S2E65 Homily 46.01.26-31 Glory Only in the Lord

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to the homily forty six

point zero one point twenty six through thirty one. Today, repeck,

you look at once again this first chapter in the

forty six the book of the Bible, first Corinthians. Really short,

sweet to the point, however, encoded within it is something

of wonderful magnitude. So from the new King James version.

For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise

according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble

are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of

the world to put to shame the wise. And God

has chosen the weak things of the world to put

the shame. The things which are mighty, and the base

things of the world, and the things which are despised.

God has chosen, and the things which are not to

bring to nothing, the things that are that no flesh

should glory in his presence, but of Him you are

in Christ, Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God,

and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. That as it is written,

he who glories, let him glory in the Lord. Really

to the point, and take note consider this, how many

great preachers are authorized and licensed by men, very few,

very few. So in the especially the New King James

version here highlights this last phrase as being a quote.

He who glories, let him glory in the Lord. It

is not a direct quote. It cannot be construed as

a direct quote. And the footnote says it's from Jeremiah

chapter nine, verses twenty three through twenty four. So I'm

going to read that once again from the New King

James version, and you're going to readily understand that, well,

that's not a quote. That's what it means. That's what

it says. And the two Greek words in question, those

are quoted here. But let's get to it. Jeremiah nine,

verse twenty three. That says the Lord. Let not the

wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty

man glory in his mind, nor the rich man glory

in his richess. But let him who glories glory in

this that he understands and knows me that I am

the Lord, exercising love and kindness, judgment and righteousness in

the earth. For in these I delight, says the Lord.

So take note, this is not a direct quote. That

is what Jeremiah chapter nine verse twenty four is saying,

but this is not a direct quote. And take note

that what is even more off the hook is that

this is also quoted in Second Corinthians ten, verse seventeen.

When you look at it in the Greek, it really

catches your attention. But one thing else also catches your

attention is that this is not the only place this

is quoted in the Septuogent, that is the Greek Bible,

that is to say, the Hellenica. This ministry calls the

Hellenica the scept Tulogent, coupled with the New Testament Editto Regia.

The Adito Regia is that Greek manuscript that was rightly

divided into chapters and verses by Stephanus. So that being said,

this is also quoted in the prayer of Hannah when

she had Samuel. So uh can't know that if if

you want to get to the bottom of what is

going on, it's just off the hook. What's being what's

being talked about here in this this prayer of hand.

But take note in the Septuagint it adds this phraseology

him who glories, let him glory in the Lord is

inserted into first Samuel chapter two, verse ten. So I'm

going to read that verse in the New King Dame's

version first. So this is Hannah in her prayer and

dedication of her son Samuel so verse ten. The adversaries

of the Lord shall be broken in pieces from heaven.

He will funder against them. The Lord will judge to

the ends of the earth. He will give strength to

his king and exhalt the horn of his anointed. Wow,

let's read the Septuagic version and you can see where

it's it is different. It has the same ideas, but

it adds this phraseology from First Corinthians chapter one, verse

thirty one. So here we go again. First Samuel, chapter two,

verse ten. The Lord will make his adversary weak. The

Lord is holy. The wise must not boast in his wisdom,

and the strong must not boast in his strength. And

the wealthy must not boast in his wealth. Rather, the

one who boasts should boast in this to understand and

know the Lord, and to practice justice and righteousness in

the midst of the land. The Lord went up into

the heavens and thundered. He will judge the heights of

the earth and give strength to our kings. He will

lift high the horn of is anointed. So this take

things to the different level when you realize this is

incorporated into Hannah's prayer. None understand this that literally here

speaking from the masoretic text from the New King James version,

there is no king at this point. Do you have

to realize that? So this prayer from the outset, You

need to know that that the prayer of Hannah is

absolutely encoded with Bible prophecy. She's prophesying of what's to come.

Because you know who it was who was to anoint

the king of Israel was going to be Samuel. So

this is just it really boggles the mind when you

see here incorporated in the to this text he who

glories or this translation boast same words in Greek, it's

a different translation. These words are saying that he who glories,

let you glory in the Lord. So this not being

a direct quote, it lends the simple fact that you

need to research this, You need to get your your

hands around this, the simple fact that all of these

things this list is given from the Lord, and you

need to know and understand and appreciate that that well

incorporated into this idea and this this thing is that

you know there is no doubt that verse twenty three

of Jeremiah chapter nine, these are the things where if

you're going to boast about, these are the things people

boast in one of these three things. The wise, the mighty,

and the rich. They boast in three things in their wisdom,

in their might, or in their riches. It's imperative that

you realize that's what's being talked about here. And this

ties back in that this whole entire chapter has made

itself perfectly plain that the Lord, he is God, and

everything derives from his side of the equation. There is

an equation. There is the Lord, and there is humanity

on the other side of that equal sign. And what

balances this equation is his son, the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Know and understand that that is what balances this equation.

This is what makes the odd equal. It's what makes

the odd equal. So what a wonderful chapter here, this

first chapter of the forty sixth book of the Bible,

God's Holy Word. Take it to heart. No one understands.

You've read over the chapters that I have provided there,

and it's amazing when you pull back to see what

all those chapters about especially Jeremiah chapter nine. You read

that prophecy and you realize that this prophecy and this

idea is incorporated into the millennial rate of Christ. These

things will only come to pass, the millennium right of

Christ once we have received our resurrected bodies. The Greek

calls that anastasis, the anastasis anatomy we're going to get.

These things can only be ultimately realized in our betrothal

and marriage to the Lord Jesus Christ. So it is

imperative that you understand that message. That is the message.

It's not a message, it's the message. It's the message.
