-
All right, all right, Patriot Rancho, how are we feeling
-
feeling good? It's good to be in church. If we
-
haven't met, my name is Aaron. I'm one of the
-
pastors here on staff and honor to be entrusted to
-
be a part of the Joshua series. And if you're
-
brand new or we have these journals in the book.
-
Matter of fact, I was praying for a specific group
-
of people now by run of applause, who came to
-
some of our weekend experiences for Easter.
-
Okay, now do me your favor.
-
If it was your first time coming to Patriot on
-
Easter weekend and you came this Wednesday, could you raise
-
your hand your first Wow? Wow, look at you, Look
-
at God Church. That is amazing. Thank you for being here.
-
I have a gift for five of you.
-
So if you want, I have some Joshua journy knows
-
for you.
-
The first five people that come up here. The first
-
time you came was Easter, but you came on Wednesday night.
-
Let's give her a round of applause. Here's your Joshua journal. Okay, okay, one, two, three, four, five, six, Okay,
-
I'm gonna give you one. After service I know you personally,
-
I'll give you one after service.
-
Here you go, here you go, here, you go, absolutely here,
-
take your pen, Take your pen.
-
Thank you so much, Thank you so much for being
-
a part of our church. Somebody remind me I have
-
one more to give away.
-
Why do I do that? Because reading the.
-
Bible changed my life, it'll change your life. WILL give
-
you one right after service, so we're gonna have seven.
-
So we got two more to give.
-
So reading the Bible can change your life. And what
-
I want to encourage us all to do is lean
-
in tonight because tonight can be transformational. Now, if you're
-
newer to the series, we've been in every single week
-
we've been going through Joshua, we're already in Joshua six.
-
Can you believe that? Now?
-
If I could reduce this sermon to one phrase, I
-
would say, the Lord will give you a word to
-
walk out for warfare. The Lord will give you a
-
word to walk out for warfare. And what I want
-
to do is just show you we're gonna be in
-
fourteen verses tonight. But on the front end, I'm just
-
gonna show you how we're gonna put it in chunks.
-
Because part of the reason why we're in this series
-
is because not only are we learning from the sermons,
-
we're actually learning how to have our own devotionals as well.
-
And I like putting the Bible into little chunks, and
-
verses one through five will be word, versus six through
-
nine will be walk, Verses ten through fourteen will be warfare.
-
And that's how we're gonna do it tonight. And what
-
I want to encourage you is lean in. I believe
-
tonight can be transformational. Let's all stand to our feet.
-
We're gonna read Joshua six one through five, and then
-
we're gonna jump right in. I'll be reading from ESV. Now,
-
Jericho was shut up inside and outside because of the
-
people of Israel. None went out and none came in.
-
And the Lord said to Joshua, see everybody, say see,
-
I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king
-
and its mighty men of valor.
-
Now I want us to do something together.
-
Every time we see the word shall, I'm not gonna
-
say it, We'll say it as a community.
-
Okay.
-
Verse three, you march around the city, and the men
-
of war going around.
-
The city once. Thus gotta stay on the rhythms, stay
-
on the rhythm.
-
Thus you do for six days, seven priests bear seven
-
trumpets of rams horns.
-
Before the ark.
-
On the seventh day, you march around the city seven times,
-
and the priests blow the trumpets. And when they make
-
a long blast with the rams horn, when you hear
-
the sound of the trumpet, then all the people shout
-
with a great shout, and the wall of the city
-
will fall down flat, and the people go up, everyone
-
straight before him. Heavenly Father, thank you for your word.
-
Thank you that you spoke to Joshua, and you're speaking
-
to us as a community, but you're also speaking to
-
us individually.
-
God, get me out of the way.
-
I thank you that tonight it'll feel like I'm having
-
one on ones with people. Holy Spirit, connect your word
-
to people's situations right now. But use your word to
-
elevate us above our situations.
-
Give us your power, your clarity. In Jesus name, we
-
pray a man you may be seated.
-
The reason why I wanted to do that is be
-
because I pay attention to when words are repeated in
-
the Bible. Now, notice here it says he said to Joshua,
-
and the first thing he said to Joshua was see
-
and that gives a pattern on how the Lord communicates
-
with us. The way that the Lord communicates with us
-
is he first gives us a vision for victory. So
-
he said to Joshua, see, I want you to see.
-
I want you to picture yourself as a winner. I
-
want you to picture yourself that is already defeated, You
-
already won. So the way that God communicates is I
-
want you to see that you already have it. But
-
the sea is connected to the shalls. Now, how many
-
seas were there?
-
One? How many shalls? Seven?
-
Seven means completion in the world of God. So here's
-
what God does. I'm gonna inspire you by showing you
-
some thing. I want you to see something, and that's gonna.
-
Give you inspiration.
-
But I have these seven shows that are instructions. So
-
in order for us to digest the word of God,
-
we got to have inspiration and instruction. We can't just
-
live a life of inspiration. But it's great that God
-
started with that vision, but he gives detailed instruction on.
-
How he's going to win.
-
I have a chart on the screen just to drive
-
this more clearly. If you look here, if you look
-
at the inspiration, one phrase but it's seven instructions.
-
In order on how.
-
Joshua is gonna see that victory come to pass.
-
You guys got that picture in your mind?
-
One see seven shows. And there's so many times in
-
my life or I just want to live in inspiration.
-
I just want God to show me something new. But
-
God is like, I want you to show something now.
-
And what if the next new thing that God has
-
for you is connected to the last thing God.
-
Told you to do.
-
Yes, You're gonna see it if you shall it. So
-
there's so many times in my life. God, I want
-
to see a good marriage. One need to focus on.
-
I shall go on date nights. I shall forgive, I
-
shall stop bringing up the past. I shall speak life
-
over my spouse. I want to see my kids healed.
-
I shall be healed. I shall go to counseling. I
-
shall model example ship.
-
I want to see no debt.
-
Shall budget, I shall tithe, I shall be generous. So
-
it's one thing to see it, it's another thing to
-
shout it. And what God is trying to show us
-
here is that I want to show us something, but
-
I want to be in partnership with you. So when
-
it happens that God gets the glory. I think today,
-
if you look on social media, we just want to
-
see something.
-
What's the enspo?
-
And a lot of times when I look on social
-
media and church, sometimes it's like a lot about deliverance. Well,
-
this person got delivered last Sunday, he gets delivered this Sunday,
-
got delivered next Sunday.
-
And it's like wait, wait, wait wait, could.
-
It be that we just want to see something? Now?
-
I believe in deliverance, but deliverance prepares us for discipleship,
-
and once we're discipled, those habits that we have in
-
place could prevent us from needing to be delivered.
-
Again.
-
Want to see something, but I don't want to show something.
-
I give you an example.
-
I love playing Legos with my daughters, and when we
-
get Legos, there should be a picture on the screen
-
that just shows what it will be. If you open
-
this up, this is what you will see. Now, was
-
this inside of the Lego box? So somebody said no,
-
but well it is. But you got to follow some instructions.
-
And there's been so many times in my life where
-
I pray for wanting to see something in Jesus' name
-
a man, and my expectation is I pull it out
-
and say, God, you're good because I prayed for it.
-
God said, I shall see and I don't have to
-
do any work for it to come to pass. And
-
now everybody looking at me, look at me go because
-
I see.
-
It and I have it.
-
Now.
-
Is this how life works?
-
But sometimes in our prayer life we wish it would
-
because he said it in his words, So why doesn't
-
it look like this? Now here's what it really looks
-
like when you first pull it out.
-
The first thing is.
-
Like, wait, these bags items and I've got this instructions.
-
Now now I'm bored. Now I'm overwhelmed because I just
-
want to see this.
-
But God gets his glory when I'm patient enough to
-
look at his instructions long enough to look at pieces
-
of my life. And as those pieces come together, it'll
-
build something beautiful. God timing God's terms. That's why it's
-
insequential order. If you look at these pieces, notice that
-
they're in order. But sometimes in life I be trying
-
to skip steps. Sometimes in life, you know what I'm
-
gonna be.
-
I'm gonna be real with you. I don't like looking
-
at instructions. Tell me if you do this, well, okay,
-
I want.
-
This body, and then I just go to YouTube and
-
I try to see somebody else putting it together. I
-
did that with a Rubik's cue, But what ends up happening?
-
Sometimes we do that in the spiritual too. I don't
-
need to look in the Bible. I just need to
-
look at somebody else's faith and patter my calling based
-
upon their calling. The problem with that is comparison.
-
So we see somebody with their.
-
Ferrari and it's like, I want to have a Ferrari
-
right now, But we don't know the work and the
-
role that it took for that person to get what
-
they have.
-
And we need to be content.
-
We're our own calling that God has for us as
-
we look at the instructions that God has for us.
-
Breaking it down further, Joshua would know this all the
-
way from Joshua chapter one because he had a leader, Moses.
-
And if we look at verses six through eight, look
-
what it says here, be strong and courageous, for you
-
are the one who will lead these people to possess
-
the land.
-
That's inspiration.
-
You're gonna be a great leader and you're gonna have
-
land that I swear the ancestors will give them, Be
-
strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the
-
instructions Moses gave you, don't deviate from them, turning either
-
to the right or to the left. Then you will
-
be successful in everything you do. Study this book of
-
instruction continually.
-
You will come back to that word.
-
Meditate on it day and night, so you will be
-
sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will
-
you prosper and succeed in all you do. And the
-
way that God communicates is in patterns. Hey, I want
-
you to see something. You're gonna be a great leader.
-
You're gonna have land, but you gotta follow the instructions
-
of the Lord and your leader.
-
And see, now, I lost some of us because some
-
of us are okay, you know I'll follow the Lord.
-
I ain't following my leader.
-
If we look at the scripture, follow the instructions Moses.
-
The convicted felon.
-
If you don't know Moses' story, you can look at
-
Exodus two through four. How it starts. He had a
-
rough patch. He ended up being a great leader. And
-
God will test our humility if we're following instructions.
-
Of the Lord and our leader.
-
You don't know if You're submitted to your leader until
-
there's disagreement.
-
And what Joshua needs to learn right now is.
-
I'm gonna have you give commands to an army, but
-
the fruit of that is how you followed Moses. And
-
some people I can't get my team to listen to me.
-
How do you honor your leader?
-
Because the way that you honor your leader will be
-
the way that you will be entrusted with honor. But
-
some of you may be thinking, well, I'm not Joshua.
-
I'm not a leader yet. I just started coming to church.
-
So what do we do if we don't hear a
-
word from the Lord yet? Well, that's why I love
-
Joshua being in sequential order. For the last few weeks
-
we were in Joshua five. You could go to our YouTube.
-
You'll see a sermon from Pastor Sammy and Pastor Diego.
-
But the way that I saw this when I read
-
Joshua five, it was about self care, and Joshua six
-
is about warfare. And God will always have us take
-
care of ourself to prepare us for warfare, because if
-
we don't know self care before warfare, we'll go back
-
to the previous habits that we had. So if we don't,
-
how do I get to a place in my life
-
where I could be like Joshua and get a word
-
from the Lord and get inspiration. Well, I have a
-
recap of Joshua five on the screens.
-
The first thing we.
-
Gotta do is we got to kill our flesh.
-
Notice this in Joshua five chapter two.
-
What ends up happening is they crossed the Jordan, and
-
now Jericho was nervous, and then the Lord says, hey,
-
make some knives, and then the warriors probably that cool.
-
We gonna make some knives to take out our enemies. No,
-
make knives to kill your flesh.
-
Circumcision word. I thought, I'm gonna take out my enemy.
-
You can't take out your enemy until.
-
You know how to die of your own flesh. And
-
I wonder what things in our life that we have
-
to die too prior to hearing the word of the Lord.
-
The second thing, change your diet.
-
I'm with you. I promise something with too.
-
Man They used to manna, then frosted flakes, and now
-
when they move forward, now they got to eat from
-
the produce of the land, the fruit of the land.
-
I wonder what appetites that we have that we pay
-
attention to that prevent us from hearing the word of
-
the Lord. And what God is saying, self care is important.
-
Let's kill our flesh, Let's change our diet, and let's
-
serve the Lord verse thirteen through fifteen. After he changed
-
his diet, after he was circumcised, the Lord appears and
-
he gets down in worships, and he says, Lord, your
-
servant is here creating an environment for the Lord to speak.
-
So if we want a word from the Lord.
-
Those might be areas that we could check up in
-
our own life, because the Lord will give us a word,
-
so we can walk. Point number two is walk. Let's
-
look at verse six through nine. Us was the son
-
of None called the priests and said to them, take
-
up the ark of the Covenant, and let seven priests
-
bear seven trumpets of the ramshorns before the ark of
-
the Lord.
-
And he said to the people, go.
-
Forward, march around the city, and let the arm men
-
pass on before the ark of the Lord. And just
-
as Joshua had commanded the people, the seventh priests bearing
-
the seven trumpets of ramshorns before the Lord went forward,
-
blowing the trumpets with the ark of the covenant of
-
the Lord following them. The armed men were walking before
-
the priests who were blowing the trumpets, and the rear
-
guard was walking after the dark while the trumpets blew continually.
-
Let's talk about this for a moment.
-
The word is for us to walk. Now, what does
-
walk mean? Walk means follow Jesus. Follow Jesus means being obedient.
-
But here's the reality.
-
Obedience to God many times is foolishness to man. The
-
Christian life is about unlearning. So it's like, God, I
-
trust you that you've forgiven me for my sins, but
-
I still got the same homies, the same group text,
-
the same music playlist, the same So how do I navigate?
-
How do I walk this thing out? And then when
-
we try to walk this thing out, then.
-
The homies that we have around is why are you
-
doing all that? They don't take all that. Why are
-
you changing your schedule?
-
Because when we start being obedient to God, you'll look
-
like a fool to certain people.
-
There's two things I want to bring to our attention.
-
And verse seven it says go forward, march around the city.
-
Wait which one is it? God? You want me to
-
go forward? Or do you want me to go in circles.
-
Both because sometimes in the natural you may feel like
-
you're going in circles, but in the spiritual you're still
-
moving forward. See, there's times in my life where I
-
need to pray, I need to fast, I need to
-
change my attitude, I need to change certain things, and
-
I still don't see nothing change in the natural. So
-
it's like I tried that, I tried praying, I tried fasting,
-
and I didn't move forward.
-
You know what that was.
-
I wasn't consulting the Lord on his timing. I was
-
staying on my timing. And there's certain times in our
-
life where in the Kingdom of God we're actually moving forward,
-
but because we can't see results yet, we feel like
-
we're moving in circles, in circles and circles.
-
But will we be.
-
Disciplined enough and will we be patient enough to do
-
what God has told us to do even when.
-
We don't see the results yet?
-
Second thing, the armed men were walking, can we find
-
something more for them to do? I mean they're armed,
-
they're warriors, they trained for this moment. And what do
-
you do when you're gifted to do something but God's
-
not asking for your gifting. He's asking for your surrender.
-
What are you doing?
-
You're ready for war, but God's just calling you to walk.
-
Let's make this, let's make this very practical.
-
Are you guys all in the Lord's army? Okay?
-
So this role play online. I want you to lock
-
in with me. I'm gonna act like I'm Joshua. Okay,
-
I'm a commander. I'm tough. So when I give you
-
guys a command, you guys say yes sir. You guys ready, Yeah, Online,
-
you're gonna type yes sir. All right, I'm gonna lock
-
in men and women of God. You guys ready for war.
-
You've done your drills, you have your weapons, bandanas, all right.
-
We've been working hard. I've heard from God.
-
I want everybody get your guns, your knives, bandanas, grenades,
-
put them on.
-
But before we go to Jericho, let's stop at the mall.
-
And when everybody gets some walking shoes. You can get Adidas, Hookahs,
-
New Balance. Just no sketchers. Over a multi generational. If
-
you got sketchers, your grandfathered in.
-
But you're gonna take all your army gear and we're
-
just gonna walk in circles.
-
Are you with me?
-
Are you with me?
-
Let's walk? Now? What are you thinking in this moment?
-
What in the world is he talking about?
-
We done these jumping Jackson push ups. I got grenades
-
in my pocket.
-
I'm not a walker, I'm a warrior. Why isn't God
-
using me how I'm supposed to be used? And sometimes
-
God is calling us to walk something out and it
-
makes no sense to us. But could it be that
-
that's practice in discipline for our next assignment. What if
-
it ain't even about all your military training. What if
-
it was about the discipline necessary to hear God for warfare.
-
But if you picture all the stuff that we practice
-
in private, and we get these moments to showcase who
-
we are, and all God calls us to do is walk,
-
will you walk with joy?
-
Thank you?
-
You know. Ephesians chapter six talks about this because this
-
doesn't just apply to Joshua.
-
This applies to us if you look at it.
-
Ephesians chapter six, verse ten through thirteen, it says, finally,
-
be strong in the Lord and in the strength of
-
his mind. Put on the whole armor of God, that
-
you may be able to stand against the schemes of
-
the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,
-
but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic
-
powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of.
-
Evil in the heavenly places.
-
Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you
-
may be able to withstand in the evil day. And
-
having done all stand, we are to put on the
-
armor of God now so we can flex how strong
-
we are, so we can already stand victorious in who
-
He is. There's a quote here by Tony Evans. It says,
-
victory and spiritual warfare is not about trying harder. It's
-
about standing firm and what Christ has already done. And
-
when we can stand firm and what Christ has already done,
-
we can walk in love. We can walk in freedom,
-
we can walk in forgiveness, we can walk in humility,
-
trusting the one who fights our battle. It doesn't matter
-
how skilled we are, it matters how surrendered we are.
-
So God to give us a word.
-
So we can walk it out for warfare.
-
Here's the moment.
-
We're gonna finish chapter six next week, and we're going
-
to set up the beginning of warfare.
-
Now.
-
Verse ten, Joshua commanded the people you shall not shout
-
or make your voice heard, neither shall any word go
-
out of your mouth until the day that I tell
-
you to shout. It's kind of like when I'm talking
-
to Trinity, my daughter, then you shall shout. So we
-
caused the arc of the Lord to circle the city,
-
going around it once, and they came into the camp
-
and spent night in the camp. Then Joshua rose early
-
in the morning, and the priest took up the ark
-
of the Lord, and the seventh priests, bearing the seven
-
trumpets of ramshorns before the Ark of the Lord walked
-
on and they blew the trumpets continually, and the armed
-
men were walking before them, and the rear guard was
-
walking after the Ark of the Lord while the trumpets
-
blew continually. And the second day they marched around the
-
city once and returned into the camp.
-
So they did for six days.
-
We define what walking is, Walking is following Jesus.
-
Walking is being obedient.
-
So then what's a practical definition of spiritual warfare. Spiritual
-
warfare is continued obedience under attack. You don't start being
-
obedient when you're in warfare. We're following Jesus, and as
-
we're following Jesus, we get under attack. So while we're
-
under attack, we continue to follow Jesus and not go
-
back to old habits.
-
That's warfare.
-
But there's three words that I want to emphasize that
-
we see here that we can learn about warfare.
-
Mouth, camp and continually.
-
And I wrote this down in my journal and I'll
-
share it with you because I have to do this.
-
We need a camp that tells us to shut up
-
our mouth and continue whenever we're in warfare. One of
-
the easiest things to do with complain.
-
That's the warfare shutting our mouth.
-
Because sometimes we're praying, we're fasting, but we're still complaining,
-
we're still gossiping, we're singing worship to the Lord, but
-
cursing out our neighbor. It's the pressure, it's the things
-
that are going on on the inside of us. And God,
-
I'm trying to follow you, but I'm.
-
So angry right now. And sometimes we just gotta be
-
silent and let God fight our battles.
-
So notice how Joshua says, Hey, I've heard from the God.
-
We're gonna walk, and as we walk, don't complain, don't murmur,
-
because it's so tempting when we're following Jesus, and it
-
doesn't make sense. Have you ever been in a meeting
-
with somebody and your leader says something and you get
-
not You're trying to get aye contact with somebody.
-
Like do you hear what he said?
-
You start sitting in the text, but you're like, you're
-
still in the meeting, but you're sitting in the tech.
-
This is stupid.
-
Why are we doing? And see, Joshua knew that God
-
knows that he doesn't want us.
-
To be compliant and complaining.
-
He wants us to follow him with a joyful heart.
-
So one of the hardest things.
-
To do is I'm following Jesus and i'm because I'm
-
not ready to speak yet because if I speak, I'm
-
gonna mess this up. And if I speak, I'm influence
-
others to complain.
-
Hey, did you see? Or we do it like Christians? Man,
-
we gotta pray. Let me tell you what happened. Pray
-
by yourself.
-
But when you in the when you're in the camp,
-
let's not complain. And we need people and in the
-
camp that looks at this, you still complaining about your
-
on the same thing.
-
Did you forgive your spouse or not? Hey, let's talk
-
about what moving forward looks like.
-
Hey, control your mouth, and we gotta have people that
-
love us but aren't impressed by us. We gotta have
-
people in our life that were scared to sit in
-
front of So that way, when we're trying to walk
-
these things out and we get attacked, we don't complain
-
or we don't use our mouth to embellish or say
-
all these things that don't make sense. People that know
-
me now in my circle, they say, Aaron, you don't
-
talk much.
-
Well, I have so many years of just like talking
-
too much.
-
The more I read the Book of Proverbs, the more
-
you just taught me shut up, be a listener Proverbs seventeen.
-
Look at that if you want.
-
I'll give you an example from my life. This was
-
over twenty years ago, and I just talked too much.
-
I was making man pay, but I had a boy mindset.
-
I was probably about twenty two.
-
Twenty three years old, I think, and making a lot
-
of money. I'm working in Pomona in a call center,
-
and I already knew man, they're about to make me
-
the regional vice president, so I might as well get
-
settled here. And they were building these new homes in
-
Pomona and in.
-
These new homes in Pomona.
-
The way that they would inspire you when you would
-
come in and try to see about the house, they
-
would give you the blueprints. So I would keep these
-
blueprints in my condo and then I say, you know what,
-
says I'm trying to make more money to get this house.
-
What I did was I plastered these blueprints in my
-
office and I tried to have it as inspiration on this.
-
Is what you're working hard for. Now, here's the problem.
-
I would have these blueprints and then people will come
-
in my office, Oh what are those? Oh you know
-
what I'm saying, I'm about to buy this brand new house.
-
You feel me? Just put the blueprints up. Let's put
-
the blueprints soup. I'd be like, you know what, that's
-
gonna be mine. I'm at the master bedroom and we're
-
gonna have a pool party. It's gonna be popping.
-
You're gonna wanna pull up and I'm about to drop
-
this rap album, probably be platinum by that time, so
-
you probably want to be up there. I'm just talking.
-
And people, Hey, well you need a roommate. Oh you
-
want you want to live with me? Okay, well, we
-
got to talk about it.
-
And I'm arguing with people on who's gonna get the
-
master bedroom?
-
Who can I'm not even.
-
Talking to banks, but I'm talking to people.
-
About what I'm about to do. Now we go to
-
work with these blueprints.
-
Because I'm about to beat this hollown I'm about to
-
get a brand new house.
-
People are gonna come through and see how rich I am.
-
Don't we do that sometimes on social media?
-
This is what I'm about to do.
-
I'm about to do this business, and this business is gonna.
-
Change the world. What we're doing something and there's nothing
-
wrong with that.
-
But Luke fourteen says, count the cost because you don't
-
want to be considered somebody that talks about all the
-
plans and doesn't finish them. And that was me walking
-
around with blueprints when God was looking for my footprints.
-
Will you walk this thing out that I can trust
-
you at a home?
-
But I love the way it felt when people would
-
be impressed by what I was about to do instead
-
of just being in private and having obedience and humility
-
training is having your blueprints in private, but your footprints
-
in public. We don't have to show everybody what we
-
about to do. But when we pray, we can talk
-
to God about the desires of our hearts. In Psalm
-
thirty seven, verse for says, delight yourself in the Lord.
-
He'll give you the desires of your heart.
-
But it's in that order, because once we delight ourselves
-
in the Lord, he changes the pallet of our heart.
-
So what we desire is Him, and once we have Him,
-
we have everything.
-
You know.
-
Before I conclude, I want to put these things on
-
the screen. I wrote these in my journal and I
-
think they'll be beneficial to us as a community. When
-
we were verse ten through fourteen, here's how I would
-
summarize some tips to do in spiritual warfare. Control your mouth.
-
Now it's in your because it was to Aaron Levy,
-
so I wrote it like how I wrote it to me, Aaron.
-
Control your mouth, guardigans, complaining and premature declarations. Commit to community,
-
stay with the camp, not isolated. Continue in obedience. Don't
-
quit just because you don't see the walls falling yet.
-
Whenever we face something in our life.
-
God to give us a word.
-
We've got to walk that thing out.
-
And as we're.
-
Walking it out, there will be warfare, but we'll surround
-
ourselves with our patriot community. That's why we have neighborhood groups,
-
so that way, when you're in warfare, you're not in
-
warfare alone. So as I conclude, I want to give
-
everybody an invitation. You may know church, but that's not
-
my question. My question is do you know Jesus. I'm
-
a church professional. I can't count how many church services
-
I've ever been to, but I live decades of my
-
life ignoring the word of God. And I'm a living
-
testimony that no matter how far you are from Christ,
-
God's love will reach you where you're at and just say, hey,
-
here's a word, let's start working, let's just start walking here.
-
It was on my heart to pray for those that
-
came for the first time on Easter and came back
-
that Wednesday, because that's my story.
-
Fifteen years ago.
-
I will come here the very back with my family
-
Easter of twenty ten and Pastor Diego will be on
-
stage and he said, hey, come to church for the
-
next year straight and see what God to do in
-
your life. And I said, I'm coming that next Wednesday.
-
And I never forget that sermon series he did. It
-
was called Christian Atheist that I knew all the Christian terms,
-
but my lifestyle didn't look like or believe in Jesus.
-
So I was praying for you, specifically for those that
-
you came on Easter and you came back on Wednesday.
-
God loves you as is.
-
You don't have to change anything about yourself to be loved,
-
but his love is so influential you'll want to change
-
so you can honor him and be more like him.
-
There's some of you that have been coming to Patria
-
for a while. You love the vibes, you love the worship,
-
you love the word. It's cool, But have you surrendered your.
-
Life to Jesus yet.
-
Here's what I can tell you. Church services won't save you.
-
The blood of Jesus will. There is a God who
-
loves you so much that he sent his son Jesus
-
to die on the cross and take the penalty that
-
we all deserve.
-
And once we believe that in our heart, we.
-
Experience freedom that we don't have to improve from all
-
we've done in the past. We can confess that, give
-
that to our Lord and walk with him. Everyone in
-
this room has that opportunity to start that or continue that.
-
When we looked at Joshua. It kept saying the word
-
continue continually, continually. There's some of you that started walking
-
with Jesus, then you start walking the pain of life,
-
the confusion, the situations, the relationships cause us to stray
-
instead of following Jesus. We might have started following some
-
other pursuits. But tonight you're reminded that if God can
-
talk to Joshua, he could talk to me. There's some
-
things that you learn tonight that you say, you know what,
-
I'm grabbing that for me. It's an invitation for you
-
tonight to give your life back to Jesus, rededicate your life,
-
continue on the faith journey. You're already on the way
-
to heaven, but your life will start looking different as
-
you walk in following Jesus.
-
I'm gonna ask everybody to close their eyes for a moment.
-
Online, and I would love for you to just lock
-
in with me, please. I'm going to ask everybody to
-
say this prayer together as a community to encourage those
-
that are praying this prayer.
-
For the first time.
-
You're going to start your faith journey with Jesus, and
-
it has nothing to do with what you've done. Is
-
everything that Jesus has done for you, but you're going
-
to continue and surrender to him.
-
There's a second group of you.
-
You're going to say this prayer out loud as a declaration.
-
I'm moving forward.
-
I will take Jesus seriously.
-
I will get in his word.
-
I'm gonna walk with him even when there's warfare.
-
And I want us all.
-
To repeat this prayer together to encourage those that are
-
praying this prayer.
-
Say this with me.
-
Please say, dear Lord Jesus, I believe that you died
-
on the cross for all of my sin. I receive
-
your forgiveness for this moment forward.
-
You are my savior and my Lord.
-
Teach me to trust you, give me a desire for
-
your word.
-
Surround me with people that point me to you. In
-
Jesus name, we pray. It's all open our eyes.
-
Patreo is a safe place and there are people right
-
now in this community that are praying for this moment.
-
I'm gonna ask.
-
That if you prayed that prayer for the first time
-
to give your life to Jesus, or you pray that
-
prayer to rededicate your life to Jesus.
-
On the counter three, I'm gonna ask you to raise
-
your hand bold.
-
That moment was for me and we just want to
-
celebrate you because we're family and online. If that's you
-
as well, please just give me a hand emoji.
-
You're just a part of this moment as well.
-
On the counter of three, to give your life to
-
Jesus or to continue your life with Jesus.
-
One two, let's do this for Christ.
-
One two three, go ahead and raise your hand high.
-
Raise your hand high. Come on church, let's celebrate. Keep
-
your hands high, keep your hands high. One two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty,
-
twenty one, twenty two, twenty three, twenty four, twenty five,
-
twenty six, twenty seven, twenty eight, twenty nine. Thank you Jesus, hallelujah.
-
So many more people online. Glory to God.
-
We serve a risen king that's still saving souls. People
-
are still on their way to heaven. Jesus is still
-
on the throne.
-
So pumped. I love Jesus and he loves you.
-
Man.
-
I'm happy.
-
Hey, Hey, thank you, thank you God, Thank you God,
-
thank you God.
-
Hey, if you just gave your life to Christ. I
-
just want to encourage you. It's not like your life's
-
gonna get easier.
-
It's just like you have a best friend that created
-
the world, that has your back at all times. So
-
the more time you spend with him and people that
-
spend time with him, the sayer your be. So my
-
challenge is come Sunday or Saturday Saturday six pm, Sunday
-
nine am eleven am. Just stay connected and just getting
-
reps and coming to church.
-
Take notes. Take one thing somebody said, get in the
-
scripture and try to live that out. Ask questions.
-
The reason why I'm emotional is because God did that
-
for me, and I'm just so honored that we get
-
to do that for other people. Hey, if you said
-
that prayer, you go to visit www dot grow dot faith.
-
There's a book by our founding pastor that we want
-
to put in your hand. We want to teach you
-
how to just walk this faith journey out. Also, if
-
you want to be a part of our church community,
-
it's all about next steps, not next Sunday.
-
It's next steps.
-
So maybe your next step is growth track. Every Sunday
-
at nine o'clock, we teach you about our vision and
-
our values, but most importantly about you. Now, God loves
-
you and designed you to make a difference in this world.
-
So you can go to our website and you can
-
register for that class. Or you can go out in
-
the in the in the fourier, ask anybody what a
-
family shirt about?
-
What growth track is? Amen? Let's all stand to our feet.
-
Were you guys blessed by today's service? God is good.
-
If you need specific prayer, there'll be a prayer team
-
that'll pray for you.
-
I pray generally and you'll be dismissed.
-
Heavenly Father, thank you so much for what you're continuing
-
to do with your word.
-
Thank you for saving souls.
-
Now I pray in the name of Jesus for discipleship.
-
Lord.
-
People were raising hands, and I thank you for the
-
leaders in this church that we're looking at the hands
-
raised and saying I got her, I got him. I
-
pray that no old body does Christianity alone in this church.
-
That we live up to this name. Family. In Jesus' name,
-
we pray. Hey, man, God bless you. You're dismissed. Thank
-
you so much.
