  1. On our pastoral staff so grateful. Well, hey, listen, they

  2. don't let your crazy Puerto Rican family member here. But hey,

  3. my name is Pastor Fuego and it's an honor and

  4. the privilege. I have the privilege of being the campus

  5. Pastor Alameda, alongside my gorgeous wife Tiffany, and we're so

  6. grateful to be here. Hey, so, wont you look at

  7. your neighbor right now and tell them, hey, come on,

  8. that was kind of weak. Look at another neighbors say

  9. nigh but you're blessed and tell them why cause you're

  10. sitting next to all this. Come on, let's say the

  11. devil the Lord said it was good.

  12. When he made me. That's why.

  13. What Hey, if you're visiting for the first time, I

  14. love telling people you could belong before you believe you

  15. could belong before you behave, You can even come as

  16. you are.

  17. But you best believe our God.

  18. He loves you and I way too much not to

  19. keep us.

  20. The way we are. Amen.

  21. I believe this that Christianity is not about perfection, It's

  22. about progression. You don't have to be the best today,

  23. but you do need to get better today. Won't you

  24. touch about two three neighbors to say, get better, get better,

  25. get better, that's right, especially if you're married, Hold that

  26. knee and be like, that's why you're here.

  27. Get better. You gotta get better. See, I don't know

  28. if you.

  29. Know the difference between a believer and a disciple. Listen,

  30. we want to make sure that you understand a believer.

  31. That's just the starting line, right, But even demons believe

  32. in they tremble. I fear at the name of the

  33. Lord Jesus. But I want to let you know that

  34. us here at Patriot, we believe that this is a

  35. home for the hungry, and we want to make disciples.

  36. That's right. A disciple means that we are devoted to developing.

  37. We really are. And so what I love to tell

  38. people is this. You see, if you're not sweating in

  39. your preparation, then you're gonna bleed in battle.

  40. And what is the battle? I'm glad that you asked.

  41. The battle is life. That's what it is. You see,

  42. because in this room right now, there's three types of people.

  43. There are those who are.

  44. Headed towards a storm, those who are in a storm,

  45. and those who.

  46. Are coming out of a storm.

  47. And I want to let you know Just because you

  48. came out of the storm doesn't mean that you didn't

  49. get anything taken from you. Because the enemy, he loves

  50. to steal kid and destroy it. And maybe he stole

  51. your hope, Maybe he stole some of your faith, maybe

  52. he stole some of your joy.

  53. Because the time to build a house is not when

  54. the storm is coming.

  55. We don't run the home depot then, No, we want

  56. to build a house now.

  57. We want to make sure that we are building.

  58. Our house on a solid ground, so we want to

  59. be paid. We want to be prepared ahead of time,

  60. so we're ready.

  61. When it's time. You know what I mean. So listen.

  62. I know some of y'all looking at me twisted like.

  63. This brother does. Said his name is fuego. What does

  64. that even mean? Well, listen if you don't speak, Fantash says.

  65. Okay, listen, neither do I Right. But maybe you watch

  66. Dorothy's Flora, Maybe.

  67. You eight talkies, right, maybe you watch Louder or Telemundo.

  68. I don't know, but listen, Fuego means fire. Is fantas

  69. everybody a fire?

  70. Yeah?

  71. And it don't mean I think I'm behind a handsome dude.

  72. Even though my wife she tell me all the time,

  73. y'all through solid. But it does come from Jeremiah twenty

  74. or nine. If I said I would never mention God

  75. or speaking his name, his word burns like a fire.

  76. A fuego shut up in my bones. I'm growing, We're

  77. trying to hold it in. I can't do it. I

  78. gotta tell people about Jesus and what he is doing

  79. it through my life. Now, I gotta ask just to

  80. show in hands man, where my nosy people at. Go

  81. ahead and raise your hand. Come on, come on, yeah,

  82. there we go. Let's shame the devil because we're ready.

  83. Know who the real nosy people are are the ones

  84. who had.

  85. Their hand down looking around, y'all, the real nosy ones.

  86. You feel me, you really are.

  87. But listen, I gotta burst your bubble because being nosy

  88. is not a spiritual gift.

  89. It's not.

  90. I know you're like man passafuago. That was the only

  91. one I got. No, that's not a spiritual gift. But

  92. we are going to redeem it. Everybody say redeem it.

  93. And the way that we redeem it is you know,

  94. when your nosy, you lean.

  95. In like this, ooh ooh what they say? Right? Well,

  96. what I want you to do.

  97. Is lean in, because I believe that whatever you tune into,

  98. you turn into. And I believe that for us, we

  99. want to tune in to the word of God, so

  100. that you and I will turn into many women of God,

  101. men of valor, women of virtue.

  102. Amen.

  103. So, as we're getting started, won't we do this, won't

  104. we put.

  105. Our hands over our heart like this?

  106. And I don't know if you notice this, Why is

  107. your heart on your left Because.

  108. It just ain't right. It just ain't right.

  109. So now I want you to know that it's not

  110. my job to get your heart right.

  111. It really ain't. It really isn't.

  112. According to Mark Chaptain, numb before that's the parable of

  113. the sower who is farmer, who.

  114. Is throwing seed on ground.

  115. And one of it was a footpath, another one was

  116. thorns and thistles, another one was underlying rock, and another

  117. one was good soil that beared fruit right that was

  118. thirty sixty, even one hundred times more than.

  119. What was planted. And so it's up to you to

  120. try to do a proper.

  121. Assessment of your heart and say, I got a roller

  122. till in my heart so I'll be able to receive

  123. the word of God today tonight.

  124. You know what I mean. That's the way we gotta be.

  125. Because the seed is potent, The seed is the Gospel,

  126. the seed is the Word of God. And when it

  127. is planted on good ground, everybody say good ground. When

  128. it's planted on good ground, that's when we'll be able

  129. to bear a lot of fruit. Now, now my assignment

  130. today is gonna be Joshua chaptain them before verses ten

  131. to twenty four. Verses ten to twenty four. Now I

  132. felt like Pastor Gabriel. He did a phenomenal job. He

  133. was unpacking Chapter number four, verses one to nine. He

  134. talked about God using signs. He said that you and

  135. I are signs. Amen to that, that you and I

  136. are signs that would point to the glory and goodness

  137. of God and what He has done in it through

  138. our lives.

  139. And I believe that wholeheartedly.

  140. I love how even my brother, my bodiqu my brother,

  141. was so beautifully articulated, how kiasms, the chiasms they show

  142. in the beginning of a passage, in the end of

  143. the passage, when you read them towards each other, they

  144. mirror each other. So focus you on the middle, so

  145. that you can focus on what the author wants you

  146. to focus on, which is Christ, Jesus, It's God and

  147. God all alone. Now I like this because we see

  148. that these chiasms are all out throughout the Bible. Now,

  149. if you like reading the Bible, which I hope that

  150. you do, now we have the Old Testament. The Old

  151. Testament has five books. The first five books of the

  152. Bible are known as the Torah. The Torah these first

  153. five books. In the middle of the Torah is Leviticus.

  154. Now that is a kiasm with those five books, Leviticus.

  155. In the middle of Leviticus is Leviticus sixteen. Leviticus sixteen

  156. talks about atonement, and it talks about the atoning for

  157. our sin. Isn't that amazing? That's why we see Jesus

  158. in John chapter number five. He sees these religious leaders

  159. gathering around him, and Jesus says, you know what, religious leaders,

  160. let me tell you this.

  161. You read the.

  162. Scriptures because you think the scriptures give.

  163. You eternal life. But the scriptures they point to me

  164. I am the sign.

  165. So now that's not my assignment tonight, but but I

  166. felt like that was just beautiful. I want to talk

  167. about Joshua and Joshua. Now, Joshua, if you're here for

  168. the first time, haven't been tracking with us, please look

  169. at the Joshua series that we're in and you'll be blessed.

  170. But Joshua is the successor to Moses. He's the successor

  171. to Moses. And now as Joshua is the successor of Moses,

  172. Joshua is getting ready to do a really big thing, y'all.

  173. A fulfillment of a pro But it wasn't a fulfillment

  174. that was a promise that was just given to Moses.

  175. It was actually given to Abram. It was given to Abram.

  176. In Genesis chapter twelve, we see that Abram is given

  177. some marching orders. Everybody say marching orders. He was given

  178. some marching orders for him to go to a land

  179. that God would show him. He said, as numerous as

  180. the stars are in the sky, so you'll descend it

  181. shall be. And he starts on his little He starts

  182. on his journey towards where God is gonna show him.

  183. Now, Abram, it was always.

  184. God's intention to take a family and make this family

  185. a nation that would have a land. Why because this

  186. land would be an example to other nations. So now

  187. we don't see at all that Moses he didn't get

  188. into land. But what's happening now Joshua is about to

  189. bring us into the land. And Joshua is bringing So

  190. this is a big fulfillment that is happening.

  191. So I just don't want us to overlook it.

  192. Because this is beautiful on how tactful God is and

  193. fulfilling his promise. Hopefully that will bring you some hope

  194. to evening. Now, if you have your Bibles, please take

  195. it out to Joshua chapter number four.

  196. We're gonna start at verse ten.

  197. And if you don't mind, do you mind standing so

  198. that we could read the word of God. Now, if

  199. you heard a neighbor complain about their feet hurting, can

  200. you tell them you chose to wear them shoes. Now,

  201. this is how we're reads. For the priests bearing the

  202. ark stood in the midst of the Jordan until everything

  203. was finished, that the Lord had commanded Joshua.

  204. To tell the people.

  205. According to all Moses had commanded Joshua the people, they

  206. passed over in haste. And when all the people had

  207. finished passing over the ark of the Lord and the

  208. priests passed over before the people, the sons of Reuben,

  209. and the sons of God, and the half tribe of Manessa.

  210. They passed over the armed before the people of Israel,

  211. as Moses had told them about forty thousand ready for war,

  212. passed over before the.

  213. Lord for battle, to the plains of Jericho.

  214. On that day, the Lord exalted Joshua in the sight

  215. of all of Israel, and they stood in awe of him,

  216. just as had they had stood in awe of Moses

  217. on the day of his all the days of his life.

  218. The Lord said to Joshua, command the priest bearing the

  219. ark of the testimony to come up out of the Jordan.

  220. So Joshua commanded the priest come up out of the Jordans. Listen,

  221. I feel like that was somebody who robbed me back

  222. in the day. They said, come about those Jordans. I'm sorry.

  223. Let's stick to the text. Passor listeny, Father, let's stick

  224. to the text.

  225. Here we go.

  226. So Joshua commanded the priest come up out of the Jordan.

  227. And when the priest bearing the ark of the Covenant

  228. of the Lord came up from the midst of the Jordan,

  229. and the souls of the priest's feet were lifted up

  230. on dry ground. The waters of the Jordan returned to

  231. their place and overflowed all its banks as before the people.

  232. They came up out of the Jordan on the tenth

  233. day of the first month, and they encamped at Guilgal

  234. on the east border of Jericho. And those twelve stones

  235. which they took out of the Jordan. Joshua set up at.

  236. Gilgal, and he said.

  237. To the people of Israel, when your children ask their

  238. fathers in times to come, what do these stones mean,

  239. then you shall let your children know. Israel passed over

  240. this Jordan on dry ground. For the Lord your God

  241. dried up the waters of the Jordan for you until

  242. you passed over, as the Lord your God did to

  243. the Red Sea or the sea of reeds, which he

  244. dried up for us until we passed over.

  245. So that all the peoples of.

  246. The earth may know that the hand of the Lord

  247. is mighty, and that you may fear the Lord your

  248. God forever. Let us pray, Spirit of the Living of God,

  249. have your way, hide the preacher behind the cross in

  250. Jesus' name, Amen, as a being seated to tell your neighbor,

  251. are you ready?

  252. Are you ready? Now? Now?

  253. I really just want us to take a look at

  254. this scripture, and I'm hoping to articulate it in a

  255. way that it will present itself like a pop up book.

  256. Now I see that the children of Israel they are

  257. at the Jordan, and a is that they're at the Jordan.

  258. I started to think about this when I first started

  259. reading the Bible, that if they're at the Jordan, why

  260. do you have to party?

  261. Lord?

  262. Why couldn't if they just backed up and then ran

  263. and said Jordan, they jumped over and they made it

  264. to the other side, that would have been cooper. Then

  265. I started thinking, oh, you know what, they didn't have.

  266. No air Jordan's.

  267. They had the air Jerusalums, they didn't have no Jordan's.

  268. They had the Chankla two thousands on. They couldn't make it.

  269. They couldn't make it. And so they're standing there. See

  270. that Joshua and them are getting ready to get into

  271. the water. The priests that are carrying the Ark of

  272. the Covenant, what do they do? And they walk into

  273. the water and the water starts parting, and I want

  274. as it starts parting, I'm picturing that the children of

  275. Israel are back and they're waiting like Joshua, Joshua, hey,

  276. could we go could.

  277. We go in there?

  278. Like he says yes, and they start going in haste.

  279. They start moving in haste.

  280. Oh, they start going in haste. Listen, y'all, and the

  281. children of Israel as they are going across the men

  282. who are holding they're just holding the ark of the Covenant.

  283. And I'm thinking as they're passing, these men of God

  284. were first to go in, and they're also gonna be

  285. the last ones to come out.

  286. They're gonna be the last ones to come out.

  287. Could you imagine these priests that are holding the ark

  288. of the company. They're standing in the middle, and they're

  289. standing in the middle of what was and what is

  290. about to be.

  291. And not only are they standing in the middle.

  292. Of what was what's about to be, they're also holding

  293. signs like my brother was talking about last week, signs

  294. of what God had did in.

  295. The past, Signs of God bringing manner.

  296. And bringing provision, Signs that God had given them through

  297. the that we see the Ten Commandments and we see the.

  298. Rod of erin.

  299. So they're holding it and they know in the middle

  300. that's where God.

  301. Is with them.

  302. And so people are passing them. People are just passing

  303. them by, and they're staying there, and I started to

  304. think about this scripture. I was like, man, Lord, they're

  305. staying there. They're staying there, and they're they're really just

  306. obeying some orders that they were given. See, because Joshua

  307. gets his orders from Moses, and Moses got his orders

  308. from the Lord and he passes it down.

  309. To Joshua, and Joshua just obeys the orders.

  310. Now Moses is dead, he didn't have to.

  311. Obey them no more.

  312. He could have just been like, hey, you know what,

  313. he's dead, brot, let's think.

  314. Of a different one. Let's let's hudle up. Let's think

  315. of a new idea. But he didn't.

  316. And he gives them some orders, and they're there in

  317. the middle and they're ten toes down believing and knowing

  318. and remembering the things that God had done before and

  319. what God is getting ready to do. So the people

  320. are walking by, and I started to think about this

  321. because they were really they were really ten toes down

  322. on being God's word. They were okay with authority, kind

  323. of like what we see with the centurion when he says,

  324. Jesus come to my house.

  325. And heal my servant. Jesus says, all right, let's go.

  326. He's like, no, don't come to my house. Matter of fact,

  327. just send word from where you are.

  328. Because I am a man under authority and I'm Muscle

  329. a man in authority. He knew how there was power

  330. in authority. He knew it, and I saw it. As

  331. I was thinking about this, I was like, man, thinking

  332. about how we as people have authority issues.

  333. We have authority issues. We got authority is.

  334. Now I'm full blooded Puerto Rican originally from New York,

  335. born in Manhattan, raised in the Bronx. Now, I remember

  336. when I was about five years old, right, I got

  337. crazy with my mama. Now let me give you some

  338. context though. Now, Puerto Ricans, there's three things that were

  339. solidified that you apported recon and now, first you have

  340. to cook with sofrito. The second is you must drink

  341. Bustello coffee. And the third is that you have to

  342. this is without you. Oh, this is a non negotiable.

  343. You have to have attitude problem. You gotta have attitude problem.

  344. And so me, at five years old, I was practicing that,

  345. and I remember my mom she was telling me something

  346. and I was like, Mom, you don't know nothing.

  347. You're stupid.

  348. You see see that some of y'all don't even speak

  349. fantis And I heard ain your smell, and that's what happened.

  350. That's what my mom, That's what happened. And all I

  351. know is I woke up ten days later and don't

  352. we see that that's what happened. That's what I believe

  353. happened with Jesus. Jesus was twelve years old in the

  354. temple and he was lost on the parents are looking

  355. for him, and he's like, did you know why be

  356. in my father's house? And what happened? We didn't see

  357. him ever again until he was thirty till he's thirty

  358. years old.

  359. Come on, right, sis, you better read your bible. Mary

  360. became Madia, Mary became Audia.

  361. But authority issues, you know. I always crack up because

  362. my sons there. When he was young, we would go

  363. to the park and we were walking around and it

  364. we'll see a kid. He'll be cussing out his mom

  365. at four to five, and listen, I just got a

  366. problem with that. I'm looking at this kid like and

  367. the mom said, come here, Timmy, you're gonna be on

  368. time out, Timmy. I loved the laughter because the only

  369. time my mama ever got was when she needed to

  370. rest her arm because she was already getting me.

  371. And she's like, hold.

  372. On, time out, halftime, halftime. But we see the authority.

  373. Now.

  374. I know we're fun and games with that authority, But

  375. what about us when we.

  376. Are on our day to day? Are you that type

  377. of Christian.

  378. To Actually, you go to work and you got all

  379. the Christian paraphernalia, you come up bumping worship music, and

  380. when you come up bumping, you steal thirty minutes late

  381. and the boss, and the boss is like, come on,

  382. you be like.

  383. Man, God is good. Man. He's like, how is God good?

  384. You ain't never your time? You ain't never here time?

  385. And yet you're there at the job.

  386. You're supposed to be bringing the gospel, but you're bringing

  387. the gossip.

  388. You talking about the boss. You're like, hold on, hold

  389. on the boss.

  390. No he didn't, And you're saying all these things about

  391. the boss. But can I just ask, Can I just

  392. tell you something? The way you treat people who are

  393. in authority is the way you will be treated when

  394. you're in authority. Married couples out there, listen, men, I

  395. gotta just speak to us.

  396. One thanks, one thanks.

  397. I sounded like Tony Montano right there, just one time,

  398. just gotta speak to us.

  399. I gotta help us.

  400. Because we often say, man, we want our wives to submit,

  401. But I'm asking you, look, our.

  402. Wives are a mirror image of us. Do you submit?

  403. Do you get words.

  404. From your pastor do you even submit to your pastor?

  405. What is sub submission? Sub to the mission? That means

  406. you were under the mission. But are you submitting when

  407. you speaking with the pastor having the counselor it says,

  408. are you actually taking his advice and being able to

  409. apply it to your life? Because information with our application

  410. will not bring transformation. You need it all in your life.

  411. You need all of it in your life. You can't

  412. just take what we want. We take little bits and

  413. pieces of what we want. Let me give you the Bible,

  414. because y'all getting a little cross sided, like, hold on

  415. where the Bible at? Well, here goes the Bible right here?

  416. Romans thirteen one. Y'all got your Bible? Romans thirteen one.

  417. Romans thirteen one. Look what it says. Everyone must submit

  418. to the governing authorities, for all authority comes from who

  419. thank you and those in position of authority have been

  420. placed there by who. So anyone who rebels against authority

  421. is rebelling against what God has instituted. So what is

  422. that saying? Pasa fuego. I'm so glad that you asked.

  423. You know what it's saying. It's saying, you can't even

  424. spell authority without the author.

  425. He is the author of it. He's the one that

  426. established it. And see that'sh I love how the men

  427. of God they're standing in the middle holding the ark

  428. of the covenant given orders and they're like, yo, we're

  429. not leaving here until we get some new orders.

  430. But many of us here tonight we already know.

  431. That God has given us a word for us to stay.

  432. Ten toes down and saying I'm gonna stay committed to this.

  433. But we only committed for one way, for one week,

  434. one month, a couple of days.

  435. And God is like, and then you want another word? No, no, no,

  436. no no, God is like, hold on, See, I haven't

  437. given you another word.

  438. Because I want you to stay being a faithful father

  439. to your children. I want you to stay being a

  440. faithful husband.

  441. I want you to stay being a learner of my

  442. word so.

  443. That it will be so embedded in you, so ingrained

  444. in you that it becomes a part of your.

  445. Nature, a part of your character.

  446. See, because you can teach what you know, but you

  447. reproduce who you are, the type of fruit that you're

  448. seeing in your house.

  449. You are the product of that.

  450. So to make sure that that is what we're doing,

  451. we got to make sure we are saying, Lord, I

  452. trust your word and I submit.

  453. To it, but pass the I really don't be feeling

  454. like it though.

  455. Uh let me tell you this, stick to the plan,

  456. not your mood.

  457. Stick to the plan, not your mood.

  458. You know, we gotta have this mindset to follow God.

  459. If you're taking notes, write this down, you need to

  460. have your mind set to follow God. Your mind has

  461. to be set to follow God. That means you have

  462. to have your mind made up. If I was to

  463. name this sermon tonight, I would name it don't do

  464. Heaven's work without Heaven's resources.

  465. That means that when you walk into situations, you know

  466. who you with, You know who's with you. You See,

  467. this is.

  468. The way Joshua's mentality was. He was like, I know

  469. who is with me? Joshua when he he had a

  470. mentor named Moses, and Moses was a man that in

  471. Exodus chapter.

  472. Thirty three, Verse fifteen.

  473. Moses is speaking to God and he says, God, I'm

  474. not going unless you come with us. He's saying, I'm

  475. not going personally. If you don't personally come with us,

  476. I'm not going to leave this place. I'm not going

  477. to leave. And this is what Joshua is listening to. Remember,

  478. Joshua was the man who was at war in Exodus seventeen.

  479. Where we see Moses.

  480. He has his hands lifted up towards heaven and he's

  481. read and they're winning the battle.

  482. He's getting tired, erin and her.

  483. They pull up alongside of them, start lifting his hands,

  484. give them a place where he can sit. And as

  485. he has his hands lifted, Joshua is witnessing this. We're

  486. winning the battle. When we have the presence of God,

  487. we witness He's witnessing this. And God often shows us

  488. a physical thing to reveal a spiritual thing. In that moment,

  489. we're seeing that we are better together, and we're also

  490. seeing that we will win when we partner with God.

  491. God is showing us these two things. He's revealing it

  492. to us. He's revealing it to us. But I gotta

  493. ask you this question. How about you? How about you?

  494. When your partner read with God? Do you believe that

  495. your partnering with God? Do you really believe it? Do

  496. you believe that when you walk in through these doors

  497. you're becoming everything that God.

  498. Says you have become?

  499. Do you believe the promises and the faithfulness of God

  500. and what he has done? Do you believe that when

  501. your prayers are being heard, that your prayers are being heard,

  502. and that they're not falling on deaf ears? You said,

  503. because I believe that I'm a product of God's grace.

  504. I'm a product of having a mother who had a

  505. pagan son running the streets, robbing people, jumping into how

  506. the houses and doing people dirty, and did not believe

  507. in God. And yet she prayed for me from a sanctuary,

  508. and prayers grabbed my heart and brought me into the

  509. house of God, brought me.

  510. Into the House of God. But do you.

  511. Believe that that when you have hands lifted and you're

  512. speaking in your heavenly language and you don't know what

  513. you're saying, that prayers are going to grab children, save

  514. a gun from going through somebody's head, A bullet from

  515. going through somebody's head.

  516. Do you believe it that your prayers.

  517. Are actually impacting the heart of a man who wants

  518. to walk away from his family, but yet he's gonna

  519. be brought back to home, Brock.

  520. To this house. Do you believe it? See?

  521. Because we have these we have these yes and amen moments.

  522. But I'm telling you you'll only know what you believe

  523. in in the seasons that you go through. I'm telling

  524. you I've had these job type of moments where I

  525. get hit from the north, southeast, and the west of

  526. my life and I had to stay ten toes down

  527. like I'm holding the ark of the coveny and I'm saying, Lord,

  528. I remember what you did then, and you're still gonna

  529. be faithful. Now, You're still gonna be faithful. You still

  530. will be faithful. You're still gonna be faithful. No matter what, Lord,

  531. You're still gonna be faithful. We gotta have a better mindset.

  532. Our mindset has to be stayed on God. Our mindset

  533. has to believe that our prayers are being heard. That

  534. anytime I walk into the room, Lord, you're with me,

  535. you go before me, you're behind me. You're living on

  536. the in side of me. Greater is he that's in me,

  537. the heat that is in this world?

  538. Do we believe that church?

  539. Do we really want to walk these things out? Do

  540. we want to be living epistles amongst men and women?

  541. Do we really believe that there's a dying generation that

  542. is out there? Because Joshua he believed it. He was like, Lord,

  543. ask for me and my house. We gonna serve the Lord.

  544. We rocking with you. Lord, were staying with you no

  545. matter what. Now, if you're taking notes, write this one down.

  546. A bad mindset is like a flat tire. You ain't

  547. going nowhere until you change it. It is up to

  548. you to be able to change the way that you

  549. see these things. Now, I'm Joshua. Chapter four, verse twenty.

  550. That's how it reads. It was there at Gilgal that

  551. Joshua he piled up twelve stones taken from the Jordan River.

  552. Then Joshua said to the Israelites.

  553. In the future, your children will ask what do these

  554. stones mean? Then you will tell them this is where

  555. the Israelites crossed the Jordan on dry ground.

  556. I got this question for you. If someone was to

  557. ask what do these stones mean? In your life?

  558. Then you would tell them what what would you tell them?

  559. I'm gonna leave that blank's face for you. What would

  560. you tell them? Would you tell them that God is good?

  561. Would you tell them that He's faithful? Would you be

  562. able to walk them through your life?

  563. Because I talked about those seasons that we have in

  564. our life, and.

  565. You know, it's a difference between seasons and cycles. You know,

  566. seasons they have a beginning and an end.

  567. Cycles can be never ending.

  568. You know, seasons they change with time, but cycles only

  569. change when you do. That's the only time that cycles

  570. will change. We're constantly, oh, we're going to church when

  571. things are bad, but we out of church.

  572. When things is good.

  573. That's a cycle. That's not a season, that's a cycle.

  574. We want to make sure or that we are being

  575. steadfast and rooted in God. No matter what comes our way.

  576. We want to be rooted in God. We will bend

  577. but not break. Do you know that the tallest trees

  578. they endure the harshest winds. So if you are standing

  579. tall for God, you best believe that there's gonna be

  580. some wind coming your way. But you will not be uprooted.

  581. You will not be uprooted. You will not be uprooted.

  582. If you're right taking notes, write this down. When we

  583. honor God, his presence is known, and we can tell

  584. of the goodness of God. We could tell of the

  585. goodness of God man. When I think about the authority,

  586. when I think about these seasons, the seasons and cycles

  587. that we go through, it just brings to my attention

  588. the story.

  589. It's a true story of this woman.

  590. Who worked at the high school that her son attended.

  591. And she was working at this high school that her

  592. son attended, and he was a senior, and she was

  593. off that day, and he comes running down the stairs

  594. and he goes and he dashes out the door.

  595. He's like, all right, mom, and he leaves.

  596. His mom comes down and sees that he's left his

  597. lunch that she made him right there on top.

  598. Of the table.

  599. And so she's like, oh, oh, my baby left his lunch.

  600. So I'll take it to him at his lunch after

  601. I run my errands. She takes this lunch, she runs

  602. her errands, she pulls up at the school, walks inside

  603. of the cafeteria. When she walks in the cafeteria, everybody is.

  604. Laughing at her.

  605. Oh wow, oh this is your mom. They're making fun

  606. of her. Oh, I forgot to tell you that this

  607. woman she only has one eye, and they're laughing at.

  608. Her throwing food the kid.

  609. Her son was so embarrassed he puts his head down

  610. and dashes outside of the cafeteria, leaving his mother there

  611. by herself. She goes home and she's sitting on the couch.

  612. She's quietly waiting for her son to come home, anticipating

  613. that door knobed.

  614. To jiggle, and she gets up when she sees.

  615. Him coming in, and she says, son, I'm so sorry

  616. if I didn't mean to embarrass you, and he says

  617. some harsh words to her. Get away from me, Mom,

  618. I can't believe you did that. You embarrass me. I

  619. never want to talk to you again. He says, I

  620. can't wait till I get out of high school because

  621. I'm gonna move far away for college. And you know

  622. what happened. He made a vowel in his heart. He

  623. made a vowel in his heart. And you know what

  624. he did exactly that he graduates from high school, goes

  625. to college, moves far away.

  626. Not only is he living far away.

  627. He actually graduates from college, gets his degree, gets Mary

  628. has children and moves further away and never is contacting

  629. his mother. And years have passed, she has grandbabies as

  630. she's never seen, and yet this is a time where

  631. she's looking in the mirror. She's like, you know what,

  632. he must have gotten over this. Now, must have gotten

  633. over this. Now I gotta go see my son. I

  634. gotta go see my grandbaby. She puts on a nice dress,

  635. she gets herself as best as she can, and she

  636. drives nine and a half hours to go see your son,

  637. worshiping and praying and wondering if I should pull over

  638. because I don't know if he's gonna accept me. But

  639. she makes her way there, gets out the car, fixes

  640. her dress, and knocks on the door. As she knocks

  641. on the door, the door opens. It's her grand baby.

  642. But the grand baby looks at her and says, ah,

  643. it's a monster. He closes the door, and then the

  644. grand baby runs to the dad and says, Daddy, does

  645. a monster at the door. He said, wait, wait, wait

  646. a minute, there's a monster at the door.

  647. Wait a minute, Wait a minute. So the monster at

  648. the door, he.

  649. Opens the door and he sees his mom and he's like, oh, yeah,

  650. you know what you're right, he shuts the door in

  651. her face. The mother she lowers her hand and she

  652. makes her way into the car, crying all the way home.

  653. As she's crying all the way to her at home.

  654. Another year and a half passed and he gets in

  655. the mail a letter from.

  656. His high school because it's their high.

  657. School reunion, and he's like, ooh, surely they got to

  658. see what I've become now. They made fun of me then,

  659. but watch when they see what I have become. Watch

  660. when they see me. So he gets his best dress

  661. up as best as he can, and he drives to

  662. his hometown and he has this thought, Oh, my mom

  663. lives here. I might as well stop by and see

  664. my mom. And so he pulls up and as he

  665. pulls up to the house, he sees a letter on

  666. the door, and he puts it in park and he's like,

  667. is my mom getting a victim?

  668. How comes she didn't tell me? Hold on? He hops

  669. out of his car, and as he's walking.

  670. Closer to the door, he sees that the letter has

  671. his name on it, and so he grabs the letter

  672. and he opens it up, and he opens it up

  673. and he sits down. The letter says, son if you're

  674. reading this letter. I've gone home to see the Lord.

  675. I want to tell you how much I love you.

  676. I wish I would have been able to see you

  677. in person. I wish I would have been able to

  678. hug you and tell you this in person. But I

  679. want to let you know I love you from the

  680. moment you came into this earth. I told the Lord,

  681. I'll do as best as I can to provide for you,

  682. and to do all that I can to comfort you,

  683. and to do all.

  684. That I can to guide you in the word of God.

  685. I felt like I wasn't really given the opportunity, but

  686. this is my opportunity. I didn't want to tell you

  687. like this, but I guess this is the way I

  688. have to tell you, she says, son, when you were born,

  689. you were born with one and I took my eye.

  690. I had the doctor remove mine to give it to

  691. you so that you would not have to go through

  692. any kind of persecution or be made fun of. This

  693. young man get to hug the very person who did the.

  694. Sacrifice for him. He missed it.

  695. But you're in this very room tonight, and some of

  696. y'all came in because you think somebody invited you but

  697. the Bible says no man or woman comes unless drawn

  698. by the spirit of God.

  699. So you're in here.

  700. Because God is bringing you towards Him.

  701. And like that, young man, I don't want you to

  702. miss it.

  703. I don't want you to miss the sacrifice that He's

  704. done for you and I.

  705. He who knew no sin, became sin, so.

  706. That you and I become the righteousness of God. That

  707. though yet we were sinners, Christ, he died for us.

  708. He died for us. He died for us. He died

  709. for us. Thousands have died for our freedom. Bony one

  710. died from our soul. He died for us. Tonight you're here,

  711. I'm gonna let you know. Maybe God is knocking on

  712. the door of your heart. He's knocking on the door

  713. of your heart. Will you open the door and be

  714. able to recognize the sacrifice that He's done for you?

  715. Would you be able to recognize it? I'm gonna tell

  716. you this. I almost didn't. Nineteen years ago was when

  717. I gave my heart to Jesus. But you know what,

  718. I almost missed it. I almost missed it. I could

  719. care less about God. I cursed his name. My mother

  720. and father they honored God They wanted to do their

  721. best to share the gospel with me, but I rejected it.

  722. And one night I was set up to be killed

  723. in Anti, California, gun to my face, and as the

  724. gun is in my face, I was cursing the God

  725. that I did not even believe in trusting, cursing his name.

  726. All I can hear was Proverbs fourteen twelve. There's a

  727. path that looks right to a man, but it leads

  728. to death. And it was that very scripture that my

  729. mom put faithfully on my pillow.

  730. Day and night.

  731. It was the kindness of God that walked in that

  732. night and stopped that man from shooting me and having

  733. a bullet come out the back of my head. It

  734. was the kindness of God, a God that I cursed,

  735. a God that I did not care about, a God

  736. that I did not believe was real, introduced himself to

  737. me that night. I almost even have my chance, but

  738. somebody prayed for me, somebody sent the hound of heaven

  739. to get me. And tonight you're here, and you think

  740. you're here by coincidence. I believe it was Albert Einstein

  741. that said it's coincidences, that God a coincidence, or God

  742. weighs of remaining anonymous. Coincidences are God's way of remaining anonymous.

  743. It's just God bringing you to himself. Now with tears

  744. is flowing down my face. I'm hoping that you would

  745. know that tonight God is knocking on your heart. He's

  746. knocking on the door of your heart. And as he

  747. is knocking on the door of your heart, I prayed

  748. that you would let him in, that you would let

  749. him in.

  750. Some of you, you.

  751. Guys, have been Christians for a long time, and God

  752. is knocking on the door of your heart, and as

  753. you open the door, you actually recognize who he is

  754. and would close the door because you're intimidated about the

  755. purpose that he has for your life, because He hasn't revealed.

  756. The whole plan to you, and you're scared.

  757. The Bible says it is impossible to please God without faith.

  758. It's time today to step out.

  759. Of the boat onto the waves where your faith can grow,

  760. knowing that no matter what comes your way, the waves

  761. that are trying to drown you, our God walks on

  762. that water.

  763. And I'm hoping that today you won't reject.

  764. Or ignore the call that He's bringing you towards the

  765. purpose for your life, that you're not doing it alone,

  766. that you're actually partnering with God. You're no longer gonna

  767. do Heaven's work without Heaven's resources. And if that's you tonight,

  768. you want to surrender your life to Jesus if you

  769. want to, and another who wants to rededicate.

  770. Their life to Jesus saying Lord, I'm giving.

  771. Everything to you tonight. If that's you, I just want

  772. you to put your hand up on the count of three.

  773. Ready, one, two, three, go ahead and put that hand up.

  774. There we go. There we go. Hold those hands up

  775. for me. Family, hold them up.

  776. Yeah, there we go, hold those hands up. This is

  777. a posture of surrender. There's a pasture of surrender before.

  778. We used to do it with police, or I used to.

  779. At least some of y'all are like, oh.

  780. I know, But this is a posture of surrender to

  781. allow him to search your life.

  782. Now, what we're.

  783. Gonna do is, I'm gonna say a prayer if everybody

  784. as a family will be able to repeat it after me.

  785. Would you do so.

  786. It? Would you repeat after me? Lord Jesus, I believe

  787. you're the son of God. I believe you died on

  788. the cross, and on the third day, God the Father

  789. raised you from the grave. I open my heart and

  790. I'll receive you as my Lord is Savior. I asked

  791. that you wash me and cleanse me and make me new.

  792. Holy Spirit, feel me from the top of my head

  793. to the sols of my feet, Guide me and lead

  794. me as I follow you from this day forward in

  795. Jesus' name.

  796. Amen. Amen.

  797. Now, if you said that prayer for the very first time,

  798. would you put your hand up for me? I just

  799. want to recognize. Go ahead, put your hand up. There

  800. we go, There we go.

  801. That's good. Now, Now, if you set that prayer.

  802. For the very first time, we have a resources ww

  803. dot grow dot Faith. We'd love for you to take

  804. this resource with you to be able to apply it

  805. to your life. It's really important that you take these

  806. next steps if you have not been water baptized, and

  807. I want to challenge you to be able to take

  808. that step towards a baptism pool and getting baptized. You know,

  809. it's like going public. You're going public with your faith.

  810. When I got married, I was like, yo, I want

  811. everybody to come and see my wedding because I'm staying

  812. committed to this one, and that's what really we're doing,

  813. openly inviting friends and family to come and see you

  814. dedicate your life to Jesus.

  815. If maybe some have been here for a while.

  816. Being baptized and you want to go step into growth track,

  817. man I encourage you to do so because the harvest

  818. is plentiful, but the laborer is a few. So let's

  819. leak arms together and let's build the Kingdom of God.

  820. If you do need prayer afterwards, we'll have a team

  821. right here ready for you to pray for any of

  822. you and your needs.

  823. God bless you, Thank you, family,
