-
Last week, we talked about the Holy Spirit.
-
We talked about the three different types of baptisms in Scripture.
-
The first one is salvation. You are baptized into the body of Christ.
-
The second baptism is water baptism, where you have a public declaration of an interchange.
-
I believe you identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
-
And then the third baptism is the baptism in or with the Holy Spirit.
-
And so we see and we saw last week as well throughout scripture,
-
the three baptisms that take place.
-
Number one, you got to give your life to Jesus, get water baptized and allow
-
the Holy Spirit to baptize you so that you can be free to do whatever he calls you to do.
-
And so I want to piggyback on that today. We're going to talk about something
-
that you probably have not heard discussed in detail.
-
A lot of people are not talking about this today.
-
And so the Lord encouraged me to say, hey, take the next several weeks and talk about this.
-
So we're going to talk about one of the benefits of having the Holy Spirit in
-
our life, and that is praying in tongues.
-
We're going to get into that today.
-
Controversial. The devil don't want us to talk about it. There are a lot of
-
hindrances when you talk about this topic, but the Bible talks about it,
-
and we're going to talk about it as well. Mark chapter 16.
Mark 16 chapter mention
-
Meet me at verse 17. We'll read through to verse 18.
-
And Jesus said, these signs, somebody say signs, will follow those who believe.
-
How many believers do we have in the house or in the sound of my voice?
-
These sons, watch this, will follow them that believe in my name or in my authority,
-
they will cast out demons. You have every right to cast out demons.
-
They will speak with new tongues. Notice that.
-
They will take up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly,
-
it will by no means hurt them.
-
They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
-
What I want you to notice about what Jesus said there in verse 17,
-
he said, there will be visible displays of the signs of believers,
-
and one of the visible displays will be they will speak with new tongues.
-
So believers can speak in tongues.
-
Every believer can pray in a spiritual language. I want you to know that's not
-
what Devon said. That's what Jesus said.
-
Jesus said that believers will speak with tongues.
-
Now, if we look at what Paul said in Ephesians chapter 6, And meet me at verse
Ephesians 6 chapter mention
-
18, Ephesians chapter 6, verse 18.
-
This is after Paul talks about the armor of God, you know, the breastplate of
-
righteousness, the shield of faith, etc.
-
He says, praying always with all prayer. Somebody say all prayer and supplication.
-
Watch this three words here in the spirit.
-
Being watchful to the end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
-
So notice we're to pray always with all prayer.
-
That is part of our weaponry, to pray with all prayer.
-
And supplication simply means a humble, passionate, heartfelt,
-
specific entreaty of God for his favor in any situation.
-
When you are supplicating, you're asking for his divine favor humbly in a specific situation.
-
And here Paul tells us, but we are part of our weaponry is to pray with all prayer in the spirit.
-
Praying in the spirit and praying in tongues are synonymous and they are part of your armor.
-
Praying in the spirit and praying in tongues is part of your weaponry.
-
Now, let's look at 1 Corinthians chapter 14, and I want to read verses 2 through 5.
1 Corinthians 14 chapter mention
-
Paul tells us here, For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but
-
to God, for no one understands him.
-
However, in the Spirit, he speaks mysteries. Look at verse 3.
-
But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. Look at verse 4.
-
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
-
Notice here, Paul is contrasting speaking in tongues and prophesying.
-
Now, speaking in tongues, he said here in verse two, guys, if you don't put
-
that back on the screen for me.
-
He who speaks in the tongue does not speak to men, but to God,
-
for no one understands him.
-
Now, the word tongue here is simply defined as language.
-
It's a heavenly language. He who speaks in a tongue, a heavenly language,
-
does not talk to men, but talks to God.
-
So that tells me you can be sure that when you speak in tongues,
-
you are not talking to other people.
-
You are talking to God. You have divine spirit to spirit connection with the
-
father and you can communicate with him.
-
Scripture says they're mysteries or you can define that as divine secrets.
-
Do you know that you don't know everything? Did you know that that you don't
-
know everything? Did you know there's a lot that you don't know?
-
My mama used to say this all the time. There is so much that you don't know
-
you that can make a whole new world.
-
We can create a whole new world about all the stuff that you don't know.
-
Right. And so you don't know everything, but you have the capacity when you
-
have the Holy Spirit in you and on you to speak in a language that you don't know. But God knows.
-
Here's the other thing. Not only do you not know, the devil doesn't know.
-
What you're speaking. It's a divine.
-
Uninterrupted communication between you and God.
-
You can talk to him in a tongue.
-
Now prophecy is divine inspiration or encouragement. When you prophesy, that helps people.
-
I can get up here and prophesy, and that'll help you and encourage you.
-
It'll confirm some things in your life. But if I got up here and spoke to you
-
in a tongue, it becomes unbeneficial to you.
-
You have no idea what I'm saying. You probably think I'm crazy.
-
You're looking at me like I'm crazy because it is not advantageous for you for
-
me to get up here and speak in a tongue.
-
But when I am by myself, when I am in the shower, when I am driving the car,
-
when I am walking around, I am praying in tongues.
-
I am speaking a heavenly language to God.
-
Uninterrupted, divine connection between me and God. He understands what I'm saying.
-
The devil doesn't. I don't. But I'm talking to God. This is so very important
-
because simply we don't know everything. We don't have all the answers, but God does.
-
He knows everything about everything.
-
Whatever it is you don't know, he knows. If you want to build a birdhouse,
-
God knows how to build that birdhouse.
-
There was a particular time that we were having some issues with our live stream
-
And we could not get get it sounding right and man, I started praying in tongues.
-
What in the world is going on? It looked very simple.
-
We were doing everything that the manual told us to do.
-
We called the company We were doing it, but it wasn't sounding right and I began
-
to pray in tongues And I went on YouTube and just prayed in tongues Went on
-
YouTube and I found this video and the video had the title of the video had
-
nothing to do with what I'm looking for,
-
Nothing at all. I just sensed that the Holy Spirit said, click on the title.
-
I click on the title of the video. The man in 60 seconds told us what was wrong with our audio.
-
The title had nothing to do with it. I listened. I said, that's it.
-
We put it in, and it worked.
-
And Paul was asking, how did you know? I was just praying in tongues,
-
and I clicked this video. And that's what it was. Why?
-
Because God knew how to lead God and direct me when you pray in tongues.
-
Let's put it on the screen again. Verse two.
-
First Corinthians 14, verse two. For he who speaks in a tongue,
-
that's me. Say that's me.
-
Does not speak to men, but to God. You're talking to God.
-
For no one understands them. However, in the spirit. Somebody say in the spirit.
-
Now, here's what I want you to see. Keep it on the screen there, guys, for a second.
-
Here's what I want you to see. In Ephesians 6, it said, praying all prayers in the spirit.
-
Well, what is in the spirit? Paul tells us here, in the spirit,
-
it's talking to God in a tongue.
-
In the spirit, you are speaking mysteries, divine secrets.
-
You are speaking answers, solutions.
-
You are speaking things that are,
-
You don't even know that you need answers for Wisdom, knowledge and understanding
-
You're speaking that when you pray in tongues Look at verse 3,
-
I like it, he's contrasting here with prophecy He said if you prophesy,
-
you're going to speak edification,
-
exhortation and comfort to men But watch this in verse 4 but he who speaks in
-
the tongue edifies himself.
-
He who speaks in the tongue builds himself up.
-
He who speaks in the tongue or language, heavenly language that's unfamiliar
-
with your understanding will speak a heavenly language that will uplift himself.
-
One definition of the word edifies himself is the word erect,
-
like erect a building to build a building erect. Another one is to charge.
-
So Josh hand me that that white charger there if you don't mind sir.
-
This as you as we are all familiar with is a phone charger.
-
Every time I see a phone charger I have to charge my phone.
-
Every time I see one, like I see one in someone's house, I just charge my phone.
-
It may not even need charging. I just have to charge it. A charger makes me
-
want to charge the phone.
-
When I get in the car, every time I get in the car, I charge my phone.
-
Before I put my seatbelt on, I put my phone in the charger.
-
Before I do anything else, I charge that phone. One of my cars now has a little
-
place that you can put your phone and it charges by itself.
-
I don't think it works as well as these, but it charges.
-
I'm rarely in the car without charging my phone.
-
And here Paul says that when you pray in a tongue, you charge yourself.
-
Literally, you plug this in into your phone and it charges. Josh,
-
hand me my phone real quick, because you need a visible display.
-
You need a sign here. Thank you, sir.
-
Thank you. I'm going to charge my phone.
-
All right. So assuming this is plugged into the wall, I'm charging my phone.
-
Why am I charging my phone?
-
Because the battery is getting weak.
-
Why is the battery getting weak? Because it's being used.
-
So every time you pray in a tongue, you are charging your spirit because your spirit is getting weak.
-
And why is your spirit getting weak? Because it's being used.
-
Life is hard. I wish I could tell you it wasn't, but it is. Life is hard.
-
Stuff happens beyond our control.
-
Stuff takes place. The stuff we hear, the stuff we're feeling,
-
what we're reading about, family issues, physical issues, financial issues.
-
Stress, worry, concern.
-
The scripture says that there is a weak spirit and then there's a strong spirit.
-
And how is your spirit strong when you charge it?
-
And how do you charge it? You pray in tongues.
-
You simply just pray.
-
I want to I want to charge my spirit because I'm going through some things and
-
I've got to pray. And I just, Sheila, my Sunday, my mind has no idea what I'm saying.
-
You bypass your mind and you begin to just pray in the spirit.
-
Do you know that there are well over 7,000 known languages?
-
An uncountable, innumerable is a better word, amount of unknown languages.
-
There are dialects that we have yet to even figure out what language there is.
-
You mean to tell me that God can't give you a language that's specifically for you and him?
-
That you talk to him in a language that you are unfamiliar with and it's uncomfortable,
-
but it's actually charging your spirit.
-
You get stronger and stronger and stronger.
-
I was asked one time, well, how do you know you're actually praying in tongues
-
or speaking jibber-jab?
-
I said, that's a great question. You know how I know? Faith.
-
That's the only difference. I believe I'm praying in tongues because it's bypassing my understanding.
-
So I have faith and I'm praying in tongues.
-
And there is a point if you're praying in tongues long enough,
-
your mind will disconnect. And that's what you want to disconnect.
-
And you're just praying in tongues.
-
I'm driving down the road. I'm not loud. I'm not yelling.
-
I'm just under my breath, praying in tongues, going down the road.
-
Because I want this to be an indicator. Every time you get in the car,
-
you charge your phone. every time you get in the car you pray in tongues.
-
You pray in the spirit to charge up your spirit, man, because if you're not
-
in a battle now, you're about to be in a battle.
-
You are headed into a battle. And I need to be strong for that battle. Amen.
-
I need to have some. I need to be charged up for this battle.
-
And praying in tongues will edify you, will build you up, will charge you up like a battery.
-
But you, beloved, building yourselves up, watch this, on your most holy faith,
-
praying in the Holy Spirit.
-
How do we build ourselves up in our most holy faith?
-
We have to pray in the Spirit. We have to pray in tongues.
-
That's what builds us up. May I ask you this question?
-
Is it possible that you are losing a lot of battles because you're not building
-
yourself up spiritually?
-
It's very possible that you're losing some. I didn't say you lost a war,
-
but you lost some battles because you're not praying, building yourself up in the spirit.
-
This is something that I don't hear talked about much anymore because it became very controversial.
-
When people say, well, I don't I don't have the gift of tongues.
-
I'm going to talk about this later, but I'm going to touch on it now.
-
Well, you may not have the gift of tongues. There's a real gift of tongues.
-
You may not have the gift of tongues in operation because that's as the spirit wills.
-
And it's always accompanied with interpretation in a church setting.
-
That's called the gift of tongues.
-
Someone declares a tongue that's public. We have no idea what they're saying.
-
Someone else comes with the interpretation and explains what's being said.
-
That's the gift of tongues and interpretation.
-
And people say, well, I don't have the gift. And I say, yeah,
-
you're probably right. You don't have it because you don't need it right now.
-
But you do have the ability to pray with all prayer and pray in the Spirit.
-
You do have the opportunity because you have the Holy Spirit to release your
-
faith, open up your mouth, and have divine connection with God as Spirit-to-Spirit conversation.
-
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. And what did they do?
-
They begin to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
-
Let me break this down. This is the day of Pentecost. They were all filled with
-
the Holy Spirit. And the first thing the Holy Spirit does when he comes into
-
your life is he changes your language.
-
He changes the way you talk. He changes your language.
-
Jesus said that new believers will speak in tongues and they begin to speak
-
with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance.
-
I want you to notice the word speak and I want you to notice the word utterance.
-
The word speak means sounds and syllables, sounds and syllables.
-
The word utterance means expression or pronounced. What did I write down here?
-
Pronounce, pronunciation, expression, and speech.
-
So to speak means you're going to use your tongue to make sounds and syllables.
-
Utterance is expression and pronunciation and speech. So you're going to have
-
to open up your mouth and start speaking syllables that you don't know.
-
And when you do that, the Holy Spirit will come under you and give you the utterance
-
with pronunciation and expression and speech.
-
The Holy Spirit does not force your mouth open.
-
You open your mouth and you allow the Holy Spirit to give you the utterance
-
behind your speech There are a lot of people say well, I don't want I don't
-
want the Holy Spirit because that's the devil Well, listen,
-
I used to I used to be you know I spent some time in the world and I ain't never
-
seen nobody in the world praying tongues,
-
I've been to some bad places. They weren't praying in tongues.
-
You know, they were not praying in tongues.
-
They were like, look at here, look at our saved lady. Hey, young lady,
-
come over here. They was doing all that, but they weren't praying in tongues.
-
Well, that's the devil. All the devil places I've been, I ain't been to a lot,
-
by the way, but some that I've been to, ain't nobody was praying in tongues there.
-
Another one, another people, I don't pray because I might be in Walmart and
-
I might just spit out a tongue. That don't happen either.
-
I've been in Walmart. I ain't never heard that happen at all.
-
I just couldn't control myself. A tongue came out and I just couldn't help it.
-
Never happened because the Holy Spirit's not going to do that.
-
You have to yield to him and then he will come up under it and give you the pronunciation.
-
I remember Zavon's up here today, my 14 year old proud, proud son.
-
I remember he used to have four months, he used to say, hey, hey, hey.
-
And we're like, oh, wow, he did it early. Hey, he would see me and say, hey.
-
And then around six, seven months, he started saying, da-da.
-
And it was, da-da-da, da-da. I was like, oh, he's saying da-da.
-
And mom was upset because mom came a lot later. It was da-da.
-
Now it's all about mom, mom, mom, dad, dad, dad, dad.
-
And then I would look around and he'd be laying in the crib and he'd be like, dad, dad, dad, dad.
-
I'm not even in the room, dad, dad, dad, dad, dad. And I'm thinking,
-
well, he's not really calling me, but he is practicing the way I talk.
-
And he's saying what I say. He's learning to speak my language.
-
And I believe God the Father is pleased when we attempt to speak his language.
-
When we say, I want more of him, I want to go deeper. I'm tired of surface level
-
relationship. I'm tired of routine.
-
I'm tired of just the things the way they are. You can go deeper when you begin to pray in tongues.
-
There becomes on the inside of you, life giving rivers of water.
-
Revelation will begin to open up. You'll begin to see and know things happen
-
before it even happens because you're praying in tongues and God is telling
-
you later on what you're saying.
-
You're getting the answers before you even need the answers.
-
This is what praying in tongues does for you. And if you look here,
-
look at 1 Corinthians chapter 14, and we're going to go through verse 13 through 15.
1 Corinthians 14 chapter mention
-
Paul tells us here, therefore, let him who speaks in the tongue.
-
Somebody said, that's me.
-
Pray that he may interpret.
-
Sometimes when I'm praying in tongues, I'll, you know, she la masandele be shte kiata.
-
Lord, what did I just say? I may not get it right away. But later on,
-
Stacey asked me a question and I'll get the answer.
-
And and that's what it was. There's one question Stacy asked me one particular
-
time and she said this has always bothered me since since I was a child It was
-
a spiritual question and and what is it and I gave her an answer and she said oh.
-
That is the answer I've been looking for all my life. I never understood that.
-
She said, how did you get that?
-
I said, the Holy Ghost. That was not me. The Holy Spirit downloaded that answer
-
to give to you that answer, that question that you had all of your life.
-
Glory to God. That's what happens when you pray in tongues. So watch this.
-
Let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret.
-
Look at verse 14. for if I pray
-
in a tongue my spirit
-
prays but my understanding is
-
unfruitful let's pause there if I pray in the tongue what's praying my spirit
-
the Holy Spirit is not praying your spirit is praying and when you begin the
-
Holy Spirit will help you the Holy Spirit is a helper.
-
The Holy Spirit is not a doer. I heard somebody say, well, I don't pray in tongues
-
about you anymore because the Holy Spirit is doing it for me.
-
No, no, no, no, no. He's going to help you pray. He's there to assist.
-
And so if I pray in the tongue, my spirit is praying.
-
The Holy Spirit is going to help me with the utterance. But my understanding
-
is unfruitful. What does that mean? I have no idea what's going on.
-
I have no idea what I'm saying. I have no idea what's happening.
-
It may be even a little confusing to your mind. It may be like, what are we doing?
-
We're wasting time. Why are we speaking these syllables and sounds that don't
-
make sense? We're wasting time.
-
My understanding is unfruitful. But realize your spirit is being charged. It's being edified.
-
It's being built up. It's being uplifted because you're praying in the tongue. Now look at verse 15.
-
So what is the conclusion then?
-
I like this. If I pray with the spirit. I'm sorry. What is the conclusion then?
-
I will pray with the spirit and I will also pray with the understanding.
-
I will sing with the spirit and I will also sing with the understanding.
-
What is Paul telling us here? He said, here's the conclusion.
-
I will. Somebody shout, I will.
-
That means it's an act of your will.
-
It's not something that God's going to force upon you. It's not something he's
-
going to make you do. It's an act of your will.
-
I will pray with the Spirit. Say that.
-
I will pray with the Spirit. Say it again.
-
I will pray with the Spirit. I will pray with the Spirit. And watch this.
-
And I'm just not going to pray with the Spirit.
-
I'm also going to pray with the understanding.
-
So I'm going to pray in English in my native language, and I'm going to cross
-
over, and I'm going to pray in the Spirit.
-
And I'm going to pray in the Spirit, and I'm going to pray in English.
-
And I'm going to pray in English, and I'm going to pray in the Spirit.
-
And then he says, I will sing with the Spirit.
-
So we should be singing in the spirit. In corporate times of worship like this,
-
and the songs with the understanding on the word, it's good to sing those songs
-
with the understanding, but in your own spirit,
-
in your own place of singing, you should cross over.
-
Just in your own self. Now, you didn't take over the whole song.
-
I'm going to sing loud. I'm going to pray louder than Sierra.
-
No, no, no, no. I'm going to sing in the spirit.
-
When you are by yourself in the car, you begin to pray in the spirit.
-
If you pray long enough, you'll begin to start singing in the spirit.
-
And you'll sing in the spirit. And then you'll sing with the understanding.
-
And you'll pray in the spirit. And you'll pray in understanding.
-
But know that this is all by an act of your will.
-
You have to do
-
this God's not going to do it for you
-
The Holy Spirit's not going to do it for you You're going
-
to have to say I will pray
-
in the Spirit I will Somebody say I will I will I've got to get stronger I've
-
got to get stronger I need some wisdom here I've got to have some divine insight
-
Into what's going on in this situation I will pray in the spirit.
-
I've got to receive mysteries from heaven.
-
I will pray in the spirit. And then you cross over into the understanding.
-
Then I'll pray with the understanding.
-
I'll pray with what I know to pray. I'll pray with what I see happening,
-
but I'll go back and forth.
-
When somebody, a footnote, when someone's praying, let's say we do pre-service
-
prayer on Tuesday, we're going to do Zoom prayer.
-
And Jeannie will pray and she'll pray in the spirit and lead us.
-
And most of us, all of us have our mics muted, but don't just stand there and keep doing the dishes.
-
Well, we're going to let Jeannie pray. I'm going to just do the dishes.
-
I'm going to keep watching the cosmic show or whatever the case may be while
-
Jeannie's praying. No, you be praying too.
-
Hit that mute.
-
Or it may sound da-da-da-da-da-da-da. Whatever it is, as you keep practicing,
-
God's going to give you, through the Holy Spirit, more utterance as you keep
-
practicing with it and you pray with her.
-
Or when someone's up here in our pre-service prayer that we do and someone's
-
up here praying, you don't have to stand there and be quiet.
-
You can under your breath just begin to pray in the spirit.
-
They're praying, Father, we bless this service and we thank you. You can be,
-
What are we doing? We're in agreement that God's will, his mystery,
-
his plan would work in this house today. Somebody shout amen.
-
Now, watch this. I will means that you can do this at your will.
-
You can pray in the spirit and pray in English.
-
Look at First Corinthians 14, 39. I encourage you to read the entire chapter
-
of First Corinthians 14.
-
Next week we're going to talk about this too as well But
-
look at verse 39 Therefore brethren desire earnestly
-
to prophesy And do not
-
forbid to speak with tongues Paul's telling
-
us I encourage you To speak with tongues Don't forbid anyone to speak with tongues
-
I encourage you In 1 Corinthians 14 Put 5 on the screen there again guys please
-
1 Corinthians 14 verse 5 I want you to see it this way.
-
He says, I wish you all spoke with tongues. I want to pause there.
-
I wish you all spoke with tongues. What is he saying? I wish you all would have
-
the faith, the audacity, and the wherewithal to go deeper with God and speak in tongues.
-
I wish you all spoke with tongues. He's not saying there, well, some can and some can't.
-
The whole chapter is telling us we can't. He's saying, I wish you would.
-
I wish you would. I wish you all would pray in tongues.
-
And so verse 39, he tells us, encourage everyone to speak in tongues.
-
Desire earnestly to prophesy and do not forbid to speak with tongues.
-
My encouragement for you is to pray in tongues.
-
It's time that we go deeper in our relationship with them.
-
If you used to pray in tongues, pray, start back.
-
Start back. It's easy to get away from it. Start back.
-
Pray in tongues by yourself. Don't go to work. Hey, everybody.
-
They say, okay, can we bless the food?
-
No, no, no, no. That's weird. That's weird. Just bless the food in English, but by yourself,
-
Pray in tongues. Strengthen yourself. A strong spirit of a man will sustain him.
-
Glory to God. Say, I will. I will. Pray in the spirit. Pray in the spirit.
-
Praying in the spirit is a benefit, an advantage that God has for you.
-
It is an opportunity for you to divinely connect with him, bypassing all of
-
your understanding, all of your adversaries, all of your obstacles and your opponents.
-
When you just take the time and be bold enough to pray in the spirit.
-
Let's look at this verse here in Luke chapter nine. Be my last verse.
-
Let's look. I'm sorry. Luke chapter 11, verse nine through 13.
Luke 11 chapter mention
-
Let me read this to you Jesus says so I say to you ask And it will be given
-
to you Seek and you will find Knock and it will be Open to you.
-
For everyone, that includes me, who asks, receives.
-
And he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
-
If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone?
-
Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead?
-
That's a terrible father.
-
Look at verse 12. Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
-
That dad, something needs to happen to that dad.
-
But look at verse 13. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,
-
how much more will your heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?
-
How much more? Josh, bring me those shoes right there. If you don't mind,
-
just bring me one shoe, please, sir.
-
I don't use a lot of illustrations, but I do want to use this illustration today. Thank you, sir.
-
This is a Jordan shoe. I believe it's the 11. It is. Thank you. The Jordan 11.
-
CMFT or something like that? CFT or something?
-
There you go. Shout out. What is it?
-
There you go. Whatever he said. That's what it is. Okay.
-
And as you can see, this shoe is it's it's really nice. It's very comfortable.
-
It comes with a sole got a little patent leather here. Comes with some sturdy,
-
heavy duty shoestrings.
-
It's a it's a really nice shoe. I don't wear it as often, but in certain outfits,
-
it goes very well with. I like this shoe.
-
Let's say this shoe is the Holy Spirit.
-
And the Holy Spirit comes with wisdom. He's a comforter. He's an advocate, a standby, a guide.
-
This shoe also comes with this thing right here. What is this called?
-
The tongue. The shoe comes with the tongue.
-
I've never heard anyone ask for a shoe without the tongue. Give me that shoe without the tongue.
-
I've never heard that before.
-
They want the tongue to come with the shoe.
-
You asking for the Holy Spirit without the
-
tongue is like asking for this shoe without the tongue the Holy Spirit comes
-
with the tongue he comes with it and so when he's in your life he also has the
-
tongue and he brings all of him,
-
And it's your responsibility to benefit for everything that he's given to you.
-
It's your responsibility.
-
He comes with the tongue. Why do you want the Holy Spirit without the tongue?
-
Let me ask you, if you don't pray in tongues, why? You have the Holy Spirit.
-
You can't pray in tongues without the Holy Spirit. Why do you not pray in tongues
-
Why do you want the Holy Spirit Without the tongue It's a benefit to you And
-
the Lord Jesus said He wouldn't Make you wait for it You don't have to tarry You can just start.
-
Praying in tongues, opening up your mouth, using sounds and syllables in an
-
attempt to pray in the spirit and watch the Holy Spirit jump on that.
-
And you'll sense it. You'll know. I like to say this way. There comes my help.
-
I can just I sense my help kicked in.
-
And now that I pray in tongues a lot more, my help kicks in a lot faster.
-
When I first got going, it took a minute for my help to kick in,
-
but your help will kick in, and you'll begin to just pray, and you'll begin
-
to have glorious fellowship with him.
-
In 1 Corinthians 14, 17, it says that you actually thank God well when you pray in the Spirit.
-
You thank him well when you open up your mouth and you pray in tongues.
-
I want to encourage you to be bold and go deeper Some of you may have not heard
-
this teaching before Some of you may think it's weird and crazy And truthfully,
-
I think it's one of the weirdest things we do believe I do, I think praying
-
in tongues It's kind of weird when I'm praying in tongues But I bypass my understanding.
-
And I tap into the Spirit And I connect Spirit to Spirit with Him And I'm believing
-
by faith that I'm getting charged up.
-
I'm getting built up. And if you never have, I want to encourage you.
-
I'm going to pray for you today.
-
But here's the first time I prayed. I was in a church. It was a large church.
-
Hundreds, if not thousands of people were there. And the pastor's wife got up
-
and talked about praying in tongues and said, go home.
-
And in your quiet time, say, Lord, I just want all of you.
-
I just don't want a little bit or what I understand I want all.
-
I want all of you. And I said, I did. I went to my room and I said, Lord, I want all of you.
-
And I began to step out in faith and I began to say sounds and syllables that just didn't make sense.
-
And when I did that, I kept going, I kept going. And a couple of minutes later,
-
I had tears coming down my eyes.
-
The presence of the Lord filled that room.
-
And I began to understand that the utterance begin to come.
-
I'm not waiting for something to happen. He's not going to force anything.
-
I have to yield my members to him, my mouth, and allow him to use me to pray
-
through me his perfect plan and his perfect will for my life.
-
Why would you want this Jordan without the tongue?
-
Why would you want the Holy Spirit without the ability to pray in tongues?
-
This is how you experience true life.
