  1. Welcome to Life City. This podcast was created to celebrate

  2. what God is doing and what protects us. Our vision

  3. is to reach the hungry, the hurdy, and the hopeless.

  4. God has given us our heading. Join us today as

  5. we listen to the Word and we pray that God

  6. speaks to you in this message.

  7. We're going to continue in our Summer of Miracles talking

  8. about the miracles of Jesus. And I was in somebody's

  9. house this week and I saw this, miracles happen.

  10. To those who believe. Amen.

  11. It's true, they happen to those who believe. Do you believe, Amen, Amen, hallelujah. Well,

  12. if you do, then the miracles on your way.

  13. I believe it's as simple as that I do.

  14. I believe it's just that simple, and that he still desires.

  15. To do miracles.

  16. And when we read about his miracles that Jesus performed

  17. in his earthly ministry, those are not just history facts, Amen.

  18. The church is a continuation of what he started.

  19. Amen. His miracles didn't end with his death. Amen. Signs

  20. and wonders are still happening.

  21. Hallelujah. We just got to pay attention, Amen. And so

  22. so as we continue to go in throughout pick and choose,

  23. because we can't talk about all of the miracles Jesus did.

  24. I mean, I guess we could, but uh, it'd be

  25. it'd be a long series. But as we look through him,

  26. I I've been picking and choosing, decide and praying about

  27. which ones to choose.

  28. Today, I want to go to the Book of John.

  29. Chapter nine, verse one, And at the end of chapter eight,

  30. Jesus is leaving the temple.

  31. He's just had a really.

  32. Good conversation with some Pharisees, very enjoyable, and he was

  33. answering them, and they enjoyed the conversation so much that

  34. as he was leaving, they grabbed a couple of rocks

  35. to hurl at him on his way out, but they

  36. got out of the way or what wasn't hit with

  37. any of them. And so as he's leaving temple, all

  38. this happened in the temple. Pharisees just puzzle me. I

  39. can't heal on the Sabbath in the temple, but you can.

  40. Sure throw rocks, all right. Even But as Jesus and

  41. his disciples.

  42. Are leaving the temple, this is where we pick up

  43. chapter nine. Now, as Jesus passed by he saw a

  44. man who was blind from birth, and his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi,

  45. who sinned this man or his parents that he was

  46. born blind. Jesus answered, neither this man nor his parents sinned,

  47. but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

  48. I must work the works of Him who sent me

  49. while it is day. The night is coming when no

  50. one can work. As long as I am in the world.

  51. I am the light of the world. And when he

  52. had said these things, he spat on the ground and

  53. made clay with saliva, and he anointed the eyes of

  54. the blind man with the clay. And he said to him,

  55. go wash in the pool of siloam, which has translated sin.

  56. And so he went, and he washed, and he came

  57. back seeing.

  58. Amen.

  59. Therefore, the neighbors and those who previously had seen that

  60. he was blind, said, is not this the guy that

  61. sat and begged? And some said that that's him, and

  62. the other said it looks like him, And he said,

  63. that's me.

  64. I am he.

  65. And therefore they said to him, how were your eyes opened?

  66. And he answered and said, a man called Jesus made

  67. clay and anointed my eyes, and said to me, go

  68. to the pool of siloam and wash. And so I

  69. went and washed, and I received sight. Amen, Amen, I

  70. received sight. And so this miracle happened just outside the temple,

  71. and it happened on the Sabbath day. If you read

  72. down further, I I don't have it up, but if

  73. you read down further in verse fourteen, it it. It

  74. clarifies that the day that Jesus, when Jesus made the clay,

  75. that it was the Sabbath. So the healing took place

  76. on the Sabbath day. And so since it was the

  77. Sabbath day, and this man being a beggar, it was

  78. unlawful for him to beg or ask for alms on

  79. the Sabbath day. And so as Jesus is passing him,

  80. it's not that this man is simply asking for alms

  81. or asking for healing. He wasn't permitted to ask for

  82. anything on the Sabbath day.

  83. But Jesus stopped.

  84. And I believe that's a little hint to us of

  85. just how he works.

  86. Amen.

  87. How they say this man was blind since birth, I

  88. don't know anywhere that it says how old this guy is.

  89. But for however old he is, however long he was

  90. able to get to the temple and ask for alms.

  91. He's been asking, and the one day he doesn't ask

  92. or can't ask, it was the day of his healing.

  93. Amen.

  94. You see, the Lord can work even when you're unable

  95. to ask.

  96. Amen.

  97. He knows, he sees Amen. And even when we're in

  98. a point where we have are struggling, are struggling to

  99. ask him, he's able to perform a miracle for us.

  100. Amen.

  101. And so this happens on the Sabbath, which you know

  102. they didn't like. In the disciples, they began to ask

  103. about this man. They asked who sinned this guy? Because

  104. in that day, in the Jewish belief, they believed if

  105. you were born with the calamity, if you were born

  106. with a disease, it was because it was a punishment

  107. for sin. It was because your parents did something a

  108. generational sin, or is because you did something, and that

  109. was the Jewish belief. And the Disciples, being Jewish, were

  110. convinced or were wondering, Okay, Lord, who sinned this man

  111. or his family? And the Lord quickly squashes that and tells.

  112. Them that neither one of them.

  113. You see, the disciples were like us. The disciples were

  114. looking for the why. Why is this man blind? Why

  115. is this happening? Why is this storm in my life?

  116. Why am I going through this hardship? Why am I

  117. dealing with this? Why do I feel this way?

  118. Why?

  119. Why?

  120. Why?

  121. And they were asking why why is this man in

  122. this state? And the thing is Jesus really wasn't in

  123. the why didn't matter to Jesus. It matters to us, right,

  124. it matters to us. We are great at asking why.

  125. Amen, why. You may have asked why this very morning, Lord? Why? Amen?

  126. And oftentimes when I've asked why, the Lord hasn't answered

  127. my why. Oftentimes what he does is he reveals something

  128. about himself. And this is what this is. And so

  129. as you look at it. The disciples wanted to know

  130. the why, but Jesus told them the in order.

  131. To why.

  132. Is there a storm? Why was this man blind? He

  133. was blind? In order to reveal who Jesus was, Amen,

  134. why is there a storm in your life? In order

  135. to reveal him as the peace speaker man? Do you

  136. believe he still does that? Why is there pain in

  137. my life? In order to reveal him as healer? In

  138. order to reveal him as the mender of broken hearts. Amen,

  139. why is their loss in order to reveal him as

  140. comforter and counselor and mighty God and everlasting Father and

  141. Prince of Peace.

  142. Amen, It's not about why.

  143. It's about in order to reveal who he is and

  144. as we look. And I mentioned it last week when

  145. we talked about him stepping to the bow of the

  146. boat and speaking peace to the storm, it's not just

  147. about what we see. It's not just the miracle that

  148. we can see and say, oh wow, that's amazing. He

  149. stealed the waters. Oh wow, it's amazing that man was

  150. made to see. It's not just about that. There's always

  151. a greater purpose, even the miracles in your life.

  152. Amen.

  153. I can look in my life, and I can our life,

  154. and I can point to the questions we asked why.

  155. And you've heard the story at nauseum. You're probably tired

  156. of it. But the story of Grayson and cracking her

  157. head and why those questions were asked, why six months

  158. we're here to plant a church. Why he didn't answer

  159. our Why? He said, in order to reveal my power

  160. to a lady named Sharon Green. Amen, in order to

  161. show my power and my anointing and my blessing upon

  162. your family in order to Amen.

  163. Hallelujah. That's how God works. It's not how we work.

  164. That's how God works. And that's why it's called faith

  165. and it's called trust. Amen.

  166. We have to have faith when we don't understand the

  167. way He works. We have to trust even when we

  168. can't see it, because, as we're just saying, he's working

  169. even when we don't see it, even when we don't

  170. feel it, even when we don't think it, even when

  171. we don't know it.

  172. He is always working.

  173. He's working on your behalf in realms that you haven't

  174. even walked in.

  175. Amen.

  176. He's living, and he's working seasons out in your life

  177. that haven't even happened in your life yet.

  178. Amen. That's who God is. We've got to.

  179. Quit minimizing him down to working in our understanding. Our understanding.

  180. Even smartest of us, whoever that may be, can't comprehend

  181. his ways.

  182. Amen. That's how big he is. Hallelujah, hallelujah.

  183. So we find that even in the details of this healing,

  184. we find a revelation.

  185. So let's go back to verse four and five.

  186. Verse four and five tell us that I must work

  187. the works of him who sent me. While it is day,

  188. because the night is coming when no one can work.

  189. And as long as I am in the world verse five,

  190. I am the light of the world. So Jesus reveals

  191. his purpose, and his urgency reveals his purpose, and his

  192. urgency Jesus is saying that he's come for a purpose,

  193. and that purpose is to do the work of God

  194. here on earth. That's why he's come. I came to

  195. seek and to save that which was lost. Right, he says,

  196. he quoted Isaiah sixty one. I have been anointed to

  197. preach the good news. I have been anointed to men

  198. the broken hearted. That's what he came to do. That's

  199. what was to do. At twelve years old, he told

  200. his mama, Mama, I gotta be about my father's business.

  201. Amen. Amen.

  202. And this about his father, there's business, amen, everything that

  203. we read. And so he's he's here to be about

  204. that work, to reveal himself as Messiah, to reveal himself,

  205. no matter if he was rejected or who rejected him,

  206. his work was to reveal himself as Messiah. And if

  207. you look throughout scripture and you begin to read and

  208. you dive into the word, you understand It wasn't about

  209. him just coming and saying.

  210. I am the Messiah.

  211. He had to prove himself as Messiah. And that's why

  212. we find him working, and that's why we find him

  213. speaking and sins being forgiven, you know. And then that

  214. really shook the religious folks. They got all up in arms.

  215. Who can forgive sins?

  216. But God, exactly, That's what I'm trying to tell you

  217. be healed. Who can heal? I can't? He was revealing

  218. what we find Jesus doing. Was I love.

  219. If you've anybody ever watched The Chosen, we're knee deep

  220. in it, like we have prayer meetings after we watch

  221. Chosen episodes.

  222. I mean, we're we're all in, We're invested. And it's

  223. very good. I like it.

  224. It's it's some Christian stuff has not been very good,

  225. but this is very good. But there was there was this, uh,

  226. this moment. It was it was awesome. Jesus was talking

  227. to one of the Pharisees and uh, and.

  228. He says, we are to obey the law of Moses.

  229. And Jesus said, I am the Law of Moses.

  230. And he was the ultimate MC drop bam and I

  231. even did, I went what.

  232. I love that. Amen.

  233. That's why he came to reveal who he was, who

  234. he is, Amen, in everything we see, every miracle he

  235. performed was not just about healing somebody that needed healing.

  236. There was a greater purpose. There was a revelation just

  237. under the surface. This is who I am. I have

  238. no limitation. There's nothing that can stop me. I can

  239. speak to nature, and nature obeys. I can speak to disease,

  240. and disease leaves. I can speak to spirits of darkness

  241. and they must leave. Nothing can stop him. And if

  242. we truly believe that he's the same yesterday, today, and forever,

  243. the same is still true today. He still works miracles today, hallelujah.

  244. And so he has come to reveal himself.

  245. He came to reveal himself, and his time is short.

  246. So while there is opportunity. Just what he means by saying,

  247. while it is day, he said, while while there's light,

  248. while I'm here, because he knew his fate, no matter

  249. if anybody else did, he knew his fate. While I'm here,

  250. I've got to be about my work what I've been

  251. called to do. So him who sent me is what

  252. he said. I am the light of the world. Now

  253. find it interesting that he uses those words of terminology,

  254. because when we look at verse six and seven. Verse

  255. six says, and when he had said these things, he

  256. spits on the ground and makes clay with his saliva,

  257. and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with

  258. the clay. I love that terminology. He anointed the eyes

  259. of the blind.

  260. Man with the clay. Hallelujah.

  261. It's also interesting that he used clay. Won't go down

  262. that rabbit trail, but I could. Verse seven and he

  263. said to him, go wash in the pool of siloon,

  264. which is translated.

  265. What scent.

  266. He just said, I must work the works of him

  267. who sent me. Then he turns around and tells the

  268. blind man, go wash in the pool of siloon, which

  269. means scent. I love those little nuggets like that. Nothing

  270. is lost on the Lord. You know that he doesn't

  271. miss a thing in his word or in your life.

  272. He does not miss a thing. Amen, we need to

  273. understand that. And so he went and he washed, and

  274. he came back. See, I believe this is what I believe.

  275. I believe the blind man is a representation of the Church.

  276. Amen. Anointed scent.

  277. Overcomes darkness, equipped, empowered and effective.

  278. Amen.

  279. The Church of the Living God has been anointed by

  280. the blood of Jesus Christ, sent in the name of

  281. Jesus Christ, and overcomes darkness despite every obstacle and every

  282. spirit of hell, by the authority and the power of

  283. the Holy Ghost.

  284. Amen.

  285. We have been anointed, we have been sent, and we

  286. are overcomers.

  287. Amen.

  288. And I believe that this man standing here represents the Church.

  289. That light shines in the darkness. Amen.

  290. This blind man was a representation of us all even

  291. scripture tells us that that we once were in darkness.

  292. Amen.

  293. And he came to bring light and to be light.

  294. And that's what he's called us to be.

  295. Amen. John Chapter one, verse one through five.

  296. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was

  297. with God, and the Word was God. And he was

  298. in the beginning with God. All things were made through him,

  299. and without him, nothing was made.

  300. That was made. In him was life. And the light

  301. was the light of men. Amen.

  302. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness

  303. did not comprehend it.

  304. Let me define what word comprehend means.

  305. Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness could not

  306. attend with it.

  307. Amen.

  308. Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness could not

  309. seize it. The darkness could not overcome the light. The

  310. darkness could not comprehend the light. The darkness could not

  311. war against the light. The darkness had to be removed.

  312. Amen.

  313. Darkness cannot stand in the presence of light.

  314. It was overcome by the light.

  315. And this is what we have been anointed and sent for,

  316. to be light in the darkness.

  317. Amen.

  318. And I know that simple, but sometimes we need simple, Amen,

  319. because there is a lot of darkness in this world

  320. right and if truth be told, there is darkness in

  321. this building today. There is darkness in someone's mind today.

  322. You walked in here battling spirits of darkness. You walked

  323. in here battling voices of darkness. You walked in here

  324. battling thoughts of darkness.

  325. Amen, hallelujah. Amen. But the light is here.

  326. We have been anointed and we have been sent to

  327. dispel darkness.

  328. Hallelujah.

  329. We have been empowered to change the atmosphere of every

  330. place we step, every home you walk into, every place

  331. of business, every restaurant, every doctor's office. Light overcomes darkness,

  332. and it may be your home. Light overcomes darkness.

  333. Amen.

  334. There is a there is there is a darkness of oppression.

  335. There is a darkness of depression. There is a darkness

  336. that has defined itself as mental health.

  337. There is a there is.

  338. A darkness that is attacking the minds of not just

  339. young teenagers, but it's attacking the minds of adults, men

  340. and women, young and old alike. And God is not

  341. satisfied with darkness abiding in the minds of his people.

  342. Amen.

  343. And the Church of the Living God has been anointed

  344. and sent to dispel the darkness.

  345. In every mind, in every life by the power of

  346. the Holy Ghost. Amen. Amen. And I will tell you this.

  347. I believe this, and I please do not let me

  348. offend you in any way, shape or form. I understand

  349. that people battle things and thoughts and mental health let's

  350. just call it that. That's the buzzword. But I still believe,

  351. even in the presence of mental health, the power of

  352. the Holy Ghost can overcome.

  353. Amen. Amen. Now, I'm not saying don't go to doctors,

  354. don't put words in my mouth.

  355. I'm not saying get off your meds. I'm not saying

  356. you know any of that. You do what you.

  357. Feel morally responsible to do. Amen.

  358. But I am saying I still believe in the miracle

  359. working power where light overcomes darkness.

  360. Hallelujah. Amen.

  361. I don't believe that our young girls should feel ashamed

  362. of who God made them to be.

  363. Amen.

  364. To the point where they go and they contemplate taking

  365. their own life, that is the spirit of darkness, and

  366. it must be dispelled by the Church of the Living God,

  367. because we have been called to.

  368. Walk as children of the Light. Amen. Amen.

  369. I hate darkness, but I'm not afraid of the dark.

  370. Amen. You know why. I read it last week.

  371. And I can't get past it, and I'm gonna read

  372. it again. You guys don't have us, don't even go there.

  373. Psalms ninety one, Moses, thou shall not be afraid for

  374. the terror by night. I speak that right now into

  375. every mind, Amen, into every life that is battling darkness,

  376. that is battling thoughts, that are battling things, that the voices,

  377. that anything that's coming against you. Amen, I speak that

  378. right now thou shall not be afraid for the terror

  379. by night, nor for the arrow that flies by day,

  380. nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor for

  381. the destruction that waits waste at noonday. Amen. Amen, hallelujah.

  382. We're gonna skip skip down the Ephesians five. For you

  383. were once darkness, Amen. In it say you were once

  384. in darkness. It says you were once darkness.

  385. Amen. But now you are light in the Lord. Walk

  386. as children of light. Hallelujah. We don't have to bow

  387. to darkness.

  388. We don't have to bow to spirits of depression or

  389. spirits of oppression.

  390. We don't have to bow to spirits of hell.

  391. Jesus says I will build my church, and I and.

  392. The gates of hell shall not prevail against it. We

  393. are the Church. We are the light of the world. Hallelujah.

  394. I want my wife to come. Hallelujah. Light does not

  395. fear darkness. Amen. Light does not fear darkness.

  396. It's true in the spiritual and it's true in the physical.

  397. Amen.

  398. Just walk into your room today and turn the light

  399. switch on. There is no negotiation between that light bulb

  400. and the darkness. The light does it ask for permission

  401. to illuminate the room.

  402. And when we walk into.

  403. A room, the light of the Holy Ghost that is

  404. alive within us, does it.

  405. Ask the darkness if it can enter. It just walks

  406. in and changes the atmosphere.

  407. Hallelujah, hallelujah. Jesus walks out of the temple. He knew

  408. it was the Sabbath day. He didn't ask permission from

  409. the Pharisees if he could heal the blind man. He

  410. didn't even ask the blind man if he could heal him.

  411. He just spit on the ground, made some clay, rubbed

  412. it in his eyes.

  413. I don't even then know if the blind man knew

  414. what was happening. Somebody just rubbed dirt in his eyes

  415. and then said, go take a bath. It's kind of offensive.

  416. People would be offended if that happened today.

  417. Light Amen, Light overcomes darkness. Wants to close our eyes

  418. all over this building.

  419. Hallelujah, hallelujah.

  420. I was worshiping up here.

  421. As we were singing, I had my eyes closed and

  422. had my hands raised, and the Lord just I could

  423. feel him wanting to pound that message home to somebody.

  424. It was almost as if he told me once I

  425. get there to stop that he wants to work.

  426. Shun.

  427. Some of you have been dealing with some dark thoughts.

  428. Some of you have been spiraling down into this.

  429. Cavity of.

  430. Darkness. It's all there's the only way I can explain it.

  431. And you don't know how to get out of that hole,

  432. and you don't know how to deal with the voices,

  433. and you don't know how to deal with the thoughts

  434. and all of the things that are attributing to the spiral.

  435. But you're here today, and the reason you're here is

  436. because the Lord has come to speak light into your darkness.

  437. You see, the Lord isn't afraid of darkness.

  438. Amen.

  439. The whole universe was full of darkness until he spoke,

  440. let there be Light, and the darkness.

  441. Immediately gave way.

  442. And from that moment until this very second that we

  443. sit here in weather for Texas, light has dominion over darkness.

  444. So I want to speak again into every mind, into

  445. every life that is battling against darkness. Today, hallelujah, let

  446. there be light.

  447. In the name of Cheese.

  448. Lord, right now, let your hand be at work, and

  449. let light begin to permeate where darkness is present. In

  450. the name of Jesus, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

  451. By the name of Jesus.

  452. Right now, darkness out of every mind and out of

  453. every life. And I speak light, I speak hope, I

  454. speak healing, I speak.

  455. Joy, unspeakable, full of glory.

  456. I speak peace that passes all understanding.

  457. Let the blindness give way to sight.

  458. Hallelujah, hallelu In the day of Jesus, let everybode, let everybode.
