  4. mercies which sent you to us. Oh, Christ the light of the

  5. world and the life of all give us wisdom by a law and Enlighten

  6. our impulses, by your knowledge, sanctify, ourselves by your

  7. truth, and Grant that we may be obedient to your words and may

  8. fulfill your Commandments at every hour.

  9. Oh, you who enlightens the rationale with the knowledge of

  10. your greatness do in light or my Lord are thoughts that we made?

  11. Meditate upon your holy and divine scriptures at all times

  12. O, Lord of all Father and Son and Holy Spirit forever.

  13. Double-edged sword. A Christian podcast Ministry

  14. presented by father, jonard Lazar father.

  15. Jernard is a parish priest of the mud edit Parish of the

  16. Assyrian Church of the East and Turlock.

  17. California liking my high school years.

  18. Father, generic listening to a bank called Kool and the Gang.

  19. And Stephen just told me that he met Kool and the Gang.

  20. This is taking a few of you back, right?

  21. Eighteen years, and I still listen to a song and it was

  22. called cherish. And there was a, the lyrics

  23. would say, the world is always changing.

  24. Nothing stays the same but love will stand the test of time.

  25. The world is always changing nothing stays the same.

  26. Alrighty let's not get carried away and you know the world is

  27. always changing. That is so true.

  28. We live in In a world of change. And the only thing that is

  29. permanent in this world is change.

  30. It's guaranteed, you know, from a perils to rules, to

  31. regulations, to laws, to legislations, to family, to

  32. friends, to relationships. And even in this world, you, you

  33. come across all these events and events are.

  34. So, so tumbling over one, another without, even giving us

  35. time to get used to or to get settled in.

  36. In a certain event. So changes always happening in

  37. this world and in such a challenging time of change, we

  38. seem to be trying to look for, or searching constantly for, you

  39. know, durability or permanency in various places.

  40. Like we try our financial investments and we know that

  41. where that goes, people ring me. Sometimes the friends were

  42. listening out there, robbing Put some money in this stock, it's

  43. going great Elon Musk, Elon Musk.

  44. Just announced, I don't know what he announced, but go for

  45. it. All right.

  46. I'll try my luck or not, you know, I'll put some money in

  47. some investment and in the next day, bang it goes down.

  48. So it's always changing people look for things sometimes.

  49. Look for Honor, but, you know that many famous people so

  50. easily, forgotten so people look for permanency in many, many

  51. places. But, It's so evident, and it's

  52. inevitable that there is nothing but change in this wretched

  53. world that we're living in, but there is one person.

  54. Beloved one, king one man one. Holy pleasing loving man, the

  55. Christ, the son of God, Jesus Christ, praise be to his name.

  56. That never changes change is not in his in his nature and and the

  57. verse that I'd like to talk about is Hebrews. 13:8 Jesus

    Hebrews 13:8

  58. Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

  59. So yesterday doesn't mean that we are bound in Christ by time.

  60. No in his divinity is not bound. Jesus Christ is the same

  61. yesterday and today, and forever.

  62. Let's have a look at the, the first part of the verse Jesus

  63. Christ. Is this scene?

  64. Why is he the same? Because he is one.

  65. He is unique. Eek Paul writes to the

  66. Corinthians in his first epistle to the Corinthians Corinthians

  67. 8:6 to us on our part. There is one God the father from

  68. whom are all things. And we in him, and one Lord,

  69. Jesus Christ, his United with the Oneness of the Father, the

  70. one Lord Jesus Christ. The Messiah by whom are all

  71. things. And we also buy him.

  72. He is the same because he is the one unique ultimate, Lord and

  73. savior. And through Jesus Christ, we

  74. come to the father who created all things.

  75. John chapter 1 verses 1 to 3 in the beginning was the word and

    John 1:1–3

  76. the Word was with God and the Word was God, he was in the

  77. beginning with God. Everything was by his hand and

  78. without him was not any thing. Whatever, that existed through

  79. him. And according to 1st Timothy

  80. 2:15, he being in fact, a mediator between God, who is

  81. unchangeable according to James 1:17, every good and perfect

    James 1:17

  82. gift descends, from above, from the Father of Lights with whom.

  83. There is no change nor a shadow of variation and Jesus being the

  84. mediator that is in the salvific plan and work of God between God

  85. and human humankind, that heat also is unchangeable So we can

  86. all agree that almost every aspect of our life, there is an

  87. element of change. And since that is true, what

  88. Comfort, how comforting, what a relief, it is to turn from a

  89. changing circumstance of Life, aspects of life, to Jesus

  90. Christ, who is the same. He is the one that will never

  91. fail you and I in every aspect see our health changes from good

  92. to bad from healthy to unhealthy.

  93. But Christ who is unchangeable is the nth answer to our health,

  94. in our sickness, in our ill health, Paul writes in 2nd

  95. Corinthians 12:9 to 10, my grace is sufficient for you.

  96. For power is perfected in weakness, most gladly therefore

  97. st. Paul goes on to say, I will

  98. rather boast about my weaknesses that the power of Christ May

  99. dwell in me. Therefore, I am well content.

  100. With weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with

  101. persecutions with difficulties. Why for Christ's sake for when I

  102. am weak, then I am strong because of Jesus Christ.

  103. Who is the answer? Who is the Healer of our

  104. sicknesses, whether we are healed physically or remain in

  105. that same condition. But Jesus Christ is the strength

  106. in our Has when it comes to our health.

  107. In hardship. Last episode, we spoke about

  108. giving thanks to God as a musher David and I about giving thanks

  109. to God in any circumstance and we touched up on hardship a lot.

  110. John 16:33 Jesus says I've told you these things and when I say

    John 16:33

  111. Jesus says he is the same, he doesn't change his word, doesn't

  112. change his promises. I've been changed.

  113. His promises are not compromised at all.

  114. They are true and they are standing.

  115. I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace.

  116. Now in this world that we look for peace and comfort and and

  117. Tea and so lace, in this world you will have trouble.

  118. There it is off the bat, Jesus telling his followers, those who

  119. believe in him in this world, we will have trouble because of

  120. change but take heart, be of heart.

  121. I have overcome the world and Christ has never Conceded to the

  122. world. Christ is overcoming the world

  123. and we too can overcome this change of the world that brings

  124. hardship through Christ who does not change.

  125. Family friends, deserters best friends.

  126. You know, I've had, I've had people come to me and say

  127. Robbie, you know, I am so disappointed.

  128. I'm so broken. Hearted, I am so displeased with

  129. the best friend. I had who set stab me in the

  130. back like of a better term st. Paul says the same in 2, Timothy

  131. 4. No, man, stood with me.

  132. In this world of change and especially within people, we

  133. shouldn't really rely too much of people to stand rely, too

  134. much on people to stand with us in any circumstance.

  135. Just, let's pull these instructing, but we can also

  136. say, with him with Saint Paul, in the next verse, he goes on to

  137. say, notwithstanding the Lord stood with me.

  138. Lo I am with you until the end of times that hasn't changed.

  139. That will not change because Jesus Christ is the same.

  140. And you know, his unchanged ability.

  141. If there's such a word, he's unchanging nature extends to an

  142. even death. Draws knees to new to us

  143. beloved, John 11:25, I am the resurrection and the life.

    John 11:25

  144. So as we leave this world, we leave with the unchanging

  145. promise. Which was fulfilled with the

  146. empty tomb proven and assured with the empty tomb that he is

  147. the resurrection and we too will have Resurrection from the dead

  148. because of his unchangeable promise in Isaiah 9:6.

    Isaiah 9:6

  149. My Lord my savior is referred to as mighty God who does not

  150. change, praise be to his name. So Jesus is the Jesus Christ is

  151. the same yesterday and today and forever Hebrews. 13:8, and by

    Hebrews 13:8

  152. claiming, that Jesus is yesterday, we are not limiting

  153. Christ to the past. We are not limiting.

  154. Jesus Christ to a tense past tense, present, tense, or

  155. future. Jesus Christ is praise and glory

  156. be to his name. That is why he rightly claims Is

  157. that before Abraham was because Abraham is no longer.

  158. I am, it's an eternity locked within these words.

  159. But if we just remain in the yesterday and limit Christ to

  160. the Past, well then we have a Lord that is only limited to a

  161. certain period of time. But Saint Paul tells us that the

  162. same Jesus Christ of yesterday is the same today.

  163. Now, some say well times have changed obviously we ascertain

  164. that you know the work of Christ has changed which know he it

  165. hasn't changed. You know what Christ did in the

  166. past is not happening today. The Miracles that he performed

  167. the raising of the Dead, the healing of the crippled, we

  168. don't see that today. Well, we don't see it and we

  169. don't hear of it, it doesn't mean that it's not happening,

  170. and I'm sure that it is happening.

  171. Miracles are happening as we live regardless, whether we see

  172. them or hear of them are not. But let's take take the

  173. spiritual aspect of Jesus Christ work today, you know, blinded

  174. eyes. That are spiritually blinded

  175. eyes that are spiritually blinded by the God of this

  176. world. Today are still being opened

  177. people come to see the truth of Jesus Christ, and they leave the

  178. blind that life light of this world.

  179. The blinding light of this world, and come to the

  180. transparent light of Jesus Christ.

  181. Those who are crippled by sin, who are going nowhere in their

  182. life. Receive newness of life through

  183. Jesus Christ, crippled spiritually in sin, those ears

  184. that have been deafened or have been shut to.

  185. He, the Beautiful Life Giving Words of Christ are being open

  186. today and they're not only hearing the words, The

  187. life-giving Words of Christ, they are hearing the choose of

  188. heaven. So Christ is the same today.

  189. Day Christ is working. Christ is healing.

  190. It is church every Sunday each time the believer receive the

  191. Holy Eucharist the all sanctifying body and blood of

  192. Jesus Christ. If there is any spiritual

  193. crippling and is spiritual blindness and is spiritual Death

  194. - They are being healed and most importantly.

  195. Sins are being cleansed and forgiven just as Jesus did.

  196. The Jesus of yesterday is doing today, and Jesus Christ is not

  197. only of yesterday. And today, if we keep Jesus,

  198. only for today again, he's a limited Christ.

  199. He is the same forever. Saint Paul writes to the

  200. Corinthians in his first epistle is 1519 if only for this life.

  201. Today, we have hope in Christ. We are to be pitied more than

  202. all men. Let's paraphrase it.

  203. If only for the past four yesterday, and today we have

  204. hope in Christ. We are to be pitied more than

  205. all men, but no, we are not pitted because Jesus Christ is

  206. not only for yesterday and for today, but is forever.

  207. So in this Changing age. Let us take, heart, be

  208. encouraged, jump for joy, that we have a changeless Christ.

  209. A changeless Christ, who has rescued us from the Dominion of

  210. darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the son.

  211. He loves Colossians 1:13. A changeless Christ who is able

    Colossians 1:13

  212. to vivify to revive completely those who come to God through

  213. him because he always lives to intercede for them.

  214. Hebrews 7:25 a changeless Christ who gives us eternal life gives

    Hebrews 7:25

  215. us ongoing. Eternity gives us eternal life

  216. and we shall never perish and no one can snatch us out of He's

  217. hands and let blessed theophil act who was a Byzantine

  218. Archbishop of Horrid, which was a city in Northern Macedonia,

  219. who simplifies the teachings of the early church fathers.

  220. Especially, so John chrysostom comments on this.

  221. Any rights that, who are these, who will never be snatched out

  222. of the changeless Christ and are those who are intent on

  223. following him, that is Christ as his sheep.

  224. But if a sheep wanders off from the flock and does not follow

  225. the shepherd, it is lost at once and will indeed parish and he

  226. goes on to say that Judas at first was holy and one of God's

  227. sheep. He fell away.

  228. Away by his own choice. This shows that good and evil do

  229. not exist as permanent conditions of our nature, but

  230. are manifested when we exercise Free Will.

  231. So knowing that Jesus Christ is the same is, the same is the

  232. same yesterday. And today, and forever.

  233. We take heart, and confidence and encouragement that though

  234. the world is Changing. The world is always changing.

  235. Nothing. Stands the same but only Jesus

  236. Christ who is unchangeable. Gives us the hope to continue

  237. and through this change to remain unchangeable and

  238. permanent in our faith, in Our Hope in eternal life through

  239. Jesus Christ. Praise and glory be to His holy

  240. name now and that all times and forever.
