  1. Welcome to Life City. This podcast was created to celebrate

  2. what God is doing and what protects us. Our vision

  3. is to reach the hungry, the hurdy, and the hopeless.

  4. God has given us our heading. Join us today as

  5. we listen to the Word and we pray that God

  6. speaks to you in this message.

  7. You can be seated.

  8. Amen. I'm not gonna take much time.

  9. Because I feel like the Lord's already done a work

  10. this morning and so, but today is freedom Sunday, and

  11. I'm thankful.

  12. For our freedom, amen.

  13. Aren't you?

  14. Hallelu Thankful for not only our physical freedom to be

  15. able to come into a building and worship without fear

  16. of anybody coming in and trying to shut us down.

  17. Amen.

  18. And truth be told, Lord's been good to me that,

  19. even as the thunder rolls, if somebody was to come

  20. in and try to shut me down, they couldn't shut

  21. me up, Amen, because God has been too good to me.

  22. Amen, hallelujah.

  23. But I am glad that we don't have to worry

  24. about that, and I plan on doing whatever I can

  25. to make sure that continues, that we continue to have

  26. that freedom, Amen. Because this is the thing. Freedom comes

  27. at a cost. There's always a cost for freedom. Freedom

  28. is not free, Amen. Whether you pay that price, or

  29. I pay that price, or somebody else pays that price,

  30. there is always a price for freedom.

  31. Amen.

  32. And today, this weekend we celebrated and Friday there was

  33. fireworks across this great nation and there was people, you know, excited,

  34. spending time on lakes and spending time with family and

  35. friends and all of the things that normally happens.

  36. And people bought sparklers, and they.

  37. Bought fireworks, they bought bought things that go boom and

  38. things that that you know, do all kinds of crazy stuff.

  39. Why and celebration of freedom, that's what it is.

  40. And when we look back.

  41. At how all that took place, it took place because

  42. people were willing to fight to be free. Long before

  43. you and I were ever brought into the imagination of

  44. your parents or their parents, years and years and years

  45. and years and years ago, there was a group of

  46. people that was tired of living under tyranny. There was

  47. a there was a there was people that were tired

  48. of living bound and restrained, and they decided, we're going

  49. to do something about it.

  50. We're gonna taketion.

  51. Amen.

  52. Sometimes when you want to be free.

  53. It means you got to take action, amen, And so

  54. they took action, and we have in our history books

  55. what happened, and you can go and do all that.

  56. I'm not going to give you a history lesson today, Amen.

  57. But as we won our freedom all those years ago,

  58. there still remained a problem. The problem was this, there

  59. were people that were here living in this country that

  60. still desired to live in what they had been freed from.

  61. There was people still desiring and living their life like

  62. they were under the rule of a king.

  63. Man.

  64. And that was the colonial times and all of that.

  65. That was the struggle is because you had a large

  66. group of the people that were excited to be out

  67. from the king of England.

  68. But there were still some that craved.

  69. The restraints of tyranny because that's all they had ever known.

  70. And spiritually, I see this very same thing happen as

  71. Jesus came and paid the price.

  72. Remember there's always a price.

  73. Luckily for us, by his grace and his mercy, we

  74. didn't have to pay the price for our sin.

  75. He paid it for us, Amen, and he set us free. Amen.

  76. But yet we have people that desire and crave the

  77. restraints of the tyranny of sin more than they love.

  78. Walking and liberty and freedom. Amen. Amen.

  79. And so as the church, it is our mission, not

  80. even a job, it's our mission.

  81. We like mission right. Me and my wife been watching

  82. Mission Impossible.

  83. Because the new one just come out, and and and

  84. and I like that kind of action movies and and

  85. like daredevil stuff. That's that's I love that kind of stuff.

  86. But I'm too old to do it now. So I

  87. got to live vicariously through Tom Cruise, and so I

  88. think he's actually older than I am. It's a sad situation.

  89. I probably need to think before I speak, but never

  90. had before. So why start now?

  91. Man? But we have a mission. That's where I was

  92. before I chase that squirrel.

  93. We have a mission. The mission of the church it

  94. to shine the light in the darkness because the darkness

  95. is binding.

  96. Amen.

  97. The darkness is binding. Amen. I want let's see let me.

  98. Peyton come here, And that's exactly why come up here?

  99. Stand right here, jac This is a motley crew, isn't it? London?

  100. Who else?

  101. Who else?

  102. Let me think? You? Uh?

  103. Paxton? Come on?

  104. All right?

  105. So this is the deal. Okay, So what I want

  106. you guys to do is you have to devise.

  107. A plan.

  108. To make one, thank you. You have to make you

  109. have to come up with a plan. You have to

  110. come up with the plan of how best you're gonna

  111. restrain my hands. Okay, So take this and you guys

  112. go there and get in the huddle and figure out

  113. how your best gonna bind my hands and keep me bound.

  114. All right, you guys talk amongst yourself, figure it out.

  115. Amen.

  116. So I want you to see something. What they're doing

  117. right now is fun. But this happens every day that

  118. you open your eyes. The enemy is devising a plan

  119. how to keep you bound. The enemy is consulting itself

  120. and all of the spirits of hell to try and

  121. figure out how that day it can keep you bound

  122. and restrained and stop you from walking in the freedom

  123. and the liberty that God has.

  124. Set you in.

  125. Amen. Amen.

  126. And they're very serious about it, almost as serious as

  127. Peyton is right now.

  128. I mean, he is invested in this. I may regret this, Dwayne,

  129. I may regret this.

  130. Amen.

  131. You guys have a plan. Yes, all right? Are you ready?

  132. All right?

  133. Hold on?

  134. Let mean all right, yeah, all right, you're pumped about this,

  135. aren't you. Peyton.

  136. You're excited about this. Yeah, all right, yeah, what very what?

  137. Oh?

  138. I have no clue what the eman?

  139. He said?

  140. All right, you guys ready, okay, here we go, all right,

  141. go ahead, Hey, no comments from the peanut gallery.

  142. Are they doing it right?

  143. Peyton? Okay, all right.

  144. I feel like like this.

  145. Okay, yeah, all right, Uh, you need to do better

  146. than that. I could pull my hands apart. Oh okay,

  147. I'm sorry, Okay, all right, you you know you guys

  148. need you guys, the boys to get in here and

  149. get involved.

  150. I think I think I may lose a digit.

  151. Actually, you're yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, he's a supervisor. What well,

  152. I'm do what you gotta do? Bro, Desperate times calls

  153. for desperate measures, I said, Bro to my I said bra,

  154. I shaid Brah.

  155. I forgot.

  156. I'm too old. Remember it was bro back in my day.

  157. Now it's huh? Is that good? Still working? All right? Okay,

  158. you're good? All right?

  159. You feel confident about your restraints?

  160. Not really? So let's see.

  161. Yeah, I don't feel confident in it either. Yeah, you

  162. want to try, you want you wanna give it a whirl.

  163. Your sister just added you out.

  164. He quit.

  165. We just started a sibling rivalry across the room.

  166. She just she just completely ratted you out.

  167. That's what little sisters are for. Though, you guys need

  168. to reconvene. Okay, I think that's good. Yoll We'll just

  169. go with that. You ready, do they? Okay?

  170. Do what you gotta do.

  171. Study long, study wrong. How confidence do you have in this?

  172. Not you probably?

  173. Actually no, I haven't all right, We're good?

  174. Were good? All right? Hold on?

  175. What all right?

  176. What do you guys thinking?

  177. You all right?

  178. Thank you guys?

  179. Can you guys can have a seat?

  180. Thank you?

  181. So you see, this is the deal is. The enemy

  182. tries to do this every single day. He devises plans,

  183. he considers your past. The Bible tells us that he

  184. is an accuser of the brethren. And you know why

  185. he is so adamant and so faithful with his accusations

  186. because he wants to keep you bound in the things

  187. of your past.

  188. He wants to keep.

  189. You rashined from walking in the freedom that God has

  190. for you.

  191. He wants to keep you out of the will of God.

  192. He wants to keep you from walking in his peace

  193. and in his joy.

  194. Because the joy of the Lord is our strength.

  195. And as long as he can keep your hands restraint

  196. and keep them from being about your father's business. He

  197. is able to stop you from walking in the abundant

  198. life that God has for you. The thief came, Jesus said,

  199. The thief came to steal, keel and destroy. He said,

  200. but I have come that you may have life, and

  201. you may have it more abundantly.

  202. Amen.

  203. And you cannot live an abundant life in restraints.

  204. Only the liberating power.

  205. Of Jesus Christ set you free. And can you walk

  206. in that power? You walk in that dominion and that authority.

  207. We were talking the last several weeks, we were talking

  208. about the miracles of Jesus. And I was thinking this

  209. morning about when Jesus was confronted with a man that

  210. was possessed of devils, and he came out of the

  211. caves and he came running, and nobody could constrain this

  212. guy because he was just he was just full of devils.

  213. And as he finds his way to Jesus, the devils

  214. speak up and they call Jesus by name. You see,

  215. even the spirits that try to bind you, and even

  216. when they're successful, they still know and bow to the

  217. authority of Jesus Christ.

  218. Amen.

  219. And they said, what do you have to do with us?

  220. They said, don't just cast us out, send us into something.

  221. And so there were a bunch of pigs, and they said,

  222. just cast us into those pigs. And all Jesus had

  223. to say was go. That's all he had to say. Go,

  224. And that man was set free.

  225. Amen.

  226. All right, Dwayne, come here. No, I'm gonna ask you

  227. to either untie it or take that knife out of

  228. my pouch and cut me free.

  229. Ah.

  230. Thank you. Shake that Amen.

  231. You did a good job.

  232. Good job girls.

  233. Painting and packston. You guys had involvement too, thank you. Amen. Yeah,

  234. they were the brains. The girls did the work.

  235. Amen.

  236. All he said was go. I want to tell you

  237. something about the power of the name of Jesus, the

  238. things that bind you.

  239. Amen.

  240. I believe in pleading the blood of Jesus. I believe

  241. whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven. Whatever

  242. we loose on earth is loose in Heaven.

  243. I believe in.

  244. Those scriptures and I practice them on a regular basis.

  245. Amen.

  246. But there are sometimes where we need to tell spirits

  247. that are coming against our homes and our lives and

  248. our minds, trying to restrain us.

  249. We need to tell them to go.

  250. Amen.

  251. You need to tell that spirit of fear to go.

  252. When you feel it coming and you feel it attacking you,

  253. and you feel it restricting you, you can speak in

  254. the name of Jesus, go, and you know what it

  255. has to obey.

  256. Amen.

  257. The spirit of doubt and oppression and depression, and the

  258. spirit of darkness, and the spirit of wounds and hurts

  259. and things that have been done to us. When those

  260. things try to come against you and bind you and hold,

  261. all you have to do is say, in the name

  262. of Jesus, go.

  263. Man. That's it. That's the authority.

  264. That we have. Galatians. Paul wrote to the Galatian Church.

  265. They don't have this. I'm gonna just read it real quick. Galatians,

  266. Chapter five, Verse one. Paul says, stand fast therefore in

  267. the life liberty, where Christ has made us free, and

  268. be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. What

  269. Paul was saying is, you've already been set free. Don't

  270. return to the cage that He delivered you out of.

  271. Don't return to the prison that he already ripped the

  272. doors off. Don't stand in that entanglement, in that yoke

  273. of bondage.

  274. You don't have to live bound.

  275. Jesus has set you free. Amen. I want my wife

  276. to come. John.

  277. Bring up the Book of John John chapter eight. Jesus

  278. is speaking. And then he said to those Jews who

  279. believed him, if you abide in my word, you are

  280. my disciples.

  281. Indeed verse thirty two.

  282. And you shall know the truth and the truth, His truth,

  283. the truth that he is, the Way, the truth, and

  284. the life.

  285. Amen.

  286. Truth shall make you free.

  287. Amen.

  288. I've talked to people before that, well, you know, I'm

  289. not addicted to this or to that. I'm not bound

  290. by this or that.

  291. Man.

  292. Sin, at one time in our life has bound us

  293. all as human nature sin had us bound.

  294. Amen. Jesus came, died, was buried, and rose again that.

  295. We can live free, that sin would have no more

  296. minion over you. That the spirit of darkness has no

  297. place dwelling in the light. In fact, it cannot dwell

  298. with the light.

  299. Aymen.

  300. So as you stand with me this morning, hallelujah. On

  301. this freedom weekend weekend where we celebrate our liberties, we

  302. celebrate the cost of freedom, the price that was paid

  303. for our freedom. We all are presented every single day

  304. with the choice. Am I going to choose to live free?

  305. Being free and living free, as I said, are two

  306. different things. We all are free, every one of us.

  307. He didn't die just for life city. He died for

  308. every man and woman. The whole world is free.

  309. But how many lived that way?

  310. How many live free?

  311. We as the Church, we need to live free.

  312. Not bound by anything, not restrained by anything, not hindered.

  313. Hallelujah, hallelujah, because the sun is set free.

  314. Thank you so much for being with us today. We

  315. hope you were blessed in some way by the message.
