Airplane Mode: God's Rhythm of Work and Rest | The Power of the Pause | Apostle Mike Signorelli

But let's talk about airplane mode, because this is what the Lord

showed me prophetically.

Oh, thank you so much.

So the Lord showed me something prophetically for airplane

mode is that the concept is you put your phone, which is a constant

distraction, on airplane mode so that the plane can actually lift

off.

And then when you get to cruising altitude, they give you

wifi where you can reconnect your phone.

And so here's the concept that I feel like the Lord wants me to

show you.

There's many of you that have never put your distractions in airplane

mode.

Therefore your purpose has never taken flight.

So it's like.

But the difference between God and Delta Airlines is that the plane

will not take off until you actually put it on airplane mode.

So God is calling you to learn the power of the pause.

This is the big concept.

So in Mark, chapter 6, verse 31, and he said to him, come away

Mark 6:31

by yourselves to a desolate place.

What does desolate place mean?

It means there's nothing else there.

I mean, how boring is your phone without wi fi?

It's a desolate place.

I mean, there's only so long that you can spend in your notes

app.

Have you ever tried to use your phone without Internet?

And you try to do all the things you go through, your pictures

and the long.

It's boring.

But this is what he was saying, put your life on airplane

mode.

What is a desolate place?

A desolate place is a place without any form of entertainment.

There's not even, by the way, a desolate place doesn't have waterfalls.

A desolate place doesn't have like awe inspiring mountains to look

at.

A desolate place is like the desert.

It's like the wilderness.

So he was saying, go to a desolate place and rest a while.

So there's.

I wanna just show you this in the scriptures.

So desolate place means a place free of distractions.

And it says, come away by yourselves there and then rest a

while.

So there's a designation of time, rest a while.

For many were coming and going and they had no leisure even to eat.

We have now come to this point where we don't have leisure in our

life.

And by the way, this is what we think our phone is our phone.

Like while we're at work, we're on our phone.

I'm not gonna tell your boss you're all good.

This is a sacred place.

I'm not gonna call your boss and tell him.

But you're on your phone while you're at work.

Then you come home and you're on your phone as a form of entertainment

when you're at home.

So your phone is always on and it's always going.

And what that's creating in our life is this very dangerous cocktail

of never ending stimulation, never ending dopamine.

And so I wanna show you this.

Cause the Lord's been dealing with me.

Rest is not optional.

And I didn't use the word sleep, so I wanna show you something.

I'm not talking about sleep.

Right.

This is not the same thing.

Rest versus sleep, we all need sleep, but I'm talking about rest.

Rest is not optional.

It's built into creation.

So there's laws that govern this entire existence.

And let me kind of break this down for you.

So we were in different parts of Sicily to start.

And when you're in Sicily, there's farmland.

It's incredible.

But how many of you have ever been out in the middle of nowhere?

And when it gets dark, it gets dark.

You know what I'm talking about.

And the hillbillies say, black as pitch.

Have you ever heard that phrase?

Okay, then you're not hillbilly.

So it's like dark, dark.

And there's something about that.

There's a rhythm to your biological body.

So in other words, our eyes are supposed to see light when the

sun comes up.

And then as the sun diminishes, our eyes receive less

light.

And then it's actually supposed to be basically, the light

that God intended for you at night is the moon and stars.

That's about the amount that he thinks is appropriate for all

of us.

So what we did, like a whole bunch of dummies, is we violated

that by putting lights in our home.

That is a new phenomenon.

It's new as of the last couple hundred years.

And we don't think about this.

Then, as if the lights in our home weren't enough, we took it a

step further.

And we have lights.

We now think about this.

Don't forget about TikTok and Instagram and Facebook and YouTube

and what you're actually doing from a biological basis, what your

body, all your body knows you're doing, is putting a light

as close as you can to your actual eyeballs.

And then noises are coming out of it all the time.

Which if you don't, if you go into nature, noises are data, right?

I remember my daughter when she was little, Bella.

And she was just a baby, like, kind of like a toddler age.

We lived on a busy block.

And she would be like, dad, I'm scared.

You know?

And I'm like, well, what's going on?

She's like, I can't go to sleep.

I hear something.

I'm like, what do you hear?

And this is what she said, which, you know how kids say the

cutest things.

She was like, I hear a man walking around with swishy pan.

And so there, you know, I'm like, walking around the neighborhood,

where is this guy?

Cause my 3 year old's like a man with swishy pants, you know?

But what Bella's brain was trying to do was interpret the noise.

So.

Because that's how we survived.

Because if the noise was a real threat and you heard it and

you acted appropriately, you didn't die.

So think about what you're doing with your phone.

You're holding a light close to your eyes after the natural light

has gone down, and you're filling your ears with all kinds

of noise.

So what that's doing is it's hijacking all these primitive systems

that you have, and it's deregulating your central nervous

system and it's not good for you.

I don't know if you know that.

So airplane mode is something that we need to talk about for like,

few more minutes before we close.

But let me show you.

So there's rhythms of rest.

So one of the rhythms is, what if there was a certain time every

day where you turned your phone off and put it away?

What if you controlled the light in your environment and it

got incrementally darker?

What if the noise actually diminished?

What if you tried to protect your central nervous system?

Right, then let's talk about larger rhythms.

Okay, so for six years, this is the book of Leviticus.

So the Levites, remember Moses and Aaron were establishing like

the.

Basically the template for how society should run.

For six years, you shall sow your field, and for six years you

shall prune your vineyard and gather its fruits.

This is real hard work.

So this is tilling up the soil, putting seeds in the soil,

then it grows.

Pruning is shearing and cutting it back.

It's very hard work with your hands.

And it's like, for six years you should do this.

But in the seventh year, there shall be a Sabbath of solemn rest.

Look at that word.

Solemn rest for the land.

A Sabbath to the Lord.

Okay, so what are we learning from scripture right now?

That the way you rest, the power of the pause is literally unto

the Lord.

It's a form of worship unto him.

So when you're constantly scrolling, you're constantly working,

you're constantly going, you're actually decreasing or diminishing

your worship unto him, because he receives worship through our rest.

We're going to be talking about what that means.

Okay, so for Israel in an agricultural society, for them to

take an entire year every seven years and plant nothing, I

mean, think about this.

They would just let it all go.

Everything's growing wild and we're not pruning anything, we're

not cutting anything back, we're not digging anything up.

We're letting the land rest.

Every seventh year was so radical, it was so extreme because

every other society would say, think about birth rate.

People are conceiving children and birthing children, their civilizations

are growing and so you need the land to yield those crops.

So it would, okay, I'm about to help somebody.

They would have to think ahead to how they Sabbath that seventh

year.

They would have to put, they'd have to grow extra and work harder

in the sixth year so that in the seventh year they could rest.

They'd have to put it aside.

As a matter of fact, I have Jewish friends now, even Jewish friends

who believe in Christ as Messiah that still celebrate a weekly

Sabbath of Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.

And I've been in their homes for, you know, like a Shabbat when

they're preparing the meal and for that 24 hour span, they put every

light on in the house that they think that they were gonna wanna

use and they leave it on because it would be work to them

to even touch the light switch.

And then they put the food that they wanna eat in the oven and

they have everything ready and they make provisions to rest.

So a wisdom key that you get from the Levites is that to rest

well, you must work well.

Here's another thing for your notes.

To rest well, you must also prepare well.

So what's happening is we don't work well, we don't prepare

well, so we never rest well.

And as a matter of fact, many of us just go into what we call rest.

But it's not rest, it's abandonment.

It's not rest, it's escapism.

It's not rest.

Oh, come on.

So true rest requires preparation and it also requires

hard work so that you, when you get into this thing, you're ready.

You shall not reap what grows of itself in your harvest, or gather

the grapes of your undressed vine.

It shall be a year of solemn rest.

So think about this, okay, Can I go real deep?

Are you guys cool if I just go super deep?

And then if you don't get it, you could just rewind it.

Okay.

Or.

Okay.

He's saying, don't gather the grapes of your undressed vine.

So in the seventh year, while the land is in a Sabbath, don't take

advantage of opportunities that seem good, but they're not from

God because that's not your season.

So people would say, but the grapes are there.

I should just gather these grapes and say, no, no, no.

If the season is rest, then God called you to rest, not to reap.

So, like, even for me, I'm getting ready to go on this three

and a half month sabbatical.

I'll be back in the middle of September.

We'll talk more about that this month.

And I have gotten asked to preach the biggest things I've ever

gotten asked.

And it was hilarious to me because the greatest opportunities

that have ever come to my ministry came for the months that

I'm supposed to be on sabbatical.

And it was such an.

One of them, I.

I almost sinned.

One of them.

I had a whole thing typed up about how, you know, what God could

do this and this.

And I was vindicating it and I almost hit send and the Holy Spirit

was like, you idiot.

I felt him breathing.

And I deleted the whole thing.

And I said, unfortunately, da, da, da.

And it was this scripture that says, don't even gather the grapes

of your undressed vine.

In other words, when you Sabbath, when you take this time

to rest, even something that feels like a God opportunity, if

it's not, if it could be the right thing in the wrong season.

Gathering grapes for six years is the right idea, but not for that

seventh year of Sabbath.

Like, does this make sense?

Okay, because I'm going to help.

So if even the land required a sabbatical, how much more do we.

So this is the way God instituted these things to work.

Rest is not laziness.

It's an act of trust.

So we gotta break this down.

Cause again, I'm talking about rest.

Rest is not laziness.

I'm preaching to myself.

I'm telling you, you will not find a harder worker than me.

I love to work.

I value work.

I love the results of work.

I'm extremely competitive, and that's in my nature.

I have a statement that I live by.

Anything worth doing is worth overdoing.

And you can tell by everything I do that I love that because I'm

passionate.

I've always been that way.

But I have to remind myself that rest is not laziness.

Can I just talk a little bit more about this phone?

Sometimes you're making an illusion of busyness because you

would feel guilty resting the proper way.

And you're on your phone because you're just like, well, I

have to create.

I have to keep an illusion.

No, no.

Rest is not laziness.

It's actually an act of trust.

So when you rest, once every seven days, rest, just like the Jews

have a Sabbath from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday.

Let's say you adopt that practice.

That is an act of trust that God is gonna take care of it.

That God.

You're gonna.

It's a tithe of your time.

How many of you understand the concept with your money?

Giving your money to the local church means nothing to an unsafe

person.

Cause it's the spiritual meat of the Word.

And that's why people who are resistant to the concept of the tithe

are people who are spiritual babies.

They're on the milk of the Word, not the meat.

Because the meat of the Word is, I'd rather live off of 90% blessed

than 100% cursed.

And when we say curse, what does that mean?

You can interpret that however you want.

It's just.

Why would God entrust me with more money if I'm stingy with what

I have?

So when you give financially, it's a tithe of your time to say,

God, teach me to number my days, that my heart might be full

of wisdom.

I'm gonna give you this time to rest.

Remember when I said, going back to the previous scripture, that

Sabbath is unto the Lord.

Just like when you tithe your money, you're giving your finances

unto the Lord, and you're saying, I trust you, God.

This might only be $100 out of a thousand, but I trust you.

This might only be 24 hours, and I'm asleep for most of them,

for half of them out of seven days.

But I trust you with my time, and I'm gonna work as hard as I can,

and.

And then I'm gonna trust you for the results of the work.

I'm gonna make as much money as I can, but I trust you with the

increase.

Are y'all with me?

Okay.

Preparation seasons are crucial.

Even Jesus had them.

Now let's talk about Christ.

Christ was 100% man and 100% God.

And because he had a physical body, he was subjected to being tempted

and tested, just like all of us.

So Jesus had to learn Sabbath rest.

It was not natural to him, because he was born under the curse

of Adam, which is the curse of sin.

And so he had to break that curse by hanging On a tree, which

is what Galatians talks about.

So why is this important?

Because Jesus models for us what this looks like.

Luke, chapter 2, verse 52 is.

Luke 2:52

And Jesus increased.

And this.

You know, by the way, Islam has a really hard time with these

scriptures.

Like, people who don't understand the deity of Christ, they

use these scriptures to prove that he was only a man, but he was

100% man and 100% God.

Are y'all with me?

Okay, right now, there's a side note.

I'll probably make a video about it.

There's like a total false prophet rising up right now.

I don't know if you guys have seen him.

And he's using this verse out of context.

So let me help you understand.

How does Jesus increase in wisdom and in stature and the favor

with God and with man?

Well, it's very simple.

He was 100% a physical body, but 100%.

Remember, the holy Spirit overshadowed Mary to conceive Jesus.

And so, because he.

It's paradoxical, 100% man, 100% God, he was increasing in wisdom

and stature as he was physically disciplining his body

to fulfill the call that was placed on him by his Father.

Does this make sense?

But Jesus had to go through that process before you're revealed.

God refines.

So Jesus spent time in the temple as a child, even debating

and discussing Scripture.

Jesus was faithful in Bethlehem.

What is Bethlehem?

It's the place of his birth.

He was given to his father, his stepfather Joseph's trade.

And so he was refined before he was revealed.

Even Jesus.

Now, of course, it was his physical body.

It was his, the discipline of getting his mind and will and emotions

all in alignment with the Spirit.

But Jesus went through that, as a matter of fact, and you've heard

me say it, he went through 30 years of preparation for three years

of ministry.

And I will tell you this, and this is gonna comfort somebody's

soul.

The preparation seasons for many of you is a form of rest before

work.

Because once God calls you into the thing that you desire to

do for him, that thing is going to be a burden just as much

as it's a blessing.

Like, some of y'all don't understand, you have the luxury right

now of not being used by God.

And the thing that he's eventually gonna use you.

And when you go into that season of God using you, you'll think

day, and you'll be like, man, I did not recognize the luxury I

had that day.

Y'all feel me?

And so, because the higher you go the less options you have.

And so right now, at this level that you're at, it's like Jesus.

It got incrementally harder.

You find him in Gethsemane, literally saying, let this cup pass

from me because it was so difficult, Right?

But it started with the disciples turning water into wine.

It started with miracles.

It ended with the crucifixion.

So the higher you go, the less options you have.

So don't curse the season you're in.

Identify and know the season you're in and then begin to increase

in wisdom, because it might even be a form of rest.

And you might be so mad at God for not using you in a certain way,

not realizing that God is refining you before he reveals you.

And then after he reveals you, he's going to crucify you.

Okay?

Anyways, so it's rest.

It's not.

You get what I'm saying?

Don't despise your invisible seasons.

They are.

They are weight building.

Remember Dan Duke telling me, it's my shoulders.

Can you carry the weight?

It's not how good you can preach.

It's how much weight you can carry.

It's not how accurate you can prophesy.

It's about how much weight you can carry.

See, God will deal with those seasons.

Don't despise the invisible seasons.

It's about weight.

The early church, they had this balance, and I think we've become

distorted in the church.

So I'm speaking as an apostle now, and I want you to receive this

in love, because we have to go back to the original template to

understand how we should operate.

Acts, chapter 2, verse 46.

Acts 2:46

So I showed you the Old Testament.

I showed you the life of Jesus.

Now I want to show you the early church and bring it all together.

And day by day, attending the temple together.

Okay, watch this.

Attending the temple together.

So if you're in church right now in Indiana, Long Island, New

York City, any one of our campuses, Miami, you are fulfilling

this, attending the temple together.

But then there's this other everybody say and.

And breaking bread.

I'm just.

I don't want to say who it is, because once the secret gets out,

she will not be able to keep up with the demand.

But one of our church members made me sourdough bread.

They didn't ask if I was keto.

I did eat half of that loaf already.

But there's something about breaking bread.

And where did they do it?

In their homes?

Church.

There has to be a rhythm of attending the temple together and

breaking bread in our Homes together.

And this is righteous.

This is.

Remember I said, Sabbath is unto the Lord.

So there's a form of rest when you see each other's dirty socks.

Come on, now.

I'm just getting real.

You see each other's dishes, you see each other's homes.

There is a form of Sabbath that comes together when it's not

just us puking demons out.

It's not just us bawling our eyes out and screaming and dancing

and jumping or plugging in cables.

There's a form of rest where it's like, hey, I made this sourdough.

You know, let's eat this bread together.

Or, hey, let Come over to my house.

What are we gonna do?

Nothing.

Let's watch a show together.

Let's talk together.

And this is.

But you.

All you.

I don't know if I'm even getting the point across.

This is actually just as holy as puking demons out.

This is just as holy as plugging in cables.

This is just as holy.

And it grieves me because there's so many people in my DMs.

Which campus are you preaching at this week?

Here's the question.

I need you to whose house are we going over to?

What are we eating?

And how big is your couch?

And is it weird if I sit on your floor?

And what will happen is you will come for the preaching, but

leave because there's no fellowship.

Why?

Because your soul is not at rest.

There's got to be somebody in this church that sees you without

makeup.

Let it droop, let it flow bags under the eyes.

Let him see how few eyebrow hairs you have left.

Come on, let's get real.

That is a form of rest because people will go to a church and never

take their mask off and then get mad when nobody knows who they

really are.

People will go to it and then.

And then forget about it.

What if we promote you and you increase in position, but you never

increase in relationship?

Now you feel used.

This is.

I'm speaking as an apostle right now.

You gotta let somebody.

Yes, it's a wig.

Yes, it's weave.

Yes, it's tattooed.

Yes, it's this.

Let me be me.

Yes.

I lost 10 pounds.

I gained 10 pounds.

Let me be me.

Why?

Because this is sacred.

This is holy.

I just trust that you're going to see who I'm going to become in

the spirit and you're going to treat me like my future and I can

be real around you.

Yes.

My kids are bad sometimes.

Not Bella.

Not Bella.

Yeah.

Yes.

My kids, you know, let them see your kid throw a tantrum because

why?

Because this.

They attend the temple together and break bread in their

homes.

They received their food with glad and generous hearts.

So you're telling me that you've been at V1 Church for three

years and you receive prophetic words, but you never received

food?

This is holy.

This is Sabbath.

You know how I met Heather and Chris Wrigley?

I had apartment.

It was so small, it was the size of the stage.

And I bought one of those.

There's a model of the IKEA table that is a trifold, and it goes

down to where it's only this thin.

And I.

You know, and we had that trifold table, and Chris and Heather

came over to my little apartment and we just broke bread.

We actually started with that before the temple, you know, and

sometimes you could even reverse the flow.

What if instead of inviting people to V1 Church, you invite them

to your house first?

I know, this is revolutionary.

Nobody even clapped because you're like, but I have to clean.

What if you didn't?

Right now, my wife is like, that's.

Honey, that's the worst sermon you've ever preached.

Honey, I know what you meant, but they don't know what you mean.

No, no, I'm saying this with authority.

The more you care, the less you rest.

Let the grapes fall on the floor.

You.

You don't pick grapes in a Sabbath season.

It's like, there's gotta be something.

And one thing I love about being raised in the barrio, one thing

I loved, my mom had five kids.

And some of my favorite memories of church was we would go

hang out at somebody's house, and they'd be making homemade tortillas,

and they would be teaching my mom how to make the rice.

And there's my mom learning how to make the rice.

She would.

The Mexican rice.

Then she.

We would go to the other house, the Puerto Rican rice.

Then we'd have an argument, whose rice is better?

Then the arrechera, then the skirt steak, how we make that?

And we're cooking.

And, man, these homes were filthy because they were filled with

kids.

And I remember seeing my mom cry at the table.

They're speaking words over her, sandra, you're gonna make it.

You're not always going to be a single mom like this.

And then it would get so late and that we'd end up sleeping on

the floor.

And then we would wake up at people's house and you know, and

I know Things have changed.

But I guess what I'm trying to say is that was church.

And it's almost like the bigger this church gets, the smaller

it has to get.

We can't have a stadium, not have couches.

We can't have prophecy, not have bread.

I'm speaking apostolically.

These are the good old days and you're about to miss it.

And the Internet messed your mind up because you came here.

Which campus is that, Mike at?

Who cares?

What.

I'm not going to be at any campus for three months.

You're going to leave the church, like, forget about sitting

under my teaching, Sit at somebody's table and sit under my

teaching.

I know this is not a popular message, and if you were one of those

people, maybe God used me to get you here.

But I'm trying to tell you, like, it can't just be about me.

No, don't clap too hard on that one.

Someone over here.

Come on.

Yeah, sit him down.

God, he's too big on his bridges.

Yeah, yeah, come on.

I rebuke that security.

Can you take him out?

Pistol whip him too?

Come on.

We're in the Bronx, y'all.

Okay, that was the flesh.

Okay, here's what else the church was doing.

Praising God and having favor with all the people praising God.

See, this changes how you do your dinners.

At the dinner, don't complain, praise.

Because that's the other thing is, like, if the enemy's gonna bring

you to the table, don't sit at that table and complain.

Sit at that table and praise.

One thing I think I'm thankful for my heritage going back to.

We were raised in Spanish speaking churches and there was no

gossip.

I know that sounds hard to believe, but I was thinking back

to this.

That was not the culture of those.

The church that we attended, as a matter of fact, this month.

And it's kind of emotional for me to say it.

Joey Miranda, who was my first mentor, he was the youth pastor that,

remember in the Domino revival, I tell the story about me

preaching for the very first time and the girl's arm gets healed

and the revival breaks out.

So Joey Miranda was on keys when it happened.

So he's still.

He's now the lead pastor of the church that I was raised in.

And he's preaching V1 church this month.

And it's gonna be a really powerful, like, family moment where

you get to hear somebody be like, I remember Mike.

I was there for the story.

And he's gonna be a part of this transition into sabbatical.

And both Joey and I have remained in the faith.

It's gonna be a beautiful service that's coming up soon.

But the reason why I say that is the culture of that church at

the time was not gossip.

We would just talk.

A lot of people were ministering to each other.

That was what it was like when I was growing up.

They all ministered to.

Nobody needed a position or a title.

It was encouragement, a lot of encouragement.

And I look back and we were all very poor.

It was a lot of first generation Americans that had come

up through Texas.

It was a lot of people that were just working very hard.

And that was the church I was raised in.

And so it was a network of a lot of support and encouragement

and people were giving each other words and it was very affirmational.

And I look back now and I'm grateful for that heritage because

it was the gifts of the spirit with a lot of first generation Americans

that were trying to make a better life for their family.

And so that the church was not about cutting each other down, it

was about building each other up.

And it was a generational church.

And so you see.

Nice.

A device was added to my account.

And having favor with all the people and the Lord added to their

numbers day by day.

Okay, this is the end of my sermon.

Who added to their numbers?

There are churches in America that are growing.

Man, I feel like I have to do this.

Am I cool to do this?

I know we got service in like eight minutes.

I got a text message from the, the White House, former White House

chief of staff on my flight back to America.

And I also am going to be at Capitol Hill this week working with

Congressman, working with the House speaker.

And we're doing an initiative to build a bridge for Israel and

huge opportunity.

There's a lot of churches right now that are growing, built

on political platforms.

And because they're MAGA churches, they're Republican churches,

There's Democrat churches.

Here's my stance.

See how it says, and the Lord added to their number.

See, it's possible that pastors figure out how to add to

their numbers.

And when it works, the temptation is to keep doing things

that keep that happening.

So you say something and all the Republicans shout.

And then the word starts spreading all over Long Island.

This is a Republican church.

Come to this church, you say something and all the Democrats shout

and the word spreads come to this church.

It's a Democrat church.

The problem is I preach internationally, so I don't have

just an American perspective.

I've seen the body of Christ in many different languages, many

different cultures and settings.

And I have deep personal convictions that are based on the

scripture.

And it's probably pretty obvious to all of you where I land

politically.

But I have not tried to build the church off of that because I've

gone back to the scripture and say, lord, how are you building it?

But also, let me warn you, because that was the politics conversation.

The other conversation is there are churches that grow off

of worship.

And everybody comes because, well, they're known for worship and

they worship for five hours.

And your church is less spiritual because you only worship

for 30 minutes.

But see that also.

And what happens is when churches grow, the word spreads.

Oh, man.

That worship's prophetic, that worship's this.

And then the church starts to grow off of worship.

But again, did the Lord add those numbers?

See, this is.

There's other churches that grow off of preaching.

And it is a one man show.

And you're probably thinking of that person now.

And people come and there's lines all the way down the block

and they just want to see that person because they went viral on

TikTok and they that man.

But then the problem is the mantle never dies with the man.

So it was never about the man, it was about the mantle.

And apostolic leadership is concerned with raising people up

so you can add to your numbers because everybody wants to come and

see that person.

But the question is this.

Can we look at V1 and can we say, and the Lord added to their

numbers day by day.

But the way that you get that to happen is this.

Go to the temple together.

Don't go apart.

Break bread in your homes, plural.

Receive food with a glad, generous heart.

Praise God.

When you're together, don't complain.

Don't murmur praise God, prophesy over each other, support

each other.

And then when you do this, what will happen is you'll begin

to operate in favor and then the Lord will add to your number

daily.

Yeah, we're gonna have three hour worship services.

Yeah, we're gonna have people who come because they wanna see me

preach in person.

Yeah, but the thing is, it's about the priority.

Like we're prioritizing the.

The template that the Lord gave.

Which is what?

Its presence.

It's his presence and each other's presence.

The early church worked hard and they recharged together.

Do you guys have your communion with you?

Public impact flows from private health.

I just feel the holiness of God.

Anybody else experiencing that right now?

The holiness of God?

You know what's happening?

I just figured it out on Stage.

Our church is maturing.

We're maturing.

That's what this is like.

Lord, what is this?

We're maturing.

So if you have your communion, take your cups out and get them ready.

We're always connected, but rarely restored.

Somebody say that phrase, airplane mode.

True work means giving your full energy, and true rest means

fully unplugging.

Let me tell you, I hate the European coffee, but you know what

I love about Europeans?

They look you in your eyes when you talk to them.

It was.

I mean, and especially the Italian people.

I thought I was going to make out with everybody.

It was the weirdest finale.

I either thought we were either gonna fight or we're gonna

make out in New York City.

When someone looks at you too long, you're like, we're about to

throw down.

So in Italy, it was like this.

And I was like, do something.

And they're like, oh, buongiorno.

Oh, buena sera.

And I'm like, oh, buena serra.

You know, start talking to you.

And then we start talking.

They're looking at me in my eyes all the time, like, are we falling

in love?

I got a wife.

This is weird.

But you know what?

Like, I will say in America, we're.

We're so distracted.

We're so disconnected, and.

And it's like, I think that.

But we do this to God.

I'll put it like this.

Are we sending God text Messages?

Are we FaceTiming God?

Or are we sitting at his feet?

It's time to go.

Oh, it's time to go on airplane mode.

Because some of you are like, this is the order of Christians.

Some Christians are just text messaging God.

Then some Christians, I'm better than you.

I FaceTime him.

But the Lord's saying, yeah, yeah, but I want to smell you.

I want you to smell me.

I want.

I want.

Come on.

There's something about this intimacy, but the same thing.

True.

It's like, I love zoom.

But, man, what's better than zooming church people is bringing

them into your house and just who cares?

I'm giving you permission to let the grapes fall on the ground

this season.

That's what I'm saying.

We don't even have to clean them up.

And it was weird because it's like, for six years, we tilled this

land.

For six years, everything had to be perfect.

Now you're saying, let it grow wild.

Yes, because we're reprioritizing.

See, the priority is not a clean house.

It's the company.

I know I've done this before, but I want to do it one last time.

You know who I learned this lesson from?

Ivan Marty.

When we first started the church, he was like, there's this

place in your neighborhood called Norma's, and they have this

thing called the New Yorker, and it's a cheddar biscuit with bacon.

And I said, say less.

I will disciple you at Norma's.

And me and Ivan would just sit down at Norma's, and we would eat,

and we would just spend time together, and we just.

He really taught me the value of breaking bread.

And I would always be like, well, do this.

Do the.

Come to the.

And be like, no, no, only if we eat together.

He just had such a high value for that.

And so true work means giving your full energy, but true rest means

fully unplugging.

And we need those people in our lives.

So watch this.

Look at the communion in your hands.

If you're watching online, just go.

Go get something.

Where was this done with Jesus?

Was it done in a church service?

Was it done in the temple?

It was done at the table.

Isn't it ironic?

Don't you think they would have thought it was weird?

They're like, wait a second.

Let me get this right.

You guys break bread together in a church service, but never in

your homes?

See, Jesus broke bread with those that he was the most intimate

with.

So now I wanna go full circle to the end of my message is hit the

airplane mode.

Because watch, when you hit airplane mode, the airplane takes

off.

And let me ask you, what's harder, Getting service to your cell

phone or putting an airplane in the air?

Putting an airplane in the air is a feat of modern.

It's like a modern marvel.

And so what happens is, by putting the distractions on pause,

something much greater takes off.

And so I feel like what communion represents is the power

of the pause.

So would you all just stand to your feet with me?

This is the last thought I want to leave you with.

And we're going to pray together.

Because when you preach these messages on Sabbath, there's certain

Christians are like, that was the greatest sermon I ever heard

in my life.

Like, Christians love books about rest, sermons about rest, songs

about rest.

We're obsessed with it.

So I want to make sure that I do this right.

Because look at Communion, this was served at the table.

But in order for this to be served, Jesus had to die.

Watch.

This is what the Lord showed me.

Joshua and Caleb go into the promised land.

Canaan was promised to be a place of rest.

That was the way that God told them, hey, when you get to Canaan,

you're gonna rest.

They got there, and it was filled with giants.

So what did they do?

Joshua and Caleb said, we're willing to go to war to create peace.

So here's the wisdom I'm gonna leave you with.

Jesus is the prince of peace.

He goes to the cross in order to create true peace.

So this blood represents violence.

This represents his body being broken.

See, the thing is, many of us, we want peace without war.

But then there's some of us that we only want war.

I'm talking about myself.

I'm a little crazy.

I love fighting demons.

Oh, I love it.

I don't even.

Sometimes I'm like, lord, do you have to throw them in the lake

of fire?

Can I get five more rounds with them before you do it?

I mean, I'm just.

I'm a warrior at heart.

You, if you go to this church, you're at a warrior church.

But the thing is, I have to remind myself, the only reason why

you go to war is to produce peace.

See, but there's other people that want peace, but never want to

go to war.

And I believe what God's trying to install is his kingdom

balance.

Joshua and Caleb's promised rest was filled with giants.

Rest comes after faith, filled obedience.

Six years of working the land, seventh year, Sabbath.

Six days of working, seventh day of Sabbath.

So I believe as we take this cup.

I've never preached this before, but I feel the power of God

all over this.

This cup represents both the table and the field.

This cup represents both the battle and the peace.

And when you say yes to communion, you're saying yes to both.

God, if I gotta fight in Brooklyn to win this city, I'm gonna

fight.

If I gotta fight in Indiana, I'm gonna fight.

But.

But what are we fighting for?

True rest, true peace.

That our children will know a future we never had.

That the generations will inherit, but they'll have their battles.

So communion is saying, God, bring me into your rest.

But God, also, I'm willing to come into the battle with you as

well.

So what I want you to do is take this wafer.

And this represents his body.

You can take it now and now.

This represents his blood that was shed for you on the cross.

As a matter of fact, I preached that sermon about the seven

different ways his blood was spilled.

Even before the cross.

It was his crown of thorns.

His side was pierced for you.

So as we take this, let us do this in remembrance, but also an

acknowledgement of all the ways the blood was spilled.

So that you would be healed.

Let's take it now across every V1 campus.

I want you to take the next 30 seconds right now.

I want you to grab your phone.

I want you to open up the camera app.

I want you to go over to the video portion.

I want you to put it on yourself like this.

Come on.

Be obedient to the man of God.

I know you don't want to.

I know you just saw your chin and you're like, lord, I don't even

feel your presence anymore because we're about to redeem this

thing.

So across every campus right now.

And I want everybody to participate in this.

I want you to say into the.

I want you to film a video to yourself.

Because right now, we're marking a moment, the power of the

pause.

And I want you to begin to say the things that you're putting on

airplane mode.

So we're all going to film a video, and I'm going to do it with

you right now.

And you're going to say, I'm putting this distraction on airplane

mode.

I'm putting this on airplane mode.

And I'm believing that I'm going to be hungry for God.

I'm going to get into his presence, and I want you to begin

to speak and declare.

And we're gonna do this.

And because I believe we're gonna get this digitally into our

phone, and it's gonna be a remembrance of what God did.

Are you all ready?

Okay.

Across every location right now, and just lift up the music,

and we're just gonna begin to speak and prophesy and declare into

the phone.

So just prophesy.

I am gonna regulate my central nervous system.

I am gonna be in the presence of God.

I am gonna be disciplined with my time.

All right, Ready, set, go.

Hey, this is Pastor Mike pastoring.

Pastor Mike, you will be disciplined with your time.

I'm prophesying right now and declaring that you are going to number

your days to include Sabbath rest, that you are going to glorify

God in your rest, that you're going to open your home, break bread,

become friends to those, begin to open up those spaces where many

can come to know him.

And I prophesy and declare that sometimes the grapes will fall

on the floor, that sometimes the season will dictate another action.

And I even begin to speak and declare that I will be rested and

recharged, that I will put boundaries to technology, that I

will put boundaries to the light that I put in my eyes, that

I will seek and know God and discover you.

Lord, in ways I've never known before.

And I thank you, Father, that I'm going to work hard, but I'm going

to rest even better.

And, Lord, that you're going to meet me in my rest.

That you're going to meet me in that place.

God.

Lord, I pray even over my sleep that I will have restorative

sleep.

Sleep that refreshes sleep that renews sleep, Lord, that is

designated by you.

And that you'll meet me even in my sleep.

And, Lord, I thank you that I'm going to walk in your purpose,

that you're going to refine me before you reveal me.

That you are going to have your will in my life.
