-
Alright.
-
The scripture reading today comes from Exodus 3, verses 13 through 15.
-
There it says but Moses protested If I go to the people of Israel and tell them, the God of your ancestors has sent me to you, they will ask me what is his name?
-
Then what should I tell them?
-
God replied to Moses I am who I am.
-
Say this to the people of Israel I am has sent me to you.
-
God also said to Moses say to the people of Israel Yahweh, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob has sent me to you.
-
All right, let's pray.
-
Dear God, we thank you for this day, god.
-
We thank you for an opportunity to get together as a family.
-
We're thankful for Jesus and we're thankful for you, god.
-
We're thankful for the way that you work in our life and we're thankful for an opportunity to come this morning and celebrate and worship you.
-
God, we thank you for everything you do for us.
-
We thank you for Jesus and his example of how to love and interact with people.
-
We pray for opportunities to see your love this morning.
-
It's in your son's name we pray.
-
Amen.
-
All right, I have four voluntolds here with me this morning.
-
One of them is Ross Love.
-
Everybody say hi Ross, hi Ross, hi Ross, hi Ross, ross.
-
One is Macy.
-
Everybody say hi to Macy, hi Macy, okay.
-
One is Andrew.
-
Everybody say hi to Andrew, hi Andrew.
-
And one is Carrie.
-
Everybody say hi to Carrie, hi Carrie.
-
All right, they are a part of a game show this morning that they did not know they were going to participate in, and so are you guys.
-
You'll see on your outline, there at the top, you have six blanks.
-
You get to play two.
-
Okay, but they are a part of the game.
-
It's going to be sort of like Price is Right.
-
So I want you to imagine you're sitting at the podium.
-
I only have four blanks.
-
Ooh, add two more blanks on there.
-
My bad, the way this is going to work today, I'm going to show you a product.
-
The way this is going to work today, I'm going to show you a product.
-
I'm going to show you a product.
-
You are then going to write down on your notebook or on your outline the main ingredient in that product and the percentage that main ingredient is in the product.
-
So, okay, has everybody got that?
-
Does that make sense?
-
So we could say Gatorade.
-
I'm making this up.
-
We could say Gatorade, the main ingredient is.
-
We'll say water and we'll say it makes up 50% of the product and that the rest is sugar.
-
I don't know.
-
Okay, so that's what we're doing, do you guys understand?
-
So you guys are just in front so you get to share your answers to everybody else, because I know that you're really smart people.
-
You know this stuff, okay.
-
So our first product today is the original Pringle.
-
So you, on your outline, there are writing down the main ingredient and what percentage you think it makes up of the Pringle.
-
So you guys, here we go the original Pringle.
-
What do you think the main ingredient of a Pringle is and what percentage it makes up of the product?
-
If you get it right, you will go home with this can of Pringles.
-
Okay, you on the stage.
-
So there's a lot at stake here, okay, so you got about 20 seconds here.
-
It's definitely not potatoes.
-
Ross says All right, time is up.
-
Pencils down, ross.
-
100% salt.
-
You are not going home with a can of Pringles today.
-
Macy Salt 64% Andrew.
-
Potatoes 70% Carrie.
-
The answer is 42% dried potato, carrie.
-
Carrie, you go home with a can of Pringles, all right.
-
The next item on our list today is a classic Yoo-hoo, the main ingredient of Yoo-hoo, and what percentage does it make up the product.
-
Yoo-hoo, the main ingredient of Yoo-hoo, and what percentage does it make up Ross?
-
Come on, you know.
-
Do we have any big Yoo-hoo fans?
-
And what percentage does it make up ross?
-
Come on, you know.
-
Do we have any big yoohoo fans?
-
Okay, just just one person likes that stuff, just james.
-
All right, time is up.
-
Carrie, can you share with us the main ingredient of Yoohoo Water?
-
What percentage?
-
60%, okay, andrew Water.
-
40%.
-
Macy.
-
What percentage?
-
50%.
-
Ross Water 89%.
-
The answer is water 50%.
-
You get a Yoo-Hoo, all right, this one's going to be a little bit different.
-
I'm changing the rules just a little bit, because in chocolate, they measure chocolate by the word cacao.
-
I think I'm saying that right, cacao, okay.
-
They measure chocolate by the word cacao.
-
I think I'm saying that right, cacao, okay.
-
So this one.
-
What I want you to guess is how much cacao is in a Hershey bar, because I can tell you it's not the main ingredient.
-
That's why I'm not asking you the main ingredient.
-
So all you have to do is give me a percentage.
-
What percentage of this chocolate bar is, in fact, chocolate?
-
Chocolate bar is in fact chocolate and if you get it right, you may just go home with that chocolate bar.
-
What percentage, lee?
-
What'd you write down?
-
42%.
-
You're a big believer in Hershey, all right, big believer, all right.
-
Let's start with Andrew.
-
Percentage of cacao 20%, okay, macy.
-
40%.
-
Carrie 35%, ross, 23%, ross, 23%.
-
Did anybody write down 11%?
-
Mary Lou, is that a hand?
-
Oh, I thought you were about to yell bingo back there.
-
Terry wrote 10.
-
All right, who had the lowest up here?
-
Andrew, fda says there has to be 10% of cacao in a Hershey bar to consider it chocolate.
-
Hershey does 11.
-
You're mostly eating milk and sugar when you eat a Hershey bar.
-
There you go.
-
This is working out well.
-
Everybody but Ross.
-
That's good, just like we drew it up.
-
Let's not do this one yet.
-
All right, no one gets to keep this one, because I need it after this.
-
This is Dove deodorant.
-
The main ingredient in Dove deodorant and what percentage does it make up?
-
What is the main ingredient in Dove deodorant?
-
And I forgot to write that in my notes.
-
It's on my phone, so just give me a second.
-
Don't look it up.
-
Dove deodorant.
-
That specifically one is men's dove deodorant.
-
I don't know, it's some fall one?
-
All right answers.
-
Ready set, set the pen down.
-
All right answers.
-
Ready set, set the pen down.
-
All right, ross, what's your answer?
-
65%.
-
Lotion Ross says he's not walking home with deodorant today.
-
Macy Perfume what percentage?
-
30%.
-
Perfume, andrew Oil what's getting my deodorant today?
-
Aluminum Zirconium 15%.
-
You're rubbing a Mountain Dew can under your arms.
-
Nope, it's not lotion Ross, it's aluminum.
-
Alright, we got two more and then we'll get into something much more important Barbecue sauce, main ingredient in barbecue sauce.
-
Main ingredient what percentage does it make up of barbecue sauce?
-
Main ingredient of barbecue sauce Big fan of kinders, big fan, big fan.
-
Okay, carrie, what's your answer?
-
Vinegar 40%.
-
Okay, andrew Sugar 40% Sugar, 40%.
-
Macy Water what percent?
-
20.
-
Ross, this is your chance.
-
Ross, okay.
-
Okay, did anybody write down tomato paste?
-
Okay, here you go, here you go.
-
12% of barbecue sauce is tomato puree.
-
There you go, all right, last one, last one.
-
Juergens, ultra Healing Lotion.
-
Juergens, ultra Healing Lotion.
-
It's me out of the theater.
-
Juergens, ultra Healing Lotion.
-
What's made out of deodorant?
-
Juergens, ultra Healing Lotion, what's it made of?
-
How much sugar?
-
I didn't look that up, I don't know.
-
Ross said 40, I think, so that's probably true.
-
Whatever Ross says is true, I think, all right.
-
L lotion Main ingredient in lotion is macy.
-
20%.
-
What Essential oil?
-
Oh, look at you, crunchy.
-
Okay, let's save Ross.
-
I want to see if Ross wins.
-
Andrew, not yet, never mind, tell them what you wrote, ross.
-
I want to see if Ross wins.
-
Let's save Ross, andrew, not yet, never mind, tell him what you wrote Ross.
-
100% salt.
-
You go home and just put lotion all over that popcorn huh.
-
All right, andrew, what do you got?
-
40% aloe Carrie.
-
100% lotion.
-
Okay, anybody right now in water?
-
That's right.
-
Here you go.
-
Ultra healing there for you.
-
All right, ross, I did pick up something extra for you.
-
I just had a feeling here's some Italian seasoning buddy.
-
All right, you guys can have a seat Round of applause.
-
Can I have that lotion back for just a second?
-
Oh, you put it in the purse already.
-
I'll pass it back.
-
I just need it for just a second.
-
Yeah, that's yours, not that?
-
Just for you, all right.
-
So it's surprising, sometimes even eye-opening.
-
What actually makes up a product.
-
Lotion is 80% water, isn't that crazy?
-
80% of this tube here is water.
-
I paid $4.95 for this water yesterday and that's what makes it up.
-
It's what is the main ingredient for it.
-
So you guys can have that lotion.
-
So it's sometimes surprising what the main ingredient is and how little everything else is involved.
-
So we're going to jump into our story this morning.
-
This morning we're in Exodus, chapter 3.
Exodus 3 chapter mention
-
Last week, if you joined us, we kind of talked about what was life like for Moses before the burning bush moment.
-
There is a reason that Moses was so consistent on telling God I'm not the guy.
-
And so last week we spent some time trying to discover and kind of look at what was it that was driving Moses to say it's not me.
-
This week we're going to look at the story a little bit more, beginning in Exodus, chapter 3, you see this conversation between God and Moses, and remember this is taking place through the burning bush the bush that is burning but not burning up, and so God has made his presence 100% known to Moses and he's sharing this conversation with him.
Exodus 3 chapter mention
-
Moses protests if I go to the people of Israel and tell them the God of your ancestors has sent me to you, they're going to ask what is his name?
-
Then what should I tell them?
-
And God responds with I am who I am.
-
Say this to the people of Israel I am has sent me to you.
-
God also said to Moses say this to the people of Israel Yahweh, the God of your ancestors, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.
-
Moses is so hung up on this conversation with God.
-
He's only focused on who Himself.
-
Right From what we've looked at so far, as we've kind of studied this, the first thing that Moses jumps to is himself.
-
And in this conversation, god is kind of trying to drive home the point that it's all about who I am.
-
He says I am, I was and I is and I'm going to be.
-
And I want to go back and look at a verse that takes place before this.
-
Verse 7 says this and we're going to play a game today.
-
We're going to see if we can fill in the blank.
-
Okay, this is God talking to Moses again.
-
It says then the Lord told him blank Aye.
-
Very good, you guys are doing great so far.
-
I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt.
-
Blank Aye, be confident Aye.
-
I have heard their cries of the distress because of their harsh slave drivers.
-
Yes, I am aware of their suffering, so I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and lead them out of Egypt into their own fertile and spacious land.
-
It is a land flowing with milk and honey, the land where the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Pezzorites, the Hivites, the Jebusites now all live.
-
I should have left those all blank.
-
Next week we'll do that.
-
It says look, the cry of the people has reached me.
-
Good job, some of you have got it.
-
You waited a second.
-
It has reached who?
-
Me?
-
Who's speaking?
-
Okay, so it's reached me, and blank.
-
I have seen how harshly the Egyptians abused him.
-
Now go for I.
-
I am sending you to the Pharaoh and you must lead my people, israel, out of Egypt.
-
Three verses, seven times.
-
God says I Twice.
-
He says what do we emphasize, though?
-
The you Seven times?
-
God, when he reaches Moses, says I'm going to do it, it's me, it's I, I'm going to do it.
-
God has seen the oppression.
-
God has heard their distress.
-
God is aware of their suffering.
-
God is going to do something.
-
God is going to do the rescuing.
-
God is going to do the leading.
-
God is going to do the sending.
-
God is going to do the delivering.
-
It is God, it was God and it will be God.
-
Moses struggled with that Because immediately when the conversation started, who did he start focusing on Himself?
-
Every good smoothie needs a base, right?
-
Every good smoothie needs a base.
-
What would make a good base in a smoothie?
-
Anybody got any suggestions?
-
You say ice cream?
-
Yeah, chuck said ice cream.
-
That's my kind of smoothie.
-
Yogurt would make a good base.
-
Anybody else Base Sherbet Maybe?
-
Yeah, it might be yummy.
-
Orange juice, milk yeah, milk.
-
So every good smoothie has a base.
-
I read, I took Smoothie 101 this week and I learned that the purpose of the base ingredient of a smoothie is to pull out the best flavors and to balance the other ingredients.
-
And so, in order to make a good smoothie, something that's going to taste good and be refreshing, you have to have a base that's going to pull out all the other ingredients, going to pull out the best.
-
So you put the milk in, or you put the yogurt in, and then you add in all the fruit, right, and then you add in the peanut butter and then that base what it does is it pulls out all the good flavors to make it a good consistency.
-
And so if we are building a, if we're blended, what has to be the base?
-
Christ God I am God as he's addressing Moses is trying to turn Moses' attention away from Himself and says this is all about Me.
-
I don't need you to be the base, moses.
-
I'll be the milk.
-
I'll provide the consistency.
-
I'll provide the consistency, I'll provide the thing that pulls out the best.
-
You just be a strawberry.
-
I don't need you to be the base, I don't need you to hold it all together, I will.
-
Does that make sense?
-
And so he writes that to Moses.
-
As he's addressing him from the bush, he tells him I, I, I, I, I I'm going to do it, moses, I'm going to lead the people, I'm going to do it.
-
And so, as we start this morning on your outline, you got to remember that God is the base.
-
If we're going to be blended, we have to remember, as a church family, that God is in fact the base and he needs you and I.
-
He needed Moses to be an active ingredient, an active ingredient.
-
I also took skin care 101 this week.
-
It was a busy week.
-
I learned that in most skin care products, 90% of the product is in fact, water.
-
We all know that.
-
Now you learned something today.
-
If you look at acne cream, the ingredient that actually treats acne makes up 1% of the product, but the key part of it is is it's the active ingredient.
-
It has a purpose and it is designed to do something.
-
Okay, so, as we talk about personal products the acne cream the active ingredient is designed to treat what.
-
It was created and designed that one ingredient was created and designed to put in the product to do that one thing to be active.
-
And so if God is the base, then all we have to be is the active ingredient.
-
God kind of takes all the pressure off of you and I.
-
The problem is is oftentimes we like to make ourselves the base and God the ingredient.
-
We get it backwards and when we do that, it just doesn't blend well.
-
God has to be the base so that we get the right consistency.
-
He says I'll be the base of the smoothie, I'll be the milk, I'll be the sherbet, you be the strawberry, because the purpose of the base ingredient in the smoothie is to draw out the best of all of the ingredients.
-
And so God is designed and works in such a way to pull out the best in you and I.
-
God is telling Moses, he's telling you, he's telling me let me pull out the best, let me be the center of it, let me take care of it.
-
Does that make sense?
-
Does that make sense?
-
Okay, so we keep going here, we keep looking at this, we keep looking at this.
-
He's got to remind Moses that he's equipped Moses to do something and hopefully it's a reminder to you and I that God has equipped you to do something.
-
Exodus, chapter 4, god is still trying to convince Moses.
Exodus 4 chapter mention
-
He's still trying to convince Moses that he is in fact the guy, that he is the man for the job.
-
And they keep going back and forth in conversation and Moses is consistently saying it's not me, I'm not the guy, I'm not the one, I can't do it.
-
He's consistently having this conversation with God I just can't be the guy that you need me to be, I can't do it.
-
And finally, in Exodus 4, 2-3, we get this conversation.
-
It says Then the Lord asked him what is it that's in your hand and in your hand?
-
And Moses replied it's a shepherd's staff.
-
And God said throw it down on the ground.
-
And the Lord told him to do so.
-
So Moses threw down the staff and it turned into a snake.
-
And Moses did exactly what I did or would do, but I would run.
-
I wouldn't just jump, I would run.
-
And then God tells Moses to do what Pick it up.
-
And what happens to that snake?
-
Who does the work right there?
-
Who's at the base of that story?
-
Who is the ingredient?
-
Who had to be active?
-
Who had to throw the staff down?
-
Moses, but who did all the work?
-
God, you see what's happening here.
-
Moses is a shepherd.
-
We talked about this last week.
-
We talked about the ups and downs that Moses would have went through.
-
We talked about the struggles that Moses would have ran into.
-
So when God asked him what's in his hand, I wonder how Moses actually responded.
-
We read that he says it's a staff, right, but was it more of like hey, moses, what's in your hand?
-
And Moses kind of looked around at his life and went all I have is this staff, you know?
-
Was it a moment where he just kind of looked at what he had and goes it's just this staff that I use to move around these animals.
-
It's not a lot, it's not a whole lot.
-
And God says, okay, well, let me take that and let me do something really cool with it.
-
So you just throw it down and I'll take care of the rest.
-
And so what God is trying to get Moses to understand is that he's just got to be willing to listen and allow God to show him.
-
So God does this really cool miracle, if you would, or trick, and turns the staff into a snake.
-
But it doesn't stop there.
-
Because that wasn't enough for Moses.
-
He's still discouraged.
-
He still doesn't feel like he's the guy for the job.
-
So then the Lord said to Moses now put your hand inside of your cloak.
-
So Moses puts his hand inside of his cloak.
-
When he puts his hand inside of his cloak and pulls it out, what happens to his hand?
-
It turns white.
-
Right, he's got a skin disease.
-
Now, who did that?
-
Okay.
-
So then God says okay, now put it back in your cloak.
-
So he puts it back in his cloak and pulls it back out.
-
What happens?
-
It's gone Immediately.
-
God was at the base of that.
-
And he keeps going on.
-
He says what if they see that?
-
And they still don't believe?
-
And then the Lord says to Moses if they do not believe you and are not convinced by the first miraculous sign, they will be convinced by that second sign.
-
So who believes here?
-
God believes, right, god believes.
-
By the second sign they're going to believe.
-
But Moses, I can sense that you're struggling just a little bit, so let me give you one more sign.
-
Let me give you one more sign that I'm in control, that I'm the one that can use you.
-
So he says okay, if they don't believe you, listen after the two signs.
-
Then take some water from the Nile River and pour it out onto the ground.
-
And when you do that, the water from the Nile River will turn into blood.
-
But God is consistently proving to Moses that he is.
-
I am.
-
But Moses is struggling to capture the idea that the task has nothing to do with him and has everything to do with God.
-
Moses is still caught up on this idea of what, if I don't have the right words to say Moses?
-
God shows him those three signs.
-
Here's what you're going to do.
-
You're going to throw your staff down.
-
It's going to turn into the snake.
-
Only God could do that.
-
You're going to take your hand out.
-
It's going to have a skin disease and then you're going to put it back and it's going to be healed.
-
Only God can do that.
-
Then you're going to take water from the river that is just water and you're going to pour it out and it's going to turn into blood.
-
Only God can do that.
-
Moses gets all of those signs and he's still struggling to believe.
-
And it's really easy to look at Moses and say how do you not believe God's been working your whole life?
-
But we do the same thing.
-
There are moments in our life where it's evident that God has been working.
-
There's moments in our life that it's evident that God has got you to the place that you are right now for a reason.
-
But it's really easy to be like Moses and say but I just don't know.
-
I see you, god, I see you working, but I just don't know if you could really use me.
-
So Moses does what everyone else would do.
-
He says but I see you, god, I see that you're working, but I don't.
-
I'm not good with words.
-
So then God kind of has a pretty upfront, honest conversation with them.
-
He says the Lord asked Moses, who makes you?
-
Who makes a person's mouth?
-
The answer is God.
-
I am who decides whether people speak or do not speak.
-
Who does that?
-
God Hear or do not hear?
-
God See or do not see?
-
It is not I, the Lord.
-
Now go, I will be with you as you speak.
-
I will instruct you in what to say.
-
But Moses again pleaded Lord, please send anybody else.
-
Who is Moses focused on?
-
Moses thinks he has to be the base.
-
Moses thinks he has to have it all together.
-
Moses thinks he's got to be the one that holds it down, when that's all not true.
-
He just needs to be active.
-
It keeps going on.
-
God continually works with Moses.
-
He doesn't give up on him.
-
He doesn't quit.
-
He doesn't say man, you're really annoying me, I'll just find somebody else.
-
He does get angry.
-
We're about to read here in just a second.
-
He gets a little bit angry with him.
-
He says all right, what about your brother, aaron the Levite?
-
I know he speaks well.
-
You're complaining about not being good at speaking.
-
I know he's a good speaker.
-
He says and look, he's on his way to meet you now.
-
Doesn't that seem a little prearranged?
-
It's a God moment.
-
He will be delighted to see you Talk to him, put the words into his mouth.
-
I'll be with you both as you speak and I'll instruct you both in what to do.
-
Continues on.
-
He says Aaron will be your spokesman to the people.
-
He will be your mouthpiece and you will stand in the place of God for him, telling him what to say.
-
And oh, by the way, take your shepherd's staff with you.
-
We're going to use that to do some miraculous signs that I have shown you.
-
Moses becomes the teleprompt.
-
What's the purpose of a teleprompt?
-
Shows people what to say, right?
-
Aaron becomes the reporter.
-
He just reads from the screen.
-
So God says okay, moses, if you can't handle it, if you're saying your words, it doesn't matter, I'm still going to use you here.
-
I'm going to give you all the words.
-
You're going to tell them to Aaron, and then Aaron's going to be the microphone and tell it to everybody else.
-
You're still a part of the plan, moses.
-
You're still an active ingredient.
-
I'm still going to use you.
-
I'm not going to give up on you because you don't think you're usable.
-
Instead, I'm just going to find a different way to use you.
-
So many of us might be like Moses, holding the shepherd's staff and going I don't have a whole lot to offer to God, but this is what I have.
-
Some of us are saying man, I'm not good with words.
-
And God says okay, watch, watch me use you in a different way.
-
I don't know what it is that God has given you, but I do know that he's given each and every one of us a gift or a task that we are capable of doing.
-
I love this story of Moses because he never gives up on him.
-
We're very early into this story.
-
He could have quickly said, okay, let's go to the next guy, and he kind of does.
-
He goes to Aaron, but he still involves Moses, and so it's encouraging to you and I hopefully, to know that we have a part in the story or we have a part in the smoothie, if we want to stay with that theme.
-
We're an active ingredient.
-
We can be an active ingredient.
-
You read in 1 Corinthians God tells us that there's different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them.
-
There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
-
There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
-
There are different kinds of working, but on all of them, in every one, it is the same God at work.
-
We've all been given a task or a gift or a talent that we can use to further the kingdom of God.
-
It goes on to write in 1 Corinthians 12,.
-
It says the human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body.
-
So it is with the body of Christ.
-
We've talked about that before, how the church is a body.
-
We each have different parts and functions, but we work together to point people to God.
-
So the main thing I want you to take away from this morning is that God is the base.
-
He has to be, he's got to be the base.
-
We're just an active ingredient in the process.
-
We an active ingredient in the process.
-
We don't have to be the thing that holds it all together.
-
That's why we have God.
-
And so one last thing we need to live in such a way that people experience the love of God.
-
It's rather simple today what God was trying to get Moses to do was fall in love with God.
-
Moses, fall in love with me Because when you fall in love with somebody, you start to trust them, right, you start to trust them, you start to share things with them.
-
You start to just give them everything In marriage.
-
You make it official, right.
-
When you love somebody, you make it official.
-
God is trying to get Moses to fall in love with him, to trust him, because when he falls in love with God, when his love of God grows so strong, he's going to have to share it with other people.
-
He's going to make Facebook posts about his love.
-
He's going to make the Instagram posts about God and his love.
-
Love God to a point which you know and understand that he will and can, and that you'll love people and you'll share that love with God.
-
That's what he was asking Moses to do.
-
We read in John, chapter 3,.
John 3 chapter mention
-
It says as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of man must be lifted up so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.
-
Everything this church does should point to who?
-
To Jesus.
-
Everything we do, everything this family does, should point to Jesus.
-
Everything you do in your life should point to Jesus.
-
It's not about me, it's not about you.
-
It's about Jesus.
-
It's about the Savior, it's about the King.
-
It's all about Him.
-
When you take a drink of the smoothie and the smoothie tastes really good, you don't say, man, those strawberries are so good.
-
You turn to the person next to you and't say, man, those strawberries are so good.
-
You turn to the person next to you and you say, man, this smoothie is really good.
-
It's all about the base.
-
It's not about you, it's about God.
-
Let's pray, God.
-
We thank you for your love, God.
-
We thank you for the way that you work in our life, God.
-
We thank you for your love, God.
-
We thank you for the way that you work in our life.
-
God, we thank you for being the base.
-
God, I'm thankful for the love that you have for us, God, the way that you consistently work in our life.
-
God, I'm thankful and reminded by that love with your interaction with Moses.
-
God, there's so many times in my life where I don't feel like I'm good enough.
-
I don't feel like I would add up or be of any use.
-
God, and you say I got this.
-
God, I pray that you would work in this world, that you would work in this community and, God, that you would allow us just to be an active ingredient in it.
-
God, I pray that each and everything points to you, you would allow us just to be an active ingredient in it.
-
God, I pray that each and everything points to you, that we can be a light in the community.
-
That just points to you.
-
God, we're so thankful for your love.
-
We're thankful for Jesus.
-
That's just a perfect example of how you feel for us.
-
God, give us opportunities this week to be an active ingredient.
-
Present us with opportunities that we can go out into the world and we can serve you, that we can literally point people to you.
-
God, I pray that we can be encouraged this week to go and do that.
-
It's not just a head nod or yes, that sounds good, but it's actually something that we go and do.
-
God, I pray that we put our trust in you and we go serve and point people to you.
-
It's in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
-
I wanted to and I didn't get it done.
-
I wanted to print off an ingredients label and I wanted to make it a poster size thing and I wanted to post it right on the back wall back there Ingredients, Boom, boom and then just write active ingredients, and what I wanted to do is challenge each one of you to go back there and sign up to be an active kingdom or active ingredient in God's kingdom.
-
I didn't get to that, okay.
-
So what I want you to visually do this week is, as you walk out those doors, picture that there's a sign back there that says I'm an active ingredient, and picture yourself writing it, Because it has to be more than a head nod, it has to be more than a yes, I would like for God to use me.
-
At some point we have to say yes, God, use me.
-
Yes, God, I will, Because you are, I will.
-
And so it's not back there.
-
Some of you turned your head like it was going to be back there.
-
It's not back there.
-
Unless somebody did something I didn't know about.
-
It's not back there, but maybe right on your outline this week.
-
Yes, I will be active, and I don't know what that active looks like for you.
-
That active could be.
-
I'm going to go hold the door for somebody.
-
That active could be.
-
There's somebody I know that I need to go visit.
-
That active could be.
-
I know there's a shut-in that I haven't seen here in a few weeks I'm going to go see them.
-
That active could be.
-
I'm going to go teach class for the children that are over here.
-
That active could be any of those things, but we've got to do something with it.
-
I would love to see all of our names back there.
-
I'm an active ingredient in God's kingdom, and so just a challenge that's your homework this week.
-
Be active, do something this week to point people to Jesus this week to point people to Jesus.
-
Does Jesus care when my heart is pained too deeply for mirth and song, as the burdens press and the cares, distress and the way grows weary and long?
-
Oh, yes, he cares.
-
I know he cares.
-
His heart is touched with my grief.
-
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary, I know my Savior cares, he cares.
-
Does Jesus care when I've tried and failed To resist some temptation?
-
Strong when, for my deep grief, I find no relief, though my tears flow all the night long?
-
I know he cares.
-
His heart is touched with my grief.
-
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary, I know my Savior cares, amen.
-
Will you stand with me as we close this morning?
-
Who am I?
-
that the highest King would welcome me, would welcome me.
-
I was lost, but he brought me in.
-
Oh, his love for me.
-
Oh, his love for me Through the sun sets free.
-
Oh, it's free, indeed free.
-
Oh, it's free.
-
Indeed, I'm a child of God.
-
Yes, I am Free at last.
-
He has ransomed me.
-
His grace runs deep.
-
While I was a slave to sin, jesus died for me.
-
Yes, he died for me.
-
Who the Son sets free?
-
Oh, is free.
-
Indeed, I'm a child of God.
-
Yes, I am In my Father's house.
-
There's a place for me.
-
I'm a child of God, yes, I am.
-
I am chosen, not forsaken.
-
I am who you say I am.
-
You are for me, not against me.
-
I am who you say I am.
-
I am chosen, not forsaken.
-
I am who you say I am.
-
I am who you say I am.
-
Who the Son sets free oh, is free.
-
Indeed, I'm a child of God.
-
Yes, I am In my Father's house.
-
There's a place for me.
-
I'm a child of God.
-
Yes, I am Amen.
-
God bless you everybody.
-
Have a great week.
-
Be an active ingredient this week.
-
Share Jesus with somebody.
