  1. Foreign.

  2. But I have a prophetic word for you today.

  3. How many of you know whenever you want to hear the voice of the

  4. Lord, all you got to do is open your Bible.

  5. All right?

  6. And I'm going to speak the word of the Lord.

  7. And I am.

  8. I am just going to jump in, and we're not going to.

  9. We're not going to waste any time.

  10. Are y' all ready for this?

  11. Okay, so we are in the month of May, a divine timeline.

  12. And I believe that the Lord is speaking, is breathing on his people.

  13. But I gotta talk to you about a spiritual location, and it's a

  14. location called Ziklag.

  15. And sometimes you'll end up in a place in your life where you expect

  16. blessing, but you see burning.

  17. You expect things to grow, but they end up in ashes.

  18. And many of you are in a prophetic ziglag.

  19. And what does this mean?

  20. It's a place where you have these high hopes and these great

  21. expectations and these dreams of what could happen.

  22. And yet, when you look around, what you see with your physical eyes

  23. contradicts what is happening in the physical realm.

  24. Tell your neighbor you're in ziglag.

  25. Put it in the comments right now.

  26. You probably don't even know how to spell it.

  27. All right, But I want to speak to this, and I've got to set the

  28. scene for you, because we get married, and we just think marriage

  29. is gonna be so sweet.

  30. By the way, I wanna congratulate all of our Men of Valor

  31. who are finally asking women out on dates at our church.

  32. I can't tell all the ladies and the children what happened at

  33. Men of Valor, but I commissioned our men.

  34. I said, you need to wear cologne.

  35. You need to take a shower, you need to get a new wardrobe.

  36. You need to get a timepiece.

  37. You need to go to the barber and let them do whatever they need

  38. to do to you.

  39. And then I said, you need to start asking the women of our church

  40. out on dates and being chivalrous and opening doors and

  41. paying for dinner.

  42. And it has been brought to my attention across multiple of our

  43. campuses that the lovely ladies are thrilled that they are

  44. eating for free right now on dates by Men of Valor.

  45. I kid you not.

  46. I'm not satisfied, but I heard this.

  47. It could just be gossip, but I heard somebody even post it on Instagram.

  48. It's a V1 love story.

  49. And I heard somebody else even said, are you ready for our love

  50. to go v1.

  51. Listen, if you know, you know.

  52. And so I just wanted to say.

  53. The men have been released now.

  54. Men don't you dare mess this up.

  55. I told our pastors, I said, number one, we gotta vet these relationships

  56. and we gotta see if we approve of what's going on.

  57. And I said, number two, expect a wave of premarital counseling in

  58. the next year.

  59. But we have these expectations for relationship, for marriages.

  60. We have expectations for money, for finances.

  61. We have expectation for our own mental health.

  62. We have expectation for our years and how we're gonna plan the

  63. year.

  64. And oftentimes we end up in a ziglag.

  65. I want to frame this for you, so open those bibles up to 1 Samuel,

    1 Samuel 30 chapter mention

  66. chapter 30.

  67. Open up to 1st Samuel, chapter 30.

  68. Have you ever had a Ziglag moment?

  69. You expected rest, but instead you walked into ruin.

  70. You thought that you were coming into peace, but instead you

  71. found smoke, ashes and loss.

  72. And some of you know what it means to come home to.

  73. To a burned down season.

  74. To find out that your spouse cheated on you.

  75. To find out that your kid just got a diagnosis.

  76. To find out that your marriage feels like it's falling apart.

  77. Your bank account looks like there's been a fire that went through

  78. it.

  79. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

  80. Don't yell too loud over there.

  81. Come on.

  82. And so we have these zig lag experiences.

  83. And you could feel like that the years of your life are wasted

  84. in sin, wasted in confusion, or even in a sense of delay.

  85. But the good news is that Ziglag is not the end of David's

  86. story.

  87. It was in the beginning of his story.

  88. And ziglag is not the end of your story.

  89. It's the place where God speaks a word that is getting ready

  90. to echo through history and echo through through your lineage

  91. and echo through your ancestry.

  92. Because God can take a burned down ziglag and cause it to turn

  93. around into something else.

  94. And so we gotta get into the scriptures.

  95. Go to 1 Samuel, chapter 30.

    1 Samuel 30 chapter mention

  96. And then let's look at verses 1 through 8.

  97. It says now, when David and his men came to Ziglag on the third

  98. day, the Amalekites had made a raid against Negeg, Negeb and against

  99. Ziglag.

  100. And they had overcome Ziglag and burned it with fire.

  101. And taken captive with the women and all who were in it, both

  102. small and great, they killed no one.

  103. But they carried them off and they went their way.

  104. Come on.

  105. I'm here to tell you that your dream didn't get killed.

  106. It was carried away by the enemy.

  107. Your marriage isn't done yet.

  108. It didn't get killed.

  109. It got carried away.

  110. Your children may look like they turned to sin instead of salvation,

  111. but they were not killed.

  112. They were carried away.

  113. As a matter of fact, there's good news right now.

  114. It might feel like loss, but it was just stolen, not killed.

  115. I'm here to tell somebody that Ziglag is not the end of the story.

  116. It is just a turning point into what's next.

  117. If you'll get a revelation that it.

  118. Wasn't killed, it was carried away.

  119. It wasn't killed.

  120. It was carried away.

  121. Your ministry wasn't killed.

  122. It was carried away.

  123. Your health wasn't killed.

  124. It was carried away.

  125. Your kids weren't killed.

  126. They were carried away.

  127. And David and his men came to the city and they found it burned

  128. with fire and their wives and their sons and daughters taken captive.

  129. Then David and the people who were with them raised their voices

  130. and wept until they had no more strength to weep.

  131. David.

  132. David's two.

  133. He had wives had been taken captive.

  134. Now, this is Old Testament.

  135. Don't get any ideas now.

  136. And Abigail.

  137. And the widow of Nabal and Carmel.

  138. And then David was greatly distressed.

  139. Listen.

  140. For the people spoke of stoning David.

  141. Because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his own

  142. sons and daughters.

  143. But David strengthened himself in the Lord, his God.

  144. And David said to Abdhar, God, the.

  145. Priest, the son of Amalek, bring me the ephod.

  146. So Abiathar brought the ephod to David.

  147. And David inquired of the Lord, shall I pursue after this ban?

  148. Shall I overtake them?

  149. And he answered him, pursue, for you shall surely overtake and

  150. shall surely rescue.

  151. And then it says, and David recovered.

  152. All about to preach this message.

  153. I'm about to preach this message.

  154. We gotta rewind a little bit.

  155. So David is anointed to be king, but he's not the king yet,

  156. so he's in the in between.

  157. How many of you are in the in between right now?

  158. You've been given the prophetic dream.

  159. It hasn't been fulfilled.

  160. You were the prophet came to the church and told you what you

  161. were gonna be.

  162. But you have not become.

  163. We.

  164. We are in these moments.

  165. David now goes to Ziglag.

  166. And while he's in Ziglag, he recognizes that the wa.

  167. His.

  168. His wife has been taken away.

  169. His children have been taken captive.

  170. I dare you to try to take Bella.

  171. I dare you to come after Everly.

  172. Any guy, any dad.

  173. Know what I'm talking about?

  174. I will come, and I will find you.

  175. And I.

  176. You know what I mean?

  177. So David shows up, and he's assessing many of you are in a season

  178. of assessment right now.

  179. You're assessing your bank account, and you can't figure out

  180. why you're always broke.

  181. You're assessing your children and your relationships with them

  182. and why that they are.

  183. Some of them are unrighteous and ungodly.

  184. You're assessing your purpose in life, and you've got a career,

  185. but you don't have a calling.

  186. And you're doing this assessment.

  187. And David is looking around and he was like, okay, I want to

  188. do something, but I've got to go and inquire of God.

  189. How many of you know that you cannot do it in your own strength

  190. anymore?

  191. You've cried out to God and you've said, God, I can't believe

  192. my life is like this.

  193. The tears have hit your pillow.

  194. But there's a difference between crying out to God but then

  195. asking God what to do for direction.

  196. And we need to shift from crying to activation.

  197. And some of us go from crisis.

  198. To crisis, from crying to crying.

  199. But the message that we get from.

  200. David is put on the ephod and ask God, what shall I do?

  201. Give me prophetic direction.

  202. Give me the next step, God.

  203. And we move from crying and crisis till we move to a place of

  204. intercession.

  205. Put on the ephod.

  206. What is the ephod?

  207. It was the.

  208. It's literally like the high priest, the Levites would put on

  209. this.

  210. This vest with the precious stones that had a very spiritual

  211. significance.

  212. And it was almost as if David was saying, I need to become like

  213. the Levites who are an intermediary between God and man.

  214. And I need to begin to go solicit God.

  215. And I'm not going to him to beg.

  216. I'm not going to him to cry.

  217. I'm going to him to get direction for what I must do.

  218. Because the distance between what God promised and where you are

  219. is called obedience.

  220. Y' all don't want to hear this.

  221. Stop calling it delay and start calling it what it really is.

  222. Disobedience.

  223. The fire in your bank account is because you kept 100%, so 100%

  224. was cursed.

  225. If you had gave 10%, then 100%.

  226. Would have been blessed.

  227. Don't call it delay in your finances.

  228. Call it disobedience.

  229. So what happens is we delay.

  230. Don't call it delay in relationships.

  231. Call it disobedience.

  232. How could you act in a single.

  233. Season full of lust and then expect.

  234. God to bless that with marriage?

  235. Stop.

  236. Oh, come on.

  237. I'm gonna preach mean today till you get free.

  238. Stop calling it delay and Start calling it what it is.

  239. It's disobedience.

  240. The distance between what God promised and where you are.

  241. You.

  242. The way you close that distance is by walking in one step

  243. of obedience at a time.

  244. Every time I get paid, I give.

  245. Every single time I go on a date, I stay pure.

  246. Every single time.

  247. Oh, come on, somebody, God, give me an opportunity to preach.

  248. God.

  249. Saying, when you don't even pray, how you gonna preach God?

  250. I wanna write a book.

  251. He's like, you write more text messages than you write prose.

  252. How can you publish a book when all you publish was gossip?

  253. The distance between the promise and where you are is obedience.

  254. Somebody shout this time I'll obey.

  255. Come on.

  256. This is not a pretty message, but.

  257. It's the message we need.

  258. Can I get an amen?

  259. So David's in ziglag and he's not complaining to God.

  260. He's interceding.

  261. Stop complaining about your kids to your friend and start interceding

  262. for your kids.

  263. We need some of.

  264. Some of y' all need to get.

  265. Those old school Pentecostal grandmother vibes in your house.

  266. You know what I'm talking about?

  267. Some of you, you gotta learn how to begin to pray like those who

  268. went before you.

  269. Anybody come from a heritage of prayer warriors in your family,

  270. guess what?

  271. If they've died, grab the mantle and become a prayer warrior.

  272. You know what I'm saying?

  273. So David begins to put on the ephod.

  274. Somebody needs to get a revelation.

  275. It's time to put on the ephod.

  276. If you're prayerless, you're powerless.

  277. Put on the ephod.

  278. Come on.

  279. If you don't go to God, if you go to man, you're gonna get man's

  280. results.

  281. But if you go to God, you get God's results.

  282. So David begins to inquire before the Lord.

  283. And this is what he says.

  284. Lord, am I to pursue them?

  285. Am I to try to get back everything that was stolen?

  286. Am I to try to go and take and kill everything that should have

  287. been killed?

  288. And this is what God says to him.

  289. I just read it to you in 1st Samuel, chapter 30.

  290. God.

  291. Go get em, son.

  292. Lord, I'm tired of praying.

  293. Lord, I'm tired of giving.

  294. And it never comes back.

  295. Lord, I'm tired of helping them, but they never help me.

  296. See, sometimes you'll let your own flesh and your own human frailty

  297. and you'll let your own tiredness disqualify you from the

  298. very command God's giving.

  299. But here's the thing.

  300. This is what David learned against Goliath.

  301. And you see it over and over again.

  302. You don't kill an expert warrior with just a sling and a stone.

  303. He understood something.

  304. They were focusing on Goliath's strength.

  305. He was focusing on God's strength.

  306. See, he was not relying on his strength, and he was not re.

  307. He was not calculating the strength of his opposition.

  308. He was focusing on the strength of God.

  309. See, God wants you to stop saying I'm tired, and start saying,

  310. I'm willing.

  311. I'm able through you, God, because the power of life and death

  312. is in your tongue.

  313. When you say you're tired, you become more tired.

  314. But when you say, the joy of the Lord is my strength, and greater.

  315. He that is in me than he.

  316. That is in the world.

  317. And it says, many are the afflictions of the righteous, but

  318. God delivers them from them all.

  319. Somebody say all.

  320. So David said, God, if I go to pursue those who have stolen from

  321. Ziglag, I must do it with your permission.

  322. Because if I have your permission, I have your power.

  323. Oh, come on.

  324. Somebody ask the sons of Sceva what.

  325. Happens when you try to do something without God's permission

  326. and try to access his power?

  327. See, they tried to cast demons out without the permission of God,

  328. and they didn't have the power of God and.

  329. Got their butt whooped.

  330. And some of us are like the sons of Sceva.

  331. We try to start ministries without God's permission, so those

  332. ministries lack his power.

  333. We try to start marriages without God's permission, so those

  334. marriages lack the power.

  335. We.

  336. Oh, come on, somebody.

  337. I'm just trying to.

  338. So what happens is we must go back to the beginning.

  339. We must say, God, where did I go wrong?

  340. We've got to put on that ephod.

  341. We got to begin to ask permission.

  342. From God, because where there's permission, there is.

  343. Where there's permission, there is.

  344. I didn't go to New York.

  345. I was given permission to take it.

  346. That's why there's power that flows through it.

  347. You know how many ministries died on Long Island?

  348. And I'm standing in a soccer stadium that community couldn't keep

  349. alive.

  350. But the power of God touched it and said, you were building church

  351. and didn't even know it.

  352. When you get permission, there's power.

  353. This is the sacred path.

  354. And David understood that.

  355. David went to the brook and he chose five smooth stones.

  356. And God said, you're only gonna need one.

  357. Because when you've got my permission.

  358. Are y' all learning something?

  359. Are y' all learning something?

  360. When you got my permission, you've got my power.

  361. And you picked up five stones.

  362. But, son, you'll only need one.

  363. David knew that it wasn't his fight if God gave him permission.

  364. It was God's fight.

  365. That's why the Devil messed up when he messed with us.

  366. Because what he didn't calculate is when we accepted Jesus,

  367. he stopped fighting us.

  368. And started fighting Jesus on the inside of us.

  369. But Jesus whooped his butt 2,000 years ago.

  370. And I'm here to enforce the whooping.

  371. Come on, somebody.

  372. And I'm just going to remind the Devil you're a defeated foe.

  373. I have been given permission to access this power ephod.

  374. Intercession.

  375. Permission.

  376. Power.

  377. Are y' all being.

  378. Are my digital disciples being discipled?

  379. Are y' all being discipled?

  380. Are you with me?

  381. So then, let's continue.

  382. Ziglag, he says.

  383. Go fight.

  384. You've got it.

  385. But we got another problem.

  386. The bitter people of Ziglag who started to blame David because

  387. they had lost.

  388. Isn't it just like in real life how the people you help the

  389. most are the ones that will turn on you in another season?

  390. Isn't it funny?

  391. I posted this list last week.

  392. It's like I looked in your cup to see if you needed more.

  393. You looked into my cup to see if I had more than you.

  394. We are not the same.

  395. When I looked into your cup, it was to see if you needed more.

  396. But when you looked in my cup, it was to see if I had more than

  397. you.

  398. We are not the same.

  399. David was a servant.

  400. David was fighting on their behalf.

  401. But in their own bitterness, they turned on David.

  402. If you want to be a leader, get used to the people that you.

  403. Save trying to stone you.

  404. This is what happened.

  405. They took rocks.

  406. And the Bible gives account that they.

  407. Had made plans to literally throw those stones and kill David.

  408. So David's got to dodge the javelin.

  409. Of a giant, then he's got to.

  410. Dodge the javelin of the king, and now he's got to dodge the stones.

  411. Of the very people that he had won battles for.

  412. If you want to be a leader, get used to people throwing things

  413. at you at every direction.

  414. And it will sometimes be the very people you help the most are

  415. going to flip the script in their own bitterness and start to

  416. blame you for their loss.

  417. Victim mindset.

  418. Beware of people with victim mindsets.

  419. Beware of the people who blame everybody else but themselves.

  420. See, this is Ziglag.

  421. Ziglag is a place where the dreams and the hopes and the aspirations

  422. have burned down.

  423. And then right in when you're in your lowest moment, and you think

  424. you're going to get encouragement, you get a rock thrown

  425. at you by the person that you helped in another battle.

  426. How many of you know what I'm talking about?

  427. Come on.

  428. As soon as they get successful, they burn down their

  429. day ones.

  430. As soon as they get into another season.

  431. I heard somebody once say that the first day that a blind man receives

  432. sight, he throws away the stick that guided him the whole time.

  433. This is what it's like.

  434. You'll serve people with your life.

  435. You'll help them through every season of their life, like that blind

  436. person's stick.

  437. And then the day they receive sight, they discard the stick.

  438. This is what they did to David.

  439. As long as they benefited from David, they were for David.

  440. But then when they experienced loss, that bitterness turned against

  441. David.

  442. Let me just tell you, as long as you're paying for people's dinners

  443. and their Uber eats, and as long as you're helping them with

  444. their rent, and as long.

  445. Oh, come on, somebody.

  446. You know, the dog, the person that feeds the most scraps from the

  447. table to the dog is the dog's favorite.

  448. And there's some people that don't have a nature any.

  449. Any higher than a dog.

  450. And as long as you're giving, giving, giving, they're your favorite,

  451. right?

  452. You're their favorite.

  453. But then you flip the script and say, I actually need some help,

  454. too.

  455. And their loyalty goes with them.

  456. Come on.

  457. Does somebody know what I'm talking about?

  458. This is what zig lag is like.

  459. It's like, wait a second.

  460. I thought that there was.

  461. This was covenant.

  462. I thought that you were going to be here with me.

  463. That's why you better beware who you.

  464. Cry to, because they'll publish your tears in a private conversation.

  465. You better be careful who you tell your secrets to, because if

  466. you're telling your secrets in Ziglag, those secrets will.

  467. End up in other circles where there's.

  468. Monitoring spirits that conspire against you.

  469. And they'll begin to open up a.

  470. Portal of hell as you become their favorite subscription.

  471. Y' all ain't hearing me.

  472. I just.

  473. Let me just go preach this down the street.

  474. They might receive it better than my own church.

  475. I'm talking about these fake people in Ziglag.

  476. Don't have a bad day, David, in front of them.

  477. They're allowed to have a bad day.

  478. You're not allowed to have a bad day on them.

  479. This is what David was going through.

  480. Now watch.

  481. I've already read 1st Samuel 30.

  482. I read you 20 verses.

  483. So I'm gonna exegete them a little while.

  484. Is that all right?

  485. So what does David do?

  486. Step one, put on the ephod, and then now I need permission for

  487. power.

  488. And you're gonna give me direction for what to do next.

  489. Number two, what does he do?

  490. He encouraged himself in the Lord.

  491. Some of you, your greatest weakness is no longer porn addiction.

  492. It's no longer alcohol.

  493. Oh, come on.

  494. It's no longer gossip.

  495. Your greatest addiction is the need to feel understood.

  496. It's the need to feel understood and seen.

  497. And more sin can flow from the desire to be understood and seen

  498. than many of the addictions I just mentioned.

  499. This is what the Lord's dealing with.

  500. You're waiting for them to encourage you.

  501. But David said, I'm gonna encourage myself in the Lord.

  502. I'm gonna put that worship song on, and I'm gonna begin to sing

  503. and begin to worship and fortify my spirit and set an atmosphere

  504. around me.

  505. And I'm gonna begin to open up the windows of heaven.

  506. See, here's the thing.

  507. Let me just tell you.

  508. Ain't it funny?

  509. Because when you used to go to the club, you would put on a soundtrack

  510. and you know the songs.

  511. Come on.

  512. I ain't gonna sing them.

  513. I'm not gonna.

  514. I dare not pollute this pulpit with the songs we all used to play

  515. on a Friday night before we went out.

  516. Come on.

  517. Some of you are thinking of right now, and you're.

  518. I see you listen.

  519. What you feed grows and what you starve dies.

  520. So demons were collaboratively setting an atmosphere where those

  521. songs would feed your flesh because then it would empower your

  522. flesh to obey the flesh.

  523. Isn't it funny how you would end.

  524. Up listening to songs that would talk about things that you

  525. do and it.

  526. Would actually be feeding your flesh.

  527. And you would go out and obey.

  528. And fulfill the very narratives in those songs.

  529. This is why we must fill our atmospheres with worship.

  530. Because if you feed your spirit, you starve the flesh.

  531. And then when you leave your place of abode, you will obey this.

  532. Oh, come on.

  533. I'm talking to somebody.

  534. Just like those filthy songs became filthy desires that turn into

  535. filthy sins, righteous songs turn into righteous desires that

  536. turn into righteous obedience.

  537. How many of you are going to go on a journey with me of encouraging

  538. yourself instead of feeling the need.

  539. To be understood by other people?

  540. God, you see me, God, you know me.

  541. As a matter of fact, you're the only one who can even understand

  542. me.

  543. You were tempted in every way, but never yielded to the temptation.

  544. You Suffered in every way.

  545. They didn't suffer like you suffered.

  546. So you know me, and you're suffering.

  547. Some of you.

  548. Instead of trying to get them to.

  549. Understand you, you need to learn how to understand Christ.

  550. Come on.

  551. I'm helping you.

  552. Are y' all with me?

  553. I don't need to be understood.

  554. My aspiration is to understand the Father.

  555. See David in the midst of them throwing stones, says, I'm gonna

  556. encourage myself.

  557. Then what does David do?

  558. Lastly, I wanna show you this.

  559. It's so good.

  560. All of a sudden, David begins to go out and he begins to fight.

  561. But here's the thing.

  562. He had to get honest about what he lost.

  563. Somebody say, get real.

  564. It's time to be honest with what we lost.

  565. David's men wept until they had no strength to leave because

  566. they were getting honest with what they lost.

  567. How many of you know that if you ignore a feeling and suppress

  568. it, it increases like a crock pot, and then eventually that lid

  569. blows off and it shows up in another area of your life.

  570. Feelings do not dissipate.

  571. Feelings do not disappear.

  572. I'm talking to the men right now.

  573. I know, I know, I know, I know.

  574. Listen to me, men.

  575. Just because your daddy never taught you what to do with your feelings

  576. doesn't mean it can't start with you.

  577. The story isn't, and the women wept.

  578. First Samuel, chapter 30 is.

    1 Samuel 30 chapter mention

  579. And the mighty men who killed other people and went out to battle,

  580. they wept until they had no more strength.

  581. The men.

  582. So there's something to be said about being in this place called.

  583. This prophetic place called Ziglag, where you get the wisdom

  584. of, my feelings don't dissipate and my feelings don't disappear.

  585. They actually relocate.

  586. They don't dissipate.

  587. They relocate.

  588. When you put your hand through that wall, you know what it felt

  589. like?

  590. Anger.

  591. But anger was not the origin.

  592. Your feelings started as rejection, as loss, as injustice.

  593. And then it didn't dissipate.

  594. It relocated from your heart to your hand and through the wall.

  595. And then when you punched the hole through the wall, the feeling

  596. didn't go away.

  597. You actually increased it.

  598. And you strengthened the synapses in your mind that made something

  599. inexcusable, excusable.

  600. When you were having rampant sex with women and you were going

  601. out there, the feeling was sexual, but that was the origin.

  602. It didn't start that way.

  603. The origin of it was something else.

  604. And I'm talking to the men right now specifically.

  605. And what happens is those feelings don't dissipate.

  606. They relocate.

  607. Because there's an emptiness in you, there's a shame in you, there's

  608. an unworthiness in you.

  609. And because you didn't deal with that feeling, that feeling is

  610. now dealing with your destiny.

  611. This is why we gotta get to the root.

  612. This is why Jesus was friends with sinners.

  613. He didn't sin with sinners, but he was friends with sinners.

  614. Because the root was not prostitution.

  615. It was just the fruit.

  616. The root wasn't alcoholism.

  617. It was just the fruit.

  618. How many of you know Jesus goes to the root?

  619. Can I take you to the root of Ziglag?

  620. How many biblical scholars do we have at this church?

  621. If you know the narrative, there was another king before David

  622. was to be anointed king.

  623. His name was Saul.

  624. And God explicitly gave a command to Saul, go into Ziglag,

  625. kill everyone in Ziglag, annihilate it.

  626. What Saul did was he dealt with.

  627. Partiality, and he only eliminated some of it.

  628. So what?

  629. What Saul did not finish grew and was inherited by David.

  630. Some of you had Saul dads, Saul mothers that the Lord said deal

  631. with poverty and lack.

  632. And because they never dealt with financial stewardship, it was

  633. handed to you.

  634. Some of you had mothers and fathers.

  635. Like Saul that the Lord said, arrest, eradicate all of that adultery.

  636. But divorce multiplied in your family, like Ziglag, the inhabitants

  637. of that land, they increase over time.

  638. And you show up like David to deal with Saul's problem.

  639. But here's the difference between David and all the people

  640. around him.

  641. Instead of blaming Saul, he encouraged himself in the Lord and

  642. said, I must be the first time generational blood curse breaker.

  643. And you know what?

  644. I. I can't help that this thing came to me, but I can help

  645. what I do about it.

  646. I can't help that it happened, but I can help how I react.

  647. And you can keep blaming society, you can keep blaming America,

  648. you can keep blaming politics, you can keep blaming your neighbor,

  649. you can keep blaming your school, you can keep blaming your

  650. region.

  651. Or you can encourage yourself in the Lord and hear the word, word

  652. of the Lord saying, go, son, and finish what Saul should have

  653. finished.

  654. I will empower you to do it.

  655. How many of you are going to break those excuses with me?

  656. Shout unto God, give him a 30 second praise break.

  657. If you're done being a victim, if you're done with that victim mindset,

  658. shout this with me.

  659. No more victims.

  660. Well, you know, it's expensive on Long Island.

  661. Well, you know, there's no good men out there.

  662. Well, you know, it never works out for me.

  663. You know what I call that kind of person.

  664. My answer is going to shock you.

  665. A prophet.

  666. A prophet.

  667. Because you will have what you say you prophesied.

  668. You literally, Oh, I can't afford anything.

  669. I can't afford anything.

  670. You just prophesied over yourself.

  671. And I'm just going to wait and watch it come to pass.

  672. You're victim.

  673. As if the economy is happening to you.

  674. No, I'm the seed of Abraham.

  675. I'm happening to the economy.

  676. I know what the word of God says about my finances.

  677. His word supersedes the economy.

  678. There's a heavenly economy.

  679. It's not happening to me.

  680. I'm happening to.

  681. Well, you know, I can't force my kids to go to church.

  682. I can't force my kids to go to church.

  683. You are a evil prophet.

  684. The very first Bible that my mother bought for me, she bought

  685. when I was 15 years old.

  686. And in the back page she says, mike, you are a preacher to the nations.

  687. And as your mother, I gift you this Bible Today in Christmas 1998.

  688. And she began to break it down.

  689. And my mother, she wrote a prophetic letter.

  690. All of us are prophets, but not all of us live in the world that

  691. we desire.

  692. But all of us live in the world that we create with our words.

  693. And David said I could act like a victim of Saul's lack of dealing

  694. with the problems.

  695. I could act like a victim because all the people I worked the

  696. hardest for in my life are now trying to kill me and take me out.

  697. Or I could put on the ephod, I can start the worship.

  698. Remember, he was an expert musician, so there are many times

  699. in his life where he went back to worship.

  700. I can change the atmosphere around me and in me.

  701. If I can't change them, come on, somebody.

  702. I can't change them, but I can change the atmosphere around me and

  703. on the inside of me.

  704. I can't control them because that would be witchcraft.

  705. But the gift of the spirit, the fruit of the spirit spirit is

  706. self control.

  707. Some of y' all are just Christian witches trying to control

  708. everybody.

  709. Oh, come on.

  710. I'm talking to somebody right now.

  711. But Lord, teach me how to control.

  712. Me, because I am not a victim.

  713. I'm going to encourage myself in the Lord, and then I'm going back

  714. to Ziglag and I'm going to confront that evil thing, and I'm

  715. going to take back everything that was stolen from me, because

  716. the only thing I'm a victim to is my disobedience.

  717. Oh, I'm preaching this for somebody right now.

  718. I'm preaching this for somebody, because it's liberating

  719. when you stop blaming your stepdad and you stop being a victim.

  720. It's liberating when you break free from.

  721. All these excuses, because then you realize, the only problem

  722. I really have.

  723. That's why we're obsessed with cancel culture.

  724. That's why we're obsessed with heresy hunting, because it's so much

  725. easier when you're a victim to blame everybody else.

  726. But guess what?

  727. True discipleship happens when you say to.

  728. Oh, come on.

  729. To live,.

  730. To live.

  731. And to die is.

  732. See, what happens in the word is.

  733. You realize this is between me and God, which is why David doesn't

  734. fight those who are fighting him in his own camp.

  735. He goes to God, he puts on the ephod, he begins to pray.

  736. He gets supernaturally empowered, and he runs back.

  737. And I want to show you this as I come to a close, because this is

  738. what you're about to do.

  739. This is what you're about to do.

  740. They found it, burned it with fire.

  741. Their wives and daughter are taken captive.

  742. This is not cute.

  743. This is not Instagramable.

  744. Come on, how many of you.

  745. Sometimes your life will be a wreck, but nobody can tell based

  746. on your social media.

  747. Come on, you're making zigzag look like Disney.

  748. But it's something that we gotta understand is that David was

  749. anointed to be king, but he was learning how to become the king

  750. before he got the crown.

  751. See, the distance between your destination and where you are is

  752. a process.

  753. It's a process of becoming.

  754. It's a process of stepping fully in.

  755. And as he began to do that, I want to read this last part to you.

  756. God said, if you do it, you'll recover all.

  757. Somebody say that phrase, recover all.

  758. Yeah.

  759. Say it one more time.

  760. Recover all.

  761. Recover all.

  762. That was the promise.

  763. Everything that was stolen, everything that was taken.

  764. And so what have you lost in this season?

  765. If you lost time, I believe you can recover all.

  766. He's a God that will cancel the curse of premature death and

  767. keep your heart pumping and keep your lungs expanding and see

  768. you through to your destiny destination.

  769. How many of you believe if you lost time, then to recover all means

  770. to get that time back.

  771. Does anybody believe that?

  772. He'll.

  773. Come on.

  774. He'll reverse it there.

  775. Recover all.

  776. Opportunities that slip.

  777. Some of us miss it.

  778. This is like the second Passover in Israel's history.

  779. That second Passover was.

  780. We know that you may be sick.

  781. And maimed or traveling, but there was a first Passover.

  782. But there's a second passover.

  783. May 1 as it fell this year.

  784. And it was almost as if God said, you got it wrong.

  785. You responded to those throwing stones at you.

  786. You did the wrong thing.

  787. You cursed with your tongue.

  788. That's what this sermon represents.

  789. It represents a second chance.

  790. I'm not saying these things to condemn you.

  791. The only authority I have to preach it is I've been the failed

  792. version.

  793. Of everything I've talked about in this sermon.

  794. But how many of you know that he makes his way mercies new every

  795. day?

  796. And you can go from being a prophet of doom to a prophet of destiny.

  797. You can go from those who fail in worship and those who rise up

  798. in worship.

  799. Every day he makes his mercies new.

  800. I don't care what you did yesterday.

  801. Yesterday is in the tomb and tomorrow is in the womb.

  802. Today is all I've got.

  803. Is there anybody who will say, today, I'll get it right.

  804. Today I'll prophesy.

  805. Today I'll worship.

  806. Today I'll sow.

  807. Today.

  808. This is what God wants to do.

  809. Recover all.

  810. Day by day by day.

  811. And then you begin to strengthen.

  812. David begins to go on this journey, and it says that he gets

  813. it all back, which is incredible.

  814. But I want to show you this last verse right here.

  815. Praise God.

  816. I feel it.

  817. I feel the anointing.

  818. I feel the anointing very strongly.

  819. Because this is one of those sermons where you enter the sermon

  820. being one person and you come out in 35 minutes being a completely

  821. different person.

  822. Does anybody feel that identity shift that's happening right

  823. now?

  824. That's what I believe the Lord is doing, is a shift in your identity.

  825. When I looked at Acts, I saw the same pattern begin to unfold

  826. in Acts, chapter four.

  827. I want to show you a parallel in the Scriptures.

  828. Because the Bible talks to itself, they were also like David.

  829. They were experiencing persecution.

  830. People didn't understand as the church was getting started, it

  831. was confusing.

  832. I'll be honest with you, coming to V1 church, whether you're

  833. in Miami or Brooklyn or you're a digital disciple online, as you

  834. go higher like a crab bucket, those crabs are going to grab you

  835. and try to pull you down.

  836. Do y' all know what a crab bucket is?

  837. You don't have to put a lid on a bucket full of crabs because when

  838. one tries to climb out, another crab will instinctually grab

  839. and pull it down.

  840. And many of us live in a crab bucket.

  841. And what that means is anytime they see you go higher, they think

  842. it's their job to pull you down.

  843. They think it's their job to humble you.

  844. Well, no, actually, humility is why I'm going higher.

  845. I lowered myself and the Lord is raising me up.

  846. And this is called the favor of God.

  847. But what happens in a crab bucket.

  848. Is they'll try to pull you down.

  849. How many of you know V1 church can't be a crab bucket?

  850. How many of you know we got to push each other up?

  851. How many of you know if one.

  852. Of us figures out how to go higher, we latch on and go with them.

  853. And everybody crawls out of the bucket.

  854. The reason why families stay stuck is because when one person

  855. figures out how to make money, the family go, oh, I guess you change

  856. now.

  857. I guess you think you're better than us.

  858. No, I'm not better than you.

  859. But I'm not ignorant anymore.

  860. I see the template in the word of God, and we can grow together.

  861. But a crab bucket doesn't need a lid, because the people in the

  862. bucket are the lid.

  863. So how many of you want to break free from that?

  864. Because in ziglag, David's mighty men were the very ones that

  865. were the crab bucket lid trying to pull David down.

  866. But David knew, don't fight them.

  867. Encourage yourself in the Lord.

  868. Because the gifts of God are without repentance.

  869. And if he called you, he'll commission you.

  870. And if he commissioned you, he'll protect you.

  871. And when he protects you, you arrive to that destination.

  872. David knew once I was anointed, it's only a matter of time,

  873. if I stay obedient, that I'll be appointed.

  874. So I ain't mad at you.

  875. Somebody say it with me all around the world.

  876. I ain't mad at you.

  877. That's a hood way of saying, I forgive you for wanting to stay stupid.

  878. I forgive you for fighting Jesus on the inside of me.

  879. You think it's me versus you, but it's you versus God.

  880. And I surrender to Him.

  881. Why don't you surrender, too?

  882. I ain't mad at you.

  883. I gotta keep going higher because I know how to humble myself.

  884. But you can go with me if you humble yourself too.

  885. I ain't mad at you.

  886. Somebody shouted.

  887. Put it in the comment section.

  888. I ain't mad at you.

  889. Because those feelings don't disappear.

  890. They relocate.

  891. So I'm going to forgive because he forgave me.

  892. I'm going to release them because he released me.

  893. I ain't mad at you.

  894. If you understood, you would be serving him too.

  895. I once was blind, but now I'm found.

  896. I once was lost, but now I'm found.

  897. Come on, somebody.

  898. I Ain't mad at you.

  899. I remember one of the holiest prayers of my life was when I was

  900. driving my 95 Ford Windstar, yes, a van, 19 years old, driving

  901. a 200 mile journey from northwest Indiana to Indiana University.

  902. And I'm driving the van.

  903. And the Lord gave me the revelation.

  904. He said, mike, do you want to live your rest of your life like

  905. a victim?

  906. Do you want to be in ziglag?

  907. And he was this message.

  908. I remember, 19 years old, the Lord teach me this.

  909. And he said, your dad was Saul and your dad never conquered these

  910. things.

  911. But are you going to be mad at your biological father?

  912. At the time, I had a pastor who had failed.

  913. He said, are you going to be mad at your pastor?

  914. Are you going to be a victim of northwest Indiana, where there's

  915. gang violence and drugs at 8,094 and 65 is.

  916. What some of the.

  917. One of the biggest intersections for the exchange of

  918. drugs in all of America happened where I'm from.

  919. And, and, and I was raised in poverty.

  920. I remember at 19 years old, the Lord spoke to me and said, Mike,

  921. are you going to be a victim?

  922. Are you going to learn how to be victorious?

  923. And I said, God, I don't want to be a victim.

  924. I want to be a victor.

  925. And you know what God told me then?

  926. Forgive everybody who failed you.

  927. Forgive everybody who, who wronged you.

  928. Forgive for.

  929. And I mean, I'll tell you, my car, that 95 Windstar, started to

  930. fill with the glory of God, his presence.

  931. My glasses were fogging over.

  932. I started speaking in tongues.

  933. I had to turn that van off the side of the road.

  934. And I began to beg God to forgive those people that hurt me.

  935. Why?

  936. Because the Lord was getting ready to take me higher.

  937. But he's got to remove some baggage so that you can be buoyant

  938. to go up.

  939. Some of you are carrying some baggage that God wants to loose you

  940. from right now.

  941. So jump up to your feet if you're ready.

  942. Somebody say it.

  943. I'm ready.

  944. Come on, somebody say I'm ready.

  945. Come on.

  946. Remember God's faithfulness.

  947. You got to rehearse his past victories to remind yourself that

  948. there will be future victories.

  949. You're sick in your body.

  950. Didn't he heal you before?

  951. You're broke.

  952. Didn't he bless you before?

  953. Come on, this is the way it is.

  954. I'm gonna remind myself of what he's.

  955. Done as proof of what he'll do again.

  956. Return to his presence.

  957. How many of you about to change the channel?

  958. You're gonna change what you Listen to.

  959. You're going to change.

  960. Some of you need to fall asleep to the Bible app reading you

  961. the scriptures instead of another podcast.

  962. How many of you are about to.

  963. Change what you feed so something else grows and something

  964. else dies?

  965. How many of you are going to receive specific direction?

  966. Lord, do you want me to pursue it?

  967. Lord, do you want me to do it?

  968. I'm not going to chase what you don't tell me to chase.

  969. Are you ready?

  970. Are you ready?

  971. Are you ready?

  972. In the book of Acts, this is what it says.

  973. Oh, it's so good.

  974. It says that they were receiving persecution.

  975. This is Acts, chapter four.

  976. And as they were receiving persecution, you know, Peter wanted

  977. to fight everybody because he was hood.

  978. So, you know, Peter was like, oh, Jesus ain't here to stop me this

  979. time, fool.

  980. You know what I'm talking about?

  981. These people were persecuting him.

  982. As a matter of fact, Peter prayed for a guy.

  983. As a matter of fact, the guy that Peter prayed for that was sick,

  984. that received a healing, had actually been sick for over 30 years,

  985. which was longer than any recorded sickness that Jesus healed

  986. in scripture.

  987. And everybody in Jerusalem would have known the man that Jesus

  988. healed because they would have passed him as he was begging for.

  989. For alms.

  990. So I was rereading the Book of Acts this the last couple of weeks,

  991. and you.

  992. It's like you could hear Peter's heart.

  993. He's talking to these religious zealots that want to persecute

  994. him.

  995. And he's saying, but you know this guy.

  996. Like, are you really going to be mad that I helped this dude?

  997. You.

  998. All of us passed him and.

  999. And I was the first person to pray for him.

  1000. He got healed.

1001. That's what this is about.

1002. How many of you have ever frustrated by what they persecute

  1003. you for?

1004. Like, you're really gonna get mad that I go to church, but you

  1005. were.

1006. Never mad when I went to the bar.

1007. You're gonna get mad that I give to the church, but you were

1008. never mad when I bought us all dinner.

1009. You're gonna be mad that I go to to a Breakers night, but you weren't

1010. mad when we went to Puerto Rico and almost got sexually transmitted

  1011. diseases, you know?

  1012. Yeah.

1013. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

1014. You're gonna be mad at this, but you don't understand.

1015. And it's like Peter saying, is this what we're really arguing about?

  1016. I healed the guy.

  1017. Nobody else could heal.

  1018. Heal.

1019. It's like David and Ziglag.

1020. Y' all gonna throw rocks at me after I killed the Giant, it's.

1021. They took your kids, they stole your stuff.

1022. You're gonna turn on me.

1023. This is what it's like to be.

1024. But there's only one way out.

1025. This is what we're about to do as a church.

  1026. Forgive them.

1027. Put on your ephod, start interceding and pray.

1028. Change the direction of your prophecy, and then go fight and recover

  1029. all.

  1030. And when.

  1031. Watch.

1032. In Acts chapter four, Peter comes out of that persecution.

1033. And all of a sudden he was like, wait a second.

  1034. Pentecost just happened.

1035. And when the Holy Spirit came, I was filled.

1036. And when I was filled, I was empowered.

1037. And that was not my power.

  1038. That was his power.

  1039. And I preached.

1040. And over 3,000 were added in a day.

1041. So it was almost as if he.

1042. Had figured out this secret formula.

  1043. The.

1044. The ways of the Spirit.

1045. So Peter says in Acts 4, let's get together again.

1046. So they get together again, and they reassembled.

1047. And as they reassembled, the Bible says.

1048. They all begin to pray.

  1049. They begin to pray.

1050. Have you ever been praying in the.

1051. Spirit so long you're talking?

  1052. Tongues start to change.

1053. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

  1054. Anybody know?

1055. They begin to pray, they begin to intercede.

1056. Then all of a sudden, the Bible says the place where they're

  1057. at begins to shake.

1058. There's a shaking that begins to take place.

1059. How many of you know that when the people of God get together and

1060. pray, it'll shake the foundation of Manhattan.

1061. It'll shake the foundation of New Jersey.

  1062. It'll shake the foundation.

  1063. Some of you.

1064. It'll shake the snakes off of your children.

1065. In the spirit realm, it'll shake the chains off of your mind.

1066. It'll shake something loose off your bank account.

1067. Does anybody believe that when the people of God pray and we come

  1068. together, there's a shaking?

1069. Like, did it just happen in Acts Chapter four, or does it always

1070. happen when we act like Acts Chapter four?

1071. Who's ready for a shaking when we pray?

  1072. Shaking.

1073. So they begin to pray, and there's a shaking.

1074. And then all of a sudden, the.

1075. Holy Spirit fills and they're empowered again.

  1076. I know your problem.

1077. Your problem is you're more filled with Dunkin Donuts than you

  1078. are the Holy Spirit.

1079. Your problem is you're more filled with Starbucks than you are

  1080. the Holy Spirit.

  1081. Oh, come on.

1082. You're more filled with Tiktoks than you are scriptures.

1083. You're more filled with Instagram than you are the Holy Spirit.

1084. But if my people who are called.

1085. By my name will humble themselves and begin to cry out,

1086. I will Hear from heaven.

1087. I will respond and I will heal their land.

  1088. It's about dominion.

1089. And the key word in dominion is domain.

1090. Devil, this is my house.

  1091. This is my ziglag.

1092. This does not belong to you.

  1093. That's my wife.

  1094. Those are my children.

  1095. Children.

  1096. I'm recovering all.

1097. And this is not even the only thing in the equation.

1098. That's not mine is my strength.

1099. It's his strength to take back what's mine.

  1100. Are you ready?

1101. Okay, here's what I want to do.

1102. Let's get the worship teams ready at every campus right now.

1103. Global online, get ready to rock with me.

1104. We're going to rock the foundations.

1105. We're going to shake Canada right now.

1106. We're gonna shake Southern California right now.

  1107. Come on, Dan.

  1108. We're gonna shake.

1109. Y' all ready to shake?

1110. Are you ready to shake?

  1111. So here's what we're gonna do.

1112. We're gonna take 90 seconds across the entire world right now

1113. in every campus, and we're gonna put on the ephod.

1114. Tell your neighbor, push them.

  1115. Tell them.

  1116. Put on the ephod.

  1117. It's time now.

1118. We're about to do this.

  1119. Yep, yep, yep.

1120. We're about to put on the ephod.

1121. And we're about to shake the very ground we're in right now.

1122. How many of you wanna shake Long island with me right now?

1123. How many of you wan with me right now?

1124. Come on, we're gonna shake it right now.

1125. Let's lift up the music right now.

1126. If you want to lift your hands, lift your hands.

1127. Take a few moments right now.

1128. Whatever you're believing God for.

1129. Salt water and fresh water can't come out of the same spring.

1130. How many of you are making a commitment?

1131. From this moment on, fresh water is going to come out of my

  1132. mouth.

1133. I'm going to speak the word of God.

1134. I'm going to prophesy his way.

1135. Come on, let's shake the ground.

1136. I'm going to pray with you right now.

  1137. Lift up your voices.

  1138. Gen Z.

  1139. Lift up your voice.

  1140. Gen Alph.

  1141. Lift up your voice.

  1142. Come on, every generation.

1143. Let's shake the ground that we're on right now.

  1144. Come on.

  1145. Begin to pray.

  1146. Yeah.

  1147. Come on.

  1148. Use your own words.

  1149. Come on.

  1150. From your belly.

  1151. Begin to pray.

  1152. Begin to pray.

  1153. Begin to pray.

1154. Some of you need to begin to prophesy.

  1155. I will recover all.

1156. I'm going to recover my health.

1157. I'm going to recover my finances.

1158. I'm going to recover my family.

  1159. This is your mandate.

  1160. I will recover all.

  1161. I will recover all.

1162. Some of you are going to recover your youth Recover your time

1163. I will recover all oh, oh, oh, Sam.
