  1. In Luke's Gospel, in chapter 19 and verse 37, we read these words just a moment ago.

  2. When Jesus came near the place where the road goes down to the Mount of Olives,

  3. the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for the miracles they had seen.

  4. Some years ago, I think it was my eldest daughter's 18th birthday,

  5. and we decided that we would all go out as a family, which in our case is quite a logistics exercise anyway.

  6. We went to this, it wouldn't be fair for me to give the name of it, but it begins with TGI.

  7. And we went to this restaurant in High Wycombe, and in we went to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday.

  8. And we sat there for a while, and then a waitress came and took a drinks order,

  9. and then we sat there for a very long while, and she returned with a menu and a notebook and took our orders.

  10. Then she disappeared for an H, and our starters arrived.

  11. And then she disappeared for an eon.

  12. And eventually she brought our meals out, which sadly looked okay, but were pretty well stone cold.

  13. At that point, my wife had been restraining me.

  14. I went to the waiter and I pointed out the deficiencies of their service and the food that they'd finally turned up with.

  15. And he was very apologetic.

  16. He offered me a 10% discount, which I managed to get up to 50% before violence broke out.

  17. But I thought to myself, yeah, the whole thing was just a dreadful letdown.

  18. And then I thought, actually, if I think about my life,

  19. some of my worst behaviors have arisen from situations where my expectations have been shattered.

  20. In the world of management science now, it's a big deal.

  21. You get this phrase all over the place.

  22. People talking about the management of expectations.

  23. You put that into Google, within 0.39 of a second, you'll get 189,000 hits.

  24. 189,000 hits on managing expectations.

  25. I don't know if we ever managed them.

  26. What I want to talk to you about today is,

  27. how do we learn to live with those expectations that we've had in our lives that we felt let down on?

  28. And okay, let's be honest, I got over that meal pretty quickly.

  29. But other expectations in my life may be more important expectations.

  30. Relations counselors will tell us that one of the biggest problems that people encounter in their relationships

  31. is that of unfulfilled expectations.

  32. Back in the day when I was in local church ministry, shortly after the Reformation,

  33. I used to have young couples come.

  34. We had a very nice church in the middle of a field that people wanted to get married at.

  35. And they would show up there, and I would say to ask them questions like,

  36. So have you discussed money together?

  37. I'm like, no.

  38. Have you discussed having children together?

  39. No.

  40. I said, do either of you have any ideas about either of those two subjects?

  41. Yeah.

  42. I said, so you have some expectations of how you're going to handle money

  43. and what you're going to do about children,

  44. but you've never talked about it.

  45. It taught me that.

  46. Actually, it's very easy to have expectations of what's going to happen in your relationships,

  47. and it's not difficult to feel let down.

  48. I suppose if I were being totally transparent with you,

  49. I would have to let my wife come up here and have a few words at this point.

  50. But I'm not going to do that.

  51. People starting new jobs start with expectations.

  52. I was talking to the chief executive of a large company recently.

  53. He was saying he was interviewing one of those, sadly,

  54. much maligned kind of groups within our population we call millennials.

  55. Very maligned group of people.

  56. And he was just about to give a spiel about,

  57. at the end of the interview,

  58. we'll give you an opportunity to ask any questions you might have.

  59. And the young man said, I have a question already.

  60. He said, yeah.

  61. I said, what's this job going to do for me?

  62. The guy goes, CEO goes, ooh.

  63. We have a job here we need you to do.

  64. I hope it will do something for you.

  65. But actually, my interest in this interview is, can you do the job?

  66. You see, can you, how quickly expectations can drift in different directions and cause difficulty.

  67. I could realize one of the most inadvertent but smartest things I ever did

  68. was when I got to my first parish where I was the minister, senior minister.

  69. And I went to our church council meeting and I took a flip chart with me.

  70. And I said to the PCC, so what do you think my job is?

  71. I shout and stuff out.

  72. We're like on the fourth page.

  73. And I stopped them.

  74. I said, so would any of you like this job?

  75. They're all like, of course not.

  76. I said, does anybody think there's any human being stalking the earth who could do this job?

  77. They're like, well, of course not.

  78. So I said, but actually you're very happy to put that on my shoulders.

  79. They're like, well, you're paid.

  80. So what we did was, we did, you know, I said, look, this is what I can do.

  81. And here is the three and a half pages that I can't do.

  82. And I'm not saying they're not important, but I can't do that.

  83. So we're going to have to work out how do we do that together.

  84. I didn't realize how smart that was.

  85. But I tell you, it saved me a lot of sleepless nights and stress.

  86. Jesus entered Jerusalem to a mood of great celebration.

  87. Comes out even more.

  88. I mean, you may or may not be aware of this, but this little narrative about Jesus,

  89. the so-called triumphal entry into Jerusalem, is recorded in all four of the Gospels.

  90. It must be there to teach people like you and me something really important.

  91. In the other three versions of it, the celebratory aspect of it is even clearer.

  92. Luke tells us it was the crowd of disciples.

  93. The other Gospels tell us it was the whole crowd.

  94. And as you well know, in Mark's Gospel and Matthew's Gospel,

  95. they cut down palms from trees and chucked those on the road

  96. and didn't record that their cloaks were put on the road.

  97. Something's going on.

  98. Why would the crowd that shouted,

  99. Bless God and Hosanna,

  100. why would that crowd, just a few days later,

  101. be the same crowd that shouted, Crucify?

  102. Something had gone wrong.

  103. Dorothy L. Sayers, in 1941,

  104. wrote her play, it was actually 12 little plays for radio,

  105. called The Man Born to be King.

  106. One of those plays was about Judas.

  107. Of course, you know that Judas betrayed Jesus

  108. and went behind his back and sold his soul for 30 pieces of silver,

  109. which we're not quite sure what that would be worth today.

  110. It could be anything between 70 pounds and 2,900 pounds,

  111. but not a lot of money to give somebody's life over to the enemy.

  112. And Dorothy L. Sayers' theory was that Judas suffered from shattered expectations.

  113. She said that what Judas thought was that Jesus, the Messiah,

  114. was entering Jerusalem to lead a political mutiny,

  115. to overthrow the occupying Roman forces.

  116. And when they saw him tied up and beat up and dragging a cross,

  117. something snapped.

  118. You know, they could see he was not going to fulfill the purpose

  119. they thought he had come to fulfill.

  120. And their expectations were shattered.

  121. And the mood of the crowd turned ugly.

  122. And they shouted, crucify.

  123. And if you've ever thought, you know,

  124. about that little piece in the epistle of James,

  125. which is a very challenging piece of scripture,

  126. James says, the tongue, the very same tongue

  127. that you use to bless God

  128. is the very same tongue you use to curse human beings.

  129. Hosanna.

  130. Bless God.

  131. Hosanna literally means in Hebrew, save now.

  132. What that crowd was shouting

  133. was in effect when Jesus entered Jerusalem,

  134. they were shouting political slogans.

  135. It's a bit like, I'm not making a political point here,

  136. believe me, I'm just making an example.

  137. It's a bit like, you know, you hear the chant,

  138. Tories out.

  139. Well, the shout, save now, Hosanna,

  140. was a political rant.

  141. And it would imply that what they were shouting

  142. was Romans out.

  143. No wonder the governor,

  144. Pilate,

  145. was very nervous

  146. when he heard this kind of insurrection arising.

  147. But here's my point,

  148. and this is what I want to try and help you with,

  149. and in helping you help myself with,

  150. is how do we deal

  151. with expectations

  152. that are let down?

  153. Broken expectations,

  154. hopes dashed,

  155. disappointment in spades,

  156. and behavior

  157. that are out of control,

  158. behaviors that are out of control.

  159. Of course,

  160. that leaves us

  161. with the very difficult question.

  162. And I know

  163. that in a group this size,

  164. some of you will be suffering

  165. from this big time.

  166. And it's this,

  167. how do we deal

  168. with disappointment?

  169. How do we deal

  170. with our lives

  171. when we've been

  172. deeply disappointed?

  173. I can remember now

  174. only too well

  175. as a young fellow

  176. at 15,

  177. 16 years old.

  178. I wanted to be

  179. a professional footballer,

  180. and I was reasonably good

  181. at football,

  182. and I got a certain way

  183. with that,

  184. and in the end

  185. I was told,

  186. actually by the manager

  187. of the enemy,

  188. Manchester City,

  189. that I would never be good enough

  190. to play

  191. in the old first division.

  192. I mean,

  193. I tell you that now,

  194. I mean,

  195. a few days time,

  196. I'll be 70 years old.

  197. So,

  198. whatever 15 is from 70,

  199. somebody shout it out.

  200. 55?

  201. 55,

  202. I can still feel

  203. the disappointment

  204. in the pit of my stomach

  205. at being told that news.

  206. And I can remember thinking,

  207. I wasn't a believer then,

  208. I wasn't a Christian,

  209. I had nothing inside me

  210. to fight that kind

  211. of disappointment.

  212. So I just got angrier

  213. than I already was.

  214. Acted out terrible behaviors.

  215. And disappointment

  216. can do that to you.

  217. It can break your relationships,

  218. it can break your heart.

  219. And I know,

  220. you know,

  221. having been a pastor

  222. for the last 40 years,

  223. how much disappointment,

  224. disappointment,

  225. how much shattered

  226. expectations

  227. can affect us.

  228. And my observation is,

  229. we have a number of ways

  230. of kind of

  231. trying to cope with this.

  232. Some of them are healthy,

  233. some of them are not so healthy.

  234. One way of dealing with it

  235. is,

  236. you just give up.

  237. And when I was told

  238. I wasn't good enough

  239. to play

  240. first division football,

  241. I went off in a sulk

  242. and played rugby league.

  243. Some people just give up

  244. in their relationships

  245. when their expectations

  246. are let down.

  247. A woman said to me

  248. recently,

  249. she said,

  250. we'll have been married

  251. for 65 years.

  252. And she said,

  253. he's not the man

  254. I married.

  255. I'm like,

  256. I bet you're glad

  257. about that,

  258. aren't you?

  259. She's like,

  260. you know.

  261. Some people just give up.

  262. Others push on resentfully.

  263. You know,

  264. we're talking about

  265. expectations.

  266. What about those of you

  267. who feel let down by God?

  268. Right?

  269. But you're still

  270. showing up in church.

  271. But deep down inside,

  272. week by week,

  273. you are smoldering

  274. with resentment.

  275. thinking that

  276. this God in heaven

  277. dealt you

  278. a tough set of marbles,

  279. if I can use

  280. a technical theological phrase.

  281. That's what some people do.

  282. They don't deal

  283. with their lack of expectation.

  284. They just kind of carry on.

  285. But they carry on

  286. with resentfulness

  287. and bitterness

  288. in their hearts.

  289. Then there are those people,

  290. I suppose I was like this

  291. when I was young,

  292. you just lash out.

  293. I don't mean necessarily

  294. physically,

  295. but verbally,

  296. whatever.

  297. You just become

  298. deeply unpleasant.

  299. You know,

  300. and of course,

  301. you can see deep unpleasantness

  302. in other people,

  303. but sometimes you can miss it

  304. in yourself.

  305. I don't know,

  306. I was a

  307. Seinfeld fan,

  308. American TV sitcom

  309. when I was younger.

  310. And what's so clever

  311. about that program

  312. is that everybody

  313. on it is basically horrible.

  314. But somehow,

  315. they end up making you

  316. like them.

  317. Well,

  318. it doesn't happen like that

  319. in real life,

  320. does it?

  321. People who are

  322. deeply unpleasant

  323. end up being

  324. deeply isolated.

  325. The fourth thing is,

  326. and this is where

  327. it starts to get

  328. a bit more healthy,

  329. is we sort of reset

  330. our expectation

  331. dial.

  332. Somehow,

  333. it dawns on us

  334. that our expectation

  335. is unreasonable

  336. and we need to

  337. just shift it.

  338. So,

  339. you know,

  340. if you're marrying

  341. somebody who you think

  342. is perfect,

  343. I mean,

  344. honestly,

  345. this is true,

  346. right?

  347. It shows you

  348. how way

  349. what I was.

  350. When I got married,

  351. I thought

  352. I was a real prize.

  353. I said,

  354. why are you laughing?

  355. I thought I was

  356. a real prize.

  357. I thought,

  358. you know,

  359. women get,

  360. I'm uncomplicated,

  361. I'm easygoing,

  362. you know,

  363. I'm happy-go-lucking.

  364. I'm actually not

  365. at all like that,

  366. it transpires.

  367. I'm complicated

  368. and,

  369. you know,

  370. I'm not easy

  371. and,

  372. you know,

  373. I don't want to be like that

  374. but somehow

  375. I feel like St. Paul,

  376. you know,

  377. when he said,

  378. the good I want to do

  379. I find myself avoiding

  380. and the evil I want to avoid

  381. I find myself doing.

  382. I don't want to be like that.

  383. How come I am?

  384. Well,

  385. some people

  386. will just reset

  387. their expectation dial

  388. and if you think

  389. the person you married

  390. is perfect,

  391. you probably need to do

  392. a little resetting exercise

  393. pretty quickly

  394. because nobody

  395. apart from Jesus Christ

  396. who walks this planet

  397. is perfect.

  398. It's true.

  399. And the last thing is

  400. and this is what really

  401. takes courage

  402. and takes work

  403. and sometimes

  404. takes somebody

  405. to sit with you

  406. to help you do it

  407. is we can renegotiate

  408. our expectations.

  409. See how?

  410. You know,

  411. when I gave my life

  412. to Christ

  413. I came from so far out

  414. it was unbelievable.

  415. I mean,

  416. I won't bore you

  417. with it now

  418. but honestly

  419. the trajectory

  420. of becoming

  421. a bishop

  422. in the church

  423. my trajectory

  424. is not normal.

  425. I mean,

  426. for a kicker

  427. as far as I can tell

  428. most of them

  429. were converts

  430. to a Christian faith

  431. like me.

  432. You know,

  433. I was brought up in it.

  434. I was never brought up in it.

  435. But when I became

  436. a Christian

  437. I very quickly

  438. discovered

  439. what my life's mission

  440. was.

  441. And everything

  442. that had been important

  443. to me

  444. ceased to be important

  445. to me

  446. and what God gave me

  447. as my life's mission

  448. became really important

  449. to me.

  450. If we're living

  451. with

  452. damaged

  453. expectations

  454. then

  455. we are going to

  456. find life

  457. a little tricky.

  458. Of course

  459. we know full well

  460. that throughout

  461. the whole arena

  462. of Christian history

  463. and even before that

  464. there were disciples

  465. who gave up.

  466. John chapter 6

    John 6 chapter mention

  467. and verse 66

  468. very interesting

  469. numerology

  470. for those of you

  471. who are interested

  472. in that kind of thing

  473. 666

  474. the mark of the beast

  475. it says that

  476. several of the

  477. disciples of Jesus

  478. gave up.

  479. And there are

  480. disciples of Jesus

  481. today

  482. who give up.

  483. And it's worth

  484. remembering isn't it

  485. that at the end

  486. of three dynamic

  487. years of Jesus

  488. healing ministry

  489. where thousands

  490. of people

  491. if you include

  492. the feeding

  493. of the 5,000

  494. thousands of people

  495. were touched

  496. by the supernatural

  497. ministry of Jesus.

  498. There were only

  499. 120 people

  500. left

  501. immediately

  502. before

  503. the day

  504. of Pentecost.

  505. You can read

  506. about that

  507. in Acts chapter 1.

    Acts 1 chapter mention

  508. And there is

  509. the likelihood

  510. that some of you

  511. will give up

  512. and I hope

  513. and pray

  514. that you really

  515. won't.

  516. I want you

  517. to just

  518. focus for a

  519. moment

  520. as I come

  521. to an end

  522. on some

  523. things that

  524. you could do

  525. which might

  526. help some

  527. of you

  528. make a

  529. massive move

  530. forward

  531. in your

  532. spiritual life.

  533. First thing

  534. is this.

  535. You will

  536. never deal

  537. with disappointment

  538. unless you

  539. try and feel

  540. it strongly.

  541. Let me say

  542. that again.

  543. You will

  544. never deal

  545. with disappointment

  546. unless you

  547. can feel it

  548. as strongly

  549. as you

  550. can.

  551. If you

  552. just allow

  553. it to

  554. gnaw away

  555. at you

  556. in a kind

  557. of low

  558. level way

  559. that's

  560. exactly

  561. what it

  562. will do

  563. and it

  564. will stay

  565. with you

  566. for the

  567. whole of

  568. your earthly

  569. life.

  570. If you

  571. can feel

  572. it strongly

  573. then you

  574. might be

  575. able to

  576. let go

  577. of it.

  578. Second

  579. thing you

  580. could try

  581. is this.

  582. Like the

  583. psalmist.

  584. You know

  585. what I love

  586. about the

  587. psalms is

  588. how outrageous

  589. people are.

  590. You know

  591. we Anglicans

  592. come together

  593. and you're

  594. oh mighty

  595. God blah blah

  596. blah blah

  597. yada yada

  598. not the

  599. psalmist.

  600. You know

  601. in the

  602. Hebrew

  603. there's one

  604. psalm

  605. where it

  606. says in

  607. the Hebrew

  608. where the

  609. hell are

  610. you God?

  611. You know

  612. are you

  613. stuck in

  614. the loo?

  615. We need

  616. to bring

  617. those strong

  618. feelings

  619. before God.

  620. Sometimes

  621. they're better

  622. said to

  623. God than

  624. to someone

  625. you love

  626. as a

  627. matter of

  628. fact.

  629. And let

  630. them kind

  631. of sail

  632. with him.

  633. God can

  634. deal with

  635. your

  636. disappointment

  637. even if

  638. you can't.

  639. The third

  640. thing is

  641. remember

  642. with God

  643. all things

  644. are possible

  645. but not

  646. all things

  647. are probable.

  648. You know

  649. this is one

  650. of the

  651. things where

  652. I think

  653. people of

  654. faith live

  655. in a

  656. kind of

  657. shadow.

  658. On the

  659. one thing

  660. wanting to

  661. believe that

  662. with God

  663. all things

  664. are possible

  665. and by

  666. very

  667. definition

  668. because

  669. God is

  670. who God

  671. is

  672. all things

  673. must be

  674. possible

  675. but why

  676. doesn't

  677. everything

  678. I want

  679. to happen

  680. happen?

  681. You know

  682. why haven't

  683. I got a

  684. yacht?

  685. You know

  686. why am I

  687. not driving

  688. around town

  689. in a big

  690. beamer?

  691. You know

  692. why do I

  693. still struggle

  694. in so

  695. many ways?

  696. I don't

  697. think we

  698. should ever

  699. lose sight

  700. of the

  701. fact that

  702. with God

  703. all things

  704. are possible

  705. but we

  706. should also

  707. work out

  708. that what's

  709. probable is

  710. that what

  711. God might

  712. do for

  713. me is

  714. more likely

  715. to be

  716. driven by

  717. my own

  718. ego and

  719. self

  720. selfishness

  721. than it

  722. is by a

  723. genuine

  724. desire to

  725. see God's

  726. will done

  727. in my

  728. life.

  729. Fourth

  730. thing is

  731. really

  732. important.

  733. You know

  734. I really

  735. don't like

  736. to hear

  737. preachers

  738. who will

  739. tell you

  740. that if

  741. you trust

  742. God your

  743. life will

  744. become

  745. comfortable

  746. and all

  747. your problems

  748. will be

  749. over and

  750. it doesn't

  751. work like

  752. that does

  753. it?

  754. Trusting

  755. God is

  756. not always

  757. the most

  758. comfortable

  759. option.

  760. You ever

  761. seen that

  762. picture of

  763. Saint

  764. Sebastian?

  765. You know

  766. this is one

  767. of God's

  768. faithful

  769. soldiers

  770. and servants

  771. and the

  772. most commonly

  773. known

  774. seen

  775. picture of

  776. Saint

  777. Sebastian

  778. is

  779. there's

  780. this guy

  781. nailed to

  782. a cross

  783. like Jesus

  784. was

  785. except that

  786. somebody's

  787. fired about

  788. 28 arrows

  789. through him

  790. while he's

  791. on the

  792. cross.

  793. You're like

  794. I wonder if

  795. Saint Sebastian

  796. was feeling

  797. comfortable

  798. at that

  799. moment.

  800. God

  801. doesn't

  802. promise you

  803. an easy

  804. life.

  805. he promises

  806. you a

  807. fulfilled

  808. life

  809. and you

  810. need to

  811. think about

  812. that.

  813. The fifth

  814. thing is

  815. always be

  816. open to

  817. a new

  818. move from

  819. God

  820. and the

  821. sixth thing

  822. is hang

  823. on in

  824. there please.

  825. I'm going

  826. to close

  827. with a

  828. story about

  829. I say he's

  830. a friend of

  831. mine and

  832. I probably

  833. haven't seen

  834. him for

  835. 37 years

  836. now.

  837. We're that

  838. close.

  839. And he

  840. was a

  841. licensed lay

  842. minister in

  843. the church

  844. where I was

  845. a curer.

  846. And he

  847. was married

  848. and they

  849. had their

  850. first child

  851. and this

  852. child was

  853. severely

  854. severely

  855. disabled

  856. child.

  857. For the

  858. first year

  859. of this

  860. child's life

  861. he virtually

  862. never stopped

  863. screaming.

  864. all through

  865. the night

  866. really

  867. difficult

  868. stuff.

  869. And

  870. you know

  871. there's this

  872. kind of

  873. drip feed

  874. from the

  875. doctors

  876. about quite

  877. how acute

  878. his condition

  879. was.

  880. And they

  881. were told

  882. he would

  883. never live

  884. past the

  885. age of

  886. five.

  887. In fact

  888. he lived

  889. until he

  890. was 18

  891. years old

  892. and then

  893. he died.

  894. One night

  895. it got

  896. so bad

  897. Colin went

  898. into

  899. Matthew's

  900. room

  901. and he

  902. picked up

  903. a pillow.

  904. He was

  905. about to

  906. put the

  907. pillow

  908. over the

  909. baby's

  910. head

  911. and suffocate

  912. little

  913. Matthew.

  914. They put

  915. the pillow

  916. on the

  917. baby's

  918. face

  919. and he

  920. heard a

  921. voice.

  922. A voice

  923. said don't

  924. do that.

  925. This is

  926. my child.

  927. It's

  928. like you

  929. know maybe

  930. I need to

  931. change my

  932. medication.

  933. Starts to

  934. press down

  935. on the

  936. pillow.

  937. The voice

  938. comes again.

  939. Don't do

  940. this.

  941. This is

  942. my child.

  943. They took

  944. the pillow

  945. away and

  946. it's like

  947. what was

  948. that voice?

  949. So he

  950. went to

  951. see the

  952. local

  953. vicar.

  954. The local

  955. vicar said

  956. I think

  957. very likely

  958. God made

  959. a move

  960. in your

  961. life.

  962. It's

  963. like well

  964. why would

  965. God allow

  966. my child

  967. to be born

  968. like this?

  969. The vicar

  970. said I

  971. cannot

  972. answer that

  973. question.

  974. But I

  975. think God's

  976. making a

  977. move in

  978. your life.

  979. The

  980. upshot

  981. it was

  982. Colin

  983. and his

  984. wife gave

  985. their lives

  986. to Christ.

  987. And when

  988. Matthew died

  989. at the

  990. age of

  991. 18 they

  992. told me

  993. that at

  994. Matthew's

  995. funeral

  996. Colin stood

  997. up and

  998. said the

  999. only thing

  1000. that I

  1001. got right

  1002. with that

  1003. little boy

  1004. when he

  1005. was first

  1006. born was

  1007. we gave

  1008. him the

  1009. name

  1010. Matthew

  1011. because

  1012. Matthew

  1013. was an

  1014. evangelist

  1015. and he

  1016. led his

  1017. mummy and

  1018. daddy to

  1019. Jesus

  1020. Christ.

  1021. Listen

  1022. to me.

  1023. You

  1024. got

  1025. disappointment

  1026. in your

  1027. life that

  1028. you're not

  1029. dealing with.

  1030. I want to

  1031. plead with

  1032. you.

  1033. Do

  1034. something.

  1035. Feel the

  1036. disappointment.

  1037. Try and

  1038. hand it

  1039. on.

  1040. Speak

  1041. openly and

  1042. honestly with

  1043. God.

  1044. Let it

  1045. go.

  1046. It may be

  1047. most

  1048. important and

  1049. those of

  1050. you who

  1051. feel this

  1052. will know

  1053. it.

  1054. It may be

  1055. that you

  1056. need a new

  1057. move of

  1058. God in

  1059. your life

  1060. and I

  1061. can't make

  1062. that happen.

  1063. all I can

  1064. do is

  1065. plead with

  1066. you.

  1067. Just be

  1068. open to

  1069. this God

  1070. who can

  1071. do a

  1072. mighty move

  1073. in your

  1074. life and

  1075. can transform

  1076. the deepest

  1077. parts of

  1078. your

  1079. disappointment

  1080. in a way

  1081. that you

  1082. would never

  1083. dare to

  1084. ask or

  1085. imagine.

  1086. To him

  1087. be glory.

  1088. Let's

  1089. not be

  1090. part of

  1091. that crowd

  1092. that shouts

  1093. Hosanna one

  1094. day and

  1095. shouts

  1096. crucify just

  1097. a few days

  1098. later.
