-
For many of us, it's been a tough Lent.
-
For some, it's been brutal.
-
in ways expected and ways unexpected.
-
And yet we've had more people come out for daily Mass, adoration, confession, and the parish mission than ever before.
-
Not to mention the big crowd for the Shoud of Turin presentation.
-
Lent is a special time to unite with God in our suffering.
-
Holy Week is the time where we recall the events of God uniting with us in suffering.
-
that Jesus Christ went to the depths of human suffering in all its forms.
-
Physical, emotional, personal, spiritual United with the people who have gone to the depths themselves.
-
and primarily to say to them, to you and to me, you're not alone.
-
I'm with you.
-
You're never alone in that suffering.
-
And so as we go through Holy Week, the sad, tough events of this week, to remember what's at the end of the week, is Easter, the start of next week, that suffering leads to
-
resurrection.
-
So this week, remember the words of Mother Teresa.
-
Don't ever get so sad that you lose sight of the resurrection.
