Kingdom Legacy: Faithful Stewardship & Impact || Pastor Adam Mesa

We're going to jump into the Word of God, and

we're going to jump into a series that now we

kind of do annually in the month of November. What

we call Family Business is kind of where we talk

about God's Kingdom, finances in God's Word, and also what

we'll start doing every number, we'll also talk about vision

for our church. If you've been part of our church

for any number of years, you'll remember that annually in

April we do an anniversary service where we celebrate the

anniversary of our church, and we'd always share about three

projects that we're working on. One may deal with one

of our campuses, another may deal with an international project,

and others may deal with like a local project. And

what we decided to do this year was in April

twentieth when we celebrated our thirty years together. You'll notice

we didn't do an anniversary offering at all because we

actually from here going forward, want to separate those two.

So we want to have our anniversary service every year

where we just kind of celebrate God's faithfulness over the years,

and then in the November we want to have a

Vision Sunday, and so next Sunday, if Patriot is your

home church. We want to encourage you to come back

next Sunday or watch online next Sunday because it's going

to be what we call Vision Sunday, where we're gonna

talk about vision for our church. There's a lot of

updates we want to make with y'all. We want to

update some things about this campus. We want to share

about some projects about this campus. We want to share

about some international projects we're doing. But also we're gonna

share about what's happening next year in twenty twenty five. Okay,

So we have some new service times we're gonna be

announcing and stuff like that, and so you want to

be able to come next Sunday to hear the vision.

But also this month, starting next month, we'll be doing

a one time offering to take care of some of

these projects.

Okay.

So normally we would do that in April, we moved

it to November so that we can celebrate Vision together

going into the next year. So I encourage you to

join us. This week is really where we launch the

heart of Family Business. So if you have a bybee

with us today, would you turn to Luke Chapter two.

Luke Chapter two is where we're gonna find ourselves in

the Word of God today. It's a parable that Jesus shares.

Here's what's important to note before we get started. A

parable in the Word of God, especially the Gospels, normally

only Jesus taught parables. What they were were stories of

natural things that happen in life that had spiritual meanings

attached to them. So what you're gonna hear is Jesus

gonna give a parable, and it's gonna sound very natural,

but he's actually talking about something very supernatural. So that's

what we're gonna see together as we see what God's

family business is. God cares about his kingdom, the Kingdom

of God. You and I, when we say yes to Jesus,

we are citizens of that kingdom. That's what patriot means.

Family in God's kingdom, That's what you and I are. So,

if you're ready, would you stand for the reading of

God's word today as we honor God with our full attention.

Here's what the parable says. Then someone called from the crowd, teacher,

please tell my brother to divide our father's a state

with me. I'm sure you guys have never had any

arguments with your siblings or anything like that of that sort,

Jesus replied, friend, who made me a judge over you

to decide such things as that? In other words, why

you bringing me into your family business? Then he said,

beware and guard against every kind of greed. Life is

not measured by how much you own. Then he told

them a story. A rich man had a fertile farm

that produced fine crops. He said to them himself, what

should I do? I don't have room for all my crops.

In other words, he's living life in excess. Then he said,

I know. I'll tear down my barns and I'll build

bigger ones. Then I'll have enough room to store all

my wheat and other goods. And I'll sit back and

say to myself, friend, you have enough you stored away

for years to come. Now take it easy, eat, drink,

and be merry. But God said to him, you fool.

I never want to hear that from God. You will

die this very night. Or in other words, it's been

appointed that today is your last day? Then who will

get everything you worked for? Yes, a person is a

fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a

rich relationship with God. You may be seated. You know,

if you were to just read that without any context.

You know, I know normally if we read that, we

would think to ourselves, so God is against a savings account.

God's against a four oh one. K Wait wait, so

so the retirement plan that I've been putting a little

bit aside. Everybody like, am I supposed to put? Like

I can't do that? Or if you like my great grandma,

but growing up, I had heard that she didn't trust banks,

and so so she put her bank under her mattress,

and so all of her savings account was under her mattress.

And many of you might still do that today. And

do we hear that and we say, oh, am I

not allowed to do that. That's not what Jesus is

talking about. You see, there's a few things in this

parable that stick out. Number one, the moment the man

started to experience God's blessing in his life, he didn't

say just to himself. He said to his soul what

he needs to do. And there's a lot of times

where there are decisions being wake in this life when

it comes to our finances that are wisdom. And there's

other things that we say to our soul. And you

have to be able to know through a rich relationship

with God, what is wisdom and what is building up

for self in your soul? See this man in the parable,

he's building for himself. So, in other words, he's already blessed,

he's already doing well. He starts because of his harvest

to do better in life. And what he says to

his soul is, I know. Instead of going to God

and saying, God, what should I do with this increase? God,

who should I bless with this increase? He says to himself,

I'm gonna continue to hoard this for myself. I'm gonna

build bigger barns and I'm gonna sit on it. And

God says to the man, you didn't know that it

is your appointed time that you will no longer live,

And then what will happen is you no longer have it,

and then everyone just fights over it. And so what

Jesus introduces is this thought that it's okay to be

blessed by God, it's okay to be resourced by God,

as long as we have concern for His kingdom. First,

the Bible says, all other things will be added to us.

And so I just want to share for a brief moments.

Three things that we see in this parable that I'll

continue to share that Jesus breaks down with us. If

you're taking notes, here's the first thought I want to

share with you. What Jesus reveals to us in this

parable is this God is missional, not material. At the

very best, we can do God's will. At the very worst,

we can build a life on sinking sand. Here's what

happens when it comes to God. A lot of times

we like to impress others by material, or we find

value by material. This is what happened with the God.

He starts being blessed. Immediately, what he thinks to himself

is it's time for an upgrade. So, oh, man, I

can upgrade the house. I can upgrade the car. For him,

He's like, I can upgrade my barns. That was money

back then you get some barns. Now you upgrade your farm.

And what happens is he thinks that's what's impressive. But

when he dies, he can't take his barns with them.

And so this man, the original guy who goes to

Jesus and says, Jesus, tell my brother to split the

estate with me. He thinks that Jesus cares whether he

has more in his life or not. He thinks that

for some reason, that's gonna get Jesus excited. But instead

Jesus says, out of your mouth should be questions of

the kingdom, not questions of the material. And a lot

of times we our first thoughts in the morning are

the material instead of the immaterial, the things of God.

It's okay to be aware or have wisdom in the material,

but we cannot make a personality out of the material

because God is immaterial. And so what often happens is

we get to a place where we have to recognize God.

Am I connected to your mission here on earth. That's

our vision here at our church, seek the loss, teach

the found, and send the disciples. What our vision is

not here is to build big buildings and build great

things that are physical and all that stuff that may

come alongside of our gathering. But at the end of

the day, we seek, we teach, and we sin. Those

are things that are not connected to the material, that's

connected to the heart of God his mission. So you

and I are called to part take in the Lord's mission.

You know, there's a story I once heard, and they

say it's true. But how many of you guys have

heard a story that was so good that you're like,

there's no way this could be true. So I'll just

say right away when I tell this story, it could

not be true. Okay, So, but the meaning is all

the same. Don't knock me if it's so good, it

just comes to reality. Wasn't true, but it's claimed online

it's a true story. Well, what happened was is many

many years ago. I don't know exactly when the year was,

but it was at a time when, you know, when

many of you were kids where you could just go

down to the local supermarket or pharmacy and you could

get a soda or an ice cream and you didn't

have to have your parents with you. You guys remember

that day. I think my generation was probably the last

tell end of getting some of that. And I know

my dad's generation, I don't think they ever had adults

watching them when they were kids. They just roamed the

streets and just went everywhere. So I think the story's

connected to one of those years. And so what happened

was is there was a young girl and her parents,

and she had a little brother. Her little brother had

gotten very sick, and as her little brother got very sick,

the parents were doing treatment after treatment after treatment, trying

to help cure whatever the problem was that he had.

And so the parents they had taken loans. The parents

had sold all of their valuable things. They had even

downsized their home so that they can afford the treatments

for their son. And what happened was is they had

one last meeting with the doctor and the issue had

gotten worse. And so what happened was the little girl

test who's eight years old, she overhears her parents at

night talking and saying, we've run all of our finances.

We've spent everything that we can. He needs to have

a surgery in order for this issue to be fixed,

but we just do not have the money anymore, and

we cannot get any loans. And so the father says

to the wife, we need to just pray for a miracle.

So the little girl overhears that her little brother needs

a miracle. So she goes to her room. She breaks

her piggy bank open, and she pulls out from her

piggy bank a dollar and eleven cents. She pulls out

a dollar and eleven cents, and she slips out of

the house and she runs to the local pharmacy. She's

waiting in line in the pharmacy and in front of

her is a man in a suit talking to the pharmacist.

She waits for three minutes and he doesn't notice her.

She waits for ten minutes and he doesn't notice her.

It's about fifteen minutes and finally she says, excuse me, sir,

can you help me. The pharmacist looks at her and says,

little girl, I'm talking to my brother who's out of town.

You need to wait your turn. I'll get to you

as soon as I'm done talking to my brother. And

the little girl says, all I need to do is

purchase something from you really quickly. So the pharmacist looks

at her and says, what do you need to purchase?

And she said, I just need to buy a miracle

from you for my brother. And he says, little girl,

I don't have any miracles for sale. She says, I

have a dollar and eleven cents if that's enough to

cover the miracle, but I can maybe get some more

if it costs a little bit more. Do you have

the miracle in stock? And upon that time, he says,

little girl, that's not what a miracle is. What happens

is the man in the suit looks over to her

and he says, young lady, what is it. What miracle

are you trying to purchase? And she says, my brother's head.

It hurts my Mom and dad said he needs a surgery,

but they said only a miracle can solve it. And

he says, young lady, it just so happens that I

might have that miracle, and it's gonna cost you a

dollar and eleven cents, And so he grabs the money

from her and he says, take me to your mommy

and daddy's house. When they get to the house, he

asks mom and dad what's wrong with the little brother.

It turns out when they were in that they're in Chicago.

But the brother who was in the suit is actually

a neuroscientist in New York, and he tells mom and dad,

I want to take your son to New York with me,

and I want to perform that surgery for your son.

It just so happens they took him to New York.

They completely did the surgery. The son turned out to

be absolutely incredible. Mom and dad went to the doctor

and said, how much do we owe you for this?

And he looks at the little girl and he says,

it's already been paid for. You know, whether it's sure

or not, it's powerful nonetheless, because here's the reality. God

can do more with your a dollar and eleven cents

than you could do with your entire bank account. And

it's faith of a child who can hear a need

and can say I don't have much, but guess what

in God's hands it could do so much. Further, a

lot of times we look at life and the grandness

of the bills, the grandness of the surgery, and we're

always saying, God, we need a miracle. But what we

really need is we need faith to trust God, to

be connected to his story, to be connected to his mission,

to be connected to his business. Jesus said that to

his disciples one time, that he's about his father's business.

Question we gotta ask is are we connected to the

father's business. Do we walk out of the house and

do we expect that God can do a miracle or

do we pace in the bathroom. Do we pace in

the living room and just say, oh, woe is me,

I don't have enough? Or woe is me. We can't

do this, or this mission is too big, or these

things are too big, or there's too many things going wrong,

So therefore I need a miracle. Well, guess what God

can do miracles. When you read God's word, he does

miracles all the time. Here's the second thing God is.

God is generational, not national. At the very best, we

can pour into our children's children, and at the very

worst we can merely pour into ourselves. When you read

the word of God, God is concerned with passing an

inheritance of faith to the next generation. God does not

care what we build in our lifetime. He cares about

whose next lifetime we will impact. And that the man

who wanted to just build the barns, he wanted to

build the barns for himself. He thought he had plenty

of days left, He thought he had plenty of opportunity left.

But what would happen if not only we use wisdom

in our life, but also we look at the next

generation and we don't say, oh, the next generation is fallen,

the next generation is far off, the next generation is

so lost, or we look at the next generation and

we say, God, the next generation is right for revival God.

The next generation is right for awakening. The next generation

needs Jesus. If you look at the world of tomorrow

and you think it needs Jesus, then guess what. Your

sons and daughters are the ones who are gonna share it,

not some outsiders. Your children are the ones who impart

the gospel. We need to start now with the next generation,

showing them the grace of God, showing them the love

of God, and passing down to them. This church exists

for the next generation. We don't want to get to

the end of our life and say, wow, we did

something really great for thirty years, and in thirty years

this will be some type of civic center. No, we

want this church to continue to impact the next generation.

We want our children's children to still love Jesus through

the church. Psalms has a beautiful verse about this. Psalm

seventy eight four says this, we will not hide them

from their descendants. We will tell the next generation the

praiseworthy deeds of the Lord his power and the wonders

he has done. And it is not someone else's job

to tell our children of the wonders of God. I know,

oftentimes because we are very blessed people, and we have

great things like education, and a lot of times we

send our kids off to college and we think, Okay,

our kids will learn math by someone else, our kids

will learn English by someone else, our kids will learn

science by someone else. But guess what. You cannot outsource

God to someone else. It's our job to teach our children.

I know we're used to just Hey, you go to

school and you handle your Like my son, he asked

me about math, and they're doing that new type of

math or whatever they changed math, and I'm looking. I'm like,

I don't know how to do this, but I can't

look at the Bible and my son want to know

about Jesus because son, I don't know how to do this.

I have to walk in God's way. I have to

dwell in the shadow of the Almighty so that our

children see when they look at a world depression is

up and suicide is up, in anxieties up. They have

to see mom and dad walking in the grace of

God to say, oh, my God is generational. When you

read the Bible, God's not national. Pastor Diego said that

a bit ago. He said that Israel went through Persian

and they went through Babylon, and they went through this,

and they went through Rome, and they went but in

every single nation that they were under, they still were

charged to follow God. It didn't batter their circumstances surrounding.

Our circumstances and surroundings will always change. There will be

times you'll be living in the best of life and

there'll be times where you feel like you're living in

the worst of life. None of those contingencies should have

anything to do with your worship and you following Jesus,

none of it. And we have to show a next

generation that we're rooted in Jesus. We're not rooted in society,

We're not rooted in the world. We're rooted in the

hope of Christ above all things. Who is it that

we hope for? And here's the last thing is this

is God is eternal, not temporal. You see, God looks

at totally different lenses than we do. At best in life,

at best, we can plan for old age, and it's

my prayer that we all make it to old age.

That is the best thing we can do is plan

for a life of old age. But at the very worst,

we can live like no tomorrow. There was a saying

in when I was in my twenties, the Yolo generation.

Only you only live once. Generation. Guess what, you don't

only live once, you live twice. You live in this earth,

and then you stand before God and you live again,

and we live again as friend or foe. And so

either every day we can wake up and we can

live like there's no tomorrow, or we can recognize God,

if you would grace me to have old age in

this life, let it make it when I go to

the old age that there's a generation that loves Jesus

under me. Make it that when I live in old

age that my children's children follow and serve you. Make

it when I'm an old age that I could be

a financial blessing to my children and the next generation.

We can plan it. At best, God will give us

old age, but at the very worst, we can just live.

Every day. I do what I want, I live how

I want, I say what I want, I invest in

myself however I want, and I don't worry about anything

else or anyone else. See, God has called us to

be a blessing to those outside of this body, and

as a church, that's what we're gonna do. And we're

gonna continue service. It's a little different than today. But

as I talk about as a church, because we're gonna

share next week on Vision Sunday, some things about the

next generation and some things about why as a church

we're so concerned when you look at where the world

is going, there is a priority that God's Church has

to preach the gospel. And so we're gonna share that

we as we share, we believe in the next generation.

What we're gonna do today is we're gonna spend a

few moments hearing from the next generation. And so I

got some friends from Patriot Kids, and I got some

friends from Patriot Youth and Junior high and high school

who are gonna deliver an encouraging word to us today.

And what I want you to do is recognize hope

that God cares about the next generation. And as you

hear out of the mouth of Babes, as Jesus would say,

that it should stir us to believe that God is

gonna do something in the next generation, to believe that

God is not done winning the next generation. And you

and I have a part to play. We gotta nurture

that fire, we gotta encourage that fire. And so I'm

gonna have our friends start to come up. First, up

we have from Patriot Kids or Mayus Davis, he's gonna

come up. He's gonna share for a few moments with

us about the joy of the Lord. So ormaas, aren't

you taking away my friends?

Good morning everybody, and I want you to have a

I hope you enjoy this much message today, and we're

gonna start off with our verse. It's the Joy of

the Lord is my strength.

And that.

Raise your hand. If you have something that you love

that brings you joy, great, that's good. So I just

want to say today that you have joy all all

the through this week, that you have joy. And if

you your challenge this week is that I want you

to just actually, if you see somebody that like doesn't

know about God, like in our verse, how it says

the joy of the Lord. Yeah, the joy of the

Lord is my strength, tell that person about God, tell

that person about joy, and then after that they will

feel that joy. So all this, I just want to

say through all this that you have joy through this week.

Now I'm gonna let Pastor Adam take this away.

Yeah, yeah, that's the time, all right, big great job

have from our junior high student ministries is Jonah Martinez.

He gonna talk about the love of God. So Jonah,

come on up here man and take it away. He

got his iPad. He's so studious, he's ready to go.

Man.

Good morning, Patriot. My name is Jonah Martinez, and I'm

gonna talk about God's love and its power. So first,

a little background information about me is I've been coming

to this church since I was born, and my dad

works in the music ministry and my mom'ss every wednes

Sayer Patriot kids. I'm in the seventh grade. I play football,

track in basketball. But that's just a little bit about me.

So first I want to talk about the difference between our.

Love and God's love.

An example of something I love is football. I play competitively.

I play at Recess. I basically play that every chance

I get. But God's love is sending his son to

dan La Cross for our sins. God's love never fails.

God's love is strong and gives us soap. When we

think about love, we might think maybe a person, a pet,

a sport, or a hobby. But this isn't how God

wants us to love. He wants us to think about

it like this. Love is patient and kind. Love is

not envy or boss, and it is not arrogant First Corinthians,

First Corinthians, thirteen four. This is the kind of love

God wants us to have in our daily lives. John

thirteen thirty four. A new commandment. I give you love

one another, just as I have loved you love one another.

This reminds me of Ruth in Naomi. Ruth stuck with

Naomi even when she had the opportunity to leave during

a family This is an example of how God's love

brings us to get it and how it's strong. Ruth

stuck with Naomi even though Ruth stuck. Ruth knew and

Naomi would need help, and because she loved here. So

why is this important? This is important to know because

when we sin, we might feel like God doesn't want

us anymore, But that is incorrect and false. God will

always love us and watch us and keep us no

matter what. So some examples of God's love is maybe

waking up in the morning or having food to eat,

having a roof over our head over our head, and

having clothes to wear it's the small stuff that God

chose his loving God's love is everywhere. And lastly, how

can we use this? We can use this now only

to be affected by God's love, but to affect other

people with it too. The devil will try to get

us to think that maybe we just don't need God's love,

But I'm here to say that it's anything.

The devil is a.

Liar, and you will always.

Be one.

Romans eight thirty five. Who shall separate us from the

love of Christ? So tribulation or distress, or persecution, or

femine or nakedness or dangerous to it. What I'm trying

to say is nothing can separate the love that God

has for us, no matter how hard it tries. Lastly,

let us pray, Dear God. We thank you for this day.

We ask you to help us love like you God

and the love after you. And thank you for letting

me preach this message God. And I'm just repaying.

Man a man, Praise God, Praise God. Here we go.

All right, we got one more at bat we got

justin all the way from our high school ministry is

gonna come and deliver a word on courage.

So yeah, my name is Justinmatias. I'm sixteen years old.

I'm a student at lo Social's High School. So yeah,

Joshua one nine says, have I not commanded you be

strong and courageous, Do not be frying, and do not

be dismayed, for the Lord or God is with you

wherever you go. So for context, Joshua one nine happens

at a moment for the Israelites where Moses has just died,

who was Joshua's mentor, and Joshua is now in charge

of leading the people into the Promised Lands. They are

about to face numerous enemies, so now Joshua is feeling

the pressure. Joshua one nine is a call to bravery

and confidence in humility and surrender. God's call to Joshua

is a call to an inward transformation, not just a call.

To outward bravery. So a lot of the time.

When we think of courage, we think of it as

an outward display, something something others can see or admire,

when in reality, true courage is the inner transformation aligning

our hearts with God. God commands Joshua to be strong

and courageous. Now this is not just because of the challenges.

God knows Joshua is about to face ahead. But this

is because a leader's heart must be rooted in the

truth of God. Now, many of the times we want

a smooth and an easy path, but God shapes our

character through crooked paths and challenging seasons. God uses our

circumstances to expose and realign our hearts.

Now, there was a call I.

Said in the youth on five minutes a fire. I

say it again here.

It's don't complain about a crooked path when you yourself

have a crooked heart. Before we can walk God's path faithfully,

we must examine our hearts for envy. We must examine

our hearts for selfishness, as envy, sin hey, or anything

that could obstruct our way and lead us off of

his path. God's guidance is more clearly seen when our

hearts are aligned with His truths. Now, my second point

is that courage is not the absence of fear.

But trust in God's presence.

God tells Joshua not to be frightened or dismayed. Now,

it's normal to feel these feelings in the face.

Of the unknown.

But now what you do when you feel frightened or

dismayed is the question dismayed in this context means to

be shattered. The word courageous in the Hebrew is the

word omets, which means to be steadfast, bold, and alert.

For Joshua, God was conk him to be physically alert

and inwardly bold. My mom always has a saying whenever

I'm tired, whenever I'm not doing my homework, any.

Of that stuff.

But she's like, let God do the supernatural, and you

do the natural. So if I'm gonna be real, we

need to stop complain. We need to stop complaining about

being tired when we're up strong on facebooks or Instagram.

I don't know what you guys are on. Until one am, when.

He stopped complaining that we're so distant from God when

we're not taking the time to sit in our room

at night and pray. When you stop complaining that our

kids are far from God when you're not praying for

your kids. And my grandpa always said this thing. This

is off my notes, but my grandpa always said this thing.

He was like, my grandpa was in America and his

wife was in Syria, and he said that whenever his

wife would send him letters, he would read the love

letters over and over and over again. And he always said,

how are we going to say that we love God

when we're not reading the letter that he.

Gave us over and over and over and over again.

So we can't sit there and be like, God, give

us the strength.

God let us be courageous when we aren't doing our

part in the first place.

Now, this isn't to undermind that they're our real fears

and anxiety and stress in life. And when there is

God doesn't leave us alone.

In the fear.

He promised, He promised Joshua, and he promises us the

Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

So true courage is found in the realization that God

is always with us. And I remember a long time

ago I was I used to go here at uc

and I was outside and I was I was just

questioning the presence of God.

I was questioning if God is really with me.

And it was the ones and I was a worship

knight and before anything, Pastor Diego went on stage and

he said something to me that never made me question

the presence of God again. He said that God's presence

is not feeling that he's there. It's not you feeling

that he's there, but you trusting that he's there. That's

how we're going to really experience God's presence.

So we don't know.

We don't need to know the details of the journey

when we know who holds the journey in his hands. Now,

my third and final point is that faithfulness on the

path not perfection.

In circumstances.

We often expect God to remove every obstacle, but faithfulness

is not about a perfect path. Instead, God caused us

to be in the obedient in the midst of the imperfect.

Joshua's journey in ours isn't about perfectly straight paths, but

about steady and alert hearts. We are reminded in this

verse that God's presence is our assurance, not the conditions

of the path we walk. Well, let me tell you something.

My dad, he's sitting in the front. He's a super

wise guy. I look up to him and speaking and

all that.

But me and him we talk. I was I grew

up in the church, so.

We talked about Bible stories a lot, and we were

talking about David and Goliath, and David and Golith always

got bored and boring.

To me. It was like, Okay, the shepherd boy courageous

all that he killed the giant.

But my dad showed me the rest of the story.

He said in First Samuel seventeen fifty fifty to fifty one.

Am I ready to you guys? He said, So David

prevailed over golithe with his sling and with his sown,

and struck the Philistine and killed him. There was no

sword in the hand of David. Now the story I

was taught as a kid ended there. It ended there

was no sword in the hand of David, the kid's story.

But let me read you the rest. Then David ran

and stood over Golith and took his sword and drew

it out of his sheath and killed him and cut

off his head with it. When the Philistines saw that

their champion.

Was dead, they fled. So, yeah, it takes courage.

To knock the enemy down, But how much more courage

is it takes to cut the enemy's head off when

you are faced with giants in your life? Remember it

takes courage to throw the first stone. But don't stop there.

Cut the enemy's head off. Talk to someone about your testimony.

Keep on fighting the enemy, for we know we have

the victory in Jesus. So God's colin Josho one nine

invites us to courage, which is grounded in faith and

humility and our own lives. We must let God's words

serch and shape our hearts. When we surrender our desire

for control, we will find the strength to trust in

His plan as we try to find our own promised purpose,

or as we try to lead the next generation into

their promised purpose. Let's take courage not in our strength,

but in God's unchanging presence. Instead of seeking straight paths

that seek a straightened heart which is aligned with God's

truth and is open to his transformation.

Jap Man. Keep keep your mind on over. Okay, I

want people to know I just and you didn't know

I was gonna do this part. I just thought of

it right now, but I thought it'd be good. You've

gone to our private school for majority of your life. Okay,

here at UCA, but this year you felt led to

go back to public school, or really go to public school.

Why did you make that decision?

Yeah, so, honestly, I was I was grown up in

the church and I haven't been a Christian my entire life.

I was.

There was an area in my life where I was

really I would tell everyone I'm Christian, but I was

like atheisty done and sid I didn't really believe. I

was angry I got for a lot of things, and

so I wanted to reach those people who did, who

felt that same way, who felt like, you know, I

hear about God, to hear about Jesus, but.

You know I don't.

There's no one I could talk with about him. So

I wanted to be the personal connection of Jesus.

So yeah, So so at sixteen you felt led to

be a missionary in your local public school systems. Okay,

and then when you went to Loso Soos. What's some

things that you felt led to do while you were

at Lossos?

Yeah?

So there was a there was already Jesus clubs at

two other schools, Rancho and Atawanda. So I talked to

Pastor Herron, who's the youth pastor and my mentor, and

I was talking to him and I was like, yeah,

let's let's open.

Up a Jesus club by Lososo.

So we opened up a Jesus Club and we started

off with fifteen kids. In the first week and then

just four weeks later we have one hundred and sow kids.

And the Jesus A.

And last question is, uh, there has been some heartbreaking

things that have happened in Loso SOS few deaths, a

few suicides on top of some of our team. But

what did you feel led to do over the past

couple of months upon these suicides and these deaths that

have happened at your school?

Yeah?

So, first, first, obviously it's my mom. My mom always

taught me in any situation, when you're walking throughout the day,

you could just pray. So I was always just praying

to God because when when the first suicide happened and

the second one, there was a lot of like that.

It was depressing at the school. It was super depressing

and you could feel it down. But what I felt

led to do mostly was kind of not only share

like we know that Jesus loves us, but share that

there is joy in Jesus and share that you know,

we could like we could have conversation and we could

connect with people, not just stop speaking or any of that,

but just personal one on one connections and relationship to

share the joy of the Lord.

So yeah, and then and then you guys led a

prayer walk. Yeah.

Also we also did a prayer walk. We had a

lot of people. We had around like eighty nine people

that we did a prayer walk around Lo Sosos and

it was it went amazing. I mean you could really

feel like like that it was a transfer.

It was a shift like in the school.

Like you know, more people showing up to Jesus Club,

more people asking questions.

So yeah, that was good.

Yeah, man, that's great. And was it You guys were

walking around the school, but someone on staff saw you guys.

So there was a teacher, mister Duran.

He was also he's a he's a leader advisor of

another Christian club on campus. And we saw that, you know,

the gates were open, so we were like, you know,

let's walk through, let's walk through, let's pray over like

the literal campus. So we walked through, we prayed over

the classrooms, we prayed over the courtyard.

So yeah, that wasn't that.

Was really good.

That's great.

What I want to give us hope is again, it

doesn't take adults to make an impact. Jesus can make

impact through anybody. Jesus do no matter what that age,

God will call anybody as long as you'll see this

is someone who has leaned into the student ministries here.

This is great parents who serve and love the Lord.

You start seeing the parents aren't making an impact at

the school. Their child is making an impact at the school.

And we're all called to participate in that moment. So justin,

would you pray for us, and then we're all going

to prepare our hearts to step out together the God.

I thank you for this day. Lord, I thank you

for everything you've given us.

God.

God, I pray right now for the next generation Jesus. Lord,

and not only the next generation, but I pray for

the parents in this room. God, God, I pray that

the parents understand if the conversation's Lord don't happen at

the dinner table, that they will happen at the lunch table.

Jesus. So I pray that the parents here talk with

their kids. Lord, they share the good message of Christ

with their kids. God.

I pray for the youth Lord in this room, and

in the youth God, I pray that their hearts are

open to sharing the Gospel of Jesus, that they're not

scared they're not.

Ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus.

Lord, and I pray right now that you bless every

heart in this room, Jesus, that you bless their souls. God,

and I pray that our hearts are open to hearing

more of what you have to say, Jesus.

And I pray all this in Jesus' name. Amen, Amen,

Well, hey, we're gonna all leave here together, but I

just want to make an encouragement invitation for you today.

If you're here, if you feel that you're far from

Jesus and you've never given your life to Christ, Jesus

does give us a commandment that we're to love the

little ones, to care for little ones, and represent Jesus

by loving the next generation. That's why as a church,

everything we're doing, everything we're building, everything that we're endeavoring,

is for God's mission, not a human mission or a

human's mission. It's God's mission. And so if you're here today,

God makes an invitation to everyone through his son Jesus

that if you're willing to cast your sins aside, if

you're willing to cast your burdens aside, and you're willing

to rest your hope, your soul, and your salvation in

his son Jesus. That salvation is promised to us, hope

is promised to us, love is embodied through the work

of Calvary. And so if you're here today and you've

never given your life to Jesus Christ, you've never believed

that He's died on the cross and he rose three

days later, then let us be encouraged by the mouth

of young people that say that God is alive and active.

That you and I need to say I want to

participate in God's story. I don't want to see God's

story pass by me and me have nothing to do

with it. I want to be a participant in what

God is doing. And so if you want to participate

in calling upon Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior,

then I encourage you in this moment. Could we bow

our heads and close our eyes, Whether you're online, in

this room or in the courtyard or cafe, we want

to make an invitation today that if you're ready to

commit your life to Jesus Christ, if you're ready to

choose today to serve God and not serve man or

serve the world, if you're ready today to turn away

from your sins and fully hope in Jesus. It's not

a commitment to live a perfect life. It's a commitment

to live a life that follows Jesus. It's a commitment

to allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in this life. So,

if you're here today and you're ready to make that yes,

on the count of three, we're gonna or not on

the count of three, but right now, we're gonna confess

this prayer. When we're done on the count of three,

I'm gonna ask you to raise your hand so that

we can celebrate the decision you made today. We're gonna

say a prayer right now. The prayer is not the

thing that saves you. The Holy Spirit is already at

work in your life. We're just gonna affirm what God

is already doing. So would you join me in saying

this out loud right now, Dear Lord Jesus, in this moment,

I repent to my sins. I confess Jesus as my

Lord and my savior. I believe in my heart that

he died and rose again, and I choose to follow

him for the rest of my days. In Jesus' name Amen,
