  1. All right, well Price Gott it's good to see everybody

  2. here for all those either watching online or part of

  3. our campuses. So glad that you made it on this Sunday,

  4. and we're excited for tonight's service.

  5. I also want to encourage you.

  6. We've had some dms and messages I catch are not

  7. pastor Sammy said that part, but we're gonna be live

  8. streaming tonight as well. So if you know anyone that's

  9. in hospice, in the hospital, anything like that, we've been messaged.

  10. We've been told that there are people in their family

  11. who are at home and they're not able to get

  12. up bed because of their terminal illness, or they're at

  13. the hospital room and they want to join their faith

  14. with tonight. So if you know anybody like that, or

  15. maybe you know someone out of state who's dealing with

  16. terminal illness and you want them to join online, this

  17. message today is gonna be a message that will encourage

  18. anyone that's out of state or in a hospital, because

  19. you don't have to be in the room to receive healing.

  20. You just have to join your faith with what God

  21. is doing. And so you can encourage anyone to experience

  22. that should they want to tune in tonight on our

  23. YouTube channel. If you have your Bible, would you open

  24. it and save a spot turn to Matthew chapter eight.

  25. We've been in a series called Read Letter Series where

  26. we've been looking at the words and teaching of Jesus

  27. found in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John

  28. many of us in our physical Bibles. When you open

  29. the Bible and turn to Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John,

  30. you'll see that every time that Jesus speaks, most Bibles

  31. nowadays not all will have Jesus's words anytime he speaks,

  32. they'll have it in read And so for this month,

  33. we've been looking at those read letters of Jesus, and

  34. then we've been looking at the show The Chosen Series

  35. and taking that passage showing the clip of that show

  36. and seeing the Bible come to life. And since tonight

  37. is a healing night, we kind of want to open

  38. up with a little bit of a teaching about healing

  39. and a little bit of what God can do with

  40. our expectation of faith. And so we've made sure that

  41. today as we talk about healing, it's to build an

  42. expectation for this evening for those that may be coming,

  43. but also what we could believe for from God today.

  44. So if you're ready for the word of God, would

  45. you stand for just a moment as we honor God's word.

  46. If you're new to our church, we stand for the

  47. reading of God's word because if any type of prolific figure,

  48. whether it was a politician or some type of person

  49. of prominence, came in the room, we would all stand

  50. in respect and honor. So God's word is far more

  51. above any of those things, and the presence of God

  52. is far more above.

  53. Any of those things.

  54. So if you're like, why do we stand at this point,

  55. it's because God deserves the honor by our attention.

  56. And so here's what God's Word says.

  57. In verses five to thirteen, it says, when he had

  58. entered Capernaum, a centurion, which is a soldier, a leader,

  59. came forward to him, appealing to him, Lord, my servant

  60. is lying paralyzed at home, suffering terribly. And he said

  61. to him, this is Jesus. I will come and heal him.

  62. But the centurion replied, Lord, I'm not worthy to have

  63. you come under my roof, but only say the word,

  64. and my servant will be, For I too am a

  65. man under authority, with soldiers under me.

  66. And I say to one go, and he goes.

  67. And I say to another, come, and he comes, and

  68. to my servant, do this, and he does it.

  69. When Jesus heard this, he marveled.

  70. And said to those who followed him, Truly, I tell you,

  71. with no one in Israel have I found such faith.

  72. I tell you, many will come from the East and

  73. the West and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac

  74. and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven.

  75. While the sons he's.

  76. Talking about, the Jewish people, those that do not believe

  77. in Jesus, those that reject Jesus, while the sons of

  78. the kingdom will be thrown into outer darkness. In that

  79. place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth and

  80. the Satyrian and Jesus said to the centurion, go let

  81. it be done, for as you have believed.

  82. And the servant was healed. At that moment, Amen, you

  83. may be seated.

  84. Let's go ahead and look into the clip from the

  85. show that chosen that depicts this moment in the scriptures.

  86. The best.

  87. Lord, my.

  88. Servant boy is lying paralyzed at home. He has been

  89. sick for so long. Now he is suffering terribly.

  90. Your death.

  91. Thank me to him.

  92. Lord, you call him Lord.

  93. I am not worthy to have you come into my home,

  94. and I know you would not be comfortable as a

  95. Jew a Romans home. But you only need to say

  96. the word and he won't be healed. I'm not worthy

  97. the truth about the child.

  98. He's actually my son.

  99. I am so ashamed.

  100. I shouldn't even be asking you, but I am.

  101. And I know you can do it.

  102. Master.

  103. I never thought i'd say this, but he is worthy

  104. to have you do this far. He loves our people.

  105. He's helped us.

  106. I know.

  107. I do not trouble yourself.

  108. You can heal him from a distance with only a

  109. word of command.

  110. I also have authority with.

  111. Men under me.

  112. If I say in one go, he goes.

  113. If I say to another, he comes.

  114. Anything you command in this world will happen.

  115. I know it.

  116. Even this.

  117. Stand up, what arise.

  118. Which you will hear?

  119. This man? Truly, I tell you, with no one in

  120. Israel have I found such faith. I was rejected in

  121. my own hometown, and I'm threatened by the religious leaders

  122. of my own people.

  123. And yet and yet this man.

  124. A gentile has more bold confidence in what he believes

  125. that I can do than anyone I have yet encountered.

  126. God, it has been done for you according to your belief.

  127. Thank you, thank you.

  128. You have brightened my day to encounter.

  129. This kind of faith.

  130. Let's talk about a little bit what we saw.

  131. You know, it always goes good for reiterating to remind

  132. ourselves that in the days of Jesus, to be a Roman,

  133. let alone a Roman soldier, was not a good thing

  134. to the Jewish people. Romans were people who their leader

  135. was Caesar, who was an emperor, and he took land

  136. over land, over land over land, and every land that

  137. they took over, they subjugated those people.

  138. Under the authority.

  139. They taxed them like crazy, they criminalized them like crazy.

  140. And so for the.

  141. Average Jewish person, they didn't like Romans. Romans was the

  142. outside guy. Romans in our day, Romans was what our

  143. understanding would be would be of a Nazi or some

  144. type of enemy of someone that would come in. It

  145. was a negative person. And this man, of all things,

  146. he's a centurion. What's a centurion. He's a man that's

  147. in charge of one hundred soldiers in Israel. So this

  148. man's inn a leader. He has authority, he has rank,

  149. he has privileged, he has wealth, he's got one of

  150. the best houses in the city that more than likely

  151. they kicked somebody out of.

  152. This man is not well liked.

  153. This man, for the most part in his life, has

  154. not done a crazy amount of good or righteous things.

  155. He's a pagan at that, so he doesn't even follow God.

  156. And on top of that, he's a gentile, which is

  157. non Jewish.

  158. Basically, he sets.

  159. Every standard of what it looks like for someone to

  160. not be a believer and not follow God. And here

  161. he is, he's coming to Jesus and he's kneeling down

  162. before Jesus. The only person that a soldier is able

  163. to kneel down before is Caesar, the ruler of Rome.

  164. And this man recognizes that there is a spiritual ruler

  165. in front of him that's even greater than Caesar, and

  166. he gets on his knees to show Jesus that he's

  167. subject to him, that Jesus.

  168. Is in charge.

  169. Now you mean think, oh that's nice, I recognize Jesus

  170. is in charge.

  171. This soldier.

  172. If he gets caught doing what he's doing, not only

  173. does he lose his rank. Not only does he lose

  174. his privilege, he loses his life.

  175. So would you kneel before Jesus.

  176. If that meant that you could lose your life? And

  177. he's there not for himself, He's there to intercede for

  178. someone else's healing, someone that he knows and he loves.

  179. He is praying for their healing so much so that

  180. he's willing to take whatever potential punishment may happen to

  181. him just so someone.

  182. That he loves could be healed. Is powerful, and Jesus makes.

  183. This words, I don't know if you've ever been to

  184. a venue before, and have you ever seen, you know,

  185. these barricades here. And normally what happens is if you

  186. go to some type of concert or some type of thing,

  187. they have these barricades, and these barricades are either keeping

  188. you away from the celebrity on stage, or the barricades

  189. are keeping you away from the VIPs. So normally we

  190. have the people who paid extra tickets or the people

  191. who got better seats or whatever, and you have these barricades.

  192. And so in this story, what's happening is the Jewish people,

  193. what Jesus.

  194. Is saying is they think they're in VIP.

  195. He calls them the children of Israel, the sons of Abraham,

  196. Isaac and Jacob, and he says, what's gonna happen is

  197. God Jesus is making this a statement that in the

  198. future God is gonna allow a seat at the table

  199. in Heaven to people from the east to the west.

  200. In other words, he's hinting to say, hey, salvation is

  201. not just for the Jews. But then he makes this

  202. statement and he says, there are children of Israel who

  203. thinks that they're in VIP, but they're gonna be shocked

  204. one day because they will be cast into outer darkness

  205. because they thought they were born into something rather than

  206. having faith to believe something.

  207. And so Jesus is here with the.

  208. Disciples in VIP, and what happens is this gentile Roman

  209. centurion he's here with everybody else, and when he recognizes

  210. Jesus and his placement in his section and with his

  211. Jewish people as an outsider, as someone that's behind the barricade, what.

  212. Happens is is he does something bold.

  213. He has a willingness to separate the barricade.

  214. And he comes around it and he don't jump into.

  215. VIP because usually that's where security takes you out.

  216. So you'll notice. How do you know he doesn't want

  217. to jump into VIP because he comes to Jesus While Jesus.

  218. Is in this section which recognizes access to God, authority

  219. of God.

  220. All the other Jewish people are there.

  221. The man comes up to Jesus and he says this,

  222. I got someone that I love. Kneels on his feet,

  223. shows jesusthority. I know someone that I love.

  224. That needs healing, and I ask that you do it. Lord.

  225. Jesus is over here on VIP and he goes like this, well,

  226. let me come where your home is. I'll do it.

  227. And the man says, no, no, no, no, no, stay in

  228. your section. I don't need you to defile yourself and

  229. come to my home. In my home are the statues

  230. of all my little gods, and all the incenses that

  231. I burn and all the other things that I do.

  232. My house is defiled.

  233. And as a Jewish person, if you come in my home,

  234. my home, my lifestyle, everything that I do, everything that

  235. it'll defile you.

  236. Jesus. Now he doesn't know that that don't matter to Jesus, but.

  237. In such a respect for Jesus, he's telling Jesus.

  238. No, I don't need you to come where I'm at.

  239. Jesus, I know that you have so much authority that

  240. from where you are at, if you just say the word,

  241. he will be healed. I don't need you to come

  242. where I'm at. I don't need you to step down.

  243. That's why Jesus is amazed by the faith.

  244. Because everyone else is going.

  245. If Jesus went like this, oh, let me move the

  246. gate barricade, come into the you know all of us

  247. would be crowding. You remember those days you were invited

  248. to a house party and invited all your friends and

  249. just crowded that thing. That's what we want. Well, like, Jesus,

  250. invite me in, and I'm coming in. Man, I want

  251. all the access. I got all these prayer requests, I

  252. got all these things that I need.

  253. I have all these things that I want.

  254. And for Jesus, he's saying, okay, I'll remove this barricade.

  255. Let me give you access. And the man has so

  256. much honor and respect for Jesus. He says, Jesus, I

  257. don't need anything, I just need you to speak it.

  258. And the man recognized, I have one hundred soldiers under me.

  259. I don't always have to be present for them.

  260. To follow orders.

  261. All I gotta do is just send the decree and

  262. the messenger.

  263. And we know according to the New Testament.

  264. Book of Acts, the Holy Spirit is the messenger of God.

  265. He said what happens is for a soldier, all he

  266. has to do is take that signet ring and seal

  267. it that message. And it don't matter if the centurion

  268. is in the room or not. If the message has

  269. been sealed, then it will be done.

  270. And he says, if as.

  271. An earthly soldier, I have that type of authority, Jesus,

  272. for who you are.

  273. Theesis chapter four, verse thirty says that you have.

  274. Been sealed by the Holy Spirit for the day of redemption.

  275. There's a clear ceiling that use this Roman terminology for

  276. us to understand that the moment you confess Jesus as

  277. Lord and Savior, God will seal you, which means everywhere

  278. that you go you have God's seal of approval over

  279. your life, not because of what you've done, but because

  280. of what Jesus has done.

  281. But it's your step of faith.

  282. That says God, I acknowledge you are everything you said

  283. you are. So what Jesus does is this interaction. Jesus says,

  284. There's been no one in all of Israel who has

  285. had faith like this man. And you may say, well,

  286. Pastor Samy, should about the woman in the Book of

  287. Mark who touched you Jesus's Hymn of Garment.

  288. Again, she thought she had to touch Jesus.

  289. The reason why this man had so much faith is

  290. because he believed Jesus.

  291. You don't even have to be in the room presence.

  292. Your physical body, because I know your word, the spirit

  293. of God. I know that your word has no bounds.

  294. Wherever the spirit can go, that is where God's miracles,

  295. signs and wonders can go. And if God can create

  296. the heavens and earth with just a word, why can't

  297. he heal your earthly body. If God can speak and

  298. say light and there's stars in the sky, if he

  299. can speak and say oceans and there's waters all amongst

  300. our land, how could he not say healed and we

  301. not be healed? See the centurion recognize Jesus. If you

  302. just say it, you can do it. If you just

  303. say it, you can do it. I want you to

  304. just see three brief things that we see about the centurion.

  305. The first thing we see in his faith walk Number

  306. one is his attitude. His attitude is a moment of humility.

  307. His attitude is a place where he's hungry for help.

  308. He says, Lord, I am not worthy.

  309. He recognizes, though he may have rank, though he may

  310. have a great uniform on, though he has control of

  311. a lot of people, he knows that in the presence

  312. of Jesus, that rank is meaningless. Isaiah fifty seven, verse

  313. fourteen to fifteen says this, It says, it says uh,

  314. and it shall be said, this is a prophetic word

  315. of God to Isaiah.

  316. But it's a word that we know that Jesus would fulfill.

  317. And it be said, build up, build up, prepare the way,

  318. and remove every obstruction from people's way. For thus says

  319. the one who is high and lifted up, holy and

  320. holy inhabits eternity, whose name is holy. I dwell in

  321. the high and holy place, and also with him who

  322. is of contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit

  323. of the lowly and revive the heart of the contract.

  324. You see the Lord says in Isaiah fifty.

  325. Seven, he says, though I'm in heaven, and I'm in

  326. a high authority, I'm not far for those that are

  327. humble in spirit, those who do not think highly of themselves,

  328. but come to me low. And this is what the

  329. centurion inhabits and embodies. He shows us that, regardless of

  330. his earthly prominence, he is willing to set that aside.

  331. Come low before Jesus. Not in a place of pride.

  332. He didn't come in with his authority and rank and say, Jesus,

  333. heal my servant, or.

  334. I will kill you. He could have had that authority.

  335. But he came to Jesus and said, Jesus, I'll get

  336. on my knees.

  337. I'll lose it all if you just heal. I'll give

  338. it all up. If you could just heal the person

  339. in my home that you love and that I love you.

  340. See, if I've passed around a mic to everybody here,

  341. all of us, we all have a thousand problems, okay,

  342. and if you like jay Z, you have ninety nine problems.

  343. But I don't have ninety nine. I have a thousand

  344. problems every single day. And if I passed the mic

  345. around and I said, hey, everybody, take turns and share

  346. all of your problems with each other, all of us,

  347. how many of you guys know, we would be here

  348. till twenty twenty six, right, we all just took turns

  349. and just listed our problems, we'd be here for a

  350. very long time. But how many of us know that

  351. when you're terminally ill or you're extremely sick, and that moment,

  352. you only have one problem.

  353. You don't have a thousand problems.

  354. It don't matter, It don't matter what any other problem was.

  355. When you get a terminal illness, when you're sick, all

  356. those problems go aside, and now everything reduces to one problem.

  357. And what happens is this centurion, he doesn't come with

  358. his problem. He comes with the one problem in his life,

  359. someone that he knows is sick, and he doesn't come

  360. to Jesus, say, Jesus, I've been asking, I've been believing

  361. for a promotion in a Roman centurion.

  362. I don't. I don't.

  363. I don't want to be a centurion. I want to

  364. be a legionnaire. I want a thousand soldiers under me.

  365. He didn't say that.

  366. He did say, Jesus, I've been praying for this or

  367. that or all these other things.

  368. He comes because he has someone.

  369. That he loves, that he knows is ill, and he comes,

  370. he says, Jesus, I just got one request.

  371. Can you heal? Because that what happens, and he comes.

  372. Bold asking for it. He says I'm not worthy, but

  373. he makes the requests. Do this for me, please. He

  374. doesn't give up. He comes into a room that he

  375. knows he's unwelcomed in. He comes into a space that

  376. he knows he's defiled when he stepped in, but he is.

  377. His attitude is so hungry for God to move he

  378. puts all everything else to the side to intercede for

  379. someone else.

  380. That's what faith looks like.

  381. Means I don't give up when I pray. It means

  382. I continually seek God no matter what. C. S.

  383. Lewis says.

  384. This humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking

  385. of yourself less. And this man comes with humility to say, Jesus,

  386. I'm not thinking about me right now. I'm thinking about

  387. someone that I love that I know that's sick. And

  388. if you just say the word, I know they can

  389. be healed. He didn't give up in that moment. Couple

  390. months ago, I was speaking at our campus up in Alameda,

  391. and you know I've been I've been trying to make

  392. sure I keep my weight off and everything like that

  393. and continue to lose weight. So even when I travel,

  394. try to make sure I go to a gym. And

  395. so even if for a couple of days I got

  396. to pay a day pass or whatever it is at

  397. a gym, not every hotel has a has a decent

  398. functioning gym. And so when I was at Alameda, I

  399. was like, Okay, I need to go to the gym.

  400. And I researched a really nice gym.

  401. They had like a cold plunge sauna, all the boogie

  402. stuff you can imagine the water that tasted like lemon

  403. and cucumber and everything like that. So I thought, oh,

  404. that'd be nice. I'm gonna go to that gym. It's

  405. a few cities over from Alameda and actually one of

  406. the top three richest cities in California, And so I

  407. thought I was gonna be a really nice gym experience.

  408. I'm gonna feel like one of them people in Mailros

  409. that go to pilates and stuff like that. So I

  410. was like, that's what I'm gonna do today. And so

  411. I invited Phil and Pastor Flago with me. If you

  412. don't know, Phil feels with me everywhere that I go.

  413. He's my brother. We do life together. But Phil looks

  414. like a bouncer. You know, he's half Hispanic, half Italian.

  415. He's six something and he looks like he should be

  416. standing in front of a.

  417. Nightclub out in Hollywood. That's Phil's look. And so I

  418. got Phil with me, and.

  419. Then I Pastor Flago with me, who's Puerto Rican, and

  420. pretty much everything he has is baggy. Okay, he's recently

  421. got a new wardrobe, but historically everything was like a

  422. two x three X.

  423. He's in great shape. So I called this gym the

  424. day before.

  425. I said, hey, I'm interested in coming stopping by him

  426. coming in town. Do you guys do guest passes? They said, yes,

  427. we do, we have guest passes. I said, okay, perfect.

  428. So I text Phil and Fuego and I said, hey,

  429. y'all want to go to the gym with me tomorrow morning.

  430. They said yeah, let's do it.

  431. So, okay, we show up Pastor Fuegos in his extra

  432. baggy you know, workout shorts and baggy hoodie Phil.

  433. I don't think Phil had workout clothes.

  434. So I think he was wearing jeans and some bands

  435. or something like that when we went to the gym,

  436. and then and then I show up, you know, normal

  437. workout clothes.

  438. So we walk in the front door.

  439. And there's two employees at the front desk, both wearing suits.

  440. At a gym, they weren't suits. We walk in the

  441. front door and said, hey, can we help you guys?

  442. I said, yeah, we're just interested in getting the guest

  443. pass for the day. Oh he said, oh, we're out

  444. of those. After a couple seconds looking us up and

  445. down and stuff like that, and he said we're out

  446. of those. I said that can't be. So he said

  447. why can't that be? So I said, I called yesterday

  448. you guys, said you have guest passes. He said, well,

  449. normally this is a busy time, so we have to

  450. make sure that there's space for all of the members.

  451. So we're out of guest passes. And I could see

  452. the gym behind them.

  453. And no one was there. It's eight o'clock in the morning,

  454. everybody's at work. What are you talking about? And so

  455. I said, I think we're mistaken.

  456. Look here, I called, But even on your website it

  457. says guest passes available.

  458. He said, yeah, but we're all out of them right now.

  459. Now because I'm a pastor, and also we have social

  460. media nowadays, and I don't want no one filming anything

  461. or anything like that.

  462. I said, I just said, I just said, Okay. Now,

  463. I don't know why they did that. I don't know

  464. why they said that.

  465. I know they were tripping because the next day I

  466. called to make sure and they said, yeah, we have

  467. guest passes available. You know, that was a mistake. Whatever

  468. it was, that's fine, Okay, now we leave pastor fuego.

  469. What's that mean?

  470. He says, I'm a member of a gym. I got

  471. guest passes. There's one down the street. Let's just go

  472. to the gym. I said, no, let's go get some waffles,

  473. little Vietnamese coffee, some waffles, some syrup, side of hash browns.

  474. Let's go get some waffles. And so sure enough, we

  475. had some of the best waffles of my life. I

  476. even filmed an invite to service that night at the

  477. waffle house there.

  478. But how often do we do that with our faith?

  479. We just encounter just a little bit of friction, just

  480. what we think is a little bit of denial, just

  481. a little bit of a delay, just a little bit

  482. of a human that just got a bad attitude or

  483. a thing that you go to the doctor and they

  484. just say they're saying something, and we just use that

  485. as enough friction to say, Okay, I give up.

  486. God, you can't do it.

  487. God, you can't heal this person I met, that's a Christian.

  488. They said, God, don't heal no more. But they didn't

  489. read the whole Bible. So we just take someone else's word.

  490. We just take a statement, we just take a thing,

  491. and we just say that's it.

  492. I'm not gonna work out no more. I'm just gonna

  493. go get some waffles. I'm gonna give up.

  494. I'm not gonna believe for healing anymore. I'm not gonna

  495. trust God anymore. I'm gonna walk away from what God

  496. can do, not because God said it, but because something

  497. else delayed. Something else felt like a denial for this centurion. Men,

  498. there are a thousand things that I shared that could

  499. have stopped him from asking Jesus to heal. On record,

  500. even in that land, Jesus had not healed a gentile.

  501. He had everything going from like his No one of

  502. his people or his caliber had been healed in Jesus's ministry,

  503. and so he could have.

  504. Thought, there's no way I'm gonna be the first.

  505. There's no way this person, my servant, is gonna be

  506. the first gentile.

  507. That Jesus heals. There's no way. But he doesn't think

  508. any of those things.

  509. His attitude is he comes in and he's hungry because

  510. he's fighting for someone else's life, and he won't stop.

  511. And whether we're praying for someone else's healing or we're

  512. believing for our own healing, you cannot quit, you cannot stop.

  513. Faith is the substance of things that are unseen and

  514. the things that are hoped for.

  515. It's what you believe God can and will do.

  516. And this man's faith is so big that he says, Jesus,

  517. so far everything that you've done, you've been in the

  518. room for. But I have such big faith. I believe

  519. that as long as your word go forth, which is

  520. your spirit, it can be done.

  521. That's faith.

  522. That's the power of someone who knows what God can do.

  523. And this is not a man who grew up in church.

  524. This isn't a man who went to synagogue every Friday night.

  525. This isn't a man who celebrated the Passover every April.

  526. This isn't a man who celebrated Hanukkah every December.

  527. He and know none of that stuff. Sometimes we think

  528. that's a prerequisite.

  529. You know, Well, if you're gonna really believe God, do

  530. you know all the Christian lingo?

  531. And do you know all that? No?

  532. No, believe God? And do you have faith? You have

  533. faith that Jesus can do. Here's the second thing is

  534. he has an approach. Not only his attitude is hungry,

  535. but his approach is like I share.

  536. It's humble, it's humble, but bold.

  537. He says, Matthew eight nine, only say the word and

  538. my servant will be healed.

  539. He didn't say Jesus.

  540. Do you think he didn't come up and say, Jesus,

  541. if you're not in the room, are you able to heal?

  542. He's like, I didn't really get a manuscript on this.

  543. I haven't read my Bible before.

  544. I don't know. Like, are you are there things you

  545. can do when you're not in the room. No.

  546. He comes up and he goes, if I can get

  547. things done when I'm not in the room, and if

  548. Jesus is everything he is, then what I'm asking for

  549. is easy for him. Doesn't mean he knows Jesus is

  550. gonna do it or not, but he does know that

  551. it is easy business for Jesus that Jesus can absolutely do.

  552. That is my speaker on right here. I can't tell,

  553. let me turn it on.

  554. And so what happens is Corey ten Boone says, this

  555. faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible.

  556. That's what faith is.

  557. Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible.

  558. Well, faith isn't always loud, it's confident.

  559. This man didn't shout at Jesus, he didn't.

  560. Beg at Jesus. He believed in Jesus. That's the difference.

  561. He went to Jesus and he believed that Jesus has

  562. the authority, not as a magician, but as a king

  563. who commands sickness. That's who Jesus is, and that's who

  564. the man believed that he had met before. I don't

  565. know if you have any of these at your house,

  566. if you use Bluetooth speakers.

  567. Did anyone use a Bluetooth speaker at home? Anybody? I

  568. know I got some of these?

  569. How many of you guys when you got a Bluetooth speaker,

  570. like when you're in the kitchen and stuff like that.

  571. How many of you guys carry one of these with you?

  572. Like when you're around the house, Like let's just say

  573. you're like doing laundry or like you're doing.

  574. The dishes or cooking food.

  575. Do you guys like hold on to this while you're cooking?

  576. You guys do any of that stuff? Like you make

  577. sure that it's touching your body in next to your

  578. phone at all times. How many guys are weird?

  579. You know? You know some of us when we get

  580. you know, we don't know technology.

  581. When we think getting our phone closer will like either

  582. make it connect.

  583. More or get it louder, you know, Like I'll.

  584. See people sometimes like oh it's not connecting, hold on,

  585. let me touch it. Let me touch it, Like hey, hey,

  586. I regret to inform you has nothing to do with

  587. that at all. And so what happens we know with

  588. bluetooth what happens is I can set this and when

  589. it's connected, I can I could play whatever I want.

  590. I don't even I mean, I could go behind this wall,

  591. I can. I can go wherever I want. Now, I

  592. know there's certain a certain level of dis is to

  593. stick with me. I mean, I don't. I don't have

  594. to be next to it. I can even be somewhere.

  595. I could be.

  596. I could be behind this wall and it would still

  597. connect because as long as it's connected, it has access,

  598. and as long as I'm connected to it, it can

  599. do everything that I wanted to do.

  600. It can play.

  601. But a lot of times we think that I have

  602. to be touching this in order for it to do something.

  603. Me touching this right now doesn't do anything to this.

  604. It doesn't make the music go louder, don't change the song.

  605. It doesn't.

  606. And so I could be away from it and I

  607. have access to it. And a lot of times we

  608. think that for some reason, I have to be physically

  609. touching something of Jesus.

  610. Oh, I need God to move. So I just got

  611. to be into a specific church service.

  612. Now, in a specific church service, it may build your

  613. faith up. But I'll tell you this, it's no different

  614. than your laundry room. It's no different than your bedroom.

  615. It's no different than your closet, it's no different than

  616. your car. You know, I go to Israel quite a bit,

  617. and you know there are groupings of Christians that it's

  618. very famous that when you go to Israel.

  619. You see when you're in Israel, and.

  620. I don't mean to judge or make fun or anything,

  621. but just to give a picture what happens when you're

  622. in Israel. There are people where they will bring like

  623. crosses and necklaces and handkerchiefs and things like that, and

  624. then they'll go to where it's believed that Jesus resurrected,

  625. and they'll go to where it's believed that Jesus died,

  626. and they'll go to where it's believe Jesus did a miracle.

  627. And what they'll do is they'll take those things.

  628. They'll take their bibles, they'll take their crosses, and they'll

  629. rub it on where they think Jesus went, and so

  630. they'll you'll see them. They'll be with necklaces, they'll be

  631. like with home crosses, and people are like literally like

  632. elbowing and fighting each other not to look at it and.

  633. Go, oh, thank you Jesus for what you've done.

  634. My faith is but they're going, I need to rub

  635. this thing on here so that I could take it home,

  636. so that I have access to Jesus everywhere that I go.

  637. And for some reason, they think that where Jesus will

  638. or what he did, is more powerful than the resurrection

  639. itself than Isaiah.

  640. By Jesus stripes you are healed.

  641. That that is more power than the word of Jesus

  642. that stills proclaimed today. Then the spirit of God that

  643. can go for today. They think that a relic that

  644. Jesus once stood on or touched or whatever it was,

  645. somehow gives you access to God. But we know, as

  646. long as I have a connection. What's our connection, it

  647. is your faith. As long as I have the connection,

  648. it doesn't doesn't matter where I go, doesn't matter where

  649. I go, because wherever I go, Jesus Ford says, you've

  650. been sealed.

  651. That means the spirit of God is with you.

  652. And if he is with you, then who be against you?

  653. That's who Jesus is, and this man. The reason why

  654. Jesus has great faith is because Jesus says, this man

  655. has great faith. It is because still to this day

  656. there are people in Israel rubbing things where Jesus once was,

  657. thinking that that's where Jesus' presence is. This man came

  658. as an outsider and was like, I don't need all that.

  659. You don't even have to come to my house. I

  660. wouldn't even do you the dishonor of you coming to

  661. my house. I just need your word, Jesus, I just

  662. need your authority to speak it over. Here's the last point.

  663. Is this what's the aftermath through his faith, through his

  664. attitude and his approach. It's a miracle at a distance.

  665. And the servant was healed at that very moment. That

  666. means before the centurion even made it back home, the

  667. healing already happened because the man more than what he

  668. came for the healing, he came for the healer.

  669. And there are times that.

  670. We want the expression of what God can do without God. God,

  671. I want you to do something, but when you do it,

  672. I need you to stay where you are. You know, don't.

  673. I don't want you to follow and come into my

  674. life and change everything else. I just want you to

  675. change a circumstance. I just want you to change my illness. No,

  676. this man came to Jesus and he said, I don't.

  677. I don't just need the miracle. I want I want

  678. you to recognize who you are. When he got and

  679. he kneeled on that ground, what he was showing the

  680. world was Caesar's no longer my lord. That's what that

  681. that's what that said, said Caesar, he not my guy, Jesus,

  682. you're my lord. You don't kneel before anyone unless they're

  683. your lord. And this man said, more than the healing,

  684. I'm pulling you in full authority of who you are.

  685. And so what happens is the man recognizes and what

  686. we have to recognize.

  687. Is your faith can travel where your feet.

  688. Cannot, and your prayers can reach what your hands never will.

  689. That's what faith can do.

  690. That's what we want to encourage you with today and

  691. for a few moments, we have plenty of time here together.

  692. I'm gonna say a prayer in a moment, I'm gonnask

  693. the worship team that they begin to come out here,

  694. and I just want to spend a time building our.

  695. Faith up through worship. Just want to have a moment

  696. of worship.

  697. What I want to encourage you to do is, if

  698. you know anyone that has an illness, would you begin

  699. to intercede for them tonight, whether you know they're coming

  700. tonight or whether they're not, would you like the centurion,

  701. begin to pray for them, pray for their healing. You

  702. may say, I don't know someone with an illness, Well,

  703. you may know someone who's far from Jesus. Would you

  704. pray for them because they don't have to be in

  705. the room to encounter Jesus. They can encounter Jesus anywhere.

  706. They can encounter Jesus at a shell gas station. Anyone

  707. can encounter Jesus anywhere.

  708. Because God and his spirit.

  709. Is not contained in four walls, and it's definitely not

  710. contained through the old boxes that we put him in.

  711. God can do anything. So when we worship, would you

  712. begin to intercede.

  713. Maybe you're here and you are going through a season

  714. or an illness, begin to pray, believe God build This

  715. moment of worship is.

  716. To build our faith up.

  717. Bible talks about First Corinthians that when we pray in

  718. the spirit or pray up the spirit, that it begins

  719. to build ourselves up.

  720. It's a negative thing. There's times you need.

  721. To build yourself up, your spirit up, and when you're

  722. believing God for healing, you need to pray not only

  723. in the spirit.

  724. You need to pray and believe God for healing.

  725. So let us pray for others that we know and

  726. intercede for them that they be healed or you begin

  727. to pray. So could we all stand on our feet

  728. for a moment as we begin to just encounter the

  729. presence of God. If you want to come to the

  730. altern worship, you're more than welcome to. If you want

  731. to stay in your seat and worship, you're more than

  732. welcome to. But this is a moment where we're gonna

  733. be like the Centurion, and we're gonna put our pride

  734. to the side. We're gonna put our problems to the side,

  735. and we're just gonna bring God some things today, some

  736. things that we know, either people we know in love

  737. are going through it deeper than we are, or maybe

  738. you are going through something that's hard. You need to

  739. believe God for healing. So Lord, right now, God, we

  740. believe that you can do anything. Holy Spirit, we ask

  741. you to come into this place. Would your presence feel

  742. this atmosphere and feel this room. God, if you could

  743. do it for the Centurion, you can do it for us.

  744. God.

  745. If you can heal a paralytic man, you can heal us.

  746. If you can heal a woman with the issue of blood,

  747. you can heal us. So God, as we come back

  748. tonight with an expectation to encounter your healing Lord. May

  749. we recognize that faith is not contingent upon any of

  750. the obstructions we've put in front of us. When we

  751. put those aside and believe that you can do it.

  752. Pray you move in this place right now in Jesus' name. Amen,

  753. Let's worship a little bit.

  754. Believe Gord, we believe you can't.

  755. Let's sing this together, walking around.

  756. Walking around these walls.

  757. I thought by now they fall.

  758. But you have never.

  759. Failed me, waiting for a change.

  760. To come, knowing the bad told one.

  761. For you have never failed me.

  762. Your promise still stands.

  763. See your promise still stands.

  764. Great is your faith falls?

  765. Faith falls.

  766. I'm still in your hands this since my.

  767. Co fas you ne failed me, and you never.

  768. Will, and you never will.

  769. I know the night won't.

  770. I know the night won't.

  771. Your word will come to.

  772. My heart. My heart will see your praise.

  773. Jesus, Your still ned, Jesus, your steering.

  774. With it, keep me with your love.

  775. My heart will see your praise. Are God Prova still say,

  776. Rob still said. I'm still stealing theyr.

  777. This is my car.

  778. I ever thing your never ship Father, still stay or brains.

  779. Your pain painful.

  780. I'm still need your.

  781. This is my come.

  782. You never well and you never will.

  783. And you never will. I'm gonnachurch. Lift it up, everybody.

  784. I've seen you moved.

  785. I see that.

  786. I'm you pulled down. Don't see him do it again.

  787. I see you made away.

  788. When there was no way.

  789. I believe.

  790. I'll see you doing I turn it out singing again.

  791. I'm singing your mom. I'll see your mom mountains.

  792. And I believe. Yeah, I'll see you too. And that

  793. man you paid away when there was no way, And

  794. I believe.

  795. Just one more time church out shame.

  796. Your mom, see your your mother mountain.

  797. And I.

  798. I'll see you do it against.

  799. The way that was no way. I'll see, I'll see

  800. I'll see you knowing. Yeah, I'll see you. I'll see

  801. you again.

  802. Your promise still stands, everybody. Your promise still yeah? Great issues.

  803. Oh I'm still nearing yours. It's just my eye never

  804. felt you never thing. Your promise still your promise is great.

  805. Yeah, go.

  806. Obstudd.

  807. Lord, we thank you that you've never failed us. You've

  808. always delivered us, You've always set us free. So God,

  809. right now, I pray Lord, as we build our faith up,

  810. may we rest our eyes solely on Jesus.

  811. God.

  812. May we not focus on any other obstruction, anything that's

  813. keeping us behind and away from You. But right now, God,

  814. may we fully see you for who you are, Jesus,

  815. that you are the risen Savior and the risen King.

  816. You're the one who's died on the cross, naked, beaten

  817. and bloody for us, not because you wanted or you

  818. had to do it.

  819. It's not because you had to do It's because.

  820. You wanted to do it for us. You wanted to

  821. redeem humanity. You wanted us to live in the fullness,

  822. not just in heaven.

  823. You have fullness here on earth. God, So may you

  824. move in this place. Lord.

  825. And if there's anyone in the courtyard, in the cafe,

  826. or in this room who's never rested their faith fully

  827. on Jesus, and you're ready, you're ready to make that

  828. decision to rest your faith and your hope on the

  829. work of Jesus Christ. You're ready to turn from your

  830. old self and trust that God is at work in

  831. your life.

  832. If you're ready to.

  833. Trust that Jesus has died and risen for you, then

  834. I encourage you in this moment. The Bible says, if

  835. you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that he rose,

  836. you will be saved.

  837. That's a period. That's not a question mark. It's not

  838. a maybe, it's not an if, it's not an and

  839. if your good outweighs your bad.

  840. It's if you confess that Jesus is Lord, you will

  841. be saved. So if you're here today and you're ready

  842. to make that decision for the first time or the

  843. last time and rest your faith on Jesus, then I

  844. encourage you together as a congregation. We're going to say

  845. this prayer out loud, but it's a prayer of affirmation.

  846. It's what the Spirit of God is already doing right

  847. now in your heart. Would you join me in saying

  848. this right now as we bow our heads. When you say,

  849. dear Lord Jesus in this room, I repent of my

  850. sins and I confess you as Lord and Savior. I
