Child Like Trust || Child Like Pt.2 || Pastor Nathan Mesa

Welcome to the Lesse Podcast. Here at Lesse, we seek the loss,

this week's message. Hey, family, if you have your Bibles or your

iPhones, if you read along, or you can take a look at the

screens. Today, we're going to be taking a look at a passage in

John chapter six, and so if you want to follow along on the screens,

I'm gonna take a moment to read it with you. We're gonna read

through thirteenth scriptures, so it wouldn't be too long, but just follow along

for a moment. It says in John chapter six, verse one. After

this, Jesus went away to the other side, to the sea of Galilee,

which is the sea of Tiberius. And a large crowd was following him

because they had saw the signs, say signs that he was doing to the

sick. And Jesus went up on the mountain, and there he sat down

with his disciples. Now the passover the feats of the Jews was at hand,

and lifting up his eyes, he then saw a large crowd that was

coming towards him, and Jesus said to Philip, where are we to buy

bread so that these people may eat? He said to He said this to

test him, say tests, for he himself knew what he was going to

do. Philip answered, two hundred denari worth of bread would not be enough

for them to get so little. One of his disciples, Andrew Simon,

Peter's brother, said to him, there is a boy here who has five

loaves and two fish. But what are they for so many? And Jesus

said, have the people sit down now there was much grass in this place,

So the men sat down, about five thousand in number. Jesus then

took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to

those who were seated. So also the fish as much as they wanted,

say as much, And when they had eaten their fill. When they were

full, he told his disciples gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may

be lost. So they gathered them up and filled the twelve baskets with fragments

from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten. And when the

people saw the sign that he had done, they said, this indeed is

the prophet who is to come and into the world. You may be seated

this morning. You know, as we take a look at what childlike trust

looks like, I don't think there is anyone more trusting than a child.

You see, when you look at a child, there's something within them that

has this innate ability to trust in something or someone that is bigger than them.

They have no problem surrendering their worries and doubts because they possess this sense

of wonder. You know, early last year, my family and I went

on vacation to Hawaii and all week I told my son, my oldest son,

Ezra, that I was gonna jump off black Rock by the end of

the week. Well, black Rock is actually in Maui, and it's a

natural volcanic rock that comes out of the ocean about eighteen feet high. There's

only one way to black Rock. You gotta swim out and you gotta climb

up. And so all week Ezra was like, Dad, I want to

do it with you. Dad, I want to go with you. And

I said, I don't know, Son, that's kind of high. I

don't know if you're old enough yet. Maybe in a couple more years we'll

see. And he said, no, Dad, I want to go with

you. Daddy, I trust you. I trust that you're gonna stay with

me. I trust that you're gonna hold my hand and we can do it

together. And that's exactly what took place. My son trusted me in that

moment that we could experience something together. I want you to look at your

own children or children that are in your life. They have this ability to

trust without over analyzing a situation. Oftentimes they trust the character of their parents

because of what they have seen around them and in their home. They learn

to believe that their parents believe the best in them, that the parents are

going to provide food and a roof over their head. They can do this

because trust is simply about believing in the reliability and the consistency of someone or

something. This is exactly what a child like trust looks like. In the

Kingdom of God, it is believing and knowing the character of God is always

faithful and consistent. But if we're honest. As we get older, there's

something that takes place within us. We can easily allow doubt to come in,

and experiences that we go through may hinder us from being able to fully

trust God, and it begins to taint our outlook. But what if the

confidence that is found within a child, the confidence that they have to trust

in the character of their parents, it's the same confidence that you and I

today family can possess in our faith towards Jesus. Through the lens of a

young boy that we just read, we will discover three postures of a childlike

trust that we can apply in our faith today with a heart to surrender.

I want to give some context to what we just read. Just prior to

this miracle taking place, we would have read that Jesus just preached his Great

Sermon on the mount Just before this, he continued to perform miracles. He

continued to share several parables with those that were following in his disciples. He

even gave his disciples power to heal the sick and to cast out demons.

And just before retreating off to the mountain, he would have heard of the

news that his cousin John the Baptist was just beheaded. And like we read,

Jesus just wanted to get away for a moment. He just wanted to

get away for a moment of rest and solitude with his disciples. That wasn't

the case, because as they approached the mountain. He looked up and saw

the thousands of people that were approaching. I want you to picture this.

The Bible says that it was passover taking place, right, So we're talking

about thousands and thousands of people that would have been making their way to Jerusalem.

Some of them have already known and had heard about the miracles of Jesus.

Some may have not, and just saw a big crowd traveling. A

thought, where are you guys going? What's going on? Where y'all headed?

Oh, we're gonna go see this Jesus. He's a miracle worker.

You can get healed. You want to get healed. Come on, And

so they begin to all make their way. The Bible says that there were

five thousand men. The women and children were not counted. Theologians believe in

scholars believe that we're talking more like twenty to thirty thousand people were making their

way up the mountain that day in need of a miracle. This was the

great multitude that was following Jesus that day. And like we read in John

sixty six, it says that when Jesus noticed the crowds approaching towards the mountain,

Jesus asked Philip, where can we go buy food? And he said

this to test him, because it says for he already knew what he was

going to do. But Philip said, two hundred denari worth of bread would

not be enough for each of them to get so little. The first posture

we discover is to have a childlike trust, is to know that God has

a plan for your life. He knew what he was going to do.

He knows what he is going to do for you. Jesus turns to Philip,

and Philip was the mathematician within the bunch, and he goes, hey,

Philip, where can we go buy some bread to eat? These are

our guests. We need to get ready to provide for them. And Philip

immediately begins to crunch numbers and calculate. Well, if let's look at the

problem. If I have five thousand men, women times children, and I

divide it by a day's wage, I don't know, Jesus two hundred denari,

which is about eight months worth of a salary. But even if we

spent that much, Jesus, it still wouldn't be enough. But if we

look at the scripture closely, family, if we really look at it,

Philip didn't even answer what Jesus asked. Jesus asked, where can we buy

bread? Philip answered with how much. Philip was immediately overwhelmed by the circumstance

and assignment that was before him, and he immediately inserted his insecurity and his

doubt into the equation. And that was never in the equation. When Jesus

asked him, he said where, Philip said how. Jesus questioning Philip was

not to actually get his input. Jesus didn't need Philip to solve it.

This is Jesus. Jesus is Jesus. Jesus could do what he wants.

But Jesus wanted Philip to show his faith. Jesus wanted Philip to see where's

your level of trust? Philip? In this moment, you see me do

miracles before? Are you ready to see me do a miracle again? Do

you have enough trust in my plan? Did I ask that, Philip?

Did I ask if we can afford it? Did I ask how much it

would cost? Did I ask you to be a mathematician in this moment?

Did I ask you to go and feed the thousands? Where's your trust?

Philip? How many of you been there? Before, like me, where

we easily respond to Jesus with how, and he didn't even ask that,

How am I going to pay this bill? How am I going to be

a leader? How can I get a promotion at work? How do I

raise these kids? And Jesus said, I never asked that of you.

Why are you coming back to with the how? And that's not what I

asked you to do. The inner Philip can arise in all of us at

some point where we easily jump to conclusions. And we jump to these conclusions

because often we look in the natural and we see what we can see and

what we can't see, rather than having the faith of the unseen and trusting

in Jesus and his plan for our life. When it comes to God,

family, we have to stop answering God with what we think he wants to

hear. We have to stop answering God with questions that he didn't even ask

of us in the first place. We have to stop giving him excuses to

where he is asking us to go and to do, and stop jumping to

worse case scenarios. It's not your job to worry about how the miracle may

come. It's your job to trust that He is the miracle within our life.

We have a saying within our house that goes, the math ain't mathin.

Okay, I'll break it down when I try to lose a few pounds

that I get frustrated and I go to Sona's Babe, I can't seem to

shake it. I go the math ain't mathin. She'll come to me and

go, hey, Babe, I saw this purse. Do you think I

can get it? I'm like, oh, you know, the math ain't

math in this month, Babe, I don't know about I don't know about

that. You see, God is not disqualified from being God because the math

doesn't add up within our eyes. The math doesn't have to add up,

and it often doesn't have to add up when it comes to God. We

don't find a solution within our life by calculating what we can see. We

find a solution by having trust in the one who can see it all and

knows the great plan for our life. Turn to someone and say He's got

a plan for you. Do you believe it? Yeah? So where does

this confidence come from? In trusting in God's plan for our life? This

confidence comes that you and I can have today simply because of his character and

his credentials. Just like when you're looking for a good doctor for surgery,

how many of you know, I'm looking for the very best. I'm going

on Yelp and Google and kaiser review and everything in between to read the credentials

of these doctors. I've recently been looking to get lasik done, and so

I've been doing some research because I'm tired of wearing contacts and glasses. I'm

like, it's enough. I want to wake up and see twenty twenty.

So I was doing a little research and I came across the doctor's office in

la and they were advertising normally six thousand, but if you book it by

the end of the month, it would only be twelve hundred dollars. I

said, huh, I heard that, right, Louis, Something ain't right.

Guess what the math ain't math in? Right? I want the very

best, and I'm gonna hunt and research till I find that doctor with that

five star review, the perfect credentials, with no mistakes whatsoever. And I

want to tell you today, family, that Jesus is the perfect record,

that Jesus has the perfect credentials, that Jesus has the five star review and

the perfect plan for your life. He knows what he is doing, despite

what we may think, and despite what we don't understand. In that moment,

he knows what he is doing. The scripture says that he knew what

he was doing all along. Remember that God has a track record of faithfulness,

He has a record of being present, and he has a history of

being in complete control. The second posture we discover to have and obtain a

child like trust today is believing in his power. Verse nine says another of

the disciples, Andrew Simon, Peter's brother, spoke up. Here is a

boy with five loaves and two small fish. But how far will they go

among so many? The message translate that last line as but that's just a

drop in the bucket compared to this crowd. So as the people got closer

up the mountain that day, we see Andrew now approach Jesus. Andrew's approach

is a little bit different than Phillips, because Andrew, even though he may

have had some trepidation, he still brought this little boy to Jesus. Andrew

still came to Jesus with just a little faith. I found something Jesus.

I don't know what it's gonna do. But it's a little something. And

sometimes all we need is the faith of a what a mustard seed to be

able to see God do something great within our life. That's another message family.

You see, the five loaves and barley, a barley, and two

fish was known as poor man's food. During this time, this little boy

was carrying around nothing of importance, basic food that you can get anywhere.

It would have been the size of this peta here or a small tortilla,

and the fish would have been no bigger than this, maybe even a little

smaller the size of a sardine. And see, in that moment, Andrew

brought what he saw to Jesus as something. And see, the Bible doesn't

tell us what this boy's name is. They don't say where he came from,

why he was there, or who even gave him food that day.

We don't even know if he's the only one with food that day. And

for all intensive purposes, no one would have cared or thought about that boy

or that food in the crowd. And maybe you've been there before, where

you feel like that little boy or a little girl in the midst of a

huge crowd, where life's circumstances are just overwhelmed, and you feel that what

you have is just not enough. You know, my gifts are not enough

at work, and you don't feel equipped maybe to raise your kids. And

like Philip and Andrew, the enemy will always use lies to minimize what is

in our hands, to minimize our gifts and our talents, and our abilities

and our blessings. He'll say, what's the point in tithing? You only

give so little. What's the point in going to church every week? You're

doing too much. You mess up every other week anyway, Why why are

you even doing all that? He will do everything to minimize what is in

our hands. And like the people around that day that we're following Jesus,

maybe sometimes you've been there before where we think I'd rather hang on to dear

life with the one thing I have, rather than giving Jesus all I have

with complete trust in him. It says in verse eleven. Jesus then took

the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed to among them

who were seated, so also the fish, as much as they wanted,

before any miracle could take place, before the power of God could move.

I love this that Jesus gives us a great example. He gave thanks and

he blessed the food. This is Jesus. He didn't have to do that.

He could immediately started performing a miracle, but he chose to pause to

give thanks to his father. I'm going to ask you today, family,

do you have enough faith to give to Jesus? Of what you've been calling

You're not enough to give Jesus your children that may be in giving you problems.

To give him your job, your gifts, your tears, your worries,

your anxiety, your hurt, your pain, your grief, and allow

him to exchange it for something power within your life. I recently heard this

statement that when the food was placed into Jesus's hands, he did not curse

the food. Jesus didn't say, this is all you got? Are you

kidding me? Andrew? Look at look at the crowd, Andrew? Why

would you bring me this? What am I supposed to do with this?

This is not enough? Jesus did not curse the food. He what he

blessed the food. But yet, how often in our lives do we go

about cursing the very things that are in our hands. How often do we

go about complaining about the very gifts that God has already placed within our hands.

You've been there before, because I'm gonna keep it real where you said,

Oh my gosh, my wife is getting on my nerves this week.

Oh these kids better. I'm so glad these kids start school next week because

they had been on my nerves. You know, I have a nice Honda,

but I wish I had that Mercedes like my neighbor. You know,

I got a good job, but I hate the people here and I hate

my boss, but I got a job. You know, I wish my

marriage was more like the Johnson's. I wish my wife was more like my

neighbor Kelly. I wish my husband was more like my neighbor john And before

we know it, without even realizing, we have destroyed and minimized the very

gift that God has placed within our hands. We've completely minimized the blessings that

God has already placed within us through what through our complaining nature and our complaining

spirit. When the young boy gave Jesus what was in his hands, it

was all that Jesus needed. Andrew may have thought, I have this,

Jesus, and I don't know what it's going to do. It's really nothing,

and it's true. This amount of food is really nothing and not enough

in Andrew or that little boy's hands, But it's everything in the hands of

Jesus. Turn to someone and say it's in the wrong hands. Your problems

are impossible in your hands. Best believe that your kids are gonna be overwhelming

in your hands. Your finances may look a little upside down in your hands.

Your marriage maybe a little jacked up in your hands, but it gets

better because if you're willing to exchange it and place it into the hands of

Jesus, watch out and watch what God can do, because there is power

in his hands. There is power in his presence. There is power in

us being willing to surrender. Jesus response to your lack today is bring me

what is in your hands. Bring me what's broken. It's not too big,

my daughter, Bring me that hurt, it's not too big. Bring

me what's messed up, Bring me that addiction, lay it right here.

Bring me your kids. Bring me that worry, bring me that grief,

bring me that fear. Trust me and watch what I can do. Do

you trust his power today? The last posture to have a childlike faith is

trusting in his provision. So after Jesus blessed the food, it says he

began to distribute it, and it says in verse eleven they ate as much

as they wanted. It just kept coming, And in verse twelve, when

they had eaten their fill, he told the disciples gather up the leftover fragments

that nothing may be lost. So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets.

Say twelve, how many disciples were they with fragments with the five barley

loves left by those who had eaten. Jesus said, Oh, you each

are gonna take a basket, because you're each are gonna remember the power of

what took place this day. You may have doubted me in the beginning,

but you're gonna take a little bit that's gonna remind you of the faithfulness of

God and my provision. It says in Matthew fourteen twenty they ate all they

ate, and they were satisfied, and the disciples picked up the twelve baskets

so that there was absolutely nothing left over. Jesus didn't just meet their physical

needs in this moment. They didn't. It says that they ate Jesus may

excuse me. Their physical needs not just slightly. In this moment, he

met it in an abundance. They were just content. He gave them an

overflow. Scripture says that they ate until they were satisfied or filled. God

is the master chef. Gordon Ramsay, Martha Stewart, don't got nothing on

Jesus. It went from a bite to an overflow. It went from a

morsel to a full hometown buffet. It went from five fish and two loaves

to twelve extra baskets. The power of Jesus, though, could have made

it that there was only one, not one crumb left over. His power

could have made sure that there was just enough to have not one spec left

over. But he chose that there would be an abundance. He chose that

there would be an overflow for them. He chose that they would be so

fully filled on the provision of God in this moment. A couple of months

ago, we took my two boys and my mom to Mexico, and right

before this trip, my youngest son, Enzo, discovered that he loves ice

cream Sundays. That's his new thing. Anytime we go out, Dad,

Mom, can I have an ice cream Sunday. Well, at home,

he only gets it maybe once every couple of weeks. Right, so we're

on vacation. First day, he goes, Dad, can I have an

ice cream Sunday? Okay, it's eleven am, we're on vacation, Okay,

you can have one. There he is enjoying his Sunday. Couple hours

later, Sonaz and I went for a walk and we come back to the

pool and guess what, My mom let him order another ice cream Sunday.

There's the second. It didn't stop there. At the end of the day,

he happened to help himself out the pool and to go ask the waiter

if he could have what one more ice cream Sunday. That boy got his

fill that day on ice stream, and he was more than satisfied. That's

all Enzo needed to hear when the waiter came over and said, Amigo,

have as much as you want. There's more than enough for you, me

and Ego. It was like that the whole rest of the week. I

don't think he's had ice cream since. The provision of God looks just like

that. In our life. Jesus is more than enough. And when you

think you've already experienced him. Watch out, because he can do more within

your life. His name is Elsha Dai, the all sufficient One, the

God who is more than enough. I love what David says in Psalms twenty

five five, You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil my cup what over flows. God's provision

in our life is not just meeting our needs, but he comes so that

he can satisfy our needs. Psalms one oh seven, verse nine says for

he satisfies the longing soul Psalms one five sixteen. You open my hand,

you satisfy the desires of every living thing and Isaiah fifty eight eleven. And

the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places, and

make your bones strong. What does provision look like today? Provision looks like

a restored marriage in your life. It looks like a random promotion at work.

It looks like the freedom from an addiction in a moment. It looks

like God keeping you from a car accident on the way to work. Provision

looks like healing within your body, peace within your home, guidance and deliverance

through a situation. However, any abundance or overflow in our life will often

be tied to our level of obedience. Our obedience is the practicality of the

presence of God and how we can access his provision. Today. You see,

family, when we are obedient to his word, When we are obedient

to where He is directing us, where he is leading us. When we're

obedient to have a pure heart and a repentive heart, and a posture of

humility and a desire to turn from sin, that is where we will often

see and continue to see God's provision within our life. The story just doesn't

end though, with provision, even though that's where we stopped. It says

soon after this miracle took place, the people went looking for Jesus. The

very next day, they realize that he was not in town anymore, because

Jesus has made his way to the other side to the sea. And when

they noticed this, they said, oh, we gotta go where Jesus is.

Come on, everybody, we're going across the sea. And they go

looking for more signs and more miracles. But now we read in verse twenty

five, when they found him on the other side of the sea. They

said to him, Rabbi, when did you come here? And Jesus answered

them, truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking me

not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of loaves.

Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures

to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. Jesus says,

guys, you're seeking me for all the wrong reasons. They wanted a

miracle worker, not a messiah. They wanted an immediate miracle in their life.

They wanted more food, they wanted more clothes, they wanted more healing

in modern day terms, they wanted more cars. They wanted more money,

they wanted more success, they wanted more houses, they wanted more positions.

But Jesus says, no, no, no, no, no no,

I have so much more more than just that. I have so much more

than just that physical bread. I have so much more than just that promotion

that you randomly got at work. I have something. In verse thirty five,

it says I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me shall

never hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. And in verse

fifty one he continues to say, I am the living Bread that came down

from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever.

And the bread that I will give for life of this world is my flesh.

Like the crowd that day, family, we all may be guilty of

coming to Jesus at some point just to get what we can get from him,

maybe just coming to him because we saw a sign or a miracle or

something that he did to someone close to us in our life, and that's

okay. But the physical bread that day was just a means to their heart.

It was just meant to be an open door for Jesus to come and

tell him that what you need is greater than this physical bread. What you

need is a living bread. But this was hard for them to understand.

And to partake of the bread of life is simply what John six forty says,

for this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on

the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life. The greatest miracle that

Jesus could have taught those that day as well as us today, is that

it is not just about the meal. It's not just about the sign.

It's not just about the miracle. It's just not about the car you drive,

or the house you live in, or the promotion you got, or

your kids or your spouse. It's about believing in me and having faith in

me for eternal life. How many of you have been there before like me,

and you realize that nothing good comes from going to a grocery store on

an empty stomach. Anybody, anybody have a story. When I started my

little fitness journey and eating healthy about three years ago, I started off with

a little bit of intermittent fasting, and so I thought it was a good

idea to go to Rouse on a Monday not having eaten after twenty hours of

going through a fast. So there I go into Rouse and I was like,

I got a game plan, I got my list, I'm gonna make

this happen. I'm gonna get in, I'm gonna get out. And as

I perused through the aisles, guess what, everything was calling my name?

Everything, Oh, you can make this this week. You could have this

as a snack, you could have this as dessert. And guess what.

There I was eating a hot bag of Cheetos in the produce sile before I

even paid for it. Don't look at a neighbor. We've all done that

before. I did a dumb mistake because I was so hungry when I went

into that grocery store. And the same thing is true in our spiritual life

that it is so easy to make dumb decisions when we are spiritually malnourished within

our life. And because we make those decisions, it's because we keep turning

to the signs. We keep wanting more money, more sex, more success,

and we keep turning to everything but the living bread to fill us up.

And we wonder why nothing is satiating us, because we have a God

sized void that only Jesus can fulfill within our life. And once you've established

this habit and this hunger for the things of the world, you get to

a point where I'm okay with just being sustained. I'm actually okay to just

curve my appetite. I'm okay just coming to church once every six weeks.

That's enough to kind of get me through. I'm okay giving a dollar every

now and then, like it's all good, Like I'm just gonna still make

it through. And we wonder why when we finally turn to God, that

we can't hear his voice, and we wonder why we open this book and

we get bored in two minutes, And we wonder why we try to have

a conversation and pray and we can't last more than three minutes. It's because

we are so spiritually malnourished on the junk of this world. When God desires

us to fill up on the bread of life, to satiate ourselves upon his

word, that when we've been chasing the wrong things. But the goodness of

Jesus is that we can change our appetite today. That Jesus didn't come to

merely satisfy the physical desires. Jesus came to completely transform our spiritual cravings in

our faith. He says to you today, then I'm not just going to

give bread for a moment. I want to give you bread for a lifetime.

We have to stop chasing the bread that has no eternal life and chase

the bread that was broken for us on Calvary. I want to ask you

this last question, family, and we're gonna get ready to dismiss today,

and you've been amazing. I want you to think back to when you were

five, six, eight, ten years old and it was time for lunch,

and the bell rang and you bolted out that class to head outside to

the recess. And there you go, and you sit down with your friends,

and you were so excited to open up your lunch to see what your

mom packed for you, or your dad packed for you, or your Grammar

and Nona packed for you that day. You were so excited to rip it

open and partake of the goodness in that moment. And how many of you

know at that age you were willing to share it with anybody. We're all

carrying something with us today. I want to ask you a personal question.

What have you been feeding on? What have you been feeding your marriage on?

What have you been feeding your kids at home? What have you been

feeding your spirit? Have you been feeding on natural things that will only diminish

and perish, or have you been feeding on the bread of life. The

bread of life is the only thing that will sustain us. Believing in Jesus

is the only thing that will carry us through. The boy that day,

when he brought his lunch, had no idea that what was in his hands

would be an ingredient for God to do one of the greatest miracles ever recorded.

And I don't know what is in your hands, But what is in

your hands today? I pray that you are willing to lay it at the

feet of Jesus, to worship his name, to exalt who he is,

to give thanks for what He has already blessed you with. And know that

God continue used to have a plan and through his power and through his provision,

he desires to exchange it for something wonderful in your life today, because

that is the God that we serve. We serve a God who is faithful.

Let us trust in him today. With a posture of a child,

let's pray God, we are so grateful for Jesus. We're so grateful Father,

through the lens of a child, that we can trust in you God,

God, children were so precious to you Father. And as we navigate

through this series, God, I pray that you continue to stir up within

us God, the postures and the attributes and the characteristics that we can have

that an innocent child has. God. Today, we can trust in you

God. We can trust in you God, because you are faithful. God.

That your promises are true. God, that your word does not return

void. Oh God Father, that we know you have a plan for our

life. Despite what we may be going through God today or tomorrow, God,

you still desire to bless us, You still desire to draw us in.

You still desire God to pour out the living bread and the living water.

May we partake of it today and understand that is the only way we

can be satisfied. In your name, we pray, Amen. I'm gonna

ask that you keep we give Jesus a handclap for a moment. Family,

I'll ask if you just bow your heads with me in this moment, and

we're gonna get ready to leave together. I just want to take the opportunity

and not take for granted that everyone here today has had the opportunity to accept

Jesus into their life. It would be a shame for us to have navigated

a message like this about understanding what trust looks like in Jesus and not give

you the opportunity to say I am ready to make that commitment. I've been

turning to the wrong things. I've been trying to get my fill on everything

but Him. But I realize today I'm done. Enough is enough. I'm

ready to turn to Jesus. I'm ready to stop playing these games. I'm

ready to stop having my foot half in and half out. I want to

give my life fully to the one who has me in the palm of his

hands. If that is you, then I'm gonna ask you to repeat a

prayer after me. It is not the prayer that saves you, but it's

the position and what we talked about, the belief in your heart in Jesus

that he died for you and that he rose again. He loves you today.

And wherever you've been beating yourself up about because you think you did something

so wrong, or that you're so lost, or someone has put in your

ear that you're no good, or what's the point I want to tell you

today, Jesus doesn't listen to none of that. He calls you my son,

he calls you my daughter, and he desires to be in a relationship

with you today and forever through eternity. So if that is you, I

ask you to repeat this prayer after me. I'll ask everyone to say it

together so everyone feels comfortable and welcome. Say, dear Jesus, come into

my life, cleanse my heart. I repent of my sins, make me

whole, and make me new. I confess that Jesus is Lord, and

I believe in my heart that God raised him from the dead, and I

am now saved in Jesus name. I pray Amen. We really hope you
