  1. In the name of the glorious Trinity, Father and Son and Holy

  2. Spirit forever. Amen.

  3. Glory be to the everlasting mercies which sent you to us, O

  4. Christ, the Light of the world and the life of all.

  5. Give us wisdom by your law and enlighten our impulses by your

  6. knowledge. Sanctify our souls by your

  7. truth, and grant that we may be obedient to your words and may

  8. fulfill your commandments at every hour.

  9. O you who enlightens the rationale with the knowledge of

  10. your greatness, do enlight, O my Lord, our thoughts that we may

  11. meditate upon your holy and divine scriptures at all times.

  12. O Lord of all, Father and Son and Holy Spirit forever.

  13. Amen. While I was preparing this

  14. episode, the question came to mind.

  15. Who invented the helmet? So I did the usual asked Hal to

  16. Halo or to Google, and he or she replied that helmets were

  17. invented around 2500 BC, that is before Christ, not before Common

  18. era, 2500 years before Christ. And they were invited to protect

  19. the wearer during battle. And these were individual

  20. examples but not mass produced, so they would be made

  21. individually. Interestingly, the first mass

  22. production or the 1st mass produced versions were worn by

  23. lo and behold, the Assyrians. It was the Assyrian soldiers 900

  24. years before Christ or 900 BC. They actually made a mass

  25. production of helmets and they were mainly made from bronze and

  26. protecting the wearer from sword blows and arrow strikes.

  27. A little trivia for you. I was really encouraged and

  28. proud of my nation, as I always am.

  29. Every time you look into something an an invention,

  30. you'll find an Assyrian name. Praise and glory be to God.

  31. Now let's get back to the armor of God, which we've been

  32. speaking for the past. I think there's three episodes

  33. and we're discuss discussing the Armor of God to be utilized to

  34. avoid giving Satan a foothold. And today we're going to discuss

  35. the helmet of God and the sword in Ephesians chapter six.

  36. First part of the 17 Saint Paul encourages or instructs that we

  37. take the helmet or the God of salvation.

  38. And by this Saint Paul is implying the firm, the rock

  39. solid hope in God, one of his implications, the firm and rock

  40. solid hope in God. And this saves and protects our

  41. head, that is our mind, our intellect, and protects it from

  42. white from every raid of evil thoughts.

  43. And also it is Christ himself. Indeed who is the author of

  44. salvation. Who is the salvation that God

  45. sent to mankind? He is our head, and it is indeed

  46. Christ who guards the heads of the faithful that have committed

  47. to him, are faithful, loving him and obedient to him.

  48. Therefore he is the helmet of salvation.

  49. So when Paul is saying take the helmet or God of salvation

  50. alongside with the rock firm solid hoping God it's taking on

  51. Jesus Christ. So how do we put on Christ?

  52. What do we how do we take him and wear it and use it as a

  53. helmet, as a God? How do we utilize Jesus Christ?

  54. Praise be to his name as a God, to our mind and our thoughts and

  55. our intellects, is to have him constantly on our thoughts, our

  56. minds, our thinking, our contemplations.

  57. In one of the episodes of The Simpsons, Yes, it's very big in

  58. Australia. I'm not sure if it's still big

  59. in Australia. Not so much in the United

  60. States. I recalled an episode, a scene

  61. where Homer receives a new working partner, and it's a

  62. female working partner. And they are selected to attend

  63. some show and it's in the elevator.

  64. And Homer is the with the female work partner and he's telling

  65. his brains to think of unsexy thoughts and he's constantly

  66. repeating it to himself. What is he doing that is to

  67. avoid falling for immoral temptation and lust?

  68. We do the same, but in a contrary way.

  69. When we take on Christ as the helmet of our salvation, it is

  70. as though we are constantly telling ourselves, filling our

  71. minds, filling our thoughts and telling it to think of Jesus

  72. Christ, think of Jesus Christ. That's what we need to be

  73. telling our minds. That's what we need we need to

  74. be doing with our minds and thoughts to think continuously

  75. of Jesus Christ, our salvation. Who is the God and how do we do

  76. this? Saint Paul in the 5th chapter of

  77. his Letter to the Ephesians verse 19 gives us the clue.

  78. But speak to yourselves in psalms and hymns and songs of

  79. the spirit meaning spiritual songs by singing in your hearts,

  80. which also implies the minds to the Lord God constantly sing

  81. Padisha. Allah or Holy God, Holy mighty,

  82. holy, mortal, have mercy on us unto you.

  83. Lord of all we confess in truth. O my Lord, we are not worthy.

  84. All right, constantly say to yourself, Think to yourself,

  85. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, Lord Jesus, Jesus, in the name

  86. of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, you know

  87. those who'd like. And I'm going to commit Stephen

  88. and Audrina, the producers, to this.

  89. I have recorded a few church hymns and antiphons, and I think

  90. you can find them on somewhere. Just message us and Stephen and

  91. Audrina will will direct you to it so we have where you can

  92. continuously be listening to spiritual songs.

  93. That's what Saint Paul is instructing.

  94. Beloved, be speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns

  95. and songs of the Spirit by singing in your heart or your

  96. mind to the Lord God. And the second-half of verse 17,

  97. Paul also instructs that we take up the sword of the Spirit,

  98. which is the word of God. Hence, when I invite my beloved

  99. brothers and sisters to the adults Bible studies gathering

  100. on Mondays at 6:30 PM at Larsa Hall, I end my message, which

  101. with bring your sword and a friend implying to the word of

  102. God the Holy Scriptures. Now you may have noticed that

  103. the past episodes and what we've been discussing, that the

  104. weapons given and recommended by Saint Paul and spoken of

  105. previously are defensive ones. Ones where we defend ourselves

  106. with now comes our offensive weapons or armors to strike and

  107. slay the enemy, which is the sword of the spirit, which is

  108. the word of God. And that is possibly a

  109. translation of the Holy Spirit itself, or the grace of the Holy

  110. Spirit or the spiritual way of life.

  111. By this means we can cut off the strikes and cut off the

  112. temptations and the luring and the deception of the evil one.

  113. In Isaiah chapter 27, verse one we read this is a prophecy.

    Isaiah 27 chapter mention

  114. In that day the Lord shall visit with the hard and great and

  115. powerful sword, which is the Word, which is also Christ

  116. himself, the word of God. He will strike.

  117. He shall visit with a hard and great and powerful sword against

  118. Levithean, which is a servant, a serpent dragon, and against

  119. Levithean, the widening serpent. This is all a a typology of the

  120. enemy Satan and he shall kill the dragon in the sea with the

  121. sword which is the word of God, which is Christ himself, the

  122. word of God. Remember, beloved is not just

  123. the scriptures, it's not just the written word of God, the

  124. accounted word of God. The word of God with a uppercase

  125. W is Jesus Christ. He is the word of God our Lord

  126. Jesus Christ and by this also Saint Paul casted out demons.

  127. By this then the Apostles healed the sick in the name of Jesus

  128. Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

  129. Saint Peter said commanded in Acts chapter 3 verse six.

    Acts 3 chapter mention

  130. So what Saint Paul is also referring to here is that the

  131. spiritual truth, wisdom, power, direction, conviction,

  132. encouragement, inspiration, reassurance, etcetera.

  133. They all reside in the Word of God, the Word of God, Jesus

  134. Christ, and the written Word of God.

  135. You know when you hear a sermon, when you hear a proclamation of

  136. the Word of God, it is the power of that word that fills your

  137. mind, guards your mind. We pray this guard our minds

  138. from the evil one. How do we do that?

  139. By contemplating, thinking constantly on the word of God,

  140. Jesus Christ himself, and the written Word of God.

  141. And by by taking on Christ in our minds we have put on that

  142. guard. Hence this.

  143. This podcast is the double edged sword.

  144. This is our weapon. In Hebrews chapter 4, verse 12,

    Hebrews 4:12

  145. Saint Paul writes for the word of God is quick and powerful,

  146. sharper than any two edged sword.

  147. If you have no relationship with the word of God, which is Jesus

  148. Christ Himself, praise be to His name and you have no

  149. relationship. You you have no affiliation with

  150. the written word of God, which is your sword, the Bible, the

  151. Holy Scriptures, you are in a very dangerous position.

  152. You are open to the flaming arrows of the enemy who will

  153. shoot them and will make the market the the the target will

  154. hit the target and the fall will be great.

  155. But when we do constantly have that unwavering relationship

  156. with the word of God, Jesus Christ, the written word, the

  157. Holy Scriptures, we are guarded. And then Paul continues to say

  158. that we need to continue to pray in the Spirit.

  159. Let me read to you what Marishudad, Bishop of Hadatha

  160. writes and comments on this. According to Mauritius, Dad,

  161. prayer is spoken of in a three fold way.

  162. There are three ways we pray. First of the words that we

  163. utter, just like Hannah prayed with a mouth speaking in her

  164. heart, meaning she was miming in her heart, she's praying.

  165. She was just moving her lips and Eli the priest thought that she

  166. is drunk and she was praying for a child.

  167. And then we have Phinehas in Psalm chapter 106, verse 30,

    Psalms 106:30

  168. which was a prayer of an act of zeal.

  169. He got up and he prayed and he ended the plague.

  170. So there's two ways. There is the uttering of the

  171. heart and the lips and is there is the prayer where you have

  172. confidence and zeal that you stand up and you pray and you

  173. can perform through your prayer what you have intended to do.

  174. But it's the third one that Christ has command us commanded

  175. us to do is the prayer of the mind, that is that we pray and

  176. we understand what we are praying.

  177. When we pray, others must understand what we are praying.

  178. In One Corinthians chapter 14, verse 15, Saint Paul writes, I

  179. shall pray with my spirit and I shall pray also with my

  180. understanding, knowing what it is that we are asking for,

  181. knowing how we communicate with God the sovereign Father and his

  182. Son, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

  183. And Paul goes on to say, I shall sing with my spirit and I shall

  184. sing also with my understanding. See, sometimes we we fall in

  185. that trap. Where prayer is, you know, it's

  186. a little downplayed. It's just speaking to God.

  187. Yes, Amen. Prayer is speaking to God.

  188. Prayer is communicating with God.

  189. But we must remember that through prayer, and I've always

  190. mentioned this, is that we enter into the presence of God.

  191. So you just imagine Jesus Christ appearing to you.

  192. What happened to Saul on the way to Damascus?

  193. You just, you just put in your mind and imagine this for a

  194. second, that while you're praying, Jesus Christ appears to

  195. you. Are you going to be slumbered

  196. over your seat with the, you know, shaking of your foot and

  197. talking as though you're talking to your best friend or a

  198. neighbor or a family friend? Or you will be falling on your

  199. knees, bowing your head, striking your head on the ground

  200. because you are in the presence of your Lord and your Savior,

  201. Jesus Christ? So understanding when we pray

  202. what we are praying and how we do pray.

  203. And Mari Shuddat continues to say that that every one of them,

  204. what I just spoke about, the three ways of praying is also

  205. threefold, is bodily, mentally and spiritually.

  206. But as I mentioned, our Lord has delivered to us the last kind,

  207. the understanding to know what we are praying.

  208. And He told us that when we do pray that we pray not using vain

  209. repetitions. We don't need to mention Jesus

  210. name 35,000 times to cast out demons.

  211. We don't need to mention God's almighty sovereign way or name

  212. 15,000 times to accomplish what we want.

  213. Once when Simon said to the beggar silver and gold, I have

  214. none. But in the name of Jesus Christ,

  215. this is what I have. This is the authority.

  216. I have that by the name of Jesus Christ you may be healed once,

  217. because in the name of Jesus demons shudder.

  218. So there's no need to repeat and repeat.

  219. God's not death. Jesus is not death.

  220. Satan is not, you know, powerful to that point where you need to

  221. continue to inject and inject and inject the name of Jesus

  222. Christ. No, Satan is a weakling.

  223. Satan is basically nothing before Jesus Christ, beloved.

  224. He has crushed his head and he's given us that that authority to

  225. do so as well. So be careful when you pray.

  226. Use not vain repetitions as the heathens do, for they think that

  227. they shall be heard for things much speaking like through many

  228. words. Now yes, many people have have

  229. confronted me. Well why is it that we say the

  230. the Trisagi and Khadija Allah 3 times?

  231. Well, we say it once in honor of the Father and in honor of the

  232. Son and in honor of the Holy Spirit.

  233. Not that we don't have confidence that when we say it

  234. once we don't receive the blessing and the sanctification,

  235. No, and we're glorifying God. But when you repeat in vain

  236. words that possibly not even understand and know what the

  237. power of that word is, well, that's what Jesus is talking

  238. about. We are to pray in the Spirit and

  239. at all times, beloved, let our deep affections enter our

  240. prayer. You know before praying, and I

  241. always say this, when we end up a meeting with the youth or and

  242. I said, OK, let us close in prayer, there are people still

  243. continuing with their conversations and as soon as

  244. they finish a conversation they want to enter a prayer.

  245. No. There's got to be at least at

  246. least 5 seconds of preparedness to prepare yourself, to put

  247. yourself in that spiritually realm that we are now going to

  248. enter God's presence. And when we pray, beloved that

  249. way, that is when we do not give Satan not a foothold, not even a

  250. toehold. There is no place for Satan

  251. because it's already been preoccupied by the power and the

  252. majesty and the holiness of Jesus Christ.

  253. You do not know what to pray or how to pray.

  254. Some people ask you know what you know I have difficulties

  255. praying to the Lord. Well.

  256. Christ has given us a a model of prayer and you know it's it's

  257. it's heartbreaking that this prayer is sometimes frowned

  258. upon, lack of a better term. Like you know you don't know how

  259. to pray. You just pray the Lord's Prayer.

  260. Of course that's the Lord's prayer you just mentioned the

  261. Lord. You know you don't know what the

  262. Lord is. You don't know who the Lord is.

  263. If you're just going to take his prayer, just something that is

  264. so light and so easily taken. No.

  265. Christ taught us that in this manner we shall pray and say our

  266. Father in heaven, pray with me. Our Father in heaven, hallowed

  267. be your name, your Kingdom come, your will be done, as in heaven.

  268. So on earth. Give us the bread of our need

  269. this day, and forgive us our debts as we forgave our debtors,

  270. and bring us not into trial, but deliver us from evil.

  271. For yours is the Kingdom and power and glory forever and
