  1. In the name of the glorious Trinity, Father and Son and Holy

  2. Spirit forever. Amen.

  3. Glory be to the everlasting mercies which sent you to us, O

  4. Christ, the Light of the world and the life of all.

  5. Give us wisdom by your law and enlighten our impulses by your

  6. knowledge. Sanctify our souls by your

  7. truth, and grant that we may be obedient to your words and may

  8. fulfill your commandments at every hour.

  9. O you who enlightens the rational with the knowledge of

  10. your greatness, do enlight, O my Lord, our thoughts that we may

  11. meditate upon your holy and divine Scriptures at all times,

  12. O Lord of all, Father and Son and Holy Spirit forever.

  13. Amen. In EU 1970, the American singer,

  14. guitarist Glenn Campbell released his song titled Try a

  15. Little Kindness. You've got to try a Little

  16. kindness. And the first stanza goes like

  17. this. I remember because we used to

  18. sing it. And in primary school or

  19. elementary school, if you see your brother standing by the

  20. road with a heavy load from the seeds he's sowed.

  21. That means the burns of his, the fruits of his deeds or you know,

  22. pertaining to sin. And if you see your sister

  23. falling, by the way, just stop and say you're going the wrong

  24. way. What he's telling us is that

  25. stop and make that kind, that loving, that non condemnating

  26. judgment or correction. That's what I'd like to discuss

  27. in this episode, and I've preached this in a Syrian, and I

  28. believe there are live streamings on there on Facebook

  29. and YouTube and in the English language as well.

  30. But I put in my heart that I'd like to share it with you.

  31. The the podcast world out there, are we permitted to judge?

  32. And what is judgment? Because when you speak to

  33. someone in loving kindness and you try to correct or point out

  34. something that is flawed, the first respond is you can't judge

  35. me. Only God can judge me off the

  36. bat. Judgment is different to

  37. condemnation. Judgment de anta is different to

  38. Khaya uta, condemnation to eternity to hell.

  39. We are not permitted to make that final judgment.

  40. We are not permitted to condemn people to hell or gift them with

  41. a bliss of the Kingdom of heaven.

  42. We don't know that is God's final judgment because he sees

  43. everything non partial. He sees everything righteous.

  44. He is a righteous God. And Saint Paul instructs us in

  45. his first letter to the Corinthians, chapter 4, verse 5.

  46. And he writes, therefore you should judge nothing before time

  47. until the Lord God, that is Maria Mar, Lord Yeah, God Iliya,

  48. the name of God. Yeah.

  49. So when the scriptures referred to Jesus as Maria Ishamshiha, it

  50. is the Lord God Jesus Christ. Praise be to his name.

  51. So judge nothing before the time until the Lord God Maria will

  52. come, who shall illuminate the secrets of darkness and reveal

  53. the imaginations of the hearts, And then there shall be praise

  54. to each one from God. So we are not permitted to make

  55. that final condemnation. St.

  56. Ephraim the Assyrian circa 306373 rights.

  57. Do not mock or judge someone who has fallen into sin.

  58. If we stop there, you may be saying, well, there it is.

  59. The Church Fathers are not permitting us to judge, but he

  60. goes on to say, but rather pray lest you fall into sin.

  61. Do not mock or judge someone who has fallen into sin.

  62. How do you know? How do you make that judgment?

  63. How do you come to that conclusion that someone has

  64. fallen into sin? So when you see someone who has

  65. fallen into sin, and you have made that conclusion, you have

  66. made that righteous judgment. Well, St.

  67. Ephram tells us that we should not mock that person, We should

  68. not judge that person. To condemnation St.

  69. Ephram is not deterring and and disallowing us to judge a tree

  70. or know a tree by its fruit, as Christ has commanded in Luke.

  71. 644 So St. Ephram the fathers and the song

  72. and judgment that we people claim that we pass is not that

  73. final judgment is a correction. It's that loving correction,

  74. that loving conclusion that we make when we see someone in that

  75. is fallen in sin. We do not mock.

  76. We do not hate, we do not condemn.

  77. Let's examine what God is telling us in the Holy

  78. Scriptures. Leviticus chapter 19, verse 15.

    Leviticus 19:15

  79. You shall not do evil in judgment.

  80. So when you do judge, don't do it evil.

  81. You should not. You shall not do evil in

  82. judgment. You shall not accept the face of

  83. the poor, neither the face of the great, but in righteousness.

  84. Listen to this. Stop your washing of the dishes.

  85. Stop your vacuuming. Pull, pull over to one side.

  86. Take heed. This is God speaking in the book

  87. of Liverticus. But in righteousness judge your

  88. fellow man, correct your fellow man.

  89. Rebuke your fellow man in righteousness, in love, in

  90. mercy. Now that verse is about not

  91. showing partiality. Yes, Saint Jerome, circa 33340.

  92. Three 47420. Rights for each individual is to

  93. be judged not by his personal importancy, is to be judged not

  94. by his personal importance, but by the merits of his case.

  95. He's commenting on liberty because 1915 his wealth need not

  96. stand in the way of the rich man if he makes a good use of it.

  97. Just because he's wealthy doesn't mean he's an evil person

  98. and he continues. And poverty of itself can be no

  99. recommendation to the poor if in the midst of squalor and want,

  100. he fails to stay away from wrongdoing.

  101. So just because someone is poor doesn't make them a St. if they

  102. do not stay away from wrongdoing.

  103. And just because someone is rich doesn't make that person evil if

  104. the person does good with his wealth.

  105. So he's commenting on Leviticus 1915 that let's not show

  106. partiality in our judgment, but in righteousness.

  107. God the Father, Creator of heaven and earth.

  108. When we claim that only God can judge me, well that God that you

  109. permit and accept His judgment, that same God is instructing and

  110. commanding us that if we pass judgment make it righteous, not

  111. in partiality. And Jesus expands on this in

  112. John Chapter 7, verse 24. Do not judge with partiality,

    John 7:24

  113. but judge i.e. Correct rebuke, just justly

  114. righteously judge a just judgment.

  115. Correct justly, rebuke justly. Now by what measures can we

  116. judge correct rebuke? Jesus gives us that in John

  117. 1248, whoever rejects me and does not receive my words that

  118. are in the Scriptures, has one that judges him, the word that I

  119. have spoken that shall judge him in the last day.

  120. There is the means of our judgment when we see, when we

  121. comment, when we conclude, when we rebuke, when we judge,

  122. etcetera, etcetera. We are instructed to do it

  123. righteously by judging according to the standards, Standards of

  124. Christ according to Christ, standards found in the

  125. Scriptures and incorporated in the Church cannons and laws.

  126. We don't always need to quote scripture.

  127. We can also encourage and remind each other of the Church cannons

  128. and laws. But let us be careful if we're

  129. going to judge. We do not judge to condemn to

  130. hell or eternal judgment or hopelessness.

  131. We do not write people up. We have not been given that

  132. permission, that encouragement, that right in the holy

  133. scriptures or the church itself. Now you may be saying, Robbie,

  134. let me give you some verses where I'm going to derail this

  135. episode now and I will say bring it on.

  136. You may be saying, On the other hand, Jesus commands not to

  137. judge. Amen.

  138. Matthew 71 You shall not judge lest you be judged, right?

  139. I think the the my reply would be the second-half or second

  140. part of that verse. You shall not judge lest you be

  141. judged. Why is Jesus telling us?

  142. Do not judge, it continues. For with the judgment that you

  143. judge, you will be judged, and with the measures that you

  144. measure, it will be measured to you as well.

  145. So if I want to point my finger at someone, and correct and

  146. rebuke and judge, and make a conclusion come to a conclusion,

  147. I must have passed that judgment upon myself.

  148. If I fail miserably, then I dare not judge my friend because the

  149. blind will be leading the blind. You know Jesus gave that

  150. parable. If 2 poor blind men are leading

  151. one another, they will both both fall in the pit.

  152. So if we not show pity, if we not do in love, if we not

  153. express mercy in our judgment, in our correction, then we too

  154. will be judged with that standard.

  155. James chapter 2, verse 13. The judgment is without mercy

    James 2:13

  156. against him who does not practice mercy.

  157. But with mercy you have dominion over judgment.

  158. Christ rebuked, Christ made made a judgment.

  159. He came to a conclusion because he is God praising glory to his

  160. name, and he was done in love. He came to correct man.

  161. He came to bring man back, reinstate man back to the state.

  162. He was in the same state when he was created.

  163. He came to reconcile man with God.

  164. So if we want to pass judgment and rebuke and make comments,

  165. our intention, our motive should be only to bring back that

  166. brother and that sister back to the righteousness of the truth

  167. of Jesus Christ. And as I mentioned last Sunday,

  168. the truth of Jesus. Listen up, everyone, Listen to

  169. this very, very carefully. Okay, listen very carefully.

  170. The truth of Jesus Christ found in the scriptures, in the

  171. Church, canons and laws will not be at all defaulted or or or

  172. affected by politics, by tolerance, by philosophy of the

  173. world. The truth of Jesus Christ will

  174. not be affected at all by any politics, any tolerance or any

  175. philosophy, psychology, whatever you want to call it.

  176. The truth of God will remain. The truth of the scriptures will

  177. remain until the Lord returns. Because Jesus said it is by

  178. those truths which is in the word, that He will judge you and

  179. I and and if you missed it, go back a little bit, go back a few

  180. 10 seconds intervals and you will hear it again.

  181. The brother and the sister, meaning our Christian brothers

  182. and sisters, members of the household in particular, we are

  183. to look out for and to make that judgment.

  184. To correct, to rebuke, to bring back to morality.

  185. To bring back to the light of Christ the the truth of the

  186. Scriptures. To bring back to the new life

  187. that is with Jesus Christ. To bring back to God the Father

  188. through Jesus Christ. Because we are not only made in

  189. the image and likeness of God, we are the children of God.

  190. Because we believe in Jesus Christ, because we have been

  191. baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the

  192. Jesus Christ and of the Holy Spirit, which is the baptism of

  193. Jesus Christ. We've been put to death, We've

  194. been clothed. We become the children of God.

  195. Listen to this very carefully, intently.

  196. We become the children of God only when we have believed in

  197. Jesus Christ and have been baptized in his holy name.

  198. So in particular of the household, our brothers and

  199. sisters, we are to look out for and to judge.

  200. Saint Paul instructs the Corinthians in his first

  201. epistle, chapter 5, verses 12 to 13 for business.

  202. Have I to judge outsiders outside of the faith judge the

  203. There it is. There it is.

  204. You can't judge. Only God can judge me.

  205. Only God and Jesus Christ can judge me.

  206. I mean to that, that eternal damnation, of course, but the

  207. scriptures are telling us, instructing us, oh, Saint Paul

  208. was a mere man. Saint Paul was a sexist.

  209. Saint Paul was biased. You know all these blasphemies.

  210. Why? You know why?

  211. Because Saint Paul said it as it is.

  212. He didn't sugarcoat it like some preachers are sugarcoating

  213. today. He didn't sugarcoat.

  214. He said it as it is. Judge the insiders, Let me tell

  215. you, Saint Paul on the road to Damascus, Jesus Christ, the only

  216. Son of God, God Incarnate, appeared to him and called him

  217. his chosen vessel. You love Jesus.

  218. You need to love Saint Paul. You need to listen to Saint

  219. Paul. Jesus says he who receives you

  220. receives me. Saint Paul says imitate me

  221. because I imitate Jesus Christ. He is instructing us not to

  222. worry about the outsiders, just to pray that they come to the

  223. light of Jesus Christ. But the insiders judge the

  224. insiders, but God judges the outsiders.

  225. That's why I said pray that they come into the light of Jesus

  226. Christ, the truth of the true one, true God through Jesus

  227. Christ. Remove the evil one from your

  228. myths. We are stick.

  229. We are to stick to one another, beloved.

  230. We are to worry about one another.

  231. We are to stress about one another.

  232. We are to lose sleep about one another as children of God.

  233. As Christians we have to look out for one another.

  234. Galatians chapter 6 verses one to two Saint Paul writes.

    Galatians 6 chapter mention

  235. My brethren, if any of you should be overtaken by a fault

  236. or a sin, you who are in the Spirit do not compromise, do not

  237. be loving and and and encourage. No, you who are in the Spirit

  238. should restore him in the spirit of humility, because you've made

  239. that judgment that this brother is in fault.

  240. He is in sin because of his deeds, his or her deeds, or the

  241. words that come out of the mouth or the lifestyle.

  242. You who are in the spirit should restore him in the spirit of

  243. there it is humility. Love, mercy, kindness, kindness,

  244. not condemnation. And be cautious lest you also be

  245. tempted. Be cautious, lest you also begin

  246. to compromise and tolerate. Be very careful and bear the

  247. burdens of one another, for in this way you fulfill the law of

  248. Jesus Christ. This is how we honor and love

  249. and respect Jesus Christ by fulfilling by obeying his laws.

  250. Proverbs 2717 Iron sharpens iron, and a man sharpens the

  251. person of his neighbor. Look out for one another, rebuke

  252. one another, judge one another, in loving, in kindness, in

  253. humility, to bring back one more time and this again the

  254. righteous judgment. However, we need to be very

  255. careful to avoid hypocrisy, hypocrites, Jesus says in

  256. Matthew 75. First cast out the plank from

  257. your own eye and then you will see to cast out the chip from

  258. your brother's eye. When you have passed the

  259. judgment on yourself and your conscience is clear, then you

  260. may dare in loving kindness, mercy.

  261. I keep repeating this because people twist words nowadays in

  262. loving kindness, in mercy, with the only motive and intention is

  263. to bring back and to restore that brother to to to cause that

  264. brother grief and sorrow, not joy and happiness.

  265. Because when you cross cause the brother and sister grief and

  266. sorrow who are in sin in this world, you will then gain them

  267. that eternal joy in the Kingdom of heaven.

  268. You want people to be joyful and happy in sin, in error on this

  269. earth. Then you are paving the way for

  270. eternal sorrow distant from the presence of God.

  271. And to conclude, I'd like to share with you some of the some

  272. of the hymns of the Church of the East, and in particular the

  273. liturgy of the burial of the deceased.

  274. We sing those who have been rejected by their deeds, the

  275. door of the wedding feast will not be open onto them.

  276. Now we're going to dare to say, well, the church fathers are

  277. judging and they have no rights to do that.

  278. Well, read Matthew chapter 25 before you pass, before we pass

    Matthew 25 chapter mention

  279. any judgment. See, that's not a righteous

  280. judgment. Matthew Chapter 25.

    Matthew 25 chapter mention

  281. Those who have been rejected by their deeds, because their deeds

  282. are evil, the door of the wedding feast will not be open

  283. onto them. Abraham will not refresh those

  284. who are burning in the flames of fire.

  285. Luke 161931, Parable of Lazarus and the rich man.

  286. The judge will not forgive those who have not repented.

  287. These are this is 1000, probably 1400 year old liturgy beloved.

  288. The Church Fathers wrote this inspired by the Holy Spirit and

  289. quoting Scripture. The judge will not forgive those

  290. who have not repented Luke 13 three to five, unless you

  291. repent. You also shall perish for this

  292. reason. This is the correct thing that

  293. we need to we need to begin to to pass on to our brothers and

  294. sisters in sin. This is the judgment.

  295. This is the rebuking. For this reason take refuge in

  296. repentance. Owe my soul and say I have

  297. sinned against you. O Lord, have pity and mercy upon

  298. me. Now themes are judging words to

  299. me, that the door will not be open, there will be no

  300. forgiveness, the flames will not be this thing, this thing

  301. extinguished. And we sing in one of the hymns

  302. of the the hymns of the communion.

  303. While while the the faithful are being receiving communion, we

  304. sing the clan Sora. We have hope, we sing it.

  305. But I know we don't even know what we're singing at times, but

  306. we sing it. We like to hear it because of

  307. the tune and it's sad, but but this is what we're saying.

  308. Anyone who is intoxicated by the cup meaning the blood of Christ,

  309. anyone who approaches the cup and thinks that they're going to

  310. have a a sip of wine and make a mockery of it fire will be seen

  311. as refreshing to him. You work that one out.

  312. I'm not going to expand on this. Anyone who is intoxicated by the

  313. precious blood of Jesus Christ, that it be that is being served

  314. in the cup fire, will be seen as refreshing to Him.

  315. So yes, we have been permitted, we are encouraged through the

  316. Scriptures to judge, to correct, to rebuke, to bring in order, to

  317. bring into repentance, but in love, in mercy, and not in

  318. hypocrisy and in what order? Here it is.

  319. Judge righteously through the Scriptures, through the Church

  320. canons, through the liturgical sacraments, through the Church

  321. Fathers judge in pity, in love, in care and mercy.

  322. Be sure to have judged yourself first.

  323. Be sure to have looked in the mirror 1st and then do not judge

  324. to condemn to eternal hell. But our righteous judge is Jesus

  325. Christ. And when we want to pass that

  326. judgment we want to correct, we pray that the Lord will grant us

  327. the prudence, the love, the mercy that He possesses.

  328. We pray to the Lord that He will grant us the knowledge of the

  329. righteous judgment that He passes, and that we too may,

  330. through His grace and through His mercy, by his permission, by

  331. His direction, make that judgment to bring our brother or

  332. sister from death to life, from a state of being lost in a state

  333. of being found in Jesus Christ. Praise and glory be to His holy

  334. Name, now and at all times and forever.

  335. Amen. We hope you enjoyed this week's
