  1. We're in the Book of Joshua.

  2. I love Joshua so much so that I named two

  3. of my son's middle names Joshua. So there's Nathan Joshua Messa,

  4. Caleb Joshua Messa. And then Sidy wouldn't let me name

  5. Adam Joshua Messa. But actually Adam's name is supposed to

  6. be Diego Joshua Messa. That's Adam's supposed to be his name.

  7. But there's so many Diego's in my family. Cindy didn't

  8. want another Diego, so she said, we're not naming him Diego.

  9. And she said, you could chose any other biblical name.

  10. So I said, okay, he's Adams. He's the first man,

  11. and that's going to remind me of something. And she said, no,

  12. that's enough Joshuas I said, you know what I give in.

  13. What do you want to name it? She said, oh,

  14. I love my brother's.

  15. Name Daniel Danny, so we'll call him Daniel and Danny.

  16. And so that's how Pastor Adam, not that you cared

  17. about it. But anyways, we're talking about the Book of Joshua.

  18. Let's read a little bit and let's break this down.

  19. You guys got your journals. We're working this year through

  20. like we did last year with the Book of Mark,

  21. kind of doing an expository, digging down deep and letting

  22. you understand the history of the book or the scripture

  23. ins which it was written, the overwhelming story because every

  24. single book of the Bible, virtually every verse points to

  25. one person.

  26. His name is Jesus.

  27. The book is his book, and the message is all

  28. about Jesus.

  29. So Joshua is like that.

  30. Joshua saves like Jesus saves, and that's what Joshua. And

  31. we'll read it now from ten to eighteen. Then Joshua,

  32. and I'll ascuse me, I'll annunciate stronger the words that

  33. I'm going to preach on. Then Joshua commanded the officers

  34. of the people pass through the camp. Command the people,

  35. prepare provisions for yourself for within three days.

  36. Three days how many days was Jesus in the grave

  37. before it was resurrected. Three days.

  38. Everything is a type in shadow, he says, in three

  39. days you will cross over this Jordan to go into

  40. and possess the land which the Lord your God.

  41. Is giving you to possess.

  42. And to the Rubenites, the Gadites and have the tribe

  43. of Manassa.

  44. Remember those three names.

  45. Joshua spoke, saying, remember the word which Moses, the servant

  46. of the Lord, commanded you, saying, the Lord your God

  47. has given you rest and is giving.

  48. You this land.

  49. Your wives and your little ones and your livestocks shall

  50. remain in the land which the Moses gave you on

  51. this side of Jordan.

  52. He's rehearsing something.

  53. That took place previously under Moses's leadership. He's reminding these

  54. three tribes. But you shall pass before your brethren the

  55. rest of the tribes. Now, all your mighty men, say men.

  56. He didn't send the women. He set the men to lead.

  57. Men of valor, men of might. Men are supposed to

  58. lead their families into the promises of God. Men are

  59. the protectors. Men are the true preservers and examples and models.

  60. Before your brethren, all the mighty men of valor, not

  61. the sissies.

  62. Sissys.

  63. Stay home, men of valor, and help them help your brothers. Now,

  64. until the Lord has given your brother's rest, you can't

  65. forget the people that don't have rest just because you

  66. have rest. I could see that went over real great.

  67. As he gave you and they also have taken possession

  68. of the land which the Lord God is giving them.

  69. Then you shall return to the land of your possession

  70. and enjoy it.

  71. That's the place where the land that Moses gave you.

  72. Because of the vastness of your cattle, he was able

  73. to give you that land. Then he says, you'll go

  74. back to it which Moses servant, the Lord gave you

  75. on the side of the Jordan toward the sunrise. So

  76. they answered Joshua, saying, all that you command us, we

  77. will do wherever you send us. We will go just

  78. as we heed in Moses and all things so.

  79. We will heed you.

  80. Only the Lord, your God be with you as he

  81. was with Moses. Who sever rebels against your commandments and

  82. does not heed your words in all that you have

  83. commanded him, shall be put to death. And it's going

  84. to end here. Only be strong and of good courage.

  85. I forgot to have you stand. You guys should have

  86. stood automatically. Shame on you, Shame on you. Let's talk

  87. a little bit about what we just read.

  88. I just simply want to talk about.

  89. That day or the day that they entered into the

  90. Promised Land, the day that they crossed.

  91. Over forty years of waiting. It was the.

  92. I don't know if you've ever circled I know we

  93. don't do it anymore, but symbolically circled a date on

  94. the calendar that represented an especial day for you.

  95. Maybe it was a wedding day.

  96. On this day we are going to get married, or

  97. maybe it was a vacation day or retirement day, or

  98. for many couples, it's the day that they're gonna get

  99. delivered a baby kind of thing. Our friend Lester and Kirstening,

  100. great members of this church, just adopted nearly ten years

  101. of marriage and never having children and waiting two years

  102. for the adoption. It just took place a couple weeks

  103. ago and Abigail came into them.

  104. A great event.

  105. It was that day after ten years of waiting or

  106. two years of searching. What an excitement for them, as

  107. it was for the children of Israel. That day the

  108. waiting was over, the delays were over, and the denials

  109. were over, and it had finally come and had finally arrived.

  110. And that's a hope for you that the promises that

  111. God has for you are going to come to pass,

  112. and there's going to come a day when you are

  113. going to see the manifestations of those promises, whether it's

  114. your children saved, whatever it is your body healed, or

  115. whether it is just being set free and delivered.

  116. That day will come.

  117. And you need to be anticipating it and you need

  118. to be excited about it. The first point I want

  119. to talk about is what we highlighted. Didn't know that

  120. the second song in our collection today on worship would

  121. be about strong and strength and the joy of the Lord.

  122. But the thought is this, that day is the day

  123. that you are to be strong and courageous. There's a

  124. day in your life that either is today or tomorrow,

  125. and on that day, you're gonna need to be strong

  126. and you're.

  127. Gonna need to be courageous.

  128. That is a certain mentality that you need to have,

  129. a certain mindset that you need to have. Why Because

  130. there was a previous type of people, a generation that

  131. didn't have that mindset. They refused to be strong and courageous.

  132. They were individuals that struggled with their faith. They were

  133. a stubborn generation. They were a murmuring, gossiping, complaining generation.

  134. They were an entitlement generation. They were a very worldly

  135. and cardinal generation. But This generation is a different generation.

  136. This Christian you I'm talking about have a different mentality,

  137. and you want to possess the promises of God. You

  138. want to see the best that God has for you.

  139. I'm preaching better than your amn me, but I'll keep

  140. going on that day be strong and courageous. What day

  141. am I talking about? Let me bring application to you,

  142. because the Bible tells me in Ephesians six ' ten

  143. be strong in the Lord and the power of his mind.

  144. Not necessarily in your intellect, not necessarily in your looks,

  145. not necessarily in your possessions. Be strong in the Lord,

  146. because those things come sometimes can't allow you to rebound

  147. from the devastations of life.

  148. Ask all the victims of the fire.

  149. It's the strength in the Lord that's going to allow

  150. them to recover when they've suffered so many losses in

  151. their lives. But the reality is this, That day is

  152. the day that you experience death, loss and grief. That's

  153. the day God says you're to be strong. It's the

  154. day that Moses died and they're grieving and He comes

  155. to them. On that day that you've experienced death, is

  156. the day that I command you to be strong. And

  157. I will give you strength for the losses that.

  158. Are in your life. On that day when you are

  159. going somewhere you've never been.

  160. Before, you're crossing over, you're going into a new place

  161. you've never been before.

  162. And you're nervous and you're timid and you're shy.

  163. On that day, be strong in the Lord and in

  164. the power of His might.

  165. On that day when.

  166. You are willing to put the pass behind.

  167. You and let it go to move forward.

  168. On that day when you can't seem to let go

  169. of the grip, when you don't know how to let

  170. go of the grip, when it's unfamiliar to you. This

  171. thing has been such part of your life, your personality,

  172. you don't know how you'll make it. On that day,

  173. be strong in the Lord and the powers might. The

  174. day you will be asked to lead something that you

  175. have never led before, is the cry of Joshua. Joshua's

  176. was never in the driver's seat ever. He was never

  177. the leader. But now God is calling on him, like

  178. he's calling on you on your jobs and in your

  179. home and in your family. It's time to lead and

  180. step up. That's the day when I need to be

  181. strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.

  182. You're strong in the Lord and the power of His

  183. might on that day when you go into waiting Molde

  184. and believing mode and faith mode for something that awaits you.

  185. It's the only way for you to be strong in

  186. the Lord, when you go into waiting mode, when you're

  187. just I'm just gonna stand. I'm just gonna trust God

  188. for my husband to be saved. I'm just gonna wait

  189. on the Lord. But I can't do it on my

  190. own because they're acting crazy. She's acting crazy. He acting crazy.

  191. The boss is acting crazy. But you know what, I'm

  192. strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

  193. And I had one more. It's not in your notes

  194. but or the thoughts of my sermon and lesson today.

  195. It's this is the fact that my joy is not

  196. hooked up to people, things and circumstances, but in Jesus

  197. on that day, on that day, I can't I can't

  198. allow my joy to be put into you. I can't

  199. allow my joy to be put in stuff and things

  200. in circumstances. My joy has absolutely got to be in Jesus.

  201. That's the only way for me to be strong in

  202. the Lord and his power of his might. So the

  203. Bible talks about how to be strong. He's one thing

  204. to say, be strong in these dire situations, in these

  205. transitions of our lives. But the Bible is very clear

  206. how to be strong because he says I Am with you.

  207. I know that guy sounds so cliche to say that,

  208. eman you well, God with you, when the names of

  209. God is Jehovah shama, which means the Lord is there,

  210. The Lord is with you, the Lord is here. And

  211. we can sing about it and say it's so cliche

  212. that God is with you, but we've got to really

  213. believe that in the most difficult, hard times with us,

  214. that God is with us. And if I know that

  215. God is with me, then I can be strong no

  216. matter what season I'm in or no matter what I'm

  217. going through. But if I let the devil question and

  218. lie to me that there is no God, or that

  219. God has forsaken you, in abandon you and left you,

  220. then I'm going to be overwhelmed by the circumstances. But

  221. God is ever present, and I challenge you today, he

  222. is even more present when you're going through your most

  223. difficult I know what I'm preaching about.

  224. I know what I'm saying today.

  225. God has a grace for you that's reserved for your

  226. most difficult time.

  227. And you'll never get that grace.

  228. And you have an element of grace, but you'll never

  229. see that unmeasurable grace, that outpoint of grace, that overflowing grace,

  230. until it's reserved. It's reserved for those moments of hardships.

  231. She got to know how to be strong and the

  232. Lord is to know that God is with me. When

  233. I was a little boy, I don't know how old

  234. I was, maybe twelve thirteen around that age.

  235. I haven't told this story in a long time.

  236. I had a friend of mine. He was the big

  237. kid on the street and his name was Kenny. His

  238. name was Kenny, and you know, Kenny by far was

  239. like a head and shoulder taller than all of us.

  240. He was like this little kid that you know, you know,

  241. looked like he had a man.

  242. Body, looked like he was already.

  243. Had peach fuzz and had defined muscles. How maybe know

  244. where we're all blabby? How many of you know our

  245. chest and our stomachs are just one.

  246. There are no six pack, just one pack.

  247. He's that little kid that already you know can can

  248. lift one hundred pounds over his head. You know, he's

  249. that kind of kid, you know, just very very intimidated looking.

  250. Well, he was my friend.

  251. And across the way was a guy that was picking

  252. on me at school.

  253. He was a bully.

  254. And this guy said, you know what I'm gonna when

  255. I get home, I'm gonna knock your block off. I'm

  256. gonna i'm gonna beat you up, and i'm gonna jack

  257. you up.

  258. And you know what, I used to belong to a gang.

  259. I don't know. That's what he said.

  260. And I'm gonna knife you and i'm gonna you know,

  261. I'm gonna slice you up, I'm gonna jack you and

  262. so so I just said, hey, Kenny, this kid he

  263. wants to mess me up, but I really am afraid

  264. of him, like he might be telling the truth.

  265. Will you go with me? And Kenny said, I'll go

  266. with you.

  267. And it's amazing how much strength and courage I had

  268. when I had Kinny with me. I said, Kenny, I'm

  269. gonna go up that door, and true story, Kenny, I'm

  270. going up to that door and I'm gonna knock.

  271. I just need you to.

  272. Be in the in the in the eyesight behind me,

  273. so that when he sees me, he'll see you behind me.

  274. And so so that was a plan. So I knock

  275. on the door and I said.

  276. Hey, yeah, I'm calling you out right now. I'm calling

  277. you out right now. He wouldn't come out of the house.

  278. He wouldn't come out of the house, not because of me,

  279. but because Kenny was my backup. Kenny got my back,

  280. and Jesus saying, I got your back.

  281. I'm with you.

  282. I know it's scary sometimes and I know the bully

  283. is looking down your face, and I know the devil

  284. has lined you, but.

  285. Just know I am with you.

  286. The second thing to give us strength is he tells

  287. you just obey my word. Live in my word, read

  288. my word, study my word, live your life around my word,

  289. build your life around my word. And if you do that,

  290. that's going to give you unmeasurable strength.

  291. It's going to give you power.

  292. And ability and capability in all aspects of your life.

  293. And so you'll have strength again when you know the

  294. word of God. It is our daily prescription and intake

  295. that we need. It's our prescribed intake. You know, they

  296. say you need two thousand calories a day. How many

  297. scriptures do you need? Do you think to maintain your

  298. nutritional strength one snack a week? I don't know. I

  299. think it's more than that. You and I have to

  300. have our own self feeding program. You can't depend up

  301. on the preacher to say, okay, open your mouth on a.

  302. Spoonfeeding now, chi chi chi chitchu.

  303. Okay, I'll see you next week, three weeks from now,

  304. three months from now.

  305. Now, you got to.

  306. Feed every day. That's where your strength is going to

  307. come from. It's self renewal of the transfers of the

  308. mind Romans twelve one and two, one of the best verses.

  309. In the entire Bible.

  310. I beseech you there, for brethren, by the mercies of God,

  311. that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, wholy and

  312. acceptable on to God.

  313. Which is your reasonable service.

  314. And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed

  315. by the renewing of your mind. Get this in here

  316. so it can change your outlook or perspective and how

  317. you think.

  318. That's how you're going to gain strength in your life.

  319. And it's your self workout program to develop the muscles

  320. that are in your life and my life. It's not

  321. the size of your muscles that give you strength. It's

  322. the size of your heart that gives you strength. Here's

  323. the second thing, he says. The second word is this

  324. word preparation. That day of preparation, when I am ready

  325. to occupy and possess, layhold, and take hold, the day

  326. of preparation, when I walk in my God given authority,

  327. on that day of preparation, when I am ready to

  328. break the boundaries and limitations and restrictions, because they will

  329. break the boundaries in their lives now, And that's what

  330. preparation will begin to do. It will allow you to

  331. break some boundaries that are in your life, some restrictions

  332. in your life, and some hindrances in your life. When

  333. you're prepared, When you're prepared financially, you'll break boundaries. When

  334. you're prepared, skill wise and knowledge, you'll break boundaries. When

  335. you're prepared maturity, in your faith and in your spirit,

  336. you'll break boundaries in your life.

  337. So you have to prepare. You're not going to be

  338. able to cross over to get somewhere you've never been.

  339. Before, to leave something behind unless you prepare. You got

  340. to prepare. The Bible says this in Proverbs twenty one.

  341. The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but

  342. deliverances of the Lord. You got to prepare that horse

  343. for battle. He's got to be taught. He's got to

  344. be trained. And then I love this. I know this

  345. is Pastor Kinney one of his favorite verses. But don't begin,

  346. excuse me, don't begin until you count the costs. Don't

  347. start anything, don't commit to anything until you've counted the cost.

  348. For who would begin construction of a building without first

  349. calculating the cost to see if there's enough.

  350. Money to finish it.

  351. How many of you know you not go down the

  352. car dealer and buy a car if you don't know

  353. how much you can afford. You're not going to look

  354. at a new house and walk through it. If you

  355. don't know how much you could afford on a monthly payment.

  356. You can't go over there and engage somebody if you

  357. don't know if I could afford them.

  358. Well, finally you woke up. You can't engage a person

  359. I don't know if I could afford.

  360. You, your high rant, your high maintenance. We don't do

  361. Gucci in my house. Maybe coach, but not Gucci. People

  362. don't count the cost.

  363. Nothing wrong with.

  364. Marrying people with five kids already, but count.

  365. The cost getting too personal.

  366. Hat The Bible goes on and it says, don't begin

  367. until acount the cost. For who would begin construction of

  368. building without first calculating the cost to see if there's

  369. enough to finish it? Otherwise you might complete only the

  370. foundation before running out of money, and then everyone would.

  371. Laugh at you.

  372. They would say that there's that person who started that

  373. building and couldn't afford.

  374. To finish it.

  375. Or what king would go to war against another king

  376. without sitting down with the counselors to us whether his

  377. army of ten thousand could to beat twenty thousand soldiers

  378. marching again. That's what I had to do when I

  379. went against that bully.

  380. I can't do it. I got kidding. I could do this.

  381. I'll go ahead and count the car I could do this.

  382. It's preparedness. There's a great parable in the Bible of

  383. the ten Virgins. Five missed out because they didn't prepare.

  384. God loved them. They might have been good Christians.

  385. But they were not prepared, and so they went through

  386. something they didn't have to go through, where the other

  387. five went through with Jesus and experienced some level of

  388. victory or reward or whatever you might want to look at,

  389. all because of preparation from their oil that they had

  390. in their life.

  391. Let me give you some cheos.

  392. They're going to be on the screen today because preparation

  393. is the key. Today's preparation is the answer for tomorrow's problems. Okay,

  394. are you prepared to retire?

  395. You're prepared to get sick, Not that you won't, we're

  396. gonna believe you won't. But are you prepared? You're prepared

  397. to get out of debt? You prepared? You're prepared to

  398. buy a home, buy a car. You prepared.

  399. You're prepared to live a long life. It's more than

  400. a confession, it's a lifestyle. Have you prepared?

  401. How are you eating? Look at somebody said, I think

  402. he's talking to you now.

  403. I know you're eating good now because you're on the

  404. twenty one day fast, but some of you are counting

  405. the days till.

  406. The fast over.

  407. You've already figured out your first meal. I know you

  408. have be careful because it's going to come out of

  409. you real quickly.

  410. Take it easy now.

  411. Maybe start off with some nice soup and something soft.

  412. You eat like an old person, right, away. If now

  413. you're going to waste.

  414. All that money and it's going to be in the

  415. toilet bowl, and what are we going to do with it?

  416. What am I talking about? I don't know what I'm

  417. talking about.

  418. Today's preparation is the answer to tomorrow's problems. I me

  419. even know that we had some power outage. Yeah that

  420. was unfortunate, But you know what, I went in, got

  421. my gas put in my generators, like the fourth of

  422. July in my house. Sorry, you probably saw my house

  423. from wherever you live. I'm not trying to boast. I

  424. just had a generator because I didn't have a generator before.

  425. And I was over there bumping my toe in the

  426. middle of the darkness. My flashlights were dead. I didn't

  427. have batteries. Who am I that dog on devil? I

  428. rebuked the devil for still in my batteries. No, you've

  429. had two years to put batteries in that flashlight.

  430. Preparedness what blackout? Seeing steak.

  431. Fish? Listen to music TV.

  432. Let's watch that next movie, right, kick another one in?

  433. Were gonna beinge what I'm trying to make you mad?

  434. Come on, let's go on. If you're not over prepared,

  435. then you're underprepared. It's better to be prepared than to repair.

  436. Preparing is a habit and discipline before you play. And

  437. if you're not, and if you're always caught off guard

  438. and everything is a surprise to you, you're not prepared.

  439. Here's what I'm trying to tell you today. Here's some things,

  440. you know what. I just made mention of a few

  441. things to prepare for, but I'll leave them as that

  442. physical spiritual. So I'm preparing my marriage for difficult times.

  443. Preparing your children to be godly children. How do you

  444. prepare children to be godly children? It's a preparation involved.

  445. How do you prepare to have a godly marriage and

  446. stay married for the next fifty years of your life.

  447. That's a preparation that takes place. But you and I

  448. need to be preparing our character. We need to be

  449. preparing our heart. We need to be preparing our knowledge,

  450. our skills. Preparation looks like hard work. That's all you prepare,

  451. work hard, you know, all you prepare, finish your project,

  452. and all you prepare keep your vows. Those are words

  453. say no to temptation. That's a preparation for you and

  454. I to have. I'm amazed by the aunt because the

  455. aunt is always preparing for something. He's always prepared. I've

  456. never seen a homeless aunt. I've never seen a starving ant.

  457. Right now, it's cold, he's chilling right now. Some of

  458. your barbecue from the summer, some ribs from Lucile's. He's

  459. eating that rib that you thought you left out for

  460. the next day as a left Oh no, he stole

  461. that in the middle.

  462. Of the night.

  463. He's prepared. He's prepared. How many of you've ever seen

  464. a Swiss army knife. A swift army knife has thirty

  465. three functions in it. It's always prepared. It's prepared to

  466. help wherever it needs to be helped. And that's how

  467. we need to be in life, like a Swiss army knife.

  468. You know, I have a lot of fruit trees, whatever tree,

  469. whatever fruit grows.

  470. In this zone, it's in my backyard.

  471. The problem with some of these, like the peaches, the plums, nectarines,

  472. they kind of all get riped around the same time,

  473. Like there's like two three week window, and my trees

  474. are I can't eat that many peaches and plums, and

  475. so then the birds get them or they fall on

  476. the ground.

  477. Kind of thing this year.

  478. I can them, I save them. I was preparing guess

  479. what I had to not some peaches, don't get jealous.

  480. I had plums tonight. I had figs tonight. They're not

  481. in season, but in my home they're in season because

  482. of preparation. And you and I can avoid so many

  483. things if we, if we, if we use the.

  484. Discipline of preparedness.

  485. Because life has its troubles, life has its adversities.

  486. And so let me let me give.

  487. You a couple of quotes right now, and I'm gonna

  488. wine this message up. Let me give you a couple quotes.

  489. Willie George said, rising too. The case is a myth.

  490. We operate at a level of preparation. You're able to

  491. conquer that because you were prepared to conquer it, your prayer, life,

  492. your skill, your competency, your wisdom, your character. There's another quote,

  493. and this quote says this, do all you can in

  494. the natural, pray in the spiritual, and it will become

  495. a supernatural outcome. Christians, Please do this, Please do this.

  496. I've seen both extremes. I see, well, I'm just gonna pray.

  497. I'm just gonna pray. No, just you're gonna pray and

  498. you're gonna do something, Well, I'm just gonna do things

  499. in the natural and I'm not gonna pray. Well, then

  500. you it might work, and it may not work. Do

  501. everything you can in the natural, everything you can in

  502. the natural. Don't be lazy, don't procrastinate, don't be neglectful.

  503. Do everything you can in the natural. Then pray and

  504. believe God and the spiritual to bless it and to

  505. do what you can't do, and it will always become

  506. a supernatural al This property would not be here if

  507. we just gave it to prayer.

  508. Oh, Lord, show us the property. Lord, manifest the property. God,

  509. give it to us.

  510. God, we won't do the echas of Landlord, Lord Jesus,

  511. give us some I had a real estate team. Now

  512. go find me the land. Go search for the land.

  513. Go out and see what the land is going for.

  514. Go out and price everything. Go out, and we did

  515. everything in the natural. We prayed in the spiritual, and

  516. it turned out to be supernatural results. That's the way you.

  517. Do it, absolutely the way that you do it.

  518. One more quick point and then we'll bring the conclusion.

  519. Remember remember.

  520. Remember Rubenites, Gadites, and half the tribe of Manassa.

  521. I'm gonna read you this statement.

  522. I think it's going to be on the screen. The Rubenites,

  523. the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manassa must remember

  524. God's goodness and generosity and grace. Is that all I'm

  525. gonna get? I think that's all I'm gonna get, So

  526. I'll read the rest to you. Ruben Gadites and Manassa

  527. must remember God's goodness, grace and generosity he has given

  528. to you. Now you're being called upon to give it

  529. to someone else. Because the first word he said, remember

  530. you've forgotten how good God's been to you, haven't you

  531. because you don't want to extend that goodness to nobody else.

  532. He's saying, Brothers, remember when you didn't have Moses blessed you.

  533. You asked for land for your cattle.

  534. He said, I'm gonna give you land, But there's coming

  535. a day when we're going to cross over the Jordan,

  536. and I need you to raise up your strong, mighty

  537. men of valor to go help your brothers so that

  538. they can get some land too. Don't you forget you

  539. got a debt that you've got to pay. Now there

  540. ain't no renegotiation. Oh, we made that deal with Moses. No,

  541. you made it before God. And thank God for joshuas

  542. that hold us accountable to the vows and to the

  543. promises of God that are not insecure but representing God

  544. and said, wait a minute, you made a promise. Here,

  545. ain't no reniging on your promise. It's time for you

  546. to pay your debt, Manassa. No matter how good times

  547. are right now, Goadites and Rubenites, don't forget your brothers

  548. that don't have rest. Rest when you have rest and

  549. in conclusion, only by moving forward, will you see what

  550. God sees? I meane, will you? Will you see what

  551. God wants you to see. You will have what God

  552. wants you to have. You'll be what God wants you

  553. to be. You'll do what God wants you to do,

  554. and you'll go wherever God wants you to go. Please

  555. understand that's God's definition of success and prosperity. Okay, I'll

  556. say it again. If I was to asked you today,

  557. give me a definition of success, be a thousand explanations definition.

  558. But let me give you God's definition of success and

  559. prosperity found in Joshua one and eight.

  560. He talks about it there. Success. The definition of success and.

  561. Prosperity is for you to do what God told you

  562. to do. Be what God told you to be, have

  563. what God told told you to have, go where God

  564. told you to go. That's success. Success is not measured.

  565. By what you have or what you have and me in.

  566. Comparison to that, I'm a success because I did what

  567. God told me to do. I'm a sex success because

  568. I became what God wanted me to become. I'm a

  569. success because I have what God told me to have.

  570. Now I'm a success. You define success.

  571. Father.

  572. I thank you for the message today. I pray it

  573. resonates in the heart of all of us today. Oh God,

  574. we want to be that Joshua generation God, and it's

  575. time for us to cross over somewhere. God, what are

  576. we preparing for? What am I prepared? What am I

  577. prepared for? What am I not prepared for?

  578. God?

  579. We just asked you, God, to help us to be strong,

  580. help us in our preparation, and help us to always

  581. remember our brothers and sisters, Oh God, in the goodness

  582. and kindness and generosity that you have bestowed upon us.

  583. Sometimes will be called upon to help them in Jesus' name. Amen,

  584. can we give the Lord a clap offer in today?

  585. Thank you, thanks for.

  586. Coming to church today, Thank you for working through the

  587. Book of Joshua. By the way, you guys do look good.

  588. How many of you have lost a few pounds in

  589. this fast?

  590. Good?

  591. How many of you have gained weight in the fast?

  592. There's a trick quite one pan back there, But God,

  593. I wonder what kind of fast you're on. Anyways, here's

  594. what I know. You and I are one German when virus,

  595. when accident and mishap away from Heaven's gate and Hell's doors.

  596. This church averages anywhere between one to three funerals a week.

  597. We have so many funerals that we are one of

  598. the few churches that has a full time funeral director.

  599. Full time, that's all they do, and Tracy does a

  600. masterful job at doing it. But that just tells you

  601. how many funerals we have. And let me be honest

  602. with you, they're not for ninety year old people. I'm

  603. not trying to bring fear. I want you to live

  604. another one hundred years. But they're people my age and

  605. they're people your age. I wish we could prepare to die.

  606. Sometimes you can in some molm and fat. But when

  607. you're being rear ended and driven off of a freeway,

  608. no time to prepare.

  609. What do you do?

  610. When you do it something that you've done a thousand times,

  611. but something is going to break and sever an artery?

  612. What do you do? So the reality is this, you need.

  613. To be prepared now for the day that you die

  614. fifty or one hundred years from now. Because I made

  615. my eternal reservation in heaven. You can't just show up

  616. to heaven and say I'm here, the man here, the

  617. kids here, let me in, just gonna.

  618. Say who are you? The only you know?

  619. They say you have a special code or name or

  620. what am I trying to say? Entrance thing that you say,

  621. they're no open sesame.

  622. It's just Jesus. That's it. That's the entry thing. The

  623. magic word to get you in.

  624. Is your name written in the Lamb's Book of life reservation. Today,

  625. if you were to die somewhere take your last breath

  626. between eleven o'clock tonight and five o'clock six o'clock tomorrow,

  627. you need to.

  628. Make sure that you're prepared.

  629. And when you stand before the throne room of God,

  630. you don't say.

  631. Oops, what is this? Who are you?

  632. It's all familiar to you. That's my Lord and Savior.

  633. I've accepted him and now I'm going to be ushered

  634. into glory. That's preparedness today. Will you give your life

  635. to Jesus Christ today? And maybe you're a Christian, but

  636. you're not serving the Lord as you should, and you

  637. want to rededicate.

  638. Your life to Lord.

  639. Or you love God, but you're born of a spirit,

  640. but you're not filled with the spirit, with the evidence

  641. of speaking in tongues, and you want everything that God

  642. has for you. If those one hundred and twenty that

  643. started the church were already born again but God filled

  644. with the Holy Spirit and needed him, why not you

  645. and why not me?

  646. When I count to.

  647. Three, I'm gonna invite you to raise your hand like this,

  648. and we're gonna pray for you. Be the best decision

  649. you've ever made. You're not raising your hand for Diego,

  650. You're raising it for Jesus.

  651. For the Bible says if you.

  652. Acknowledge Him, he will acknowledge you. But if you're ashamed

  653. of Him, he will be ashamed of you. I've been

  654. saved all my life, and I was unashamed to be

  655. a sinner. I just gave you a little episode.

  656. What I did with Kinney, but we could go a

  657. lot further.

  658. I was unashamed. Now, some people come to Christ and

  659. then they're ashamed of it and embarrassed of it. Think

  660. about the fool you used.

  661. To be when you ran the streets.

  662. Why don't you be a f fool for Christ, unashamed

  663. of being saved and born again and forgiven and on

  664. your way to heaven. And you don't give a rip

  665. who sees you today? One two, one two three. Raise

  666. your hand wherever you are in this place. If you're

  667. raising your hand, do one thing. Stand on your feet.

  668. Wherever you are, just stand up. If you have the

  669. courage to raise your hand, have the courage to stand.

  670. On your feet.

  671. I want you just to say a simple prayer with me,

  672. Look to heaven and mean it from your heart. Say,

  673. Dear Jesus, in front of all these people, I ask

  674. you to be my Lord and Savior. I'm unashamed to

  675. ask you to come and live in my heart. Forgive

  676. me of my sins, help me to be filled with

  677. the Holy Spirit, to make an impact in my family

  678. and in my friendships.

  679. In Jesus' name Amen,
