Is He Worthy Pt.2 || Pastor Diego Mesa

this week's message. All right, Hey, good to see everyone tonight.

And isn't it really crazy about this weather? You know, I'm like you.

I don't know about you, but I've been raised in southern California,

so I've been here sixty two years and I don't remember six months like this

in my lifetime where it's looked like Seattle, and I just don't remember it.

I mean, so I'm not here to say anything prophetic or spooky,

but I am saying, wow, you know, we haven't had the sun

in a long time and it's just been misty like this. But I guess

we're to be grateful because you save on your water bill for your sprinklers and

all that kind of stuff, and so but I'm dying for the sun.

I don't know about you, but hey, thanks for coming to UM midweek

service, and thank you for getting involved in the life of abundant living.

Abundant living is more than just attending church. It really is. Like UM,

I was somewhere yesterday and you hear this often with people that call themselves

Christians but don't go to church. So they say, I'm a Christian,

I believe in God, but I don't have to go to church to believe

God or follow God. And so the problem with that is is that you

don't know your Bible. So we can do a lot of things. Is

if we throw off the Bible. So it's kind of a free for all

that you and I can decide based on our own personal convictions, morals or

righteousness, how to live for God. But God knew that we are frail,

and that's why he gave us a book to live by. And in

that book tells me that there's benefits to going to church and enjoying the conany

of fellowship with one another and getting involved. And so you're the kind of

people that are here tonight, and whether you serve or in small grooves or

last night I heard that a pastor Adam and Ashley, had six hundred married

couples here in this room and they're going on there's six weeks sprint or vacation

Bible School. This is a busy church and it's always been that way,

and vision is alive and it really makes the uncomfortable restless in this church.

So if you want to be comfortable, this is probably not the church for

you. If you want to grow, you want to be stretched, you

want to be challenged, you want to be perfected, you want to live

for Christ and make an impact in this dark world. This is an amazing

ministry that provokes that. And before I'm minister, you know, the first

song that Daniel and the team's saying was really an evangelistic song. Who's gonna

tell them? And to go and share the gospel? And this is the

Is today the last day of the month, Yeah, it is. I

lose track, So so tomorrow we start a new month. How many of

you like to be challenged? I like to be challenged. I've always been

a person that likes to be challenged athletically, even at sixty two years old.

I'll challenge anybody in here who's half my age, it doesn't matter,

you know, And very few can do that. And I'm not bragging.

It's just that's the nature of all I am. If you want to pray,

I'll pray. If you want to read your Bible, we'll read your

Bible. If you want to financially tiede and give. You want to try

to outgive me financial Oh, brother, I don't think that that's boasting.

We'll go back and read the Bible, and the Bible talked about David told

the people how much money he was going to give toward the temple. See

how quiet it got because you're learning your Bible. So I want to challenge

you for this next month of June. Let's win one soul or try to

win one soul into the Kingdom of God this month. That's my challenge.

So if you see me, ask me where I'm at with that one soul.

If I see you, I'm going to ask you where you are at.

Now. We can't get anyone saved. We can't. That's the work

of the Holy Spirit. But we can share our faith with people, tell

the story of what transformation Christ has made in our lives, and let the

Holy Spirit move in that conversation. Sometimes it's done spontaneously and then sometimes it's

done by the conviction. I just feel like God wants me to talk to

this person, and He's set it up. So we're gonna talk about that.

Not tonight. We're gonna take a thirty day challenge now for the month

of June to win somebody over to the Lord. I was talking to a

young man Yesterday's name is Andrew. He told me that his body is the

temple of God and this is what he worships. And so I had a

little conversation with him. I didn't tell him he was going to hal and

I didn't preach to him. I just gave him a little something to think

about. But next time I see him, I'll pick up the conversation and

say, do you know what your name means? Andrew? Why? Who

named you Andrew? And so you just dropped little dimes And so there's opportunity

all around us, and we need to really really take advantage of that.

Father, Thank you for a few moments so we could gather around your word.

Thank you for the Wednesday night people tonight. Bless them. May they

be a little bit more excited than they are right now. May they be

a little bit more enthusiastic than they are right now. May they be a

little bit more shouting than they are right now, because we're about ready to

preach about Jesus and give hope and life to us, Oh God, And

so we honor you in Jesus name. Amen, let's stand for the reading

of God's word. Here we go, let's stand up, and we're doing

part two of something I did a few weeks ago on he is Worthy.

And that's why we sang that last song and that's one of my favorite song.

It just moves me. That one word, he is worthy, touches

my heart. It says worthy, are you our Lord and God to receive

glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and by your

will they existed and were created. You may be seated. I'm going to

give you a little bit of how I interpret this verse, and it goes

like this, because of you we exist. You created everything good, and

you sustain everything and that and that makes you more than deserving and more than

qualified to be worshiped in our lives. God. That's why I would interpret

that verse that we just read over the fact that he is worthy. And

if you say yes, that he's worthy, then I want to challenge you

then then what is he worthy of? You can't just make a statement he's

worthy, what is he worthy of in your life? And then put the

adjectives behind that or the description of what he's worthy of? And that's what

we're gonna talk about a little bit tonight. But when I met Cindy,

my lovely wife, she had some records, and she had a Frankie Avalon

collection, and if you don't know who these are, it's okay. She

had a Bobby Sherman collection of records, and she had the Beach Boys records,

and she proclaimed or thought that they're of great value, and they're of

great worth. And numerically and financially they may not be valuable, but to

that person and to Cindy, those records were very, very valuable to us

to her. Excuse me, I don't know if you've ever watched the Antique

Road Show. Anybody ever watched the Antique Road Show? Have ever fantasized that

you have something in your house that is of great value and you're going to

go there and find out that it's worth billions of dollars or something like that.

Well, on the Antique Road Show recently, there was a pocket watch,

a Swiss watch that was made in nineteen fourteen by Potech Philippe, and

it was valued at three million dollars. This person thought it was nice,

but there's no way they thought it was worth three million dollars. So we

have to ask the question, what is Jesus really worth in our lives?

And the challenges is that the longer, maybe not in this church, but

in other churches, the longer you are a Christian, and the longer you

walk with God, there is the temptation or the challenge that you are going

to make God less or Jesus less worthy in your life than you do when

you first begin the journey, that somehow we just get comfortable with Jesus going

to church, reading the Bible, and we kind of discount the Lord and

cheapen the Lord and mark down the Lord. It's like a child when he

first gets that toy, he wants to play with it all the time,

and then like six months later, where's that toy. It's like when you

get a brand new car. You love the smell, you clean it,

you watch it, you park it far away, and you walk to whoever

you've got to go. There's no eating in that car. But look at

your car today, what it looks like. It's kind of depreciated in your

eyes. And we've got to make sure that Jesus, just like with good

wine, the longer I walk with Him and live with him. The value

and the sweetness of that wine should appreciate and not appreciate in my life.

So let me read you a few scriptures as we begin to uncover, and

we talk a little bit about the fact that he that he is worthy,

which means to declare value on something, or that he is worth something.

Ephesians, the fourth chapter and verse number one reads this way, I therefore

the prisoner. This is Paul reading, and he's reading to the church at

Ephesus, and he says, I therefore the prisoner for the Lord. Now

he literally is somebody in prison for preaching the Gospel, but it also is

metaphorically speaking of all of us as Christians are prisoners of the Lord. We've

been captivated by him. We are bound to him. He is the authority

and the governor in our lives, not to rule and domineer us in a

negative way, but we love being in his kingdom and submitting to his kingship.

We all prisoners of the Lord, which means you can do whatever you

want to do, but you're going to reap the benefits of it. Whatever

a man sows, he reaps. But if I live righteously and live according

to the word, I'll reap great benefits in my life. So I'm a

prisoner. I'm a prisoner of I can't do whatever I want to do,

or my flesh wants to do, or the sin in me that tries to

rise up in me that wants to do that I must keep crucified, or

the temptations of the devil that sows into my mind. I'm a prisoner of

the Lord. I appeal to you and beg you to walk and lead a

life worthy of the divine calling to which you have been called, with behavior

that is credited to the summons to God's service, walk worthy of the calling,

walk worthy of the calling. Say that with me, walk worthy of

the calling? What calling is he talking about? He's talking about the calling

of salvation that you have been a partaker of. That is a calling.

Not everyone is saved, Not everyone is going to go to heaven. They

all have a choice, but they will reject Jesus Christ. And there are

more people that are going to go to hell than ever go to heaven.

So he's talking about walk worthy of that salvation call, that title of an

heir, but also walk worthy of calling, could be walk worthy of the

vocation God's given you the titles, he's given you, the responsibilities. He's

given you, the gifts. He's given you, the influence, he's given

you, the possessions he's given you. Walk worthy of that. So we

walk worthy of that. And because we walk worthy of that, what does

it mean we're to walk worthy to be able to praise him? We're walk

worthy. If he's worthy, then we praise him. If he's worthy,

then we offer him a service. If he's worthy, then we give him

promises of things that we will do to build his kingdom. If he's worthy,

then we give financially into the kingdom of God. If he's worthy,

we give our time to the Lord, whether that's our devotions or in our

volunteership, or whether that's the fellowship with someone or to pray, and it

gives to somebody and help them. Because he's worthy, we give him our

heart and we give him our love. Because he is worthy, we will

follow him and we will obey him. If he is worthy, then we

will witness for him and we will share our faith if he's worthy. If

he's worthy, we will trust him and we will depend upon him. And

if he's worthy, we will suffer on his behalf. We will allow ourselves

to be mocked, judged, misunderstood, persecuted, and not always liked.

If he is worthy, if he is not worthy, that eliminate anything that

you want to eliminate in what I just said. There was an Iranian brother

who got saved in this church over at our Unica property. And if you

remember, if you were around that time, his name was a Bijean.

And whenever worship, it's amazing this man, grown man, came to worship

God. He came ready to worship God. Some of us kind of dragon

coming late. He ain't ready to worship. Some of us have to decompress,

and it takes us, you know, five ten minutes before we're in

to the third song. And now this guy, I'm telling you, he

came ready. So when that little clock was one minute before, he was

standing right here. He'd be standing right there. He have a towel on

one thing, and he have a gallon jug of water next to anybody,

remember Bijan, feel of you do. But moment the first song started,

boy, he was worshiping. And I'm talking about his hands flying, I'm

talking about him jumping. I'm talking about on his knees every expression of worship.

And the problem was he just didn't do it for the first song,

and he didn't do it for the second song. He did it for the

third and fourth song, and then he'd be back on midweek service. Then

he'd be back the next week and the next week. It was nothing showy

about. I went up to him and said, bro, tell me,

talk to me. Tell me why you worship God the way you worship God.

And he said, you don't know what the Lord delivered me from when

I lived in Iran and was an atheist, and God supernaturally delivered me,

and he loves me, and he's in heaven now. Be Jan's in heaven,

and I'll never forget the impact that he made in my life, and

then he made in this church his life. And yet we sometimes can sit

there so reserved. See, I discipline my flesh, and when my flesh

doesn't want to worship, I'll drag it to that altar and I'll say,

okay, now you will lift your hands right now, you will praise God.

It's an act of my will. It's not an emotion, and it's

not a feeling. The Bible says that I'm gonna raise my hands and I'm

raising my hand. No able, says a singing shout. I'll see the

Bible tells me to get on my knees, late, prostrate, dance.

Whatever the Bible tells me to do, I am going to do because what

he is worthy to be praised. Nobody looks at you crazy. When you

go to a concert and you act all crazy. No one looks at you

weird. When you go to us a sporting event and you raise your hand

and you go crazy, Nobody looks at you crazy when you're in the bedroom

making all kinds of noises, But all of a sudden, when you come

to church or in the presence of God, it seems like it's not needed.

But he's worthy to be praised. If he is worthy, then he

should not be declined, denied, ignored, or rejected. If he's worthy,

shouldn't be refused, turned down, veto, or dismissed. I'm going

to read you a scripture. But when he talks about walk worthy of our

calling, he's talking about again this born again experience that you and I have

been partakers of, this fact that you and I are new creations, are

new creatures in Christ, Jesus, the fact that we will never be judged

for the sins, the ugly sins, the remorse that we have, the

regrets that we have, as far as the east is from the west were

washed away. Man, I'll never forget when I first met Cindy. Cindy

lived a worldly life. She was a girl doing what girls do who don't

serve the Lord, and she was promiscuous. She lived with a man three

years before I met her. I'm this guy who got saved at around seventeen

years old. I was a virgin when I married this woman. And I

remember thinking in myself of my insecurities and my little self esteem and whatever you

want to call it, think you that I was better than her because I

kept myself and she didn't keep herself. And in my insecurities, I wanted

to know how many men she slept with. I know there's nobody in here

that could relate to me. I wanted to know all the things that were

done. And I remember quizzing her when we were dating a few times,

and I remember going home and being totally convicted by the Holy Spirit. And

I could tell you this, I've only heard God's audible voice a few times

in my life. This was the one the first time that ever heard God's

audible voice, and it went something like this, because God always speaks your

language, so don't get offended by what I'm about ready to say, God

speaks the language that you can relate to. He's not going to talk to

you. In King James version, thus saith the Lord to thee my loyal

subjects. I felt like God said, who do you think you are to

ask that woman about her past? It's under my blood. And when she

came to me and repented and asked me to be her lord and savior as

far as the east is from the west, I no longer remember it.

So don't you ever ask her again, buddy, or you will have problems

with me. I threw away that for the rest of my life. It's

the beauty that we are to walk worthy of, this amazing thing called being

born again and salvation and being forgiven and being called a child of God and

being purchased and bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, and being translated

from the kingdom of darkness into his marvelous light. Second Samuel says this.

In verse twenty four. It says this and Urana said, why has my

lord the King come to his servants. David replied, to buy this threshing

floor from you in order to build an altar to the Lord. So the

plaque on the people may be halted. It's give me the plague, the

plaque, the plaid plague on the people may be halted. Arana said to

David, my lord the King may take whatever he wants and offer it.

Here are the auction, and the burnt offerings, and the threshing sledges and

the ox yokes for the wood, Your majesty, Arana gives everything here to

the king. Then he said to the king, may the Lord your God

accept you and watch you David. Then the King answered Arana, no,

I insist on buying it from you for a price, for I will not

offer to the Lord my God burnt offerings. Underline it highlighted that cost me

nothing. David bought the threshing floor that day, the auction for twenty ounces

of silver lacris. Do you know where he bought it? You know where

that is? This man was wealthy, Arana. David messed up, and

he had to offer a sacrifice to the Lord. David went to him and

said, I want to buy your land. This guy said, you're king,

I'll just give it to you. And David's oh, I don't take

no freebies. Ain't anybody. Nobody's gonna worship God, and no one's gonna

sacrifice to God for me. I don't give nothing to God that doesn't cost

me something. Why because he's worthy. If what you're doing for God does

not cost you something, it is not worthy of who he is. Temple

Mount, that's what he offered it on. That's what he bought that day,

the Temple Mounts. You ever see the Temple Mount, That's what David

bought that day, the Temple Mount. I want you to see that he

is worthy, absolutely worthy. There's a Chinese in the Chinese culture there and

in other cultures. I've heard this that if you save someone's life, that

person will owe you for the rest of their lives. And I want you

to recognize Jesus died for you. Do you owe him your life? You

and I are to walk worthy, absolutely worthy of what He's done for us.

And that's why David said, I'll give him my best and my better

and my bravest. I'll give it to him. Let's look at the next

point. The next one is found here in second a first Vessonians two twelve.

That you would walk worthy of God, who calls you into his own

kingdom and his own glory. You and I are to live worthy of God,

absolutely worthy of God. The seven i ams you're to walk worthy,

notice, walk worthy of God. How can I walk worthy of God if

I don't know who God is? So he's asking me to walk worthy or

place value on who God is. See, I can't place value on my

wife if I don't know who she is. I can't place value on you

if I don't know who you are, if you don't mean something to me,

then I can declare value to you. So he says that you and

I are to walk worthy of God. So the i ams that are found

is that I am the bread of life, and I am the Light of

the world. And I am the good shepherd to you, and I am

your resurrection in life. I am your way, your truth in your life.

I am your true vine, and I am your door. That's who

God is. Is he worthy to be praised? Is he worthy of a

gift? Is he worthy of your life? Is he worthy of a sacrifice?

Because of all those i ams in your life. Let me give you

some more as we describe who God is. So now we go into the

Jehovah's that many people are familiar with. He is Jehovah Elohim, which means

He's your creator. Nothing in this world has not been made by the hands

of God. The oceans, the stars, the reigns, the lands,

the planets, the mountains has a origin. They just didn't evolve. They

just didn't bang. The mysticism of them, the spectacularism of them, the

overwhelming awe of how they function, is still often unknown to scientists. There's

an origin Elion. He's the most high God. Josanna. He's the maker.

Jehovah gy Or, your provider, make a dish, your sanctifier.

Jehovah Nissy, your captain and your banner. He is Jehovah Rohi, your

shepherd. He is Jehovah Rapha, your healer. He is Jehovah Sabah,

the Lord of hosts. He is Jehovah Shalom, your peace. He is

Jehovah Shama, the Lord that is present or there. And he is Jehovah

to Sidkinu our righteousness. All these are describing who God is, and God

wants you to see who he is so that you can understand that He is

worthy of your life. He's worthy of your praise. He is your righteousness.

He is your shepherd. He is your healer. He is your most

High. God is your Maker. He's your creator. He's your all in

all, He's your everything. Some of my favorite titles that I shared a

little bit last week or last time I preached this was He's again where He's

a live, worthy where to live, worthy of God. He's our maker,

He's our mediator, He's our most High. He is Holy, he

is Alpha and Omega. He is our advocate. He's the chief cornerstone,

He's the consuming fire. All these are found in your Bible. He's your

deliverer, the firstborn from the dead, the friend that stick it closer than

a brother. He is your ruler, your judge, your highest, your

king of kings, the Lamb of God, the man of sorrows, your

peace offering, your sure foundation, your strong tower, and your rock.

Here's what David said a little bit about it, and Second Samuel twenty two

it reads like this, Then David spoke to the Lord the works of this

song on the day when the Lord had delivered him from the hand of all

his enemies and from the hand of Saul. And he begins to describe.

Notice these minds, this is what David says. The Lord is my rock.

The Lord is Look at the personalization. He will always be this to

someone else until you personalize it. He could be this to diego, but

never be it to you unless you personalize it. And say, the Lord

is my rock because in unstable times, I need God to be my rock.

He is my fortress when everything's coming after me and at me. I

know that God is my fortress when I feel like I'm bound to something.

God is my deliverer. God is my strength when I'm weak in whom I

will trust. God is my shield to protect me. God is my salvation,

my stronghold, my refuge, my savior. And then goes on and

he describes more to us, He's my support. Goes on and say he's

my God, He's my lamp, and he's my rock. David knew what

it was to trust God. He lost his family, he lost he lost

his job, he lost his friends, he lost his prophet, he lost

everything. He lived alone as saw for more than nine years tried to murder

him. He had to depend on God, and so he knew that who

God was in his life and that he was more than worthy to be praised.

But you know why he's worthy a few other things. He's worthy because

he's a judge, and he's worthy because he has a heaven. And he's

worthy because he could allow me or allow someone to go to Hell. Matthew

ten twenty eight in the Amplified reads this way, and do not be afraid

of those who can kill the body, whoever that is, any human being.

Don't be afraid of them because they could kill your body, but they

can't kill your soul. But rather be afraid of him who can destroy both

the soul and the body and Hell and Gahenna. That's why he's worthy to

be praised, absolutely worthy. He's a righteous judge. And if I serve

him, follow him and believe in Jesus Christ, there's a place called heaven

as a reward. But should I deny him and reject him and play around

as a Christian, then I want you to know there's a place called hell

too. Here's what the superstar celebrity you could play it right now, Alice

Cooper said when he recently are a few years ago, rededicated his life to

the Lord. You know a lot of people say, you know, I

came to Christ because my love of Jesus. I came to Christ because I'm

my fear of God. I totally understood that Hell was not getting high with

jam Morrison. Hell was going to be the worst place ever. In fear,

I came back to the Lord. But I went to another church,

and that pastor preached the love of Christ. Which now you put the two

together, and it was exactly right. Romans eleven twenty two says we must

consider both the goodness and the severity of God, God just kind of loving

father. And I don't know why the Alice Cooper I forgot to preview,

tell him, just give me Alice Cooper. But anyways, doesn't eybody know

who Alice Cooper is? No, wow, I forget see, just a

different generation doesn't know that who Alice Cooper is. But anyways, I want

you to recognize that to live worthy is to personalize who he is to you,

to make him your priority, and to make him your passion in everything

you do. And so because of Colossians one eighteen, which I love Colloshion

one eighteen. It's not on your thing. I'm gonna ask you to go

to your bible app or whatever. You go open your bible to Colossians one

eighteen. Right now, we're not going to put it on the screen.

Don't put it on the screen. Make them go to open their bibles.

This is one of an amazing scripture that describes why he's worthy and Colossians one

eighteen. It says this in the King James version. And he is the

head of the body the church, who is in the beginning the firstborn from

the dead, that in all things he might have Who does anybody see the

word there? What does it say? Pre eminence. It's not a word

that we often use in the English language, but it's a word dedicated to

God himself. The word preeminence means first place, first place. He has

pre eminence. He has first place in your life. He is worthy,

absolutely worthy to be praised. It's amazing how many of us and we can

all be guilty. And it's not saying it's wrong, but we could be

star struck over a celebrity or someone famous or some superstar, and we could

be odd and wild and astonished. Now that often looks like you scare at

them. You want to take your picture with them, you want your autograph.

For slum, they want to sleep with them. For some they want

to do them favors. For some they want to shake their hands, or

they want to meet them, or that's often what's done when you see a

celebrity. I wonder what we do when we get with Jesus that far exceeds

those expressions. At how many of you've ever seen a celebrity? You guys

need to get out a little bit more because you do live in Los Angeles

area church to get hummy, you've ever seen a celebrity? Okay, there

you go. You're being honest. Now did you have any feelings? Did

you have any emotions? I don't know, did you? I mean,

it's not right or wrong. I'm just telling you, did you or didn't

you? You know, we I took the family one time to Disneyland here

and we had we were eating at Goofy's kitchen and the next thing I know,

I saw Adam over there talking to Matt Damon and then they were talking

like they were buddies. I'm serious, Just buy the buffet. This thing

went on for ten and fifteen minutes, and I was thinking to myself,

you know what, Adam is not starstruck with anybody. I mean, this

guy is like, you know, his best friend right now. And I

see I see him laughing. So I got a little jealous and I went

over there and said, Hi, I'm Matt, I'm Adam's father. A

pleasure meeting. Yeah, I was the one more starstruck than Adam. Can

we be starstrucked over Jesus? That's all I'm saying. Does he bring the

awe on the wow? And you where you stare at him and you want

to do him favors, you want to take a picture with him. The

next word, we're almost done is found. The third worthy that we look

at is found in Colossians, that you may walk worthy of the Lord,

fully pleasing and being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge

of God. To walk worthy of the Lord. To walk worthy of the

Lord is to walk worthy of his love, to walk worthy of his grace,

to walk worthy of his mercy, to walk worthy of his wisdom that

he gives you, to walk worthy of the authority that you have in Christ,

Jesus, the name of Jesus that you get to use. Walk worthy

of the comfort that he brings you, and the peace that he brings you,

and the unceasing and unchanging nature of who he is. You are to

walk worthy of the Holy Spirit that dwells with you through the fruits and the

gifts that He can give you. You're to walk worthy of the intimacy that

you can share with God, and to walk worthy of the fellowship that you

can enjoy with the saints, the brothers and sisters in God. I want

you to recognize that He truly is worthy. Let me give you a Let

me give you a few quotes here up on the screen about his worthiness.

Just a few quotes. It says this Christ is worth all or he's worth

nothing. Rick Warren says this, how much are How much are you worth?

Jesus says, with his arms stretched out on the cross, I'm willing

to die for you. Thank God. It's about because because you mean this

much to me. And here's this little story here, it's going to go

on the screen. I would like to buy three dollars worth of God.

Please, not enough. This is modern Christianity today. Not enough to explode

my soul or disturb my sleep, but just enough to equal a cup of

warm milk or a snooze in the sunshine. I don't want. I don't

want enough of him to make me love a black man or pick up beats

with a migrant some just to think about. I saw that and I thought,

Wow, that's kind of just an average comfortable don't want to rock the

boat, just you know, don't want to change, don't want to be

delivered. But he's worthy. And the last one is this in Philippians one

twenty seven. Only let your conduct be worthy of the Gospel of Christ.

So whether I come and see or an absent, I may hear of your

affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit and one mind, striving together

for the faith of the Gospel. Four times I've shared with you, from

Ephesians to Thessalonians, to Colossians to Philippians, to walk worthy of the Lord,

walk worthy of the Gospel, walk worthy of the calling. This one

says, to walk worthy of the Gospel? What gospel? The Bible that

you have and I have in my hand, that I can read that Bible,

that you and I are to walk worthy of that Bible brings me hope

that bribe. Bible brings me faith. That Bible brings me life. That

Bible brings me eternal life. That Bible brings me healing and deliverance. That

Bible brings me security. But here are a few things or pease that this

Bible brings as they'll go on the screen. The Bible brings me promises for

every problem that I will ever face in this world. The Bible brings me

I promise of comfort, of healing, of deliverance, of salvation. I

am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Where is the power of

God. The Gospel brings power into my life. It brings as strength into

my life that's beyond my natural strength or my education or my intellect. It

brings power into my life to overcome satan and the temptations and the evils of

this world and my flesh. It brings The Word of God perfects me,

It grows me, It matures me, It stretches me, It challenges me.

The Word of God brings God's presence. When I read it, it's

like God talking to me. And God's word brings me purpose, gives me

the meaning of life. It gives me the direction of life. It gives

me the mission of life, and the Word of God allows me to please

God. Absolutely, be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by

the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and

acceptable and what is well pleasing to God. I don't know what's pleasing to

God. But when I get into the Word of God, God's will is

revealed through his word, and now I find out what pleases God, and

I want to do those things that ultimately please God. When I go down

to San Diego, I go to this place called Sola Dead Mountain. And

on the top of Sola Dead Mountain is a twenty twenty five foot cross that

was placed there about nineteen the one you see nineteen fifty four. And there's

been all kinds of atheistic groups that have tried to take down that cross,

because that cross has power. That cross has a message, That cross brings

conviction. That cross doesn't have a natural voice, but yet it shouts something.

That voice, that cross doesn't have an imminent power to it, but

yet it's a transforming power. And I just want you to know that cross

still has a lot of meaning today and that cross has an amazing message for

first Corinthians fifteen says this, For I delivered to you first of all that

which also was received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures,

and that he was buried, and that he rose again on the third

day according to scriptures. Ultimately, here's my message, and I'll end it.

Jesus is worthy because he rose from the dead. Just that alone makes

him worthy of any attributes, any sacrifice, and every commitment. And I

think that the little boy who gave his lunch to Jesus knew that, and

the widow who gave her last night knew that. And blind Bartimaeus that shouted

out Jesus, son of David m Mercy on me knew that. And little

Zachias that climbed up the sycamore tree knew that. And Abraham that left earth

that Chaldeans, the all of God knew that. And Moses, who forsook

Egypt and the wealth of Egypt, seemed to know that. And Esther,

who would risk her life, seemed to know that. And I just want

to challenge you today, don't ever lose the fact that God is worthy today,

and don't ever stop showing in your appreciation to the fact that he is

worthy. Can we just lift our hands right now? Would you just talk

to the Lord for a moment, would you just you and him encounter him

for a moment. Would you tell him what he is worthy of in your

life? Tell him what he is worthy of? So so worthy, worthy

Lord, if we saw you two thousand years ago on that cross mard,

beaten, persecuted and bleeding from the crown of your head to the soles of

your feet, and died for us, we would declare you to be worthy.

We are unworthy. You are the one that makes us worthy. There's

nothing in us that is worthy of you, Oh God, but Jesus in

us is the value. And with that we want to give you everything in

all, in all, we want our relationship to be greater than it's ever

been before. We just want to turn it up, Oh God, intensify

it, Oh God, make it more real to us, Oh God,

because you really are worthy of how much you loved us. We show gratitude,

we show appreciation, and one day, ultimately we will stand in heaven

and we will truly see how worthy you are, Oh God, in Jesus's

name. Amen, Hey, thanks for coming to church tonight. Thanks for

allowing me to talk to you about Jesus. You and I are when germ

one virus won. Misshappen away from Heaven's gate or Hell's doors. You know

this. On Sunday, Pentecost Sunday, one of our founding members, Miss

Mackie, went home to Heaven. I've known Miss Mackie for thirty five years.

I knew Miss Mackie when she was around fifty years old, and mister

Mackie, now she's in glory. You know. The reality is we can

stop the aging process, and the older you get, it goes faster and

faster. Can anyone tell me that I'm telling the truth? My lord,

time time is just speeding up now, just speeding up. I just want

you to be ready, That's all I'm telling you. I pray you live

another hundred years. Sometimes that's not afforded. Some people live to be eighty

five years old, and some people live to be five years old. Some

live to be twenty and thirty years old. Though it's a tragedy, the

reality is it's a greater tragedy where they'll spend it in eternity. And yet

you and I have a choice. You and I can guarantee our future.

I can't guarantee how long I'll live, but I can guarantee where I can

go, where I will live. And that's one simple decision. And it's

not based on how good I am and how moral I am and how spiritual

I am. It's based on have I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and

savior? Do I believe he died on the cross for my sins and that

he is the only way to heaven and the only means to be saved.

God never created that place called hell for you. How was created for fallen

angels to be eternally damned there? But the reality was is that Adam and

Eve sinned, and that sin nature came on all humanity. And you say

that's not fair that I am to be a sinner because of someone else,

Well, it's not fair that you should be redeemed from sin and righteous because

it's someone else. That's what Jesus did. So you can negate the sin

and the debt of sin right away by accepting the sacrifice and the propitiation of

sin. You could say I don't deserve Adam sin, Well, then you

don't deserve Jesus's righteousness. But you do, and jesus righteousness frees you from

the debt of Adam's transgression today and today you never act the experience being separated

from God's presence. No matter how much hell exists on this evil, un

godliness and wickedness on this earth, it is still restricted by the mercy and

grace of God. Or chaos would reign rapid in principalities, powers and rulers

of darkness as well, and spiritual wickedness would take over. And that's what

the tribulation will look like. But God, in his mercy gives you an

opportunity to get saved today or sail a shadow of a doubt. I'm a

Christian, but I'm not serving the way the Lord like I should. I've

fallen away in and out. I'm like a bunny rabbit hopping around. And

I repent, and then I go ahead and do it again. And I

want to rededicate my life to the Lord. Jesus didn't die in the cross

so I could live some half bake life or say I love God. I'm

born of his spirit, just not fill with the spirit. All those hundred

and twenty were born again because they saw the resurrected Lord, because he walked

with them for forty days. He was seen by more than five hundred.

But yet he told those hundred and twenty to terry and wait in Jerusalem in

that upper room until they get filled with the Holy Spirit. So if the

Holy Spirit and being filled is not important, then why did he tell them

to be filled? I just want you to know you need everything that they

need that they had, and you want everything that they had. So when

I count to three, I want you to raise your hand wherever you are

as an indication to give your heart to the Lord, rededicate your life,

or to get filled with the Holy Spirit. Here we go one two,

one, two three, raise your hand wherever you are. God love you,

God, bless you. Say this with me, dear Jesus, I

want all of you. I surrender my life to you. I repent on

my sins. Give me the courage now to follow you all the days of

my life. Jesus, I welcome you into my heart to be my Lord
