we have confidence.

  219. And the next step is to give, thanks to the Lord, according to

  220. st. Paul's epistle to the

  221. Philippines 4:6, but always in prayer and supplication with

  222. Thanksgiving. Let your requests be known

  223. before. God give thanks to God in any

  224. circumstance. First Thessalonians, 5:18, give

  225. thanks in everything for this is the will of God in Jesus Christ.

  226. Among you give thanks in any circumstance beloved even in

  227. suffering. Yes, suffering, after all Jesus,

  228. our lord came to suffer, right? He didn't come to be glorified

  229. and to be served and to be hailed.

  230. King know, he would actually run away and accept Escape that

  231. vainglory in Luke 9:22. We read.

    Luke 9:22

  232. Jesus says, the son of man is going to suffer many times.

  233. He will be suffering. That's why I've come for

  234. suffering. Why for our behalf and on our

  235. behalf, Give thanks that. You have the Lord's ear.

  236. In Psalm 145 Verse 18. We read the Lord, God is near to

    Psalms 145:18

  237. those who call to him and truth. So when we're praying and when

  238. we are adoring, admiring and confessing remember the Lord is

  239. listening, this is what the scriptures are telling us.

  240. This is what God is telling us give thanks to God for his

  241. gracious gift of Prayer. As I said we enter into God's

  242. presence beloved. Give thanks for the invitation

  243. that God has extended to us to all the invitation, God has

  244. extended to everyone in prayer. Isaiah 1:18 and come says God we

    Isaiah 1:18

  245. shall speak listen to this beloved guys.

  246. Listen stop. Here we go.

  247. Stop your washing stop, you're vacuuming.

  248. If you want to pull over great, stop and listen.

  249. Listen to them Ponder on this. This is God Almighty, the

  250. creator of heavens and the Earth.

  251. There is no power above the power of God, praise bees name

  252. The Sovereign Almighty all supreme god.

  253. You know, when you mention these words, it's as though we are

  254. building an image of a god that is whoa.

  255. And do not come to me. No, but look at what God says

  256. this. Amazing powerful awesome.

  257. God says to the Puny man come and we shall speak with each

  258. other. So if you think that God will

  259. not listen to you, there's your invitation.

  260. There it is. Come, we shall speak with each

  261. other. Not are you and punch on and go

  262. locking horns with one another? No, we shall speak communicate

  263. with each. Other says, the Lord God.

  264. And if your sins will be as Scarlet, they will be as white

  265. as snow. And if they turn red as Scala

  266. die. They shall be as wool.

  267. Thank the Lord for this invitation that we sometimes.

  268. Don't want to RSVP for it. We throw the invitation, you

  269. know, a key where we keep this invitation under the pillow so

  270. that we can sleep and be protected.

  271. Yes, that is the holy scriptures or on the shelf, on the

  272. bookcase. There is an invitation.

  273. Thank God and thank God for nothing.

  274. Sometimes we must stop and say, Lord, thanks for nothing.

  275. Praise your name. Amen.

  276. In the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit and

  277. forever. Amen.

  278. So we admire God. We confess our foolishness.

  279. We offer Thanksgiving to him and lastly, we supplicate.

  280. When I was quoting Philippians 4:6, some of you must have

    Philippians 4:6

  281. thought Robbie forgot the first part of the prayer.

  282. Well I didn't I don't stand corrected.

  283. Here it is. But always in prayer and

  284. supplication. And with Thanksgiving, let your

  285. request be known before. God supplicate beg, the Divine,

  286. holy nature of God, forgiveness begging.

  287. When we do this, we offer that true worship to God.

  288. All those who came to Jesus Christ, fell on their knees and

  289. worshipped and were begging, why it confirmed confirms the

  290. Divinity, the sovereignty of God for you.

  291. And I not that because I confirm God's sovereignty, he suffer

  292. know for myself so that I may They know and appreciate and

  293. praise God, for what I am about to receive.

  294. Supplicate forgiveness that, which was wrought on the cross.

  295. By Jesus Christ, on our behalf in our human nature.

  296. Beloved, in a Jesus himself in, Luke 22:44 in the Garden of

    Luke 22:44

  297. Gethsemane, we read that. He prayed earnestly in fear, or

  298. in anguish to the point that his sweat was like drops of blood

  299. and it fell on the ground earnestly.

  300. Supplicating not that. He needed to pray and that he

  301. needed to supplicate but on our behalf, you see what?

  302. Stood for you and I beloved you see what he did but sometimes we

  303. are so you know, sluggards and and so complacent.

  304. So in a comfortable place that we don't even want to thank God

  305. for what his son did for you. And I It is.

  306. At this point, we also belong that humbly present, our

  307. requests and needs. We have admired, our Lord, we

  308. have confessed, our sins are forgiven him Thanksgiving.

  309. Offered our thanks ascribed. Our Thanksgiving to him, and now

  310. we can present our requests, ask knock and seek, but keeping in

  311. mind, beloved, keeping in mind that we should pray seek first,

  312. the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, And all these

  313. things will be added to. You says, Jesus.

  314. In Matthew 6:33, when he's talking about food and clothes,

    Matthew 6:33

  315. and relationships, and marriage and work and finances, God knows

  316. we need these, God will provide them according to his perfect

  317. timing. Beloved God, never forgets his

  318. promises. You see, he promised Abraham

  319. that he was going to give him the promised land.

  320. Abraham didn't see the promised land Abraham's seed, saw the

  321. promised land. Now, it's not that God in God.

  322. His promise. No God fulfilled his promise at

  323. the time. According to his perfect will

  324. knowledge and plan. So there are you there's your

  325. acts of praying adoration confession, Thanksgiving and

  326. supplication. And knowing that we have that

  327. confidence in our Lord, Jesus Christ, the son of God and by

  328. the prayers of all the saints of the of the Lord who are

  329. supplicating on our behalf according to the Book of

  330. Revelations, we come and join them and supplicate and give

  331. thanks and confess and adore but we present everything.

  332. To the Glorious father, in the name of his glorious son.

  333. Praise and glory be to his name and may God, the father, and the

  334. Son, and the Holy Spirit bless you all.

  335. One last thing. Please also don't forget to rate
