What’s Your Next Yes? || Pastor Aaron Levy

We have a new series called the Values of Vision.

And before I say anything, I just wanna honor our

lead pastor for entrusting me to open up the series.

I've never opened up a series on the weekend, so

I just honor my lead pastor, Pastor Adam, for entrusting

me for this. It was an inspiration from him. So

thank you, Pastor Addum. Who's ready to squeeze the scriptures

this morning? Yeah, we're gonna be in John chapter thirteen.

So if you brought your Bible, go ahead and go

to John chapter thirteen, and I'll give a little bit

of the why behind our Values of Vision series. We

have so many new families that are joining us in

our patriot. We have people here for decades. We have

people here that are first time guests. And we thought

we would spend an entire month as a refresher to

some or introduction to some on who our vision and

our values are. So many of you.

Know our vision.

We have a threefold vision and our vision is too yes,

and our values are so you see how we had

less participation there. I'll share this generally and then I'll

share the heart behind our values. You need vision and

values to get victories. Vision plus values equal victories. Like,

if you only have vision and you have no values,

you'll compromise to get victories. If you only have values

but you have no clear vision, you'll never.

Know if you have victories.

So this week, over the next four weeks, we're gonna

lean into those four seas christ community, character, and commitment.

Those are the guard rails of how we execute the

vision of Seek the Loss Teesta Found, Send the Disciples.

When I honor our founding pastor Pastor Diego, he started

this church with twelve people in his home with that

vision of seek the Loss Teesta Found and Send the

Disciples act. Then in his home, he didn't have HR,

he didn't have policies and procedures, didn't have employees.

But then we grew, and as we grew, Pastor.

Diego put two documents in place, Staff Values and the

Culture of ALFC, and all staff have used these as

our guiding principles of how we execute the vision.

But when it was in Pastor Diego and.

Pastor Adam's hard to expand to campuses, what we wanted

to do as a team is reduce these documents to

four words.

So the very start of the Church.

Of those values are those same words Christ, community, character,

and commitment. This weekend we get to learn more about

the value of Christ, and we pray that not only

will you learn more about patriot, but that your gifts

and your talents will be activated in our patriot so

we can seek the lost ties to fountains in the

disciples together. Amen, let's all stand to our feet. John

Chi thirteen. I'm gonna read verse one through five. I'm

gonna reduce the entire talk to one phrase. Right now,

Christ loves, Christ leads in Christ is Lord, Christ loves

he leads, and He's Lord. I'll be reading from ESV now,

before the feasts of the Passover, when Jesus knew that

his hour had come to depart out of this world

to the Father. Having loved his own who were in

the world, he loved them to the end during supper,

when the devil had already put it into the heart

of judas Is Scariot, Simon's son to betray him. Jesus

knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands,

everybody say hands, We just had communion elements in our hands,

and that he had come from God and was going

back to God. Rose from supper, he laid aside his

outer garments and taken the towel tied it around his waist.

Then you pour water into a basin, began to wash

the disciples.

Feet and to wipe them.

With the towel that was wrapped around him. Let's pray God,

thank you for the vision and values of Patreon. I

thank you Christ for you showing your love to us. Now, God,

as we get into your scriptures, may we learn not

just about the disciples, but as we are disciples, help

us to learn these values for ourselves so we can

apply them in our lives. In Christ's name, we pray,

a man, you may be seated. You may be seated.

When we look at John chapter thirteen, verse one through five,

I think this is one of the best examples of

Christ's demonstrating love because you have the Father who is saying, hey, son,

I'm gonna put all things in your hands. All authority

is in your hands.

Now.

I want you to think, family, if God came to

you and said, hey, I'm gonna put anything you want

in your hand right now, what would you choose.

You could have one thing, You's gonna put.

It in your hand, right now, what would you choose,

what you survey, what you've been praying for. Some of

you are praying for the mortgage race to drop, you know.

Some of you are praying for your spouse. Some of

you are praying for your health, some of you are

praying for your kids.

And all those things are good.

But Christ, showing the value of love with all things

that he could have in his hands, decides to put

our feet to wash us in his hands. What love

of Christ, I have, all authority, I have all options,

Give me those dirty feet. That's why we're looking at

the value of Christ here. And see what we're gonna

do is talk a little bit about cultural context so

it can help us. So back back in the in

the day, the disciples weren't wearing Jordan's they were wearing sandals,

and then when they would.

Walk, they were clean.

But they will walk in a fallen, dirty world. So

then there's sandals. They probably a picture on the screen,

this is what a disciples feet would look like. Well,

some of your feet today look like this right now.

But that's okay. But what happened was custom back then.

There would be there will be these water basins at

the front of people's house, and it was the job

of the slave to wash the feet of those who

come in the house. Here's why there's a lot of

times in scripture when they're eating dinner or supper, the

scripture will say they reclined at table. So when they

were sitting at table, they weren't just sitting. How you

and I see it where you can't see the feet. Well,

what happened is when they will recline at table their culture,

it will be a low table that will use their

left elbow for support, and they will use their right

hand to eat, and their feet would be out like this. Now,

pitch Jesus looking at the dirty feet of the disciples,

and your feet is in my face, feeding by my

pew of bread. Right. So, so what Jesus is trying

to do is say, hey, nobody washed the disciples feet.

He saw the need and he took the lead.

So he washed the feet because the disciples wouldn't do it.

And the reason why I'm.

Saying he's doing that for us because it brings more

color to the scripture when you know the story of

the disciples that were there, that were there.

So for love, lead and Lord, what we're.

Gonna do is zoom in to the life and story

of one of the disciples, so we can apply our

life to how Christ would treat us. You guys down

to do that. And I don't have the sandals that

the disciples have, but I have the best thing. I

have the new version of disciples sandals. They're called crocs.

These crocs are amazing. Their discipleship shoes. You can baptize

in them, you can preach in them. The very comfortable.

They save your feet, right.

But these are the twelve Disciples. It looks at their diversity.

But when we looked at the first part, it said

that you have the Father directing Jesus to love, but

you have Satan directing Judas to betray. So what we're

gonna do is come out of our shoes and we're

gonna go into Judas shoes. Now here's Judas shoes. They're

pretty nice.

You could dress these up.

The difference between these crocs and the other ones, there's

no holes in it.

And no matter what.

Christ tried to do for Judas, it never penetrated his heart. Right.

So as as as I'm trying to put on these

these shoes, oh shoot, Judas, he always gets He always

got money stuffed everywhere. He's always focusing all bady, look

at Judas, Hey, Judath, he got money on his mind.

Now when I'm when I'm putting on the shoes and

I'm thinking about Judas's story, I'm actually feeling kind of

good right now.

I got a good job, I'm.

Hanging with Judas, I got good gifts and every thing

like that. But I have money on my mind.

And there's a.

Question that when I want to ask all of us,

is what do you value more?

Your resume or your eulogy?

Because your resume is how you describe you to get

in the room. Your resume is how you describe.

You to get approval from people.

Your eulogy is how others describe you when you're no

longer in the room.

Which one do you value more?

Because I went to Israel recently and that just so

happened and negotiated to get some artifacts and I was

able to purchase Judas resume. You guys want to see

Judas resume. Okay, it's not in mint condition. Here's Judas

resume right here. Let me pull it out and this

is Judas. It was in a scroll back then, so

here it is. This is Judas. He's the CFO of

Kingdom Operations. And when he sent his resume and he

had pictures, this is inflexing with the chief Priest.

He would always hang with him for opportunities.

But if you look at his skills, his skills are

financial management, negotiation, strategic planning, confidentiality. Look at his references.

Jesus Christ is his reference. The chief priests are his reference.

But here's what we don't see.

In someone's resume.

He does have negotiation skills, he does have confidentiality, but

not to value Christ.

To betray Christ.

He used his skills to finesse with the chief priest

to betray Christ. You know what's so crazy when you

think about Judas and he's getting his feet washed by Jesus.

Can you picture Christ washing his feet while he has

this in his pocket, And that sounds like, well, a

lot of you got a lot.

Of us on our faith journey.

We come to church and we allow Christ to wash us,

but we're still holding on to what has our attention.

I wonder what we're valuing that when Christ tries to

wash us, it really can't penetrate our hearts because this

is on our minds so much. It was money for Judas.

I don't know what it is for you. But when

Christ tries to wash us, he wants us to release

everything out of our hands so we can be free

in Christ.

And this is what Christ would do. Christ doesn't try.

To dominate us and dominate he noticed Christ he washed

Judas feet. He was like, everybody's loyal except Judas. No,

he's not like that, because Christ Christ loves. But here's

what Christ will do. He will try to influence you

to change your values by allowing you to see others

in your life that already have their values changed. I'll

give you an example. Have you ever gone out to

lunch with a friend and then you order food, and

you'd be like, let me get those chicken wings, let

me get French fries, doctor Pepper, and then let me

get a chocolate shake, right, And then your friend says, oh,

can I get King Wong?

Let me get up.

You have a multi vitamin and so organic water. He'd like,

we got some different values. You ever been on a

double date and then you're walking with your partner and

the other partner they're holding hands, they're skipping. They have

pet names for each other. They're kissing each other and

you're looking at your partner like, man, we don't even

we don't get down like them?

Is something wrong with us?

I remember recently getting challenged in my values because I

was traveling with Pastor Adam and Pastor Ashley. We're at

a conference, and I was like, next morning, I'm gonna

get up and I'm gonna go to the gym and

run on the treadmill. So I get up, I go

to the gym. Pastor Ashley's already in the gym. She's

staring in the memror looking at her shoulders, and I'm like, like,

show different values, different values. Why am I saying that?

Because we're in John chapter thirteen, but as well as well,

if you look at John chapter twelve, because in John

chapter twelve, there will be another dinner party, but it

would be Jesus' feet that would be anointed by Mary

A Bethany. Judas was at that dinner party. So while

Christ was washing Judas's feet, what he was thinking about

is his money or Mary, who was already honoring Jesus.

And I just so happened to have Mary's eulogy.

I got Mary's eulogy. You guys want to see Mary's eulogy. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Hopefully the church will reimburse me for all these things.

But if we look at the life in the legacy

of Mary Bethany, I'm not gonna read it all, but

they instructed me about her homegoing service. There was some

pictures that was on her program, and she was always

at Jesus' feet.

When her brother died.

When she was at his feet, Lord, if you had

been here, my brother Lazarus wouldn't have died. Luke chapter ten,

verse twenty five. She sat at his feet for his teaching.

And then in John chapter twelve, what she would do

is break some perfume and break it on Jesus' feet

and use her hair to anoy his feet. So what

it says here in lou of Flowers the family's requests

to those who wish to honor Mary's memory take a

moment to sit at the feet of the Lord, listen

to his teachers, and seek a deeper relationship with him,

just as Mary did. Resume or eulogy, and as we

try to apply this in our life, there's three questions

that I want to ask us that I've been challenged

with and the three questions should be on the screen.

What's more important to you?

Values are valuables?

Values or valuables?

Because you know with Mary she broke a pure nard

imported from northern India and it was worth three hundred dinarii.

Judas betrayed Christ for thirty pieces of silver. Thirty pieces

of silver is worth less than three hundred dinarii, so

she gave more than double than what Judas took. Resume eulogy,

values or valuable. The second thing is how can your

value of Christ impact an entire room?

Can you picture.

Everybody in John chapter twelve, They're coming to the dinner

party and they smell something. Now, what does that smell?

This smells so good?

What is that?

And then you get directed to Jesus' feet. I wonder

what you and I can do to use our gifts

that from our kitchen table, from our jobs, wherever we're

at that people will see what we value and our

values impact an entire room and the things that we

do bring more value and attention to Christ.

And the last one is what do we want?

More approval of people or acceptance of Christ? What's more

important to you how you look or how you make Christ. Look,

here's an artifact that I got from Israel. This is

my last artifact. I have the actual hair weave that

Mary had when she washed Jesus feet. Why y'all, Hayden,

her hair wasn't that long. So what she did was

she had just got her hair done.

She took off her hair piece. That's why it was efficient.

She was able to get down and she was able

to wash the feet, and then.

She was able to put it back and keep it pushing.

That's what she did. I'm just making sure you guys

are awake.

But here's the thing. What if Christ.

Compels you to do something, but.

You just got your hair done, you just got your

nails done, you don't feel like doing it that what

do you value more how you look or how Christ looks? Hey, maen, amen.

May want to use that for one of my daughters.

So Christ loves, He loves. But the second point is

that he leads. He leads, and this is very interesting

because he loves. And that's how we seek the loss

the way that Patriot seeks the loss. We turn our burn.

We don't know street corners judgment. That's not our style.

Our style is the goodness of God. Leads to repentance.

So we're gonna love you as is. This is a

place where you belong, and we trust Christ that his

love will influence you to change. That's why we seek

the loss, but we lead in the way that we

strive to lead is by example teaching the found. But

here's what's hard about teaching the found. As I've been

on my faith journey, it's more about unlearning than learning,

and unlearning is harder than learning. And that's why we're

gonna see a one on one meeting with Jesus and

Simon p Because Simon Peter is already an entrepreneur. But

I'm not too influenced by him yet because I haven't

put his shoes on yet. Let me take Judas shoes

off and let me let me go to the big boys.

Because if because there is twelve disciples, but Peter, James

and John there were his inner circle. That's why these

crocs are a little bigger. So this is Peter, He's

the number one leader. So as I'm putting on Peter's crocs,

I got a I got a high business acumen because

I'm an entrepreneur. I've already had a fishing business I'm

a leader.

I like to take action.

I don't really like taking off my sandals. It kind

of wastes time because we got more things to go do.

Let's move let's let's move.

Forward, and Jesus will want to pause and allow Peter

to spend time with him in his presence. It'll be

wise for us to understand a little bit more of

the story of Simon Peter.

If we go to John chapter one, verse forty two.

I see something beautiful on how Christ would love and

lead Peter. What he says to him is, I love you, Simon.

You are Simon.

I accept you as you are, but you shall be.

Seaphist, which means Peter. Now here's what Simon Peter means.

Simon means listen. Peter means rock. What he's saying to

Simon Peter, what he's inviting us, is, if you listen

to me, you could.

Be a rock in my church.

So I love you as is, but in order for

me to lead you, you gotta listen to me, and

then you could be more established. And what Jesus would

do is turn Peter's stubbornness into boldness.

So if you're a leader and.

You take action, you may want to lean into this.

John chapter thirteen, verse six through eleven. John chapter thirteen,

six through eleven. He came to Simon Peter, who said

to him, Lord, do you wash my feet? Jesus answered him,

what I'm doing now you don't stand, but after you

will understand. Unlearning Peter said to him, you shall never

wash my feet. Jesus answered him. If I do not

wash you, you have no share with me. Simon Peter

said to him, Lord, not my feet, but my hands

in my head. See how he's trying to maintain some

level of control. It's good to know the story of people.

Jesus said to him.

The one who has bathed doesn't need to wash except

for a seat. But it's completely clean, and you are clean.

But not every one of you is clean. He's in

his inner circle, so he can tell him a little

more information. For he knew who was going to betray him.

That is why he said, not all of you are clean.

A one on one leadership session with Peter and Jesus. See,

here's the thing that Peter has to unlearn. He's an entrepreneur,

but Jesus is training him as an intern, and it's

hard for an entrepreneur to be an intern. That's humility training,

and it's hard for us as leaders.

We're the ones.

That are used to giving the calls, used to giving

the place, people asking us questions, and now Jesus saying no, no, no,

this season, I need you to follow my lead. In

this conversation with Jesus and Peter reminds me a lot

of my conversations with me and my.

Wife because just like what he said, Lord, do you

wash my feet? You're not gonna watch my feet.

So like my wife, you'd be like, husband, what are

we gonna eat for dinner? We shall eat firehouse ups?

My wife, we shall never eat firehouse ups. Right, what

I'm doing now you don't understand. But if you get

the Turkey Club sandwich, you will be somebody you like.

You like that firehouse right. But here's the thing.

My wife was like, Hey, I'm gonna follow your lead,

but make it seem like I'm not like I'm I'm

gonna do what you tell me to do, but like

put it in a way. And that's Peter where I

wanna be the leader and I trust you as the leader,

but I'm a leader too, So how.

Are we gonna work this thing out.

And what happens is is it's hard for leaders to

submit to another leader. When you look when you look

at Peter's story, Peter is probably washing seeing Jesus wash

all the disciples sheet, and he's probably thinking, how long

is this gonna take? We're just gonna coom bay'a and

just talk about our feelings and we just no, we

gotta move we gotta move forward. We got and it's

hard for leaders to sit down and just be in

the presence of God. Can you imagine the quality time

that Simon Peter would have with Christ. Remember last Sunday

Pastor Nathan talking about those covenant friendships.

Jesus, being a.

Gentleman, will set out a chair for you, and he'll

serve you by washing your feet if you allow him to.

So Simon Peter is fidgety because he wants to take action,

and Jesus is saying, I'm trying to do something that

you're gonna need for a future season. So if you

imagine Simon Peter, now he's settled and Jesus is washing

his feet, and he's probably thinking about Matthew Chapter fourteen,

verse thirty when they were in a storm and he said, Christ,

is that you let me come to you right now?

And he tried to use his feet to get to

Christ and his feet failed. And now he's in the

future season and he's recognizing the very area I failed

is the area that Christ wants to wash me. And

any area that you failed is the exact area where

Christ wants to wash you. Here's what he has an

opportunity to unlearn. If we sit in the presence of God.

I was trying to be good enough to get to Christ.

When I'm learning as Christ was good enough to get

to me.

Can you picture him, because he's.

An entrepreneur, he takes ownership and his mindset if I

caused it, I'll clean it. And Christ is saying no, no, no,

If you cause it, confess it and I'll clean it.

Because first John one point nine said confess your sins.

He is faithful and just to forgive you of your

sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

Can you picture that quality.

Time that Christ and Peter would have when Christ will

look at Peter and say you are clean. I would

long to sit in the presence of God and hear

God say you are clean. How do we do that

we start every morning renewing our mind into the word

of God, who cares about Yesterday, we've repented, we moved forward.

You are clean, I thought with my spouse last night.

You're in the presence of God. You are clean. I

don't know what tomorrow.

Is gonna hold, but I gotta trust God.

You are clean.

Look to your neighbor and say you are clean.

Simon Peter would recognize. I don't have to live in

my shap of how I fail. Because leaders what they

do is they take action and sometimes they miss. Remember

you're trying to cut off malcous air his ear. When

we spend quality time with Jesus, it helps us to

get out of our shame as leaders, those internal thoughts

that plague guts say man. So we learn that he

will Christ will love.

We learn that Christ will lead.

But now let's see if we'll trust him as Lord.

And as we conclude, let's look at the last disciple.

I'm gonna put back Peter, putting them back here with

the big boys, Peter, James, and John. But but I

gotta go to the back onto a disciple that kind

of gets hated on. And i'ma We're gonna talk about Thomas.

You guys okay to talk about Thomas. And as soon

as I put on Thomas's sandals and I look to

the crowd, I feel some type of way about y'all.

And now see because y'all laughing at me because I'm

a disciple, I'm on the team, but you limited one

moment of my life and labeled me as doubting Thomas.

I'm not doubting Thomas.

I had a rough season, and why would you let

my rough season define who I am.

So if you're on the team, if you're on your

faith journey, but you're in a season and you feel misunderstood,

if you got some questions that are unanswered, you may

want to lean in to Thomas. And that's why it

brings more color to the scriptures. If we know, or

we use our holy imagine to think about what Thomas

is thinking about.

Here's what Thomas wants.

Us to know.

I wasn't always doubting.

I'm loyal. I'm on the team. If you go to

John chapter eleven, verse sixteen, what ends up happening is

when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, they would have

to go to Bethany and they would have to risk

their lives because they were trying to stone Jesus.

It was Thomas that.

Said, let us also go that we may die with him.

Why don't you call me down, Thomas? Then why do

people forget those parts of my life and only zero

into where I failed? There's so many of us that

have memorized. We have it on our bumper sticker. John

fourteen six. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth

and the and Thomas is like, oh good that you

memorized a well, where did you Who was Jesus talking

to He was talking to me in John chapter fourteen.

He said, don't be troubled. I am the way.

But it was Thomas that asked the question. He had

courage John fourteen, verse five.

He said, we do not know where you were going.

How can we know the way?

I'm loyal.

I just got questions.

And the faith journey is being able to follow Christ

with questions. That's what Thomas wants us to know. So

here's what happens in the faith journey. We start here

and Christ wants us to move forward. And Christ wants

us to move forward, and he wants us to move forward,

but sometimes a crisis happens in our life and we

get stuck. We get stuck with unanswered questions, we get

stuck with grief, We get hurt by God, we get

hurt by our spouse, we get hurt by our job.

And what ends up happening is we move on, but

we don't move forward.

Our soul stayed back here.

But we are right here. And the gap between where

we're trying to operate and where our soul is, that's

the temptation, that's the anxiety.

That's the pain, that's the peals.

Because what ends up happening some of us are in

a new job, but our souls in our last job.

Some of us are in a new marriage.

Are our soul is in our last marriage. And what

we say is you ain't gonna get the best part

to me because I that ain't gonna happen to me again.

And our soul has stayed behind. That's Thomas. That's why

he doubted. And I don't know about you, but Thomas

ain't the only one. I'm in line with Thomas that

have gone through some things. God, I love you, but

I got questions, if your Lord, why did this happen?

So now?

With that in our mind.

Let's look at Thomas, and we're gonna conclude in verses

twelve through seventeen. Now picture being Thomas in that moment

when he washed their feet and put on his outer

garments and resumed his place. He said to them, do

you understand what I've done to you? You call me

teacher and lord? And you are right? For so am I.

If I then you're a lord and teacher. Catch that

Jesus flipped it. Have washed your feet, and you also

watch one another sheet, For I have given you an

example that you should do just as I've done to you. Truly, truly,

I say that you a servant is not greater than

his master, nor is a messager greater than the one

who sent him. If you know these things, blest her

you if you do those things. We have to decide.

Is Christ our teacher or is he our lord? If

he's our teacher, we're looking for content. We're looking for

answers to questions. If he's our lord, we'll trust him

even when we don't know the answers. Our If he's

our teacher, if you don't answer my question, then I'm

staying right here. If he's your lord, you'll pick your

soul back up, and you'll keep moving forward because you'll

trust Jesus. Now look at the season of Thomas right now.

I've gave you three years of my life. Christ. You

said you're the way, the truth, and the life, and

you die, You let them rip your beard out. I

was ready to die with you. Where are you? Why

are you so silent? His grief, his misunderstandings. But here's

the thing. Christ resurrected. Christ is now back. And in

Matthew chapter twenty eight, verse nine, what ends up happening

is Christ he appeared to some disciples. You know what

those disciples did. They washed the feet of Jesus. Why

because they remember John thirteen, this is the proper place

where we need to be. But if you look at

John chapter twenty, Thomas was not with them when he

appeared to the disciples. And in his moment of his

soul being back there where Jesus washed his feet to

the new season that he's in right now, he says

something in his pain, and he says something in his grief.

That's why you.

Don't know that you're loved until your loved at your worst.

Because Thomas says this, unless I see those hands unless

I see besides, I shall never believe.

This is John chapter twenty.

I'm paraphrasing for the sake of time.

And then eight days.

Later, picture day one, two, three, for all the way

through eight where he's separate from the disciples. He's in isolation,

he's in his pain, he's in his grief. But Christ

loves and Christ leads.

He wants to show that he's Lord. So here's what

Christ will do.

Eight days later, He'll go right back to his soul.

It's a lot of times we want Christ to just

talk to our situation. No, no, Christ wants to talk to

your soul because if he fixes your situation and you

don't fix your soul, you're gonna mess up the next situation.

These are souls back there. So what happens is Christ

comes to Thomas. I understand you asked some questions. Thomas,

I'm Lord. Look at my hand. Now?

Can you picture this moment for Thomas.

He looks at Christ's hands.

And he thinks about his feet.

Who Christ washed my feet? But when he looks closer

at these hands, these hands didn't have these markings before.

I remember when he washed my hands. They didn't have

holes in him. They didn't have piercings in him. Oh

my god, him washing my feet was just a sign

of the greater work that he would do.

That he will wash my sins on the cross.

Here's what's very important for us to understand in our

faith journey. Notice what Christ did and what he didn't do.

Christ showed him his love, He showed him his lord.

He didn't answer his why. He didn't tell him why

he waited eight days.

He didn't tell him why.

No, Because what happens is if we get stuck in

our why, we don't have faith. And whenever we get

stuck in our why, it'll be wise to just surrender

to his will. If we look in his hands, we'll

see how much he loves us, what he did for us.

So we have a decision to make understanding what they

did to us, or understanding how much Christ loves us.

That's how we make him lord. So when you think

He says, my lord, and my God. He declared who

Christ is as lord. Because I don't need to know

all the answers. You don't have to answer my questions.

You're my lord.

You're not my teacher. So since you're my lord, it's

enough what you did on the cross to call you lord.

He said yes to the Lord. But the question for.

What is your next yes?

I got some signs here that will help drive this.

I gotta keep these in men condition.

I got two words.

That we often use that cannot go together.

These words clash. We can't call them lord and keep

telling them no.

This is this is the tension that happens in our faith.

Journey Lord, you wash my feet, You shall never wash

my feet. This is why our souls get divided. We

want to treat him as lord, but we keep telling.

Is Christ? You don't have to explain all the details. Yes,

you are my Lord, and whatever you have for me,

I will follow you. That's what repentance looks like. It

changes our mind. It's a change of direction. What is

I'm gonna stop coming to church once a month, and

I'm gonna commit the next fifty two Sundays, the next year.

I'm coming to church every Sunday. That's my next. Yes,

some of you my next Yes, you know what. I'm

gonna go to growth track next Sunday. I am plugging.

I am locked in to these values of visions.

I am saying yes, you know what.

I've been thinking about ty things for the last few year.

This is my Yes.

I'm gonna be generous with my finance. You know what

I'm gonna forgive my family member. I'm gonna leave that behind.

I don't have to have it all answered. I don't

have to have it all answered. I'm gonna say yes, Lord.

So I'm gonna take my soul with me because even

if my family deliver doesn't change, God changed me. So

I'm gonna continue to move forward. I'm gonna continue to

move forward.

Yes Lord, Yes Lord, Yes Lord, Yes, Lord.

Maybe some of your next Yes.

I'm signing up right now for the next baptism. This

Wednesday is going down. I'm getting baptized, and for the

rest of this month, after every service, there will be

a faith journey booth that says, what is your next? Yes,

because Patrio wants to walk with you in your faith journey.

Yes Lord, Yes, Lord, from the bottom of my heart

to the depths of my soul. Yes, Lord, completely, Yes,

my soul says yes, Heavenly Father, thank you for what

you've accomplished in your word. We receive your love, we

receive your lead, and we receive you as Lord in

Christ's name.

Could you lock in with me real quick?

The start line of our faith journey is forgiveness. So

what we do is we confess that we're sinners and

that there's nothing that we can do that will earn

our way getting to Christ. We learned that earlier with

Simon Peter. Christ came to us. So for some of us,

our next yes is saying, you know what, I'm moving

forward by receiving Christ's forgiveness in my life. Christ is

my savior. I am a sinner, but I believe that

God the Father loves me so much that Jesus's son

was willing to live the life that I couldn't live,

to die the death that I that I deserve, resurrected

for an opportunity to me to have relationship with God.

That might be your next yes, to give your life

to Christ, make him savior, but savior. A lot of

times in our minds we're only thinking about past sin.

Are we ready to make Him lord?

That's current decisions. Some of us feel guilty and wait

from how what we've done in the past, and then

we give our life to Christ. But then we continue

the same habits because we haven't.

Made him lord yet.

We don't consider Him in our relationships or our daily

habits or how we treat others. So this next invitation

not to just start your faith journey, but maybe we

need to continue our faith journey and say, you know what,

I'm going to rededicate my life and I'm gonna really

prioritize Christ being Lord of my life. What we want

to do as Patrio is we want to come alongside

you in your faith journey, and we're gonna do that

right now by praying with you. So I ask inside

outside please close your eyes, and I'm gonna ask everybody

to repeat this prayer after me. To encourage those that

are praying this prayer for their first time to start

their faith journey or to continue their faith journey by

rededicating their life to Christ. Is with me. Please, Dear

Lord Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross

for all of my sin. From this moment forward, you

are my savior and my Lord. Teach me to trust

you with my decisions. Show me my next yes, and

give me the courage to carry it out. In Jesus's name,
