Palm Sunday: When Affirmation Becomes an Addiction. (The Childhood Wound) | He Is Alive! | Apostle Mike Signorelli

This is Palm Sunday, and let's look at the scriptures together.

So, mijo, I don't care how young you are, you better look.

Mita, look.

Did I say it right?

Okay, fluent.

Somebody said, they're prophesying.

So look at the word together.

So they.

There's a crowd.

There's they.

This is the original Palm Sunday.

They took branches of palm trees, so.

Branches of palm trees.

And what did they do?

They went out to meet him.

This is Jesus.

And they're crying out, hosanna.

Hosanna.

And it's like the most epic worship service ever.

And they're saying, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Even the King of Israel.

And I'm telling you, when they said even the King of Israel, people

probably like, yeah, the king.

I mean, it was crazy.

You know?

Like, those worship services.

How many of you have been to V1 before?

How many?

Is this your church?

Okay?

I said, is this your church?

Someone's like, people from my other iglesia are going to see me.

Okay?

I'm going to swat you with this.

So, you know, we've had worship services here where we're

all literally bawling our eyes out.

You know that moment where the glory of the Lord starts to come

down and you're like, oh, Jesus.

You know those moments, the ones that our social media team catch

me crying, and then they put it on the clip and do me dirty like

that, where it's me, like, so you know how they do every time I'm

like, you're fired.

And they're like, I don't even work here.

Oh, man.

But the thing about those worship services is that we're crying

out before the Lord, and there's just such a certainty in

the room, and it's such a powerful moment.

That's really what this was like.

But let me put it in the historic context, so I'm gonna go

deep.

All right?

So stay with me.

It had been 400 years of them waiting for the Messiah, 400 years

of them groaning and travailing and crying and praying

out and, oh, Lord, just send us our Messiah.

And the Jewish understanding of Messiah was not just, he's gonna

forgive my sins, and I'm gonna go to heaven.

The Jewish understanding of Messiah was we are living under Roman

occupation, and this Roman Empire is so large and expansive,

and we're subjected to their rules and their laws and their.

And they treat us poorly.

The Roman people treated them poorly.

And so the Jews were a group of people living subjugated to a

Larger group of people.

So for years, they had this sentiment that our Messiah's coming,

and when he comes up, he's going to take care of all y'all.

Like, it was like, when your big brother comes to the playground,

you're like, oh, keep messing with me, because when my brother

comes, he gonna take care of all y'all.

It was like they kind of had this feeling of like, listen, we're

under Roman occupation now, but when our Messiah comes, he's

whooping all y'all butts that.

My mom's all excited about that.

I don't know.

She loves to just whoop.

She's like, yes, whoop.

Those Romans.

Mom, the Romans are gone.

They don't even exist anymore.

They've already been whooped.

But let me tell you why this is important, because I'm trying

to give you the historic context.

Jesus comes riding down the Kidron Valley on a donkey, not a

white horse.

Kings, military kings and generals ride on white horses.

Now, let me ask you a biblical question.

Is Jesus eventually gonna come riding on a white horse?

Okay, follow me.

But in this picture, he comes down on a donkey.

It's almost as if he was trying to tell them, y'all are missing

it, because your expectations are not my expectation.

And the thing that you want is not the wrong thing.

It's just, you want it out of order.

The thing that you want is not the wrong thing.

It's just not time for that thing.

And how you want to get that thing is not how you're going to

get that thing.

And so they're crying out, hosanna.

Blessed is he who came in the name of the Lord.

Oh, this is our Messiah.

This is our Savior.

And then the Jewish people would have been saying in Hebrew,

yashana, Yashana, Yashana, Yashana.

And they would have been spinning in four different directions,

because that basically means deliver now.

Deliver now.

Deliver now.

Yashana.

It even sounds like Yeshua, deliver now.

And so they would have been doing that, because if you read the

Talmud and their religious texts, they understood that going

in each direction was symbolic of.

Deliver us politically.

Deliver us from our political rivals.

Deliver us in our bodies, in our minds, in our spirit.

There was complete, in total, 360 degrees of deliverance.

Before I go a step further, how many of you believe that whom

the sun sets free is free indeed?

How many of you believe that yashana is for you and I.

Come on.

Deliver me God from my body and these addictions, but forgive

me of my mind and my anxiety.

Forgive me of my finances and release me from this.

Yashana is the promise that we have.

The problem is this branch represents a promise, but you don't

get the promise without pain.

You don't get the promise without process.

So there's nothing wrong with declaring Yashana.

But there's some people who want to be delivered but not disciplined.

There's some people, oh, it's getting real quiet up in here.

I hope it's louder in the other campuses.

There's some people who want the absence of a demon, but not the

presence of the Holy Spirit.

There's some.

Oh, come on.

In the 2020s, when I started going viral on the Internet as being

one of the demon slayers, people got plane tickets and flew

out from all over the world to come here and.

And they were saying, yashana, Yashana, deliver me.

Deliver me.

But some of those people have already relapsed.

And the Bible says when a demon gets cast out, it goes roaming

around arid places and it comes back to its home, finding that

it's been swept clean and brings seven more with it.

So there are some people who declare deliver me who are in a worse

position than before the deliverance because they wanted deliverance,

but not discipleship.

Oh, come on.

I'll preach to you today.

Deliver me.

Okay, the deliverance is over.

Bring your Bible.

And you're serving on the coffee team.

Oh, no, not me.

I'm part of the ecclesia.

I'm a bishop.

I'm an apostle.

Apostles don't hand out coffee.

Come on, I'm talking to somebody right now.

They wanted.

They wanted resurrection without death.

They wanted the power of God without the persecution that you

experience.

They.

They didn't want to walk the Via Della Rosa.

They didn't want to walk the narrow path.

They didn't.

Come on.

And this is what my life was like.

People flying out, oh, I'm going to V1 church.

I'm going to get my freedom.

Okay, now root yourself in V1 church.

Oh, no, no, no, I'm not going to root myself.

Oh, no.

I'm rooted in the Bible.

I'm root.

Well, did you skip the part where people were martyred to start

churches?

I'm telling you because God was giving an opportunity, but people

missed.

It's like you want the white horse experience triumphant king

of kings, but you don't want the humility of riding a donkey in

down the Kidron Valley.

You want the branch, but you don't want the cross.

You want the resurrection, but you don't want the death.

You want the ministry, but you don't want the servanthood.

See, there's all come on.

And that's they.

It's always the people with the pronouns.

They took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying

out, hosanna.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Well, I'm just saying.

I mean, isn't that how Legion talk?

For we are many.

Come on now, somebody.

I'm just trying to help you today.

How many personalities am I talking to?

You and every demon in you.

I'm trying to help somebody right now.

There has to be a death.

There has to be deliverance and discipleship.

You cannot be in position until you're submitted to authority.

It's just.

There's something about this.

But you know what's funny is when you hold a deliverance service,

people fly out.

And when you hold a church service, they won't even drive out.

This is the narrow road.

If I ask you to sing on the worship team, you show up to church.

But if I ask you to serve coffee to the worship team, you don't

come to church.

This is what the American church is in China, where they're

literally being tortured.

I sat down and met with an underground Church of China representative

when I was in Southeast Asia, and he kept telling me all about

it.

My eyes were getting all big, and I was like, oh, I'm going, man.

I'm going.

And Julie's behind me.

You're not going.

You're not going.

So as of right now, I'm not released by my spiritual authority

to go to China.

But he told me, he said, mike, in China, they buy two phones.

One to keep at home as the decoy for the find my, and the other

one to go to the underground church in a home.

They have to stagger when they show up to the home, and they come

in one or two at a time, and it takes them hours and hours to

accumulate to the point where there's enough of them gathered secretly

to have a service.

Because if they all come to the house at the same time, it'll

tip off the locals.

So it takes them hours and hours and hours of accumulating.

Then when they finally reach a critical mass of their underground

church, they said, mike, if you come to China to preach, we demand

that you preach no less than six, six hours.

And I said, I would be in heaven because you preach for one

hour in America.

And they say, we're not going next Sunday because he took too long.

You preached for four hours in China and they said, give us two

more, cuz we could die for hearing this message.

You better make it worth it.

Maybe some of you need more persecution in America before you

actually become a real disciple.

Maybe they need to ban it before you think it's cool enough

to show up for.

And I mean, that's what's happening right now in the United

Kingdom.

By the way, in the United Kingdom, there was legislation that

was just proposed that would make it illegal to preach on the

streets.

And even if somebody agrees for you to pray for them, it would

be illegal to publicly pray for them.

And there's another country where somebody went to jail for praying

in their head, across the street from a place where they were

committing abortions.

Maybe we need more persecution.

Now, why do I say that?

Because I'm trying.

This is probably the worst Palm Sunday message in America right

now, but the one that is needed the most.

Because when you tell the American church that you're gonna

be wealthy, that you're gonna be blessed and happy, you fill up

stadiums.

But when you tell them, who wants to die with me?

Everybody stays home.

But I will tell you this.

I didn't start a church because I wanted a big church.

I started a church because I came to New York City to find the

real ones.

And I got good news.

I found the real ones in Brooklyn.

I found the real ones in Manhattan.

I found the real ones in New Jersey.

I found the real ones in Miami.

And we might be.

There might be 10 million people out this door, and there might

be a thousand here.

But I'll tell you what.

Give me Gideon's army, because I can do more with the real ones.

Come on, give me 300 real ones.

I'll do more than 300,000 fake ones any day of the week.

So this is the day they took branches of palms and they went out

to meet him, crying out hosanna.

And here's what's crazy.

The same crowd that shouted Deliver us later shouted, crucify

him.

Oh, I found this church.

It's called V1 Church.

Oh, you don't understand that Pastor, he came off the stage and

laid hands on me and prayed for me.

He's so relatable that I'm telling you.

Oh, it was.

And you know what?

He let service go long and prophesied over us for an hour.

And I was just bawling my eyes out.

And he gave us some Greek words and Hebrew words and a little

bit of his story.

And he relatable and he does Spanglish.

I just love it.

Oh, and he has a YouTube where he talks about Leviathan and he talks

about Jezebel and Ahab and he even talks about the Nephilim.

Oh, I knew he was my favorite pastor.

He even talks about the Nephilim.

My last pastor would never talk about the Nephilim.

My last pastor never prophesied.

My last pastor never came off the stage.

Oh, Mike, I love him.

Him.

Six months later, terrible pastor, doesn't know what he's doing

at all.

Oh, yeah, And Eddie, let me tell you, he's even worse.

Eddie, I don't care what they say about you.

I love you.

I'm just.

Oh, and then his mom.

Have you seen her on the Internet?

Sandra?

Who does she think she is, wearing all those hats like she's

French, Huh?

I just gotta have fun with my mom.

We love you.

Why do I say this, though?

Because this is how they are.

They.

They will.

They will cry hosanna one week and crucify the next.

It'll be the best church and the worst church.

Even though the church never changed their perspective because

they were never seen in the spirit.

They were always seen in the flesh, or they were always seeing

in the soulish realm.

So the only thing that changed is there is them.

But Jesus remains the same to those that even switch it up.

Because he said eventually, when they're saying crucify him,

he's saying, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

And so here's my heart posture towards you, even though I was playing.

Even though I was playing and I was trying to have a little fun

with it.

Don't eat your pastor for lunch.

Because people will go to church on Sunday and then eat their

pastor for lunch.

What does that mean?

That means that how are you?

How are blessings and curses gonna come out of the same mouth?

Oh, well, I'm just.

I'm not criticizing.

I'm evaluating.

Come on.

The devil is a liar.

But why do I say this?

Because people are fickle.

People who don't see in the spirit, people who have their mind

made up about the way things should be.

And you know what?

Cancel culture is worse in the church than it is in the world.

But see, wherever there's the culture of honor.

See, the thing is, I find it interesting because if you go back

to the verses, they call him king, but they don't necessarily

have a full revelation.

Remember when Jesus turned and said, who do you say I am?

See, here's the thing.

I'm praying that our church begins to see each other for who

they really are, not what people say they are, not even what

your wound says they are, not what your wound says that you are.

See, here's the thing, and we're gonna go a little bit deeper

right now.

In Matthew, chapter 27, verse 22, Pilate said, then what shall

Matthew 27:22

I do with Jesus, who's called the Christ?

So even Pilate, who is a secular politician, said, y'all call

him the Christ, and what should I do with this guy?

And this is what they said.

They look, here it is.

There's the pronoun people.

They said, let him be crucified.

And he said, why?

What evil has he done?

But they shouted all the more, let him be crucified.

And this is how you'll get those kind of people that their evaluation

is always connected to something that's not even sin.

They couldn't even properly respond with what Jesus did.

And that's the evidence that they were operating from a preference,

because it's like, how did he sin?

Well, we don't know, Cruz.

Kill him, though.

We're not here to make things better.

We're here to destroy them.

That same spirit is also trying to destroy the bride of Christ.

I can tell you what I don't like, even if it's not sin, but I'm

here to declare death, not life.

See?

And this is that spirit that's behind it.

And it's real quiet right now, but I'm just offending every demon

in hell, and I'm okay with it.

Because the same spirit that was behind crucifying Christ, if

you follow the story of Judas, who was the purse holder of the disciples,

the Bible gives an account that when Judas was offended at the

way that that woman with her lavish generosity, just poured that

oil upon Jesus, it said that out of that offense that Satan forcibly

entered his heart.

And you remember, it wasn't just the crowd that crucified Jesus.

It was Jesus, CFO because he was mad about how the money was being

spent.

As a matter of fact, the Bible also gives account that Judas was

casting demons out before he betrayed Jesus.

So that means even somebody that did deliverance around them

actually had a demon come up in the inside of them.

I got a revelation for some of you.

Sometimes you're dealing with the crowd, and sometimes you're dealing

with a Judas.

But you're always dealing with the spirit behind the crowd and Judas.

And I'm clapping back at the demon behind all of it, saying, you

will not kill that which God has designated to go forth in the

earth.

And that same spirit of murder ain't gonna come up here and rob

what God has.

Because they're always crying, crucify him.

And they're never crying, God, crucify me.

Yeah, that part.

Come on, make her a deacon.

Print it out right now in the back before service is over.

Girl.

Y'all hear what I'm saying?

They were so willing, see, they wanted Jesus to be their president.

That's the way of thinking about it.

It'd be like all of us marching to Capitol Hill right now

and be like, we're done with you, Donald.

We want Jesus in.

That's how literal it was.

Then when they found out he came riding on a donkey, not riding

on a horse, and that he was a suffering servant instead of being

a politician, they got mad and said, yeah, just go ahead and kill

him.

Why?

Because we're done using him.

And that's how a lot of people.

Oh, the church helped me get delivered from my anxiety and my.

Oh, oh, my.

The church helped me get through.

I'm done using it.

So crucify it.

See, is the point crucifixion or is the point covenant?

Crucifixion is a stop on the destination to covenant.

And there's these people that were crying, crucify him.

But they didn't realize that to be a disciple, the real cry is,

crucify me as Christ was crucified.

In other words, show me how to die so I can die like you.

This is what the Lord's trying to get into each and every one of

you.

And so watch.

They wanted a political king, but he came as a suffering servant.

They wanted crowns, but he came with a cross.

Everybody wants the crown.

Nobody wants the cross.

The real question is, will you be willing to go through the cross

to get the crown?

This is the heart of a true disciple.

You know, people say, accept Jesus Christ and you'll be healthy

and wealthy and happy.

Well, let me just tell you this.

The end destination is that you'll be healthy, whether it's on

this life or the other side.

The end destination is that you'll have joy in the fullness of

joy.

The end destination is that you're gonna have abundance and overflow.

So they're only half telling the truth when they tell the gospel.

But the thing is, the gospel without the cross and only a crown

is actually no gospel at all.

But then I would say on the converse, the gospel with a cross

but no crown is also no gospel at all.

It's Both, but it's how you get them and when you get them.

So let's talk about this branch right now.

So you all got a branch in your hand at every location.

In ancient times, this branch represented victory.

As a matter of fact, it's like when nascar.

Because I'm half hillbilly, you know, when nascar.

So when you got the NASCAR and you're there.

Am I right, Mom?

Mama.

The nascar, when they come over that finish line, my favorite

thing is watching people in New York City with their windows

rolled down, listening to country music.

That's a phenomenon here in the city.

Some of you, it's you.

It's like they got the car windows rolled down and they're driving

past and they're like fully thugged out.

And the song's like, my dog died, my wife died, everybody died.

And I'm seeing them just sing it out.

And I'm like, you don't know nothing about that country life.

Nothing about that.

And they're like, yeah, but I was in the military for a while,

and, you know, all my hillbilly friends turned me onto

this.

You know, here's my point is when you're thinking about.

When you're thinking about all this, okay, when you're thinking

about the crown and the cross, when you have this moment, and hopefully

this hits home, okay, when you have this moment where God is trying

to take you through the valley of death, there's going to be despair,

there's going to be hopelessness, there's going to be

sorrow.

But sorrow is not a cycle.

It's a season.

And he will take you through that process.

And when you look at this, what this represented more was a

promise and a process.

This represented what comes on the other side.

So when you have nascar, and all of a sudden when the first car

crosses and wins, they wave that flag.

So in ancient times, this would represent, like a checkered

flag.

So when you go into, like.

Even the temples that they would build would have etched in

stone palm branches, because the palm branch is represented.

This temple is a place of victory.

This is when we celebrate victory.

So when Jesus was coming down that Kidron Valley and they were

waving these palm branches, it was like they were celebrating too

soon.

They were celebrating with.

They were like acting as if the promise is instant without a

process, that victory can happen without death.

They did not understand the way of the kingdom.

And I just feel led to say this right now.

Cause there's many of you that have been indoctrinated into American

weak, flimsy, watered down Lukewarm Christianity, powerless.

A form of godliness that denies the power thereof.

Religious, critical fault finding, consumeristic Christianity.

And the best way I can disciple you out of that is to cause

you to go through a dying experience with me.

And I'm telling you, it is one of the best things you can ever do

in your life.

Death comes in many forms.

So let's put the promise aside.

Cause this is the end result.

This is the process.

Let's talk about this.

Death comes in many forms for a believer.

What am I talking about right now?

Well, however you want to live is how you have to die.

So let me talk about myself.

The reason why I sweat so much when I preach is because I've been

preaching since I was 15 years old.

And I still get nervous and I still don't like it.

And I still.

This is.

And my wife, everybody knows this.

Death to me is.

I want to be alone.

I don't want to be with all y'all because you scare me.

I'm telling your opinions, your comments, your criticisms, how

mean hearted you can be, how savage you can be, how loveless.

Some of y'all will.

You're the kind of people that will see something I post on Instagram

and scroll through it and then wish Kim Kardashian Happy Birthday.

In your stories, that's real.

I will literally fast for you, pray for you, anoint you, give you

money out of my own wallet, and you'll scroll past something

I post.

And then in your stories, happy birthday, Kim.

I love you.

That's Christians for you.

I'm just telling you straight up, that's Christians.

That's Christians.

Somebody will deliver you from demons.

You throw up all over their new shirt.

You cry.

I got so many shirts with your makeup right here.

And then someone's like, oh, yes, V1 your church.

I don't know.

I'm like, I was just weeping with you for two hours.

This is what I'm saying.

This is why for me.

For me, death comes in the form of putting myself out there

to get rejected, to be misunderstood, for my motives, to

constantly be challenged, no matter how pure I think they are.

I put myself out there because I don't want to do this.

I literally don't.

My wife will tell you it's your fault I tried to quit ministry.

That's how this whole thing started.

We were sitting in the car and I said, julie, I don't want to do

this.

These people are fake.

They're savage, they're mean.

I'm introverted.

I still get scared Every time I go on stage.

And she was like, we're gonna go to New York.

We're gonna launch that church, just like, God told you.

So this is ultimately your fault.

I'm mad at you, but I had to choose the cross.

The cross says, all right, Lord, here I go.

Well, didn't they cancel you again?

But they canceled you too, Jesus.

Weren't they critical of you?

But they were critical of you, Jesus.

But then on the flip side, let's talk about somebody else.

I know some people that are extroverts.

And you know who some of you are.

And you love being the limelight.

You love being the center of attention.

And matter of fact, I can't figure out, as an introvert, I can't

figure out why you're always so excited.

And it kind of annoys me.

You're the person that's like, hey, how you going?

Good morning.

You know somebody like that, Good morning, good morning, good

morning.

You know those people, it's like every time they say, like, ugh,

good morning.

You know that person at work, good morning.

You're like, you must not be as broke as I am.

Cause it's not a.

It's bad morning, Bad morning.

But here's the thing.

The person who wants the limelight, the person who wants to

be the center of attention, the person who wants to be seen,

the person who wants the microphone, that death for them comes

in the form of obscurity.

Death for them comes in the form of isolation.

So for me, death comes in the form of getting on stage in front

of everybody every day of my life.

And that for me, is death, because I don't wanna do it.

So.

But then on the flip side, what happens is that death for somebody

else might come in the form of obscurity where they have to go.

And they need the coffee team because they need.

And they need to be the most powerful preacher in America that's

serving coffee that nobody heard of until they fully die to

that desire to be seen.

So that when they finally get brought on the stage, they know how

to deflect God's glory instead of absorb it.

Does this make sense?

Because watch.

Oh, I'm gonna show you something.

If I'm an introvert who denies my calling to preach, that's called

false humility.

Then if I'm an extrovert who doesn't go the process of death and

then begin to preach, that's pride.

So sometimes you can be on one end of the spectrum of false humility

and pride.

And so what happens is this.

This is how God does it.

The promise is often concealed with a process.

And he offers you the initiation.

Take the cross.

Take the cross.

Take the cross.

I don't want the cross, Lord, please.

No, I don't want.

I want to be an entrepreneur.

You're a pastor.

No, I'm not.

I'm an entrepreneur.

You're a pastor.

Lord, I want to be alone, go with people, be in a crowd.

Then I do that.

Then all of a sudden, the resurrection power begins to hit

me.

The anointing begins to come upon me.

We fill up Times Square.

We fill up the breakers.

We start a college, seven churches.

And the whole time I'm like, lord, I don't like this.

I don't like this.

I don't like this.

And he's saying, yashana, Yashana, Yashana.

Then you go back and you're serving coffee, and they don't even

see who I am.

That other ministry would have made me a bishop in 14 days.

Come on.

I'm going to start a ministry that'll make you a bishop in 12 hours.

Let's see how fast it grows.

They don't see who I am.

Then you.

But.

But I'm.

But not my will.

Thy will.

Oh, I don't want to even wake up for coffee.

They keep going through the process.

But not my will.

Thy will.

You keep going through the cross, and guess what happens?

And here's how you know you're done with your process.

Are you ready?

Because when the Lord goes to make that exchange, he goes, remember,

victory.

It's time now.

It's time for you to preach.

Oh, no, Lord.

I don't know if I'm ready.

I'm still selfish.

Oh, no, Lord.

I'm still going for the approval of man.

Oh, no, Lord.

I don't see how you'll know you're ready.

Is that when you went through the process, you still don't feel

ready when he calls you.

That's actually how you know and see, God is trying to get you

a palm branch.

And that is the end of the story.

But it looks like death.

And death comes in many different forms for you.

If you've been raised in poverty, you're like me, where you

want to keep as much money as possible, because who knows what's

going to happen with tariffs and all this crazy stuff and the

hiring structures change.

But what will happen is right in the midst of that, the Lord will

say, be a river, not a reservoir.

Release those finances, and that for you is death.

Then there's somebody that gives all their money.

And the Lord's like, I need you to save your money.

I need you to steward it and invest it.

And you're like, oh no, Lord, death comes in many different forms.

Do you understand what I'm saying?

Do you receive that?

Okay, let me show you something.

Jesus was consistent.

He didn't live from a father wound.

I want to talk to you about the father wound because this is

ultimately the problem.

Let's talk about finances.

If you had a father that never made enough money, there's a high

likelihood that that fear of finances was transmitted to you.

And it's not that you want to be selfish, but it's that you have

a mechanism that says to hoard in the case of famine.

Let me tell you why I don't have a six pack.

I've been going deep on this.

I rebuke everybody laughing right now.

I rebuke every single one of you.

I'm coming back from sabbatical and I'm going to shock

and all you, even if I have to do it chemically, I don't even care.

But let me tell you, because, you know, I wrote a book about epigenetics.

I wrote an entire book about generational inheritance and I studied

a lot for it.

And one of the things I was recently looking at is that from

an ancestral standpoint, if you know, and this is before modern

civilization, oftentimes because there was agricultural society

with hunting, food was scarce.

So everybody who had an adaptation to store as much fat as

possible were the ones that survived scarcity to pass their genes

on.

So it's only been the last hundred years to 150 years where

there's been abundance of food everywhere.

So historically there has not been this much food available.

So whoever had the genetic predisposition to make as much storage

with the least amount of food is who survived to go to the next

generation.

So congratulations for all of us without six pack abs.

We're the survivors.

You like how I flip that?

But the problem is.

Okay, follow me.

The problem is what becomes a benefit in one generation becomes

a liability in the other.

And see what happens is when you store in the midst of abundance,

you end up fat, which leads to cardiac problems, diabetes, all these

other various things that can happen.

And what is a benefit in scarcity becomes the thing that destroys

you in abundance.

So then it's like when the Lord is asking you to sow, but you

come from multiple generations of scarcity, you're doing a mechanism

that's going to disease your soul just like food can disease your

body.

Am I helping anybody?

Are you?

Are you?

I know you're not shouting because you don't want to come into

agreement with any of this, but do you feel what I'm trying to

put down?

So what that means is as you go through this, Jesus was consistent.

He didn't live from a father wound.

So we have to go back and say, lord, what did I inherit?

Lord, what did I receive?

Lord, what is the thing that they did to survive?

But that survival mechanism has become a self sabotaging mechanism.

So is it survival or is it sabotage?

And behold, a voice from heaven said, this is my beloved son

with whom I'm well pleased.

I want you to look at this.

A voice from heaven.

Everybody say this phrase, a voice from heaven.

How many of you know the scriptures are very intentional?

The voice didn't come from earth, the voice came from heaven.

Some of you, the evidence of your father wound is that you are

looking from for a voice from the earth, not listening to the voice

from heaven.

Now what did the voice from heaven say?

This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.

Let me ask you this question, biblical scholars.

At the point chronologically in the story of Jesus, when this

scripture was written, when this moment actually occurred, what

had Jesus Christ accomplished?

Come on, biblical scholars, nothing.

This is deeply convicting.

At this point, Jesus had cast out no demons.

At this point, Jesus had healed no sick people that we know

of.

At this point, he had not been preaching.

This was actually the moment after he was baptized.

He comes up out of the water and to inaugurate the beginning of

his ministry, God says, this is my beloved son who am well pleased.

I want to talk to the men.

We're almost done.

To every single man under the sound of my voice at all campuses

right now, I want you to know that you are seen by God.

Let me talk to you about what happens to a man when a man does

not receive the affirmation of his biological father.

When a man does not receive the visibility of, hey you, you're

doing a good job without it being connected to performance.

He will spend his entire life performing to get visibility.

And I wanna explain this to you.

One of the worst things that ever happened to me, as well as one

of the best things was Boy Scouts of America, because my mother

said he doesn't have a father.

So I'm gonna enroll him in Boy Scouts of America.

And when you're in that program, they have a book.

And each stage you do accomplishments, and those accomplishments

are rewarded with Badges.

So I was in Troop 232 in Hammond, Indiana.

And I would do the book, and they would say, you're gonna get

this badge and this badge.

And I love sewing those badges onto my little uniform.

And I kept getting more and more and more and more.

Then I had a sash, and they put badges on the sash.

Then I had pins, and they put pins on the.

I mean, it was crazy.

Finally, one day, my mom and I get a notification from Troop 232.

And they say, we wanna have a dinner in honor of your son.

And I was like, what are you talking about?

You remember this?

And we had no idea what was going on.

We show up for the dinner, and they say, guys, we're here to honor

Mike Signorelli's accomplishment.

He's received the most badges of anybody in the history of Troop

232.

And at that time, everybody's clapping.

I remember being little, like, looking around the room like, what

is this all about?

Let me explain why.

That was one of the worst things ever happened to me.

Because I did not have a father in my home.

So there was a mechanism in me that was the more I accomplish, then,

the more people acknowledge me.

That is dangerous.

Because then what happens with those same men who get that mechanism

is they think, if I don't accomplish, I don't have value.

If I don't accomplish, I don't have worth.

So there's two paths that men take.

Number one is they take the path of trying to accomplish as much

as they can to get as much visibility because they didn't receive

the affirmation of their father.

And they try to grow big bank accounts, big muscles, big awards.

They try to do things, to do whatever they can to be seen.

That's why you go in the streets.

And even the thugs, the biggest earrings, the biggest chains,

the car that they have, the biggest truck.

Why?

It's visibility.

They need to be seen.

There's some tattoos are a form of visibility.

I got a whole sleeve of them.

I know some of you are gonna leave the church today after you

found that out.

I preach in long sleeves, so I don't catch the heat.

I got a whole sleeve of tattoos.

But what is it?

For some people, it's meaningful.

But some people, it's a deeper meaning of, look at me, See me.

See how tough I am.

See how bad I am.

We do all these things to posture ourselves for visibility,

but it goes back to the root of the father wound.

I'm speaking into something because you're about to get Free,

you're five minutes away from freedom.

But then there's the other end of the spectrum.

That same father wound will push some men to say, because I know

it's fake, because I know the only reason they did that dinner

for Mike Signorelli was because he got all those badges.

I don't want to get any badges.

Does this make sense?

It's almost like.

Because they look at.

It's like, oh, because people only love them because they have

money.

I don't care if I have any money.

Because they only love them because they have a nice car and

a big chain.

I don't care if I have a nice car or a big chain.

And a guy will literally go on.

Two ends of the spectrum because of a father wound.

They'll either get real loud or real quiet, or sometimes they

oscillate between both.

Men live with crippling depression.

And most men have never felt like they have value independent

of their accomplishments, because.

And look what.

This is what happened.

And behold, a voice from heaven said, this is my beloved son

with whom I am well pleased.

And God the father connected his pleasure with his son to no accomplishments.

To be honest with you, before I became a theologian, if you would

have asked me, where does this scripture happen in the Bible, I

would have said, this happens after Jesus dies on the cross.

This is my son who I'm well pleased because he did what I told

him to do.

But God loves different than man.

God says, this is my beloved son.

I don't love him for approval, but I love him from approval because

he's mine.

I remember I was in prayer years ago, and I saw in the spirit

my boy scouts of America uniform, and it was covered in all

those badges.

And I said, lord, why do you keep showing me this?

Because the Lord says, mike, I'm getting ready to make you successful

now, But I need you to take off all your accomplishments and

strip it all down.

And I need you to know that I loved you at your darkest.

I need you to know that I believed in you when nobody else

did.

And I died for you while you were yet a sinner.

And I put my whole life on the line.

And nothing you'll ever accomplish will ever be in response

to my love, but it will actually be because of my love.

And the Lord began to minister to me and love on me.

And I went through what's called an ego death.

This happened about over 10 years ago now.

And I went to the kids department, and I begin to serve

and I begin to work and I begin to sow seeds into the children

of that ministry who will never remember the words I said.

But the seeds were eternal.

And some of the most powerful ministry I've ever done in my life

happened in complete and total obscurity because I said, lord, I

don't care who I hear from in this dimension, because there's a

voice from heaven that I hear affirming me so to every man under

the sound of my voice.

It's a bonus if your wife tells you you're doing a good job.

It's a bonus if your boss tells you you're doing a good job.

But I want you to hear in the spirit right now that your heavenly

Father is telling you, this is my beloved Son, whom I'm well pleased,

because this is.

This is the way of the cross.

Jesus was not going to the cross for approval.

He was going to the cross from a place of I'm already approved.

I can lose nothing.

I can lose nothing because I already have everything which is

his voice.

I want to show you the meaning.

Now.

Jesus was affirmed before he ever did a miracle.

He was called Son before the crowd ever called him King.

He didn't need to defend Himself before Pilate.

He didn't chase the crowd when they turned on him.

And he didn't need applause to stay obedient.

Let me just tell you, if you live by their praises, you'll die

by their criticisms.

Let me just tell you, there's a lot of preachers that can't preach

what the Holy Ghost told them to preach, because nobody will clap

in this dimension.

But when you can hear your Heavenly Father clapping, you might

only hear one person clapping, but that one person is your Father.

And that's louder than a thousand people.

Come on, you hear what I'm saying.

And there's something about that authority, that realm of authority.

Like the way you can speak boldly is you're not living in response

to this dimension, but you hear his voice from heaven and you

also hear him applauding you from heaven.

And so that empowers you to not be a people pleaser, but to know

that you are one that pleases the Father.

And when you live from that place, look at what happens next.

It says In Isaiah, chapter 53, verse 3, he was despised and rejected

Isaiah 53:3

by men.

A man of sorrows and acquainted with grace, grief.

Being a Christian is probably going to be lonely.

I think a lot of pastors just try to hype you up.

But I think the hype comes after the Via Dela Rosa death, then

resurrection.

And when I look at this, it doesn't say, Jesus was walking around

always happy, always having the best day.

It said he was despised and rejected.

By who?

By men.

See, here's the thing.

I want to liberate you.

You don't have anything to prove to anybody.

Like, see, God alone can promote you, which means that no

man can demote you.

So the good news that I got for you is that if you walk this

narrow path, whether that means serving in coffee, serving

in kids, whatever that thing, death comes in many different forms.

Whether it means stepping into evangelism, even though you're deathly

afraid to talk to people, as you begin to go on this journey,

you're gonna experience being despised and rejected by man.

And it even says, a man of sorrows.

You know, I was thinking about my children the other day.

I was thinking about the generations the other day.

And it's like, man, I don't know if anybody can bear witness

with this, but life is hard.

Can anybody say Amen to that?

Life is hard.

Life is very hard.

Life is filled with difficulties.

Life is filled with mountains and valleys.

Life is filled with unexpected tragedies.

Life is hard.

Life is hard.

There's some times where all I can do is write poetry because only

poetry is powerful enough for the pain.

There's times where all I can do is groan and travail.

There's times where all I can do is sit in silence.

There's all.

There's just.

There's sometimes where life just doesn't make sense for my pea

sized little brain.

But I think about Christ, who is fully man and also fully God.

And he was in literally the garden of Gethsemane with his like

his sweat turning to blood.

It was the human part of him that was in anguish.

Even though his spirit was willing, the flesh was what.

So we all deal with that.

He lived and died for people who never fully understood him.

This is God's calling for your life.

People will try to find new circles where they're appreciated.

I'm gonna match their energy this year.

Well, thank God that Jesus never matched your energy.

Because when you were crying, crucify him.

He was crying, forgive them, for they know not what they see.

Jesus never matched energy.

Some people say I'm going to match energy.

I'm only.

I'm going to.

No, no, no.

Jesus, thank God, he didn't match energy.

As a matter of fact, he treated me the opposite of the way

I treated him.

See, this is what we have to be as Christians.

If I was going to match new York's energy.

I would reject them when they reject me.

If I was going to match church people's energy, I would gossip about

them when they gossip about me.

We don't match energy.

We match the Holy Spirit.

And when he says forgive, we forgive.

When he says serve, we serve.

When he says show up, we show up.

I didn't come to New York City to match their energy.

I came here to change it in Jesus name.

I came here to be different.

I'm a peculiar people.

I'm a royal priesthood.

I'm a chosen generation.

I'm not matching your energy.

And the Lord's been convicting me.

They reject, but I embrace and I go after them.

It's got to be a you.

Only way you fight a spirit is by an opposite spirit.

You don't fight rejection with rejection.

That's why the church is a shoeless army fighting each other

right now because they're matching each other's energy.

Put on the shoe.

Come on.

Lace up your boots.

Put on your backpack.

It's time to ride.

Put on the shoes to spread the gospel.

And let's stop matching energy and let's start using our energy

to subdue the nations.

Let's do.

He lived and died for people who never fully understood him.

Your next level is on the other side of your willingness to

die.

Your next level is on your willingness.

Oh, can I tell him?

We've had some conversations with our pastoral team and they've

called me Pastor Mike.

You know, it's so hard, and I've been like, all right, let's

stop.

Let's pray for them right now.

You know how hard it is.

Next time you want to talk bad about somebody, let blessings come

out of your.

Didn't Jesus say, bless those who.

He didn't say match their enemy.

Otherwise you'd be cursing.

See if an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

So the next time you want to curse them, do what?

Bless them.

The next time you want to push them away, do what?

Pull them closer the next time.

See, this is.

This is.

And Jesus said, father, forgive them.

Look, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

Hey, New York, I know you don't understand what I came here

to do.

I know that there's a swingers club across the street from this

venue and.

And you're in there destroying your marriage.

But I came here to reconcile it and heal it.

Hey, New York, you might be making fun of us.

You think I'm bigoted and small minded because what I say about

sexuality, but this is an ancient path.

And I'm here to tell you that God can transform you.

Hey, people down in the club that are burning their brains out

with drugs.

I know what it's like to try to forget because of the pain.

But God can go to the root and heal it.

I'm not here to match your energy.

I'm not going to do drugs with you.

I'm going to elevate you to a higher height and a deeper depth

than you ever had.

I'm here, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they

do.

I'm not here to collaborate.

I'm here to conquer.

We're going to the next level.

Let me talk to you about the meaning of the branch.

Now as we close, let's talk about the meaning of the branch because

there's a cry of desperation.

You know, today's been a different kind of sermon and it's

been really quiet.

Cause we have a whole bunch of visitors and people who are challenged

by the message.

But today I think is a character builder.

Because the biggest threat to Christianity in this next season

is not going to be other religions.

It's going to be Christians that are nothing like Christ.

It's going to be true light versus false light.

That's the biggest threat to Christianity right now.

Do you burn or do you glow?

Artificial light glows, but real light has a sweet smelling savor.

There's a burning.

There's logs on the fire.

We're called to be a living.

Oh, come on.

Three of you know the Bible.

We're called to be a living.

Thank you.

Where's the sacrifice though?

If the, if the world gossips and you gossip, where's the sacrifice?

Where's the death?

If you love to talk bad about people, then a form of death is for

you to talk is to actually prophesy who they are in the spirit,

not who they are in the flesh.

Where's the sacrifice?

Where's the sacrifice?

Where is the sacrifice if we're called to be the burning ones?

I don't want to glow.

See, when you glow, it's when you, when you put the right things

on Instagram, when you put the scripture, when you put the Christian.

Oh yeah, you glow on a screen, but you don't burn in the private

place, in the secret place of prayer.

You glow on a screen.

This is what I'm talking about.

We need Christians that sound like Christ, that sacrifice like

Christ, that die like Christ, that bless our enemies, like Christ,

that serve the least of these, like Christ.

That is what this world needs.

And I'm preaching this sermon, and some of y'all may never come

back.

But give me the real ones that want to burn that glow.

Give me the real ones that say.

I want to be a burning one.

Because I'm telling you, it hurts.

It hurts.

It hurts.

When Jesus was getting crucified, it hurt.

You ever think about that?

He was a physical body.

It hurt.

In what ways have you allowed yourself to be hurt for righteousness?

It hurts when they're talking bad about you, and then you go to

the Father and say, father, bless them, Father.

I bless them as well.

I prophesy over them, Lord.

It hurts.

It hurts to look at your bank account and say, I know the scripture

says, seek first the kingdom, then all these things, but I want

to put the kingdom number three.

It hurts to put it in number one.

But I'll tell you what, this is the palm branch.

It's the promise.

It's the promise.

It's the promise.

They were waving this thing too soon.

They waved the palm branch for victory over Rome.

But Jesus used the cross for victory over sin and death.

I think it's very similar right now.

This is a promise.

This is a promise.

And this is a thing for all those that, during the pandemic,

flew out.

Oh, Mike the demon slayer.

He's going to cast demons out of me.

Nothing wrong with wanting to be free, but.

But having.

There is no resurrection without death.

There is no true freedom without there being true pain.

There has to be a sacrifice.

There has to be discipleship.

There has to be rooting yourself in the house of God.

There has to be giving, serving all these things.

But it's the least popular thing to preach about, but the very

thing we need the most.

But this is the promise.

The promise is, if you're willing to go through that process,

look what will happen.

Look what will happen, every single one of you.

If you're a true believer, you are in the Bible, and there's a picture

of you in scripture.

I'm talking about physically, you.

I was thinking about Aaron as I was preparing for this sermon.

And you know Aaron's past.

Aaron's father, your biological father, is the lead pastor

of a church, and we honor him and we honor his faithful.

Years of decades of serving on Long Island, 20 years of serving

as a pastor on Long Island.

But you believed that there was more to the things of the spirit

and had to make a very hard decision, and you joined our church.

And it's like I became a father in the faith to you.

But it's lonely because some of your biggest accomplishments in

the faith.

You can't even necessarily share them with your own family because

they don't understand.

And there's some of my favorite memories in my entire life

are looking over and just seeing you going absolutely, absolutely

ballistic, playing your heart out before 20 people, 2,000 people.

It's never mattered to you.

I think about us, you know, that day that the glory of the Lord

came into this place, and, you know, you were groaning and travailing,

and then you started singing in tongues.

It was so anointed.

And then we put it on the Internet with me open mouth, crying.

And the whole team just disrespected me by putting that out

there.

But it's fine.

But bless those who curse you.

And then me and you.

I mean, I'm thinking about the times we were in Manhattan, the times

we've been here in Brooklyn.

You know what you do?

Every time he wants to take it to the next level spiritually, he

just forces me on the drums.

I want to end it.

And he's.

I'm trying to end the service.

He's like, no, you're not.

No, you're not.

You know what you do?

You know what you do?

He's my apostle back there.

Because as soon as he starts building the drums, like, all right,

Lord, I surrender.

Let's keep going.

But this is what it's like.

And then, you know, I'm just telling you, you're a bad player.

This guy shreds the guitar, flails around like a wild man.

Red Hot Chili Peppers has nothing on you.

And you.

And.

But.

But, you know, you love the Lord.

And I've.

And some of my greatest memories have been even just watching

you literally on your knees before the Lord, worshiping.

Same thing with the keys.

Like, you know, you come off like a quiet guy, but we speak this

language internally because all musicians speak a language.

And there's so many Sundays where you'll see me look back at

him, and I know that he knows because he's spiritually led and

we're going there together.

And you're playing the keys and releasing.

Why do I say this?

Because to be a Christian, even surrounded by people, there's

a loneliness, there's a despair.

Jesus himself was a man well acquainted with sorrows.

So even in those moments, there's something that each one of

these men are carrying that is a sorrow.

It's grief to them.

But we worship.

We worship.

Now, these people that were worshiping in the.

In the story I started with when they were crying out, yashana,

deliver me.

Some of them were putting a demand and they were waving a wave,

not a palm branch.

But then there's others that truly are saying, lord, I die to

self.

I crucify myself, God, I.

I'm.

I'm laying it all down before you.

And there's a pure worship that comes from sacrifice.

And this is how this story ends.

I want to show you this right now in Revelation, chapter 7, verse

Revelation 7:9

9.

You are in the Bible if you're a true believer.

This is what it says.

After this, I looked and behold.

Everybody say, behold.

Behold means to really focus and look at this thing.

It says, a great multitude.

See, this is a multitude.

You might be lonely in your family right now for serving the

Lord, but a great Puerto Rican multitude.

This is the scripture.

Come on, telling somebody.

A Dominican multitude.

Come on.

I'm talking to a society Brazilian multitude.

Come on, talking to somebody.

An African multitude, a British multitude, an Australian

multitude, a great.

A New York multitude, an Indiana multitude.

And a great multitude was on the other side.

And this is what it says.

Standing before the throne and before the Lamb, the Lamb clothed

in white robes.

With palm branches in their hand.

And they said, I may have died, but death did not have the

final victory.

The palm was the promise.

I'm in a white robe.

Nobody's in a wheelchair.

Nobody's got diabetes.

Nobody has cancer.

There is no degenerative diseases.

I'm in.

I'm next to Aaron in a white robe.

I'm next to you in a white robe.

I don't know who I'm talking to, but the cross was only a season.

Oh, come on.

I'm standing in a white robe.

No Huntington's disease, no Parkinson's disease, no dementia.

I'm standing in a white robe.

Who am I talking to?

Every disease, every sickness washed by the.

Blood of the lamb.

No liver disease, no heart disease.

I'm standing in a white robe saying, victoria, Victoria standing

with the white robe.

Who am I talking to?

Because I was willing to die for him.

I get to live for him forever.

God, teach me how to die.

A Teach me how to die.

I want the pain.

I want to feel the pain for you.

Hey.

Oh, I'm talking to somebody now.

Hey.

The only difference between them cheating on their wives that.

That's across the street is saying, God, teach me how to die

to self.

Not my will, but thy will.

The only difference between those two getting drunk down the

street is God, teach me to suffer.

Well, I want.

But I got a good news for you.

Those that.

Oh, those that say I may not drink ever again on this side.

Will actually share in the lamb's supper.

And we will drink again.

And I'm gonna look at you and say, mazel tov.

It's time to drink again.
