From Ritual To River

[SPEAKER_00]: So welcome everyone, good to see you.

[SPEAKER_00]: A great to be together.

[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome everyone joining us online and in the parents room as well.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here we go, new series called Overflow.

[SPEAKER_00]: Today, we're talking about performing a ritual and going into a river from ritual to river.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of green thumbs in the room.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel very under our prepared.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of people who joined into the,

[SPEAKER_00]: COVID craze of indoor plants, a lot of you are outdoor plant people, a lot of you have gardens, and I don't know much about gardening, but I do know you can't really kind of keep plants alive by just throwing a little bit of water over them every couple of months.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the leaves, just sprinkle them over the top.

[SPEAKER_00]: Most plants, I know you can kill plants by giving them too much water, but most plants need a good, deep, soaking every now and then.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is that true?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm looking at back here, but is that true?

[SPEAKER_00]: Mostly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Am I mostly right?

[SPEAKER_00]: Mostly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're depending.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, you can't, you know, I'm not really a plant person at all, but I know some of you are.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that for us when our lives with God is the same, you can't get by with a little sprinkle every now and then.

[SPEAKER_00]: You've been created for a deep, soaking in God's presence, and in who he is.

[SPEAKER_00]: We try and get by, you know, by a little bit of a drip

[SPEAKER_00]: here and there, little spitter spatter, here and there, but we need to be drenched, soaked, baptised, immersed in God Himself.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's offering water that will reach the deepest parts of us, deep down in the roots, and life begins to flow through that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Some of us, many of us, and I think throughout history, we've built our lives on a drip-feed spirituality whereas God wants to soak us so that we overflow.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because our life in faith, the Christian life is not supported by occasional drips from God.

[SPEAKER_00]: He fills them, God fills people until they overflow.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's read John chapter seven.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to use John again today, almost like a little bit of a bridge from where we've been in the last couple of months in the Gospel of John into where we're going now in this new series of overflow.

[SPEAKER_00]: John 737 to 39.

[SPEAKER_00]: On the last day of the feast, the great day.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus stood up and cried out.

[SPEAKER_00]: If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.

[SPEAKER_00]: Whoever believes in me as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now he said that about the spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: whom those who believed in Him were to receive for as yet the Spirit had not been given because Jesus was not yet glorified.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to unpack this text, these simple verses, and then we're going to apply them to our lives today, and set ourselves up.

[SPEAKER_00]: for the journey over the next few weeks that's ahead and I'll say right at the outset today we will be giving people an opportunity today I want to pray for some people today and so at the end of this message we're going to invite some of you to come forward to receive prayer that's going to be based around this text.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it starts by get by this word, this word.

[SPEAKER_00]: On the last day of the feast, the great day.

[SPEAKER_00]: What is going on?

[SPEAKER_00]: What feast?

[SPEAKER_00]: Why is there a last day?

[SPEAKER_00]: Why is there a great day?

[SPEAKER_00]: This feast is called Hoshana Rabar.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the great day.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the final day of the feast of booths.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Hoshan at this, we spoke about this Adam on Palm Sunday, where the Hebrew's Hoshan a Rebar, it means save us, save us, Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Rabbi means great, save us greatly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Please Lord come and do it right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a great cry for salvation.

[SPEAKER_00]: And by Jesus' time, this feast and this great day had been layered with several kind of levels of imagery.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, imagine this on the last date of the feast.

[SPEAKER_00]: They would take some water, go to the pool of Salam and take some water out of the pool.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they would bring it up to the altar and tip it out.

[SPEAKER_00]: over the altar.

[SPEAKER_00]: They would draw the water, carried up to the temple, and they would pour it out, and they would quote Isaiah 12.

[SPEAKER_00]: which says, with joy, you will draw water from the wells of salvation.

[SPEAKER_00]: Say that, would sing this song, this ancient song from Isaiah 12, with joy, you will draw water from the wells of salvation.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they would go to this pool, take some water, bring it up to the temple, and tip it out.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they would cry and chant, Hoshana Rabar, Lord save us.

[SPEAKER_00]: What's going on?

[SPEAKER_00]: So there's a water ceremony that they're tipping up on the altar.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're chanting out these words all at the same time.

[SPEAKER_00]: They would circle the altar seven times waving branches.

[SPEAKER_00]: And every time they circled the temple, the shouts got louder and louder and louder.

[SPEAKER_00]: So putting this all together water from there with joy, you'll draw water from the world's salvation.

[SPEAKER_00]: Tip it on the altar, walking around waving branches, saying, Lord, save us, what is going on?

[SPEAKER_00]: There's three things going on.

[SPEAKER_00]: One, they're remembering their history from where God, they were wandering in the desert and God produced water out of a rock.

[SPEAKER_00]: and they're saying, and they're reminding themselves, hey, God has come before and brought water to us before.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're also in this moment, praying for rain.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like literal rain, they're looking around at the crops.

[SPEAKER_00]: And at this time of the year, they're asking God that he would send literal rain to soak the earth so that their crop, it harvest time would be good.

[SPEAKER_00]: and then thirdly they're longing for this promise of the Spirit to come in the future.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's into this moment, right in this moment, water from the pool onto the altar, walking around chanting her shunner above, loud aloud aloud aloud aloud aloud aloud aloud aloud aloud aloud Jesus in the middle of this last day of the feast.

[SPEAKER_00]: Feast of booths, the great day Jesus stands up.

[SPEAKER_00]: He stands up in the middle of this ritual, and he says, if anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink, interrupt everything.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now we've been told, if this phrase is going around, read the room at the moment, read the room, get a bit of a vibe for what's going on and temper your presence by what's happening in the space, kind of read what's going on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus does not do this.

[SPEAKER_00]: He is not reading the room.

[SPEAKER_00]: Can you imagine that the temple worship is happening?

[SPEAKER_00]: People are shouting, chanting, things are going on.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're remembering all of this.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Jesus says, guess what?

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't need this ritual anymore.

[SPEAKER_00]: You need me.

[SPEAKER_00]: You need me.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're doing this over and over and over again.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm here to tell you, you're still thirsty.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know what, hold on a second mate.

[SPEAKER_00]: This has been, we're doing an ancient story here.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're telling something, we've been doing this for generations.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Jesus says, you're still thirsty.

[SPEAKER_00]: You've been praying for rain, you've been crying out, you've been memory water from the rock, you're praying for this thing that's gonna come.

[SPEAKER_00]: And here I am.

[SPEAKER_00]: What is being poured out?

[SPEAKER_00]: Songs are being sung, and Jesus says, you're still thirsty.

[SPEAKER_00]: What text is he drawing on here?

[SPEAKER_00]: He says, he says, he has the scriptures say out of his heart will flow rivers of living water, and it's tricky because there isn't one scripture that says that.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like a lot of times when the New Testament says as the Scriptures say, what you do is you can find the reference back in the Old Testament.

[SPEAKER_00]: Remember people in the New Testament times didn't have a New Testament.

[SPEAKER_00]: Their Bible was the Old Testament.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so when they're talking about the Scriptures, they're talking about things that are previously been written.

[SPEAKER_00]: There isn't one verse that Jesus is quoting here when he says as the Scriptures say.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's quoting Isaiah 12, drawing water from the world's of salvation.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's quoting as E.C.

[SPEAKER_00]: or 47, where there's a river flowing from the temple, bringing life and healing to the nations, and he's quoting Zechariah 14, where there's living waters that flow in the last days.

[SPEAKER_00]: So he's kind of mischmashing kind of weaving all of these scriptures together and saying, as the scriptures say, anyone believes in me out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a pretty crazy invitation, because Jesus says whoever believes in me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Whoever believes in me, if he says that anyone thirsts, now that is an interesting invitation, because it's radically open.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's for everyone, he basically says,

[SPEAKER_00]: Is there a big checklist of things that you need to do in order to get their first?

[SPEAKER_00]: Is there a hoops to jump through?

[SPEAKER_00]: Is there things that qualify you or disqualify you?

[SPEAKER_00]: He says, well, are you thirsty?

[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the whole, that's the bottom line for his invitation.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not just the qualified or the elite or the put together, it's just the thirsty.

[SPEAKER_00]: Out of his heart will flow.

[SPEAKER_00]: rivers of living water.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now we get hot in the New Testament.

[SPEAKER_00]: What it means is guts.

[SPEAKER_00]: This particular Greek word.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the ancients used to see that we talk about, you know, I love them with all of my heart and we see our hearts as the center of our being.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love it because in Bible times they saw the center of your being as your guts, like your intestines, your

[SPEAKER_00]: which is different, you know, it doesn't sound as good.

[SPEAKER_00]: But like, you know, modern pop songs would be different if you said I love them with all of my bells, you know?

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a strange one.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, and you can see how Bible translators have a bit of work to do when they're just trying to translate, oh, can we put that in there, over and over and over and over and over.

[SPEAKER_00]: Out of his bells will flow rivers of living water.

[SPEAKER_00]: That sounds like a problem, not a good thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's something you go get checked, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: But so here is what Jesus is doing.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's saying out of the inner person, the deepest parts of you is going to flow visibly water.

[SPEAKER_00]: So this is not just something you receive, but something that flows out.

[SPEAKER_00]: So this is what's being offered here.

[SPEAKER_00]: This idea of symbolism of the water from the rock and from walking around and from chanting, it becomes a ritual that over time becomes empty.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you've done this, I've done this.

[SPEAKER_00]: We engage in these rituals that were once upon a time symbolic and important, and over time they lose their meaning and they become a museum of somewhere God used to be.

[SPEAKER_00]: And remember when, and we're a hollow cathedral with no life left.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Jesus appears and says, you're looking for me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, John's little footnote here, which I love, and he does this a lot in his gospel.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, he said this about the spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: He takes that second voice again, steps out of the story and acts like an errata.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said this about the spirit, those who believe in him were to receive, for as yet, the spirit had not been given because Jesus was not yet glorified.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, that's John's way of saying, Jesus hadn't died in risen again yet.

[SPEAKER_00]: and the spirit hadn't been given.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's what he means when he says glorified there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Only when sinners dealt with, when the true temple is open, the spirit then is poured out fully.

[SPEAKER_00]: the death and resurrection of Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you can read the room and you can still miss the river.

[SPEAKER_00]: God has always been a God of abundance who wants to socasts, not just drip feed us.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so your ache of dryness, you feel like this, and it's a good word, and oftentimes we can go through these seasons in our own spiritual life where we feel dry, I feel dry.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like the words, not speaking to me, I feel like man, it's just the words that I'm singing, don't really, there's a disconnect somewhere.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now that's not a failure, my friends.

[SPEAKER_00]: That dryness that you feel is not failure.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're not messing it up somehow, you're not doing it wrong, it's none of that.

[SPEAKER_00]: What it is is an invitation.

[SPEAKER_00]: a fresh invitation to come to God in a brand new way.

[SPEAKER_00]: And say, Lord, I've been doing all this stuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've been following, I've been going through these motions, but now Jesus, I want to come back and I just want you.

[SPEAKER_00]: and what happens at that point is rivers of living water start to flow and they don't just flow to you, but they start to flow through us as well.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, the first thing we can do, this is where it kind of the rubber hits the road with this stuff is that it happens in community.

[SPEAKER_00]: We need to find community.

[SPEAKER_00]: Practical community, local community.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're all a little bit tired, we're a little bit afraid, and a little bit frazzled.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you're carrying a weight that no one sees, you have battles to fight every single day that no one else knows about.

[SPEAKER_00]: There are things that you're going through in a dialogue, battles that you have, jobs that you have to complete, things that are on your mind,

[SPEAKER_00]: things that are pressing you and pressuring you that no one else sees.

[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes when we hear this word overflow, you think, mate, I can't even, you know, I just need a bit of water just to get through the day, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I'm not, I can't even think about flowing out to others or having enough to be able to give away.

[SPEAKER_00]: It might feel a bit out of reach.

[SPEAKER_00]: But this is not just about having more times.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is about having a source.

[SPEAKER_00]: There is a version of life where things naturally flow out of you because of the life that God's put inside of you.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's offers to meet you in the middle of all of that stuff that you're going through.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we sometimes say it and I catch myself sometimes saying we come to a gathering like this and we say leave your problems at the door.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, leave, forget about your worries.

[SPEAKER_00]: Forget leave the stuff that's bothering you.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, forget about that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't reckon that's theologically correct.

[SPEAKER_00]: I reckon we bring all of it and allow God to feel us and meet us in the midst of it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right?

[SPEAKER_00]: The Christian life isn't about getting rid of all the, oh, you know, I have to just think holy thoughts or I have to think spiritual things.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bring everything that's in you and allow Jesus to address it and meet you there.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you're tired, bring that and allow him to fill you there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right?

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not pretending you're not tired.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bring it to him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I know right now very practically, cost of living is real, guys.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just talk about, you know, we can talk about petrol prices for a second stuff that's going on in the world.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's hard.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know that some of you over time are going to have to make decisions about do I drive to church on Sunday because I don't know if I can afford it, I can afford the trip.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's expensive.

[SPEAKER_00]: Talk to us.

[SPEAKER_00]: If that is a challenge for you, let us know because there might be carpooling options.

[SPEAKER_00]: There might be options of finding community in your area somewhere where you can go.

[SPEAKER_00]: Joining a small group where you don't have to travel so far will really really help you stay in community.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm serious.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is not, like this is not a, we're being kind of honest with the

[SPEAKER_00]: We're all challenged with different things in our space and communities not an optional extra.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be important for you to overflow and thrive in the season.

[SPEAKER_00]: You need it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Otherwise, it becomes a drip feed kind of idea.

[SPEAKER_00]: And over time, who knows, if you live in Frankston now and you want to be part of a discovery church, you can and you can be there close.

[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe over time, we replant, we revitalize,

[SPEAKER_00]: more churches so that you know so that there are people who come to discover a church here in Mount Evel and who are driving from like Greensboro.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's too far.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right?

[SPEAKER_00]: Either, you know, we can we can do some things over time that help people find community.

[SPEAKER_00]: Find community.

[SPEAKER_00]: Second

[SPEAKER_00]: You might be here and you're not even sure what you believe.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you know this.

[SPEAKER_00]: You might be here because I'm not a Christian or I went to church as a kid and I haven't been in 10 years or maybe a friend invited you just to be here or to come and check this out.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you don't know what you believe, but you do know that there's something off.

[SPEAKER_00]: in the world.

[SPEAKER_00]: Something's not quite right.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's something kind of missing or something broken or something that's not connecting.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I want to encourage you to listen to that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Why is that?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because Jesus invitation, here is all you thirsty.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not come to me and if you've figured everything out, then come.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just say you thirsty.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are you aware that there's something just not sitting?

[SPEAKER_00]: And Jesus says, come to me, perhaps for you today, that's the big step, is just having that moment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Come to Jesus and drink.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't have to figure it all out or figure it out.

[SPEAKER_00]: Know everything, have all the ducks and all of it in a row.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't ignore it, don't numb it, don't explain it away.

[SPEAKER_00]: Your thirst is not weakness.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is invitation.

[SPEAKER_00]: to put yourself into places where you can drink deeply in the word and worship and community.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then, thirdly, we can become people where life flows.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is the term, because you might know the songs, you might know the rhythms, you might have walked with God for years.

[SPEAKER_00]: And here's the danger.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can learn how to go through the motions without drinking deeply any more.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you know the dance, you know the moves.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can pass the sniff test from anyone who goes on as that legit.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they seem like they're in the space, but you've stopped drinking deeply.

[SPEAKER_00]: do the things you did at first, become a person where life flows.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not just receiving, it's flowing.

[SPEAKER_00]: God doesn't feel perfect vessels, my friends.

[SPEAKER_00]: He feels available once, open once.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the promises is as you come to Him what He does in you begins to flow out of you into your home, into your relationships, into your workplace, the places that you go tomorrow and choose to Wednesday.

[SPEAKER_00]: You become a carrier of life into those spaces.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because overflow is for us, but it's also through us.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's through us.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because Jesus doesn't say, you'll be a container of water.

[SPEAKER_00]: Whoever comes to me, whoever's thirsty, let him come and drink, and I'll make them a container of water.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a river, and rivers flow.

[SPEAKER_00]: Have inlets and outlets.

[SPEAKER_00]: They flow in and out.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're not a reservoir to store more of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: bigger barns for holy blessings in my life and I can just get really, really large of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: What's flowing out and where the things get blocked?

[SPEAKER_00]: I think sometimes things get blocked.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's blockages in our outflow because there's subtle small things that happen over time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Some of us don't need more input.

[SPEAKER_00]: You actually need more outlets.

[SPEAKER_00]: What God's doing in you was never meant to end with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: But it can be a closing of the heart of forgiveness that's withheld a step of obedience that was delayed, a prompting that was ignored, a generosity that was resisted, a word that was left unsaid.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a good question, I have this question with one of my friends.

[SPEAKER_00]: We ask each other, what was the last thing the Lord asked you to do?

[SPEAKER_00]: I did you do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's a good one.

[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes I say, I had this person came to my mind.

[SPEAKER_00]: My friend will say to me, what would you do?

[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I don't know, they just came to my mind.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he was like, well, do you reckon that's an accident?

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, well, get out your phone right now with me here and text them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's really helpful having someone to just, you know, clear the blockages in my own life and finally, fifthly, return to the presence, not just the pattern.

[SPEAKER_00]: The danger of any long walk with God is not rebellion, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: You may be a seasoned veteran Christian walking this journey, and your main danger isn't rebellion.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're not just going to wake up one day and go, oh, that's it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to figure out the biggest sins I can do, pile them all up and just do them all on one day.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's probably not your danger, all right?

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, every now and then, unless there's something kind of majorly repressive going on, most of the time, it's drift.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not big rebellion, it's drift, where you're just slowly drifting off course.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so, let today be a day where your navigational instruments get calibrated.

[SPEAKER_00]: We start to realign with what's going on,

[SPEAKER_00]: As we've read and lose the presence, the words are there, but the weight is gone.

[SPEAKER_00]: The habit is there, but the hunger has faded.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so the invitation is not to try harder, do more.

[SPEAKER_00]: work harder at this, get more intentional.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can still double down your efforts and still be derived.

[SPEAKER_00]: The invitation is to return.

[SPEAKER_00]: Come and empty.

[SPEAKER_00]: Return not to a method but to a person and say Jesus, I'm here because I want you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want your presence, I want your life, I want

[SPEAKER_00]: reopened that space to sit with him again, not just to achieve something but to be with someone.

[SPEAKER_00]: Team, when you come and join me, it's wild because Jesus says here if anyone firsts, yeah, if anyone firsts and you think, well, where does the power come from for this?

[SPEAKER_00]: Where does he have the power to give this life?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so messed up, I've got so many things going on.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've got all these warring desires in my heart, but deep down I am hungry for God, and yet in the midst of it, in the midst of all of that, Jesus has if anyone thirsts, let them come.

[SPEAKER_00]: And on the cross, Jesus himself was thirsty.

[SPEAKER_00]: They offered him the drink, which was the sour wine on the stick, which really bookends the fruit that was eaten in the garden.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Jesus said, it's finished.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus is glorified, died, risen to new life, and sending His Spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that our thirst can help you quenched.

[SPEAKER_00]: And let's stand together, church.

[SPEAKER_00]: OK, so here's what I'd like to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: with the time that we have left is to return to the person.

[SPEAKER_00]: Return to Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: We'll do that in a couple of different ways.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'd love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And this is for everyone.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you're in this room, if you're online with us, if you're in the parents room, I'd love you guys to engage with this as well as as much as you possibly can.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now for some of us that will include the team I'm going to just think I'm going to worship.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to lead us in a song in just a minute.

[SPEAKER_00]: But as they do that, if you would like someone to pray with you, I want to be able to pray with people to receive a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the Bible says, if you lay hands on lay hands on one another, be filled with the Holy Spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's something that happens to us tangibly.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a prayer that can be prayed as an experience of coming to the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: and receiving an impartation or a feeling of the Holy Spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so, I'd love you to come forward and pray with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Where be a long prayer, just be sure prayer to pray with you to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, of course, when we do these kinds of times, it can be easy if you're like, oh, that's not me, so I'm just going to sit here and watch God do all the action at the front.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's happening everywhere, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: There is no holiest space than other spaces, but there is a space that's for prayer, for someone to pray with you, and there's space for you to be able to pray on your own, and both is good, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: So, if you'd like to receive some prayer this morning to be filled with fresh weather while it's cleared out of pastas, elders, team will be available and we'll just put their head on their shirt on your shoulder and pray that you won't just come out now and we'll do that first.

[SPEAKER_00]: Come forward and we'll pray with you this morning, and all the way to the front just so that

[SPEAKER_00]: Awesome, yep, now to eat, pasta is going to come, right with these guys, we're going to just lay in the photo, we're going to break together.

[SPEAKER_00]: And for all of us, we're going to do exactly the same thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna stand for the Lord if you'd like to put your hands out in front of you so you're receiving something to do that I'm gonna pray and say, well, it's very cold Holy Spirit Jesus, you said, if anyone is thirsty, then they've come to be in jail

[SPEAKER_00]: So Lord, we pray, we've come to you now, every single person in this room, everyone online, everyone in the parents room, everyone enjoying us.

[SPEAKER_00]: This gets podcasted, Lord, we want to come before you and say the first thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Fill the pattern with your presence.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's eyes to sing and ears to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Holy Spirit, fill us a fresh.

[SPEAKER_00]: and fill us not just for our experience, but fill us so that we can become rooms of life tomorrow.

[SPEAKER_00]: At the day after, in the hardest, at most desert-like spaces.

[SPEAKER_00]: For some, it's in our family, for some, it's at our workplace.

[SPEAKER_00]: For some, it's with our friendships, for some, it's at our school, for our university, for our college, or in the school pick-up law,

[SPEAKER_00]: Boy, we're asking, thank you for coming.

[SPEAKER_00]: Feel us refreshed with this.
