We believe that God's word brings strength and stability to our lives.

Let's dive into this powerful message.

But if you're taking notes today, the title of my sermon is Pure Heart.

Everyone say pure?

Heart.

Everyone say pure?

Heart.

One more time.

Everyone say pure?

Heart.

God wants us to have a pure heart.

He wants your heart pure.

And to have a pure heart is actually a part of the discipleship journey and the discipleship process that as you go through the process of discipleship and as you get on the journey of discipleship, God purifies your heart.

It's important to have a pure heart because a pure heart is the sign of a disciple.

As a disciple begins to mature, the disciple goes through this process of sanctification and transformation, and God begins to sanctify them and transform them, and they have a heart that's after God's heart.

They have a pure heart, they have a heart that looks like God's heart, that God wants you to have his heart.

So I have a question for you all.

My question is what do you have to do to get a pure heart?

What do you have to do?

And we'll spend the rest of our time together to learn how to answer that question.

Because the truth of the matter is there's a lot of people that's in the church that don't have pure hearts.

Jesus had a disciple named Judas who didn't have a pure heart.

He sold Jesus out for money.

So we have to have a pure heart.

Is your heart pure?

And why is it so important that your heart is pure?

It's because the devil is after your heart most.

If he can't take your life, guess what he wants to take?

He wants to take your heart.

Now, why does the devil want to take your heart?

He wants to take your heart because whoever and whatever controls your heart controls your life.

Whatever controls your heart controls your life.

If God controls your heart, he controls your life.

But if the enemy controls your heart, he controls your life.

If anger controls your heart, it controls your life.

If bitterness controls your heart, it controls your life.

What is at the hem of your heart?

Because that's the control center of your life.

So the devil says, you know what?

If I can own your heart, I can control you.

And he is after your heart.

He's doing everything he can to penetrate and to attack your heart.

And heart is everything.

All the way to the point that when God sees you, He don't even look at you, He looks through you to your heart.

The Bible says man looks at the hour to parents, but God looks at the what?

The heart.

God looks at the heart.

That He He sees you based on your heart.

Is your heart like His heart?

And every test, every storm, every warfare, and everything you've been through is designed to make sure you don't have Jesus' heart in your chest.

So what you have to do is overcome the storms, overcome the trials, overcome everything that's coming to attack you to make sure that you have Jesus' heart.

And Jesus has a pure heart, and he wants you to have a pure heart.

And some of the worst advice someone can give you in this world is follow your heart.

It's the worst advice.

Do not follow your heart.

I would even venture to say until it's purified.

Don't even regard your heart.

Just whatever your heart is saying.

My heart is saying slap you.

Now what?

But whatever your heart says, do you see the last four people I dated?

I don't think my heart should be giving no more advice.

Crazy one through four is my exes.

We're not finna listen to my heart no more.

That dude, you talking about someone just following my heart.

Girl, your heart almost led you to destruction.

You can't follow your heart.

The Bible even says it's this way.

The Bible says the heart is wicked.

Who can know it?

Who can know it?

It's wicked.

You can't follow your heart.

Now you at a point you can't follow your heart when you purify your heart and cleanse your heart and inform your heart and feed your heart and change your heart.

Then you can follow your heart until then avoid your heart.

Because it is wicked and it's ignorant, and your heart is rid of intellectual prowess, which means your heart does not have a mind.

It's just a responder and it lacks intellectual prowess, which means a heart can't even, a heart is just a reproducer of what's been stored in it.

You know, your heart can't even be and now again, when you have the heart of God and your heart has been discipled and trained and refined and delivered, then yes, but I'm talking about the adamic heart, which is the heart that was that you were came into this earth with until you became a new creation in Christ Jesus, and he gives you a good heart.

That's called the Adamic heart, and that heart can't be trusted.

And anything you put in that heart will come back out of it.

Literally.

Sometimes I sit, I was watching a documentary, and I probably shouldn't be watching these.

And it was just of this this guy executing people, just to say it nicely so kids don't understand the word, but it's another word that starts with a cater with what he was doing.

Um and I'm just like, how does somebody get so perverted and twisted that you can just walk around executing people?

Like, where they do that at?

They do that at in bad heart.

Like, like, if you sit and meditate on anything bad, that meditation becomes actualization.

Now Jesus is starting to make sense.

Where he's like, whoever I hate in their heart already had committed murder.

You're like, Jesus, what?

Jesus is like, yeah, because if you keep feeding hate, hate comes out as murder.

You sit with hate long enough, murder eventually shows up.

And what Jesus was doing was he was showing the seed, and he was showing the seed at full strength.

Whoever lusts upon a woman has already committed adultery.

Why?

What is Jesus saying?

He said, if you look long enough, you're gonna try to touch something.

Okay, let me leave that alone.

Um, Pastor, stop.

Okay, I'll stop for it.

No, I ain't stopping.

No, I'm playing.

Um I'm sorry, let me square playing.

Back to Jesus.

Okay, so what I'm saying is this I'm saying that what goes in the heart comes out the life.

What goes in the heart comes out the life.

What goes in the heart comes out the life.

God knows it, and the devil knows it.

God is after your heart, and the enemy is after your heart.

And you have to now protect your heart and purify your heart and cleanse your heart and have a pure heart because your heart is actually your guide, it's your compass, it's your navigation system to this life.

We live out of our hearts, and so many times when you don't understand people, you're like, why would this person do that?

And why would this person do that?

It's a heart thing.

It's always a hard thing.

And when you don't do the heart work, you're not gonna be pure in heart because you gotta put in the heart work.

But the heart work is hard work, but you gotta be willing to do the hard work because it can transform your heart.

If you have your Bibles, go to Proverbs 27, verse 19.

Proverbs 27:19

We're gonna start digging in.

Proverbs 27, verse 19.

Proverbs 27:19

And it reads, as water reflects the face, so one's light, so one's life reflects the heart.

The Bible is such a cool book.

It's like I love preaching out of Proverbs because when I first got saved, I didn't understand nothing they was talking about.

So now this is this is just like, man.

I used to read this, I was like, what is he, what are they talking about?

Water reflects the face, huh?

What's that mean?

But man, God's word is just beautiful.

As water reflects the face, so one's life reflects the heart.

Um, I want to bring an observation to you that you may have never noticed.

Do you know that in all your days and all your months and all your years and all your decades of being you, you have always had your face.

Always.

You know you were born with your face?

You came into this world with your face, you always had your face, you will always have your face.

You've always had it.

But I want to tell you something about your face.

Everybody that's ever come in contact with you have seen your face except for you.

Do you know you're the only person in this world who has never seen your face?

You've never seen it.

I've never seen my face.

I can see my nose because it's big.

I can see it right now.

It's right here sticking out.

But I cannot see my face.

I've never seen my face.

And what the Bible is saying is back in that day before all the mirrors and all the cell phones where you can take pictures of yourself and all those things, um, the way one would see their face is by looking in the water.

And the water would reflect their face.

So you never saw your face, you only saw a reflection of your face.

When you went to the mirror, that you saw your face, that wasn't your face.

That was your face reflected.

You can't see your face.

You can see everyone else's face, but you cannot see yours.

But you can only see the reflection or a picture of your face.

And the Bible is saying you can't see your heart, you can't see it, you can't see what's actually in your heart, you can't see it.

Have anyone in here physically seen their heart?

No, it's it's and that's your physical heart, but you actually can't see your spiritual heart either.

You can't see your heart.

So the Bible is saying you have to look at your life, and your life is a reflection of what's in your heart.

So though I can't see my heart, I can see my life and see the reflection of my heart.

Because here's the deal: all of us will always see our heart wrong.

Because when you make a mistake, guess what you become?

A defense attorney.

When someone else makes a mistake, guess what you become?

A prosecutor.

Treason, treason, blasphemy.

But then when you do, you're like, well, see, what had happened was I was riding down the street, mad about something, and the Holy Spirit whispered to me, and he was like, You did that five times.

I was like, see, that's why I didn't pray this morning.

See, right there.

Don't judge me too hard.

I prayed that night.

But he just pointed out to me, like, you can be mad at somebody for doing the very thing you do.

Why?

Because when it comes to me, that wasn't what I meant.

How you know it was what how you know that was what they meant?

Your heart is reflected in your life.

So here's the deal, and it's gonna be a little uncomfortable this part.

You ready?

Okay, let's go.

Um what the scripture is saying here is judge your heart based on your life, not just your motives.

Because we're so deceived by our motives.

I didn't mean that.

I wouldn't do that, I didn't mean that.

What does your life say?

In other words, you're at odds with everybody in your life, but my have a peaceful, agreeable heart.

Well, how are you at odds with everybody?

Your life says the lie detector test came back with that was a lie.

Well, I just love everybody when no one's experiencing love from you.

And the fraternity test says you are not the father of love or the mother of love.

This is childish.

Um because you didn't birth no love.

You didn't birth love, you you you you didn't experience love.

Your life is saying something different.

You are saying that, hey, I got peace.

Let's ask your kids.

They like you ain't got no peace.

The only peace you got is the two fingers you threw up because you ain't got no peace.

What is your life actually saying?

Well, I'm just always kind and sweet.

Ask your husband.

Now he's gonna agree because he's a smart man.

But look at his eyes, he's gonna why?

Because he know the real.

Your life determines who you are, not what you think about yourself or what you would hope to be.

The same way the mirror reflects the face, your life reflects your heart.

No matter how you felt, I woke up feeling good this morning.

Felt real good till I got to the mirror, and the mirror was like, bruh, you had a bad night.

And you didn't get enough sleep.

I was like, oh my.

I started trying to fix some stuff because the mirror was like, bruh, you ain't cute.

No matter what I thought, the mirror has something else to say.

And no matter what you say, your life has something else to say.

Your life determines what's in your heart.

Well, I'm just generous.

Who?

You ain't ever bought nobody no food before.

You're stingy, you're greedy, you're not generous.

Because if we asked your life if you were generous, guess what your life would say?

Absolutely not.

So why do we tell ourselves we're something that our life don't agree with?

The Bible is saying, whatever your life says is what it is.

I give you another scripture.

This is your Bible.

It says, as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.

You are what you think, you are what you think in your heart.

Whatever you think in your heart, you're that.

Whatever you think in your heart, you're that.

Which means that if your life looks a certain way, it's because that's in your heart.

And if your heart is a certain way, then that's what you are.

You are what your heart is.

Nothing more, nothing less.

You are your heart.

That's why God looks straight at it.

God don't look at the outward appearance and the mask and the performances that you put on.

Some of you guys can put on a show.

God said, I'm looking straight at your heart, and it lets me know who you are.

And because we can't look through the heart like God, we can actually look at the life and we can see the reflection of the heart through your life and through how you live.

And my old office I used to have this quote on the wall, and it said, As a man speaks, so he thinks.

As a man thinks, so is he.

And I put the quote on my wall this way because it started at the front, but it went back to the back.

See, whatever you speak, what comes out of your mouth is the overflow of what's happening in your heart.

So whatever's overflowing in your heart, it spills out of your mouth.

But whatever you say, you can backtrack it.

If I if I speak bitterness, guess what?

I think bitterness.

And if I think bitterness, guess what?

I am bitterness.

Because as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.

Or if I if I if I think anger, if I speak anger, that means I'm thinking anger.

And if I'm thinking anger, that means I have an angry heart.

So you gotta watch your mouth.

You gotta watch your mouth, you gotta watch your mouth, you gotta watch your mouth.

Because Jesus told them, he said, it's what comes out of the mouth that defiles a man.

And what's coming out of your mouth defiles you because it's already in your heart.

So he said, if you just watch what comes out of a man's mouth, it defiles him because what came out of his mouth came out of his heart.

You have to guard your heart.

You have to guard it, you have to purify it.

You have to let Jesus cleanse your heart.

You have to let him purify your heart.

So, whatever's in your heart, you you're that, you're a reflection of that.

You you're a living embodiment of what's happening in your heart.

You have to protect your heart.

And and let me tell you this about your heart is your heart is a storage.

Everything that happens in your life, your heart stores it and it keeps it, and then it reproduces it.

Your heart is a storage.

So what do we have to do to make sure we have a pure heart?

I'll show you.

If you have your Bibles, go to Proverbs 4, verse 23, and I love it because Solomon deals atone with the heart.

Proverbs 4:23

He says, above all else, guard your heart for everything you do, it flows from it.

Above all else, guard your heart for everything you do, it flows from it.

Above all else, guard your heart, because everything you do flows from it.

Solomon said, above all else, above everything else, above guarding your money, above guarding your property, above guarding anything in your life, your valuables, your Rafa, your investments, your finances, all the things that you find valuable and treasure in this life, the Bible says, guard your heart above all else.

Because everything you do flows from this place.

Guard your heart because parenting flows from this place.

Guard your heart because marriage flows from this place.

Guard your heart because discipleship flows from this place.

Guard your heart because who you are flows from this place.

Every ounce of you flows from your heart.

It's your fountain, it's your flow.

Everything you do, everything you say, how you think, how you process, how you react to things, how you handle being corrected, how you handle being coached, how you handle being, how you handle being redirected.

Anything in your life comes back to here.

Your heart.

Everything you do.

So above all else, guard it.

Guard it.

And when the Bible said it was guarding it, it was saying guard guard it like a soldier guards a palace.

Be vigilant when you guard it.

Be careful what you let get to your heart.

You can't let anything get to your heart.

You can't let any anybody get to your heart.

I can't watch that on TV.

Why?

I'm guarding my heart.

I can't go to those places.

Why?

I'm guarding my heart.

Can't be around those people.

Why?

I'm guarding my heart.

Ain't got time for your drama.

I'm guarding my heart.

Don't want to know about the gossip.

I'm guarding my heart.

Don't want to know about what's going on.

I'm guarding my heart.

I don't have time for all of that.

I'm guarding my heart above all levels.

And I know you mean what, but the devil is trying to use you to get to my heart, and I can't have it.

I'm drawing a permanent boundary line around my heart.

I have to protect my heart because my heart is my responsibility.

I am responsible for my heart.

I'm responsible for my heart.

No one else is responsible for your heart.

You have to guard it.

Your mama can't guard it.

Your spouse can't guard it.

Your kids can't guard it.

You have to guard your own heart.

And what you have to do is say, my heart, my responsibility.

Your heart, your responsibility.

Don't make your heart my responsibility, and I won't make my heart your responsibility.

And this is how you have to live.

I remember my wife and I, before we got married, we went and we ate at Chili's.

And I told her this.

I made a couple promises to her.

I said, hey, I want to tell you something.

I said, I think you're going to be an amazing wife, but you will be a terrible savior.

I think you're going to be an amazing wife, you will be a terrible king.

And I said, I want you to know that I will guard my heart.

And my heart is my responsibility.

My peace is my responsibility.

And my happiness is my responsibility.

Me and Jesus, and I would never put that on you.

I would never require you to make me happy or peaceful or you to guard my heart or protect my heart.

Because that's my responsibility.

I said I would never put that stress on you.

That every day you would get a version of me that's the best version of me.

Because if you were the author of my heart, you will fail.

Because there's gonna be a moment you miss that I needed something, but he never misses a moment.

There's gonna be a day you're not there, but he never misses a day.

There's gonna be an hour you're unavailable, but he's always unavailable available.

I'm gonna be in places you can't be, and he's omnipresent.

I'm gonna go through things you don't know, but he's omniscient and all-knowing.

My heart, my responsibility, and I won't put that on somebody else.

Some of you guys are in this room unhappy because you're expecting someone else to be the author of your happiness, and you up that night side while he's snoring in your ear.

Now don't slapping, let him sleep.

Because that's between you and God, your happiness.

Between you and God, don't put that much pressure on your spouse.

Their spouse is in this room right now.

You sitting next to each other, and yeah, you come to church high, blessing, highly favored.

Y'all ain't even talking when y'all get home because you expected them to take care of your heart and they didn't, and you're offended and you're mad.

And you know I'm preaching the real because I can feel it.

Because you put expectations on them that you were supposed to put on God.

He's not God, she's not God.

Only Jesus is God, and only Jesus can satisfy the longings and the cravings of your heart.

Love your spouse, serve your spouse, do everything you can to care about them.

Love them, give them access to your heart, all the things.

But he's the author of your heart.

He writes the story of your heart, he heals your heart, he repairs your heart.

The only thing that people are gonna do for your heart is break it occasionally.

That's it.

Here's my heart.

Hey, I may break that thing on accident, but I know one who can put it back together every single time.

Stronger than it's ever been.

And that's the God we serve.

My heart, my responsibility.

Your heart, your responsibility.

I won't make my heart your responsibility, so don't make your heart my responsibility.

And when you live like this, now you can finally have the joy of God and the shalom of God and the peace of God because your heart is actually in a place where it can be perfected by Christ and purified by Christ.

You gotta have a good heart.

Some of you guys are harboring things and you're harboring a bad heart, and you have to protect your heart.

So the question is, Pastor Cajun, how do I protect my heart?

I'll tell you how to protect your heart.

You protect your heart with your head.

In life, nothing valuable protects itself.

The valuable thing always has something else protecting it.

Guard your heart above all else.

The heart can't guard itself.

The heart can't guard itself.

You have to guard your heart.

And let me tell you why you have to guard your heart.

It's because your heart has zero ability to discriminate.

It has zero ability to discriminate.

That's why you have to guard it.

Which means your heart is a garden and it accepts weeds and seeds.

When you go to a garden, a garden to take anything.

I done roll by some houses' bushes like this.

What you plant over here?

What kind of garden is this?

I done seen some twisted bushes just like what's going on?

Why?

Anything you put in that ground will come back out.

Why?

Ground don't discriminate.

It will grow an apple tree and it will grow a cactus.

Maybe you want that, but I don't want that.

Soil don't discriminate.

Which means your heart don't discriminate.

It will reproduce trees of love or trees of hate.

Trees of joy or trees of sadness.

Trees of faith or trees of doubt.

Trees of belief or trees of fear.

Trees of peace or trees of anxiety.

It does not discriminate.

It just reproduces.

It doesn't care.

It just reproduces.

Whatever you put in your heart, you come to your heart.

Well, you know, nobody loved me.

Your heart, like, okay, cool.

And all of a sudden, the nobody love me tree.

It's in your heart.

Well, you know what?

I ain't got nobody.

All I got is myself.

I got to get through this by myself.

It's gonna pop right up in your life.

And then the devil is so strategic.

Do you know Jesus actually bragged on the devil one time in the Bible?

He bragged on because he talked about how regiment and how surgical and how orderly Satan's kingdom was.

That Jesus was kind of looking at Satan's kingdom.

He was like, Man, we ain't even running like that.

They is regiment and surgical.

Satan's kingdom is they're aligned.

This like the devil don't take days off.

They ready.

The devil's ready.

A negative thought already sitting in your head right now.

Just right here, already in your head.

Ready for you.

Satan's kingdom is regimen.

So here's what he does.

When you're a little bitty kid, based on your parents, and I'm not gonna get too scientific, based on your parents and the things they fought and the and the and the and the scars and the wars they went through, inside of their DNA coding is thought networks.

Thought networks.

Those thought networks get passed down to you in your DNA.

It's called epigenetics.

So things your parents fought is literally in your body when you're born.

Dormantly.

It's called epigenetics.

Look it up.

Which means that if your dad fought lust his whole life, it's in your body dormant.

That's why it says the sins of the father fall to the second and third generation.

This is your Bible, Deuteronomy.

It's sitting there dormant, and Satan don't fight you.

He's been fighting you 40 generations ago.

It's called a generational curse.

He's been fighting.

He fought your grandpa, your dad's dad, dad, dad, dad, dad.

This fight has started long before you got here.

So he knows what's already lying dormant inside of you.

And here's what he does: the devil, which makes his attack so strong, is because of what Bruce Lee said.

Bruce Lee said, I do not fear the man who has tried 10,000 kicks.

I fear the man that has tried one kick 10,000 times.

The devil won't hit you with a ton of things.

He's gonna hit you with the same things over and over and over and over again.

Your mama didn't think she was enough?

Her mama didn't think she was enough.

Now you don't think you're enough, and now everything in your life, that little C was there, it got activated and planted, and the devil spent your whole life watering it.

Getting cosigners to cosign it.

So now you go to school, things don't go right, signature.

You go to your job, things don't go right, signature.

You date that guy, he abuses you and mistreats you, signature.

And now you look up and you have a wall full of signatures cosigning the fact you're not enough.

Why you just read a little scripture every month saying you are and wondering why you're still depressed and anxious and losing this spiritual warfare.

Satan takes every opportunity to water the lies in your life, and now you are living with the lies.

So he just keeps fighting you in the same way over and over and over.

And because your heart is a garden, a garden don't discriminate.

So what happens is all of a sudden it started out as a seed.

You play with it, then that seed became a tree, and then as that tree got watered over and over again, that tree became a stronghold.

And what's a stronghold?

It's a hold that got you strong.

And now all of a sudden, it's one of those gigantic trees with the root system across the field.

And now you're trying to kick one of those down with your once every other month verse.

Wondering why you still feel like you're not enough, even though you know it's true that he said you are.

Which means that sometimes deliverance has to be just as violent as bondage was.

It has to be just as violent.

You have a violent, you have a violent role to bondage, and you just want a cute deliverance.

No, sometimes you gotta get ugly, sometimes you gotta get out your seat, sometimes you gotta get desperate, sometimes you gotta get before God and say, God, I'm desperate and I'm hungry for your presence, and I'm hungry for more of you, and I want you to set me free.

I don't want to live like this no more.

I want these chains broken off, these scales broken off.

I want to break the back of the enemy off of my life.

You have to get desperate before God.

You gotta get desperate.

So you have these trees and strongholds because of these seeds, even the good things in your life.

Everything ain't bad.

Come on, that's what I'm talking about.

She's fired up, I'm fired up.

Let's go.

Even the good things in your life.

Seeds.

And some of you guys got little seeds of love in your heart.

And then I just love people.

I don't need Jesus.

I just love people.

I love people.

I don't need Jesus.

You knew you do need Jesus, and yeah, you may have a seed of love in your garden, but guess what?

Those seeds get corrupted because as soon as someone betrays you, now you're gonna find out it's a thin line between love and hate because what you thought you love, now you're hating.

And this is why you need Jesus in your heart, because the Bible says that that the word of God, which is seed, the Bible calls the word of God incorruptible seed.

Which means that when you have the agape of God, when the love of God is inside of your heart, that seed is incorruptible.

It can actually survive betrayal, it can actually survive being stabbed in the back, it can actually survive being used and abused and looked at funny.

Why?

It's incorruptible seed, Pastor.

How do you know?

Because I saw it on display when he was on the cross and say, Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.

Well, I have an incorruptible seed of love on the inside of me that comes from the spirit of God, and I can be getting nailed and forgiving somebody at the same time.

If you don't have that kind of love, do you have love at all?

Incorruptible seed.

So this is where you got to go before the word of God, and you gotta let the word of God fill your garden, and you gotta let the scriptures water your garden, and now you gotta let truth be a stronghold, not a lie.

And this is how the believer is supposed to live.

This is what the believer is supposed to experience.

This is how your life is supposed to go and flow.

Guard your heart above all else because out of it flow your life.

It comes out of your heart.

We just got a bad marriage.

No, no such thing.

There's bad hearts in that marriage.

We correct the hearts, it corrects the marriage.

Everything goes back to here.

It all goes back to here.

Get your heart right, get your life right.

So the enemy is after your heart.

So the Bible said, hey, above this, above all else, guard it.

Well, if I had a home, and there was something in my home, and if the Lord was like, hey, above all else, guard this, what is he saying?

He's saying because this is most valuable, and this is most likely what the thief is going to try to come and take.

So he's saying, above else, guard your heart because your heart is most valuable.

And he said that this is what the thief is going to try to take.

Can I go ahead?

Can I go a little bit deeper?

Okay, let's go a notch deeper.

Ezekiel 36.

Let's let's go to Ezekiel 36.

You guys are there ready.

Ezekiel 36.

Verse 26.

It says, I would give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you.

I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Let's read again.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you.

I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Jesus didn't just come to improve your heart.

He came to give you a new one.

He came to give you a new heart.

So we talked about guarding your heart, but there's something we have to do before we guard our heart.

We have to first let God change our heart.

Because if we guard our heart without letting God change our heart, we're guarding the broken pieces of our heart.

All of a sudden, if we're guarding our heart without letting God change our heart, now we're guarding bitterness.

Now we're guarding hate.

Now we're guarding envy.

Now we're guarding jealousy.

Now we're guarding malice.

We're guarding the bad things in our heart because we have to let God change our heart.

Then we have to guard our heart.

So let God change your heart, purify your heart, renew your heart.

Then you guard it.

You guard what God has said.

You guard what God has spoken.

You guard what God has done inside of you.

You guard it, you guard it, you guard it, but you can't guard it until you let God change it.

God wants to change your heart.

He's not coming to do a revised thing, he's coming to do a renewed thing.

He's coming to renew your heart.

He's giving you a new heart.

But many people struggle experiencing a new heart because they don't have a renewed mind.

It's hard to walk in a new heart without a renewed mind.

God wants to renew your mind.

He wants to renew your mind.

He wants to do a new thing inside of your mind.

He wants to renew your mind.

Because the enemy is going to come after your mind to get to your heart.

So God's going to give you a new heart.

It ain't something that you have to do.

This ain't positive thinking.

This ain't wishful thinking.

This ain't hocus focus.

This is the power of God.

This is discipleship and sanctification and going through this process with Jesus.

And he gives you a new heart and a new spirit.

The Bible says you are a new creation in Christ Jesus.

Old things have passed away.

Behold, all things have become new.

Well, you let God do a new thing in you.

But you can't let God do a new thing with an old mind.

Because the old mind is what feeds the heart.

And even if God gives you a new heart, your old mind is going to bring the old stuff back to your new heart.

The devil is after your.

And here's the hard part about fighting the devil when he's after your heart.

The devil, when he comes against you and he fights against your heart, sometimes he uses facts.

He uses facts.

But even though they're facts, they're fabricated.

When Jacob was told that Joseph was dead, his brothers convinced him because they brought him to Joseph's bloody coat.

And because he saw evidence, he believed his son was dead.

But his son wasn't dead.

But the devil will always bring evidence.

Why?

Because he will always bring facts to the courtroom, but they will always be fabricated.

The facts are fabricated.

Yeah, they left you, but they were supposed to because God had a better plan for you.

Yeah, you didn't get in, but you weren't supposed to get in because it wasn't God's timing.

He has a kairos moment for you, which is his divine timing.

Yet things didn't work out because God had another path for you.

Just because there's evidence don't make it true.

Just because there's evidence, it doesn't make it true.

You must guard your heart after God's changed it.

And then lastly, as I get ready to close, we asked a question in the beginning, and that question was how do we purify our hearts?

And the answer is simple.

We don't.

He does.

He purifies our heart.

Can we give him a shout of praise?

So if you have your Bible, I want to show you something.

And then we'll get ready to close.

Psalms 119, verse 9 through 11.

Psalms 119:9–11

How does one purify the heart?

I'm gonna show you exactly how to do it through this verse.

Psalms 119.

Verse 9 through 11.

And it reads, How can a young man keep his way pure?

Talking about a pure heart.

By guarding it according to your word.

With my whole heart I seek you.

Let me not wander from your commandments.

I have stored up your word in my heart that I may not sin against you.

Don't you just see how beautiful the Bible ties together?

Isn't it just beautiful?

It's so beautiful.

It looked like we just made this verse up.

God is that synchronized in his word.

People that say the Bible country did clearly ain't read it.

Psalms 119.

Let's read again.

How can a young man keep his way pure?

By guarding it according to your word.

You guard your heart according to his word.

And with my whole heart I seek him.

Are you seeking him with your whole heart?

Seeking him with it.

Let me not wonder from your commandments.

I have stored up your word in my heart.

That I may not sin against you.

So here's how we purify our hearts.

We purify our hearts by storing up his word in your heart.

You get the word of God and you just start storing it.

Any lie you believe, you put the word in there.

You start putting scripture in there.

You know, let this mind that's in Christ Jesus be in you.

Like you gotta start, you know, you gotta start just putting the word of God in any scripture that combat what you're struggling with or what you're dealing with.

Scriptures that that make you feel like you're not enough.

You know, man, I'm I'm the child of a king.

I've been caught by God.

I've been bought with a price.

I'm a new creation in Christ Jesus.

I've been ransomed by Jesus.

I'm covered by his blood.

Like he's my king.

Behold, the Lamb of God who came to take away the sins of the world.

And you start storing all of this in your heart, and you start hiding his word in your heart, and the more of his word that gets in your heart, the more of the world that gets out.

And as his word begins to permeate your heart, it starts purifying your heart and cleansing your heart, and then you have a pure heart.

And the Bible says the pure in heart shall see God.

Why?

Because when you're pure in heart, you can see, but not only can you see, you can see God.

And when you're pure in heart, you can see.

What does it do?

A pure heart gives you proper perspective.

Proper perspective.

When you talk to someone and they don't have proper perspective, you're dealing with a heart that's not pure.

It's okay, it's just not pure because a pure heart gets proper perspective.

Watch Jesus throughout the whole Bible.

He always has proper perspective.

Watch Paul, he always has proper perspective.

Why?

Because a pure heart gets proper perspective.

With a pure heart, I can see.

And not only can I see, I can see God.

And when I see God, I can see how God sees.

So now I can live how God lives and handle situations, how God handles situations and handle problems like God handles problems, and I can now follow and become a disciple of Christ.

I can see, but I can also see God.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Which means if you're struggling seeing Him, you may want to check your purity.
