  1. Last week, we talked about the Holy Spirit.

  2. We talked about the three different types of baptisms in Scripture.

  3. The first one is salvation. You are baptized into the body of Christ.

  4. The second baptism is water baptism, where you have a public declaration of an interchange.

  5. I believe you identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  6. And then the third baptism is the baptism in or with the Holy Spirit.

  7. And so we see and we saw last week as well throughout scripture,

  8. the three baptisms that take place.

  9. Number one, you got to give your life to Jesus, get water baptized and allow

  10. the Holy Spirit to baptize you so that you can be free to do whatever he calls you to do.

  11. And so I want to piggyback on that today. We're going to talk about something

  12. that you probably have not heard discussed in detail.

  13. A lot of people are not talking about this today.

  14. And so the Lord encouraged me to say, hey, take the next several weeks and talk about this.

  15. So we're going to talk about one of the benefits of having the Holy Spirit in

  16. our life, and that is praying in tongues.

  17. We're going to get into that today.

  18. Controversial. The devil don't want us to talk about it. There are a lot of

  19. hindrances when you talk about this topic, but the Bible talks about it,

  20. and we're going to talk about it as well. Mark chapter 16.

    Mark 16 chapter mention

  21. Meet me at verse 17. We'll read through to verse 18.

  22. And Jesus said, these signs, somebody say signs, will follow those who believe.

  23. How many believers do we have in the house or in the sound of my voice?

  24. These sons, watch this, will follow them that believe in my name or in my authority,

  25. they will cast out demons. You have every right to cast out demons.

  26. They will speak with new tongues. Notice that.

  27. They will take up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly,

  28. it will by no means hurt them.

  29. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.

  30. What I want you to notice about what Jesus said there in verse 17,

  31. he said, there will be visible displays of the signs of believers,

  32. and one of the visible displays will be they will speak with new tongues.

  33. So believers can speak in tongues.

  34. Every believer can pray in a spiritual language. I want you to know that's not

  35. what Devon said. That's what Jesus said.

  36. Jesus said that believers will speak with tongues.

  37. Now, if we look at what Paul said in Ephesians chapter 6, And meet me at verse

    Ephesians 6 chapter mention

  38. 18, Ephesians chapter 6, verse 18.

    Ephesians 6:18

  39. This is after Paul talks about the armor of God, you know, the breastplate of

  40. righteousness, the shield of faith, etc.

  41. He says, praying always with all prayer. Somebody say all prayer and supplication.

  42. Watch this three words here in the spirit.

  43. Being watchful to the end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

  44. So notice we're to pray always with all prayer.

  45. That is part of our weaponry, to pray with all prayer.

  46. And supplication simply means a humble, passionate, heartfelt,

  47. specific entreaty of God for his favor in any situation.

  48. When you are supplicating, you're asking for his divine favor humbly in a specific situation.

  49. And here Paul tells us, but we are part of our weaponry is to pray with all prayer in the spirit.

  50. Praying in the spirit and praying in tongues are synonymous and they are part of your armor.

  51. Praying in the spirit and praying in tongues is part of your weaponry.

  52. Now, let's look at 1 Corinthians chapter 14, and I want to read verses 2 through 5.

    1 Corinthians 14 chapter mention

  53. Paul tells us here, For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but

  54. to God, for no one understands him.

  55. However, in the Spirit, he speaks mysteries. Look at verse 3.

  56. But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. Look at verse 4.

  57. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.

  58. Notice here, Paul is contrasting speaking in tongues and prophesying.

  59. Now, speaking in tongues, he said here in verse two, guys, if you don't put

  60. that back on the screen for me.

  61. He who speaks in the tongue does not speak to men, but to God,

  62. for no one understands him.

  63. Now, the word tongue here is simply defined as language.

  64. It's a heavenly language. He who speaks in a tongue, a heavenly language,

  65. does not talk to men, but talks to God.

  66. So that tells me you can be sure that when you speak in tongues,

  67. you are not talking to other people.

  68. You are talking to God. You have divine spirit to spirit connection with the

  69. father and you can communicate with him.

  70. Scripture says they're mysteries or you can define that as divine secrets.

  71. Do you know that you don't know everything? Did you know that that you don't

  72. know everything? Did you know there's a lot that you don't know?

  73. My mama used to say this all the time. There is so much that you don't know

  74. you that can make a whole new world.

  75. We can create a whole new world about all the stuff that you don't know.

  76. Right. And so you don't know everything, but you have the capacity when you

  77. have the Holy Spirit in you and on you to speak in a language that you don't know. But God knows.

  78. Here's the other thing. Not only do you not know, the devil doesn't know.

  79. What you're speaking. It's a divine.

  80. Uninterrupted communication between you and God.

  81. You can talk to him in a tongue.

  82. Now prophecy is divine inspiration or encouragement. When you prophesy, that helps people.

  83. I can get up here and prophesy, and that'll help you and encourage you.

  84. It'll confirm some things in your life. But if I got up here and spoke to you

  85. in a tongue, it becomes unbeneficial to you.

  86. You have no idea what I'm saying. You probably think I'm crazy.

  87. You're looking at me like I'm crazy because it is not advantageous for you for

  88. me to get up here and speak in a tongue.

  89. But when I am by myself, when I am in the shower, when I am driving the car,

  90. when I am walking around, I am praying in tongues.

  91. I am speaking a heavenly language to God.

  92. Uninterrupted, divine connection between me and God. He understands what I'm saying.

  93. The devil doesn't. I don't. But I'm talking to God. This is so very important

  94. because simply we don't know everything. We don't have all the answers, but God does.

  95. He knows everything about everything.

  96. Whatever it is you don't know, he knows. If you want to build a birdhouse,

  97. God knows how to build that birdhouse.

  98. There was a particular time that we were having some issues with our live stream

  99. And we could not get get it sounding right and man, I started praying in tongues.

  100. What in the world is going on? It looked very simple.

  101. We were doing everything that the manual told us to do.

  102. We called the company We were doing it, but it wasn't sounding right and I began

  103. to pray in tongues And I went on YouTube and just prayed in tongues Went on

  104. YouTube and I found this video and the video had the title of the video had

  105. nothing to do with what I'm looking for,

  106. Nothing at all. I just sensed that the Holy Spirit said, click on the title.

  107. I click on the title of the video. The man in 60 seconds told us what was wrong with our audio.

  108. The title had nothing to do with it. I listened. I said, that's it.

  109. We put it in, and it worked.

  110. And Paul was asking, how did you know? I was just praying in tongues,

  111. and I clicked this video. And that's what it was. Why?

  112. Because God knew how to lead God and direct me when you pray in tongues.

  113. Let's put it on the screen again. Verse two.

  114. First Corinthians 14, verse two. For he who speaks in a tongue,

  115. that's me. Say that's me.

  116. Does not speak to men, but to God. You're talking to God.

  117. For no one understands them. However, in the spirit. Somebody say in the spirit.

  118. Now, here's what I want you to see. Keep it on the screen there, guys, for a second.

  119. Here's what I want you to see. In Ephesians 6, it said, praying all prayers in the spirit.

  120. Well, what is in the spirit? Paul tells us here, in the spirit,

  121. it's talking to God in a tongue.

  122. In the spirit, you are speaking mysteries, divine secrets.

  123. You are speaking answers, solutions.

  124. You are speaking things that are,

  125. You don't even know that you need answers for Wisdom, knowledge and understanding

  126. You're speaking that when you pray in tongues Look at verse 3,

  127. I like it, he's contrasting here with prophecy He said if you prophesy,

  128. you're going to speak edification,

  129. exhortation and comfort to men But watch this in verse 4 but he who speaks in

  130. the tongue edifies himself.

  131. He who speaks in the tongue builds himself up.

  132. He who speaks in the tongue or language, heavenly language that's unfamiliar

  133. with your understanding will speak a heavenly language that will uplift himself.

  134. One definition of the word edifies himself is the word erect,

  135. like erect a building to build a building erect. Another one is to charge.

  136. So Josh hand me that that white charger there if you don't mind sir.

  137. This as you as we are all familiar with is a phone charger.

  138. Every time I see a phone charger I have to charge my phone.

  139. Every time I see one, like I see one in someone's house, I just charge my phone.

  140. It may not even need charging. I just have to charge it. A charger makes me

  141. want to charge the phone.

  142. When I get in the car, every time I get in the car, I charge my phone.

  143. Before I put my seatbelt on, I put my phone in the charger.

  144. Before I do anything else, I charge that phone. One of my cars now has a little

  145. place that you can put your phone and it charges by itself.

  146. I don't think it works as well as these, but it charges.

  147. I'm rarely in the car without charging my phone.

  148. And here Paul says that when you pray in a tongue, you charge yourself.

  149. Literally, you plug this in into your phone and it charges. Josh,

  150. hand me my phone real quick, because you need a visible display.

  151. You need a sign here. Thank you, sir.

  152. Thank you. I'm going to charge my phone.

  153. All right. So assuming this is plugged into the wall, I'm charging my phone.

  154. Why am I charging my phone?

  155. Because the battery is getting weak.

  156. Why is the battery getting weak? Because it's being used.

  157. So every time you pray in a tongue, you are charging your spirit because your spirit is getting weak.

  158. And why is your spirit getting weak? Because it's being used.

  159. Life is hard. I wish I could tell you it wasn't, but it is. Life is hard.

  160. Stuff happens beyond our control.

  161. Stuff takes place. The stuff we hear, the stuff we're feeling,

  162. what we're reading about, family issues, physical issues, financial issues.

  163. Stress, worry, concern.

  164. The scripture says that there is a weak spirit and then there's a strong spirit.

  165. And how is your spirit strong when you charge it?

  166. And how do you charge it? You pray in tongues.

  167. You simply just pray.

  168. I want to I want to charge my spirit because I'm going through some things and

  169. I've got to pray. And I just, Sheila, my Sunday, my mind has no idea what I'm saying.

  170. You bypass your mind and you begin to just pray in the spirit.

  171. Do you know that there are well over 7,000 known languages?

  172. An uncountable, innumerable is a better word, amount of unknown languages.

  173. There are dialects that we have yet to even figure out what language there is.

  174. You mean to tell me that God can't give you a language that's specifically for you and him?

  175. That you talk to him in a language that you are unfamiliar with and it's uncomfortable,

  176. but it's actually charging your spirit.

  177. You get stronger and stronger and stronger.

  178. I was asked one time, well, how do you know you're actually praying in tongues

  179. or speaking jibber-jab?

  180. I said, that's a great question. You know how I know? Faith.

  181. That's the only difference. I believe I'm praying in tongues because it's bypassing my understanding.

  182. So I have faith and I'm praying in tongues.

  183. And there is a point if you're praying in tongues long enough,

  184. your mind will disconnect. And that's what you want to disconnect.

  185. And you're just praying in tongues.

  186. I'm driving down the road. I'm not loud. I'm not yelling.

  187. I'm just under my breath, praying in tongues, going down the road.

  188. Because I want this to be an indicator. Every time you get in the car,

  189. you charge your phone. every time you get in the car you pray in tongues.

  190. You pray in the spirit to charge up your spirit, man, because if you're not

  191. in a battle now, you're about to be in a battle.

  192. You are headed into a battle. And I need to be strong for that battle. Amen.

  193. I need to have some. I need to be charged up for this battle.

  194. And praying in tongues will edify you, will build you up, will charge you up like a battery.

  195. It will uplift you. In Jude chapter 1 verse 20, take a look at this. Jude chapter 1 verse 20.

    Jude 1:20 Jude 1:20

  196. But you, beloved, building yourselves up, watch this, on your most holy faith,

  197. praying in the Holy Spirit.

  198. How do we build ourselves up in our most holy faith?

  199. We have to pray in the Spirit. We have to pray in tongues.

  200. That's what builds us up. May I ask you this question?

  201. Is it possible that you are losing a lot of battles because you're not building

  202. yourself up spiritually?

  203. It's very possible that you're losing some. I didn't say you lost a war,

  204. but you lost some battles because you're not praying, building yourself up in the spirit.

  205. This is something that I don't hear talked about much anymore because it became very controversial.

  206. When people say, well, I don't I don't have the gift of tongues.

  207. I'm going to talk about this later, but I'm going to touch on it now.

  208. Well, you may not have the gift of tongues. There's a real gift of tongues.

  209. You may not have the gift of tongues in operation because that's as the spirit wills.

  210. And it's always accompanied with interpretation in a church setting.

  211. That's called the gift of tongues.

  212. Someone declares a tongue that's public. We have no idea what they're saying.

  213. Someone else comes with the interpretation and explains what's being said.

  214. That's the gift of tongues and interpretation.

  215. And people say, well, I don't have the gift. And I say, yeah,

  216. you're probably right. You don't have it because you don't need it right now.

  217. But you do have the ability to pray with all prayer and pray in the Spirit.

  218. You do have the opportunity because you have the Holy Spirit to release your

  219. faith, open up your mouth, and have divine connection with God as Spirit-to-Spirit conversation.

  220. Acts chapter 2, verse 4. Acts chapter 2, verse 4.

    Acts 2:4 Acts 2:4

  221. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. And what did they do?

  222. They begin to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

  223. Let me break this down. This is the day of Pentecost. They were all filled with

  224. the Holy Spirit. And the first thing the Holy Spirit does when he comes into

  225. your life is he changes your language.

  226. He changes the way you talk. He changes your language.

  227. Jesus said that new believers will speak in tongues and they begin to speak

  228. with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance.

  229. I want you to notice the word speak and I want you to notice the word utterance.

  230. The word speak means sounds and syllables, sounds and syllables.

  231. The word utterance means expression or pronounced. What did I write down here?

  232. Pronounce, pronunciation, expression, and speech.

  233. So to speak means you're going to use your tongue to make sounds and syllables.

  234. Utterance is expression and pronunciation and speech. So you're going to have

  235. to open up your mouth and start speaking syllables that you don't know.

  236. And when you do that, the Holy Spirit will come under you and give you the utterance

  237. with pronunciation and expression and speech.

  238. The Holy Spirit does not force your mouth open.

  239. You open your mouth and you allow the Holy Spirit to give you the utterance

  240. behind your speech There are a lot of people say well, I don't want I don't

  241. want the Holy Spirit because that's the devil Well, listen,

  242. I used to I used to be you know I spent some time in the world and I ain't never

  243. seen nobody in the world praying tongues,

  244. I've been to some bad places. They weren't praying in tongues.

  245. You know, they were not praying in tongues.

  246. They were like, look at here, look at our saved lady. Hey, young lady,

  247. come over here. They was doing all that, but they weren't praying in tongues.

  248. Well, that's the devil. All the devil places I've been, I ain't been to a lot,

  249. by the way, but some that I've been to, ain't nobody was praying in tongues there.

  250. Another one, another people, I don't pray because I might be in Walmart and

  251. I might just spit out a tongue. That don't happen either.

  252. I've been in Walmart. I ain't never heard that happen at all.

  253. I just couldn't control myself. A tongue came out and I just couldn't help it.

  254. Never happened because the Holy Spirit's not going to do that.

  255. You have to yield to him and then he will come up under it and give you the pronunciation.

  256. I remember Zavon's up here today, my 14 year old proud, proud son.

  257. I remember he used to have four months, he used to say, hey, hey, hey.

  258. And we're like, oh, wow, he did it early. Hey, he would see me and say, hey.

  259. And then around six, seven months, he started saying, da-da.

  260. And it was, da-da-da, da-da. I was like, oh, he's saying da-da.

  261. And mom was upset because mom came a lot later. It was da-da.

  262. Now it's all about mom, mom, mom, dad, dad, dad, dad.

  263. And then I would look around and he'd be laying in the crib and he'd be like, dad, dad, dad, dad.

  264. I'm not even in the room, dad, dad, dad, dad, dad. And I'm thinking,

  265. well, he's not really calling me, but he is practicing the way I talk.

  266. And he's saying what I say. He's learning to speak my language.

  267. And I believe God the Father is pleased when we attempt to speak his language.

  268. When we say, I want more of him, I want to go deeper. I'm tired of surface level

  269. relationship. I'm tired of routine.

  270. I'm tired of just the things the way they are. You can go deeper when you begin to pray in tongues.

  271. There becomes on the inside of you, life giving rivers of water.

  272. Revelation will begin to open up. You'll begin to see and know things happen

  273. before it even happens because you're praying in tongues and God is telling

  274. you later on what you're saying.

  275. You're getting the answers before you even need the answers.

  276. This is what praying in tongues does for you. And if you look here,

  277. look at 1 Corinthians chapter 14, and we're going to go through verse 13 through 15.

    1 Corinthians 14 chapter mention

  278. Paul tells us here, therefore, let him who speaks in the tongue.

  279. Somebody said, that's me.

  280. Pray that he may interpret.

  281. Sometimes when I'm praying in tongues, I'll, you know, she la masandele be shte kiata.

  282. Lord, what did I just say? I may not get it right away. But later on,

  283. Stacey asked me a question and I'll get the answer.

  284. And and that's what it was. There's one question Stacy asked me one particular

  285. time and she said this has always bothered me since since I was a child It was

  286. a spiritual question and and what is it and I gave her an answer and she said oh.

  287. That is the answer I've been looking for all my life. I never understood that.

  288. She said, how did you get that?

  289. I said, the Holy Ghost. That was not me. The Holy Spirit downloaded that answer

  290. to give to you that answer, that question that you had all of your life.

  291. Glory to God. That's what happens when you pray in tongues. So watch this.

  292. Let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret.

  293. Look at verse 14. for if I pray

  294. in a tongue my spirit

  295. prays but my understanding is

  296. unfruitful let's pause there if I pray in the tongue what's praying my spirit

  297. the Holy Spirit is not praying your spirit is praying and when you begin the

  298. Holy Spirit will help you the Holy Spirit is a helper.

  299. The Holy Spirit is not a doer. I heard somebody say, well, I don't pray in tongues

  300. about you anymore because the Holy Spirit is doing it for me.

  301. No, no, no, no, no. He's going to help you pray. He's there to assist.

  302. And so if I pray in the tongue, my spirit is praying.

  303. The Holy Spirit is going to help me with the utterance. But my understanding

  304. is unfruitful. What does that mean? I have no idea what's going on.

  305. I have no idea what I'm saying. I have no idea what's happening.

  306. It may be even a little confusing to your mind. It may be like, what are we doing?

  307. We're wasting time. Why are we speaking these syllables and sounds that don't

  308. make sense? We're wasting time.

  309. My understanding is unfruitful. But realize your spirit is being charged. It's being edified.

  310. It's being built up. It's being uplifted because you're praying in the tongue. Now look at verse 15.

  311. So what is the conclusion then?

  312. I like this. If I pray with the spirit. I'm sorry. What is the conclusion then?

  313. I will pray with the spirit and I will also pray with the understanding.

  314. I will sing with the spirit and I will also sing with the understanding.

  315. What is Paul telling us here? He said, here's the conclusion.

  316. I will. Somebody shout, I will.

  317. That means it's an act of your will.

  318. It's not something that God's going to force upon you. It's not something he's

  319. going to make you do. It's an act of your will.

  320. I will pray with the Spirit. Say that.

  321. I will pray with the Spirit. Say it again.

  322. I will pray with the Spirit. I will pray with the Spirit. And watch this.

  323. And I'm just not going to pray with the Spirit.

  324. I'm also going to pray with the understanding.

  325. So I'm going to pray in English in my native language, and I'm going to cross

  326. over, and I'm going to pray in the Spirit.

  327. And I'm going to pray in the Spirit, and I'm going to pray in English.

  328. And I'm going to pray in English, and I'm going to pray in the Spirit.

  329. And then he says, I will sing with the Spirit.

  330. So we should be singing in the spirit. In corporate times of worship like this,

  331. and the songs with the understanding on the word, it's good to sing those songs

  332. with the understanding, but in your own spirit,

  333. in your own place of singing, you should cross over.

  334. Just in your own self. Now, you didn't take over the whole song.

  335. I'm going to sing loud. I'm going to pray louder than Sierra.

  336. No, no, no, no. I'm going to sing in the spirit.

  337. When you are by yourself in the car, you begin to pray in the spirit.

  338. If you pray long enough, you'll begin to start singing in the spirit.

  339. And you'll sing in the spirit. And then you'll sing with the understanding.

  340. And you'll pray in the spirit. And you'll pray in understanding.

  341. But know that this is all by an act of your will.

  342. You have to do

  343. this God's not going to do it for you

  344. The Holy Spirit's not going to do it for you You're going

  345. to have to say I will pray

  346. in the Spirit I will Somebody say I will I will I've got to get stronger I've

  347. got to get stronger I need some wisdom here I've got to have some divine insight

  348. Into what's going on in this situation I will pray in the spirit.

  349. I've got to receive mysteries from heaven.

  350. I will pray in the spirit. And then you cross over into the understanding.

  351. Then I'll pray with the understanding.

  352. I'll pray with what I know to pray. I'll pray with what I see happening,

  353. but I'll go back and forth.

  354. When somebody, a footnote, when someone's praying, let's say we do pre-service

  355. prayer on Tuesday, we're going to do Zoom prayer.

  356. And Jeannie will pray and she'll pray in the spirit and lead us.

  357. And most of us, all of us have our mics muted, but don't just stand there and keep doing the dishes.

  358. Well, we're going to let Jeannie pray. I'm going to just do the dishes.

  359. I'm going to keep watching the cosmic show or whatever the case may be while

  360. Jeannie's praying. No, you be praying too.

  361. Hit that mute.

  362. Or it may sound da-da-da-da-da-da-da. Whatever it is, as you keep practicing,

  363. God's going to give you, through the Holy Spirit, more utterance as you keep

  364. practicing with it and you pray with her.

  365. Or when someone's up here in our pre-service prayer that we do and someone's

  366. up here praying, you don't have to stand there and be quiet.

  367. You can under your breath just begin to pray in the spirit.

  368. They're praying, Father, we bless this service and we thank you. You can be,

  369. What are we doing? We're in agreement that God's will, his mystery,

  370. his plan would work in this house today. Somebody shout amen.

  371. Now, watch this. I will means that you can do this at your will.

  372. You can pray in the spirit and pray in English.

  373. Look at First Corinthians 14, 39. I encourage you to read the entire chapter

  374. of First Corinthians 14.

  375. Next week we're going to talk about this too as well But

  376. look at verse 39 Therefore brethren desire earnestly

  377. to prophesy And do not

  378. forbid to speak with tongues Paul's telling

  379. us I encourage you To speak with tongues Don't forbid anyone to speak with tongues

  380. I encourage you In 1 Corinthians 14 Put 5 on the screen there again guys please

  381. 1 Corinthians 14 verse 5 I want you to see it this way.

    1 Corinthians 14:5

  382. He says, I wish you all spoke with tongues. I want to pause there.

  383. I wish you all spoke with tongues. What is he saying? I wish you all would have

  384. the faith, the audacity, and the wherewithal to go deeper with God and speak in tongues.

  385. I wish you all spoke with tongues. He's not saying there, well, some can and some can't.

  386. The whole chapter is telling us we can't. He's saying, I wish you would.

  387. I wish you would. I wish you all would pray in tongues.

  388. And so verse 39, he tells us, encourage everyone to speak in tongues.

  389. Desire earnestly to prophesy and do not forbid to speak with tongues.

  390. My encouragement for you is to pray in tongues.

  391. It's time that we go deeper in our relationship with them.

  392. If you used to pray in tongues, pray, start back.

  393. Start back. It's easy to get away from it. Start back.

  394. Pray in tongues by yourself. Don't go to work. Hey, everybody.

  395. They say, okay, can we bless the food?

  396. No, no, no, no. That's weird. That's weird. Just bless the food in English, but by yourself,

  397. Pray in tongues. Strengthen yourself. A strong spirit of a man will sustain him.

  398. Glory to God. Say, I will. I will. Pray in the spirit. Pray in the spirit.

  399. Praying in the spirit is a benefit, an advantage that God has for you.

  400. It is an opportunity for you to divinely connect with him, bypassing all of

  401. your understanding, all of your adversaries, all of your obstacles and your opponents.

  402. When you just take the time and be bold enough to pray in the spirit.

  403. Let's look at this verse here in Luke chapter nine. Be my last verse.

  404. Let's look. I'm sorry. Luke chapter 11, verse nine through 13.

    Luke 11 chapter mention

  405. Let me read this to you Jesus says so I say to you ask And it will be given

  406. to you Seek and you will find Knock and it will be Open to you.

  407. For everyone, that includes me, who asks, receives.

  408. And he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

  409. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone?

  410. Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead?

  411. That's a terrible father.

  412. Look at verse 12. Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

  413. That dad, something needs to happen to that dad.

  414. But look at verse 13. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,

  415. how much more will your heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?

  416. How much more? Josh, bring me those shoes right there. If you don't mind,

  417. just bring me one shoe, please, sir.

  418. I don't use a lot of illustrations, but I do want to use this illustration today. Thank you, sir.

  419. This is a Jordan shoe. I believe it's the 11. It is. Thank you. The Jordan 11.

  420. CMFT or something like that? CFT or something?

  421. There you go. Shout out. What is it?

  422. There you go. Whatever he said. That's what it is. Okay.

  423. And as you can see, this shoe is it's it's really nice. It's very comfortable.

  424. It comes with a sole got a little patent leather here. Comes with some sturdy,

  425. heavy duty shoestrings.

  426. It's a it's a really nice shoe. I don't wear it as often, but in certain outfits,

  427. it goes very well with. I like this shoe.

  428. Let's say this shoe is the Holy Spirit.

  429. And the Holy Spirit comes with wisdom. He's a comforter. He's an advocate, a standby, a guide.

  430. This shoe also comes with this thing right here. What is this called?

  431. The tongue. The shoe comes with the tongue.

  432. I've never heard anyone ask for a shoe without the tongue. Give me that shoe without the tongue.

  433. I've never heard that before.

  434. They want the tongue to come with the shoe.

  435. You asking for the Holy Spirit without the

  436. tongue is like asking for this shoe without the tongue the Holy Spirit comes

  437. with the tongue he comes with it and so when he's in your life he also has the

  438. tongue and he brings all of him,

  439. And it's your responsibility to benefit for everything that he's given to you.

  440. It's your responsibility.

  441. He comes with the tongue. Why do you want the Holy Spirit without the tongue?

  442. Let me ask you, if you don't pray in tongues, why? You have the Holy Spirit.

  443. You can't pray in tongues without the Holy Spirit. Why do you not pray in tongues

  444. Why do you want the Holy Spirit Without the tongue It's a benefit to you And

  445. the Lord Jesus said He wouldn't Make you wait for it You don't have to tarry You can just start.

  446. Praying in tongues, opening up your mouth, using sounds and syllables in an

  447. attempt to pray in the spirit and watch the Holy Spirit jump on that.

  448. And you'll sense it. You'll know. I like to say this way. There comes my help.

  449. I can just I sense my help kicked in.

  450. And now that I pray in tongues a lot more, my help kicks in a lot faster.

  451. When I first got going, it took a minute for my help to kick in,

  452. but your help will kick in, and you'll begin to just pray, and you'll begin

  453. to have glorious fellowship with him.

  454. In 1 Corinthians 14, 17, it says that you actually thank God well when you pray in the Spirit.

  455. You thank him well when you open up your mouth and you pray in tongues.

  456. I want to encourage you to be bold and go deeper Some of you may have not heard

  457. this teaching before Some of you may think it's weird and crazy And truthfully,

  458. I think it's one of the weirdest things we do believe I do, I think praying

  459. in tongues It's kind of weird when I'm praying in tongues But I bypass my understanding.

  460. And I tap into the Spirit And I connect Spirit to Spirit with Him And I'm believing

  461. by faith that I'm getting charged up.

  462. I'm getting built up. And if you never have, I want to encourage you.

  463. I'm going to pray for you today.

  464. But here's the first time I prayed. I was in a church. It was a large church.

  465. Hundreds, if not thousands of people were there. And the pastor's wife got up

  466. and talked about praying in tongues and said, go home.

  467. And in your quiet time, say, Lord, I just want all of you.

  468. I just don't want a little bit or what I understand I want all.

  469. I want all of you. And I said, I did. I went to my room and I said, Lord, I want all of you.

  470. And I began to step out in faith and I began to say sounds and syllables that just didn't make sense.

  471. And when I did that, I kept going, I kept going. And a couple of minutes later,

  472. I had tears coming down my eyes.

  473. The presence of the Lord filled that room.

  474. And I began to understand that the utterance begin to come.

  475. I'm not waiting for something to happen. He's not going to force anything.

  476. I have to yield my members to him, my mouth, and allow him to use me to pray

  477. through me his perfect plan and his perfect will for my life.

  478. Why would you want this Jordan without the tongue?

  479. Why would you want the Holy Spirit without the ability to pray in tongues?

  480. This is how you experience true life.
