  1. Well, hey man, it's good to see everyone here tonight.

  2. And what I know about our Wednesday Fresh Start service

  3. is these are people who like to eat twice a week.

  4. One meal is not good enough.

  5. So but there might be some that you work on Sunday,

  6. so this is your first time this week. But either way,

  7. thank you so much. I'm just of the opinion. You know,

  8. the Bible says in Hebrews the tenth chapter, it says,

  9. in these last days people will be forsaking themselves in

  10. the house of God. It says, as you see the

  11. day approaching, do not cease to becoming a church. And

  12. then the presence of God church helps us raise our godliness,

  13. our spirituality, our morality. This is where we get godly

  14. examples of what a marriage should be, of what a

  15. man of God should be. Community is found within the

  16. walls of the church. And here's what I know know

  17. about the future. Whether it's because of AI or technology,

  18. it's going to become more of a lonelier generation than

  19. ever before that are going to live isolated, live and

  20. distant lives. And all the psychologists and psychiatrists are telling

  21. us that of this gen Alpha generation in how they

  22. have socially distanced. I think COVID just expose that and

  23. put it on the planet to stay. And you're going

  24. to have to fight for community. You're gonna have to

  25. fight for community, and community brings so much safety and protection,

  26. and usually people that have community in their lives are

  27. just simply happier people. And so coming to church is

  28. part of that. Plus it's a kind of a commandment.

  29. God told us to do so at the end of

  30. the day. Because Jesus told you to do it, that's

  31. a good reason to do it. Now, before I pray,

  32. introduce the subject and preach, I have to ask you

  33. to pray for me and to forgive me. I'm a

  34. little bit angry right now, and I don't know that

  35. I'll be able to minister the word of God under

  36. the anointment of God by being angry. So you have

  37. to pray for me. So I know you're just absolutely confused.

  38. Your mind is so serious right now, it's ridiculous. If

  39. I could take a picture of you. Okay, So you

  40. know that I'm just a really health buff eater. Okay,

  41. So I decided to make me the best organic pizza

  42. on the planet. So my crust was made out of

  43. broccoli that I had shedded by my hand, okay, and

  44. then it was made with cauliflour that I cut and

  45. created the base of the crust.

  46. Are you with me?

  47. And then I put some bone broth in there to stick,

  48. some eggs and a little bit of salt in there,

  49. and a little bit of olive oil, and then I

  50. let it cook to create the base. And then I

  51. put some organic tomato paste on there. And then I

  52. put what did I put on impolves? I put mushrooms

  53. on there. I uh cook some salmon and put that

  54. as my as my protein on there.

  55. I cut.

  56. I went in to sprouts and bought a pineapple and

  57. I cut up pineapple and put it on there. Doesn't

  58. sound wonderful. And I got a plate and I said,

  59. oh my god, I made so much. This will last

  60. me three days. This is awesome. I'll be eating this

  61. for the next two or three days.

  62. And so I ate my plate. Let's pause for a moment.

  63. On Wednesdays, Enzo and Ezra come over, and lovely Cindy

  64. watches them at the house, but emphatic amaze. The trouble is,

  65. I love Enzo and I love Ezra, but they bring

  66. their dog Bruno, and we got to watch Bruno. And

  67. you know where this is going. I don't they call

  68. this a bernadoodle. He's a stupid dumba doodle because that

  69. guy jumped on the oven.

  70. And ate my pizza.

  71. So if anybody like a free bernadoodo, I'm gonna get

  72. rid of that dog. And my son's up there in

  73. the front row. I said, don't ever bring that dog by,

  74. don't ever.

  75. Bring him again. He's gonna come missing. I got my

  76. labs back there.

  77. He gonna meet the homies for the gangsters from mounta Ballot.

  78. Next time he comes over, that little diva duva, little

  79. preppy dog, he gonna get introduced some little homie Jesus,

  80. some chocolate brown's that are jump on him.

  81. Anyways, Oh wow, I got a star from scratch. Here

  82. we go. See you were so serious, you.

  83. Thought I was really angry sinning my life or some anyways.

  84. Joshua the thirteenth Chapter, Joshua the thirteenth Chapter. Father, bless

  85. our time in the word today. We just thank you

  86. for the Word of God, and we appreciate all that

  87. the Word will minister to us with practicality. That we

  88. could go home and live out tonight even tomorrow, to

  89. better serve you in Jesus name. Let's stand for the

  90. reading of God's word.

  91. Here we go.

  92. We're in Joshua, and we're in chapter thirteen, in the

  93. middle part of the chapter, and we're going to highlight

  94. just a few verses. It says this to the tribe

  95. of Rubens descendants by their clans, Moses gave the border

  96. of the Rubenites was the Jordan and its plains. This

  97. was the inheritance of the Rubenites by their clans, with

  98. cities and their settlements. To the tribe of the Gadites

  99. by their clans. Moses gave this as their torritory, territory

  100. Jazzar and all the cities of Gilead, and half the

  101. land of the Amorites or are near Rappa. This was

  102. the inheritance of the Gadites by the clans, with the

  103. cities and their settlements. And to have to tribe of Manassa,

  104. that is, to have the tribe of Manassa's descendants by

  105. their clans.

  106. Moses gave. These were the portions.

  107. Moses gave them on the plains of Moab beyond the

  108. Jordan east of Jericho. But Moses did not give a

  109. portion to the tribe of Levi. The Lord, the God

  110. of Israel was their inheritance, just as he had promised them.

  111. You may be seated. You know.

  112. I have a brother who's eighteen months younger than me.

  113. His name is Brian.

  114. And if you grow up in a home with siblings,

  115. you are always trying to measure yourself against each other.

  116. And you're always.

  117. Trying to make sure that your parents equally proportion out

  118. the presence, the foods, the desserts, the clothing, the rooms,

  119. the beds, whatever it is. You're trying to make sure

  120. that nobody gets ripped off, like why did my brother

  121. get a bit more dessert than me?

  122. Kind of thing, you know.

  123. And then you're measuring yourself by your brother, WHI is

  124. he taller than me and I'm shorter than him. You're

  125. always trying to measure yourself. So we had chores, and

  126. the amazing I had to do the front yard and

  127. Brian got to do the backyard. And I used to

  128. think that I still today believe that I got the

  129. raw end of the deal, because the front yard used

  130. to take so much longer than the backyard, and my

  131. dad required so much more of the front yard because.

  132. It was so visible.

  133. Where the backyard my brother did just simply mode it

  134. and that was it. Where I had to edge, I

  135. had to pull weeds, I had to hedge, I had

  136. to do all the extra and I used to think

  137. and that I got the wrong end of the deal. Well,

  138. sometimes if you're not watchful and mindful, those childhood competition

  139. and measuring and proportioning out can come into our adult

  140. lives where we now compare ourselves to someone else, who

  141. they married, the kind of house, what city they live in,

  142. the level of income they have. In the Body of

  143. Christ and the church, we're measuring ourselves and comparing ourselves

  144. with their talents and their gifts and how God uses them.

  145. And sometimes that could get us to a place in

  146. our hearts where we believe in entitlement, that we deserve

  147. something just because or it makes us unappreciative and we

  148. are not content or satisfied with what God gave us,

  149. And sometimes we think that we are less than or

  150. getting ripped off because I've been through a divorce and

  151. you haven't been through a divorce, and my wife was

  152. unfaithful to me, and your wife has not been unfaithful

  153. to you. So I got the raw end of the deal,

  154. and your children are serving the Lord, and my children

  155. are running the streets living like the devil. I got

  156. the wrong end of the deal.

  157. I've been.

  158. Passed over on three promotions. And look at you. You've

  159. gotten three promotions. And we graduated the same year. We

  160. have the same college background, but you make tw I'm

  161. just kind of preaching right now, and we get caught

  162. up in that comparison and that measuring out and that

  163. proportioning out. Let me give you the last image and

  164. then I'm gonna launch this. Let's just say we had

  165. a giant piece of your favorite pie. Yell out to

  166. me your favorite kind of pie.

  167. Apple pie, heard, key, Oh jeez key, lime.

  168. Pie, cheesecake, sweet potato.

  169. Okay, listen, We're.

  170. Gonna portion that pie out by cutting it, Okay, all right.

  171. And the reality is is that you have the option

  172. of cutting your own piece or turning the knife over

  173. to God and say, God, you cut my piece for me.

  174. And that's the difference in maturity. Most of us are

  175. gonna take the knife and cut our peace based upon

  176. our stomach's need, our wants, and our likes and as you.

  177. But you're in the Kingdom of God.

  178. God asks you take the knife out of your hands,

  179. put it in my hands.

  180. I know the portion that is best.

  181. For you, so that you don't get obese. And I'm

  182. talking about obese naturally. I'm talking about sluggish and fat

  183. spiritually in your emotions.

  184. So let's talk about what we just read in Joshua.

  185. Now we have the allocations of land mass as they

  186. have entered into the land of Canaan and have begun

  187. to conquer enemies. Now these twelve tribes twelve like twelve families,

  188. begin to divide it up based upon what Moses promised.

  189. But Joshua will now deliver it to them.

  190. It was a promise from Moses, and now Joshua would

  191. begin to cut up that mass of land and begin

  192. to allocate. And you saw a few of those allocations

  193. that were given in the land or the territory or

  194. the inheritance. Here's the first thought that I like to

  195. look at today that teaches us what we just read.

  196. After the conquering of the land, after you conquer the land,

  197. after you conquer your enemies, after you conquer the opposition,

  198. now comes payday, now comes the reward.

  199. Now comes the paycheck. But please see the order.

  200. The order is this, you must first work for it

  201. before you get the reward.

  202. You must first invest in it.

  203. You must put for the time and the energy, the sowing,

  204. the conquering. You must be obedient first. You must be

  205. responsible first. You must live differently first. Now you get

  206. to rest. Now you get to reap, You get to inherit.

  207. Now you get to retire. Now you get peace. We

  208. get in trouble when we do it in reverse. We

  209. get in trouble when we're doing it in reverse. We

  210. can't inherit if we first not invested.

  211. And that's what we need.

  212. To tell this young generation that wants to make million

  213. dollars on being.

  214. A social.

  215. Popularity on social media and just have a X amount

  216. of million, and I'm gonna say they can't. But the

  217. odds are just so limited, and so people want to

  218. work less than ever before but get the big paycheck.

  219. And that goes against the grain in which hot God

  220. created us.

  221. Work is not a curse. Say some of you don't

  222. believe that.

  223. That's why you don't work, because you believe it's a curse.

  224. Work is very self fulfilling, it's validating It allows me

  225. to use my talents and my gifts. I realize there

  226. are people that don't like their jobs. That's a reality.

  227. But once you work at a job that fixs your gift,

  228. mix your purpose, you feel like you're adding to society,

  229. then it's very, very self fulfilling. But I want to

  230. just share with you. The Bible says this, do not

  231. be deceived. God is not mocked. Whatsoever a man sows

  232. that will he reap. So if you are not reaping

  233. what you want in your marriage, or in your health,

  234. or in your finances, then you've not sowed enough. Don't

  235. expect just blessings to come because you say a prayer.

  236. You have to work toward that. You have to invest that.

  237. You have to sow that. Nobody loses natural weight overnight.

  238. It takes a long time. Sometimes. I know you want

  239. to just shoot ozepic in you and lose it in

  240. thirty days.

  241. But that's not healthy.

  242. God, that guy's always up in my business. I don't

  243. know why he's always up in my business. The Bible says,

  244. if you are willing and obedient, you're gonna eat the

  245. good of the land.

  246. God wants you to eat the good of the land.

  247. He wants you to enjoy life.

  248. He wants you to have a fruitful life, a bountiful life,

  249. a life of increase. But you have to sew by

  250. being willing and obedient. The Bible says in Genesis, so

  251. the heavens and the earth and everything in them were completed.

  252. And on the seventh day God completed his what his

  253. work that he had done, and he rested on the

  254. seventh day. Notice it didn't say he rested, then he worked.

  255. You work, then you can rest. You work, and then

  256. you can play. You don't play and then work. Say

  257. they're three amens. Because I'm just I'm not sure that

  258. you understand this. The Bible says, you will surely eat

  259. what your hands have worked for, you will be happy,

  260. and it'll go well.

  261. That's what God wants for every person.

  262. He wants us to be happy and he wants it

  263. to go well with us. But we've got to put

  264. in the time and the work. So they had to

  265. put in the work of conquering those enemies. They had

  266. to put in the work of obeying Joshua, their leader.

  267. They had to walk the land, and they had to

  268. go through all that area, all the energy, all the emotion.

  269. But now they're beginning to have an inheritance. They're beginning

  270. to having an inheritance, and that's what God wants for us.

  271. The second thing I learned from this is that God

  272. creates boundaries for them, divisions for them, allotments and allocations.

  273. And that's what God does for us. So there'll be

  274. a little map here to just show you. Wow, that's

  275. well anyways, Just see all the colored areas there. I

  276. thought it'd be a little bigger than that, but that's

  277. all the tribes in there, and that was the land

  278. that was being allotted to them. So the map reveals Israel.

  279. But this broadened land were twelve tribes where the land

  280. of Canaan it consists of Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and

  281. the tip of Egypt. All of that land was Israel. Well,

  282. I just gave you a revelation there. All of that

  283. land Israel owned. The twelve tribes own that land. But

  284. God made allocation of that land. He gave boundaries. What

  285. am I trying to tell you? A life without boundaries

  286. leads to chaos, feuding and fighting. God wants you to

  287. have freedom, but he wants you to live a life

  288. of boundaries.

  289. Boundaries are good.

  290. I need boundaries for relationships or you're gonna get burned.

  291. I need boundaries on spending mon my money, or I'm going.

  292. To go in debt.

  293. I need boundaries with my emotions would I think on

  294. or I'm gonna get in trouble. I need boundaries on

  295. my mouth. I need boundaries for my eyes. I'm talking

  296. to somebody today. I need boundaries for my ears. I

  297. need boundaries for my hands. This is not to control

  298. your life. This is to protect your life. And God

  299. divided boundaries. He said, Reuben, you go over there. God,

  300. you go over and if you look at it, there

  301. were different sizes of acreage that were given. And God

  302. could have said, that's not fair. Why did Ruben get

  303. so much land? God, you're not a just god. God,

  304. You're not a fair God.

  305. Yeah he is.

  306. He gave you some land, he gave you health, he

  307. gave you a marriage, he gave you breath. What are

  308. you doing comparing to somebody else in land, disbursements, in inheritances,

  309. in blessings, or whatever that might be.

  310. In that.

  311. God challenges us to always live in boundaries, or you

  312. and I are going to get in trouble. There's boundaries

  313. that you and I have to live in our lives. See,

  314. there's something called the boundary of sex. Sex is wonderful.

  315. Sex is to be enjoyed by two married people. Oh

  316. your sould fashioned, you, old gray hair, preacher, wrinklely face. Well,

  317. then do whatever you want to do and see if

  318. there's problems. If you're blessed, then there's no problems there.

  319. Then maybe you're you're smarter than the Bible and God.

  320. But God puts boundaries within the sexual relationship. It's between

  321. a husband and a wife.

  322. That's the bout. You have as much sex.

  323. As you want nine and days, seven days a week,

  324. fourteen times a day, the upside down purple Hippopotamus if

  325. you want, but it's done within the boundaries of a marriage.

  326. And this is not a sex talk, or then I'd

  327. would tell you why there are consequences. But I think

  328. you're smart enough to discern that Bible said it's okay

  329. to be angry, but I'm gonna put boundary around it.

  330. You cannot sin. You should be upset, sometimes you should

  331. be mad. Sometimes none wrong with that. It's when it's

  332. carried too far. And now there's hatred, and now there's violence,

  333. and now you're putting your hands on somebody, and now

  334. you're hurting somebody. Boundaries alcohol. See, you've been waiting for

  335. me to talk. Now, there's boundaries. Be not drunk with

  336. wine where there is excess. Now, I'm a person that

  337. doesn't drink it, but I don't have a problem with

  338. someone who drinks alcohol as long as they don't use

  339. it to be intoxicated, because that's the boundary God put

  340. around it. Now, I know some of you are real religious.

  341. Pastor you were my best preacher, and now you're not

  342. because you said that, Well, what do you think Jesus

  343. when he changed water and oning, what do you think

  344. was non alcoholic?

  345. Is that what you really think?

  346. In a Jewish custom that made wine that was like

  347. their water to drink in that culture, he just said, Oh,

  348. they are going to come to people two thousand years

  349. from now that live in California that go to Patria,

  350. and they're going to be offended.

  351. So I'm gonna just make non alcoholic wine.

  352. That's more of a miracle than making it with alcohol

  353. through the fermentation process.

  354. There's boundaries. Nothing wrong with a man having a.

  355. Female a man who's married having a female as a friend.

  356. But there's boundaries. Come on.

  357. What you're doing with you're married and you're with a

  358. woman at nine o'clock at night, ten o'clock at night?

  359. Are you stupid? Are you dumb?

  360. Is there something up here that's wrong? What are you

  361. sharing your private information with somebody of the opposites?

  362. So you're going beyond the boundary.

  363. And when you go beyond the boundary, you're gonna reap

  364. what you sew and you're gonna get in trouble. So

  365. God gave them boundaries. That was my introduction, And now

  366. I'm gonna preach. Here we go, So here we go.

  367. Psal I'm sixteen, says this Lord. You are my portion

  368. and my cup of blessing. You hold my future. My

  369. flesh and my heart may fail, but God is my

  370. strength and my heart my portion forever.

  371. The Lord is my portion.

  372. I have promised to keep your words and lamentations. The

  373. Lord is my portion. Therefore I put my hope in him.

  374. The third thing and the last thing is God saying

  375. I'm your portion. I'm the one who allocates your blessing.

  376. I'm the one who allocates your inheritances. I'm the one

  377. who allocates your your possessions.

  378. I'm the one who.

  379. Does it, and especially for Levi and the priesthood. Notice

  380. it says that no land was allocated to Levi. God said,

  381. because I'm going to take care of Levi.

  382. Levi does my work.

  383. Levi's in charge of the tabernacle and the and the temple.

  384. And that's why all you other.

  385. Tribes will take a tenth of your income, the tenth

  386. of your earnings, the tenth of your protest, and you'll

  387. bring it to the house of the Lord so that

  388. the priest Levi will be taken care of. That's where

  389. all of this comes from. And so you and I

  390. have to recognize that God is our portion. And that's

  391. where that picture of that pie comes. And give God

  392. the knife and let him put the portion on your

  393. plate instead of stop serving yourself. So here's the thought

  394. I want to break down to you. They'll be on

  395. the screen. God was teaching them that I am the righteous,

  396. just and fair portioner. I'm not an unjust portioner. You

  397. may think that someone else is getting more than you,

  398. but not in my eyes. You may think you're being

  399. left behind and forgotten, but you're not by me.

  400. You may walk around.

  401. With a chip on your shoulder, but if you look

  402. to me as your portion, I'm the one that provides.

  403. So here's the way it's gonna be broken down as

  404. you look at it. God is the one who will

  405. give you your share. God is the one who will give

  406. your serving size. God is the one who will give

  407. you your peace. And God is the one that will.

  408. Give you your part.

  409. God is the one that gives the portion its size.

  410. It's within his heart to give that. He said to one,

  411. I'm gonna give one talent to two. I'm gonna give

  412. two talent into the third, I'm gonna give five talent.

  413. Now that one talent could say, that's wrong, that's unjust.

  414. Why are you giving someone else five when you only

  415. gave me one? The two could say, why are you

  416. giving me two when you gave that God five? But

  417. God is the allocator. And listen, Even if you've got

  418. one talent, listen, if God bless your one talent, you

  419. will be more prosperous, you will be more influential, You

  420. will be more blessed than somebody who has a hundred

  421. talent outside of God's outside of.

  422. God giving it to it. And God favoring it.

  423. So you and I have to realize that, no matter

  424. what you have today, or no matter what you don't

  425. have today, start looking to God as the portion of

  426. your life.

  427. And I'll describe what that means. Now it'll go. The

  428. first one will be on the screen whom it talks about,

  429. God is my portion.

  430. That means you don't have to worry about getting ripped

  431. off or overlooked when you truly believe.

  432. This is a real maturing message. Now, if you truly.

  433. Believe that God is your portion, because you said it,

  434. then you can never get ripped off. You can never

  435. be overlooked and forgotten. But if you're in charge and

  436. you're the one who gives portune, then you might be.

  437. You might have gotten ripped off, you might have been forgotten.

  438. But in God's kingdom, he says, if I watch over

  439. the birds of the air, and I watch over the

  440. lilies of the valley, and I work, they don't work

  441. and toil, but I provide for them. What makes you

  442. think you're being overlooked and ripped off?

  443. It just may not be your time. God may be

  444. asking you to learn how to wait on him.

  445. He may be telling you you want it, but you

  446. can't handle it. You don't have the character to back

  447. it up. And the enemy's gonna stew it, steal it

  448. from you, or you're gonna backslide the moment you get it.

  449. So I already know what you're gonna do with it.

  450. I'd rather your heart be right with me. I'd rather

  451. you stay safe, be faithful to your wife. I don't know,

  452. but you and I have to understand that in the

  453. Kingdom of God, you and I should not have to

  454. worry or get mad or fret that you're being forgotten

  455. or overlooked or passed up by anything in your life.

  456. The second point here about God being your portion. You

  457. don't have to be jealous or insecure or watch this,

  458. we're playing with the word walk in compare a sin.

  459. The actual word is compare a son.

  460. But the reality is is that when you get caught

  461. up in comparing, it's a sin. Because here's what Second

  462. Corinthians says the ten chapter. However, when they measure themselves

  463. with themselves and comparing themselves amongst one another, we should

  464. never ever be measuring ourselves against each other, comparing ourselves

  465. against another. They are without understanding become you're not smart.

  466. You're not smart.

  467. Lord, Why do they have? Why don't I have? Why

  468. do they get to live there? Why don't I get

  469. to live there? Why do you seemingly use them the

  470. way you use them and don't use me? God said,

  471. then you don't believe that I'm your portion, and you

  472. think you're getting ripped off, and you think that I'm

  473. gonna unjust God, and I'm not.

  474. God would tell you I'm not.

  475. So you don't have to be jealous of anybody's blessing.

  476. And you know, again, if it's a believer, then you

  477. should be rejoicing. You should be celebrating that my brother

  478. and sister and the Lord and God's favoring them. So

  479. that means the promises of God are real and the

  480. principles of God are true.

  481. And then I could continue to be encouraged by.

  482. That, because again, in running, you ran this, I think

  483. I can run it. Now you swim this, I think

  484. I could swim it. Now you bit this, I think

  485. I could. So you going in front of me tells

  486. me I'm next. I could do it. God is not

  487. a respect of persons. This might happen for me. Then

  488. if it's a sinner, who's prospers. Why would you ever

  489. end me a sinner, someone who doesn't have a covenant

  490. with God, someone who.

  491. Got their wealth outside of God.

  492. It doesn't have God's favor on it doesn't have God's

  493. blessing on it.

  494. And listen with what's going on.

  495. In media today with all these celebrities, it should be

  496. an awakening moment. Why am I jealous over sinners in

  497. the world they're living in. They may have eaten at

  498. the finest restaurant, drove in.

  499. The biggest cars, and it make more money than ever, but.

  500. They're im moral, They're ungodly, they're going to jail, they're

  501. being persecuted. And I was ending that they're on their

  502. seventh wife with their ninety nine children from their mama,

  503. Mama mama.

  504. And I go home to my wife, to my three children.

  505. I get my whole paycheck. I don't have to pay childs,

  506. but I don't have to pay aliba. I'm not waiting

  507. for someone to knock on the door and say.

  508. You my daddy. Listen, why would I ever end me

  509. a sinner?

  510. Many of them don't live to be old, eat, drink

  511. and be merry, and God's blessing is a long life.

  512. Come on, we need to wake up.

  513. We need to wake up to what.

  514. Why am I so jealous?

  515. Whatever they might be, no matter what they look like,

  516. you don't have to compare.

  517. You don't have to be jealous in any form or fashion.

  518. God is my portion. Here's the third principle here I

  519. want to look at. Don't doubt that God can take

  520. care of you and provide for you. Don't let that

  521. doubt come in that makes you think that God can

  522. provide for you, especially in places of lack, poverty, inflation, difficulty, recessions, layoffs, sorrows.

  523. And hardships.

  524. That's when we really really question whether God is a

  525. provider in the portion of my life. And that's when

  526. you need to believe the most that He is in

  527. your life. The reality is is God's got resources that

  528. the economy and man doesn't have. God has reserves that

  529. the economy and man doesn't have. God has reserves. God

  530. has reservoirs, and God has resources that this world's.

  531. Economy does not have.

  532. God wants to remind us if out of a wilderness,

  533. I created manna for my children to eat, and out

  534. of a wilderness I brought forth water in a desert

  535. and in a wilderness I could bring forth, Quail. What

  536. makes you think that I can't provide for you or

  537. can give you a portion for what you need. Though

  538. the economy is though they're downsizing, those jobs are being eliminated.

  539. Though they're eliminating the blue collar worker jobs, entry jobs.

  540. Kids are coming out of college with degrees and can't

  541. get a job. You're not of this world. You have

  542. a covenant with God and need to know how to

  543. stand on the word of God and believe God. I

  544. remember he didn't know how to say this, but I

  545. remember my son passing Nathan, and he went and got

  546. his master's degree from APU and thought he'd be an

  547. elementary school teacher and was so excited about that.

  548. And we wanted that for him.

  549. But the reality was this was many many years ago.

  550. They weren't hiring teachers. There was a shut down and

  551. a lockdown on how I don't know if you remember

  552. how many.

  553. Years ago was that, Nathan. Eighteen years ago, they weren't hiring.

  554. They were not.

  555. I mean, now they desperate, but back then you'd have

  556. to go far away to find a job. He didn't

  557. know what to do with a master's degree. And I

  558. told him, you know what, we just have an opening

  559. in our children's church. Why don't you just come and

  560. serve in children's church until maybe a job opens up.

  561. Eighteen years later, he's never left. God provides in so

  562. many different ways that are not even in your equation

  563. and on your agenda. How God will work things out

  564. though he's never used and he didn't pay for it.

  565. Me and Cindy paid for his college tuition. But I'm

  566. blessed that he's in the Kingdom of God, his family's

  567. in the Kingdom of God, and he's serving God. So

  568. who's counting dollars and things of that nature when there's

  569. so much other value that's being done in the Kingdom

  570. of God. So the reality is is that it doesn't matter.

  571. It really doesn't matter. And I know that's hard for

  572. you to believe, but it doesn't. The economy doesn't matter,

  573. the economics doesn't matter, the recession doesn't matter, the lack

  574. of jobs does it. But God is your portion, and

  575. you need to start exercising your faith and trusting God

  576. and start confessing that and start believing that.

  577. That God will provide in that way.

  578. You know, I talked about that Quail miracle that was

  579. found in numbers. The eleventh chapter, and it's an amazing

  580. story if you want to read it. The children of

  581. Israel were missing the barbecue from Egypt.

  582. They were tired of the vegan diet. It's a joke,

  583. but I could see jokes aren't working tonight.

  584. So anyways, they said, we want some quail, or I

  585. mean we want meat. We want meat, And so God said, listen,

  586. I'm going to provide I'm going to provide you some quail.

  587. And the reality of it is is I'm gonna bring

  588. them so low to the ground they're only gonna fly

  589. three feet in the air, so you can knock them

  590. up side the heads so you can eat them. And

  591. they're gonna be fifteen to twenty miles in the north,

  592. that's how many they're gonna be, fifteen to twenty miles

  593. of quail to the southeast west fifteen to twenty miles

  594. of three feet of quail. And all you have to

  595. do is get your club out of the boom and

  596. put on the barbecue.

  597. Boop, put it on the barbecue.

  598. And it says, I'm not gonna allow the supply to

  599. be for one day. I'm not gonna allow it for

  600. to be for two days. I'm not gonna allow it

  601. to be for four days, five days, and in either

  602. seven days.

  603. I'm gonna give you quail for an entire month.

  604. When originally God said I'm gonna provide. The story says

  605. that Moses said, Lord, if we kill all our cattle

  606. and all our herds and fish every day, how can

  607. we feed so many? And that's when the Lord say,

  608. is my arm's so shortened that he cannot provide.

  609. God stood up, like, who puts you in charge? Big

  610. bad Moses.

  611. You think I'm limited and all I could supply for

  612. my people? And the Bible says there was six hundred

  613. thousand men.

  614. That's just men.

  615. You had the wives, and you had their children, and

  616. that's how many people ate and God provided for So

  617. what do you think that God can't provide for you

  618. and that God can't take care of you in your life.

  619. One of my favorite heroes is this guy who lived

  620. in the eighteen hundred is. His name was George Mueller,

  621. and I loved all George and if you study him

  622. and read about him, it's just a man of faith.

  623. In Bristol, England, he was in charge of an orphanage.

  624. And it's been one of my greatest passions, and I've

  625. said it for years. I don't know if I'll ever

  626. be able to do that. I would just love to

  627. have an orphanage. I would just love with all my hair.

  628. I know I have to get into legislation and change

  629. foster care system, but I always said that Kindred hospital

  630. we'd buy and I'd make it an orphanage, and I

  631. take care of those little children that don't have mommies

  632. and daddies, and I'd bring them to church and I'd

  633. ask you to take them home on Sunday and feed

  634. them and love them and play with them, and.

  635. Then I send them to our school to go to school.

  636. Monday through Friday. Those little old and George had an orphanages.

  637. And again it was times of recessions and financial lack,

  638. and they didn't know where they would feed some of

  639. those children sometimes. One day the nurse, the maid came

  640. to George and said, we don't got no food. I

  641. checked all the cabinets, there's not anything there. He said,

  642. prepare all the plates. God will provide. She said, well

  643. did you What did you say? I said, put all

  644. the forks plates on there and tell the children to

  645. sit down.

  646. God will provide. I prayed, and I ask God for

  647. a miracle.

  648. And the next moment, when she said they're all setting down,

  649. and they're all their plates are the forks that they're

  650. ready to eat? There was a knock on the door

  651. and the baker said, you know what, God woke me

  652. up last night. I told me to make extra you

  653. need any bread? He said, yeah, come on, in lay

  654. it on the children, right he left. Not a minute later,

  655. all of a sudden, the door on the knock. It

  656. was the milk man. He said, I was delivering my

  657. milk on the horse cart and it broke down in

  658. front of your orphanage.

  659. And I don't want this milk to go to waste.

  660. Can you use it? God'll do that.

  661. He's your portion that makes up for the difference of

  662. this world and your inadequacies that I am under I

  663. am so underqualified to have a church this size. I'm

  664. so underqualified, it's amazing. The closer you get to me,

  665. you'll get more scared and say, oh my god, that

  666. guy's not too smart.

  667. Is here.

  668. Hombout one and a half junior college education And we

  669. built over one hundred million dollars in assets. I didn't

  670. graduate from Stamford. I ran an organization with well over

  671. hundreds of employees. What do you one and a half

  672. years junior college, twenty million dollar budget?

  673. How do you do that? God is my portion.

  674. Where I've lacked, natural shortcomings and inadequacies, God made I

  675. didn't have the strength to go through stage four kidney

  676. cancer that was terminal. I'm as frail and weak as

  677. the next guy. I felt the pain of it, the

  678. torment of it in my mind. That God's grace was

  679. sufficient and he made up the difference. I was promised

  680. a church in Pomona. It was taken from me. But

  681. there's a church in Pomona that God.

  682. Gave me that said, when you when you take over

  683. that church and.

  684. Become the senior pastor of I want to bless you

  685. with this house. They never gave me a house, but

  686. I live in a great house today.

  687. God is my portion.

  688. Stop looking to man, your boss, your husband, your.

  689. Wife, the president. God is your portion. He'll make up

  690. the difference.

  691. In the recession, the hardship, the difficulty is God's arms

  692. shortened that it cannot provide.

  693. For his people. God gets very upset.

  694. When you start doubting that he can do that in

  695. your life. The reality, let me give you a quote,

  696. as I got a land in this plane.

  697. Here's the quote.

  698. George says this, the longer I go on in this service,

  699. the more I find that prayer and faith can overcome

  700. every difficulty. That's what George Mueller said. Can you go

  701. ahead and give the next quote up there? With God,

  702. it may this is huge right now, guys, and excuse

  703. the misspelling enough to recognize it's smith smell. But with God,

  704. it may sometimes temporarily look like your life is not

  705. fair or equal or portioned out. But God will make

  706. the adjustments, right, Okay. So I'm not telling you that

  707. sometimes it doesn't look right. It does okay, sometimes it

  708. just doesn't look fair, right, okay, But here's the here's

  709. the reality. God will make the adjustments. It doesn't look

  710. fair that David is being overlooked.

  711. I'll make the adjustments. David.

  712. Just hang on there, Joseph, you feel like you're being overlooked,

  713. God's gonna make the adjustment. You're gonna have the last

  714. say so in this Okay, here's the real ruth. I

  715. know this is tough times right now, but God, God's

  716. gonna make the adjust Mordecai, listen to me, Mordecai, hang

  717. in there. I'm gonna wake up the king in the

  718. middle of the night. He's gonna go back and look

  719. at the history logs and he's gonna see who is

  720. the person that exposed the villain and that was gonna

  721. take his life out.

  722. And he realized it was you, Mordecai, that exposed that assassin.

  723. And he's gonna say, did Mordecai ever get a blessing

  724. for telling me that the assassin was after me and

  725. that no, he didn't. Well, we're gonna bless him now.

  726. God hasn't forgotten. God will not overlook you. God will

  727. not bypass you. It just temporarily looks like that, but

  728. God will make the adjustment at the end. Come on, Jacob,

  729. stop fighting now.

  730. I know you live father in law who.

  731. Rips you off all the time, say I'm gonna give

  732. you this wife, and he don't give you his daughter.

  733. Here's your Leah Kyle's eyes.

  734. I know you got a tough what break there, brother,

  735. work another seven years you get Rachel.

  736. That's a good blessing.

  737. Now now I need you to work another six years,

  738. and I'm gonna bless you, said, listen, listens. Enough of

  739. you blessing me because you change my wages ten times.

  740. You owe me money, been ripping me off. I'm gonna

  741. go to God, and God is gonna be my portion.

  742. You just need to agree with it. Every sheep that's spotted,

  743. it's mine. Every speckled sheep is mine. Every striped sheep,

  744. it's mine. They don't exist. God gave him an idea.

  745. When the lambs and the goats are drinking their water,

  746. pilled some branches and pill them.

  747. And they'll see spots. And when they look at the spots,

  748. then they made.

  749. They'll burnt the spotted ones, the speckled ones, And all

  750. of a sudden he has a herd that's bigger than

  751. his father in law lay in. God knows how to

  752. make the adjustments. I promise you you'll win. I don't

  753. even know where. I'll just give me whatever's on the screen.

  754. And don't think anyone else is the source of your life.

  755. God is the source of your life. My sufficiency is

  756. out of myself to think anything of myself, sech A

  757. Corinth in three five. But my sufficiency is absolutely of God.

  758. He's the source of my life. So that's closing this out.

  759. Don't so don't squander God's portion, but steward it. Well,

  760. learn how to steward.

  761. What God gave you.

  762. You steward it by wisdom, make smart decisions. You steward

  763. it with generosity, tithe. You steward it with faithfulness, holiness, integrity,

  764. time management, responsibility, and obedience. Now, what God has blessed

  765. you in the portion will not be lost, and it

  766. will not be stolen. You will now be able to

  767. inherit it, and you will now leave it as an

  768. inheritance your whether that's your faith, whether that is substance,

  769. whether that is influence, whether that's your prayers, or whether

  770. that is property. It's the way that God intended. And

  771. I finished this out. It's not we are not to

  772. live beneath the portion that God has allowed it to us.

  773. Could you put that statement on, let's not live beneath

  774. our portion. That's called ignorance. Well I don't deserve and

  775. I'm a nobody. Well then you know what, somebody else

  776. will be blessed. Then somebody else will be blessed. Then

  777. don't live beneath your portion. The word bless has found

  778. three hundred times in the Bible. The word blessing has

  779. found five hundred times in the Bible, and the word

  780. blessed has found three hundred times in the Bible. Blessed

  781. means to be happy, favored, prosperous, and have good fortune.

  782. God wants his children blessed period.

  783. So do not live beneath your portion, but also do

  784. not live above your portion. That's arrogance, and Philippians that

  785. I have no more time. In fourth chapter says, learn

  786. how to be content with what God has blessed you with.

  787. Learn how to be to be thankful for that little

  788. Jelope car you drove up, and be thankful for that

  789. little one bedroom apartment you live in right now. God's

  790. not done with you yet. God's something, But it starts

  791. off with let me go into your garage right now

  792. and take to see how while you do, I mean,

  793. go in that little Jelope car and see how clean

  794. it is right now? How could God ever bless you

  795. with something better When you don't know how to steward

  796. the blessings of God, you know, know how to take.

  797. Care of it, It'll be lost.

  798. And it'll be squandered. So in conclusion, I say this

  799. to you, how will God increase my portion? Can God

  800. increase the portion on your life? Whatever portion you have now?

  801. Could God increase the portion?

  802. Yeah?

  803. He can't. And it's with the answers I gave you.

  804. It's wisdom, it's generosity and its faithfulness. And whatever you

  805. have today, God will bless it with even more if

  806. if you walk in wisdom, if you're generous, and if

  807. you remain faithful, God will enlarge your portion. Father, I

  808. thank you for the message you gave us today. I

  809. pray it resonates in the hearts of every single one

  810. of us. Lord today, I thank you for the boundaries

  811. that we need to set in our lives. Thank you

  812. that we need to put the work in first before

  813. we could reap the harvest. And thank you for the

  814. lessons that we've learned so that we don't have to

  815. be jealous or walk in competition, or be fearful or

  816. envious about anything that anyone has or even the economy.

  817. We can never ever be overlooked. You will always make

  818. the adjustment. Though it temporary looks like we're passed up,

  819. We're never passed up by you.

  820. God.

  821. We honor you in Jesus's name.

  822. Amen.

  823. We're getting ready to leave this church tonight. Thank you

  824. so much for coming to church. You know this week,

  825. this week Ozzy Osborne died. This week Malcolm Jamar Warner died. Huh,

  826. you're not going to live forever. I'm not going to

  827. live forever. Sometimes it's expected and sometimes it is absolutely unexpected.

  828. I think for Ozzy it was expected. You could see

  829. the deterioration of his life. He had his last concert,

  830. so he was able to whatever. But for Malcolm it

  831. wasn't expected. He went on vacation, he went into the

  832. ocean in Costa Rica. Sometimes it happens, you see, you

  833. know what's going to happen, and then sometimes you don't

  834. know what's going to happen.

  835. I want to tell you this, Where where do where do?

  836. Where does one go when they when they die? See,

  837. here's the the theories or philosophies of the world. I

  838. go six feet under into an eternal rest, and it ends.

  839. That's that's it. Life is over.

  840. But yet the Bible says, it is appointed under men

  841. wants to die, and after that is judgment you live again.

  842. So going into the ground six feet under your your

  843. mortal body, the flesh decays, that stage of skelet in

  844. your corpse, but the real you, spirit and soul go somewhere.

  845. The second thing that people believe in is they'll go

  846. to a holding place and somebody will pray them out

  847. of that holding place, and if enough prayer are lifted

  848. up for this person, then eventually they'll go to heaven.

  849. Where does that come from? The Bible says it's appointed

  850. in the men and wants to die and boom, after

  851. this is judgment, there's no purgatory or holding place. I

  852. know I'm going to come back recarnated as a Bernice

  853. doodle dog. I'm going to come back as King Arthur.

  854. I'm going to come back as a beetle or a

  855. tree or a person that's real. Where does that come from? No,

  856. it's appointed in the men wants to die. And after

  857. this is I know I will become karma. I'll come

  858. back to the energy of this world. It's appointed in

  859. the men once to die, and after this I'll come

  860. back as a spirit and I'll just float around like

  861. a ghost, and I'll live in a mansion and I'll

  862. haunt people who.

  863. Live there, scare them.

  864. Now, it's appointed in the men wants to die and

  865. after this is judgment. For Ozzy Osbourne, Boom, the moment

  866. he closed his eyes, Boom, he was in the presence

  867. of God, close his eyes, live again. For Malcolm Boom,

  868. he closed his eyes and boom.

  869. He lived again.

  870. And for you, it will happen the same way. And

  871. the person that you look at will either be your

  872. friend or he will be a stranger to you. You

  873. can't wait to hear the words out of his mouth,

  874. you can't wait to experience what he's gonna give you,

  875. or everything is a mystery filled with uncertainty. You're shaking

  876. in your boots and your knees are knocking in fear

  877. like never before, because your wife's not there, your kids

  878. are not there, your car's not here, your gun's not here,

  879. your friends aren't here.

  880. You're there all by yourself. And you have never ever been.

  881. As exclusively by yourself, with no cell phone, no music,

  882. no nothing but you and God.

  883. What are you gonna do?

  884. Well, that's why you give your life to Jesus today. So,

  885. whether it is like Malcolm, or it is like Ozzie,

  886. or it's one hundred years from now.

  887. I know what's gonna happen. I don't fear it.

  888. I want to live as long as I can, but

  889. when that time comes, I'm ready.

  890. I'm ready.

  891. This is my reward. It's called heaven. It's eternal life.

  892. It's the blessings that God is ready to give to me.

  893. And the reality is, is your best day on this earth,

  894. whatever that looks like, your very very best day, is

  895. the worst day you would ever have in heaven.

  896. It's just so good. His is so good. I used

  897. to play pool with.

  898. A guy named Darnell, and I loved him so much.

  899. And this was at my former church. I worked so

  900. hard I never got to go home sometimes, and he

  901. come from work and.

  902. He just he loved to play pools. So he treats

  903. me to a meal. I didn't make nothing. He take

  904. me up to eat and he played pool with me.

  905. And he asked me one time, pastor diego, do you

  906. think there's pool in heaven.

  907. I said, Darnell, if you like it, there's pool in heaven.

  908. He died shortly after that. I want you to go

  909. to heaven if you want to accept Jesus for the

  910. first time, if you want to rededicate your life to

  911. the Lord. Everything is going well. You're born in the spirit,

  912. but you're not filled with the spirit. You want everything

  913. that God has for you. When I count the three,

  914. you raise your hand his eyes. I'm raising my hand

  915. because that's how Jesus died on across mar beaten and

  916. naked in front of the world. He didn't die in

  917. a dark alley where no one could see him. I

  918. haven't been saved all my life, and I was unashamed

  919. of the life that I live. I cuss in front

  920. of you, fight in front of you, get drunk in

  921. front of you, fortunicate in front of you. Now all

  922. of a sudden we come to Christ and we're ashamed

  923. to lift our hands. No, let's not do it that way.

  924. When I count the three, you raise your hand, give

  925. your life, or you dedicated, or you get filled with

  926. the spirit.

  927. One two, one two, three. All across is out of toorum.

  928. Raise it up. I raise it up.

  929. Ye.

  930. If you're raising your hand, do one thing for me.

  931. Stand on your feet. Just be bold, be.

  932. Courageous, Just stand up, just stand up, just stand up.

  933. Good job. Say this with me.

  934. Lift your hands short Heaven, say dear Jesus, you know

  935. everything about me.

  936. I thank you.

  937. Today for saving my soul. I'm not worthy of salvation.

  938. But thank you for loving me enough to die for me,

  939. help me to now get to know you.

  940. In Jesus' name, you may be seated. Amen, there we go.

  941. Come on, can we put our hands together for Pastor Diego?

  942. Can we thank him so much delivering a powerful, powerful word.

  943. I know we're about to head out, so before you

  944. get moving, and I know a few of you guys

  945. already have, but that's okay.

  946. I forgive you.

  947. If you gave your heart to the Lord for the

  948. first time or for the last time, we have a

  949. resource from you, actually from our family, Pastor Pastor Diego.

  950. If you go take out your smartphone, go to grow

  951. dot Faith. I think it works on androids too. I'm

  952. not sure, but it's just a bad joke and the

  953. moving on.

  954. Grow it out faith.

  955. That will be some of your next steps on you know,

  956. walking with the Lord. And I'm gonna pray for you

  957. in a second. But I want to challenge you with

  958. the challenge that Pastor Diego would say. He would say,

  959. if you would give your give yourself to coming to

  960. church every week for a year, guarantee your life will

  961. be different and it will be better. I promise that.

  962. So what are the next steps? Grow dot faith, Come

  963. to church. Let's pray after this prayer. If you need

  964. additional prayer, our elders, deacons and prayer team will be

  965. up here. Amen, let's pray together. LORDI thank you so

  966. much for incredible service. Thank for what you've done. People

  967. are saved, restored and set free. We asked that you

  968. be with us as we go from here in Gee's name,

  969. and everybody said amen and Amen. If you need additional prayers,

  970. come on forward. Besides that, have a great night and

  971. we'll see you this weekend.
