  1. Okay, so let's look at the text together.

  2. We're gonna look at Genesis, chapter two, verse 24, and I'm gonna

  3. do an intro here, and then we're gonna flow through some of

  4. the lesson.

  5. Genesis, chapter two.

  6. So we're going back to the beginning.

  7. How many of you know that relationships have the greatest capacity

  8. to hurt, but they also have the greatest potential to heal?

  9. What hurts you most could heal you most.

  10. If you were hurt by a man, you could be healed by a man.

  11. If you were forsaken by a friend, you can be restored by a

  12. friend.

  13. Whatever hurts you most has potential to heal you most.

  14. The first Adam fell.

  15. What did they call Jesus Christ when he showed up?

  16. The second Adam.

  17. Right.

  18. Because the thing that hurt the most has the potential to heal

  19. the most.

  20. So the first Adam fail.

  21. Fail.

  22. I'm doing this for our West Virginia contingent watching online.

  23. The first Adam fail.

  24. And the second Adam came back and said, I cannot fail.

  25. Does this make sense?

  26. Okay, so when we look at marriage, we have to go back to the

  27. origin.

  28. So in Genesis, chapter two, verse 24.

  29. I'm going to read it.

  30. It says, therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother

  31. and hold fast.

  32. Everybody say, hold fast.

  33. Hold fast to his wife.

  34. Some of you are holding your phone more than you hold your wife,

  35. and that's your problem.

  36. The Bible says they'll hold fast to his wife if you're holding

  37. your phone more than you're holding your wife.

  38. That's why you got problems.

  39. Okay.

  40. That one was free.

  41. Share this with a friend.

  42. And it says, and they shall become one flesh.

  43. Somebody say one flesh.

  44. And the man and his wife were both naked, and they were not ashamed.

  45. So I want to briefly do this, but God formed Eve from whose body?

  46. Okay, good.

  47. All of the other creation was created by two other means.

  48. One was by word and the other was by dirt.

  49. Word and dirt.

  50. So God spoke into creation, and then from the dirt, he formed

  51. Adam.

  52. Eve was distinctly created a different way, which is from Adam.

  53. Eve was created from Adam.

  54. Where was she taken from?

  55. Okay, from the side, the rib.

  56. Right.

  57. Lesson number one.

  58. God did not take Eve from the skull bone so that she would lead

  59. over him.

  60. Oh, come on.

  61. God did not take her from the foot bone so that she would be under

  62. him.

  63. God took her from the side so that they would be partners and they

  64. would be equals.

  65. Are y'all with me?

  66. Okay, so let's go a little bit deeper in the scriptures now.

  67. Let's look at Genesis, chapter 2, verse 18, because this will give

    Genesis 2:18

  68. you a revelation of what I just said.

  69. Go back now to verse 18.

  70. And then the Lord said to him, it is not good.

  71. Somebody say, it's not good that the man should be alone.

  72. I will make him a helper.

  73. Somebody say helper fit for him.

  74. So God is walking with Adam in the garden, but he still says, you're

  75. alone.

  76. It's possible to have God in the garden and still feel alone because

  77. you don't have your wife.

  78. And so there's a part of you that can only be fulfilled this way,

  79. not just this way.

  80. Does that make sense?

  81. And most of us do not have the gift of singleness.

  82. And you know how I know?

  83. Because you're nasty.

  84. Okay, let's keep going.

  85. Oh, you're with me.

  86. Welcome back.

  87. Welcome back.

  88. So let's define alone.

  89. It's possible to have God.

  90. Now this is going to get played and the heresy hunters are

  91. going to make videos.

  92. According to scripture, it's possible to have God and still feel

  93. alone.

  94. And for everybody who says God is enough, for how long?

  95. Because Adam had God and he was going through the process of

  96. fulfilling his purpose and his destiny by naming the creation.

  97. Because God brought purpose to him.

  98. But there was a duration of time before he started to awaken

  99. to the realization that he was alone, even.

  100. Even with God and with purpose.

  101. So singleness is a duration of time.

  102. And then what will happen is you'll start to say, wow, I didn't

  103. feel like this before.

  104. What that is is the desire inside of you pointing towards another

  105. purpose, which is marriage.

  106. And let me just say, we need to get married.

  107. We don't need people dating for years and years and years.

  108. We don't need people blaming the economics on why they move in

  109. together and fornicate and have sex together.

  110. Because when stand before a righteous and holy God, he doesn't

  111. care how high your rent was on Long Island.

  112. He just knows you're a fornicator and that's why you can't

  113. enter the kingdom.

  114. And by the way, for those of you like, I don't like this pastor.

  115. No, no.

  116. What I just quoted in ghetto's speech was the Bible.

  117. And so you have a problem with God, not with me.

  118. I'm just the messenger.

  119. And by the way, as a dad of two daughter, oh, I just felt a little

  120. bit of rage.

  121. I had to like, I had to say, lord help me.

  122. How dare you.

  123. How dare you.

  124. And this is why I say this.

  125. Like, people excuse sin and we blur the lines that God has clearly

  126. marked.

  127. We take the fence post and we take it and we Move that fence post,

  128. and we create a boundary that he has not created.

  129. It's fornication.

  130. And by the way, for those of you asking, what can we do that counts?

  131. If you have to ask, you already know.

  132. I'm talking sexually, I'm dating.

  133. We're committed.

  134. What can we do that counts?

  135. If you have to ask, you already know.

  136. How dare you?

  137. Are you all still with me?

  138. Why is it so quiet?

  139. Everyone's like, I drove out for this during a blizzard.

  140. How dare.

  141. Listen, I'm trying to help you because marriage is a covenant, and

  142. the world teaches commitment, but the Bible teaches covenant, and

  143. I want us to be covenantal people.

  144. And so if you're homie, if you don't have intentions to marry her,

  145. then you need to break up with her so she can find a man while you're

  146. still going to be a boy.

  147. Selah.

  148. Genesis, chapter 2, verse 18.

    Genesis 2:18

  149. Eve was not made from Adam's head, not made from her feet, his

  150. feet made from his side.

  151. And this symbolizes, like, an equal, his partner.

  152. And the word partner there is.

  153. It basically means a helper corresponding to him.

  154. And it's very, very important to understand that.

  155. Now let's.

  156. We're gonna do Old Testament, New Testament, because the Bible

  157. talks to itself and it references itself.

  158. And this is gonna help you.

  159. In Galatians, chapter 3, verse 28, it says, There is neither Jew

    Galatians 3:28

  160. nor Greek.

  161. There's neither slave nor free.

  162. There is neither male or female, for you all are one in Christ

  163. Jesus.

  164. So the sin entered the earth and created division.

  165. But then when Christ came, the second Adam, he restored that unity

  166. that you see.

  167. And I believe it'll even be represented in your marriage, because

  168. how many of you know that we're different by design?

  169. I'm so thankful that Julie's not like me.

  170. I used to think that us not being like each other is why our

  171. marriage didn't work.

  172. But us not being like each other is why it was really going

  173. to work.

  174. But you have to honor and acknowledge what you don't understand.

  175. You have to honor and acknowledge what you wouldn't choose.

  176. Does this make any sense to you?

  177. So partnership is only possible if you release your preferences.

  178. Partnership is only possible if you release your preferences because

  179. your preferences are blocking your partnership.

  180. And it's in our differences that we come together and we have

  181. true unity, and we have a true marriage.

  182. So Julie chooses things that I wouldn't choose.

  183. Julie chooses to go to the beach and to lay down and to read

  184. a book and get a tan.

  185. And to me, that is One step away from dying.

  186. I'm like, this is what dead people do.

  187. They lay in the same position and don't move.

  188. So if you're like, do you wanna go to the pool?

  189. And do you wanna lay down and not move for hours?

  190. I think I'm gonna do that for a long time.

  191. When I'm dead, does this make sense?

  192. But the thing is, for me, how frenetic I am.

  193. And guess what?

  194. I know.

  195. I can't believe I'm admitting this in front of a live audience,

  196. but sometimes the best thing for me is to lay down at the pool.

  197. But then, Julie, and this is the classic phrase in the Signorelli

  198. home.

  199. You gotta get up, Julie.

  200. Because I'm the one who's like, come on, get up.

  201. We gotta do this, we gotta do that.

  202. So Julie needs my drive, and I need Julie's ability to rest.

  203. So we watch.

  204. If we compete with each other, I burn out.

  205. But she never burns.

  206. We are different by design.

  207. Eve is not like Adam.

  208. Adam's not like Eve, right?

  209. So what happens is God creates them to complement each other.

  210. Which is a side note, because you see how homosexuality is a perversion

  211. of God's design.

  212. Because differences can't procreate.

  213. I mean, I'm sorry.

  214. Similarities can't procreate, only differences.

  215. So there is no multiplication without difference.

  216. I don't know how I feel about this church.

  217. Nobody gets me.

  218. What you actually just said is, at this church, people are different

  219. than you, which is the evidence you should be here.

  220. Because they're gonna grow you in ways you wouldn't grow yourself.

  221. There's multiplication where there's difference, where there's

  222. sameness.

  223. You're sterile.

  224. So it's like, I don't know about this church.

  225. They're a different race.

  226. Yeah, but if we come together, you could teach me something and

  227. I could teach you something, and we're better together.

  228. You know what I'm saying?

  229. You know what I like about V1 Church is we're a food court.

  230. We have all the cultures.

  231. You know what I'm saying?

  232. We got all that.

  233. If you want your chicken without seasoning, you go over to

  234. Julie's restaurant.

  235. And some people who want that can't imagine who.

  236. She's got a line over there for it.

  237. People are like, what's white people culture?

  238. I'm like, you don't want to know.

  239. You don't want to know.

  240. But do you feel me?

  241. I'm not talking about chicken anymore.

  242. I'm talking about differences.

  243. Now.

  244. Let me finish this portion because I'm going to be quick so

  245. we can get ready for the Super Bowl.

  246. But you all laugh because you know Genesis, chapter 2, verse 21.

    Genesis 2:21

  247. Adam was put into a deep sleep.

  248. And so God puts Adam into a deep sleep, and then, while he's

  249. asleep, opens his side and then extracts the rib to make Eve.

  250. Are y'all with me?

  251. When Jesus was on the cross, what did they do with the spear?

  252. Where did they pierce him?

  253. What happened afterwards?

  254. And then what happened?

  255. He died.

  256. It was almost like a sleep.

  257. And then what was birthed out of that sleep?

  258. The bride of Christ.

  259. The second Adam's Eve.

  260. Are you seeing the parallels?

  261. Are you seeing the parallels?

  262. So the first Adam goes to sleep, and out of his side comes

  263. Eve.

  264. The second Adam dies, and then out of his side comes his bride,

  265. which is you.

  266. And then you are to help him in the mission to preach the gospel

  267. to the entire earth.

  268. Come on.

  269. I'm telling you, you are a helper to him.

  270. I got chills all over me.

  271. We are the bride of Christ.

  272. Are y'all with me?

  273. Isn't that a powerful revelation?

  274. What does ribs do?

  275. Ribs protect the heart and lungs.

  276. What is the heart and lungs?

  277. Blood and breath.

  278. Come on, let it simmer.

  279. Ribs protect the heart and lungs.

  280. And what does the heart and lungs do?

  281. Blood and breath.

  282. It's the breath of God, and it's the blood of Jesus.

  283. And so we are the body of Christ.

  284. We are his bride.

  285. And I am here to protect his voice.

  286. And I am here to ensure that the blood gets pumped throughout

  287. the entire body.

  288. We are a church that preaches the blood.

  289. We are a church that pleads the blood.

  290. We are a church that believes that the blood has not lost its power.

  291. And the ribs protect the the heart that pumps the blood.

  292. The blood of Jesus is still flowing.

  293. We are the church that when we worship, the breath of God is coming

  294. out through us, through the Holy Spirit.

  295. And he's still creating through his breath.

  296. He's still prophesying through his breath.

  297. He's still praying through his breath.

  298. I have a high priest who prays for me.

  299. We're a church of breath, and we're a church of blood.

  300. We're a bride who protects the blood and the breath.

  301. Is there anybody who can testify to the blood and the breath?

  302. Hallelujah.

  303. Okay, I'm done with that section, but I want to now read it

  304. like this.

  305. Ephesians, chapter 5, verse 25.

    Ephesians 5:25

  306. Husbands, love your wives.

  307. As Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, that he

  308. might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of the

  309. word and with the words that he might present the church to himself

  310. in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing.

  311. Now, I'm going to end with this.

  312. One of the most unavoidable conversations when you talk about

  313. marriage is the five love languages.

  314. And I was like, I'm not preaching the five love languages.

  315. That's corny.

  316. I'm better than that.

  317. I'm a theologian.

  318. I'm not wasted.

  319. But you know what?

  320. I saw something.

  321. Because I said, lord, I want to parallel the body of Christ with

  322. the bride of Christ, the body of Adam with the bride, his bride,

  323. Eve, who came from his body.

  324. And then I was like, wow, the five love languages.

  325. Jesus loved us with all five.

  326. And so it's not husbands, love your wives with these five love languages,

  327. wives.

  328. It's, let's look at the example of how Christ perfectly did

  329. each one, and then you'll know how to do this within your own relationships.

  330. So I got rebuked, and I'm gonna hand it down so.

  331. And stop sharing that meme with me of the stick, the guy in

  332. the costume beating the people.

  333. Have you seen this?

  334. There's a viral meme where it's like, I went to church to be

  335. encouraged today, and then it says, here's the encouragement.

  336. It's like this guy being.

  337. And I keep getting tagged in that, and I promise I'm nice.

  338. So Dr.

  339. Gary Chapman had the five love languages, and I'm gonna parallel

  340. these.

  341. And then this is the last and final portion of the sermon.

  342. So let's do number one, two, three, four, and five in a row.

  343. And I'm gonna give you the biblical context.

  344. And by the way, I'm a typical male who resists these kinds of teaching.

  345. And my wife will tell you the story about how I would sweat through

  346. all of our marriage counseling.

  347. And, you know, last night, can I just tell on myself before I do

  348. this?

  349. Cause I feel like I need to confess my sin one to another.

  350. So last night, well, I took my wife on a date.

  351. And, you know, I try to be extra good in this month so I could

  352. be more authoritative when I preach.

  353. That's a joke.

  354. So last night I said to my wife, I said, julie, how could I

  355. support you more?

  356. And she goes, what'd you say?

  357. I said, how can I support you more?

  358. And she said, what did you say?

  359. And I said, how can I better support you?

  360. And she was like, I don't think you've ever asked me that question.

  361. I was like, I know I'm growing.

  362. And then, I kid you not, this is a real thing that happened last

  363. night.

  364. And so all of a sudden she tells me like four things.

  365. And the first thing she tells me immediately, I'm like, well I

  366. already do that, here's how I do it.

  367. Then the second thing, I already do that, here's how I do

  368. it.

  369. We got through them all and she starts laughing, she's like,

  370. I wanna give you an A for an effort, but you just explained your

  371. way out of all of em and you still don't get it.

  372. But I love you and you're doing better.

  373. So that was a real conversation last night.

  374. And she was like, but you know what, the fact that you asked, that's

  375. a good start.

  376. Maybe we'll have another breakthrough next week.

  377. So sometimes when I'm doing these things, just to be transparent

  378. with you, you might think that I'm presenting myself as an expert.

  379. I'm presenting myself as a player in the game.

  380. Like I'm on the court, I'm playing the game, I'm getting fouled,

  381. I'm getting elbowed in the face.

  382. We're doing this thing together and I'm failing my way through

  383. a 20 year marriage right now.

  384. But I haven't given up.

  385. Amen.

  386. So here's the one.

  387. So number one is words of affirmation.

  388. I love you, I appreciate you.

  389. Words of affirmation.

  390. Some of you knew I didn't even say that to you and you still liked

  391. it cause you're wired for it.

  392. Words of affirmation.

  393. Now the thing about the five love languages is if somebody's wired

  394. for words of affirmation and you do another one of them, it's

  395. almost like it's worthless effort.

  396. So let me show you.

  397. So the next one is Acts of service.

  398. I'll do this for you.

  399. Acts of service.

  400. So if somebody's wired to receive love through acts of service

  401. and you give them words of affirmation, it's to them it's as

  402. if you've done nothing.

  403. And how I figured that out is because I assumed that my wife would

  404. feel so loved that I paid all of our bills.

  405. I wanted to put bows on the refrigerator and a bow on the couch

  406. I bought and a bow on the tv and I bet, look at this, look how

  407. loved you are.

  408. But she doesn't receive it.

  409. As a matter of fact, you know how I know that?

  410. There's been seasons in our life where we've been blessed financially

  411. and there's been seasons where we've cashed it all out for ministry

  412. and had nothing.

  413. Where we lit one time, our apartment, our bedroom was in the

  414. kitchen.

  415. Just to give you an idea, and I promise you, my wife, there was

  416. no difference in our relationship.

  417. The way Julie's wired and she's built like missionary status,

  418. where it's like she does not care whether she lives in a mansion

  419. or our bed's in the kitchen.

  420. The way she treated me has always been the same in terms of

  421. the weight she has.

  422. But if I buy her a mansion, which we don't have, but if I buy

  423. her a mansion and assume she feels more love, but don't give her

  424. words of affirmation, our relationship will get worse in a

  425. bigger house.

  426. Does this make any sense to y'all?

  427. So it's like.

  428. It's a weird thing because I can't love Julie the way I want to

  429. love her.

  430. I have to love Julie the way she receives love.

  431. And I promise you, Jesus knows that about you.

  432. And what makes your relationship with Jesus so important

  433. is Jesus loves you the way you receive love.

  434. And I'm gonna show you that in Scripture.

  435. So number three is receiving gifts.

  436. I thought of you and got this for you.

  437. So that's like receiving gifts.

  438. I thought of you, and I got this for you.

  439. The next one is quality time.

  440. Let's be together.

  441. Quality.

  442. I need to spend quality time.

  443. So Julie, she loves words of affirmation.

  444. Now, for a lot of men, we give words of information, not words of

  445. affirmation.

  446. Come on.

  447. You know, your wife doesn't care about all the science behind

  448. it.

  449. Just say, tell her she looks amazing.

  450. You know, we give words of information, not affirmation.

  451. But then the receiving gifts is really important.

  452. Quality time is really important.

  453. I took my wife on a date this week, and it was so funny because

  454. she has.

  455. That's a value for her.

  456. So she's like, oh, I just.

  457. I feel so good.

  458. I love this.

  459. I love that.

  460. And it was just that time.

  461. So if I don't find some time to take her out and I don't give

  462. her those two things, I have to win in those things.

  463. If I don't give my wife gifts, she's fine.

  464. If I don't do acts of service, she's fine.

  465. But if I neglect those two things, my relationship is gonna

  466. diminish.

  467. Okay?

  468. So that's my situation.

  469. And then the last one's physical touch.

  470. Let me hold you.

  471. Let me caress you.

  472. Physical touch is not always sexual touch.

  473. So there's a lot of research on this.

  474. But essentially, husbands tend to think of love as Providing.

  475. And wives tend to think of it in terms of auditory.

  476. Now, of course, this is not specific to everybody, but the research

  477. says it biases towards those things, which is how I tried to preach

  478. it today.

  479. But let me just break this last portion down right now.

  480. And if you want to.

  481. If the band wants to come up or maybe just Brie or somebody on

  482. keys or whatever, this is not a tremendously long message because

  483. I'm sowing a lot of seeds right now.

  484. So let's look at Colossians, chapter three, verse 14.

  485. And you could put this in your notes.

  486. And above all these, somebody say, above all.

  487. Okay, so this is giving you a priority.

  488. Above all these, put on love, which binds everything together in

  489. perfect harmony.

  490. Somebody say perfect harmony.

  491. So above all these, prioritize love.

  492. And then if you do that, it binds everything together in perfect

  493. harmony.

  494. So for those of you who are note takers, and I'll make this available

  495. online so you can actually get these notes.

  496. I know it's a lot.

  497. I'm gonna go through the five love languages now as Jesus did,

  498. each one of them.

  499. And my mind was blown because I was like, I'm not here to preach

  500. marriage.

  501. I'm here to preach Jesus.

  502. And if you understand Jesus, as you increase in your understanding

  503. of Jesus, you will increase in your understanding of marriage.

  504. Does this make sense?

  505. Cause there's people who think they know marriage.

  506. But by whose Standard?

  507. The American 21st century standard or by Christ standard?

  508. Right.

  509. So we have to understand Jesus.

  510. And so number one is words of affirmation.

  511. Some of you might be thinking, well, Jesus never affirmed, gave

  512. me words of affirmation.

  513. I'm supposed to affirm Jesus, but some of you have not.

  514. Let Jesus love you.

  515. And this is going to be your next level of breakthrough, because

  516. In Matthew, chapter 5, verse 14, he said, you are the light of

    Matthew 5:14

  517. the world.

  518. He affirmed, you are the light of the world.

  519. So he gave words of affirmation.

  520. So you might feel like, I'm nothing.

  521. I'm a nobody, I'm worthless.

  522. Why would Jesus want to be married to me?

  523. Go to a root.

  524. Why would he want me to be his bride?

  525. I cuss too much, I smoke too much, I drink too much.

  526. I get caught in the lust and perversion.

  527. I don't read my Bible.

  528. It's already February, and I'm 18 days behind on my daily growth

  529. journal, and I've already screwed up.

  530. Why would he want to be married to me?

  531. And he gives you words of affirmation.

  532. He says, you are the light of the world.

  533. It's like this battered woman in a relationship who's like, why

  534. would you want my body?

  535. Why would you want me?

  536. Why would you love me?

  537. And a loving husband with the words, because that is the body that

  538. bore our children.

  539. And your body is beautiful to me.

  540. Every scar, every inch of it, every bit of it.

  541. Your mind.

  542. I love you.

  543. Don't you dare disrespect my.

  544. We're one flesh.

  545. And you begin through words of affirmation to repair that relationship.

  546. And you say the opposite of what they think.

  547. I think you're going to leave me.

  548. I think that you don't want me.

  549. I think that I'm not enough.

  550. But Jesus said in the midst of all that you are the light of the

  551. world.

  552. He was loving his bride with words of affirmation, acts of service.

  553. Well, no, no, we're supposed.

  554. Okay, I'm getting to a root here.

  555. Some of you don't know how to be married to Jesus because it's

  556. only a one way street and you have not allowed him to be a good

  557. groom to you.

  558. And that's why I'm doing this.

  559. Well, I gotta go to the church and.

  560. Oh, I gotta get ready.

  561. Oh, oh, I've gotta go work for the coffee.

  562. I got.

  563. Oh, I gotta play the bass.

  564. Oh, I gotta do this.

  565. I gotta prove to him.

  566. I gotta.

  567. No, no, no.

  568. Yet there's a par for all that.

  569. But if you're striving in that, you don't understand that he

  570. also wants to love you.

  571. Acts of service in John, chapter 13, verse 5.

    John 13:5

  572. Jesus washed the disciples feet.

  573. Have you ever.

  574. Okay, what I love about washing feet is you have to be seated

  575. for it to happen.

  576. Bass players sit down.

  577. Some of you are like, I sat down in ministry.

  578. I have.

  579. I used to preach.

  580. Now I don't preach.

  581. I sat down in ministry.

  582. I used to play the musician, the music.

  583. Now I don't play.

  584. No, you haven't been sat down for inactivity.

  585. You've been sat down so that your groom can wash your feet.

  586. He.

  587. You're.

  588. He's putting you in that posture so that you can learn how

  589. to be served.

  590. Because once you let him wash your feet.

  591. Feet.

  592. You will know what it feels like to sit other people down and

  593. serve them.

  594. And how can you give a love that you have refused to receive?

  595. I know this is good for somebody because when you're standing

  596. and you're playing the bass, when you're standing and making coffee,

  597. when you're standing and greeting at the front door, you're

  598. serving, but you're not Being served.

  599. That's why we say serve one.

  600. Serve one, sit one.

  601. I don't want anybody serving multiple services.

  602. Serve one, sit one.

  603. Why?

  604. Because you wash people's feet one service and you get yours washed

  605. the next.

  606. Some of y'all don't know how to be married.

  607. That's what.

  608. That's why the church is so dysfunctional.

  609. Oh, come on.

  610. I feel a V1 classic in the making.

  611. This is needed.

  612. Is this needed?

  613. Okay, let's pick up the pace.

  614. Receiving gifts.

  615. But I'm supposed to give God my money.

  616. I'm supposed to give God.

  617. I supposed to go to Honduras and serve in a missions team.

  618. I'm supposed to give God my gifting to video edit.

  619. I'm supposed to give.

  620. Yeah, but hold on.

  621. John, chapter 3, verse 16.

    John 3:16

  622. For God so loved that he gave.

  623. As a matter of fact, he gave so lavishly, we'll never be able

  624. to repay him back.

  625. He gave his life.

  626. And so it's like my video.

  627. It trivializes whatever I give him.

  628. So are we in a competition?

  629. No, we're simply responding.

  630. I can't believe that pastor asked me to give my money.

  631. I can't believe that God gave his only begotten son.

  632. It's like it trivializes it.

  633. That church only wants my money.

  634. No, no, no.

  635. Jesus gave everything.

  636. It's incomparable.

  637. If I gave everything I have, it would be like a granular piece

  638. of sand in an entire ocean.

  639. It would be so incalculably small, it would feel infantile in

  640. comparison to the grandeur of his love.

  641. Are y'all with me?

  642. So he gave.

  643. That's why salvation is a gift, not a reward.

  644. And if you don't understand marriage, you'll try to earn a reward.

  645. Hey, by the way, sex is not a reward for being a good spouse.

  646. Hello.

  647. Sex is not a reward for being a good spot.

  648. Oh, my husband was good this week.

  649. I'll sleep with him.

  650. Oh, you didn't do the dishes.

  651. You didn't do this.

  652. You were mean.

  653. I'm gonna withhold from you.

  654. No, we don't.

  655. Or vice versa.

  656. We don't withhold from each other because we're one flesh.

  657. And this is what the scriptures say.

  658. We've gotta understand this.

  659. And what happens is in relationships, we're making people

  660. earn our affection, earn our attention, earn our love, and not

  661. realizing that we're engaging with God the same way.

  662. Oh, come on.

  663. Or when you've been bad towards him, you think he's treating

  664. you the way you treat your spouse.

  665. No, no, it's a reward.

  666. Not a gift.

  667. I'm sorry.

  668. It's a gift, not a reward.

  669. It says this.

  670. Quality time.

  671. Mark, chapter three, verse 14.

  672. You could write this down in your notes.

  673. Mark, chapter 3, verse 14.

    Mark 3:14

  674. He walked with his disciples daily.

  675. Quality time.

  676. Come over here, John.

  677. Jesus.

  678. Can I put my head on your chest?

  679. I'm feeling anxious.

  680. Yeah, come over here, my beloved.

  681. Put your head on my chest.

  682. Thomas, come over here.

  683. Let's walk.

  684. Jesus.

  685. I'm struggling.

  686. I doubt so much.

  687. This thing doesn't make sense in my intellect.

  688. That's okay.

  689. Let's walk together.

  690. Quality time.

  691. After Jesus resurrection, he was in a glorified body, and he revealed

  692. himself to Thomas, and he was spending quality time.

  693. Think about it.

  694. He's the resurrected king.

  695. And he didn't show himself to thousands, he showed himself to one

  696. and said, let's spend time together.

  697. And Thomas is like, I want to believe it's you, but this is crazy.

  698. I watched you die.

  699. I want to.

  700. And he's like, thomas, it's me and you right now.

  701. Look at me.

  702. I understand your fears.

  703. I understand your concerns.

  704. I'm not mad at you for.

  705. Oh, come on.

  706. I'm not going to fight you.

  707. It's okay to confront me.

  708. Think about the relationship between resurrected Jesus and Thomas.

  709. Think about it.

  710. He's confronting him, saying, I.

  711. I want to believe this is real, but this is crazy.

  712. Did you just walk through a wall?

  713. And Jesus is like, just put your.

  714. Just touch.

  715. Come a little closer.

  716. You know how close you have to be to touch somebody's side.

  717. You could smell them.

  718. Quality time.

  719. But in a lot of marriage relationships, when you confront,

  720. it causes conflict.

  721. And conflict could actually create greater intimacy or greater

  722. division.

  723. So when Thomas was confronting resurrected Jesus, Jesus could have

  724. been on the defensive.

  725. What do you mean, Thomas, I told you I was gonna come back from

  726. the dead.

  727. What do you mean?

  728. It's not me, dude.

  729. I just.

  730. I was just.

  731. I literally conquered death.

  732. How ungrate for you.

  733. And you're gonna disrespect me like that's a toxic marriage conversation?

  734. But Jesus says, come a little closer.

  735. Touch, feel, experience.

  736. What about in a marriage relationship when we get confronted?

  737. Instead of that producing conflict, that makes division, it

  738. produces greater intimacy.

  739. Oh, you think I'm gonna leave you?

  740. I'll never leave you nor forsake you.

  741. I'll be with you until the end.

  742. Come a little closer.

  743. Oh, you think I'm going to be mad at you because you doubt?

  744. Come a little closer.

  745. See, there's something.

  746. Are y'all getting this revelation with me?

  747. Last but not least.

  748. And I've already preached it.

  749. Matthew, chapter 8, verse 3.

    Matthew 8:3

  750. Physical touch, physical touch.

  751. He healed by his touch.

  752. Men, men, you can heal by your touch.

  753. Women, you can heal by your touch.

  754. I had to learn gentleness.

  755. I did not know gentleness.

  756. It's a fruit of the spirit.

  757. I grew many other fruit, but the fruit that I never grew is gentleness.

  758. And I had to go through a process of how to guide put my hand

  759. on the small of my wife's back and lead her through the door.

  760. I had to go on dates and say, julie, if you'll pause in front of

  761. that door, I'll open it for you.

  762. Because I noticed that Julie would always grab the door and open

  763. it for herself.

  764. And I had to tell her, if you pause in front of that door, I'll

  765. open it for you.

  766. And I would open the door and just gently guide her.

  767. And I feel like the Lord wants me to tell many of you, I'm speaking

  768. to the bride of Christ.

  769. If you pause in front of the door, I'll open it for you.

  770. Because what happens was, Julie had opened doors for herself

  771. for 19 years before I met her.

  772. So when a real man showed up, she didn't even know how to let me

  773. lead.

  774. And I'm talking to even some of the husbands right now.

  775. When your heavenly Father shows up in your life, you don't

  776. know how to let him lead yet because you're used to doing it yourself.

  777. If you pause in front of the door, he'll open it for you.

  778. Is this helping anybody?

  779. Would you all stand to your feet with me?

  780. Can I tell you the truth?

  781. These conversations that we're having this month shouldn't just

  782. happen in a church.

  783. They should have happened in your childhood home.

  784. Now, it probably didn't happen just like it didn't happen in mine.

  785. But these conversations are not church conversations exclusively,

  786. but they are supposed to be conversations at home.

  787. But we have gone so far.

  788. We have walked so far in the wrong direction for thousands of

  789. years, that it's not that normal, according to God, is not

  790. normal.

  791. And so what Julie and I are doing is we're trying to give you

  792. 20 years of crucial conversations in a month.

  793. Years and years of paid counseling out of our own money to

  794. sit with people.

  795. And we're taking all that wisdom.

  796. We're trying to get it to you, to infuse it into your life.

  797. And I really believe that whether you're single or married,

  798. this month will be a major deposit in your life, and you'll

  799. never be the same.

  800. But there's A lot of emotions that are going to be stirred up over

  801. the next couple of weeks.

  802. A lot of feelings, a lot of thoughts.

  803. Sometimes when you're squeezing the wound and the pus comes

  804. out and you have to drain it before you sew it up, and so you

  805. might find yourself like, I don't know, I feel conflicted in

  806. these services.

  807. I don't know if I want to cry or if I want to yell.

  808. I get angry, I get upset.

  809. I don't know what I'm feeling.

  810. I want to speak.

  811. Speak to that and narrate this to you.

  812. I'm speaking to your being right now.

  813. There.

  814. It's.

  815. Because there's divorce in your.

  816. In your bloodline.

  817. There's.

  818. There's infidelity, adultery.

  819. It's all in there.

  820. And some of you, you're the very first ones who will sit under

  821. godly, righteous teaching and say, it may run in my family, but

  822. this has got to be where it runs out.

  823. I may have gotten divorced, but he's a God of second chances

  824. and third chances and fourth chances.

  825. I may have fallen into adultery.

  826. I may have already messed up, but he's the God of second chances,

  827. third chances.

  828. He's a God that draws us back.

  829. And I may have yelled at my wife today, yesterday.

  830. I may have yelled at my husband.

  831. I may have already messed it up.

  832. But God is saying, come, try again because you're being discipled

  833. in this way.

  834. So just how many of you, by a show of hands, are willing to continue

  835. this journey with me throughout this month?

  836. Who wants to be discipled?

  837. Who wants to be mentored in marriage?

  838. Praise God.

  839. So I wanna pray for you.

  840. Let's leave our hands up across every location right now.

  841. And I just.

  842. Cause I feel the holiness of God.

  843. I feel the righteousness of God right now.

  844. And so right now, with every hand lifted from the front to the

  845. back, I just.

  846. I want to tell you that before you go and be who God has called

  847. you to be, you must experience his love and allow him to serve you

  848. with words of affirmation, and allow him to serve you with acts

  849. of service, and allow him to serve you with gifts and allow him

  850. to laugh at you.

  851. So right now, just over the next several moments, as you hear

  852. the sound of this piano, I believe this is prophetic piano playing.

  853. So I want to just turn up the piano for a moment, and the Lord

  854. is going to begin to just supernaturally encounter you in Miami,

  855. on Long island, here in Brooklyn, Indiana, right now.

  856. You are an encounter with your groom, with your.

  857. Come on, Jesus.

  858. Christ himself through the Holy Spirit, just touching and affirming.

  859. And I pray over this church from the top of your head to the

  860. soles of your very feet that that orphan spirit would be broken

  861. off of you.

  862. In the name of Jesus, I speak to every root of rejection right

  863. now, and I command it out in the name of Jesus.

  864. I sever every ungodly soul tie from inappropriate relationships

  865. of the past that have caused you to go back to the fantasies that

  866. have caused you to go back to the wandering in your own mind.

  867. Every spirit of condemnation, every stronghold of guilt and shame.

  868. I pull it down in the name of Jesus over every single one of my

  869. congregants and those under the sound of my voice.

  870. I speak, speak to the stronghold of condemnation that says

  871. you'll never be good enough.

  872. And I say, stronghold, come down.

  873. We take into captivity every thought that has erected itself up

  874. against the word of God right now.

  875. Every single thought of inadequacy, every single demonic

  876. lie of the enemy that you're too old, that you're not good enough.

  877. I bind it in the name of Jesus and cast it down in the name of Jesus.

  878. I hear the Lord saying, I have forgiven you.

  879. And as far as the east is from the west, I have separated you from

  880. your sin and I remember no more Jesus, mighty name.

  881. When the prodigal son came home, he got a ring and a robe.

  882. And the ring represents covenant.

  883. And I saw a vision of the Lord releasing rings.

  884. And the Lord says, when you allow me to put the ring on your

  885. finger.

  886. See, there's something, it's like some of you, it's like you still,

  887. you're having an encounter with the Father because he wants

  888. to put the ring on your finger first.

  889. And I'm talking to even the sons, we think about buying a ring

  890. so we could get married.

  891. But the Lord's like, I've already paid for this with my life.

  892. And son, let me put the ring on you.

  893. Daughter, let me put the ring on you.

  894. Last thing, because I know there's a lot of tears in the room

  895. right now.

  896. Over the next two weeks, the Lord says that he is about to purge.

  897. The word he gave me for you is purge.

  898. Purge, purge, purge.

  899. Purge you of rejection.

  900. Purge you.

  901. The Lord says, you've taken out a root, but not the root, and

  902. I'm taking out the root and I will purge.

  903. Purge, says the Lord.

  904. Purge.

  905. Over the next two weeks, there's a 14 day purge that's happening.

  906. Purging, purging, purging.

  907. And he's removing the reproach of Egypt.

  908. He's removing the stench of sin.

  909. Purging.

  910. Purging.

  911. And the purging is a part of a preparation.

  912. Let him do the work.

  913. Because the thing the Lord told me to say is, this is forever.

  914. This is forever.

  915. I felt that release strong.

  916. This.

  917. Every, every.

  918. Everything in your life has felt temporary.

  919. But I heard the Lord say, this is forever.

  920. This is forever.

  921. This is forever.

  922. And Father, we release the eternal.

  923. That they would step fully into the spiritual realm and dimensions

  924. of the Spirit.

  925. That they have not known God.

  926. That they would step out of the temporary and they would see,
