I wrote you a letter.

And because we're friends, and friends write each other letters.

I'm old school, okay?

And some of you don't remember, you know, this Gmail generation,

but I wrote it out by hand.

You know, they don't even teach cursive in school anymore.

What a tragedy.

But I wrote you a letter, so I want to share this with you, my friend.

We are friends, right?

Yeah.

Okay.

Don't say friend of me.

I heard you.

My friend.

If you've been feeling confused, if you've been feeling

uncertain, and even feeling unseen, you're in good company.

This message is for you.

Before Jesus ever healed a sick body, before he ever cast out

a demon, before, before he ever preached a sermon that shook

cities, he lived 30 years unseen.

No crowds, no platform, no miracles, no applause.

Just carpentry.

Just calloused hands.

Family tension.

It wasn't Jesus fault, I'll tell you that much.

Ordinary days in Nazareth.

And here's the uncomfortable truth.

Come on.

I'm writing you a letter.

My friend.

Most of what God does in you, he does where no one is clapping.

In a world obsessed with visibility, heaven is obsessed with

your development.

If you skip Nazareth because many of you are in Nazareth right

now, under the sound of my voice, you might get attention, but

you won't get authority.

And God wants to give you something greater than attention.

He wants to give you authority.

Oh, come on.

Even for Jesus, sonship preceded Savior work.

And you know, my handwriting is very sloppy, so if you're like,

this is.

I'm not slowing down for dramatic effect.

I just don't know what it says.

I shouldn't have hyped this up so much.

Don't repeat this semester.

Become like Jesus and graduate from it.

We're gonna start part two of Journey with Jesus.

And I want you to turn your Bibles to Luke, chapter two, verse

51.

So go ahead and find Luke, chapter two, verse 51 dot and, you

know, you can go old school.

You could say amen when you found it.

Luke, chapter two, verse 51.

All right.

You with me?

All right.

It says, and he went down with them and came to Nazareth.

And he was submitted to them.

This is young Jesus.

And it says, and his mother treasured up all these things in

her heart.

And Jesus increased in wisdom.

Everyone say wisdom.

And in stature, say stature.

And in favor, say favor With God.

And with men on Long island and.

And women in Brooklyn.

And.

Come on.

He increased in stature and wisdom, but also in favor with human

beings.

And with God now at this point in Jesus life, because we're going.

We're going to go on a journey today, and we're going to start in

Nazareth, where it all began.

Jesus is single, yet sinless.

For if you're single, you could go ahead and write that in

your notes.

Single and sinless.

Therefore, through Jesus, you can be single and sinless.

And all the single people said, amen.

Come on, Jesus, he demonstrated that wisdom is perpetual

obedience over time.

We know that wisdom cannot be knowledge because in the beginning

was the Word, and the Word was.

And according to John, Jesus is the Word.

So we know that wisdom can't be information because Jesus is the

Word.

And if Jesus increased in wisdom, wisdom must have a different

definition.

And it's perpetual obedience over time.

How many of you want to become wise in the kingdom?

That's like asking, who wants to be obedient over and over and

over and over again.

Are y' all with me or did I lose you?

Okay, so I'm speaking to some single people to start.

Because you see this season of Jesus Life, and you know, listen,

some of you learned this the hard way, but then you decided, like,

no, no, no, it's not gonna work on me anymore, Devil.

The last time they slid into my DMs, I slid into deception.

But I am now into the truth, and I can't.

Come on, some of you, it was enough for them to take you on a

nice date, but you're not impressed with money anymore because

you have a father who owns everything.

Are there any sort of single people.

Who are going to be sinless people?

Because Jesus demonstrated that he gives us the power to be

single and sinless.

Come on, somebody just say, it's not working on me anymore.

You know, where are my single people at, by the way?

I'm going to do.

Come on, don't raise your hand too high.

Come on, turn in church.

They just turned Brooklyn into a whole dating scene right now.

It's like, some of you are like, why are we even coming to all

these services?

Oh, the Lord rebuke you.

Jesus is sinless.

I'm gonna go deeper now.

He's sinless, yet he increases.

He's sinless, yet he increases.

There should be an expectation in your life that you increase.

No shortcuts, no divine bypass.

It's just literally, the Son of God needed a process.

How many of you need one, too?

Okay, and when I'm thinking about this, who's gonna graduate

this semester?

Instead of repeating it?

Oh, come on.

A lot of Christians say I'm in a season.

You're not in a season because a season God locks you in there.

But many of us are in a semester where God says, I'll let

you out as soon as you finally pass your test.

And what you see with the semesters of Jesus hidden years is

that he had to pass tests.

You know, Nazareth.

Now I want to start in Nazareth.

It's the School of Sonship.

Now, I want to encourage you if you have not subscribed to my

YouTube channel.

I know many of you are watching through V1, I have supplemental

teachings.

I went to Israel and I did this entire journey through Israel,

and I accumulated teachings on this whole journey, and they're going

to begin to be released.

And I want you to make sure that you're watching it.

I actually stood on a mountain in Nazareth, and it was an incredible

message.

And so I want you to get the supplemental as you journey with

Jesus.

How many of you are excited to go on that journey and to kind of

get more?

So I want you to get, get that.

It's so powerful.

But Nazareth is really Jesus, like home base where everything starts.

And I call it the School of Sonship.

And this message is unlike anything I've ever preached.

Like, I'm.

I don't know if you can feel the excitement that I have, but because

many of you are in a Nazareth right now.

You are in a Nazareth right now.

But I need to help you, because Nazareth is not punishment,

it's preparation.

Oh, can I just say it again?

Nazareth is not punishment.

It's preparation.

When you go to Israel, in the ancient world, it would have been

received as if, well, you know, you're Jesus of Nazareth.

I mean, what good does comes out of Nazareth, right?

So some of you are like, why was I born and raised where I was

raised?

Why did I receive the family that I received?

Can I give you good news?

God did not give you that as a punishment.

He gave it as a preparation.

And you have to begin to decode where you come from in order

to understand why he saw fit that you would have that preparation.

Oh, Mike, I don't believe this.

I had a deadbeat dad who was.

He used to beat my mom, and my dad left us.

Okay, that wasn't punishment for you.

That was preparation.

Because God is gonna raise you up as a father, not just in your

own family, but a father in the kingdom.

And you are gonna be what you never had.

And so your childhood wasn't punishment.

It was preparation for your purpose.

And God knew that you would survive it.

So that you would give the plan for other people to survive

it.

Is there anybody who believes that?

So Nazareth is not punishment, it is preparation.

This is what you see in the life of Jesus.

It was not God delaying Jesus, it.

Was God developing Jesus.

I used to say, nobody came to save me, nobody helped me.

I don't have a ministry family and I gotta do this all by my Lord.

I'm so far behind those other pastors, their dads were pastors.

And the Lord says, I was not delaying you, I was developing.

You see, whatever your situation is under the sound of my

voice right now, I want to give you the good news.

You were not delayed.

You were being developed.

Some of you come from dry churches, dry as a bone.

Churches where, come on, Nobody, nobody prays.

Not even the mouse and the mousetrap.

Nobody you know, some of you come from churches where.

You know, the old Oregon churches, You know that old church

mother, 114 years old, playing the same song.

Some of you spent years in a denomination where no truth was being

declared from the pulpit and or political games in the church.

And you often feel like God, how many years of my life did I waste?

But I'm telling you, you are not being delayed.

Even at that other church you were being developed because in that

all that dry dead religion, God was giving you an appetite for

meat.

He was giving you an appetite for revival.

He was giving you an appetite for the things of the spirit.

And you know, thirstiest you've ever been is when you don't

have water.

The hungriest you've ever been is when.

You don't have food.

And sometimes God will bring you through a season.

That's not punishment, it's preparation.

He'll bring you through a church and you're like God.

I thought I told you told me to go there.

He did.

To starve you out so you would get an appetite for some spiritual

food.

Come on.

Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

I'm just setting you up because this is Nazareth.

Somebody say Nazareth?

Come on.

Luke tells us something really explosive as he's narrating this.

He was submissive to them.

Jesus was submitted to his parents.

Let that sit.

Jesus was submitted.

But isn't he the son of God?

Shouldn't Mary and Joseph be submitted to Jesus?

Yeah, that comes later.

But in his childhood, Jesus was submitted to them.

At 12 years old, Jesus said, now I don't know where Everly is.

I have an 11 year old who's going to be 12 in April and I now

have a Pretty good idea of that developmental stage.

And I think about Jesus saying this and it's funny.

He said, did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?

This is Luke, chapter 2, verse 49.

Luke 2:49

Can you imagine a little 12 year old Macaulay Conkin looking

Jesus?

Come on.

Can you imagine him saying like, did you not know that I must

be in my Father's house?

But he was submitted to his earthly father even though he was

commissioned by his heavenly Father.

Some of you need to get the revelation of submission.

See how quiet it got.

Oh, no, did they just say the S word?

Yeah.

Submission.

This was revelation.

He has clarity, he has his calling.

And then he goes home and he does the dishes.

Jesus in the ancient world doing dishes with fabuloso, that

was not weakness, that was strength.

Because he was obeying the authority that had been placed over

his life.

And he knew that Nazareth was just part of the process of development.

Come on.

If you're a theologian, prove it.

Join the coffee team.

Come on, do some dishes.

Come on.

If you move powerfully in the gift of deliverance and healing,

prove it to me.

Join the parking team and wave a spirit of suicide off of somebody

as they come into the parking lot.

And you might not always be in that parking lot, but you got to

go through that parking lot to get to the stage.

And some of you want to skip Nazareth to get to Capernaum.

No, no, no.

Submission.

Submission is not about limitation.

It's about learning restraint until God releases.

Y' all missed it.

Submission is not about limitation.

It's about restraint until God releases.

Let me tell you why.

Because if you jump over that line.

Before the gun and you're released by the authority.

Oh, come on, somebody.

Then you're disqualified.

No matter how gifted you are, if.

You start your ministry too soon, if you start your calling too

soon, you will disqualify yourself because you didn't listen.

To the one governing the game.

And I'm here to tell you, once.

God starts you, no man can stop you.

Once God starts you, not even the devil can stop you.

But I'll tell you this.

If you start yourself, you've already stopped yourself.

So submission, it's not limitation.

It's restraint until God releases.

Oh, I used to be the best preacher nobody ever heard of because

I worked in the kids department and nobody asked me to

preach.

But I dare not ask for myself, because if I open the door, then

my favor is going to be on that opportunity.

But if God opens the door, his favor is going to be on that opportunity,

I've never asked anybody if I could preach, but I've been asked

all over the world.

Because if you humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, then

in due season, he will lift you up.

And here's the thing, you they can.

Promote themselves, they can market themselves, but.

They can't lift themselves up.

But you got somebody else who comes out of nowhere, comes out of

obscurity.

And when God lifts them up, there ain't no marketing budget,

there ain't no co star hiding from the influencers that can do

it.

But when God does it, come on.

Somebody, it is restraint until God releases.

Nazareth trained Jesus to carry power without needing to prove

himself.

You don't need to prove yourself.

The most dangerous people in life are the ones who have something

to prove.

I'm from the hood, the barrio.

You know about that, you don't know about that.

They don't know about that.

It was well established that the most dangerous gang members were

not the high ups.

It was the young kids with something to prove.

I live in New York City, you know who's doing the stabbing, you

know who's doing the shooting.

It's not the high ranked guys.

It's the young guys who, who have a fragile identity that was

not established by a biological father.

Father.

Who are going into the streets doing dangerous things to prove themselves

to their gang father.

See, it's now in the local church.

The most dangerous people are the people who have something to

prove.

As a matter of fact, whenever you go into an orphanage, there's

two kinds of orphans.

There's the orphans that when you come in, they do every trick

they have.

Because they want you to adopt them.

And they think that their tricks and their performances are

gonna actually be the reason why you take them home into a real

family.

But then there's another kind of orphan in the orphanage that they

are so beat down by life that they're completely silent.

And many local churches are the same.

Look, I can sing, the music goes.

Quiet, the person in the back shout.

To the Lord all the.

Then the other guy, hey, I would like you to pray for two minutes.

Oh, yeah, I'll pray because the Lord told me.

And when he said it, and I'm like, no, I didn't ask you to.

Preach, I asked you to pray.

But you're doing a performance because you're proving that you're

an orphan.

So Jesus did not perform at all.

And there were 30 years where he's.

His identity is being developed in Nazareth and he's simply

saying, oh, Come on.

I am submitted to my parents who are submitted to God, and I don't.

And that submission is restraint until at year 30, God releases

me.

This is why later, he stands in.

Silence before Pilate and doesn't crumble.

Because silence is a weapon for someone forged in submission

and obedience.

How could you be silent in front of Pilate if you were never

silent before you got to that moment that was so crazy crucial.

See, what's happening is Jesus is going to know how to close his

mouth in his ministry, because he knew how to shut his mouth when

he was in Mary's home.

And see, he was training for reigning from Bethlehem to Nazareth.

You can't skip the step because you won't be ready for pilot

if you don't learn the lesson in Nazareth.

Come on.

I'm tired.

Some of y', all, this might be going over your head right now.

I'm telling you, this is not taught.

A silent semester will teach you how to restrain yourself in a

successful season.

It's connected and you cannot disconnect it.

It's like all those years in silence so that when you are in your

calling, you'll remember how to restrain when the Lord says, don't

speak.

Let me speak on your behalf.

And you know who's the guiltiest of that?

Your pastor.

Man, I love to clap back.

And I'm like, lord, take me back to Nazareth.

You know, I ain't Jesus, but I'm trying.

You know, Jesus could be silent before Pilate for three minutes

when it mattered the most, because he had been in relative obscurity

and silent for 30 years when no one thought it mattered.

It's all training.

It's all training, you know?

Write this down in your notes.

Nazareth gives us a fourfold formation.

Fourfold formation, number one.

Jesus grows in wisdom, which, as you know, is sustained obedience

over time.

So this is the fourfold formation of Nazareth.

Remember I said we're gonna spend three months going very deep

into the life of Jesus through Scripture.

So that way you'll know everything there is to know that

I can possibly think of about Christ.

And there's four things you find in Nazareth.

Number one is wisdom, which is sustained obedience over time.

Number two is stature, which is obedience with your body.

To increase in stature is obedience with your body.

The New Testament says that when you commit a sexual sin, you

commit that sin against your own body.

So to increase in stature, there's an obedience in your body.

And you know what you do with your flesh?

You break it.

You crucify it.

You tell it to shut up.

And you say you will not get in the way of God's divine purposes.

For my life, I'm not going to listen to my stomach.

I'm not going to listen to my.

Come on.

I'm not going to listen to any of my.

I'm listening to the voice of the.

Lord and that is maturity in the faith, obedience with your body.

That's stature number three, favor with God.

How do you increase in favor with God?

Intimacy in prayer.

Intimacy in prayer.

That's how you increase in favor with God.

You let him hear your voice.

Come on.

Am I the only one that the first 30 seconds of your prayer sound

so religious?

God, I come before thee.

Lord, forgive me, God.

You're like, what in the Lord of the Rings are you doing?

Then you'll get done with that and you're like, lord, I'm desperate.

I'm here for you, I need you.

Then if you press past that, you'll begin to experience this realm

of intimacy.

If the only time you're going to.

God is to ask forgiveness of sin, you are a milk Christian that

needs to mature.

If the only time you're going before God is with a guilt complex,

you have to deal with that demon of condemnation and say, shut

your mouth, I know who I am.

Many of you, God is bringing you into a deeper realm of prayer,

which is intimacy with him, where you get past the superficial

and you start stepping into the supernatural.

As a matter of fact, God will.

Give you assignments in prayer.

He'll tell you to dethrone principalities and powers.

He'll tell you to pray for people by name.

He'll show people faces to you.

He'll tell you to utter words.

Whatsoever is bound on earth will be bound in heaven.

But you have to do the binding because you are the agent of the

Lord through the Holy Spirit and the power of life and death comes

out of your tongue.

Whatsoever is loosed on heaven, on earth, is loose in heaven.

But you have to do the loosing.

Because you are the incarnate Christ through the Holy Spirit.

It's your physical body.

Yes, it's not the same as Christ's.

Body, but the Holy Spirit dwells in you, which is the same

spirit that.

Raised Jesus Christ from the dead.

So how many of you are gonna start operating in the supernatural

and step.

Up out of the superficial, Stop saying you're sorry and start

come on.

Doing what God's called you to do.

And prayer is an invitation for a dialogue.

I want to meet with you like I met with Moses.

But I had to tell him to look away because he couldn't withstand

my glory.

But because of the blood of Jesus, my glory now dwells within

you.

How many of you know the scripture that says we go from glory

to glory to glory?

Jesus.

Increase.

Get ready to increase.

Tell your neighbor, get ready to increase.

Number four is favor with man.

Number favor with man.

How do you increase in favor with people if everybody hates you,

it's you.

If you got a problem with everybody, you're the problem.

I don't know how to tell you this, but I've met people in life

that it's like everywhere they go.

I mean, somebody once told me, you know, they worked at Starbucks

and they would tell me, you know, people throw their drinks through

the window of the Star, right?

And they throw them onto me.

I can't stand these customers.

And I just asked them a question.

Do your co workers get drinks thrown at you?

It's the craziest thing that never happens to them.

The devil must hate me.

I'm like, I got bad news.

It's you.

Why?

Because you should be increasing in favor of.

Because Jesus increase in favor with man.

And if you are going to get persecuted, let it be real persecution,

not interpersonal conflict.

Because a lot of what we're calling persecution is not for the

gospel.

It's for your opinion.

You get what I'm saying?

So if it's going to be real, let it be real.

Can I get an amen on that?

So relational faithfulness and emotional intelligence needs to increase.

We need to become more aware of ourselves.

We need to grow in our ability to discern how we are contributing

to the situations in our lives.

And not everything is their fault.

Not everything can be blame shifted.

How many of you want to increase with favor with man and

with God?

Do you believe it's possible?

Okay, you know, what happened to Jesus in Nazareth was not accidental.

There was this whole person formation which we just talked about

that didn't just shape his theology, it shaped his central nervous

system.

And I know this is not talked about often in churches, but Jesus

physical body had to learn.

And your physical body has to learn your central nervous system.

This is the biological component to you.

And there are many Christians that have never allowed the Lord

to deal with their.

Their central nervous system.

I only recently started going on the journey of dealing with my

central nervous system.

But what you teach your body is you teach your body how to wait.

For those of you who deal with sexual sin, there is a biological

connection where you never taught your body how to wait.

And you give in to temptation.

And so, yes, there's a spiritual component, but every time

you give in, there's a neurological component.

And you've restructured your brain to.

To not ever wait.

This is the mechanism of addiction.

You must train.

So when Jesus was in Nazareth, now.

You understand from a biblical perspective why it took 30 years

for only three years of ministry.

Because his central nervous system was going.

To go through so much testing and.

So many trials that he never would have been able to withstand

the things.

I mean, think about how many haters, how many.

How much persecution, the.

Think about how many violent opposition that he encountered.

Think about the gossip and the slander.

It took 30 years to train his.

Body how to submit, how to wait.

How to love people so that he.

Could even endure three years of intense ministry that would change

the world.

Is this revelation for you?

You know, if Jesus couldn't learn how to be.

Oh, this is good.

If Jesus couldn't learn how to be misunderstood in the temple at

12 years old, his central nervous system would have never been

able to understand being misunderstood on the cross.

To get to the cross, some of y' all are saying, man, put me in

the parking lot.

Coach, put me on the coffee tank.

Because you're realizing that we have to do this.

We have to go through this.

It's not punishment.

It's.

Come on, y' all are learning.

It's not punishment.

It's preparation.

It's not delay, it's development.

Come on, now, write this one down.

Write this down.

I will be faithful without feedback.

I'll just stand back here while you write it.

I will be faithful without feedback.

I will be faithful.

That's a declaration.

Let's say it together across all the campuses of our church.

Say this with me.

I will be faithful without feedback.

Okay, now watch this.

Your motive validates or it nullifies your action.

Your motive is either validating or nullifying your action.

If someone does something for you in.

Public, for public affirmation, they weren't serving

you.

They were literally serving you as a.

Vehicle to serve themselves.

Have you ever met people like this?

The only reason why they helped you was to use the public

visibility of you helping them help themselves.

That's the motive, right?

And this is very important to understand.

If someone does something nice for you to be seen, they weren't

actually being nice.

They were doing something nice as a vehicle for visibility.

And it's even worse with social media.

I want you to see me feed the poor so that you think that I am

generous.

I want you to see me pray for people so that you think that I am

supernatural.

I want you to see me preach so that you think that I am authoritative.

And what happens is when you do.

It for visibility, you might be seen.

By man, but get rejected by heaven.

And you'll get applause, but you won't increase in authority.

Come on.

I'm trying to help somebody.

And there are people who've even helped.

You with a motive.

And their motive nullified their help.

And this is deep because when I look at Nazareth, humility says,

I will be faithful without feedback.

A fragile ego says, I will serve you to serve me.

But confidence in your identity says, I will serve if nobody

sees, because I am doing it unto the Lord.

And there's one who always sees.

Now you know, when you look at the Nazareth season of Jesus, now

you know why Abraham had to sacrifice Isaac without an audience.

He was testing his motive before he released the favor.

See, this unlocks the entire Bible.

Do you know why the widow woman was asked to give her last

bit.

Of oil and flour to the prophet?

Yeah, yeah, now I understand.

Because motives are going to be challenged before heaven and God

is seeing.

And he will ask you to do great sacrifices without great audiences

to determine.

Whether you're great or not.

Come on.

And it's the ones who will go into obstruction, obscurity.

It's the ones who are saying, God, if nobody knows I do it, I don't

have to put my name on it.

I don't have to do it for likes, for comments, for shares.

I'm doing it unto Jesus because heaven is taking record.

And before God, I know my heart's.

Gonna be a pure heart.

Is there anybody who will say, God, make that me a pure reflection

of your son, Jesus.

You know.

Now you know why God gave his only begotten Son and he did it quietly.

Born into a manger without a big audience.

Because faithfulness that doesn't require feedback always produces

eternal fruit.

Faithfulness that doesn't require feedback always produces

eternal fruit.

It's the things that you do when nobody is watching and you say,

God, if they never tell me I'm doing a good job.

If they never tell me and I'll tell you how I can't listen.

Many people have left the local church because they expected

their pastor to publicly affirm what they did.

Many people have left the local church because they expected

somebody would acknowledge it.

Listen, in a good church, you are gonna be acknowledged.

You will be seen.

But the thing is, you have to all.

We all have to deal with Our own motive, because who are we doing

it for?

And God will challenge you for many, many years about that.

And I feel like this message is especially important to an Internet

age because of the obscurity, because of the hiddenness and the

faithfulness of Nazareth.

Rejection didn't derail Jesus later on because you can't affect

a person with rejection who already killed their ego before you

tried to kill their reputation.

Mike, I see all the people making videos about you online.

Oh, no, no, let me explain.

At your last church, everybody talked about your pastor there too.

He just wasn't significant enough for them to publish videos

about it.

So it was the same amount of gossip.

It's just that I've come to the point where people can get views

putting my name on their content.

And so the thing is, your church.

Gossip, they talk just as much about your pastor.

They just did at the dinner table.

Not in the YouTube.

In the YouTube table.

You get what I'm saying?

So it ain't nothing different.

Matter of fact, some of you made the video, you just never hit

record, you know what I'm trying to say?

So I don't know if I could go to V1.

There's all these videos about about my.

Pastor, but there's all these conversations about your last pastor

that never made it to video.

It's the same spirit, it's the same flesh.

And here's the thing.

Jesus dealt with it, so we're gonna deal with it too.

But Jesus said, I killed my ego in Nazareth so that I could survive

your rejection in Capernaum.

You can't touch me because I'm a dead man walking and I've made

myself of no reputation so that when I got up on the other side.

You can't kill what doesn't exist.

So Mike Signorelli died before I got to New York.

So you can't touch me while I'm here.

I don't care what you think about me because I never did it for

an audience of all of y'.

All.

I did it for an audience of one.

But what happens in private eventually comes out publicly.

This is the thing about Jesus.

Private intercession becomes public power.

Private death to the ego becomes a public surviving of rejection.

And this is the message that God has for you.

Some of you are like, lord, use me for my calling.

And he says, die to your ego so you could survive the comment

section of your calling.

I pastored rows of empty seats before.

I pastored campuses across the country.

I preach with the same integrity for 20 people than I do

for 20,000 watching right now.

And some people say, oh, he changed.

I did.

I'm increasing in stature, I'm increasing in favor and I'm increasing

in wisdom.

The real question is, why haven't you changed?

Come on, somebody help me preach this sermon today.

People look at you.

Oh, you change.

Yeah, we're supposed to change.

I'm going from glory to.

I got a new revelation, I got a new authority.

I got a new power.

You're going to have to kill that idea of the person you used

to met, because he's taking me higher.

God never once in those moments, said, mike, I know that

there's only so many people grow faster.

He never told me, grow faster.

He said, I'm pleased with your yes, and I'm pleased with your motive

when nobody sees.

Keep going.

Some of you need to hear this right now.

This is prophetic.

God is not disappointed in your pace.

He is delighted in your faithfulness.

Let my life be a witness to yours.

All the odds are against what you're seeing right now.

All the odds are against what I've done, what our church has done.

But see, what happens is when God is honored by your faithfulness,

you don't have to worry about pace.

God will never tell you grow faster, but he will always tell you,

keep being faithful.

Keep seeing.

Yeah, saying yes.

And keep seeing my promises fulfilled.

Now, as I close, I want to take you from Nazareth to Jordan,

because this is Bethlehem to Nazareth, Nazareth to Jordan.

And I. I probably will not be able to drop you off at Capernaum,

but my goal is to pick up in Capernaum we're literally journeying

with Jesus.

It's.

I'm telling you and, and stay locked in for this series, because

I believe it's going to change your life.

Thirty years in Nazareth unlocked one moment now.

And this is the best way to end this message.

Luke, chapter three.

So we just went from Luke two to Luke three, and I'm telling you,

your pastor preached this wrong your whole life.

So I'm just about to mess you up.

So just get ready for it.

And while he was praying, the heavens were open and a voice came

from heaven.

You are my beloved Son.

Son.

Not Savior, not prophet, not preacher, not.

Evangelist, not demon slayer, not worship leader.

You are my beloved Son.

With you I am well pleased.

Heaven doesn't validate results.

Heaven affirms identity.

I need you to catch this before we go deeper.

There's no miracle yet, no sermon yet, no demon cast out yet,

yet just identity.

Heaven doesn't say good job over the results.

Heaven says, you are mine.

Let me make it even more plain.

Many of you have said, heard pastors say things like, well, he

said, I'm well pleased with you, son.

Before he did anything.

No, no, he didn't do the ministry things yet, but he actually

fulfilled the hardest part of ministry, which was 30 years of obscurity

and faithfulness and 30 years of staying locked in and 30 years

of submitting to his parents, even though his intellectual prowess

was greater, even though his gifting was greater.

And the thing is, when pastors say.

Well, look at God affirm Jesus before Jesus did anything.

No, no, he actually affirmed Jesus in response to Jesus doing

the hardest thing thing first, because casting out demons is easy.

Y' all aren't even getting it, y'.

All.

The sons of Skiva use the name of Jesus to cast out demons, people.

It's so easy to cast out demons.

All you do is tell, tell them, go.

It's just like kicking a little Chihuahua to tell them, get

out of the room.

It ain't that big of a deal.

Well, look at me, I'm a demon slayer.

No, no, first of all, you're using Christ's authority to do the

word work, which doesn't make you that much important anyways.

I prayed for a sick person and they recovered.

Yeah, but was it your power or was it his power?

So you get credit for being the glove, but he's the hand, you

get what I'm saying?

So what Jesus is getting affirmed for.

Is actually the hardest thing he's getting.

God is saying, this is my son.

In whom I'm well pleased.

But what was he planning?

Pleased with?

He was pleased with his submission, he was pleased with his

restraint, he was pleased with his patience, he was pleased with

his long suffering.

He was pleased with, oh, come on, you're about to get it.

You're about to get it.

So when your pastor said, oh, look.

This is how God.

God's pleased with us before we do anything to know that's not

necessarily true.

Or what happened was Jesus just went through three decades of

testing and trials.

And then the Lord says, this is my son.

Now he's released to become the Savior.

Did you get that?

He passed the sun test before Savior work.

And many of us in the Kingdom, we want to do Savior work because

that goes viral.

We want to do Savior work because that's the thing that gets

a point.

APPLAUSE But God says, learn how to be a daughter, learn how to

be a son.

Go through that season, no matter how long it is.

And then you'll be released.

I feel a grace on this.

You know, people don't know this, but at Jesus baptism God's

not even speaking randomly, he's actually quoting scripture.

And many of you don't know this.

Psalm, chapter 2, verse 7 says, you are my son, today I have

Psalms 2:7

begotten you.

God is literally quoting the word to the word.

How amazing is that?

Isaiah, chapter 42, verse 1.

Isaiah 42:1

Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul

delights.

I have put my spirit upon him, Royal sonship, suffering servant.

This is the grace that we see in Nazareth.

Jesus is a first confirmed a son before he becomes the Savior.

And many of you are like, why did God Send me to V1 church to sit.

Why did God send me to this church?

Well, how is he going to possibly make room for me?

No, no, listen, you're not being delayed.

You're being developed and you're not being punished.

You're being prepared.

God will teach you how to be faithful before you're powerful so

that you can sustain being powerful.

God will give you identity before assignment so that when the

assignment is accomplished, your identity remains.

Come on, clock it.

Gen Z, this is wisdom.

I'm spitting bars for you right now.

Now watch.

I'm going to read it again and I want you to catch this because

this was.

I wrote this out by hand and I'm telling you I was.

The Lord was just breathing on this message.

And this is how we're going to transition out this weekend I'm going

to try to deliver you to Capernaum.

Jesus is affirmed as son before he becomes Savior.

Faithful before powerful, identity before assignment.

Because if you reverse that order, you can move crowds while

missing God.

And this is the state of the church right now.

We can move crowds, but we miss God.

We can get thunderous applause, but heaven does not respond.

And I'm telling you what I desire is to have a church that says

we are going to be nameless and faceless.

I don't care if history records me.

In the books, but I know that.

Every tear is recorded in heaven.

And I'm weeping over New York City.

I'm weeping over Long island like Jesus wept over Jerusalem.

I'm weeping for my family and my grandchildren.

And God, I know that you can use me to be a breaker.

I know God, that you can use me for this third great awakening.

And God, I'm humbly submitting myself to you.

And I will do what you tell me to do.

I will go where you tell me to go.

I will give what you tell me to give.

I'll say what you tell me to say.

And God, God, I am going to become faithful so that when I become

powerful, I can sustain the power.

God, I'm going to be submitted so that you lift me up.

Are there three people in this place that will jump up to their

feet and say, God, use me.

I'm here, I'm available, I'm willing, no matter how long it takes.

God, use me.

I got good news for you.

The greatest threat to your calling is not opposition.

It's building your identity on your usefulness.

So when you say, God, use me.

It'S not because you're useful.

It's because you're submitted and you belong to him.

Because God in a moment can make you a preacher, but God has

no ability to make you have integrity.

God in a moment could make you.

A singer, but God has no ability to develop your character

beyond what you allow.

That's what we bring to God.

And this is the time before we go.

Because listen, for the next three months, we're going to Capernaum,

we're going down that journey.

It's going to be a crazy, wild journey.

But when I look at these years of Jesus, this is what I say.

Jesus is baptized.

And that's why temptation comes next.

Right after the baptism of Jesus, he's released into the wilderness.

And the wilderness brings temptation.

Why?

Because Satan does not attack gifting, he attacks identity.

Satan uses this line, if you are the Son of God, he didn't say

if you are a preacher.

He didn't say if you're anointed to intercede and pray.

He didn't say if you're an anointed worship leader.

He literally said, said, if you are.

The Son of God.

So Satan does not tempt your gifting, he tempts your identity.

But your identity is formed in Nazareth.

And there's some of you that don't understand.

God is going to take you to do things that exceed your wildest imagination.

But he is forming the character and.

The integrity and the wisdom and the favor and the stature to

be able to withstand it right here.

And he's a holy God.

And God, I thank you that your ways are higher than my ways and

that your thoughts are higher than my God.

If I would have got everything I prayed for, it would have wrecked

me already.

But God, I say you wrecked me with your presence.

Because you are the gift.

You are the reward.

The reward is not the pulpit.

The reward is your presence.

The reward is not the opportunity of the stadium God.

The reward is the intimacy with you.

And God, I ask for more of you.

Not more opportunity.

I ask for more.

More of you.

This is how we become a worshiping church.

Because if you're worshiping your gifting, then you're.

You'll be sifted in the wilderness.

But if you worship him and you don't care about your gifting, then

from that place, he'll use you to continue the ministry.

I feel something right now.

Do you feel it stirring as well?

Because God is transforming this church into a worshiping church,

a praying church.

I believe that we are here to literally participate in opening

an old well of revival.

And it's gonna open.

But the thing is, once you remove the debris from that well,

you gotta prime that water to begin to flow.

So right now, that's what we're gonna do.

We're gonna prime the water to flow.

We're gonna prime the water to flow across every campus in the United

States.

And everybody watching right now because the enemy has the same

tactic, but a different century, and he's attacking your

identity.

Don't they know who you are?

Don't they know what you can do?

No.

No, I can do nothing apart from him.

I am nothing.

He is the vine and I am the branch.

Oh, you know what?

When I'm supposed to do it, the Lord will call.

I'm like Joseph.

The prison wasn't punishment.

The prison was preparation.

Nobody could stop him from becoming number two over Egypt.

See, I'm just like Moses.

Moses was being divinely positioned from God and even with

a stutter, was going to make it to his destination.

And so I got the same trust as Moses.

I got the same trust as Joseph.

God will bring me.

All I got to do is worship my way into the presence of God.

Worship my way into intimacy.

Pray my way into intimacy.

And the Lord himself will begin to lead me through that.

Come on, let's do this together.

Lift your hands towards heaven right now.

And I want us to begin to.

And here's what happens.

Uncertainty melts away.

Jesus was being tempted in the wilderness.

Many of you are in a wilderness season.

You're coming out of Nazareth into temptation.

The devil wants you to start too soon.

The devil's testing what you think about yourself.

But this is when you begin to worship right now.

And you begin to lift up your voice and say, God, I believe that

you are going to do this through me.

I believe, God, that I'M going to be humble and I'm going to be

patient.

And, Lord, you yourself are going to lead and guide me.

Come on, let's begin to pray.

vexing spirit, we break your power over the minds of this church

Every spirit of condemnation, every spirit of impatience, every

spirit that is seducing and drawing out.

our moment.

Because I'm going to train your mouth, I'm going to train your

vocal cords to get in alignment with the word of God.

So when you're feeling fear, what do you say to the spirit of

fear?

It is written, God has not given.

Me the spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind.

So shut your mouth.

I bind up every demonic spirit.

Spirit of fear.

Remember, I find it.

See, God is not going to do the work for you because he empowered.

You to do the work.

And so if you've been feeling unusual fear over your finances,

new strategies, new ways of doing things.

And God is going to unlock ability to do the impossible through

him, you're going to get your mind back.

I can have whatever my dad was wants me to have, and I will.

If the wicked can prosper, how much more?

The righteousness, the very seed of Abraham.

It makes God look good for me to prosper.

I've read the Bible, Genesis through Revelation.

And I don't see God's people not prospering.

But a season turns into a cycle when you don't believe that

God can get you out.

Stop listening to orphan Christians who have nothing, who

can give nothing.

Listen to the voice of your father.

Healing is yours.

God is not trying to bless you to hoard, but he will make people

a blessing to be a blessing.

And you'll distribute seed in the time of need, like Joseph.

But if you don't break a poverty mindset off even from misinterpreted

scripture, God could never lift you up.

Because how could you distribute seed lest you have more

than you need?

See, the Lord's trying to do something in your mind.

It's about identity.

This is a war.

It's always been a war over your identity.

That's why I kept saying we're going to preach stadiums when this

church was only 40 people.

Because the people who wanted to make it stay small, I was offending

them out the door.

And I'm still doing that.

This is why Jesus said, drink my blood and eat my flesh, because

he was offending people out.

He said, if you're offended by this, you never are going to survive

the Book of Acts.

And so what happens is that God, there's some of you that in

your attempt to.

People, please, you have actually reduced the.

Ability of God in your life because you've come into agreement

with orphan Christians.

Who am I talking to?

Orphan Christians?

You know what I say?

God, give me whatever you want me to have and put in me a character

to sustain it.

Lord, bless me so that I can be a blessing and I give more than

I ever even keep.

See, there's nothing wrong with that.

This is an identity thing.

identities that are not like Christ.

And the Lord will begin to show you things that your natural

Do you see yourself pouring the medication down the drain, never

needing it again?

Do you hear the words of the doctor telling you that the report

came back different?

You're in an atmosphere of faith right now.

Faith is the evidence of things.

Hope for the substance of things not seen.

Can you feel the keys in your pocket for the place that God gave

you that you can't be kicked out of because you own it?

We need identity upgrades in the kingdom.

We have orphans fighting orphans.

This church is not like that.

We are sons and daughters.

We Inherit, we build legacy ratio.

Increase.

Increase their faith.

How many times did Jesus say, oh.

Ye of little faith?

He was frustrated by people who didn't have faith.

And this is why when we're journeying.

With Jesus, we have to listen to what he was saying.

How many times did he say, oh, ye of little faith?

And see, there's going to be people.

That are offended by faith.

But see, God, God is pleased with faith.

It's the matter of fact, the scriptures say, for without faith,

it is impossible to please God.

And so people will say, well, Mike's a prosperity preacher.

And I say, I'm really not.

I'm just a faith.

I'm a faith God.

Oh, God.

Mike's a word of faith heretic.

No, I actually am pleasing God because I believe that he can do

it.

It's not a theological debate.

It is a rationale wrestling of the heart over.

If God said it, I have access to it, and I actually believe.

So right now, you're in an atmosphere of faith.

Some of you should.

Even if I were you in this atmosphere, I would literally say,

God, give me more faith.

Give me more faith.

Give me more faith.

Faith is a measure.

He said, if you have just a.

Faith of a mustard seed, you can move a mountain.

And that doesn't mean that he can do a lot with a little faith.

What he was actually saying is, you don't even have a little

bit of faith.

That's actually what Jesus was saying.

He's saying, you don't have any.

So some of you, you need to.

Say, God, give me a faith as a mustard seed.

Just give me a little faith, because I have no faith.

And God will give you faith.

But.

But then he says, you speak to the mountain and you tell the mountain

to move.

He doesn't move the mountain for you.

He doesn't say it for you.

He tells you to say it.

Come on, let's take a few more moments.

This is special for this service.

You know, my daughters are 19 years old and 11.

So that means that this church has existed for Everly, almost Everly's

entire life and half of Bella's life, like her developmental

years.

And because we were launching so many campuses, I didn't realize

that I'm always looking for buildings.

I'm always looking for things to get to rent for God's people.

Well, what that did in my daughters is in their young ages,

we're driving past something, and it has a thing for sale.

Oh, Daddy, can we have that then this other thing's for sale.

Daddy, what about this for V1?

Daddy, what about that?

And one day I was in prayer, and the Lord said, you see that the

father that you've been for your daughters has actually made

them believe that they have access to anything with a sign on

it.

See, I.

And you gotta understand, we didn't have nowhere to live.

We were home homeless.

We moved eight times in one year.

You remember that?

Eight times in one year, Mom.

And.

And because I had that orphan tendency, the Lord had to grow me

to the point where I believed that I could have access and see

that.

The thing that I believe.

The Lord's taking on a journey of.

Healing some things in your life to say.
