  1. Welcome to Life City. This podcast was created to celebrate what God is doing

  2. and what protects us. Our vision is to reach the hungry, the hurting,

  3. and the hopeless. God has given us our heading. Join us today

  4. as we listen to the Word and we pray that God speaks to you in

  5. this message. The Lord is good, Amen, Amen. And I'm glad

  6. that you're here today because I'm excited for what the Lord wants to do.

  7. Man, I'm excited for what the Lord wants to do in you, hallelujah.

  8. And so there's an expectation. I told those that gathered this morning,

  9. there's an expectation, and I'm expecting the Lord to do something great in us

  10. today. That you're gonna leave a little bit different or maybe a lot different

  11. than what you were when you walked in here, Amen, and that that

  12. might be a good thing, it might be a needed thing, Amen.

  13. Amen. And so I'm also kind of excited to start a new series today.

  14. And this series is going to be kind of a longer one than I

  15. normally do. I usually only do like three or four weeks in a series.

  16. This one may take us all the way through the end of May um

  17. and we'll just see how it goes right and uh, but the the series

  18. is um. I believe it's powerful. I believe it's needed, and it's

  19. it's called mountains move Amen. But the b B B B B B B

  20. B B L. Would you stand with me as we read the word of

  21. the Lord. Zachariah Chapter four, verse six says, then he said to

  22. me, this is the word of the Lord to Zeruba Bill saying, not

  23. by might nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord of

  24. host verse seven, What are you? What are you, oh, great

  25. mountain before zerubable, You will become a plane. You will be brought down,

  26. you will be brought flat, you will be moved. Amen, and

  27. he will bring forth the top stone with shouts of grace grace to it.

  28. Would you pray with me, Lord, we give you honor today and Lord,

  29. over the next several weeks, we're going to talk about things that are

  30. in our life that are mountains, things that we've lived in the shadow of

  31. for far too long. Lord, and I know that there are things in

  32. every one of our lives that you desire to move out. Lord, And

  33. but they have felt too big, they have been there too long, and

  34. they have felt too strong. And I ask you, Lord today God,

  35. to let us walk in your word. Let us walk in obedience as we

  36. look at how our life can have every mountain brought flat, every obstacle removed,

  37. Lord, so that we can walk clearly and powerfully and authoritatively in your

  38. power and your perfect will. I asked your word to take root in us

  39. today in Jesus name, and everyone said, Amen, Amen, and you

  40. can be seated this morning. The names Zerubable means sown in Babylon. Sown

  41. in Babylon. Babylon was a mountain called captivity. This was a time when

  42. the Jewish nation was in captivity in Babylon. And this is when Zerubable was

  43. born. And so he was born into this captivity. And so for the

  44. early part of his life, all he knew was captivity. All he knew

  45. was bondage. All he knew was slavery. That's that's all he knew.

  46. He just that was his inheritance. He inherited this captivity. But it would

  47. be Zerubable that would lead the first Jews out to Jerusalem, and and he

  48. would he would do that in order to rebuild the wall Amen, rebuild Jerusalem.

  49. And so Zerubable was born into captive ativity. He just didn't stay there.

  50. He was born into captivity, he just didn't stay there. Zerubable didn't

  51. let where he was born be an excuse as to why he would stay there.

  52. He didn't let something that was inherited be an excuse as to why he

  53. just continued to live in it. Amen. And I believe in generational sins.

  54. I believe in generational curses. But that don't mean you have to just

  55. accept it and live in it, Amen. I mean you can break it.

  56. That mountain that you inherited, maybe because of somebody in your family,

  57. that mountain can be broken. That mountain can be brought flat. Zerubable is

  58. an example of that exact thing. Amen. And so this series is not

  59. just about mountains moving. It's a faith series. Do you know that this

  60. is about faith? Everyone say faith, and it's so much that I believe

  61. there is a dimension of faith where anything is possible. Now, I figured

  62. that was going to be the response, because I know by just saying that

  63. anything is possible, I met with some in here that are doubting because you

  64. haven't been able to view the horizon of the impossible becoming possible. Because you've

  65. never been able to really see that dimension of faith where everything becomes possible.

  66. And so you've because of that, the only thing you've looked at is a

  67. great mountain of doubt a man, because we live by sight instead of by

  68. faith. Amen. Amen, Am, I am I on the right track

  69. this morning, Amen, because I tell you anything is possible. And I

  70. can stand up here and talk till I'm blew in the face and stand on

  71. my head. I don't know what that would do, but I don't know

  72. if you're doing any good, but I could. I could do everything in

  73. my power to convince you. But until until you get over doubt, it's

  74. useless in your life. Amen. Amen. And so what I've realized is

  75. that doubt, and maybe your doubt is has limited God's ability to work in

  76. It has kept your faith in check, Amen. It has kept your doubt,

  77. has kept your faith under submission. And you heard that right that You're

  78. allowed doubts in your life to hold your faith hostage. And you're expecting and

  79. you're asking God to work through your doubt instead of work through your faith.

  80. If you read Hebrews eleven, it says by faith they accomplished these things by

  81. faith. Abraham did this by faith. Moses did this by faith, by

  82. faith. By faith, they subdued kingdoms. They saw this happen, and

  83. saw that happened by faith. The Spirit told Peter, doubt nothing. Go

  84. to Cornelius's house and doubt nothing. Amen. Doubt is hindering the Church's ability

  85. to see the supernatural at in action on a regular basis. Amen, because

  86. we just we just can't bring our minds to accept it. And that's the

  87. problem as we get our minds involved, and it prevents us from every wall

  88. ever walking in the realm of faith, where mountains move, where walls fall,

  89. where prison doors open, and where graves give way to the dead.

  90. Amen. And I believe those things can still happen. Anybody believe that?

  91. Amen? Do you really believe that? Amen? Do you really believe that

  92. the impossible is possible? Amen? Because it's that mountain of doubt that you've

  93. been staring at and unable to move, unable to conquer it, that has

  94. dimmed the light and the power of the Word of God in your life.

  95. Because you can open this wonderful, amazing, powerful book and you can read

  96. it, and you can read about the miracles, and you can read about

  97. the supernatural things. Your mind is filling up with doubt. Why, well,

  98. it's just yeah, that's a little far fetched. Amen. Without faith,

  99. is impossible to please God. Amen. And you read, but you're

  100. not able to reap the power and the benefit of its authority because of the

  101. mountain of doubt that has cast a shadow over your entire mind, heart,

  102. and life. And it's about time to break down and destroy the mountain of

  103. doubt that's been built up in your life. Amen. Doubt has to go.

  104. Amen. Doubt has to go, Amen, because if we want to

  105. see the things of God and see, this is the thing about faith,

  106. we understand what Hebrews eleven one says, it's a substance of things, hope

  107. for the evidence of things. What that's where that's where we get off the

  108. bus. See evidence of things not seen a man, I'll believe it when

  109. I see it. That's not faith at all. That's the opposite of faith.

  110. Amen. Well, I'm just not a faith based person. Well,

  111. you know, I hate to tell you this, but without faith, you

  112. can't please him. That's scripture. Without faith, it's impossible to please him.

  113. Amen. And so this is the thing about faith. I read about

  114. miracles, as we all do. I read about supernatural things happening in this

  115. wonderful book, and the reality is I don't. I didn't have to be

  116. there when Peter walked on water to believe it. I didn't have to be

  117. there when Lazarus walked out of that grave to believe it. I didn't have

  118. to be present in the physical realm when Jesus fed five thousand to believe it

  119. and understand it. I missed all of those things by about two thousand years

  120. and a few more years. I missed them. I didn't have to be

  121. there, Amen, hallelujah. But this is the deal. I also wasn't

  122. there when my dad was a child and received a miracle in his life.

  123. I also wasn't present for some other incredible things that happened ten fifteen, twenty

  124. years before I was born, some things that are God did that were supernatural

  125. in nature. I wasn't there for those either. And so this is what

  126. we're left with. Do we have faith or do we not? Do we

  127. have faith to believe for the miraculous or do we not? Because honestly,

  128. folks, there is no middle ground, there is no gray area where I

  129. kind of believe, and I kind of don't. Any amount of unbelief is

  130. full unbelief. Amen. You either believe this word to be true or you

  131. don't. You either believe every word in it to be the gospel and to

  132. be the truth by God's own hand and God's own word, or you don't.

  133. Amen. There's no middle ground. There's no riding defense. There's something

  134. that words says about fence walkers and riding defense and being lukewarm. I hate

  135. lukewarm water. Amen. It's either got to be cold or it's got to

  136. be hot. Amen. And he kind of he talks about spewing out those

  137. that are lukewarm. Amen. Well, I believe this part, but I

  138. can't believe. No, any amount of unbelief is unbelief. Amen. We've

  139. got to remove doubt from our mind so that faith can unlock the door for

  140. God to move in the supernatural in our life. If you want mountains to

  141. fall, it begins with faith, It begins that it's possible. It begins

  142. with understanding and believing what it says in this word. Amen. I can't

  143. have my cake and eat it too if my cake is filled with unbelief.

  144. Amen. If I want the things of God. I've got to just trust

  145. him. I can't stand up here day and make every single word in this

  146. book makes sense to your mind. You know why, because this book is

  147. infinite and our minds have limits. Amen, So I can't tell you and

  148. explain everything to you to bring the light bulb on. The light bulb is

  149. not brought on by intellect. The lightbulb is brought on by simply believing that

  150. this word is true and God is God and he wants to move in our

  151. lives. Amen. Without faith, it's impossible to please there for all of

  152. those wonderful things to happen. But you know what I do. Read where

  153. Jesus was talking to some people that were actually there and John chapter twenty,

  154. verse twenty nine, bring that verse up, and Jesus is coming from Jesus,

  155. okayn't One of the time was, well you know what Jesus talking.

  156. This is Jesus talking, okay. And he said to him, because you

  157. have seen me, have you believed? And then he brings all of us

  158. into the picture. Blessed are they who did not see and yet believed.

  159. Leave that up. Blessed are they who did not see and believed? Amen.

  160. Blest are those who don't have to see it to believe it's true.

  161. Amen. And so it boils down to this. If you want some mountains

  162. in your life moved, there's gonna come a point where you have to just

  163. lay it all on the line. Do I believe them or do I not?

  164. And it's as simple as that. I'm not trying to complicate this thing.

  165. I'm not trying to bring some level of intellect that that that muddies the

  166. water. All I'm telling you is that this whole thing, my relationship with

  167. Him, my salvation, everything be at the very beginning with faith. What

  168. can you believe him for? Why don't you ask yourself that question right now?

  169. What can you believe him for? Faith is focus? Okay, you

  170. can either focus on your problems or you can focus on his promises. You

  171. can focus on your problems or you can focus on his promises. One way

  172. or the other, your focus is going to determine and your reality. If

  173. all you ever focus on is your problem, then guess what's gonna reign in

  174. your life? Guess where your faith is going to be targeted in your problem?

  175. When you start focusing on the promises of God, well, I can't

  176. explain his promises. It doesn't matter if you can explain him to me or

  177. not. You See, this is the thing about faith. When you have

  178. faith that God is a healer, whether he heals or not does not change

  179. the fact that God is a healer. Uh. I've known a whole life

  180. that God is a healer. I've been taught it. I've watched God heal

  181. people. I've watched God heal cancer. I've watched God heal miraculous things in

  182. people's life. I watched God heal a three and a half inch fracture in

  183. my two year old skull. I watched it happen. I heal my dad

  184. of als. That does not change the fact that God is still a healer.

  185. And my faith has not been waned. My faith is still in the

  186. fact that God is a healer. Why because in this it says by his

  187. stripes we are healed. Whether He does it or not does not diminish my

  188. ability to believe that He can do it. Amen, And this is the

  189. deal. This is the deal. I believe so many people are sitting there

  190. just beating their head up against the wall of your mountain and it won't move,

  191. and it won't move it's because you've grown into this arena of believing more

  192. in the presence of the mountain and than in the power of a God.

  193. Amen. And it's time to shift what you believe in. It's time to

  194. shift and redirect where your faith is pointed. It's time to believe that anything

  195. is possible with God. And we can stitch Philippians three fourteen on a pillow,

  196. we can stitch it on our forehead, we can stitch it anywhere and

  197. through Christ, all things are possible. Well, yeah, all things are

  198. possible. But we can stitch it and carry it around everywhere we go and

  199. still not live it. It's not out what's written on a pillow. It's

  200. about what's written on your heart, what's written on your mind, what's written

  201. on your faith. Amen. Amen. The church has to be a place

  202. where faith is growing strong. You don't have to have a mountain of faith

  203. to move a molehill. You have to have a mustard seat of faith to

  204. move a mountain. That's all the scripture tells me. I'm not telling you

  205. to have great faith, have a little faith in a great, big God.

  206. Amen. And anything with faith faith brings us across the dimension of what's

  207. possible and what's impossible. Amen. You want to dwell in spiritual things start

  208. with the ability to believe His word. And the moment you hear that voice

  209. of doubt coming into your mind, you've got to rebuke it in the name

  210. of Jesus. You've got to get it out of your life. Why because

  211. that seed that is planted of doubt becomes a mountain before you. Amen.

  212. And so anything before you walk through the the the ability for God to deliver

  213. you from an addiction, before he deals with any other mountain. We've got

  214. to get the mountain of doubt brought down to a plane. Amen. Amen,

  215. because I've watched it. I've watched it. Hinder I mentioned earlier that

  216. even though Zerubable was born into captivity, even though the mountain of bondage was

  217. something he inherited, that he didn't stay there. And some of you here

  218. today, having having inherited some mountains, you've been living your life under a

  219. shadow of a mountain that you didn't even bring into your own life. But

  220. Zerubable didn't stay in captivity. He led the Jews. Did he do it?

  221. He made a decision at some point in his life that even though he

  222. had been born in the shadow of this mountain. He wasn't going to submit

  223. to it. He wasn't going to submit to this thing. And there are

  224. mountains in your life that are still there and you haven't been able to move

  225. them, because somewhere along the way you submit to your mountain. Somewhere along

  226. the way you just accepted its presence in your life. Somewhere along the way

  227. your faith shifted from what God, what is possible with God, to the

  228. presence of that mountain being in your life. And it's just a part.

  229. It's my cross to bear. That's a life from the day. Do you

  230. know the devil has the ability to use scripture against you. Just read where

  231. Jesus was in the wilderness. He used scripture against Jesus. He's not the

  232. smartest bloke in the world, but I mean he is persistent. Okay,

  233. this is the thing. The devil will try to use scripture against you to

  234. deceive your mind, and your mind will deceive your heart and then it gets

  235. all twisted. Amen. And so there's this thing where these mountains are in

  236. our life. And just because we haven't been able to get them out,

  237. and because we haven't seen this happen, or that happened. We've just come

  238. to the mountain. But I want to tell you that you were not called

  239. to submit to the mountain. James four and seven says, submit yourself then

  240. to who to God? Submit yourself to God. That sounds very simple,

  241. That sounds very easy. Well, guess what it is. But it has

  242. to be done on a regular basis. Hey man, I have to constantly

  243. submit my life to him. I have to constantly submit my direction team him.

  244. I have to constantly submit myself to him. He says, submit yourself

  245. then to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

  246. See it's that simple. We make it hard, we make it difficult,

  247. we make it complicated. We want to why why is it get so complicated?

  248. To simply submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee

  249. from you. That sounds so simple. Guess what it is. Because he's

  250. so powerful. But it starts with faith. And what happens is I've talked

  251. with people and that said, well, you know, I know what the

  252. word says, but see that you've got to lose that. I heard a

  253. preacher said you got to lose your button. Thank he was talking about you

  254. know. I hope he was at least, but you do. You've got

  255. to get rid of this. Well, you've got to get rid of this.

  256. I know what the scripture says, but this is what I've seen.

  257. Man. You know what that is at the seed of doubt, And it's

  258. being planted, that seed being planted in your life and in your mind.

  259. And before long you look up and you're living in the shadow of a mountain

  260. called doubt. And you wonder, why why can't I see things happen?

  261. Why can't Because you've allowed those seeds of doubt. You've allowed a molehill to

  262. become a mountain in your life. James four ten says, humble yourself before

  263. the Lord, and he will lift you up. This is the thing.

  264. Leave that verse up. He will elevate you. Humble yourself, submit yourself

  265. before the Lord, and he will elevate you. I don't need my mountain

  266. to elevate me. I don't need my mountain to elevate me. God does

  267. the elevating. If I'll just submit to him, if you'll humble yourself before

  268. him, the mountain can become a plane, the sea becomes a highway,

  269. the grave becomes a resurrection when we humble ourselves before him and we submit ourselves

  270. to him, understanding that he is God. I'm not God. He's God.

  271. He knows what's good for my life. He knows what's perfect for my

  272. life. It's his will that I need to follow. And it matters to

  273. want to submit. It matters. He may look at somebody, say it

  274. matters because what you submit to. Listen, this, what you submit to

  275. will lead to what you tolerate in your life. And too many times there's

  276. some of you that have been tolerating some things that have become mountains in your

  277. life. Amen. And you've been tolerating sin, and you've been putting up

  278. with sin, and you've been tolerating doubt, and you've been tolerating this and

  279. unbelief and strife and all of these things. And you wonder why there's mountains

  280. in your life. Amen. Our society is in it right now. Our

  281. society wants to preach toleration, Amen, but yet they don't tolerate the things

  282. of God. Amen. So I wanna show you something. Revelations chapter two,

  283. Yep, I'm going to Revelations A Revelations chapter two, Verse nineteen.

  284. Jesus was talking to the angel was talking to the church at Thyatira, and

  285. it says, I know thy works, and I know your charity, I

  286. know your service, I even know your faith, I know your patient,

  287. I know your works. And the last to be more than the first.

  288. So the Angel tells them, I know all of these things about you,

  289. and that's in. These things are good things, and these things are great

  290. things. And then in verse twenty it says, notwithstanding I have a few

  291. things against you. Why because thou sufferest that which callest herself a prophetess to

  292. teach and seduce my servants, to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrifice

  293. unto idols. That word leave verse twenty up that word in verse twenty that

  294. says sufferest means tolerate. Because you tolerate that woman, Jezebel, You better

  295. be careful what you tolerate in your life, in your marriage, in your

  296. home, and in your children, because if you tolerate a spirit of strife,

  297. guess what's coming. If you tolerate a spirit of fear, guess what's

  298. coming. Guess what your next mountain's gonna be. If you tolerate a spirit

  299. of perversion, it guess what's coming. There's gonna be a mountain built up

  300. in your life, and you may very well find yourself submitting to the mountain

  301. then instead of God. Amen. And because the enemy wants a foothold in

  302. your life. And if you tolerate the little things, it's the little foxes

  303. that spoil the vine. That's what the word of God says. Okay.

  304. And if you if you tolerate the little things, the little sins, then

  305. the mole hill becomes a mountain in your life, and you start living under

  306. the shadow of this mountain. But here is the good news. You can

  307. rebuke it. You can rebuke it, you can repent of it. And

  308. if you do, if you repent of it and you rebuke it, guess

  309. what a mountain returns to a mole hill. Amen, through the power of

  310. God, through his ability to move and work in your life. Man,

  311. I want my wife to come. In Zachariah chapter four, verse ten,

  312. I want you to see this, for who has despised the day of small

  313. things when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubable. The plumb

  314. line was an ancient measuring tool. It was used to measure things they hadn't

  315. even started building or rebuilding. They were just measuring what was going to happen

  316. in Jerusalem. I want you to know that God is already celebrating your victory.

  317. He's just waiting on your faith to activate it. God is not great

  318. because nothing is too big. We understand that God is great because nothing is

  319. too small. It was Elijah that goes to the mountain and looks for him

  320. in the big things, but finds him in the still small voice, in

  321. the still small a man. And I knew the enemy was not gonna like

  322. this message. And he's done his best to distract today. But I rebuke

  323. that in Jesus name. Amen. He's done his best, but he has

  324. no place here in the presence of God. Amen. Amen. The Lord

  325. rejoices over those small acts of obedience. He rejoices over the small steps of

  326. faith that you and I take over small sacrifices. But he doesn't just rejoice

  327. over them, he honors them. And so if you do the little things

  328. like they are big things, God does the big things like their little things.

  329. And as you stand with me this morning, I wonder if you just

  330. close your eyes all over this place despise not the day of small things.

  331. We all know the saying Rome wasn't built in a day. You're mountain may

  332. not be shattered to a plane. Today. There is one thing you can

  333. do. You can take a step of faith today, one step, one

  334. move to deal with the mountain of doubt that has been created in your life

  335. and been created in your mind the day of small things this morning, this

  336. morning isn't about doing something huge. It's about taking one, one simple,

  337. single step. I'm going to ask you to simply submit to God today.

  338. All I'm going to ask you today is to submit to Him, submit to

  339. his will, submit to his word, submit to his mind. Just submit

  340. to Him today. Is that going to unlock understanding to where you understand every

  341. word in Scripture? Probably not. But I don't have to be able to

  342. properly explain every word in Scripture to know that my salvation is in Him and

  343. that my faith must be in Him. And so if you want that mountain

  344. of doubt removed, quit submitting to that doubt and submit to God today.

  345. That's all I'm asking, That's all. This is the first step in moving

  346. your mountain is submitting to God. And as an entire church, I wonder

  347. if we could do that right now all over this place, the front of

  348. this is open for an altar. Your seat can become an altar. Where

  349. you stand can become an altar. But every single one of us need to

  350. build an altar and submit our will to Him be God, Let him be

  351. king, let him be savior, let him be Jehovah of your life.

  352. Not just something Life City does, something we do, every single one of

  353. us. Would you where you're at today you can see out. Thank you
