  1. The Bible tells us that he will keep you strong to the end so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  2. My goodness, how much the world has changed since I was born in 1949.

  3. Save you the maths, I'm 75.

  4. Things have changed unimaginably, so much so that two sociologists, Alvin and Heidi Toffler, wrote a book which is called Future Shock.

  5. And in that book, they argue that the pace of change is increasing and increasing and increasing.

  6. The longer we live on planet Earth, the greater the velocity of the change that we experience.

  7. And their conclusion was, such continuous and increasingly speedy change is likely to work out in neurotic human behaviour.

  8. Certainly, the world I was born into is very different.

  9. It was a world where I think you could argue, and probably many people would argue today,

  10. that we were kept less safe than our children today.

  11. My childhood was throughout the 1950s.

  12. It seems unbelievable now that I can assert these things to you that marked out my childhood,

  13. which would be a million miles away, I think, from modern parents, not being critical of that at all.

  14. I was allowed, from the age of six, to do something which we called playing out.

  15. That was, I could go with my friends.

  16. My parents seemed to have this unerring belief that the big boys would be a good influence on the little boys.

  17. Wrong in every count.

  18. I was allowed to skate on frozen ponds.

  19. I was allowed with the big boys to get on a train, make a 35-minute journey to Old Trafford,

  20. and go and watch Manchester United win for a change.

  21. And then come home.

  22. And there were some restrictions, however.

  23. I was mortified that my parents would not allow me to own a catapult.

  24. And I had strict times when I was supposed to be back at home with my granny and my parents.

  25. I think you'd agree with me, all this seems a very long way away from the health and safety culture we live in today.

  26. Warnings abound everywhere.

  27. I was at a park in Keswick recently, up in the Lake District, and I read this.

  28. It said,

  29. Beware, the grass can be wet.

  30. Our text tells us that God will keep us strong,

  31. and in that strength, he will keep his people.

  32. The Bible has many explicit stories about the way God kept his people safe.

  33. There is a story in the book of Exodus chapter 12,

    Exodus 12 chapter mention

  34. a story about the Passover and how that came about.

  35. Incidentally, were we having a communion service today,

  36. much of what we do in that communion service comes from the celebration of the Passover in Judaism.

  37. In Exodus 12, we're told that on the 14th day of Nisan,

  38. that's nothing to do with cars,

  39. it's a month in the Jewish calendar,

  40. that they were supposed to take a lamb without blemish,

  41. and at twilight, they were to kill it.

  42. And then they were to take some of the blood

  43. and smear it on the doorways of their homes.

  44. So that when the Lord decided he'd had enough of the Egyptians

  45. and that he would wipe out their children,

  46. I know this is, you know, scary stuff in a way,

  47. that those lintels, door lintels,

  48. which had blood on them,

  49. would be overlooked by the angel of death.

  50. God kept his people.

  51. In Numbers chapter 6 and verse 24,

    Numbers 6 chapter mention

  52. we read those wonderful words that very often occur

  53. in our contemporary church today as a blessing.

  54. The Lord bless you and keep you.

  55. I imagine that you do want to be kept.

  56. I can't imagine there'll be anybody in here who doesn't want that.

  57. But then there's our experience.

  58. One of the best-selling books ever was a book by Rabbi Harold Kushner.

  59. To be honest, I think the title sold the book rather than the content.

  60. It was called,

  61. What Happens When Bad Things Happen to Good People?

  62. I mean, that is such a great question, isn't it?

  63. Suffering is a mystery for us.

  64. We don't understand why some stuff happens.

  65. And although we legitimately ask the question,

  66. sadly, there are some answers that are unavailable to us.

  67. I'm imagining in a congregation this size,

  68. there are people here who have questions about what's happened to them in their life.

  69. And might almost be offended by the very topic that the Lord will keep you.

  70. Some of you who think to yourselves,

  71. when things go bad in your life,

  72. why me?

  73. How dare we assert that God will keep us strong and keep us when there's so much bad stuff going on

  74. in many people's lives?

  75. And maybe especially in the lives of committed disciples.

  76. Before I answer that question,

  77. I want to just tell you what this promise of God to keep us doesn't mean.

  78. I want you to think for a moment about the insurance business.

  79. It's based on a very simple and interesting idea that risk can be assessed

  80. and then priced, monetized, and in return for the payment of a premium,

  81. which we all think is too much, obviously,

  82. in return for payment of a premium,

  83. we can have some kind of assurance

  84. that if something goes wrong with our car or with our washing machine

  85. or with our health,

  86. our costs will be covered.

  87. You would be surprised, I think,

  88. to know about some of the risks

  89. that you can insure against these days.

  90. Let me tell you three.

  91. One,

  92. you can insure against damage caused by a ghost.

  93. I'll say that again.

  94. You can insure against damage caused by a ghost.

  95. I have to say,

  96. I think my children damaged far more when they were young

  97. than a ghost ever did.

  98. Second thing is,

  99. you can insure yourself against being hit by an asteroid.

  100. The third thing is,

  101. you can insure yourself against being kidnapped

  102. by extraterrestrials.

  103. I did actually sit next to a lady on a train once

  104. who told me that she had been abducted by extraterrestrials

  105. who had made her pregnant

  106. and she'd given birth to a child who was a genius.

  107. The Lord's promise to keep us

  108. is not like an insurance policy.

  109. Let me say that again.

  110. The Lord's promise to keep us

  111. is not like an insurance policy.

  112. In Matthew chapter 5,

    Matthew 5 chapter mention

  113. Jesus says this to the crowds,

  114. He causes His Son to rise on the evil and the good

  115. and sends rain on the righteous

  116. and the unrighteousness.

  117. Don't think that faith in God

  118. will keep you from anything going wrong in your life.

  119. In fact,

  120. if you read books about the history of the saints,

  121. you will find out that they had to endure

  122. the most horrific things

  123. and it was the fact that they prevailed

  124. despite the suffering in their lives

  125. that got them into stained glass windows.

  126. I think that is an amazing truth.

  127. The truth is

  128. that God will not cover you

  129. in a sense that nothing will ever go wrong in your life,

  130. but when it goes wrong,

  131. He will give you the strength to prevail.

  132. Somebody once said that suffering does two things.

  133. It either makes you a stronger person

  134. or it destroys you.

  135. One of the things we can say is

  136. that God will keep His people

  137. from being destroyed by suffering.

  138. And of course,

  139. come to this in a moment,

  140. God will also

  141. give us a life for eternity.

  142. St. Paul understood all this

  143. only too well.

  144. I mean,

  145. St. Paul,

  146. you know,

  147. who we see in stained glass windows,

  148. great hero of the church.

  149. When his apostleship

  150. was under threat

  151. in the Corinthian church,

  152. he wrote this.

  153. This is like

  154. Paul's vindication.

  155. I always think it's a

  156. helpful thing for those

  157. who are Christians

  158. to establish

  159. where our security lies.

  160. I mean,

  161. Paul could have given you

  162. a great

  163. lecture on his academic background

  164. or his kind of

  165. cosmopolitan background.

  166. This is how he justifies

  167. his apostleship.

  168. Comparing himself

  169. with some of the Christians

  170. in the congregation

  171. in Corinth

  172. who doubted

  173. that Paul was a genuine apostle.

  174. He says this,

  175. Are they servants of Christ?

  176. And then,

  177. as a kind of a side thought,

  178. he says,

  179. Am I out of my mind

  180. to talk like this?

  181. He goes on,

  182. I am more.

  183. I have worked much harder,

  184. been imprisoned more frequently,

  185. been flogged more severely,

  186. and been exposed to death

  187. again and again.

  188. Five times I received

  189. from the Jews

  190. the 40 lashes minus one.

  191. Three times I was beaten with rods.

  192. Once I was pelted with stones.

  193. Three times I was shipwrecked.

  194. I spent a day and night

  195. in the open sea.

  196. I have been constantly on the move.

  197. I have been in danger from rivers,

  198. in danger from bandits,

  199. in danger from my fellow Jews,

  200. in danger from Gentiles,

  201. in danger in the city,

  202. in danger in the country,

  203. in danger at sea,

  204. and in danger from false believers.

  205. What an amazing way

  206. to claim your apostleship.

  207. He claimed his apostleship

  208. not on the basis of,

  209. I've absolutely cruised through life

  210. since I gave my life to Jesus Christ.

  211. Quite the contrary.

  212. I mean, Paul might have said,

  213. actually,

  214. becoming a follower of Jesus

  215. was the start of my problems.

  216. Some of you all might be thinking

  217. that just now.

  218. That would suggest to me, however,

  219. that when the Bible speaks

  220. of God keeping us,

  221. it can't mean

  222. that we should be shielded

  223. from any and everything

  224. that might go wrong

  225. in this life.

  226. Let me remind you of our text.

  227. He will keep you strong to the end

  228. so that you will be blameless

  229. on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  230. See, what I think this keeping means

  231. is more like God prevailing

  232. or helping us to prevail in our lives

  233. irrespective of what happens to us.

  234. Scholars say the idea of God's keeping us

  235. is eschatological.

  236. Make sure you've got your teeth in firmly

  237. before you try and say that.

  238. Eschatology is the study

  239. of the end of times.

  240. And I think what Paul is trying

  241. to reassure people is

  242. that whatever happens to you

  243. in this life,

  244. you will be kept

  245. for that time

  246. when the Lord returns,

  247. when you die

  248. or the Lord returns.

  249. It's about God's ultimate purpose

  250. for you

  251. as his child

  252. and his disciple.

  253. You are being kept

  254. for eternity.

  255. How did Paul get perspective

  256. on all that went wrong

  257. in his life?

  258. He wrote two things

  259. that are really important for us.

  260. Especially those,

  261. especially those of you

  262. who are going through

  263. a hard time right now.

  264. Paul knew

  265. that God would give him

  266. the strength to prevail

  267. whatever happened to him.

  268. But secondly,

  269. Paul also believed

  270. in his heart

  271. that whatever happened

  272. in this life

  273. was always going to be

  274. a worse version of his life

  275. than the life he would receive

  276. in eternity

  277. by being a follower of Jesus.

  278. He wrote this in Romans chapter 18

  279. in verse 8.

  280. I consider that our presence

  281. sufferings

  282. are not worth comparing

  283. with the glory

  284. that will be revealed in us.

  285. Are you looking forward to that?

  286. Are you looking forward

  287. to that glory

  288. which Scripture says

  289. will be revealed in you

  290. if you trust Jesus Christ?

  291. So what can we say

  292. about this keeping?

  293. the first thing is

  294. I'm sorry if this is a bit blunt

  295. but God will keep you

  296. from a Christless eternity

  297. if you are a disciple of his.

  298. There's been much debate

  299. throughout the ages

  300. as to whether

  301. if you are a Christian

  302. whether you can ever

  303. forfeit your salvation.

  304. that's an interesting question

  305. it's a good question

  306. most of the scholars

  307. are agreed

  308. though sometimes

  309. for slightly different reasons

  310. that if you genuinely

  311. made a commitment

  312. to Jesus Christ

  313. you cannot

  314. forfeit

  315. your salvation.

  316. in the book of Hebrews

  317. there's a very interesting passage

  318. which the scholars

  319. have gone to town on

  320. where the Lord says this

  321. it is impossible

  322. for those who have

  323. once been enlightened

  324. who have tasted

  325. the heavenly gift

  326. who have shared

  327. in the Holy Spirit

  328. who have tasted

  329. the goodness

  330. of the word of God

  331. and the powers

  332. of the coming age

  333. if they fall away

  334. to be brought back

  335. to repentance

  336. because

  337. to their loss

  338. they are crucifying

  339. the Son of God

  340. all over again.

  341. What that means is

  342. and this is a big problem

  343. for the Anglican church friends

  344. it means that

  345. those of you

  346. who sit in church

  347. Sunday by Sunday

  348. familiar with the title deeds

  349. of the Christian faith

  350. but actually haven't made

  351. that leap of faith

  352. Paul

  353. sorry

  354. the writer of the epistle

  355. to the Hebrews

  356. is asking a question

  357. about that.

  358. A big problem

  359. in the church of England

  360. is cultural Christianity

  361. people who think

  362. they're showing up

  363. in church

  364. on a regular basis

  365. will see them home

  366. which is obviously

  367. logically not correct

  368. anybody can come

  369. into church

  370. as far as I know

  371. one of you

  372. might be

  373. one of the most

  374. articulate

  375. and great atheists

  376. that ever stalked the earth

  377. nobody checked out

  378. when you came in

  379. I hope

  380. no

  381. you will be saved

  382. from a Christless eternity

  383. if you accept

  384. Christ as Lord

  385. and believe

  386. that God

  387. raised him

  388. from the dead

  389. the big problem

  390. came up in

  391. some of the

  392. worship songs

  393. and hymns

  394. we sung this morning

  395. is that we always

  396. want to demote

  397. the concept of sin

  398. in our lives

  399. a great way

  400. of doing that

  401. is to compare yourself

  402. with other people

  403. well I might not

  404. be perfect

  405. but I know somebody

  406. who's a lot worse

  407. than me

  408. of course you do

  409. I mean you might

  410. have to

  411. drag the bottom

  412. of the barrel

  413. and come up with

  414. names like Adolf Hitler

  415. or

  416. my granny

  417. used to say

  418. comparisons

  419. are odious

  420. I have no idea

  421. whether it's God's

  422. plan this morning

  423. in this place

  424. to reveal himself

  425. to you

  426. in such a way

  427. that you make

  428. that step of faith

  429. that you repent

  430. of your sin

  431. because sin

  432. has terrible consequences

  433. you haven't got to

  434. open a newspaper

  435. to see that

  436. but it has

  437. destructive

  438. consequences

  439. in your life

  440. as well

  441. it creates

  442. a blockage

  443. in your relationship

  444. with God

  445. and it also

  446. very often

  447. creates terrible

  448. trouble here on

  449. earth

  450. in our relationships

  451. here

  452. what was it

  453. Paul wrote

  454. the wages

  455. of sin

  456. is death

  457. but the gift

  458. of God

  459. is eternal

  460. life

  461. in union

  462. with Christ

  463. Jesus

  464. you can't

  465. earn that

  466. salvation

  467. you can't

  468. buy it

  469. in fact

  470. there is

  471. nothing

  472. that you can

  473. do to save

  474. yourself

  475. I used to

  476. have a doctrine

  477. in the church

  478. of England

  479. which preachers

  480. preached on

  481. regularly

  482. I've done it

  483. myself

  484. it was called

  485. the doctrine

  486. of the total

  487. depravity

  488. of humanity

  489. I imagine

  490. if you put

  491. that

  492. you know

  493. today's sermon

  494. of depravity

  495. of humanity

  496. on the door

  497. I can't imagine

  498. there would be

  499. that many people

  500. packing the way

  501. in

  502. you cannot

  503. save yourself

  504. you can sit

  505. there for

  506. decades

  507. I inherited

  508. a church

  509. in Buckinghamshire

  510. which had a

  511. membership

  512. of 350

  513. people

  514. I reckon

  515. that a good

  516. many of them

  517. and the

  518. evidence for

  519. that was that

  520. many of them

  521. did make the

  522. leap of faith

  523. many of them

  524. were just

  525. cultural

  526. Christians

  527. generally

  528. assented to

  529. the moral

  530. truth that

  531. Jesus Christ

  532. taught

  533. but they're

  534. not in a

  535. relationship

  536. with him

  537. John Wesley

  538. when he was

  539. preaching about

  540. the almost

  541. Christian

  542. said the

  543. almost

  544. Christians

  545. got some

  546. wonderful

  547. aspects to

  548. their life

  549. they're

  550. pillars of

  551. the local

  552. community

  553. excellent

  554. people

  555. one thing

  556. they lack

  557. they don't

  558. love

  559. God

  560. I wonder

  561. John Wesley

  562. was standing

  563. here today

  564. I wish he

  565. could

  566. how many

  567. of us

  568. would be

  569. found out

  570. by that

  571. very simple

  572. idea

  573. and the

  574. thing is

  575. you can

  576. do something

  577. about that

  578. any time

  579. second

  580. thing is

  581. you will

  582. be kept

  583. from the

  584. consequences

  585. of your

  586. sin

  587. I think I

  588. said enough

  589. about that

  590. but the

  591. wages of

  592. sin is

  593. death

  594. if you

  595. do not

  596. come to

  597. Christ

  598. in faith

  599. if you

  600. do not

  601. accept

  602. his

  603. atoning

  604. work

  605. on the

  606. cross

  607. of

  608. Calvary

  609. if you

  610. do not

  611. believe

  612. that God

  613. raised him

  614. from the

  615. dead

  616. then death

  617. death my

  618. my friend

  619. will be for

  620. you a brick

  621. wall

  622. you will be

  623. kept

  624. from the

  625. consequences

  626. of your

  627. sin if you

  628. trust Christ

  629. and you

  630. will be

  631. kept

  632. for an

  633. existence

  634. that is

  635. way beyond

  636. anything

  637. that you

  638. could ever

  639. dare to

  640. ask or

  641. imagine

  642. it's what

  643. we call

  644. heaven

  645. very difficult

  646. for us to

  647. imagine what

  648. infinite happiness

  649. might look

  650. like

  651. it's even

  652. harder to

  653. believe isn't

  654. it what

  655. worshipping

  656. together might

  657. be like in

  658. heaven

  659. it's going to

  660. be a big

  661. row at the

  662. gate you know

  663. we're going to

  664. do the book

  665. of common

  666. prayer or

  667. shall we do

  668. common worship

  669. or shall we

  670. go Pentecost

  671. what

  672. I have no

  673. idea

  674. but I

  675. know that

  676. it is a

  677. place where

  678. as the

  679. writer of

  680. the book

  681. of Revelation

  682. John the

  683. divine wrote

  684. he will wipe

  685. away every

  686. tear from

  687. our eyes

  688. there will be

  689. no more

  690. death or

  691. mourning or

  692. crying or

  693. pain for

  694. the old

  695. order of

  696. things has

  697. passed

  698. away

  699. imagine

  700. there's going

  701. to be a

  702. place for

  703. those of

  704. you who

  705. hold on

  706. to Jesus

  707. that you

  708. cannot

  709. imagine

  710. how amazing

  711. it will

  712. be

  713. it will

  714. be a

  715. place where

  716. you will

  717. receive a

  718. resurrection

  719. body

  720. God knows

  721. I need

  722. that

  723. and you

  724. will live

  725. face to

  726. face with

  727. the living

  728. God

  729. for

  730. eternity

  731. I

  732. prepared this

  733. sermon

  734. with a

  735. note of

  736. personal

  737. potential

  738. tragedy that

  739. happened in

  740. the life of

  741. my family

  742. this last

  743. week

  744. my healthy

  745. son-in-law

  746. Joel who's a

  747. minister in

  748. Bognor Regis

  749. suddenly

  750. became very

  751. very seriously

  752. ill

  753. it was

  754. scary how

  755. quickly it

  756. came upon

  757. him

  758. his blood

  759. saturation

  760. levels were

  761. dangerously

  762. low so he

  763. was blue

  764. lighted to

  765. St.

  766. Richard's

  767. hospital in

  768. Chichester

  769. still there

  770. but he's

  771. getting better

  772. someone say

  773. praise God

  774. and he's

  775. no longer

  776. on oxygen

  777. and for a

  778. moment you

  779. kind of

  780. waver around

  781. that question

  782. what does

  783. it mean to

  784. say God

  785. will keep

  786. you

  787. well Joel

  788. knows and

  789. I know

  790. should know

  791. better that

  792. what God

  793. will keep

  794. Joel for

  795. whatever

  796. happens to

  797. him is

  798. he will be

  799. kept for

  800. eternity

  801. because he

  802. knows Jesus

  803. he will be

  804. kept from

  805. the consequences

  806. of his sin

  807. because he

  808. knows and

  809. loves Jesus

  810. and he will

  811. be saved

  812. for eternity

  813. friends it's a

  814. wonderful thing

  815. when I have to

  816. take a funeral

  817. and I can

  818. affirm because

  819. the person in

  820. the box is a

  821. Christian

  822. the faith that

  823. sustained them

  824. in this life

  825. will sustain

  826. them into

  827. eternity

  828. wouldn't you

  829. want that

  830. wouldn't you

  831. want to stop

  832. just sitting

  833. there warming

  834. the well we

  835. don't even have

  836. pews here

  837. warming the

  838. already warm

  839. seats here

  840. and just

  841. make that

  842. leap of

  843. faith

  844. trust Jesus

  845. Jesus

  846. who gave

  847. his life

  848. that you

  849. may get

  850. yours back

  851. Jesus

  852. who hung

  853. on a

  854. cross

  855. in

  856. abject

  857. pain

  858. that our

  859. sins

  860. might be

  861. atoned

  862. for

  863. Jesus

  864. who rose

  865. from the

  866. dead

  867. and is

  868. alive in

  869. the power

  870. of his

  871. Holy Spirit

  872. and right

  873. now

  874. is here in

  875. this church

  876. with us

  877. so I've

  878. said before

  879. from this

  880. very podium

  881. the Bible

  882. ultimately

  883. offers two

  884. kinds of

  885. life

  886. a worldly

  887. life

  888. or a

  889. heavenly

  890. life

  891. I can't

  892. make you

  893. choose either

  894. but I

  895. pray

  896. maybe today

  897. you will

  898. choose the

  899. life of

  900. heaven

  901. because you

  902. can celebrate

  903. the fact

  904. that Paul

  905. in his

  906. epistle

  907. promises us

  908. promises you

  909. he'll keep

  910. you strong

  911. to the end

  912. if you trust

  913. him

  914. so that you

  915. will be

  916. blameless

  917. blameless

  918. on the day

  919. of our

  920. Lord Jesus

  921. Christ

  922. at the end

  923. of this

  924. service we

  925. have some

  926. prayer teams

  927. who will be

  928. around the

  929. front of the

  930. church

  931. and look

  932. here's the

  933. thing

  934. it is so

  935. not like

  936. us isn't

  937. it to

  938. kind of do

  939. that and

  940. come and

  941. pray and

  942. maybe other

  943. people we

  944. feel are

  945. looking at

  946. us in

  947. isn't it

  948. worth just

  949. swallowing your

  950. pride for

  951. one moment

  952. and taking

  953. a step

  954. a step

  955. of faith

  956. that you

  957. might know

  958. the assurance

  959. that you'll

  960. save for

  961. eternity

  962. John

  963. in his

  964. epistle

  965. said this

  966. chapter 5

  967. these things

  968. are written

  969. that you

  970. may know

  971. that you

  972. have eternal

  973. life

  974. not that you

  975. may keep

  976. your fingers

  977. crossed and

  978. hope

  979. but that you

  980. may know

  981. it's what we

  982. call a

  983. doctrine

  984. of assurance

  985. I would love

  986. that for

  987. every soul

  988. in this

  989. church

  990. let's pray

  991. our gracious

  992. father we

  993. thank you for

  994. the promise

  995. that you

  996. will keep

  997. us and we

  998. apologize

  999. for the way

  1000. in which

  1001. that can

  1002. really affect

  1003. our faith

  1004. when bad

  1005. things happen

  1006. to good

  1007. people

  1008. and lord I

  1009. want to pray

  1010. for anybody

  1011. in church

  1012. this morning

  1013. who is

  1014. going through

  1015. a really

  1016. hard time

  1017. please lord

  1018. would you

  1019. come to

  1020. them afresh

  1021. and help

  1022. them to

  1023. know that

  1024. if they

  1025. cling

  1026. on to

  1027. you

  1028. they will

  1029. prevail

  1030. whatever the

  1031. outcome

  1032. they will

  1033. hold

  1034. together

  1035. and lord

  1036. we thank

  1037. you

  1038. that you

  1039. keep us

  1040. in the

  1041. sense that

  1042. nothing

  1043. that this

  1044. life can

  1045. throw at

  1046. us

  1047. will stop

  1048. us

  1049. loving you

  1050. and in

  1051. the end

  1052. receiving

  1053. your amazing

  1054. gift

  1055. of eternal

  1056. life

  1057. lord I

  1058. pray now

  1059. that in

  1060. the power

  1061. of your

  1062. holy spirit

  1063. to anybody

  1064. who doesn't

  1065. have that

  1066. assurance

  1067. anybody

  1068. who is

  1069. worried about

  1070. their salvation

  1071. father god

  1072. I pray

  1073. that you

  1074. would reveal

  1075. yourself

  1076. afresh to

  1077. them

  1078. lord that

  1079. they may

  1080. know that

  1081. they are

  1082. saved

  1083. and saved

  1084. for eternity

  1085. and lord we

  1086. pray these

  1087. things not

  1088. because we

  1089. have any

  1090. great merit

  1091. but because

  1092. we bring

  1093. them in

  1094. the name

  1095. of our

  1096. lord jesus

  1097. christ

  1098. and the

  1099. people who

  1100. agreed said

  1101. together

  1102. amen
