  1. Welcome to Life City. This podcast was created to celebrate what God is doing

  2. and what protectas. Our vision is to reach the hungry, the hurting,

  3. and the hopeless. God has given us our heading. Join us today as

  4. we listen to the Word and we pray that God speaks to you in this

  5. message. As a kid, I took a few months lessons of taekwondo.

  6. Yeah I did. Yeah, Taylor, get thee behind me, Satan,

  7. you want me to hurt myself right here in front of everybody, I will

  8. not be demonstrating my taekwondo days. The reason I did it was because I

  9. really wanted to be cool like Bruce Lee. I'm telling my age some of

  10. you like Bruce who Bruce Lee was the master man Saturday Morning Kung Fu.

  11. He was the man. He even whipped up on seven foot one Kareem Abdul

  12. Dabar in one of his movies, Tallest Due to ever get beat up by

  13. the shortest guy you know is David and Goliath is kind of what it was.

  14. But I'd been in a few scraps and I wanted to be able to

  15. do a roundhouse kick like Bruce Lee. That was the whole vision in my

  16. head was taekwondo who you know, karate kid, whatever that pose is called.

  17. You know that kind of thing. But the problem was, I never

  18. made it past the duck walking lessons that we did for a solid week.

  19. I was three days in and the duck walking and I'm like, nope,

  20. it ain't it ain't worked. I'll just use my fist. I don't need

  21. to use my feet. Yeah, and I was out. My brother and

  22. his friends kept on and I ducked out and I did something else. But

  23. I realized that the Psalmist, David, I think had a little Bruce Lee

  24. in him, even though David lived a long, long, long time before

  25. Oh Brucey did. Psalms one nineteen is the longest chapter in a Bible by

  26. a long shot. It's a pulps of twenty two different stanzas, and every

  27. stanza is separated by and begins with one of the twenty two letters of the

  28. Hebrew alphabet. In those twenty two stanzas and all of those verses, there

  29. are eleven times in this chapter that the Psalmist uses the word quicken or quickened.

  30. And so we're gonna look at that. And so if you have your

  31. Bibles or you can. We're gonna have it on the screen. Psalms one

  32. nineteen, We're gonna look at just three of them, where he uses the

  33. word quicken. Psalms one nineteen, verse twenty five says, my soul cleaveth

  34. unto the dust. Quicken thou me according to thy word. Jumping down a

  35. few to verse thirty seven, he says, turn away mine eyes from beholding

  36. vanity, and quicken thou me in thy way. Jumping down to verse ninety

  37. three if Psalms one nineteen, he says, I will never forget thy precepts,

  38. for with them thou hast quickened me. The reason I said that the

  39. Psalmist David had a little Bruce Lee in him is because when you look up

  40. that word quick and you see the Hebrew word for quicken, and it's pronunciation,

  41. it's pronunciation is hiya. It is I promise, I'm not making that

  42. up. It is hia like a karate chop. So David was saying,

  43. hiya, thou me according to thy word. That's crazy, huh. Or

  44. maybe Bruce Lee had a little bit of Salmist David in him. Let's we

  45. will say that. But that word quicken literally is pronounced hiya. That's great.

  46. I couldn't make this stuff up. The Psalm, the Psalmist says,

  47. quickened me according to thy word, and that that that word quicken, that

  48. phrase, it's synonymous with what we're talking about, with being stirred, synonymous

  49. with this stirring that we've been we started talking about last week. It means

  50. to be restored. It means that word quicken. To stir means to restore,

  51. to refresh, to revive, to resurrect. It means to conceive to

  52. hayat, That's what it means. So I've looked forward to continuing in our

  53. Stirred series today because this is the truth. The Holy goat a quickening within

  54. us. Amen. Amen. It revives us, It restores us, It

  55. renews us. It brings about a resurrection in our life. That's what the

  56. spirit does. That's the stirring of the spirit. To be stirred is to

  57. be given life, Amen. Anybody testify to that. It's to be made

  58. animated. It's it's when God breathe life into atom. Adam became an animated

  59. creature creation a man. That breath of God began to work its way through

  60. that body made from dust, think of this. He forms Adam out of

  61. the dust of the ground, and then he breathed life into his nostrils.

  62. And it's in that moment as that breath begins to trickle through his body and

  63. into his nostrils and activating the brain and working its way down and impacting every

  64. organ that it comes in contact with. And when breath is oxygen reaches the

  65. organ, it becomes to be animated. It becomes working and functioning and operating

  66. the way the creator designed it. The organ began to function and operate.

  67. I'm sure you've seen a movie, a documentary, or watched the surgery channel

  68. where they do transplants. It was amazing to me. The first transplant I

  69. watched, not in person, I'd have passed out. It's not the blood,

  70. it's all the other stuff that I'm like, yeah, it's I'm out.

  71. But I watched a transplant. And as they took this donated organ and

  72. they put it inside of this body, which is amazing to me, and

  73. they made all the necessary attachment, they plugged it in and all the places

  74. it's supposed to be plugged in. They waited and they waited for that organ

  75. to begin to operate and in this process. It wasn't a very long process,

  76. thankfully, but it was. It was. It was amazing as that

  77. organ began to receive oxygen, because you know what it did. As soon

  78. as it began to receive oxygen, it began to change colors. And as

  79. it began to change colors, it began to move, it began to function.

  80. And you could see the impact of that one organ as it began to

  81. receive that that that oxygen, that breath, that it impacted all of the

  82. other organs that it was plugged into. That's the beauty of the creation of

  83. the body. Amen. Amen, And to think the breath of God.

  84. Did that do this? Did you brush your teeth after that coffee? You

  85. know what my wife did to me this morning. I brushed my teeth,

  86. I did I do? And I got to church. But after I brushed

  87. my teeth, I drink one, two, three cups of coffee. I

  88. don't remember. I could lost count. And how's up here praying? And

  89. she walked up to me, asked me a question. I answered it.

  90. She walked off a few seconds later, she walks back up to me and

  91. reaches out and grabs my head. I thought she was being sweet. She

  92. was handing me a piece of gum that's messed up. She was saying,

  93. as nicely as she could, your breath stinks. So I did chew the

  94. gum. Dennis hooked me up with cements, some searts, those kind of

  95. things. So start backing up. I'll put him mint in and so we

  96. can continue our conversation. But there's something powerful about the functionality and the ability

  97. to breathe that when God breathed life, and that's what the Holy Spirit does

  98. within us. That's the power and the operation of the Holy Ghost. It

  99. activates the things of God. It activates spiritual things in our life in order

  100. to get them to begin to operate and function as designed. The Holy Ghost

  101. begins to activate the fruit of the Spirit. Do you see how that works.

  102. Amen. I can't have the fruit of the Spirit without the spirit that

  103. gives life to the fruit. Amen. And so the Holy Ghost, the

  104. Holy Spirit gives life. It animates the fruit of the Spirit. It also

  105. gives life, and it activates the giftings of the spirit, the gifting of

  106. the Spirit. You've got to allow your life to be stirred, to be

  107. moved, to be quickened by the Holy Spirit. Amen. Paul wrote in

  108. Romans chapter eight, verse five, he said, for they that are after

  109. the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, But they that are after

  110. the spirit the things of the spirit. He says, to be carnally minded

  111. is death. That's pretty serious language there. He doesn't mince words there.

  112. He understands to be carnally minded means is death. To be focused and so

  113. much attention paid upon what happens on this life and pay and disregard to the

  114. eternal. He's saying, that's death. But to be spiritually minded is life

  115. and peace. He says, because the carnal mind is enmity against God.

  116. That literally means an enemy. The carnal mind is an enemy against God against

  117. strong language, not my language. Apostle Paul, you got an issue with

  118. it, take it up with him, good luck, for it is not

  119. subject to the law of God. Neither indeed can be. You see,

  120. the very precepts that David said quick in his soul are no effect due to

  121. carnality of the mind. Amen. That's powerful. It's a powerful statement.

  122. Amen that that doesn't mean that we walk around, you know, so spiritually

  123. minded. We're no heavenly good. I know earthly good. My dad,

  124. you say, don't be so heavenly minded, you're no earthly good. Amen.

  125. That you can't talk to people because they're below you. You know that

  126. we still are flesh and blood. Pinch yourself you feel that, Okay,

  127. we're good. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

  128. But you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit. If everyone

  129. say, if if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you,

  130. what the Holy Ghost does? Leave that verse up? He says, you're

  131. not in the flesh, but in the spirit. He just spent two verses

  132. telling us the issue with the flesh, that we can't please God if we're

  133. in the flesh. So how do we get out of the flesh? If

  134. the Spirit of God dwell in you, it is the baptism of the Holy

  135. Ghost that allows your nature to be changed from fleshly to spiritually. That's why

  136. it's so important to allow the move of the Spirit to stir us, to

  137. quicken us, to breathe once again into our lives. Amen. Amen.

  138. An, he says, now, if any man have not the Spirit of

  139. Christ, he is none of his Verse ten. And if Christ be in

  140. you, the body is dead because of sin. But the spirit is what

  141. life because of righteousness. Amen. But if the spirit of Him that raised

  142. up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from

  143. the dead, shall also quicken your mortal bodies. It will also haya your

  144. mortal bodies. By the spirit that dwelleth in you, breathe life, bring

  145. a revival in your heart, to a revival in your mind. I've told

  146. it before. There's something to be said. I've heard people pray Lord sin

  147. revival in America. You know where revival starts in America, in your life

  148. and in my life, it starts in here. It starts in here,

  149. hallelujah. And it only happens by the power of His Spirit. Amen.

  150. That quickening, that stirring, that sudden infusion of life that only the Holy

  151. Ghost can give us is what brings about a resurrection. Amen. Verse ten.

  152. Go back to verse ten. The body is dead, but the spirit

  153. is life. The body is dead, lifeless, hopeless, broken as a

  154. result of sin, because Scripture tells us when sin is finished, it brings

  155. forth death. Amen. But the breath of the Spirit in your life brings

  156. about a resuscitation. It gives life and animation to what once was dead.

  157. Amen, because there are things in your life everyone here that sin has tried

  158. to kill, steal and destroy. There are things in your life with that

  159. God has blessed you with that. God has empowered you with that. The

  160. enemy and sin has tried to kill, steal, and destroy Roy Why because

  161. he's afraid of it and he don't want you to activate it to He don't

  162. want you to walk in it. He don't want you to operated it.

  163. And so but the Spirit of Truth is here this morning to breathe life back

  164. into what wants was dead, to breathe life. I hear the voice of

  165. the spirit this morning, calling from outside of the tomb. Come forth,

  166. Come forth. There is the dead things that you thought your past had killed.

  167. There are things of God, There are callings, There are purposes,

  168. there are promises. There are annointings that you thought were dead because of sin.

  169. But here this morning I hear the voice of the Spirit, wanting to

  170. breathe life into your calling, wanting to breathe life into your wanting to breathe

  171. life, wanting to resuscitate your promise, wanting to resuscitate your anointing. What

  172. God has placed in you a man. You were one fearfully and wonderfully made

  173. a man. He told the prophet Jeremiah before you were even conceived. I

  174. knew you. I had a plan for you. And then the Jeremiah is

  175. no better than you and I. He put his britches on one leg at

  176. a time like you and I do. Hey man, And so if he

  177. had a plan for Jeremiah, he's got a plan for you. And I

  178. know sin may have been a part of your life for however many years.

  179. And I know there are some things that you thought where have been buried long

  180. ago. But I know I know the one that can speak life back into

  181. anything that he deems worthy to be living. Really our man. I've heard

  182. people talk about their calling. Well, I used to be well in another

  183. time, I felt a calling here. Well, I that somehow your life

  184. has changed God's will. Do you really believe that your mistakes can change the

  185. will of God for your life? If we believe he says, you know

  186. what he says about his word, He says it will accomplish. It will

  187. not return void to me until it accomplishes what it was set out to do.

  188. If he has spoken an anointing over your life until you as long as

  189. there's breath in your body, that word is still active. There's like four

  190. people that believe that. Come on, I'm serious, because you sinned.

  191. Sin does not have the final say. Now we don't continue in it.

  192. Amen, we understand that. But if you've ever felt a calling of God,

  193. ever been confirmed in your life, Amen, The Holy Ghost comes when

  194. one for one reason to breathe life back into the things that you thought had

  195. already died. Amen. Some of you are living so far below what God

  196. wants to do in your life. Some of you are living so far beneath

  197. where God's will and design for your life is. And all you need to

  198. allow him to do is to begin to breathe life back. The ministry you

  199. thought was dead can be resurrected by the breath of power and baptism of the

  200. Holy Spirit. That gifting you thought was lost just needs to be resuscitated by

  201. the breath of the Spirit. To that anointing that you were convinced you forfeited

  202. can confunction again by the power of the Holy Ghost. Amen. Exodus thirty

  203. seven, I mean Ezekiel thirty seven, Verse one. The hand of the

  204. Lord was upon me, and he carried me out in the spirit of the

  205. Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley that was full

  206. of bones. As the prophet stands in the middle of this valley in verse

  207. nine of Ezekiel thirty seven. Then he said, unto me, prophesy,

  208. unto the wind, prophesy, son of Man, And say to the wind,

  209. thus says the Lord God. You see the boy. Do you believe

  210. in the power of his word. If you believe in the power of his

  211. word, there's nothing that can't be brought to life. Amen. And so

  212. he says, Thus says the Lord God, Come from the four winds.

  213. Oh what, oh what? Breath and breathe upon these slain, that they

  214. may live. Breathe upon these that were slain. Breathe upon these bones that

  215. lay here disconnected. Breathe upon these broken, shattered pieces of what wants where

  216. men? Breathe upon this pile of dry, dead bones. Breathe upon these

  217. that were slain. Breathe upon these that have been defeated by a battle.

  218. Come on, somebody, catch where I'm going. Breathe upon these that have

  219. been broken, Breathe upon these that have felt hopelessness, that when people look

  220. at them, Oh, there's that person's hopeless because they're try and they're dead,

  221. and it's a pile of try bones. Breathe upon these that have felt

  222. the stain of sin. Breathe upon these that were slain, that they may

  223. live. And in verse ten, he'll being a good boy, he said.

  224. So I prophesied as he commanded me. That's the start. So I

  225. prophesied as he commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived

  226. and stood upon their feet and exceeding great army. This church is made up

  227. of people that not long ago or just a pile of lifeless bones. But

  228. your purpose didn't die, I said, Your purpose did not and there was

  229. still life in your life, in your calling. There is still life in

  230. your anointing. All it takes is a stirring from the breath of the Holy

  231. Ghost to turn everything around in your life. Ephesians chapter two, Verse one,

  232. He says, and you has he haya, You're gonna do that from

  233. now on, I promise you. You're gonna see the word quicken. You're

  234. gonna yeah, and you're gonna judy chop somebody right there next to you.

  235. Don't don't Judy chop anybody? Oh London used to go around the house,

  236. Judy chopping me. She'd like sneak up on me and do a surprise attack.

  237. Man, and you hath he quickened? Who were what? You were

  238. dead because of your trestpasses. I was dead because of my trespasses and my

  239. sin. Amen. And he says, I'm gonna revive what was dead?

  240. Why? Because I'm not finished with it? If he was finished with you,

  241. why would he revive you? It's with you? Why would he empower

  242. you? If you had done all you need to do? Why are you

  243. still breathing? Why are you still walking around? Why is your physical body

  244. still in operation? If he's if he's done with you, if you've done

  245. everything. So if you're breathing today, yeah, if we're If you're breathing

  246. today, Amen, that means he's not finished with you. I'm gonna say

  247. that again because I usually don't preach for a response, but I'm preaching for

  248. a response right now. If you're still breathing, he's not finished with you.

  249. I don't know, pastor you don't know what she's done. Jesus does,

  250. and he's the one that's reviving her. Amen. I don't have to

  251. know. It doesn't matter what I see. It doesn't matter what Ezekiel saw,

  252. It matters what God commanded him to do. Speak, let breath come

  253. back into what you think is ted, what you think is hopeless. And

  254. I'm standing here today and I can see from my viewpoints and my advantage point,

  255. there are some people that might speak things over your life because what they

  256. see may look hopeless, and maybe something that's been spoken in the past over

  257. you, and I rebuke that death in Jesus's name, and I speak life

  258. by the power of the Holy Ghost over you. All right, I gotta

  259. go on wherein in times past we wos of this world according to the Prince

  260. of the Power of the Air, the Spirit that now worketh in the children

  261. of disobedience, That's who we were. That was our identity. So you

  262. need to realize that the stirring, the quickening in your life by the Spirit

  263. is because he's not finished with you. There's more for you to do.

  264. There are greater moves of the Spirit to come in your life. You haven't

  265. reached the summit of what God wants to do in you and through you.

  266. Okay, next week, I'm we'll talk about Philip, and I'm there.

  267. Every ounce of bought an energy in me right now wants to just dive off

  268. into Philip. But I this my entire message next week, Zach. So

  269. if I do, I'm gonna destroy everything I want to preach about. Okay.

  270. So that's a teaser, and I'm gonna move on or I'll give everything

  271. away. I hate I'm a bad teaser. Okay. So there are greater

  272. moves, There are greater opportunities for you to minister in your future. Whatever

  273. you've done for God is good, but what's ahead of you is even greater.

  274. Do we believe that? If he continues an Ephesians chapter two or four,

  275. he says, but God, who is rich in mercy, thankful for

  276. that for his great love. Wherewith he loved us verse five, Even when

  277. we were dead in sin, Hath quickened us together with Christ by grace,

  278. you are saved in verse six, And Hath raised us up together. He

  279. revived, He resesses it dated. He called you out of darkness into his

  280. marvelous light, and made us sit together in heavenly places. In Christ,

  281. Jesus, there is an elect calling on your life. See are you calling

  282. everybody to be a preacher. I'm not saying what you're called to do.

  283. I'm just saying there's a calling why, because that's what I read in here.

  284. Amen. Amen. I read somewhere about it being a chosen generation,

  285. a royal priesthood. I read somewhere else where it talks about pressed toward the

  286. mark of the high calling. I don't know what your Bible reads, that's

  287. what and my Bible is talking about me and you. And it doesn't say

  288. if you haven't sinned, if you haven't messed up, because sin is so

  289. strong that the power of God holds no candle to the power of sin.

  290. But unfortunately that sometimes that's how we live, that what we've done some power,

  291. somehow overpowers what God wants to do. Amen. According to me and

  292. according to my Bible, the Holy Ghost can do anything the will of God

  293. desires. Amen. So okay, that's why the voice of the Spirit has

  294. been speaking to you. That's why you've dreamed the dreams that you've dreamed.

  295. That's why you're having the conversations you're having. That's why God's placing you in

  296. front of the people. He's placing youth thought it was for this or for

  297. that But what God's doing is he the He's the master chess player. He's

  298. position positioning you to work through you. If you'll allow your heart and your

  299. mind to be stirred by his spirit. Amen, that's what he's doing.

  300. It's the stirring of the spirit that is bringing about and awakening a reviving into

  301. your life. Amen. As sorry, bring me a musician Epheesis. Yet

  302. if you don't, if you don't get that joke, that's not a joke.

  303. But if you if you don't get that terminology is a message. Ephesians,

  304. Chapter two, verse nineteen says, Now therefore you are no more strangers

  305. and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God.

  306. And you are built upon the foundation of the prophet or the apostles and

  307. prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone. Everyone say amen,

  308. and whom all everyone say, All the building, fitly framed together, fitly

  309. framed together, groweth in the Lord. And then verse twenty two, and

  310. whom you also are built together? Why for inhabitation of God through the Spirit.

  311. All of this so that you and I might be inhabited by the Holy

  312. Spirit, the creation of the Church, the Book of Acts, the New

  313. Testament, all of it, His death, burial and resurrection, all of

  314. it, so that He could take us and perfectly fitly frame us together as

  315. the Body of Christ. Not to just come together and have pot lux,

  316. No, so that we would be a habitation of the Holy Ghost to dwell

  317. in, not around, not over, but in your function in the Body

  318. of Christ. Exist to give place for the Holy Spirit to work through you.

  319. So when we are ate as one body, empowered by one spirit,

  320. God receives the glory. Did you stand with me a man, Matt?

  321. You let him know? All right? I was told that as soon as

  322. I have people stand or at the musician, income is already at work making

  323. sure he's got a table at Texas Roadhouse. I ain't gonna tell you who

  324. told me that, Matt. Before they get to Texas Roadhouse, before you

  325. get to wherever you're gonna go, eat and dine and fellowship. I wonder

  326. if you would be willing to give the Spirit of God one more opportunity.

  327. I wonder if you would be willing to allow the Holy Ghost to speak,

  328. to move, to stir you one more time before you walk out of here,

  329. not that this is the only place that the Holy Ghost can stir you,

  330. not that this is the only place that the Voice of the Spirit can

  331. speak. But while we gather in one mind, in one accord, I

  332. wonder, before we are dismissed and we go out here and we are baptize

  333. those that have come today to be baptized in the wonderful name of Jesus.

  334. And even baptism, old things are passed away. Behold, it become new.

  335. It's the process of baptism, that cleansing, that new birth. Amen.

  336. Before we go into all of that, I wonder if you would let

  337. the Holy Ghost quicken you, stir you, maybe breathe life into an area

  338. of your life that you thought was dead, that you thought was hopeless,
