Welcome to the ALSS Podcast. Here at ALC we seek the loss, teach
-
the found, and send the disciples. We truly hope you're encouraged by this
-
week's message. Let's stand on our feet for the reading of the word.
-
We are in a series. The series is titled off of the word Favor.
-
We're playing off of it favorite Marriages. Pastor Adham has laid a masterful
-
foundation. I'm just so proud of him. He's ministering to me every week.
-
His illustrations are off the chain. How he exposits the Word of God
-
is a complete blessing. And today I'm gonna talk about a man named zach
-
Zakias, and I'm Zacharim Somemon Zachariah, not Ezekias. Zachariah and his wife
-
Elizabeth, and I'm gonna call her Liz. So we're gonna read a little
-
bit of this story in today's message. Subtitle it how to have a long
-
lasting marriage. How to have longevity in your marriage. Here's an old couple.
-
In the days of King Herod of Judah, there was a priest of
-
Abajah Division named Zachariah. His wife was from the daughters of Aaron and her
-
name was Elizabeth or Liz. Both were righteous in God's sight, living without
-
blame, according to all the commands and requirements of the Lord. But they
-
had no children because Elizabeth Elizabeth could not conceive, and both of them were
-
well along in years. They were old people, aged people. When his
-
division, or his assignment, his job came was on duty. He was
-
to serve as a priest, serving as a priest before God. And when
-
Zachari Zachariah saw him that was an angel. He was terrified and overcome with
-
fear. But the angel said to him, do not be afraid, Zachariah,
-
because your prayers have been heard. Hum prayers. Now your wife Liz
-
or Elizabeth, will bear you a son, and you will name him John.
-
That's John the Baptist. There will be joy and delight for you,
-
and many will rejoice at his birth. One more scripture. He said,
-
how can I know this, Zachariah asked the angel, For I am an
-
old man and my wife is well along in years. You don't think that
-
God knew that he was an old man, And you don't think God knew
-
that his wife was well along in you. But yet, in spite of
-
their circumstance. God gave them a promise that ought to be enough for us.
-
Stop looking at your circumstance and hold to the promise of God. And
-
so it goes on and it reads like this finishes, I am Gabriel,
-
who stands in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to
-
you to tell you of this good news. And then it goes on and
-
it basically says, you will become silent or a mute, unable to speak
-
until the day these things take place because you did not believe my word,
-
which were fulfilled in the proper time. You may be seated. Thank God
-
for the reading of his word. Sometimes you just need to keep your mouth
-
shut because your confession and your words will kill the promise that God has for
-
you. You will abort the promise of God. God wants to bless your
-
marriage, He wants to bless your health, He wants to bless your finances.
-
But your mouth is saying the contrary. So just keep your mouth shut.
-
Three week Patty Cakes went on Today, I want to talk a little
-
bit about Zachariah, and I want to talk about Elizabeth and how to have
-
a long lasting marriage. Now, if you're marrying late, that's okay,
-
you'll finish with a long lasting marriage. Or you're like me, who just
-
last year celebrated his fortieth anniversary with the wife of his youth. And now
-
we're in our forty first year and by the race of God, will have
-
many, many, many more years. But I want to introduce to you
-
at thought. If you've ever seen Roman architect Roman construction. You could go
-
to Italy today and see the Colosseum. Why is that building still standing?
-
You could go see the Pantheon? Why is that building still standing? Is
-
it because of the skill of the craftsmen. No? Is it because of
-
the climate that exists in Italy? No? Is it because of the tools
-
that they used? No? Come on, stay with me. I'm talking
-
about a long lasting marriage. What makes it has only been recently discovered that
-
scientists have figured out why these buildings are still standing. It's the cement that
-
holds the rocks together. It is a unique blend that was done two thousand
-
years ago by the Romans. It was volcano rock with limestone creating a mixture
-
that held the buildings together. Now, over time, earthquakes or movement of
-
the earth cracks begin to happen and rain begins to fall. Well, the
-
rain seeps into those cracks and begins to revite, And this is the mystery
-
they discovered. It revitalizes the cement and it actively begins to rebuild and fill
-
in the cracks of the damage that was done. That's the power of the
-
cement. I wonder if the Holy Spirit has some power in the fractures of
-
marriages today that can come in and view a repair so that it is durable
-
and has a level of longevity, that it doesn't have to fall by the
-
wayside like all the other marriages fall by the wayside. I notice in the
-
introduction, as we through this partition of scriptures, exposit just a little bit.
-
I understand about zach and I understand about Elizabeth. Notice it didn't say
-
this and because zach or Zachariah his woman, his wife was barren. It
-
didn't say that he was impotent. It said his wife was barren. He
-
did not go outside of his marriage to have a baby. I know you
-
can't relate. He didn't mistreat her because of some handicap or disability that was
-
in her. He honored her. The second thing I recognize is that we
-
don't know how long, but he continued to pray for a son. He
-
never stopped praying for a promise. He never stopped believing that God would use
-
him and his wife to give birth, even in their old age. I
-
know so many people people that are older that are barren. And I'm not
-
talking about naturally barren. They're barren in the Kingdom of God. They're not
-
producing, they're not productive, they're not doing anything. And the greatest way
-
for old people to get old is to stop working, serving, giving praying
-
in the Kingdom of God, you'll go old really quick, at least old
-
in the sight of God. So I love the fact that he prayed.
-
He probably the moment they got married, they tried to have a baby and
-
they couldn't, so they prayed through their teens. He kept praying twenties,
-
thirties, forties, fifties, God, I'm believing you for a second.
-
So how long can you pray before you stop praying about something because you get
-
discouraged and you quit. This guy spent hours praying for a son until finally
-
God was willing to give him the sun. Amazing to me. Then it
-
goes on and says during the time of his priestly duties. When he goes
-
in to serve as a priest, is where the word of the Lord or
-
the promise comes to him. If that man is not on his assignment,
-
if that man is not in his place, nobody wants to talk to me
-
today. If nobody, if that man is not in his position, he
-
is going to miss out on the word of the Lord. It is essential
-
within this society, within this world, I can solve every problem in the
-
world today, and I have a little education and a little bit knowledge.
-
Put the man back in the home and it will solve all the problems.
-
Let the man come back into his home and sit in the seat, his
-
position, and in his place. Okay, you'll want to tag this,
-
you'll want to write this down. See, here's what it is. The
-
devil is trying to get the man out of his place. And when he
-
succeeds to get the man out of his place, then the wife will replace
-
him and the family and the children will be displaced. Can you say that
-
again, No, I'm moving on. I'm moving on. I'm moving on.
-
It's a problem of society. The man is not in his place,
-
so he can't hear the promises of God. The last opening thing, and
-
then I'm gonna preach. This is like your appetizer. Is It said that
-
they were both righteous. That's a key to a successful marriage. That's a
-
key to receiving the promises of God. It doesn't say that Elizabeth was righteous
-
and the husband was all raggedy. Elizabeth prayed all the time and he never
-
prayed. Elizabeth went to church. He never went to church. Elizabeth tied,
-
he never tied. Elizabeth served and he never served. They both spiritually
-
were together. Emotionally, we're together. Physically we're together. They were together.
-
They were compatible, and we are dating people that we are not compatible
-
to then entering into marriage that we are not compatibible spirit, soul, and
-
body. They both were righteous, not one versus the other. If you
-
want a long lasting marriage, this is what the scriptures begin to unfold to
-
us today. Notice the Bible says, it says it's four times and Matthew
-
nineteen, I'll read it to you. Jesus said this in Matthew nineteen and
-
verse five. He also said this for this reason, pass Kinning, I
-
never saw this before. For this reason, a man will leave his father
-
and mother. We always said, we always when we preach it, say
-
a woman and a man needs to leave their father and mother, and that's
-
acceptable, and we identify that you need to build your own relationship and not
-
depend on your parents anymore. When tough times come, you can't run home.
-
We've done that for a thousands a long time. But I like the
-
way it says it. For this reason, a man has to leave his
-
father and mother, because if the man, it is showing the order of
-
God. It is showing the law of God here. And if you never
-
never understand this, you're never gonna understand the makeup of how God created a
-
man and a woman. In the difference of that that he created the man
-
first, he created He created the man from the dirt, but he created
-
the woman from the man. He said the woman will be the help.
-
Mat didn't say the man was to be the help. Way he says that
-
the man is supposed to love the wife. He never commanded the world.
-
I have to love them. And I'm going into a whole marriage conference right
-
now. But you've gotta understand the order he said. If the man leaves
-
his father and mother, he's saying this, then the woman will automatically follow
-
his direction. But if the man doesn't lead and initiate, the woman will
-
not be able to follow that. For this reason, a man will leave
-
his father and mother and be joined united, welded bond together with his wife,
-
and not says the two shall become one flesh. So here's what you
-
need to understand to have longevity in your marriage. It's a process. It's
-
a practice of time, effort, energy, and commitment. Here's my statement
-
on becoming right now, this is said this way. Becoming one is the
-
process of time that is not instant. The ceremony is instant, but a
-
marriage is developed over time. So don't get discouraged. Its work, its
-
effort. I don't care who tells you any different. It is. Every
-
marriage, no matter what, has its bumps and bruises, but the ones
-
that survive have high levels of commitment to one another and high level of covenant.
-
That Pastor Adam used the covenant not only to one another, but the
-
covenant to God. You take God out of it, and you're gonna be
-
driven by your emotions and feelings. And Pastor Adam talked about you're gonna only
-
have commitments. You will not have covenants, take God out of it,
-
and you have commitments, and commitments are limited. See here's the reality.
-
Anybody can get along in the bedroom. That's your honeymoon stage. I know
-
nobody wants to talk about. I know this has grown up messages for you,
-
and you could take off your halo right now. But the boom boom
-
room doesn't last. The knocking the boots might generate knocking boots. Man,
-
knocking those boots everybody. The bedroom is where the honeymo Can you live together
-
outside of the bedroom, in all the other rooms of the house. That's
-
a marriage. The honeymoon is we get along in the bedroom. But I've
-
known a lot of people that could get it on in the bedroom but can't
-
get along, Oh thank you Holy Spirit. Can't get along in the kitchen,
-
can't get along in the living room, can't get along in the attic,
-
the garage, and can't get along in the bathroom. Holy smoke,
-
a rootinge. This is what proverb says. Here's what proverb says. Watch
-
us proverbs, my son, share your love again. Order a father teaching
-
his son about marriage. What did I tell you about what the devil's trying
-
to do with men get them out of their place. So father doesn't son
-
doesn't know how to be a husband to his wife because his father never taught
-
him. This is David talking to his young boy Solomon, My son,
-
share your love with your wife alone. Drink from her well of pleasure,
-
and from no other. Why would you have sex with a stranger, a
-
stripper, a whore, a prostitute, someone on the job, or with
-
any other than her. Reserve this pleasure for you and her alone, and
-
do not share it with another. Watch this, Your sex life will be
-
blessed. Amazing to me that God does not walk out of the bedroom when
-
you and I, as married couples, are enjoying each other. God wants
-
you to have a blessed sex life. The Bible says marriage is honorable,
-
and the bed under fire. I'll talk a little bit more, but he
-
goes. He says, as you take joy and pleasure in your wife,
-
Your wife and your spouse is supposed to bring you joy. It says here,
-
the pleasure in the wife of your youth. Let her what okay?
-
Come on, what are you guys? Kinny gardners? Read the Bible with
-
me? Let her what? Good morning? Man? We have started service
-
about thirty minutes ago. I'm gonna let you read it one more time.
-
This might be as close as the men are gonna get to one of these
-
today. No, I'm just kiddy. This is gonna be the best night
-
of your life anyway. But let her breast be your satisfaction, and let
-
her embrace why he says, and let her embrace intoxicate you at all the
-
time. Don't act like you don't know what it is to be intoxicated.
-
And he uses the same word to describe love between a husband and a wife.
-
It's intoxicating, dude. If your love for one another is not intoxicating,
-
then you need to get fixed today. And that's why you're here today.
-
It's boring. It's boring to me. There's no life in it,
-
there's no feelings in it. Then that's not what the Bible says. You're
-
to be intoxicated, be continually delighted, and look at all the about ravish
-
with her love. How many of you recognize there's a difference between let's just
-
say this, a Smart car and a Honda or a Tyota car. So
-
if you and I want to choose a reliable car, a dependable car,
-
how many of you want to rely on? What kind of specifications do you
-
need when you go looking for a car? Just yell them out. What
-
are you looking for when you go looking for a car? Durability, mileage?
-
You're looking for mileage. Okay, that's good performance, that's very very
-
good performance. Yeah. Does anybody want to look at the car facts?
-
Come on, singles? As smart as you would be in shopping for a
-
car, why would you do less in shopping for a date. I'm looking,
-
I'm gonna kick the tire, I want to look under the hood.
-
I'm going to check the car facts. Your trw are, your blood records,
-
your social security, your experiences, your performance in the past promises.
-
Why would you be naive, Eve when this is your life? So?
-
How many of you recognize smart cars? Everybody bought a smart car? Lay
-
that cute little car? I mean, how many of you own a smart
-
car today? How many of you anybody out here there have a smart car?
-
Why? Because they don't? Last we're talking about marriage. Here we
-
go, with a few minutes that I have left, I'm gonna rip through
-
this as quick as I can. Let's throw up at the first point and
-
we'll talk about these parallels agreement yet different. This is what I've learned,
-
This is what the Bible learns about how to have a long lasting marriage.
-
You have to have agreement in your marriage. That means you're unified and you're
-
together. Where in your morals and your values, and your principles and your
-
ethics, in your faith as it relates to your family, as it relates
-
to your finances. Those are the important areas of your life where you have
-
to be an agreement. Marriages will not survive if there is not agreement at
-
that level. Values, morals, principles, how we spend money, how
-
we save money, work, ethics along those lines, faith, how we
-
raise families, yours, his ours, how we're going to do that.
-
There has to be an agreement along that line. Your kids, do I
-
discipline or do you discipline your ex? Do you talk to your ex or
-
you asked me to talk to your ex. There has to be agreement.
-
But at the same time, there's differences, and we learn need to learn
-
how to appreciate each other's differences and not always try to change that person to
-
be like you. I don't want to marry another diego. That would be
-
nasty. I could barely get along with myself, let alone another one like
-
me. But you think you want someone exactly like you, you don't.
-
It would drive you crazy. So you need to allow your spouse or your
-
future spouse or you. Every day you're an agreement on the essentials, but
-
on everything else you could have differences. We don't like the same movies.
-
We don't like the same movies. We don't laugh at the same things.
-
Cindy loves the shop. I can't stand the shop. She wants to walk
-
in Hallmark channels. I don't want to watch no hardmarked movies. But sometimes
-
I have to compromise because I just want to be with her. I want
-
to go out in the garage and play with my bicycle and two things,
-
and she don't want to do that, But maybe she'll follow me there just
-
have a conversation with me. So you have to be able to accept each
-
other's differences and not try to change each other. There's interests that she has
-
that I don't have. There's likes that she has that I don't want.
-
Their loves that she has she loves doing thing that I don't like, and
-
I have that. That's the way she is. See, here's some things
-
about Cindy, and I told her that, I tell you guys that.
-
She said, okay, And she's spending the day with her little granddaughter today,
-
so it's her day with her granddaughter today, Areel. So here's Cindy.
-
Cindy does not shop or will ever buy anything generic. Now, I'm
-
a very frugal, thrifty person. That was an immediate clash early in my
-
marriage because I would reach for the generic cornflakes because all corn flakes taste the
-
same, and if I could save twenty three cents, I'm gonna save twenty
-
three cents. She slapped my hand and says, oh, I don't do
-
generic, and she reached for the box that said Kelloggs with a tiger in
-
front of it. Now I could make that a major issue and drive that
-
and say I'm going to divorce this woman over that she doesn't like. She
-
doesn't like chodiso and she won't make chodiesel for me, man, why didn't
-
I marry a Latina who would love to make burritos and Childrenso for diegle see,
-
I can make it an issue. Don't act like you you don't know
-
what I'm talking about. On why people get divorces. I love to go
-
to garage sales. I love swap meets. I like to dick her and
-
I like to buy something. She don't do swap meats, and she don't
-
do garage sales. I bought an old table and I was gonna bring it
-
in our house as a dining She said, get that thing out of my
-
house. I don't know who's used this, sat on it. What the
-
heck you talking about? She does not do press on nails. And I
-
could go on and on and on and on. Let's move to number two
-
topic very quickly. Remember next one, please loving yet confronting. We are
-
to be encouraging to one another. We are to edify one another. We
-
are to accept one another. We are to make people feel important to us.
-
That goes without question that we're loving. But the Bible says what a
-
pastor Kinney's favorite scriptures to speak the truth and love. And many marriages do
-
not know how to confront each other. They are sometimes very intimidated by their
-
mate because they recognize what their mate may restrain from them, or the response
-
or the reaction. But if you're going to have a long lasting marriage,
-
you have to be able to know when to call your mate on the carpet
-
and when to correct them, and when to coach them and when to chasen
-
them. And great marriages do that. Look at Cindy, and this is
-
always done privately. If you want to early and masculate your man, that
-
correct him publicly and you watch how you'll emasculate that man. One of the
-
worst things a woman could do is go and talk to her girlfriends about the
-
problems of her mates. They do it all the time. So I men
-
don't want to get married. They'd rather not. Now I'm just saying,
-
the man isn't in his right place. So a woman has to find an
-
avenue or an outlet. But that is what it is. I don't want
-
you talking to your girlfriends about me. You could talk to me and say
-
all you want to me, and hopefully I'll change and I'll try to work
-
on myself, but don't talk to anyone else about that. So it's quiet.
-
That means there's a lot of people doing it. Whenever you hear quietness,
-
it's because a lot of people are doing it. I've been doing this
-
a long time and know what I'm talking about. You have to be able
-
to confront your mate's weaknesses again Again. God gave Eve to Adam as a
-
help mate. What does that help me? Every one of us have blind
-
spots, every one of us has vulnerability. So you have to be able
-
to be able to confront. So I'll confront Cindy uncertain things. She may
-
not like it. She could be emotional as a woman, she may We
-
respond to each other differently in her personality. I want to talk things through.
-
She wants to give me the silent treatment. We're different personalities. But
-
I've learned how to say what I need to say, back off and give
-
her space. Sometimes it's twenty eight four hours, sometimes it's forty eight hours,
-
and we'll leave it at that. But I know her heart, it'll
-
eventually come back around. I don't hamper her. I don't nag her.
-
I just said I said my piece. Now let me go ride my bike.
-
You and I have to learn how to fight fair. Don't know how
-
to fight fair. So to help you fight fair, I have a few
-
s's for you to look at to fight fair. Don't be a screamer,
-
don't yell, don't be a streamer. Not pouting and crying all the time,
-
playing the victim. Don't be a steamer using excuses and avoidance. Don't
-
be a steamer throwing things, slamming things. Don't be a studio I couldn't
-
think of another s studios just a drama queen, drama actor. Don't be
-
a striker. Strikers are absolutely you always have been this way, you liar.
-
You ain't always been this way. All men are like this. Those
-
are labeling. Don't be a shallow that's petty. Don't be a swear that
-
self explanatory fall and dirty words. And don't be a steward. Don't be
-
silent, noncommutative and holding on to things without sharing those third thing, third
-
thing, You're not going to get them all. I'm sorry. Maybe next
-
service will lay them all out. Let's go to number three. I'll try
-
it again as many as I can. Protection versus controlling. We all should
-
protect our marriage. You need to protect yourself. A man is responsible for
-
protecting himself from his temptations and his weaknesses. It's not my wife's first responsibility
-
to protect me. It's my response to to protect my wife. Then my
-
wife will work toward protecting me. But we have to learn toward this.
-
So protecting you got to learn how to protect each other. That protecting each
-
other means I want to know where you're going, I want to know who
-
you're with with. That's absolutely acceptable in a marriage. Cindy has a tracker
-
on me, not because she doesn't trust me. It's because I go up
-
in the mountains and I'm by myself and she wants to be able to look
-
on that tracker to make sure where I'm at. It's not because of distrust.
-
So protection is the fact that we follow up, where are you going,
-
how long will you be there? What time are you coming home?
-
That's a healthy coming. But when you and I have grown up in unhealthy
-
relationship, you get defensive. Who are you to be talking to me?
-
Grown up person? Don't be asking me. We are one And as much
-
as I would always want to know where my children are, I'm a protector
-
and I want to know always how to defend. I want to know how
-
to watch over. I want to know what's going on in the life of
-
my family. So there's a natural good protection that needs to exist within a
-
relationship. Me and Sydney used to fight all the time because this woman is
-
so independent. It's ridiculous and she knows that I go to bed early,
-
and so to go to I cannot go to sleep until she's in the house.
-
And so sometimes she'd come in past my bedtime because she'd be out shopping.
-
And I don't know what time these things close, but I know I
-
walk up to my bed around eight o'clock. And that's your curfew. Girl.
-
You can do it all you want all day long. About eight o'clock
-
curfew. I call her about eight thirty. I know how to talk to
-
my Cindy. How are you? What are you doing? I'm smart,
-
man, I ain't stupid. Hi. I was just checking up on you.
-
You're gonna be coming home soon. Now, let me tell you rewind
-
to the beginning days. Where are you. I'm trying to go to bed.
-
I can't go to bed until your blessed assurances. Oh you got five
-
minutes though. I want to talk that way. But there'd be something like
-
that, but she didn't hardly do it anymore. But when she does,
-
she said, diego, I'm stuck here. I'm stuck here, and she
-
does that so protection. But then there's this other part, which is the
-
controlling part, which is the unhealthy part of a relationship. Where I've got
-
to get permission from you to do things. You're controlling me, you're dominating
-
me, you're intimidating me, you're manipulating me. And so many men control
-
women along that line, and a lot of women allow their men to do
-
that. And one of the unhealthy signs in dating, in dating is that
-
when you have a man that starts separating you from your godly community, separating
-
you from church, and separating you from authority, that's a sign of a
-
weak man. He wants to control you. And so you need to see
-
that right away as oh, no, no, no, if we're gonna
-
move forward in this relationship. I go to church, I'm around my family,
-
those that love me. I know unhealthy relationships. I won't be around
-
those. But you're not gonna tell me along that line. Can't tell me
-
that. Are you okay with me? Okay, let's try to do one
-
more, one more and then I'll just give them the rest to you.
-
Equal sacrifice not equal giving. Okay. So we all carry the burden of
-
the house. We equally give, pray, serve, help out sacrifice.
-
We all equally work together within the home, We equally sacrifice. Nobody is
-
carrying, not carrying a burden. Nobody's not carrying the weight. Even though
-
even though that those aren't my children, I'm married into you. Oh drop
-
this little thing. Who you date and who you marry is a reflection of
-
your emotional mentality. So when you say you dumb old broad, that's a
-
stupid wife. But now you just revealed how stupid you are. She didn't
-
get He didn't get stupid overnight. You were stupider back then. The person
-
you married reflects your emotional stability. The person you married reflects your mentality.
-
No one put a gun to your head and forced you to marry someone.
-
I don't even know what point we're on. Equal sacrifice not equal giving.
-
But there are times when one may carry more of the weight, where one
-
may work longer hours than the others, when one takes care of the house
-
and the children because the other person isn't feeling well during a period of time
-
or they've got to work, and so it doesn't always balance out. But
-
the heart of caring and loving for the house is equal. When I had
-
to work sixteen and twenty hours when this church first started, I never mowed
-
the lawn. I didn't have time Cindy did. I never washed the car.
-
I didn't have time, Cindy did. I hardly was able to go
-
to anything related to the to at school. Cindy did all that. I
-
didn't cook a meal, I didn't do laundry. I was working sixteen and
-
twenty hours. But I love my family and when I was there, I
-
was trying to be there, and we were working through the difficulties of the
-
season that we were in. But it may not have always measured out.
-
I'm not into big role playing. I'm not into stereotypes. Your home is
-
your home, and I should not judge you on your home. So if
-
one's a cook and the other isn't a cook, one does laundry, the
-
other doesn't. One's the principal breadwinner, the other the wife makes more money
-
than that. I don't care. God doesn't care, as long as there's
-
equal sacrifice. Okay, five more minutes. Okay, next one. Let
-
me just see what it is. I don't even know. More deposits than
-
with draw that okay, So all that matters is that long lasting marriages has
-
to have more deposits than withdraws, because everybody is gonna act stupid sometime that's
-
your w draw period. Everybody's going to be emotional, that's your withdraw period.
-
Okay, everybody's going to be sour sometime. That's your withdraw Here and
-
see, we can handle your withdraws as long as you have more deposits kindness,
-
goodness, generosity, long suffering, sweetness. But you always have to
-
make sure there's more what deposits than withdraws. Okay, next one, next
-
one, very quick? Oh Jesus hm, attract. Okay, let's go
-
on. I'll come back to all end with this and let's go next to
-
it. Is there another one? Yes, there is, there's one more
-
best and good. There you go best and good. Make sure that you
-
always give your best to your spouse. You give everything else good. I
-
know people that give their best on their job, especially men. It's women.
-
They give their best to their job, and they give their husband or
-
mate good. Your best is reserved, your best emotion, your best conversation,
-
your best time, your best affection. That goes to your mate and
-
your home. Everything else you're just good at. You're just good at.
-
They are your priority. Your best goes to your home. Everything else is
-
good, it goes everywhere else. Okay, go back all end with this.
-
Now we're at three minutes the last. Now you're going back to what
-
intimacy attraction versus intimacy? Okay, Number one, Spouses should always, to
-
the best of their ability, ask their mate, how can I be attractive
-
to you and remain attractive? You're not becoming attractive to other men or other
-
women. Okay, You're not to be an expert in women and men.
-
You're an expert in your spouse. Always Men, I'm an expert in women.
-
You're stupid. You ain't no expert. You got a wife, especially
-
crying every night. Because you're an expert in women, be an expert in
-
your wife. Don't be an expert in women, because every woman and every
-
man is different. So remain that. I always remember there's a difference between
-
affection and romance and intimacy. You have to figure that one out. Men
-
only know intimacy, but that starts off at seven o'clock in the morning.
-
Women want a hello in the morning. They would I like a kiss in
-
the morning. They'd like you to cook them breakfast in the morning. They
-
want to make sure that their car is clean, their gas tank is filled.
-
Now you're gonna have good sex all night or at least three few minutes.
-
But anyways, you have to learn. That's why every Monday is date
-
as date after forty one years or still dating. No matter how stress for
-
our lives are, we haven't been able to connect. Mondays are all she
-
could vent if she wants to vent. I wish I could tell if you
-
were marriage conference, I go further, but I can't, so I won't
-
do it because I see young kids here. But we always come together.
-
We do not go long periods of time without coming together. I cannot tell
-
you, nor anyone else tell you durations nor positions. Early in my marriage,
-
I let somebody, a preacher, speak into my marriage on what my
-
bedroom should look like. And it was the worst mistake. That my guidelines
-
are my scriptures. My guidelines are the holy ghost. My guideline is my
-
wife saying it's okay or it's not okay. It's not someone else telling me
-
what goes on in my bedroom. Marriage is honorable. The bed undefiled learn
-
from my mistakes. But here's I end with this. Cindy knows what and
-
that I am because I I am a man, and eighty percent of men
-
are built this way. We are attracted by what we see. Just because
-
I'm attracted to you doesn't mean that I'm gonna have intimacy with you. And
-
women need to understand just because a man is attracted to your woman doesn't mean
-
he's gonna have intimacy. So don't be insecure. See how quiet has gotten
-
because I'm hitting it. See I told you so a side. I am
-
absolutely accountable to Cindy in all realms. I'll say, Cindy, that was
-
a beautiful woman. She says, she was beautiful. I make myself accountable,
-
Cindy, this is what happened today. She makes myself. I make
-
myself accountable. She protects me. She protects me. If we go somewhere
-
and she there's my seat is looking at someone with a hiked skirt and her
-
boobs are exposing, she says, would you like to exchange seats? Absolutely,
-
she protects me. We're watching a movie and you know they're so blurred
-
today. I mean, I don't know how you could look at a rating
-
today. And so she'll just say is this okay? Is this okay?
-
And I have to be honest with her. No, it's not because that
-
image. Because I'm a visionary will stay with me in my mind for three
-
or four days. I'll see it again. What do you want to do?
-
And then she lets me leave. So quiet is oh, I love
-
this quietness. So it's okay to be attracted to somebody. But that means
-
that what that means is but I can't touch you, I can't talk to
-
you, I can't hang around you, I can't visit you. And intimacy
-
is I share my vulnerabilities and my transparencies and my secrets. That only goes
-
to one person on the planet, that is Cindy. I cannot share my
-
vulnerabilities, nor my transparencies, nor my weakness with anybody else. There's only
-
one person that has the grace of God to fulfill every desire within Diego.
-
Most women could fulfill a lot of desires in Diego, but there's only one
-
woman that's one hundred percent proof because that was God's gift to her and to
-
me on the altar. It's reserved only. Father. Thank you for the
-
message today. I pray that it resonates in the hearts of people today.
-
Now, if there's any couples here today, I'm gonna ask you to have
-
the courage now by grabbing each other's hand, and in a few moments,
-
I'm gonna ask you to stand to your feet. If you feel like the
-
enemy is trying to abort your marriage, then stand your feet. If you
-
feel like the enemy is trying to terminate your marriage, stand your feet.
-
If you feel like the enemy is having you just want to walk out and
-
quit on your marriage. That you do not fulfill it, it is not
-
fulfilling to you. You're struggling to finish. I want you to stand on
-
your feet wherever you are, and we're gonna pray for you. We're gonna
-
pray that you finish and you fulfill and there's a fullness in your marriage.
-
And you're not going to abort the plan of God. And there's not going
-
to be a premature or early death to your marriage. There's not going to
-
be an extermination nor a termination to your marriage. You will live with the
-
wife of your youth or your latter years, all the days of your life.
-
Father, I lift these marriages up to you now. There are many
-
more, by the spirit of God, that should be standing. But that's
-
okay because they're not at the place. They're still full of pride, they're
-
embarrassed, but I asked that sues still honor, still touch. Now I
-
ask that you bring a miracle and that you bring a healing, and I
-
pray that these marriages walk out of here as though they were in a marriage
-
conference and just go ahead and continue the conversation at lunch or at dinner or
-
tomorrow of what was talked about today, and may that be liberating and free.
-
In Cheetah is Jesus name, Amen, you may be see to thank
-
you. I want to end with this, thank you so much for coming
-
to church, allowing allowing us to talk about such a sensitive private area in
-
people's lives, and that is their marriage and everything else. Thank you for
-
that. Next week, I'm gonna encourage you. I'll be preaching next week
-
on anonysis saphira, which is a dysfunctional marriage. So if you know anybody
-
that you believe is in the area of dysfunction, that would be next week's
-
message. The Bible says, it's appointed unto men wants to die in after
-
this is judgment. Do you know that you have an appointment with death?
-
You could try to prolong it with eating good and really trying to be safety
-
minded and not doing anything crazy. But the reality is is you have an
-
appointment with death. And I don't know if that appointment is going to take
-
place when you're eighty and when you're ninety, or when you're one hundred or
-
even sooner. But here's the reality. Every human being, no matter what
-
culture, no matter what race, no matter what death, cannot avoid the
-
appointment of death. Everybody has a due date and a time and a location
-
and a place where you're going to die is appointed unto man wants to die,
-
appointment with death, appointment with death. Then he goes on to say,
-
after the appointment is pointing men wants to die, and after that is
-
judgment. He's telling you what's going to happen the second after you die,
-
the moment you close your eyes on this earth and you die physically, what's
-
going to happen next? He says, you have an appointment before the judgment
-
seat of God. God is a judicial God. God is a righteous God,
-
and God a just Scott, and he will rehash your life and looking
-
at all the opportunities you had to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior,
-
repent of your sins, and believe that he died for you. He
-
will, he will, he will. Before there's any talk of damnation or
-
punishment or exclusion, he first will give you the opportunity to know, and
-
he'll record it. I don't know exactly how it will go, but it
-
will show that he is just. But after that is either the rewards or
-
the judgment that will come. It will catch nobody, or it should catch
-
nobody by surprise. Today, I don't want you to live in the mystery
-
of knowing what's going to happen the day after you die. There's too much
-
to risk. This thing is like forever and forever and forever, and the
-
decision you made can determine where you'll spend it in eternity. God loves you
-
today. He's not mad at you today. He's loving you enough to sharing
-
the message with you of forgiveness and eternal life and love. Say, with
-
a shadow of a doubt, I'm a Christian, but I've wandered away from
-
my faith. I'm writing. I'm writing the defensive Compromise today, in and
-
out, up and down, and I want to rededicate my life to the
-
Lord. When I count to three, would you just raise your hand for
-
any of these things, giving your life to Jesus. Rededicate your life to
-
Lord. We're going to pray for you. One two, one two three.
-
Raise your hand wherever you are. Okay, let's say this prayer together.
-
Say, Dear Lord Jesus, I'm a sinner. I need to be
-
saved. I asked you to save my soul from future judgment that would come.
-
I don't have to be afraid of dying or what it's going to happen
-
after I die, because today I accept the payment for my sin, the
-
sacrifice for my sin, which is Jesus Christ. Now I ask you to
-
be my Lord and be me my shavior. Amen. We really hope you
-
enjoyed the message, and if you said yes to Jesus, we just want
