  7. truth, and Grant that we may be obedient to your words and may

  8. fulfill your Commandments at every hour.

  9. Oh, you who enlightens the rationale with the knowledge of

  10. your greatness do in light or my Lord are thoughts that we made?

  11. Meditate upon your holy and divine scriptures at all times

  12. O, Lord of all Father and Son and Holy Spirit forever.

  13. Double-edged sword. It Christian podcast Ministry

  14. presented by father, jonard Lazar, father.

  15. Jernard is a parish priest of the mud of the Parish of a

  16. Serene Church of the east in Turlock.

  17. California. Here's father.

  18. Jernard a bliss 2023 to oh my dear beloved Brothers and

  19. Sisters in Christ and I welcome you to this First episode for

  20. this New Year, let me start with Proverbs 16:9, the heart of a

    Proverbs 16:9

  21. man plans, his ways, and the Lord God orders.

  22. He steps that is, when we set plans, or New Year's resolutions

  23. in our hearts and minds. And sometimes minds are also

  24. referred to as Hearts. However, as faithful Christians,

  25. who truly strongly, wholeheartedly and undoubtedly

  26. hoping, The Lord from our whole heart and do not trust upon the

  27. wisdom of our soul that is our own, according to Proverbs 3:5,

    Proverbs 3:5

  28. we set all our plans. And we relinquish all our plans

  29. for the Lord to set them. In order to put order in our

  30. plans, we relinquish our paths, our steps to our resolutions, to

  31. the order of the Lord's, will the order of his Arrangements,

  32. how he pleases that our resolutions come to fruition,

  33. according to his will and not ours, according to his ways and

  34. not ours and according to his timing and not ours.

  35. And that's regardless of what we have said in our hearts and in

  36. our minds, beat our life and relationship with God, our

  37. Almighty Creator, and his son, our Lord Jesus Christ, and His

  38. holy spirit, our sanctifier, or also our Our life on Earth and

  39. all that we encounter on it, health wealth, career

  40. relationships, the UPS the Downs, the rounds, the the

  41. circles are squares and whatever we may face.

  42. Many may have already committed to their New Year's resolutions,

  43. but in this episode, I'd like to maybe suggest or I'll give you

  44. some supplementary resolutions to think about and maybe even

  45. practice and putting practice and by the will of God or set

  46. them at the will of So that he can place them in order.

  47. You see as Christians, we are called to worship.

  48. We are called to honor and to be obedient to God.

  49. Now that's faith. Faith is not something that

  50. moves us emotionally because emotions change, emotions are

  51. up. Emotions are down emotions.

  52. Can really do your mind in faith is being obedient to worship and

  53. to honor God. Now, as true Christians, we are

  54. called to seek God. Got to look for God.

  55. Meaning his will his grace, his Mercy, his kindness, His

  56. blessings, his directions, as Christians while we are on

  57. earth, we are to seek the kingdom of God and his

  58. righteousness, which is what Jesus commands in Matthew 6:33.

    Matthew 6:33

  59. Not so much the location of the kingdom of God, or it's state of

  60. being, but rather its requirements.

  61. It's prerequisites for entering into this kingdom of God or the

  62. kingdom. Of Heaven.

  63. Well, if we ask how, what is the key to that the greatest sermon

  64. in the history of the world past present and certainly the future

  65. given on the mountain, by the one.

  66. And only notice the definite article not just one and only

  67. the one and only Jesus Christ, the son of God who revealed and

  68. made known God to us. The true God he gives us the key

  69. to seeking God that is Coming citizens of the kingdom of God,

  70. or the Kingdom of Heaven, and the key in Matthew 5:3 is

    Matthew 5:3

  71. spiritual poverty. Let's seek that beloved.

  72. Let that be our New Year's resolution to be bankrupt

  73. spiritual and we're going to talk about that.

  74. Blessed are the poor in spirit. Or let me, let me, let me quote

  75. that in the, in the shuttle version, blessed by the spirit

  76. are the poor. So blessed are the poor in

  77. spirit. Because theirs is the kingdom of

  78. heaven or the kingdom of God, but we may ask in what respects

  79. or what aspects of poverty Marie, should add Bishop of had

  80. a father in Assyria. Circa, eighty fifty a d-- quotes

  81. Martha door of MEPS. Tia, who was a Christian

  82. Theologian and he was very renowned in the interpretation

  83. of scriptures live between 350 and 425 writes.

  84. This This, he calls poor in spirit.

  85. Those who are not uplifted in their thoughts, because of their

  86. righteousness, or because of their riches or because of their

  87. wisdom. But are gentle and humble.

  88. There it is. Nice that resolution gentle and

  89. humble. He goes on because with the

  90. passion of Pride, Satan become at the first began at the first,

  91. buy it here. A sore that means he had Ed

  92. Pride by it. He raised his heel against the

  93. Creator and by it he demanded respect reverence from his

  94. associates and because of this, he fell like lightning from

  95. heaven and he continues Our Redeemer justly.

  96. Cleanses this pageant first by means of contempt or dislike

  97. disapproval of oneself and humility of mine.

  98. Now, being the first of the nine blessings Jesus has reserved for

  99. for those who believed and has been baptized in his name.

  100. We need to take a close look and be serious about this.

  101. Beloved off the bat off the bat. If we set in our minds and in

  102. our hearts to seek the kingdom of God, if this is going to be

  103. our supplementary resolution, New Year's resolution, if we

  104. haven't already had one. One.

  105. If we set our minds and our hearts to seek the kingdom of

  106. God and I'm sure all Christians do.

  107. We need to be poor when it comes to self-righteousness.

  108. And that's what we're going to talk about.

  109. Which is defined as having or Carrick characterized by a

  110. certainty especially an unfounded or baseless one.

  111. That one is totally correct or morally Superior.

  112. You think you are correct? You think you are morally

  113. Superior because of self-righteousness.

  114. Beloved, look at where the world is today.

  115. Look at the state and the situation.

  116. The world. You see the world today is

  117. crying out. The word Freedom, right?

  118. Liberty, and freedom of speech, freedom of choice, freedom of

  119. principles. That's okay, that's fine.

  120. That's expected from the world, it's expectable.

  121. And it's only going to get worse and you know why the world is

  122. where it is at because of the Free World that it has been

  123. given or gifted. By her creator.

  124. Because the world's standard of the what I've spoke above are

  125. measured by self-righteousness of the world and not the

  126. righteousness of God. But not.

  127. So with Christians, beloved, we've been called according to

  128. Galatians Chapter 5 Verse 3, as children of God, as faithful

    Galatians 5:3

  129. Christians of God, we've been called to Liberty.

  130. We have free will. But Paul goes on to say, only

  131. net, and let not your free will be an opportunity of the flesh.

  132. But you should be serving one another by love.

  133. So let's take the freedom of speech that everyone is echoing

  134. in the world. And I'm free to say, whatever.

  135. I please regardless of how harm or what, it causes the damage

  136. that it may cause you know, the freedom of speech.

  137. We do have yes from God, but we need to be very careful.

  138. What we utter in speech. Paul writes in his epistle to

  139. the She has 4:6. We need to utter words that are

  140. always with Grace as if season with salt and being aware how it

  141. is appropriate to answer each man.

  142. You know, we only can accomplish this when we are pouring the

  143. spirit, or according to the Aramaic translation or the

  144. positive version, blessed by the spirit are those who are poor.

  145. So through the Holy Spirit, It we can become poor in our self

  146. righteousness, so that when we want to claim that freedom of

  147. speech, we have, we don't claim it according to our

  148. righteousness, but God's righteousness and God's

  149. righteousness and truth. And Holiness is telling us in

  150. the scriptures and we need to be careful what we say.

  151. What comes out of our mouth should be seasoned with salt.

  152. In other words, not to park. Ha, ha not Bland, you know what

  153. we say? So it's for the edification of

  154. those who hear the word. And in the case of our freedom

  155. to choose. Yes, of course Adam and Eve

  156. chose to eat from the forbidden fruit which was a fig.

  157. They chose to do that because they had the free will but we

  158. are to choose as did Mary. Lazarus and Martha sister.

  159. Who came and sat by the feet of Jesus Christ.

  160. Why while Martha was doing her heading serving food?

  161. And Jesus said, Mary has chosen that good part for herself,

  162. which will not be taken away from her.

  163. We need to choose the good part for our lives or our souls,

  164. which will not be taken away from us.

  165. Matthew 10:42. What is good part?

    Matthew 10:42

  166. What is a good part? Is the vision of God choosing to

  167. be at the feet of Jesus Christ. When it comes to pro-choice,

  168. There's another a code word, that is so, so what I call that

  169. word. So audible lack of a better term

  170. in the world pro-choice. Yes, yes.

  171. We have the Liberty to pro-choice, but let us choose.

  172. Jesus Christ, and whole, his Commandments, and his morality

  173. in life. And lastly, in the case of

  174. freedom of principles, We are to choose according to the

  175. righteousness of God. We are to choose morality ethics

  176. margutta. We say in a Syrian group te

  177. indignity shame. Why?

  178. Why? Because alarmingly in the Book

  179. of Revelations chapter 21, verse 8, we read, but to the timid,

    Revelation 21:8

  180. the coward, the chicken. And the unbelieving and to the

  181. sinful and polluted immoral. Let's say and to the man Slayers

  182. that's murderers to the whoremongers and Sorcerers

  183. fornicators. Those are engage in a sexual

  184. relationship outside of marriage and to the adulterers.

  185. The husband who is not faithful to the wife and vice versa.

  186. Sir, and the idolaters, those who worship idols, money, Fame,

  187. glory honor, and to, all false persons Liars, their portion

  188. shall be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is

  189. the second death. So, all of those deeds that John

  190. is mentioning in Revelation, 21:8 they are fine.

  191. They are okay. According to the

  192. self-righteousness of the world but they are totally contrary to

  193. God's righteousness and God's holiness, which we the children

  194. of God had been called to And as for being wise and having wisdom

  195. and riches, that's fine. They are a blessing from the

  196. Lord, you know, maybe even then many people think that wealth is

  197. evil and I have this argument, no no money is not evil because

  198. if it is evil, if wealth is evil, then God has given us

  199. evil. No.

  200. The love of money is the root of all evil. you know, when you,

  201. when you puff up yourself because you have a few dollars,

  202. more than your neighbors in the account, or when you look down

  203. at people because you have a few degrees more than your brother

  204. who maybe doesn't have any degrees or education I'm talking

  205. about Academia. Jeremiah 9:23.

    Jeremiah 9:23

  206. Reads, thus says the Lord God, this is God speaking.

  207. Beloved, a wise men shall not boast in his wisdom because God

  208. has given you wisdom. And the mighty shall not boast

  209. in his might because God has given you the strength neither

  210. shall the rich because it's God's blessing may boast in his

  211. wealth. You know, we are not to even

  212. boast according to Ephesians, we are not to boast in our faith

  213. because Jesus was the cause of our faith.

  214. Jesus is the cause of us, believing.

  215. So humility. Humble in the spirit.

  216. Beloved, that's what we've been called to, and that's how we

  217. can. I don't want to say gain but be

  218. blessed graciously blessed, with the kingdom of God, or the

  219. Kingdom of Heaven. The thank you Audrina, for the

  220. reminder, how do we apply this in our lives?

  221. And by the way, we have a special guest with us tonight.

  222. Sean genre Hey, Sean. Poor were talking about poverty

  223. in the spirit. Welcome, Sean!

  224. Good to have you. Merry Christmas and a Happy New

  225. Year to you, too. How do we apply this year?

  226. That's a very question. Well, I think the the verse

  227. says, At All, by the Spirit, by the power of the holy spirit.

  228. So when you get on your knees tonight or now or any time that

  229. you're going to pray next and you've heard this episode and

  230. you do want to make this a new years.

  231. Lucien Prater to the spirit, pray to the Holy Spirit.

  232. And I ask the Holy Spirit to intercede and to help and to

  233. strengthen you to truly see the seriousness of the Kingdom of

  234. Heaven, first and foremost, and see the seriousness of being

  235. righteous in the eyes of those eyes of God and not the world.

  236. Yeah, you're saying it again. Yeah.

  237. You always refers to pray. We have nothing else to do.

  238. We love it. Jesus commanded all his

  239. instructions to his disciples and then he said, I am the vine.

  240. You are the branches. If you're not connected to me,

  241. you will not live there for you cannot do anything without me.

  242. And how do we do it through Christ?

  243. We do it through prayer, through fasting and these are deeds and

  244. my next episode is going to be about the essential Leti, it

  245. says, there is such a word essential Leti of deed.

  246. You know, many people totally right off.

  247. Deeds, but no will read from the scriptures by praying by fasting

  248. by giving arms. You know, these are the Deeds

  249. that truly helped us to Humble ourselves and to bankrupt

  250. ourselves through self righteousness.

  251. So that only God's righteousness leads and overcomes everything

  252. in our lives. So, Will you join me by making

  253. this your ninth day of the New Year resolution?

  254. If so, in our prayer and our beseeching?

  255. The Lord is gracious Mercy's. Let's commit, let's make a

  256. promise or let us ask the law to help us to bring to that.

  257. Bring us to this resolution. That Lord, I truly want to seek

  258. you. And how can I CQ, how can I seek

  259. your kingdom of God? Is to relinquish?

  260. Koosh all my free will all myself understandings of wisdom,

  261. self-righteousness. Self-knowledge, into your

  262. glorious hands and your path and your order.

  263. Praise and glory, be to your name now on at all times and

  264. forever. Amen.
