  1. Okay, so we're talking about covenant right now.

  2. And I'm going to start with Ephesians, chapter 5, verse 25 through

    Ephesians 5:25–27

  3. 27.

  4. It says, Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church

  5. and gave himself up for her.

  6. That he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing

  7. of water with the Word.

  8. So that he might present the church to him in splendor, without

  9. spot or wrinkle or any such thing.

  10. That he might be.

  11. That she might be holy and without blemish.

  12. So marriage reflects a covenant, not a commitment.

  13. And that covenant is the bride being washed by the groom.

  14. And he actually washes her and presents her to himself without spot

  15. or blemish.

  16. I want to start by saying, I got good news for you.

  17. The Lord has made a commitment to wash you.

  18. The Lord has made a commitment to present you to himself without

  19. spot or blemish.

  20. And I want to give you good news.

  21. The bride doesn't wash herself.

  22. The groom washes the bride.

  23. So for those of you who are trapped in legalism, for those of

  24. you are trapped in condemnation and guilt and shame,

  25. you don't wash yourself.

  26. He washes you.

  27. So get over this idea that you can make yourself pure.

  28. No, he makes you pure.

  29. Can I get an amen on that?

  30. In the same way, husbands, if you don't like your marriage, wash

  31. your wife.

  32. Wash her with the word, encourage your wife, prophesy over

  33. your wife, read the word to your wife, because your wife is a

  34. reflection of how you love your wife.

  35. And I think, for me, that's what I've learned over all the years.

  36. Like, I'm gonna.

  37. This is really scary.

  38. Cause I didn't prepare you for all this stuff, but what is it like

  39. to be a wife?

  40. And I know I've gotten it wrong and I've hurt you many times,

  41. but there's, like, I've tried to get it right.

  42. And, you know, what is it like?

  43. Cause I feel like you've had two different husbands in two different

  44. eras.

  45. Can you maybe talk about, like, what is it?

  46. Cause there's even words I've given you, radical words about things

  47. that I won't even say that have come to pass.

  48. But I feel like I've hurt you with my words, and I've healed you

  49. with my words, because I didn't understand the revelation

  50. of Ephesians, chapter 5.

    Ephesians 5 chapter mention

  51. So if you were to speak from a woman's perspective, what is it like

  52. to be on both sides?

  53. What is it like?

  54. You know, to be subjected to hurtful words, but healing words?

  55. I mean, I.

  56. We've been married almost 20 years.

  57. We're celebrating 20 years next January.

  58. I know.

  59. And we always joke.

  60. We are always like, we've been married 20 years.

  61. We've had.

  62. Well, it's more now.

  63. We've had 10 good ones or eight good ones, you know, and we've

  64. been on both sides.

  65. I think you've also.

  66. You've been the recipient of the best parts of me and the worst

  67. parts of me, and.

  68. Watch it.

  69. And so, yeah, I've been hurt by your words and healed by your

  70. words.

  71. And I will say that, you know, gentlemen, the hurt, it takes a lot

  72. longer to heal.

  73. You know, you can give a compliment, and that'll send her

  74. soaring, like, all day, but you say one hurtful thing, and she

  75. could hold onto that for a long, long time.

  76. You know, I had one time I had somebody, you know, make a comment

  77. about the way I looked.

  78. And, I mean, this was, like, years ago, right after, you know,

  79. right after I probably had Bella.

  80. And that to this day, when I try on something in the fitting room,

  81. that comment comes in my head.

  82. I'm just, you know, exactly how it was said.

  83. So I've had to learn.

  84. Can you tell me who said it?

  85. No, because I'm getting angry right now.

  86. Old Mike is coming out right now on stage.

  87. Old Mike?

  88. Yeah.

  89. Text it to me later.

  90. I'll text you.

  91. But it just goes to show you, like, that was 20 years ago, that

  92. somebody probably didn't even give two thoughts behind what they

  93. were saying.

  94. And yet that stayed with me 20 years.

  95. 18 years.

  96. And so you have to.

  97. Your words.

  98. I always tell my kids this, and I don't get it right, either.

  99. I yell at them.

  100. I say dumb things.

  101. I, you know, have said hurtful things.

  102. So I'm not trying to pretend like I've, like, got this figured

  103. out, but I try to tell them, like, your words are like, crystal.

  104. Like, crystal.

  105. Like, you know, we don't use it anymore.

  106. Our dishes are from Amazon.

  107. But let's pretend like we have crystal dishes.

  108. You know how the dishes in your grandma's, like, curio cabinet,

  109. your mom's curio cabinet, and you're not allowed to eat on them?

  110. That's your words.

  111. We treat our dishes with more care and concern than we treat the

  112. way that we talk to our spouses.

  113. We think more about the soap that will clean those dishes and

  114. what needs to be hand washed, what needs to be thrown in the dishwasher,

  115. and yet we just, like, casually just smell, say what we

  116. think with our words all the time.

  117. And I Can tell.

  118. Like just seeing the growth in you over years.

  119. I mean, listen, we're human.

  120. We wanna say mean things to each other.

  121. I don't think anybody graduates if you're just waiting,

  122. like, to not have that really snide comment, like, in your head.

  123. You know, you're gonna die with that.

  124. It's about your getting control of your flesh and this lie

  125. that you can't control what comes out of your mouth.

  126. You know, like, oh, I'm, you know, I grew up Irish.

  127. That's the way we talk.

  128. I grew up this way.

  129. That's the way we talk.

  130. It's like, no, that isn't the way you talk.

  131. That's a demonic kingdom.

  132. That's a demonic language.

  133. That is not the way that we talk.

  134. And us having to, you know, you inherit the worst parts of how

  135. you grew up.

  136. And when you put those two toxic, real, and everybody's got

  137. it.

  138. I grew up in a Christian spirit filled household.

  139. It doesn't matter.

  140. We all have the worst parts of us.

  141. When you get married, you take the worst parts of who you've seen

  142. growing up and the worst parts of who he's seen growing up and you

  143. put them together and now you have a toxic, you know, demonic birthday

  144. party.

  145. And you gotta navigate life through that.

  146. That is the, that is your.

  147. That is our Adamic nature.

  148. That's what a theologian would call it, our sinful nature that we're

  149. born into.

  150. But here's the hope is that if you submit yourself to the Lord and

  151. you submit yourself to each other and you say, I'm gonna talk

  152. to her the way that I wish you would talk to me, baby, you just

  153. changed the game.

  154. And I began talking to you the way I wanted you to talk to me.

  155. And you started talking to me the way.

  156. The way that you wanted to hear me talk to you.

  157. And all of a sudden it's like that demonic stronghold of toxic

  158. communication was broken.

  159. That's it.

  160. It's so weird because, like, no, while you were talking, I felt

  161. like you were reading my mind.

  162. It was very weird.

  163. I was like, I just put the mic down.

  164. I was like, I'm not even needed right now because we're flowing

  165. in, like oneness.

  166. Because what I was going to say is, you speak what you want to

  167. see, not what you currently see.

  168. This is what everybody gets wrong.

  169. Like, a fool can speak what they see, but a wise person can speak

  170. what they want to see.

  171. This is like, call a man a good man and he will act like a good

  172. man.

  173. Call a man a bad man while he's being bad, and he'll be worse.

  174. I'm speaking in wisdom right now.

  175. Like, you tell a good man who's doing something bad that he's

  176. a bad man, he'll do something worse.

  177. But you tell a good man who's doing something bad that he's good

  178. and you'll remind him who he really is.

  179. See, I'm speaking in wisdom.

  180. A fool can just say, so.

  181. What happened was I was a good man wrestling with the evil parts

  182. of me.

  183. And what she had to do is keep reminding me of who I really was.

  184. Well, all I'm saying is, is that not how God treated you?

  185. It's like she's standing before the group of men who want

  186. to stone her to death.

  187. Literally throw rocks at her head till she dies.

  188. And Lord's like, he without sin cast the first stone.

  189. They all drop their stones and Jesus looks at the woman and says,

  190. go and sin no more.

  191. It's crazy how we marry people but never learn how to drop stones.

  192. It's crazy to me.

  193. And we show more grace to Kanye west.

  194. For real.

  195. Like, when our favorite celebrity messes up, we show them

  196. more grace than the person we walk down the aisle with.

  197. It's crazy.

  198. And so like a Kanye fan's like, yes, he needs so much help.

  199. He needs, so he does.

  200. We pray for him.

  201. That anti Semitic.

  202. I started going viral posting about Israel lately, and I was like,

  203. right on time, Holy Ghost.

  204. But what I think we learned is like, I started speaking and prophesying

  205. over you the opposite of what you think in your own head.

  206. You know, because the thing is, most people struggle with low

  207. self esteem, condemnation, feelings of inadequacy.

  208. So when you say mean things to them, all you're doing is confirming

  209. the voice of doubt in their own head.

  210. So I believe what spouses should be doing is speaking the opposite

  211. of what they think, the opposite of what they feel, the opposite.

  212. Like, you guys, many of you met me.

  213. Cause we're all best friends now.

  214. You met me in this season of my life where it's normal to be having

  215. churches all over the US this is not normal to me.

  216. In a previous season, I mean, I remember Julie literally yelling

  217. at me, but yelling at me, saying, you are gonna plant churches,

  218. many churches.

  219. Like, she had to literally yell it to me.

  220. Cause I didn't believe it.

  221. And that story I just told you, I was drunk out of my mind and

  222. I'm being really real.

  223. This wasn't last weekend.

  224. Everyone's like, this was like 15 years ago.

  225. Like 15 years ago, almost 20 years ago.

  226. I'm drunk out of my mind.

  227. I have no vision for this.

  228. I lost.

  229. The reason why I drank is because I was hopeless.

  230. And I was like, if I'm not gonna kill myself instantly, I'll

  231. do it progressively.

  232. That's what addiction is.

  233. And so I'm drunk out of my mind, can't see.

  234. And it was because my pastor fell into sin.

  235. All the pastors around him fell into sin.

  236. My dad died.

  237. My whole world collapsed within two year span.

  238. Everything that I had built my life on all collapsed.

  239. So I became so hopeless that I just embraced alcoholism.

  240. But what I'm saying is, so I wasn't this man of God anymore.

  241. I was in my lowest of low, completely drunk out of my mind.

  242. And my wife's yelling at me, you are gonna plant many churches

  243. that story.

  244. The older we get, the crazier that story is to me.

  245. Cause it's the.

  246. Who does that?

  247. But I believe the Holy Spirit in Julie.

  248. It was almost.

  249. I'm getting a revelation on stage.

  250. It was almost like Noah getting drunk on the boat, where

  251. it's like, you are.

  252. God did call you to get our family to somewhere else.

  253. And you're not going to keep getting drunk on this boat.

  254. And you are going to fulfill your destiny.

  255. And she covered my nakedness.

  256. That's what happened.

  257. She covered my nakedness.

  258. It was like, my husband is drunk out of his mind naked.

  259. But he's also Noah Devil.

  260. He's also Noah.

  261. And I feel like there's something powerful and I'm trying

  262. to get this to you.

  263. Cause this is what I hate.

  264. The biggest thing.

  265. I'm just gonna.

  266. I don't even care.

  267. The reason why I gained like 30 pounds in the last year is because

  268. I have never been lied about and lied on as much as I have in

  269. the last year.

  270. And it's crazy to me how much Christians just fabricate lies.

  271. And I wanted to fight for myself, defend myself.

  272. And it literally made me think I was gonna break this year.

  273. Like, I think I quit ministry in my mind like 50 times this year

  274. because I didn't realize how toxic the world is.

  275. I mean, it was levels of depravity that I didn't even think

  276. were possible by people claiming to be Christians on YouTube,

  277. Facebook, Instagram, the local church.

  278. And I did not realize how unhinged and crazy people could be.

  279. So for this last year, I have been dealing with.

  280. I did not know that Christians lied on that level and still think

  281. they're going to heaven.

  282. And there's been a lot of warfare over who is the true Mike.

  283. And I've wanted to defend myself, being like, man, if you only

  284. knew.

  285. It's vindicating.

  286. You know what I mean?

  287. And I'm not trying to make it awkward right now, but the reason

  288. why it's important for me to even say this stuff is because the

  289. world sees, like, oh, Mike wants more campuses.

  290. No, I wanted to die.

  291. It's like, the truth of the story is even crazier than what you

  292. think is the truth.

  293. It's not like I'm going around triumphantly planting all these churches.

  294. I was in the fetal position in our little apartment, completely

  295. wasted out of my mind.

  296. And my wife is screaming at me, no, you're gonna plant many churches.

  297. Like, this is not the destiny that.

  298. Because in my flesh, I just wanted to die.

  299. So I think that the reason why truth is so important is because

  300. what Julie was doing.

  301. And I want you to go deeper on this, babe, because you're not even

  302. really a prophet.

  303. So, like, this story is crazy.

  304. Like, I've been on stage with my wife all around the world, and

  305. 50 million times I've said, did God give you a word?

  306. And this is what she does.

  307. Every time, the same thing.

  308. Then she goes, no.

  309. I said this morning I wasn't gonna bust you out.

  310. He looked at me and said, do.

  311. You have a word?

  312. And I'm.

  313. I always pause because I'm like, hey, if God's gonna give me

  314. one, I'll take it.

  315. You see me close, you could roll it back in the live stream.

  316. I looked at him, I said, no, bro, I ain't got nothing.

  317. But you do it like this.

  318. She tries.

  319. She tries.

  320. I do.

  321. I'm like.

  322. And then she goes, no, no.

  323. And she goes back.

  324. So no one sees her go, no, because I'm not a lid.

  325. I love putting people into their gifting or whatever.

  326. So my point is, this is why I've said all that.

  327. This is why I said all that.

  328. I think the farther we get on this journey, like, you're seeing

  329. my highlights, but you're not seeing my low lights.

  330. You're not seeing the cutting room floor.

  331. You're not seeing the.

  332. You see the stage.

  333. You need to see the backstage.

  334. Cause it was crazy for someone who's not a prophet to prophesy.

  335. It was crazy for a drunk guy to receive a word about planting

  336. multiple churches.

  337. Everything that you've experienced in my life in this season

  338. is a legit miracle.

  339. So it's like when some of you guys are like, oh, you don't know

  340. my husband, bro.

  341. You don't know who I used to be.

  342. Your husband is double the man I used to be.

  343. Are you kidding me?

  344. The raw material of your husband is two times greater than

  345. the raw material of me.

  346. It's like Paul says.

  347. I'm the chief among sinners.

  348. Are you kidding me?

  349. I used to kill Christians.

  350. You're telling me you can't do what God called you to do?

  351. I was worse than your husband.

  352. Some people are like, oh, I wish I had Mike as my husband.

  353. You better wish again.

  354. Feel sorry for this woman, but you don't know that version of me.

  355. But her words.

  356. Her words.

  357. She didn't say, you're drunk.

  358. She said, you're a church planter.

  359. A fool can say what they see, but the wise will prophesy what they

  360. want to see.

  361. This is why the.

  362. This is the true.

  363. You want the true story?

  364. I was worse than what you said about me, but my future is better

  365. than what you said, too.

  366. You feel that?

  367. So this is why.

  368. Come on.

  369. Somebody in the back felt that.

  370. Let me read you a verse.

  371. Joshua, chapter 24 and 14 and 15.

    Joshua 24 chapter mention

  372. Joshua, chapter 24, verses 14 and 15.

    Joshua 24:14

  373. Joshua is calling the people of God to renew their commitment

  374. and covenant.

  375. It's like, renew.

  376. It's their covenant with God.

  377. And this parallels our marriage, our ministry, our calling.

  378. There's intervals where we have to renew our covenant now.

  379. And that's what Julie was doing when I got drunk in that story.

  380. I was basically trespassing on that covenant.

  381. And it was like Julie was calling me into a point of renew.

  382. Renew the covenant.

  383. So earlier in this service, I did something very intentional to

  384. make this sermon like an illustrated sermon.

  385. When I said, hey, if V1 Church is not your church, stop complaining

  386. about it and just go find another church.

  387. Because we need to renew our covenant.

  388. That's a biblical mandate.

  389. But we also need to do this in our marriage.

  390. Have you ever heard of a vow renewal?

  391. It's a very similar situation.

  392. Like, the man that made my vows to her is not the man that's

  393. sitting on this stage.

  394. So I have to renew my vows in every season of my life.

  395. And so that you have to do that with the church.

  396. You might have come into V1.

  397. Being like, this church is amazing, but over time, you're lacking

  398. covenant.

  399. You become intoxicated like I was, and you need somebody to yell

  400. at you and prophesy, this is where we're going.

  401. Renew your covenant.

  402. And so this is, I think, something, Julie, that me and you

  403. have learned over the years is to renew our covenant.

  404. So can you maybe speak about what it means, because I feel like

  405. for you, you're good at renewing that covenant.

  406. And I look at it like a baptism.

  407. Like, let me ask you, the audience, before I kick it back to

  408. Jules.

  409. When you go down into the water, what is that a symbol of dying?

  410. Death.

  411. Right.

  412. So when you're up here, it's commitment.

  413. I'm committed to Christ.

  414. But it doesn't become covenant until you go into the water and die

  415. to self, and then you join with his resurrection.

  416. So death to self going into that water, sharing in the death

  417. is how you go from commitment above the water to.

  418. To covenant below the water.

  419. And then you come back up.

  420. Is that a revelation?

  421. Because why?

  422. And let me ask you this.

  423. Don't be offended.

  424. I come from Sicilian Catholic family.

  425. But sprinkling is nowhere in Scripture.

  426. Sprinkling is commitment.

  427. Submersion is covenant.

  428. That's only in the Bible do you find full submersion.

  429. Why?

  430. Well, you're gonna.

  431. Your.

  432. Your whole wig, your makeup, everything's going in the water.

  433. Your underwear, everything's going in that water.

  434. It's nasty.

  435. It's going to reveal you.

  436. You know what I'm saying?

  437. Like, there's something about full submersion that is necessary

  438. because you can't halfway covenant.

  439. Does that make sense?

  440. So some of you want to sprinkle your covenant to V1, sprinkle

  441. your covenant to marriage.

  442. Sprinkle your covenant.

  443. It's like, no, the word of God is very clear.

  444. It's all or nothing.

  445. And I believe that that's what.

  446. So can you speak maybe a little bit about how you've been

  447. able to go through seasons of renewal, which is like a re.

  448. Baptism or resubmersion?

  449. I mean, conflict will test your covenant for sure.

  450. Like, your wedding is a sprinkle.

  451. Your first crisis is the test of your covenant.

  452. Come on.

  453. I remember we went to, you know, like, a baby baptism, and one

  454. of the guys, you know how they're, like, wheeling out the keg

  455. into the.

  456. I'm like, what are we doing here?

  457. This is a church.

  458. I'm so confused.

  459. But right before, you know, this was like, someone we loosely

  460. knew and we were just going to support, and they said little Emily

  461. just got her ticket to heaven.

  462. And I'm like, who's going to tell him?

  463. You know?

  464. And I think sometimes we have our wedding, and we're like, that's

  465. it.

  466. We're in covenant.

  467. It's like, no, you have not hit a crisis yet.

  468. Your crisis will test your covenant.

  469. That's why in church life it's not about when things are good, it's

  470. about when things aren't good.

  471. Where's.

  472. Where's the test of your covenant?

  473. What's the depth of it?

  474. And some of you are covenanted to be right.

  475. You made a covenant to be right.

  476. You made a covenant to wear the pants.

  477. You made a covenant to have control.

  478. You made a covenant to be intimate, but you didn't make a covenant

  479. to the person.

  480. You didn't make a covenant to the commitment, to the generational

  481. commitment that it takes to, you know, you can't pray.

  482. Blessings over your kids marriage.

  483. If you have a toxic one, there's something you gotta line

  484. it up right.

  485. So I wanna encourage you guys, like, when it comes to like that

  486. recommitment.

  487. I look at, you know, every day, every day I'm recommitting my

  488. salvation to the Lord.

  489. I'm like, lord, I'm dying to myself.

  490. The Bible says that we die daily.

  491. And in our marriage covenant, we die daily.

  492. We have good days and we have bad days.

  493. And I'm thankful that our bad days are much fewer and far between.

  494. But there are days when I get on your nerves.

  495. Yeah.

  496. I was just thinking our bad days are your fault now.

  497. Yeah.

  498. Now that I'm sober, it's pretty.

  499. Watch it.

  500. But you know what?

  501. I know I'm annoying.

  502. Yes.

  503. I know.

  504. I'm like, give me a hug, give me a kiss.

  505. Like, when are we gonna go out?

  506. You know I'm very annoying.

  507. I know that.

  508. But I.

  509. But like, we have to make a commitment daily.

  510. This is not crisis to crisis.

  511. This is not decade to decade.

  512. This is every day.

  513. Are you willing to die to yourself?

  514. To live for Jesus and to live for your spouse?

  515. Yeah.

  516. I wanna talk about the covenant that people make to imaginations.

  517. Because sometimes you can have this like, spouse in your mind, you

  518. know, and we talked about this.

  519. There's a lot of women that we talk to that it's not even a sexual

  520. fantasy.

  521. It's actually like this person in their mind that they're like,

  522. this person treats me this way, talks to me this way.

  523. And it almost can be parallel to like a spiritual spouse where

  524. people have this covenant or this commitment to a fantasy, and

  525. the real person they're with does not align with that fantasy.

  526. So sometimes you have to break up with a fantasy so that you can

  527. covenant with the reality.

  528. And that's something for me.

  529. Like, I used to have a fantasy of what you were gonna be like.

  530. And I've had to be like, no.

  531. Am I in love with the Real Julie, or the fantasy of what Julie

  532. could be.

  533. And you know, because it's like, sometimes I'd be like, man,

  534. I want us to have deep conversations.

  535. And Julie's like, there's just some times where, you know.

  536. Cause for me, if I go staring off into the distance, I'm thinking,

  537. like deep philosophical thoughts.

  538. I've looked over at Julie and she's like this.

  539. And I'm like, babe, what are you thinking about?

  540. Tell me your heart.

  541. And she was like, nothing.

  542. And I'd be like, no, no, seriously, tell me.

  543. I want to talk with you.

  544. And she's just like, nothing.

  545. And she was like, do you remember those old televisions where

  546. you would go on Channel one and it would be like.

  547. She's like, that's what's in my brain right now.

  548. I, I, I'm not seeing anything, hearing anything.

  549. I'm, When I look.

  550. So for me, looking into the distance is like Rain Man 16, 24

  551. or 32.

  552. And it's just this and this guy here.

  553. And the Lord says this.

  554. And then over here, this says, yes, let's, and when.

  555. And then Julie, we're both looking into the distance and Julie

  556. springs going.

  557. It'S beautiful.

  558. And I'm so thankful it's the same thing.

  559. Because we lay down to go to sleep.

  560. And I lay down and my brain goes.

  561. And then Julie lays down.

  562. She goes.

  563. And then you look over at me and it's two in the morning.

  564. Hello, darkness, my old friend, you know, And I'm doing prayer

  565. vigils.

  566. Oh, Lord, please.

  567. And all this stuff.

  568. And the whole time through every watch of the night.

  569. Like a week ago, he was in the living room just sweating.

  570. I mean, travailing, like, in prayer.

  571. He was like, how did you sleep?

  572. I'm like, great.

  573. I'm like, I'm literally getting attacked by principalities

  574. coming in my room.

  575. Who are you?

  576. Man of God.

  577. Satan sent me.

  578. And I'm like, battling it out.

  579. And then all of a sudden, Julie's in the other room like this,

  580. for, I kid you not, this room.

  581. And I was like, devil, go fight.

  582. Julie's like, I ain't worried about her.

  583. She ain't doing nothing.

  584. She ain't high rank.

  585. Yeah.

  586. This is what you.

  587. You think we're joking?

  588. We are not joking.

  589. And I know he's annoyed.

  590. And I'm like, man, I ain't gonna apologize.

  591. I ain't slept good in a week.

  592. I'm grateful.

  593. But you know what it is in a good marriage, it's like, I need

  594. to learn how to turn it off.

  595. And she needs to learn how to turn it on.

  596. And we.

  597. Because somewhere in the middle is a saint that represents

  598. our oneness, that knows when to pray and knows when to sleep.

  599. Because she got the revelation of Jesus in the boat, and I've got

  600. the revelation of Jesus in the garden.

  601. But they were both Jesus.

  602. So it's like to her, if you don't get in the garden, you know,

  603. but then for me, if I don't learn how to fall asleep, I don't

  604. make it to the garden.

  605. This is revelation.

  606. So the thing that you don't like about your spouse could be the

  607. very thing that God's using for them to disciple you in.

  608. Oh, I'm speaking to somebody.

  609. And I would not.

  610. Don't be trying to make your spouse.

  611. John Eckhart.

  612. I was literally just gonna say that really?

  613. Like, what if your spouse wanting to go to the jets game is

  614. actually what your soul needs?

  615. And what if you started going the jets game, he'll start going

  616. to church.

  617. It's like, you know, because this is a relationship.

  618. Like, what if.

  619. What if the Lord's like, hey, you are a powerful intercessor, but

  620. you're also kind of boring and you need to be balanced.

  621. I'm talking to myself, you know, so if you got jets tickets.

  622. But you see how, like, because it is both, like, the disciples were

  623. eating and drinking with Christ, and they got this reputation

  624. of being gluttons and drunkards and gluttons, because they're

  625. traveling around, they're laughing.

  626. But then also, Jesus said, be sober and vigilant.

  627. It's time to pray.

  628. And it depended on what season.

  629. There's a season of suffering, there's a season of celebration.

  630. So I think a lot of times couples are like, I wish my husband.

  631. And it's like, yes, but your husband will get there.

  632. But what is he doing that he wishes you would do?

  633. And why don't you guys start sowing and investing in each other?

  634. Cause that helps.

  635. And we've learned how to do that.

  636. But just to kind of come to a close, babe.

  637. Because, by the way, if you're like, man, I want more of this.

  638. You know, this Friday at 9:00pm Eastern Standard Time, we're

  639. gonna do the third installment of our marriage, and we're gonna

  640. keep going.

  641. We got two more sessions, even after this one's over.

  642. But just like baptism, just like covenant renewal, the last thing

  643. I wanted to talk about was what are some practical ways?

  644. Because it's like, I feel like I rep in our marriage.

  645. I represent the supernatural.

  646. She Represents the super practical, right?

  647. I'm fasting, she's snacking.

  648. That's literally.

  649. I kid you not, that's literally how it is.

  650. But listen, I fasted till 4pm that sun was down.

  651. I was like, I'm in.

  652. I'm all in.

  653. I thought we were.

  654. Last week, I thought we were doing a water only fast all week,

  655. a water only fast.

  656. And all of a sudden it's like 4:15.

  657. I'm like.

  658. And I smell.

  659. And I'm like, jules, did you eat?

  660. She.

  661. It was gloomy outside.

  662. I said, the sun went down.

  663. I said, you're doing a sun up.

  664. The sundown.

  665. I thought this was.

  666. She's like, the sun went down early today.

  667. Play that piano.

  668. Come on now.

  669. Come on, somebody.

  670. But.

  671. But this is real life because we're joking about it now.

  672. I would actually.

  673. The old me would have been mad at her for real.

  674. And I would have found out she ate, and I'd be like, what's wrong

  675. with you?

  676. You've never fasted more than a day like this.

  677. Blah, blah, blah.

  678. It's like.

  679. But now I go in the room and I'm like, did you eat?

  680. You know, and we're laughing about it because it's funny.

  681. And I'll duke it out with the principality while she sleeps.

  682. Because you know what?

  683. I'm the man of the house and it's my job to be fighting the principalities

  684. anyways.

  685. You know what I mean?

  686. She's the queen in the castle, and I'm Super Mario and I know what

  687. to do.

  688. Come on.

  689. I know what to do, girl.

  690. But what if I told you that God could take you to a place of

  691. covenant where you laugh about the things you used to fight about?

  692. It's all about perspective.

  693. Because I stopped wanting Julie to be something she wasn't.

  694. And I broke the vow with an imagination.

  695. And I started saying, God, what is it about her life I'm supposed

  696. to learn?

  697. And Julie's ministry to me is, learn how to turn your brain off,

  698. Mike.

  699. Because your greatest asset is your greatest liability.

  700. So there's.

  701. There is a wisdom in it, and I can't.

  702. Every time we minister to couples and we sit with them in,

  703. you know, marriage counseling sessions, I'm telling you not every

  704. time, but probably eight or nine out of ten times.

  705. They're telling me the whole time how we messed up, we're not

  706. good for each other, this isn't right.

  707. And then two, three sessions in, I'm laughing, I'm like, you guys

  708. are perfect for each other.

  709. You just don't know how, you don't know how.

  710. So that's what this is.

  711. This is us going back to that.

  712. So I want to pray for you in the next several moments.

  713. But let me minister this last thing.

  714. What was the first ministry, the first miracle that Jesus did

  715. in ministry?

  716. He turned water to wine.

  717. Right?

  718. And this is the wedding at Cana.

  719. So the very first, the very first miracle that's recorded is

  720. the water turning into wine.

  721. And it was a wedding ceremony.

  722. So let me give you the revelation of that.

  723. Water always stays water.

  724. Wine is wine after a process.

  725. But when Jesus is in the midst, he can expedite that process

  726. and take the ordinary and make it extraordinary.

  727. So the thing is, when you bring Jesus into your marriage, he

  728. can take a normal, everyday, just water and turn it into something

  729. extraordinary.

  730. So here's the thing.

  731. I am just water.

  732. You're water.

  733. Like we're just ordinary people.

  734. And left to myself, you know, this is even a deeper revelation.

  735. What happens to stagnant water?

  736. What happens to stagnant water?

  737. Yeah, stagnant water begins to grow, mold, mildew film and becomes

  738. poisonous.

  739. But wine can sit in a jar for hundreds of years.

  740. So what happened was you leave Mike Signorelli to myself.

  741. I'm dead already.

  742. I'm not even alive to tell this sermon.

  743. You leave Julie to herself and she's riding a full four wheeler

  744. and Rensselier and you know, living a hillbilly life.

  745. You know, never preach to the nations.

  746. I'm not trying to sell her out.

  747. She needs a little pushing into her ministry.

  748. You know, you need that, a good push because left to yourself,

  749. you're not going to push yourself.

  750. So it's like, but that's stagnant water.

  751. So I die and go to hell.

  752. Julie goes to heaven without rewards.

  753. That truly is, I believe what was written for us in the natural

  754. is Mike.

  755. I believe in the natural, that was the destiny.

  756. Mike goes to hell and Julie goes to heaven without rewards.

  757. And if you don't understand spiritual rewards, read the New Testament

  758. this week.

  759. So Julie goes to heaven without rewards and Mike goes to

  760. hell.

  761. That was what in the natural was written.

  762. Just like water doesn't ever turn into wine, when Jesus comes

  763. into the room, you can be transformed into something that you

  764. could never make yourself into that lasts and remains.

  765. And I'm telling you, my life is wine.

  766. I remember when we moved to this region, Julie, that prophet

  767. told you, he said, where's your husband?

  768. I wasn't even in the room.

  769. And our church was brand new.

  770. I think we had 50 people in this church.

  771. And he said, the Lord's given your husband a key, and it's a key

  772. in the shape of a wine glass.

  773. And he's going to put that key into this region and turn that key.

  774. And the wine of the Holy Ghost is going to flow from Long island

  775. all the way to the nations, and it's going to be a wine of revival.

  776. And I believe it's a restoration of marriages, like Jesus

  777. in the wedding ceremony of Canaan.

  778. So I want to prophesy over your marriage.

  779. If you're with your spouse right now, grab their hand.

  780. If you're not, it's okay.

  781. But if they are, just grab their hand, because I want to pray

  782. over your marriage.

  783. If you're single, you need to break the fantasy with the spirit

  784. spouse.

  785. Break the fantasy with this thing in your head.

  786. And, Julie, I'm going to ask that you pray.

  787. And if the Lord gave you a word, you go ahead and give it, girl.

  788. But we're gonna pray right now because I believe that the Lord's

  789. gonna turn water into wine because he's a God of covenant.

  790. And as you renew that covenant, even if your spouse isn't

  791. here, and you're gonna go home and renew that covenant, I believe

  792. that the Lord is gonna do something powerful.

  793. A few months ago, during the Bible study that we were doing online,

  794. we talked about the wedding at Cana, and one of the things, you

  795. know, as we were studying the Word, is where exactly did the miracle

  796. happen?

  797. Did it happen in the vats?

  798. Did it happen in the cup?

  799. Did it happen immediately?

  800. Did it happen when he took a sip?

  801. Did he happen while he was walking with the cup?

  802. We don't know.

  803. But what I know is that it did happen.

  804. Some of you, in your marriage, I don't know when the miracle is

  805. going to happen for you.

  806. I don't know if it's.

  807. You're gonna take a step first, and God's gonna do a miracle.

  808. I don't know if you're gonna take 50 steps and God's gonna do

  809. a miracle.

  810. But what I know is that a miracle is on the way.

  811. Lord, we thank you.

  812. Come on.

  813. For the miracle in marriage.

  814. God, we thank you that there are people that can't even utter

  815. the things that they faced out loud.

  816. And, God, in five years, they're going to be laughing at dinner

  817. about the things that they overcame, that it ends in joy, it

  818. ends in restoration, it ends in hope, it ends in renewal, it ends

  819. in freedom.

  820. And, God, I thank you for the miracle that is on the way that we're

  821. not gonna keep a scorecard of the time frame.

  822. Lord, you forgot about me.

  823. We're not going to shake our fists at God.

  824. We're going to be faithful to carry the cup to the master.

  825. Lord, you said you would do it.

  826. I don't know if it's happening in this step or the next, but it

  827. is going to happen.

  828. And God, we thank you for what is on the way in our marriages.

  829. God, let it be today.

  830. But if it isn't today, God, we will be sure to stand on your word

  831. because you do not lie in Jesus name.

  832. Sa.
