  1. Thank you, Ron. Appreciate that this morning. Go ahead and take your Bible, turn to John 15 this morning. John 15 as we continue with our series here going through John 15. Here the first part anyways is we look at abiding. You know, abiding in the Lord and as John reveals that the true vine and the husbandman are key in abiding.

  2. And we need to remember that the husbandman is the one responsible for the care of the branches. He's the one that prunes. He's the one that cleans. That they might do what? Bring forth much fruit. You know, to bring forth the fruit that God has designed for every believer to produce.

  3. You know, the day that you called upon the Savior to save you, it changed everything. It changed who you are fundamentally. It says we're a new creature in Christ and we've been put in the vine and we're attached to it.

  4. And yet we understand the importance of abiding in the vine because that fruit is what is the result of abiding. You know, I believe there's a lot of Christians today that don't have very good fruit in their life because they're not abiding in the vine.

  5. They talk about the vine. They talk about the vine. They talk about the vine. They talk about the vine and we're going to talk about that today.

  6. They might know about the vine, but they're not abiding in the vine because there's a difference and Jesus is going to bring that forth here today as he is encouraging his men to understand this principle because Jesus moves from the focus upon himself, the vine, to the vineyard, to the others standing in it.

  7. He commands them to abide. He now tells them what abiding looks like among people who can sometimes be difficult to love.

  8. You know, one of the problems is, is that sometimes we can talk about loving the Savior, but when he commands us to love others, to love other believers, that gets a lot tougher.

  9. That becomes a difficulty for us because, you know, we know that some people are easier to love than others.

  10. You know, some people are just prickly, you know, and some people are just mushy, you know.

  11. You got both ends of the spectrum that might cause difficulty to love, you know, and to do what you ought to do because love is not an emotion.

  12. We need to understand when Jesus tells him to love one another, he's not talking about emotion the way we address love today.

  13. When we hear the word love today, almost every time it attracts with an emotion.

  14. Love, biblically, that Jesus is talking about here, has emotion attached to it, but emotion is secondary to the responsibility.

  15. Because love is a course and choice of action towards another.

  16. Love is a dynamic that's different.

  17. And I want you to understand this morning as we look at this, this was, Jesus was worried about his disciples, his apostles, the 11 that were there with them.

  18. If you know anything and have studied your Bible, you find out that they were quite a different group of people.

  19. I imagine that some of their conversations got a bit prickly sometimes.

  20. Because they came from a lot of different backgrounds.

  21. Jesus drew them in, everything from fishermen to tax collectors.

  22. Ends of the political spectrum.

  23. But yet they were no longer what they were, they're now a new creature in Christ.

  24. And we need to keep that in focus even here today.

  25. Because when we understand who we are in Christ, unites us more than the things of this world divides us.

  26. To understand the importance of this and the great uniter is the message of redemption and service to the Savior.

  27. You know, we've been looking through here of this series, talking about this thought where the branch stays, the branch bears.

  28. You know, if you stay abiding in Christ, it makes a difference on what the fruit that's produced.

  29. When we understand that concept that Jesus is driving home to his disciples,

  30. and the result of this fruit is love for others, love for the branches beside you.

  31. So before we read the text this morning, I want you to settle one question with you.

  32. Which are you in Christ?

  33. Are you an acquaintance of Christ or a friend of Christ?

  34. I want you to think about that for a moment.

  35. Because we're going to talk about the difference between an acquaintance and a friend a little later on.

  36. And when we understand that, but an acquaintance knows about him, a friend is known by him.

  37. So think for a moment as we read these verses.

  38. If you found John chapter 15, if you would stand and honor the reading of the Word of God,

    John 15 chapter mention

  39. we'll pick up here in verse 12.

  40. And then we'll read through verse 15.

  41. And then we will pray.

  42. But I want you to think about what Jesus is saying and how it applies to you.

  43. Think about this.

  44. In verse 12 it says,

  45. This is my commandment, that ye love one another as I have loved you.

  46. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

  47. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

  48. Henceforth I call you not servants, for the servant knoweth not what his Lord doeth.

  49. But I have called you friends for all things that I have heard of my Father,

  50. I have made known unto you.

  51. Let's pray.

  52. Heavenly Fathers, we just come before you this morning, Lord.

  53. We just thank you that you are a friend to us.

  54. But Lord, help us to understand the importance that it's more than us just knowing about you,

  55. but it's been known by you that makes a difference.

  56. To really be a friend, to know and to understand those things that you would want for us,

  57. the things you've revealed to us.

  58. Lord, I pray just encourage us today.

  59. Each one, Lord, you know the need.

  60. Lord, we know that oftentimes it's hard to really love the brethren the way you commanded us,

  61. instruct us, Lord.

  62. Oftentimes we treat it as secondary.

  63. But Lord, help us to see today that it's not a secondary choice that we make,

  64. but a primary dynamic of obeying you.

  65. And Lord, we just ask these things here in your precious name.

  66. Amen.

  67. You may be seated.

  68. You know, I want you to see here.

  69. Notice the commandment.

  70. You know, a commandment is not an option.

  71. You know, today we look at some of the things God commands us to do,

  72. and we say, well, if that's convenient, I'll do it.

  73. But a commandment is not an optional thing.

  74. When you understand that the moment you were saved,

  75. if you love the Savior, you're going to keep his commandments.

  76. That's an underlying theme Jesus is driving to his disciples here,

  77. to understand that the apostles needed to hear

  78. and to understand the need to love one another.

  79. Because you say, preacher, why was that such an important?

  80. You know what?

  81. Jesus knew they were going to go under a lot of stress here very shortly.

  82. They were going to be put under a lot of pressure.

  83. When he died and was buried, there was a lot of pressure.

  84. Look who you believed in.

  85. Look at what you thought.

  86. Look at where the one you thought was the Savior ended up.

  87. And the third day he rose again.

  88. Then it changes everything else again.

  89. But it doesn't change the commandment to love one another

  90. because, you know, it's easy to do something short-term.

  91. You know what's hard to do?

  92. Something long-term.

  93. Faithfulness is more difficult than just being fickle in the moment.

  94. Because we can feign excitement for a while.

  95. But faithfulness is something that endures even when it's not comfortable.

  96. That's the hard part, I think, for all of us, isn't it?

  97. We like to be comfortable.

  98. Don't push me outside my envelope.

  99. But if we're going to follow Jesus' commands,

  100. you know what's going to happen?

  101. You're going to be outside your comfort zone.

  102. It's going to take you places that you never understood that God would take you.

  103. And notice what he says here.

  104. That you love one another as I have loved you.

  105. You know, think about that moment.

  106. Consider what that pictures.

  107. Consider the picture that is there.

  108. The picture that Jesus is saying,

  109. I want you to love others as I have loved you.

  110. We've heard it many times.

  111. But have you really thought about it?

  112. Have you really taken time to process what does that look like?

  113. What did he do for us?

  114. Because when Jesus says to love others as I have loved you,

  115. he's talking about a sacrificial, committed love.

  116. You know, look over to 1 John.

  117. 1 John chapter 3, it says this,

    1 John 3 chapter mention

  118. Hereby perceive we the love of God,

  119. because he laid down his life for us.

  120. We ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

  121. We perceive the love of Christ.

  122. Why?

  123. Because of what he was willing to give for us.

  124. Think about Ephesians chapter 5.

    Ephesians 5 chapter mention

  125. It says,

  126. To walk in love as Christ also loved us,

  127. and hath given himself for us,

  128. an offering and sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor.

  129. You know why it's a sweet-smelling savor?

  130. Because we're being obedient to God.

  131. We're showing that we love him.

  132. You know, Romans, Paul commands the church at Rome to do this.

  133. He says,

  134. Be kindly, affectionate one to another,

  135. with brotherly love,

  136. in honor, preferring one another.

  137. To love one another is shown

  138. when you love those that can be hard to love.

  139. This instruction is not towards the lost,

  140. but towards other believers.

  141. I want you to understand,

  142. when you read the Bible,

  143. it has to be in context.

  144. A lot of times people will take this verse,

  145. Oh, you're supposed to love everybody.

  146. That's not who Jesus,

  147. the group Jesus is talking about specifically here.

  148. When you are supposed to love those in the world,

  149. that the primary responsibility of love

  150. is to tell them who Jesus is

  151. and the responsibility

  152. that they're going to stand in judgment before him.

  153. That's loving somebody

  154. when you tell them how to get out of danger.

  155. But what he's talking about here is different.

  156. He's talking about a love one for another,

  157. a bond that binds together.

  158. You say,

  159. Well, preacher, what are you talking about?

  160. Even the little things.

  161. Have you ever considered

  162. what the room must have been like

  163. when Thomas came back after Jesus resurrected?

  164. You know,

  165. when Thomas comes back into the room

  166. after Jesus had visited,

  167. and Thomas looks at everybody and says,

  168. I think you're lying.

  169. That's really the summation

  170. of what Thomas told all the other apostles.

  171. I don't believe you.

  172. Think that'd be a tense moment?

  173. To understand,

  174. Hey,

  175. love one another.

  176. Even when things aren't the way

  177. you perceive they ought to be.

  178. When he questioned their report,

  179. how about later

  180. when Peter was corrected by Paul?

  181. That functioning throughout.

  182. You think about when John Mark

  183. was taken along by Barnabas

  184. because Paul wouldn't let him go.

  185. And later on,

  186. you find that Paul,

  187. I think God got a hold of Paul's heart

  188. and he said,

  189. Love one another.

  190. And he said,

  191. Bring Mark.

  192. Because Mark had made some changes

  193. in his life.

  194. And he said,

  195. Forget those things.

  196. You've got to forgive.

  197. You've got to forbear.

  198. You've got to do the things

  199. you are supposed to do

  200. when somebody,

  201. even they might mess up,

  202. to be able to repent

  203. and to turn back to him

  204. and to get things right.

  205. To understand the importance.

  206. And this love wears many faces

  207. amongst believers

  208. because it bears the burden

  209. of one in trouble.

  210. You know,

  211. Galatians tells us,

  212. Bear you one another's burdens

  213. and so fulfill the law of Christ.

  214. It opens the hands

  215. to those in real need.

  216. Whosoever had this world's goods

  217. and sees his brother have need

  218. and shutteth up his bowels

  219. of compassion from him.

  220. Now dwelleth the,

  221. how dwelleth the love of God

  222. in him?

  223. That's what 1 John 3 tells us.

  224. It bears patiently

  225. with difficulty.

  226. You know,

  227. Ephesians 4, 2 tells us

  228. of forbearing one another

  229. in love.

  230. Have you ever thought

  231. the word forbearing

  232. involves somebody else

  233. being prickly to you?

  234. It doesn't mean

  235. that your buddy

  236. that's just all,

  237. yeah, we love hanging out

  238. is somebody that might be

  239. even a little prickly

  240. that's a believer

  241. to understand

  242. how do you love them?

  243. Because I want you to understand

  244. God's working on them

  245. as much as he's working on you.

  246. Now maybe you say,

  247. well, I don't know anybody prickly.

  248. Well, maybe you're prickly.

  249. When we understand

  250. that it takes a lot

  251. to love and serve

  252. one another

  253. as Galatians tells us,

  254. every one of these

  255. is what the commandment

  256. looks like

  257. on an ordinary

  258. daily and weekly

  259. and monthly

  260. and yearly level.

  261. To understand this picture,

  262. he's given us the commandment.

  263. He shows us

  264. its measure.

  265. If we are to love

  266. as I have loved you,

  267. we need to ask

  268. how far that love

  269. was willing to go.

  270. Think about the measure

  271. of his love.

  272. The measure of his love.

  273. He says,

  274. greater love

  275. hath no man than this,

  276. than lay down his life

  277. for his friends.

  278. Think about it.

  279. That's a measurement of love.

  280. You know,

  281. I want you to understand

  282. a friend

  283. is willing to put

  284. another's need

  285. above his own.

  286. Go ahead and turn

  287. over to 1 Samuel chapter 18.

    1 Samuel 18 chapter mention

  288. 1 Samuel chapter 18

    1 Samuel 18 chapter mention

  289. quick this morning

  290. as we get there.

  291. But I want you to understand,

  292. I want you to see

  293. in Philippians,

  294. I'm going to set the stage here.

  295. In Philippians chapter 2,

    Philippians 2 chapter mention

  296. it talks about Christ

  297. and his humility

  298. and how he came

  299. and he was willingly

  300. went to the cross

  301. for us.

  302. How he humbled himself

  303. and put on a form

  304. of a servant.

  305. Now you find here

  306. in 1 Samuel chapter 18,

    1 Samuel 18 chapter mention

  307. we're going to find

  308. two men here,

  309. Jonathan and David.

  310. I want you to understand,

  311. David was a shepherd,

  312. the boy who had just

  313. killed Goliath,

  314. a nobody from Bethlehem

  315. with no throne

  316. and no claim to it

  317. and Jonathan

  318. was the king's son.

  319. He was heir

  320. to the throne of Israel.

  321. Their friendship,

  322. Jonathan,

  323. had everything to lose

  324. and David

  325. had everything to gain.

  326. But yet,

  327. they were still friends.

  328. Notice what it tells us here

  329. in verse 1.

  330. It came to pass

  331. when he made an end

  332. of speaking unto Saul

  333. that the soul of Jonathan

  334. was knit with the soul of David

  335. and Jonathan loved him

  336. as his own soul.

  337. In other words,

  338. I want you to understand,

  339. he says,

  340. hey,

  341. he is my friend.

  342. It took a lot

  343. when we look at

  344. what happens next

  345. for what Jonathan did.

  346. He displayed

  347. what loving my friend

  348. looks like.

  349. But I want you to understand

  350. the disparity.

  351. David was from

  352. the lowest of society.

  353. Jonathan was from

  354. the highest of society.

  355. You know what bound

  356. these two guys together?

  357. You ever ask that question,

  358. what bound Jonathan to David?

  359. He never actually comes out

  360. and just tells us,

  361. but the implication is,

  362. is they both loved God

  363. above all else.

  364. They saw that in one another

  365. and said,

  366. hey,

  367. that's somebody

  368. I want to be a friend with.

  369. Notice what happens here.

  370. It says,

  371. and Saul took him that day

  372. and would let him

  373. go no more home

  374. to his father's house

  375. and Jonathan

  376. and David made a covenant

  377. because he loved him

  378. as his own soul.

  379. I want you to see here,

  380. notice what happens

  381. in verse four.

  382. And Jonathan stripped himself

  383. of the robe

  384. that was upon him

  385. and gave it to David

  386. and his garments

  387. even to his sword

  388. and to his bow

  389. and to his girdle.

  390. I want you to understand,

  391. Jonathan,

  392. the crown prince

  393. said,

  394. David loves God

  395. as I,

  396. we're friends,

  397. I'm going to honor him

  398. by giving him

  399. exactly the highest thing

  400. he could give him.

  401. To represent that picture,

  402. he was willing to give

  403. of himself

  404. for his friend.

  405. He was willing to give

  406. for his friend.

  407. Sword,

  408. the bow,

  409. were the marks

  410. of a prince

  411. and a warrior.

  412. He strips off

  413. everything

  414. that said,

  415. I am the heir

  416. and hands him

  417. to the one man alive

  418. that would one day

  419. sit on the throne

  420. that by birth

  421. belonged to him.

  422. He knew it too.

  423. It tells us later

  424. in 1 Samuel 23,

  425. he tells David this,

  426. he says,

  427. thou shalt be king

  428. over Israel

  429. and I shall be next

  430. unto thee.

  431. Jonathan is a picture

  432. of what Jesus Christ

  433. does for us.

  434. He humbled himself

  435. for the benefit

  436. of another.

  437. He did not have to,

  438. it did not require him to,

  439. what motivated him

  440. was love

  441. for his friend.

  442. When you go on

  443. and read,

  444. you'll find that

  445. Jonathan

  446. chose his friend

  447. over his position.

  448. He risked his life

  449. to save David's life.

  450. That's what Jesus

  451. is describing.

  452. A friend puts

  453. another's need

  454. above his own.

  455. You know,

  456. Philippians 2,

  457. 3 says this,

  458. let nothing be done

  459. through strife

  460. or vainglory,

  461. but in lowliness

  462. of mind

  463. let each esteem

  464. other better

  465. than themselves.

  466. You don't think

  467. anybody can argue

  468. that Jonathan

  469. esteemed David

  470. better than himself.

  471. He lifted up David,

  472. his friend,

  473. better than himself.

  474. Jonathan handed

  475. over the very thing

  476. that marked him

  477. as the king's son

  478. and the heir

  479. to the throne.

  480. That is a life

  481. laid down

  482. while a man

  483. is yet living.

  484. God does not ask

  485. you to die

  486. for the one

  487. beside you.

  488. How often would

  489. you lay down

  490. your time

  491. to give him

  492. what is your right?

  493. Today I think

  494. as Americans

  495. we struggle.

  496. Well, I have a right.

  497. Well,

  498. just because you can

  499. doesn't mean

  500. you should.

  501. Just because you can

  502. doesn't mean

  503. it's the best.

  504. To understand

  505. the biblical picture

  506. that is involved here,

  507. to understand

  508. what's happening.

  509. You surrender

  510. your right,

  511. your place,

  512. and your advantage

  513. to put

  514. your good

  515. to somebody else.

  516. It's laying down

  517. that love

  518. for another.

  519. Christ went

  520. further still.

  521. He died

  522. for his enemies.

  523. How many would do that?

  524. You know,

  525. Romans 5

  526. tells us this.

  527. He says,

  528. for when we were yet

  529. without strength

  530. in due time,

  531. Christ died

  532. for the ungodly.

  533. for scarcely

  534. for a righteous man

  535. will one die

  536. for a good man.

  537. Some would even

  538. dare to die,

  539. but God

  540. commended his love

  541. toward us

  542. and that while

  543. we were yet sinners,

  544. Christ died

  545. for us.

  546. Much more

  547. than being now

  548. justified

  549. by his blood,

  550. we shall be saved

  551. from wrath

  552. through him.

  553. For if when we were

  554. enemies,

  555. we were reconciled

  556. to God

  557. by the death

  558. of his son,

  559. much more

  560. being reconciled,

  561. we shall be saved

  562. by his life.

  563. That's the reason

  564. 1 John tells us,

  565. herein is love.

  566. Not that we loved God,

  567. but that he loved us

  568. and sent his son

  569. to be the propitiation

  570. for our sin.

  571. But if God

  572. so loved us,

  573. we ought also

  574. to have love

  575. one for another.

  576. It's a big measurement,

  577. isn't it?

  578. Different measuring stick

  579. than we use.

  580. Oftentimes,

  581. we measure love

  582. by what we benefit,

  583. but how does it benefit

  584. somebody else?

  585. Understand that same love

  586. that he laid down

  587. his life for his enemies

  588. now turns

  589. and lays a claim

  590. upon us.

  591. You know,

  592. the measure of his love

  593. has been displayed

  594. in the norm.

  595. Next,

  596. the Lord names

  597. the condition

  598. of being called

  599. his friend.

  600. You know,

  601. look here at verse 14

  602. back in our text

  603. there in John chapter 15.

    John 15 chapter mention

  604. It says this,

  605. ye are my friends

  606. if ye do

  607. whatsoever

  608. I command

  609. you.

  610. the condition

  611. of friendship

  612. with Christ.

  613. Friendship with God

  614. involves obedience

  615. to the things of God.

  616. To be a friend of God,

  617. you must first love him

  618. and abide in him.

  619. That connection

  620. is to the vine.

  621. You know,

  622. that belief

  623. requires action

  624. based upon

  625. what you believe.

  626. You know,

  627. oftentimes,

  628. we forget the fact

  629. that if you believe

  630. Christ to be your Savior,

  631. the one who paid

  632. the price

  633. and took the penalty

  634. of your sin

  635. upon himself

  636. for your sake

  637. to whosoever

  638. shall call upon

  639. the name of the Lord

  640. shall be saved,

  641. also take upon yourself

  642. the responsibility

  643. of it.

  644. Because if you're

  645. a new creature

  646. means you're heading

  647. a new direction

  648. from who you were.

  649. There's been a change,

  650. there's been a dynamic

  651. in your life

  652. that's different.

  653. Understand,

  654. if you don't see fruit,

  655. there's a problem.

  656. Fruit you see

  657. is not what it ought to be.

  658. It tells you something.

  659. When we're connected

  660. with him,

  661. when we understand

  662. who he is,

  663. and that faith

  664. will be seen

  665. in what follows.

  666. I want you to understand,

  667. obedience does not

  668. save you,

  669. faith does,

  670. but true faith

  671. will lead to action.

  672. obedience to the Savior.

  673. Jesus said,

  674. if you love me,

  675. keep my commandment.

  676. Notice what he says,

  677. how the friendship

  678. is kept

  679. if you do whatsoever

  680. I command you.

  681. This is not

  682. the cringing obedience

  683. of a slave

  684. that fears the outcome.

  685. It's the glad obedience

  686. of a friend who loves.

  687. Remember,

  688. if you love me,

  689. keep my commandments.

  690. If you keep my commandments,

  691. you shall abide

  692. in my love.

  693. That's just up in verse 10.

  694. John,

  695. the apostle John

  696. was there that day

  697. when all this was said.

  698. And towards the end

  699. of his life,

  700. he says this.

  701. He says,

  702. this is the love of God

  703. that we keep

  704. his commandments.

  705. And his commandments

  706. are not grievous.

  707. That's what 1 John 5, 3 says.

  708. Don't miss the commandment

  709. that he's given you here.

  710. It's a primary commandment

  711. that he tells them.

  712. It's the one

  713. that bases everything else.

  714. to love one another

  715. as I have loved you.

  716. To do whatsoever

  717. he commands

  718. begins right here

  719. with the brother

  720. and sister in Christ

  721. beside you.

  722. As a church,

  723. we need to understand

  724. the importance

  725. of a love

  726. one for another.

  727. You know,

  728. I think the world

  729. gets a lot of things confused.

  730. I was reading an article

  731. this week on,

  732. you know,

  733. visitors to church.

  734. It's always interesting

  735. to read these different things

  736. that are said,

  737. you know,

  738. and it's like,

  739. well,

  740. you have to put on

  741. the right presentation.

  742. And you don't want

  743. to feel exclusive

  744. to other people.

  745. You know what?

  746. If somebody comes in

  747. and they're not saved,

  748. they ought to feel

  749. excluded a little bit.

  750. Because they're missing

  751. something that everybody

  752. else has.

  753. You know,

  754. it's like being a guest

  755. in a stranger's home.

  756. You don't quite feel

  757. like you belong

  758. for a reason.

  759. Have you ever stayed

  760. with somebody

  761. you don't know

  762. and you just feel

  763. a bit antsy about it?

  764. Why is that?

  765. Because there's

  766. a lack of connection.

  767. You know what?

  768. When you're good friends

  769. with somebody

  770. and you go over

  771. to visit a man,

  772. it's just like,

  773. it's almost like

  774. a second home.

  775. For a believer

  776. gathering together

  777. as a church,

  778. as an assembly

  779. together with God,

  780. a local church

  781. ought to feel

  782. like a second home.

  783. Because you're

  784. amongst others

  785. that are family.

  786. And when somebody

  787. visits,

  788. you want them

  789. to be comfortable,

  790. you want them

  791. to be able

  792. to understand,

  793. you don't want

  794. to be anything.

  795. But I want you

  796. to understand,

  797. there's still

  798. going to be

  799. that connection

  800. if they don't

  801. know Christ

  802. as their Savior.

  803. There's going

  804. to be a disconnect.

  805. If you don't

  806. know Christ,

  807. there's going

  808. to be a disconnect.

  809. Because you're

  810. lost in your sin

  811. instead of under

  812. the blood

  813. of Jesus Christ.

  814. Because that makes

  815. all the difference.

  816. It changes everything.

  817. Obedience does not

  818. purchase his friendship,

  819. it proves it.

  820. If you love God,

  821. you're going to do

  822. those things

  823. that God has

  824. directed us to do.

  825. You know,

  826. when people choose

  827. to do things

  828. counter to what

  829. God said,

  830. you know what?

  831. It says,

  832. God,

  833. I really don't

  834. love you.

  835. I'm going to

  836. do my own thing.

  837. I'm going to

  838. have my own

  839. standard.

  840. I'm going to

  841. go my own

  842. direction.

  843. I'm going to

  844. hold on to

  845. things that I

  846. think instead

  847. of what does

  848. your word say?

  849. James chapter 2

    James 2 chapter mention

  850. tells us this,

  851. the scripture

  852. was fulfilled

  853. which says,

  854. Abraham believed

  855. God and was

  856. imputed unto him

  857. for righteousness

  858. and he was called

  859. the friend of

  860. God.

  861. Now I want you

  862. to think for a

  863. moment,

  864. in Abraham's

  865. household there

  866. was two guys

  867. mentioned in

  868. scripture that

  869. are very

  870. blatantly

  871. contrasted.

  872. We see

  873. Abraham who

  874. obeyed God

  875. and walked

  876. with God,

  877. he was called

  878. the friend of

  879. God,

  880. and you have

  881. another man

  882. by the name

  883. of Lot.

  884. I want you

  885. to understand

  886. Lot,

  887. the Bible

  888. tells us,

  889. was a

  890. redeemed

  891. individual.

  892. Now this is

  893. important.

  894. Because Peter

  895. calls him

  896. just Lot,

  897. that righteous

  898. man whose

  899. soul was

  900. vexed with

  901. the filthy

  902. conversation

  903. of the

  904. wicked.

  905. When Lot

  906. pitched his

  907. tent towards

  908. Sodom,

  909. he made a

  910. choice of

  911. whether he's

  912. going to

  913. love the

  914. world or

  915. love God.

  916. Abraham

  917. said,

  918. I'm going

  919. to love

  920. God.

  921. Lot said,

  922. Lord,

  923. I love

  924. you kind

  925. of,

  926. but this

  927. is the

  928. direction I

  929. want to

  930. go.

  931. You know

  932. what?

  933. There's

  934. the same

  935. dynamic of

  936. believers

  937. today.

  938. There's

  939. Abraham's

  940. and there's

  941. Lot's.

  942. He that

  943. knoweth to

  944. do good

  945. and doeth

  946. it not,

  947. to him

  948. it is

  949. sin.

  950. Lot

  951. pitched his

  952. tent towards

  953. Sodom and

  954. then dwelt

  955. in it,

  956. and God's

  957. dealing with

  958. Lot were

  959. never dealings

  960. of a

  961. friend.

  962. Only one

  963. was the

  964. friend of

  965. God.

  966. Disobedient

  967. never costs

  968. a believer

  969. your

  970. relationship,

  971. your

  972. sonship,

  973. but it

  974. will cost

  975. him the

  976. walk,

  977. the

  978. nearness,

  979. and the

  980. confidence

  981. as a

  982. friend.

  983. Obedience

  984. does not

  985. save you.

  986. It's the

  987. difference

  988. between a

  989. man who

  990. merely

  991. belongs

  992. to God

  993. and a

  994. man who

  995. God

  996. calls his

  997. friend.

  998. And if

  999. obedience

  1000. is the

  1001. condition

  1002. of his

  1003. friendship,

  1004. verse 15

  1005. unfolds its

  1006. privilege,

  1007. that a

  1008. master will

  1009. not tell

  1010. his servant,

  1011. but he

  1012. opens to

  1013. a friend.

  1014. Look at

  1015. verse 15

  1016. back in

  1017. our text.

  1018. He says,

  1019. henceforth I

  1020. call you not

  1021. servants,

  1022. for the

  1023. servant know

  1024. not what

  1025. his Lord

  1026. doeth.

  1027. But I

  1028. have called

  1029. you friends

  1030. for all

  1031. things that

  1032. I have

  1033. heard of

  1034. my Father

  1035. I have

  1036. made known

  1037. unto you.

  1038. The

  1039. privilege

  1040. of friendship

  1041. is the

  1042. servant

  1043. knoweth

  1044. not what

  1045. the Lord

  1046. doeth.

  1047. A

  1048. servant

  1049. is told

  1050. his

  1051. duty,

  1052. a friend

  1053. is told

  1054. the purpose.

  1055. A

  1056. servant

  1057. is not

  1058. informed,

  1059. a friend

  1060. is.

  1061. Notice

  1062. what Jesus

  1063. says,

  1064. henceforth I

  1065. call you

  1066. not

  1067. servants,

  1068. for the

  1069. servant

  1070. knoweth

  1071. not what

  1072. the Lord

  1073. doeth.

  1074. But I

  1075. have

  1076. called

  1077. you

  1078. friends

  1079. for all

  1080. things

  1081. that I

  1082. have

  1083. heard of

  1084. my

  1085. Father

  1086. I

  1087. have

  1088. made

  1089. known

  1090. unto

  1091. you.

  1092. The

  1093. Lord

  1094. opens

  1095. his

  1096. counsel

  1097. to

  1098. his

  1099. friends

  1100. a

  1101. servant

  1102. has

  1103. handed

  1104. orders

  1105. and

  1106. sent

  1107. off

  1108. a

  1109. friend

  1110. is

  1111. brought

  1112. inside

  1113. and

  1114. told

  1115. the

  1116. mind

  1117. and

  1118. the

  1119. purpose

  1120. behind

  1121. it.

  1122. That's

  1123. the

  1124. dignity

  1125. that

  1126. Christ

  1127. confers

  1128. to us.

  1129. He

  1130. does

  1131. not

  1132. keep

  1133. his

  1134. friends

  1135. in the

  1136. dark

  1137. about

  1138. what

  1139. he's

  1140. doing.

  1141. Think

  1142. about this

  1143. for a

  1144. moment.

  1145. Abraham

  1146. was

  1147. a

  1148. friend

  1149. of

  1150. God.

  1151. Genesis

  1152. 18

  1153. tells

  1154. us

  1155. this.

  1156. It says

  1157. and the

  1158. Lord

  1159. said

  1160. shall I

  1161. hide

  1162. from

  1163. Abraham

  1164. the

  1165. thing

  1166. which

  1167. I

  1168. do

  1169. seeing

  1170. that

  1171. Abraham

  1172. shall

  1173. surely

  1174. become

  1175. a

  1176. great

  1177. and

  1178. mighty

  1179. nation

  1180. and

  1181. all

  1182. the

  1183. nations

  1184. of

  1185. earth

  1186. shall

  1187. be

  1188. blessed

  1189. in

  1190. him

  1191. for

  1192. I

  1193. know

  1194. him

  1195. that

  1196. he

  1197. will

  1198. command

  1199. his

  1200. children

  1201. and

  1202. his

  1203. household

  1204. after

  1205. him

  1206. that

  1207. they

  1208. shall

  1209. keep

  1210. the

  1211. way

  1212. of

  1213. the

  1214. Lord

  1215. to

  1216. do

  1217. justice

  1218. and

  1219. judgment

  1220. and

  1221. the

  1222. Lord

  1223. may

  1224. bring

  1225. upon

  1226. Abraham

  1227. that

  1228. which

  1229. has

  1230. spoken

  1231. of

  1232. him

  1233. but

  1234. God

  1235. didn't

  1236. hide

  1237. from

  1238. Abraham

  1239. what

  1240. was

  1241. going

  1242. to

  1243. happen

  1244. why

  1245. did

  1246. he

  1247. tell

  1248. Abraham

  1249. and

  1250. not

  1251. Lot

  1252. the

  1253. angels

  1254. weren't

  1255. even

  1256. going

  1257. to

  1258. Sodom

  1259. to

  1260. get

  1261. Lot

  1262. till

  1263. Abraham

  1264. intervened

  1265. God

  1266. had

  1267. mercy

  1268. upon

  1269. Abraham's

  1270. prayer

  1271. and

  1272. Abraham's

  1273. request

  1274. as a

  1275. friend

  1276. Isaiah

  1277. 41

  1278. tells us

  1279. this

  1280. but thou

  1554. to

  1555. think

  1556. about

  1557. a

  1558. friend

  1559. versus

  1560. an

  1562. you know

  1563. because

  1564. an

  1565. acquaintance

  1566. knows

  1567. about

  1568. you

  1569. friend

  1570. lets

  1571. you

  1572. in

  1573. on

  1574. the

  1576. today

  1577. our

  1587. loves

  1588. twisting

  1589. language

  1590. I

  1591. want

  1592. you

  1593. to

  1594. understand

  1595. something

  1596. in

  1597. life

  1598. you

  1599. will

  1600. have

  1601. very

  1602. few

  1603. true

  1604. friends

  1605. say

  1606. well

  1607. preacher

  1608. aren't

  1609. you

  1610. my

  1611. friend

  1612. well

  1613. we

  1614. can

  1615. be

  1616. I

  1617. want

  1618. you

  1619. to

  1620. see

  1621. the

  1622. picture

  1623. of

  1624. what

  1625. I'm

  1626. talking

  1627. about

  1628. because

  1629. there's

  1630. often times

  1631. we have

  1632. a lot

  1633. of

  1634. acquaintances

  1635. acquaintances

  1636. come

  1637. in all

  1638. different

  1641. hey

  1642. how are

  1643. you

  1644. nice

  1645. to

  1646. meet

  1647. you

  1648. to

  1649. hey

  1650. we've

  1651. hung

  1652. out

  1653. quite

  1654. a few

  1655. times

  1656. kind

  1657. of

  1658. funny

  1659. when

  1660. you

  1661. hang

  1662. out

  1663. with

  1664. guys

  1665. often

  1666. times

  1667. guys

  1668. hang

  1669. out

  1670. with

  1671. group

  1672. reasons

  1673. you

  1674. know

  1675. you

  1676. know

  1677. if

  1678. you

  1679. have

  1680. guys

  1681. that

  1682. are

  1683. hunting

  1698. you

  1699. know

  1700. I

  1752. you

  1753. and

  1754. you

  1755. know

  1756. them

  1757. put it

  1758. this way

  1759. a

  1760. friend

  1761. knows

  1762. the

  1763. things

  1764. that

  1765. you

  1766. don't

  1767. want

  1768. other

  1769. people

  1770. to

  1771. know

  1772. and

  1773. still

  1774. likes

  1775. you

  1776. the

  1777. true

  1778. friend

  1779. still

  1780. loves

  1781. you

  1782. even

  1783. if

  1784. you're

  1785. a

  1786. bit

  1787. prickly

  1788. sometimes

  1789. because

  1790. they

  1791. love

  1792. you

  1793. difference

  1794. and

  1795. Jesus

  1796. is

  1797. telling

  1798. his

  1799. disciples

  1800. that

  1801. dynamic

  1802. an

  1805. you

  1806. nothing

  1807. a

  1814. his

  1816. an

  1817. acquaintance

  1818. is

  1819. circumstantial

  1820. and

  1821. passes

  1822. with

  1823. the

  1824. season

  1825. you

  1826. often

  1827. time

  1828. acquaintances

  1829. are

  1830. people

  1831. who

  1832. just

  1833. kind

  1834. of

  1835. come

  1836. and

  1837. go

  1838. through

  1839. your

  1840. life

  1841. friend

  1842. sticks

  1843. how many

  1844. people

  1845. have

  1846. friends

  1847. that

  1848. you

  1849. can

  1850. say

  1851. you've

  1852. had

  1853. for

  1854. 10

  1855. years

  1856. 20

  1857. years

  1858. some

  1859. of

  1860. you

  1861. just

  1862. age

  1863. out

  1864. I

  1865. was

  1866. friends

  1867. since

  1868. we

  1869. were

  1870. in

  1871. the

  1872. nursery

  1873. 40

  1874. years

  1875. acquaintances

  1876. have

  1877. come

  1878. and gone

  1879. in

  1880. that

  1881. time

  1882. you

  1883. know

  1884. that

  1885. there's

  1886. nothing

  1887. really

  1888. just

  1889. you know

  1890. there wasn't

  1891. that bond

  1892. of really

  1893. knowing one

  1894. another

  1895. but you

  1896. know

  1897. about

  1898. them

  1899. Jesus

  1900. is saying

  1901. he wants

  1902. you not

  1903. just to be

  1904. for you

  1905. to know

  1906. about him

  1907. he wants

  1908. you to

  1909. know him

  1910. his purpose

  1911. to know his

  1912. guidance

  1913. to know his

  1914. direction

  1915. just wants

  1916. you to

  1917. understand

  1918. that he

  1919. is not

  1920. there to

  1921. come and

  1922. go and be

  1923. seasonal

  1924. proverbs

  1925. tells us

  1926. there's a

  1927. friend that

  1928. sticketh

  1929. closer than

  1930. a brother

  1931. says has

  1932. no claim

  1933. upon you

  1934. a friend

  1935. does

  1936. you are

  1937. my friend

  1938. if you

  1939. do

  1940. whatsoever

  1941. I

  1942. command

  1943. you

  1944. most

  1945. men

  1946. have

  1947. many

  1948. acquaintances

  1949. and few

  1950. friends

  1951. you know

  1952. the problem

  1953. is there's

  1954. a lot of

  1955. Christians

  1956. that treat

  1957. Christ

  1958. as an

  1959. acquaintance

  1960. venient

  1961. one I

  1962. know

  1963. when I

  1964. need

  1965. them

  1966. put it

  1967. that way

  1968. acquaintances

  1969. somebody

  1970. you may

  1971. use

  1972. when it's

  1973. convenient

  1974. for you

  1975. and you

  1976. just want

  1977. to hang

  1978. out

  1979. doesn't

  1980. matter

  1981. whether

  1982. you get

  1983. anything

  1984. back

  1985. or not

  1986. back

  1987. is the

  1988. love

  1989. and care

  1990. of the

  1991. other

  1992. has spoken

  1993. to everyone

  1994. that has

  1995. called upon

  1996. his name

  1997. today

  1998. is

  1999. through

  2000. his word

  2001. he has

  2002. revealed

  2003. what is

  2004. expected

  2005. and what

  2006. will

  2007. transpire

  2008. I want

  2009. to ask

  2010. you a

  2011. question

  2012. are you

  2013. his friend

  2014. doing

  2015. what he

  2016. has

  2017. commanded

  2018. sometimes

  2019. there's

  2020. some

  2021. difficult

  2022. things

  2023. that we

  2024. have to

  2025. do

  2026. if we're

  2027. going to

  2028. be

  2029. God's

  2030. friend

  2031. and obey

  2032. what the

  2033. Lord

  2034. has said

  2035. to love

  2036. one another

  2037. means you

  2038. need to

  2039. work at

  2040. getting

  2041. reconciled

  2042. brother or

  2043. sister you

  2044. have not

  2045. spoken to

  2046. a wrong

  2047. that's been

  2048. carried

  2049. a debt

  2050. that you

  2051. refuse

  2052. to forgive

  2053. you're

  2054. going to

  2055. love others

  2056. as Christ

  2057. loved you

  2058. those things

  2059. ought not to

  2060. be obstacles

  2061. to getting

  2062. things right

  2063. Jesus

  2064. laid down

  2065. his life

  2066. for you

  2067. while you

  2068. were yet

  2069. his enemy

  2070. that you

  2071. were outside

  2072. that you

  2073. were

  2074. against

  2075. Christ

  2076. if you're

  2077. not saved

  2078. you're

  2079. against

  2080. Christ

  2081. he died

  2082. that you

  2083. might be

  2084. reconciled

  2085. to him

  2086. he did not

  2087. wait for

  2088. his enemies

  2089. he died

  2090. for them

  2091. you know

  2092. Jesus in

  2093. Matthew chapter

    Matthew 5 chapter mention

  2094. 5 he brought

  2095. something that

  2096. challenged people

  2097. he said this

  2098. if thou bring

  2099. thy gift

  2100. to the altar

  2101. and remember

  2102. that thy

  2103. brother

  2104. hath ought

  2105. against thee

  2106. he says

  2107. what

  2108. first be

  2109. reconciled

  2110. to thy

  2111. brother

  2112. I want

  2113. you to

  2114. understand

  2115. that loving

  2116. another is

  2117. not a

  2118. feeling

  2119. to work

  2120. up

  2121. for many

  2122. of you

  2123. that's

  2124. the name

  2125. that might

  2126. come to

  2127. mind

  2128. is someone

  2129. you must

  2130. be

  2131. reconciled

  2132. to

  2133. for others

  2134. it's not

  2135. a broken

  2136. relationship

  2137. it's all

  2138. maybe it's

  2139. a burden

  2140. to carry

  2141. a need

  2142. to meet

  2143. a place

  2144. to serve

  2145. the same

  2146. love

  2147. and lay

  2148. down in a

  2149. different

  2150. way

  2151. whatever it

  2152. is

  2153. don't leave

  2154. it for

  2155. some day

  2156. I want to

  2157. encourage you

  2158. today

  2159. to take

  2160. care of

  2161. it

  2162. do it

  2163. whatever is

  2164. needed

  2165. this morning

  2166. if you've

  2167. never trusted

  2168. Christ

  2169. I want you

  2170. to understand

  2171. he laid

  2172. down his

  2173. life for

  2174. you

  2175. while you

  2176. were still

  2177. his enemy

  2178. Romans told us

  2179. but God

  2180. commended his

  2181. love toward us

  2182. and while we

  2183. were yet

  2184. sinners

  2185. Christ died

  2186. for us

  2187. the friend

  2188. above all

  2189. others

  2190. is offering

  2191. himself to

  2192. you this

  2193. morning

  2194. and you

  2195. have gone

  2196. on without

  2197. him long

  2198. enough

  2199. the offer

  2200. is free

  2201. and it's

  2202. for you

  2203. the Bible

  2204. says

  2205. whosoever

  2206. shall call

  2207. upon the

  2208. name

  2209. of the

  2210. Lord

  2211. whosoever

  2212. will

  2213. I'm glad

  2214. Ron sang

  2215. that song

  2216. this morning

  2217. that's a

  2218. good song

  2219. you are

  2220. the whosoever

  2221. if there's

  2222. never been

  2223. a moment

  2224. in time

  2225. when you've

  2226. called upon

  2227. the Savior

  2228. today

  2229. is the

  2230. best day

  2231. to do it

  2232. to get

  2233. that taken

  2234. care of

  2235. call upon

  2236. him by

  2237. faith

  2238. believe

  2239. that he

  2240. died

  2241. for your

  2242. sins

  2243. and rose

  2244. again

  2245. in victory

  2246. and call

  2247. upon him

  2248. receive

  2249. his gift

  2250. of salvation

  2251. come

  2252. and be

  2253. reconciled

  2254. to God

  2255. that's

  2256. where it

  2257. starts

  2258. it doesn't

  2259. start by

  2260. doing good

  2261. things

  2262. it starts

  2263. with a

  2264. relationship

  2265. understand

  2266. that

  2267. the

  2268. encouragement

  2269. ought to

  2270. be here

  2271. too

  2272. you love

  2273. others

  2274. the way

  2275. Christ

  2276. commanded

  2277. us

  2278. you know

  2279. what

  2280. sometimes

  2281. you feel

  2282. unnoticed

  2283. you can

  2284. feel used

  2285. others are

  2286. like sucking

  2287. the life

  2288. out of

  2289. you

  2290. the

  2291. encouragement

  2292. somebody

  2293. noticed

  2294. it was

  2295. your friend

  2296. Jesus

  2297. nobody

  2298. took

  2299. note

  2300. he

  2301. did

  2302. he

  2303. took

  2304. note

  2305. he

  2306. noticed

  2307. you

  2308. a

  2309. friend

  2310. a

  2311. friend

  2312. he

  2313. told

  2314. the

  2315. purpose

  2316. stand

  2317. the

  2318. purpose

  2319. of

  2320. God

  2321. cleaning

  2322. and pruning

  2323. us

  2324. we

  2325. might

  2326. be a

  2327. closer

  2328. friend

  2329. to

  2330. Jesus

  2331. where

  2332. are

  2333. you

  2334. Newton

  2335. the writer

  2336. of

  2337. amazing

  2338. grace

  2339. wrote

  2340. another

  2341. hymn

  2342. called

  2343. a

  2344. friend

  2345. above

  2346. all

  2347. others

  2348. he

  2349. says

  2350. one

  2351. there

  2352. is

  2353. above

  2354. all

  2355. others

  2356. well

  2357. deserved

  2358. the name

  2359. of a

  2360. friend

  2361. he

  2362. is

  2363. loved

  2364. beyond

  2365. the

  2366. brothers

  2367. costly

  2368. free

  2369. and

  2370. knows

  2371. no

  2372. end

  2373. they

  2374. who

  2375. once

  2376. his

  2377. kindness

  2378. prove

  2379. find

  2380. it

  2381. everlasting

  2382. love

  2383. which

  2384. to

  2385. all

  2386. our

  2387. friends

  2388. to

  2389. save

  2390. us

  2391. could

  2392. or

  2393. would

  2394. have

  2395. shed

  2396. their

  2397. blood

  2398. but

  2399. our

  2400. Jesus

  2401. died

  2402. to

  2403. have

  2404. us

  2405. reconciled

  2406. him

  2407. to

  2408. God

  2409. this

  2410. is

  2411. the

  2412. boundless

  2413. love

  2414. indeed

  2415. Jesus

  2416. is

  2417. a

  2418. friend

  2419. in

  2420. need

  2421. oh

  2422. for

  2423. grace

  2424. our

  2425. hearts

  2426. to

  2427. soften

  2428. teach

  2429. us

  2430. Lord

  2431. to

  2432. length

  2433. to

  2434. love

  2435. we

  2436. alas

  2437. forget

  2438. too

  2439. often

  2440. what

  2441. a

  2442. friend

  2443. we

  2444. have

  2445. above

  2446. but

  2447. when

  2448. home

  2449. our

  2450. souls

  2451. are

  2452. brought

  2453. we

  2454. will

  2455. love

  2456. thee

  2457. as

  2458. we

  2459. ought

  2460. today

  2461. as

  2462. heads

  2463. are

  2464. bowed

  2465. and eyes

  2466. are

  2467. closed

  2468. today

  2469. and

  2470. are

  2471. not

  2472. sure

  2473. that's

  2474. the

  2475. question

  2476. where

  2477. do

  2478. you

  2479. stand

  2480. with

  2481. God

  2482. if

  2483. you

  2484. were

  2485. to

  2486. stand

  2487. before

  2488. God

  2489. today

  2490. and

  2491. God

  2492. says

  2493. why

  2494. should

  2495. I

  2496. allow

  2497. you

  2498. into

  2499. heaven

  2500. what

  2501. would

  2502. you

  2503. say

  2504. would

  2505. it

  2506. be

  2507. because

  2508. of

  2509. what

  2510. Jesus

  2511. did

  2512. or

  2513. would

  2514. you

  2515. try

  2516. to

  2517. make

  2518. a

  2519. list

  2520. or

  2521. I

  2522. hope

  2523. he

  2524. lets

  2525. me

  2526. in

  2527. let

  2528. me

  2529. tell

  2530. you

  2531. your

  2532. hope

  2533. is

  2534. not

  2535. in

  2536. yourself

  2537. and

  2538. what

  2539. you

  2540. done

  2541. your

  2542. hope

  2543. is

  2544. in

  2545. Jesus

  2546. Christ

  2547. if

  2548. you

  2549. don't

  2550. know

  2551. for

  2552. sure

  2553. there's

  2554. been

  2555. a

  2556. time

  2557. that

  2558. you've

  2559. called

  2560. upon

  2561. him

  2562. to

  2563. save

  2564. you

  2565. I

  2566. encourage

  2567. you

  2568. we're

  2569. going to

  2570. have

  2571. an

  2572. opportunity

  2573. to

  2574. respond

  2575. to

  2576. come

  2577. and

  2578. we

  2579. have

  2580. somebody

  2581. show

  2582. you

  2583. from

  2584. God's

  2585. word

  2586. how

  2587. you

  2588. can

  2589. know

  2590. that

  2591. he

  2592. is

  2593. more

  2594. than

  2595. just

  2596. a

  2597. God

  2598. in

  2599. heaven

  2600. but

  2601. he

  2602. can

  2603. be

  2604. your

  2605. !

  2606. friend

  2607. I

  2608. encourage

  2609. you

  2610. today

  2611. don't

  2612. wait

  2613. maybe

  2614. you're

  2615. here

  2616. today

  2617. and

  2618. God's

  2619. been

  2620. speaking

  2621. to

  2622. you

  2623. about

  2624. some

  2625. things

  2626. in

  2627. your

  2628. life

  2629. if

  2630. you

  2631. love

  2632. me

  2633. keep

  2634. my

  2635. commandments

  2636. covers

  2637. a

  2638. pretty

  2639. big

  2640. territory

  2641. maybe

  2642. there's

  2643. a

  2644. matter

  2645. of

  2646. obedience

  2647. that

  2648. God's

  2649. been

  2650. speaking

  2651. to

  2652. you

  2653. about

  2654. that

  2655. you

  2656. say

  2657. Lord

  2658. not

  2659. my

  2660. will

  2661. but

  2662. your

  2663. will

  2664. Lord

  2665. let

  2666. me

  2667. be

  2668. a

  2669. friend

  2670. and

  2671. do

  2672. what

  2673. you've

  2674. instructed

  2675. me

  2676. to

  2677. do

  2678. and

  2679. to

  2680. not

  2681. hold

  2682. back

  2683. Heavenly

  2684. Fathers

  2685. we just

  2686. commit

  2687. this to

  2688. you

  2689. this

  2690. morning

  2691. Lord

  2692. we

  2693. pray

  2694. just

  2695. have

  2696. your

  2697. hand

  2698. upon

  2699. each

  2700. heart

  2701. each

  2702. life

  2703. here

  2704. today

  2705. Lord

  2706. we

  2707. might

  2708. understand

  2709. what

  2710. it

  2711. means

  2712. to

  2713. be

  2714. called

  2715. your

  2716. friend

  2717. there's

  2718. no

  2719. greater

  2720. friend

  2721. in the

  2722. world

  2723. Lord

  2724. I

  2725. pray

  2726. just

  2727. work

  2728. upon

  2729. each

  2730. heart

  2731. each

  2732. life

  2733. you

  2734. know

  2735. the

  2736. need

  2737. Lord

  2738. if

  2739. there's

  2740. one

  2741. here

  2742. today

  2743. that

  2744. doesn't

  2745. know

  2746. you

  2747. as

  2748. savior

  2749. to

  2750. say

  2751. I

  2752. know

  2753. I

  2754. feel

  2755. the

  2756. outsideness

  2757. of

  2758. the

  2759. bond

  2760. of

  2761. fellowship

  2762. amongst

  2763. believers

  2764. because

  2765. not

  2766. of

  2767. who

  2768. we

  2769. are

  2770. but

  2771. because

  2772. of

  2773. who

  2774. you

  2775. are

  2776. Lord

  2777. I

  2778. pray

  2779. today

  2780. would

  2781. be

  2782. the

  2783. day

  2784. of

  2785. salvation

  2786. Lord

  2787. I

  2788. pray

  2789. for

  2790. those

  2791. who

  2792. know

  2793. you

  2794. that

  2795. they

  2796. might

  2797. not

  2798. just

  2799. be

  2800. your

  2801. acquaintance

  2802. but

  2803. desire

  2804. to

  2805. be

  2806. your

  2807. friend

  2808. and

  2809. Lord

  2810. we

  2811. ask

  2812. all

  2813. these

  2814. things

  2815. !

  2816. in

  2817. your

  2818. !

  2819. precious

  2820. name

  2821. as

  2822. the

  2823. piano

  2824. plays

  2825. what

  2826. about

  2827. you

  2828. today?
