Praise God.
-
Thank you all those that consider Patriot your home church
-
and you partner with us through your generosity. Man Pastor
-
Kenny's not in here, but if he was, I'd tell
-
him that was an excellent generosity moment that had a
-
boy had your brother tearing up for a second, like
-
I already gave this much, but I was like should
-
I double down?
-
That was beautiful? But also you might have saw a
-
quick little video.
-
We have an orphanage and Uganda that we just supplied
-
all for back to school.
-
Our entire orphanage we support.
-
Back to school shoes, so they all got brand new
-
crocs and it was just delivered to them this past
-
week by one of the missionaries that's there, and so
-
your generosity helps support that. As our missionaries let us
-
know what the needs are, we're able to contribute and
-
fulfill those needs.
-
And we may not always.
-
Share with you every project that we do, but we'd
-
be here all day for service if we always shared
-
every project that we were involved with. But we do
-
like to as much as possible be able to show
-
you what you're giving goes to and an impact. We
-
can look around and see what God does throughout our campus.
-
But also it happens all throughout the nations as well.
-
I'm excited as we are about to jump into the
-
Word of God. And if you're new here and you
-
don't know who I am, my name is Adam and
-
I'm the lead pastor of Patreon. I'm excited to be
-
able to share with you today. And I know this
-
is Saturday service, and so I know that tends to
-
be a little bit more of the quieter service, more
-
of the reserve service. Okay, and that's okay, but I'm
-
gonna invite you tonight that usually for service, we receive
-
right as the word is going forth, we sit down
-
and we take notes or we take pictures of the
-
slides on the screens or whatever that is. But we've
-
intentionally this weekend created space to have a portion at
-
the end where we also respond. Over this next past
-
three weeks, starting last week to this week and next week,
-
we've been breaking down a little bit about who Patria is,
-
doing a series called Patria means Family and simply simply put,
-
our name just means family. And we've been sharing for
-
many people that are new to our church, what our
-
church values, what our church believes in, what's our mission,
-
and we've been walking through some growth track steps and
-
this is just a little bite sized size, a little
-
bite sized size of our growth track, but also today
-
our forward experience as well as we've been walking through
-
what our growth track process is. Kind of like last week,
-
one of the things we identified is that we're all
-
part of God's family, that through Jesus, you and I
-
are given an invitation through the Cross of Christ, through
-
his death, barrel resurrection, that God is willing to adopt
-
anyone that would follow his son.
-
And we saw that last week when.
-
We shared about a little bit about if we get
-
adopted into God's house, then the kingdom is his house
-
and it's his rules. So we're going to continue a
-
little bit today through our Ephesians chapter three, our normal
-
verse that we've looked at.
-
That's our church's verse as our structures.
-
So if you have a Bible, would you turn briefly
-
to Ephesians chapter three, And if you don't, today, I'll
-
have it up on the screen for us as well.
-
Here at Patriot we stand for the honor of reading
-
God's word just to give the Lord our full attention.
-
So if you would join us for a moment this
-
is what we covered last week. But we're gonna dig
-
deeper this week, and then we're gonna dig even more
-
deeper next week. I want you to see what the
-
Word of God says in Ephesians, chapter three, verse fourteen
-
to twenty one.
-
Here's what the scripture says.
-
For this reason, I bow my means before the Father,
-
from whom every family that's patriot in heaven and on
-
earth is named, that according to the riches of His glory,
-
he might grant you to be strengthened with power through
-
His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may
-
dwell in.
-
Your hearts through faith, that you.
-
Being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to
-
comprehend with all the saints, all the saints. What is
-
the breath and length, and height and depth to know
-
the love of Christ that surpasses all knowledge?
-
That you, being filled with all the fullness of God.
-
Now to Him who is able to do far more,
-
abundantly more than anything we ask or think, according to
-
the power at work within us. To Him be the
-
glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus, throughout all generations,
-
forever and ever a man, you may be seated.
-
What I love.
-
Last week is we covered God's house his rules. But
-
we'll dig deeper just for a few moments today, because
-
what we're gonna acknowledge is what happens is.
-
Verse fourteen and fifteen.
-
The apostle Paul in the Book of Ephesians makes an
-
invitation that says, if you are willing to surrender your
-
life to Christ, then he says, what happens is if
-
you bow your knees. Bowing our knees is a place
-
of submission, and it says, I bow my knees before
-
the Father from whom every family in heaven on earth
-
is named. In other words, you and I are adopted
-
by God through submission to the work of Jesus.
-
But here's what precedes those statements.
-
What precedes those statements are two powerful things, because a
-
lot of times when we are adopted into the family
-
of God, one of the first struggles you and I
-
will have is our identity.
-
It's who's am I?
-
Am I the worlds?
-
Or am I God's?
-
And so immediately when you say yes to Christ, many
-
of us will step into a battlefield of the mind,
-
the battlefield of the soul, that will pull you apart
-
as you're trying to now identify as a child of God.
-
It's almost like being born into an impoverished state, and
-
then all of a sudden, you get adopted into a
-
house where there's a bed, and you have your own bedroom,
-
and you have a fridge that you could go in
-
whenever you want, but instead you choose to sleep on
-
the floor because you haven't fully received. I'm in a
-
new place, I'm in a new season, I'm a new creation.
-
So I love what precedes, because then.
-
What happens is you will see the apostle Paul will
-
emphasize two incredible things.
-
The two incredible things he'll emphasize.
-
Number one is God's love for you will surpass your
-
own understanding.
-
So he says identity trick.
-
Number one, God's love will surpass what you think love is.
-
And then he says, and then what will happen Verse
-
twenty number two. What will happen is God is able
-
to do far more, abundantly more than anything you ask
-
or think, according to the power that works within us. So,
-
in other words, God can love you beyond your comprehension.
-
And also God can do in your life more than
-
you could ever ask or think. This immediately speaks to
-
our identity. But if we ask ourselves, well, how do
-
I step into Idaniel? How do I walk? Because I
-
feel like I'm not I feel like I struggle, I
-
feel like I sin all the time. I feel like
-
I'm addicted to things. I feel like I have unforgiveness
-
and areas. I feel like I'm angry about some things.
-
I'm angry about my mother or father, how I was raised.
-
I'm upset about the house situation that I'm in, or
-
the marriage that I'm in, or I'm angry towards God
-
about the things that happened to me in my childhood
-
or in my young adult years.
-
And so how can I walk in this fullness? Well,
-
that's what we're gonna walk and.
-
Talk about a little bit today because if you remember
-
last week, I shared a little bit about how many
-
of you guys have grown up in different home circumstances
-
with different house rules, and everybody grew up with different
-
house rules. Well, I'll share you one of the things
-
that would be God's house rules. So if you and
-
I walked into God's house rules, he would actually be
-
one of the people that said, hey, no shoes in
-
the house. In fact, God don't even want your socks
-
on in the house.
-
How do I know that?
-
Go to the book of Exodus, when Moses encounters the
-
burning bush. What's the first thing, Yahweh tells him take
-
off your sandals. This is holy ground, which means your
-
toes need to be touching the surface. But what happens
-
when you and I go in God's house and he says,
-
and remember when I say house, I'm not just talking
-
about the four walls of a church building. I'm talking
-
about his kingdom. I'm talking about being adopted into his family.
-
And what happens is when you and I walk into
-
his house and he says, hey, take.
-
Your shoes off.
-
Your first instinct is, but what if my feet stink?
-
Or what if my socks got holes in them? Or
-
actually I didn't know I was gonna have to take
-
my shoes off, and I wore two different socks, and
-
so I don't want to be embarrassed. And a lot
-
of times when you and I get into the presence
-
of God, we don't realize that as children of God,
-
he wants your shoes off.
-
He wants you and I to get naked with him.
-
He wants you and I to get real with him
-
and roll with him with all your junk, all your baggage,
-
all your pain, all your hardship. But a lot of
-
times we go, Lord, want I.
-
Don't want to take my shoes off?
-
Can I be your child?
-
And can I can? They're nice, they're Jordans. I just
-
bottom or their fresh sucks. I promise I only warmed
-
to that. I just pulled them out the back. Please
-
let me keep on. I don't want you to see
-
my toes. I don't want you to see my brokenness.
-
But if you and I are gonna be true children
-
of God and we're gonna walk into the identity God
-
has called us in, that.
-
We have to take off our shoes.
-
How many of you guys have ever grown up in
-
the household that grandma had the plastic coverings over the couches.
-
Did anyone have grandma like that plastic over the couches.
-
It's like, man, ain't no one messing up my couch.
-
In fact, it just went viral last week that a grandma,
-
after one hundred years old, her kids convinced her, her
-
great grandchildren convinced her to take the plastic off her couch.
-
And this is the first time that she sat on
-
her couch in fifty years without the plastic on, and
-
if you go and see the video, she is deeply
-
uncomfortable with sitting on that couch. But she said, hey,
-
I made it to one hundred. You know it is
-
what it is. Now, I'll sit on the couch. And
-
a lot of times what we want to do is
-
we want to put this plastic covering around us, and
-
we want to go into the presence of God, and
-
we want to take our squeaky cleanness and we want
-
to be able.
-
To cover ourselves.
-
But what God's willing to say is he says, I
-
see the stains beyond the plastic.
-
I see the brokenness.
-
You putting a plastic you getting saved, and then going Okay,
-
now I'm gonna put the plastic on.
-
No, we have to go through a deep.
-
Cleaning process where God can begin to purchase, God can
-
begin to pay for purifies. But a lot of times
-
we just say Lord, no, just I'm gonna go as
-
I am. And then I'm just gonna cover myself up
-
and I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna say Hallelujah, Amen,
-
I'm gonna say bless the Lord and I'm gonna put
-
on fancier clothes when I go to church, but I
-
don't want to expose or show anyone these stains that
-
I carry, So I'm a cover it.
-
What God wants to do is he wants.
-
Us to just expose ourselves so that God can speak
-
to your identity. And so what happens is God invites
-
us into his house. He's not just asking us to
-
take off our shoes and leave the dirt outside. He's
-
reminding us that his house has a name, and that
-
name he gives us has identity. Paul says, for this reason,
-
I bow my knees before the Father, from every family
-
in heaven on earth is named. And in other words,
-
before we talk about what we do, we have to
-
know who we are. Identity comes before activity, being comes
-
before doing, and truth comes before opinion. And the first
-
truth we need to settle deep in our spirit is this.
-
You and I are children of God. That's where identity begins.
-
So I want to just share with you for a
-
moment the truth about identity. The truth about identity means
-
being named by the Father means your identity is not
-
man made, it's God given. Your identity is given by
-
the Lord, which means this. You're not who you're past
-
says you are. You are not who culture says you are.
-
You are who God says you are. You're not defined
-
by a world's label of truth. You're not defined by
-
a neighbor's label of truth, a family member's label of truth.
-
You are defined by God's, which is a child.
-
Tim Keller says this, our identity is not achieved, it's received.
-
You don't work for identity in God.
-
You're not a child trying to work up to please
-
the Father to get his attention.
-
You have already received his spirit.
-
You have received his grace, you've received his mercy. The
-
problem is is we are struggling with that truth because
-
we're comparing our past life notes with the current life
-
word of God, and we're seeing that there is some
-
type of dis imbalance from that God. My pastor's no
-
way it makes sense with what you could do with me,
-
and we don't walk in that truth. Before Jesus ever
-
worked a miracle, the Father said to Jesus, this is
-
my son whom I'm well pleased. Jesus hadn't done anything yet,
-
no miracle, no sermon, no ministry. The Father and Jesus's baptism,
-
they came and he said, this is my son, who
-
am I'm well pleased. But before Saytan tempted and he
-
began with if you are God's son, the Father's son.
-
The first thing the enemy tried to do with Jesus
-
is prove your identity to me. And he began to
-
tempt Jesus and try to get Jesus to prove it.
-
But if you know, Jesus didn't play that game of
-
having to prove that he was the son of Man
-
and the son of God. Identity is always the first
-
thing the enemy attacks. When you and I become children
-
of God, we become part of the family of God,
-
like we just read in Ephesians three, and we become.
-
Adopted in the household of God.
-
And Philippians chapter three says that you and I our
-
citizenship is in heaven, it's not here on earth. When
-
you respond to the call of God in your life,
-
to respond to the Gospel of Jesus, to believe in
-
the death, bear and resurrection, you become a citizen, which
-
means you get kind of like a heavenly passport. Has
-
anyone here got a passport of some kind? Whether it's
-
of the United States or another nation. Here's what I
-
know that's unique about passports is when you go to
-
another country, especially as an American, in other countries, we
-
have what's called US embassies in those countries, and in
-
those countries, like in fact, I've been to Paris before
-
and I've seen that there's a right on the main
-
road of the Shamstalyze, there is a large US embassy
-
and there are American military soldiers guarding in Paris the
-
US embassy. And what I've been told before when I've
-
gotten my passport on on other occasions.
-
They will say this. They will say, if.
-
You are traveling internationally, not only is this passport for
-
you to get into the country, it is for you
-
to get access to our embassies when you are in
-
other countries, so that you can be represented, so that
-
you could be protected, and.
-
So that you could be covered.
-
Here's some things that US embassies can do in another
-
nation that you can go to.
-
It can replace a new passport.
-
If you lose your passport in another country, the US
-
embassy can replace it for you, which means you're not
-
out of luck. You're not like, oh, I gotta live
-
in this country forever now I lost my passport.
-
No, it's emergency help.
-
If you get arrested, if someone commits a crime on you,
-
if you have a medical emergency, if you need an evacuation,
-
your US embassy will help you with that. If you
-
need a lotery or a legal service, you're a US embassy.
-
Let's just say you do something illegal in another country
-
and they start coming after you. You have your representation
-
at your US embassy. You can register your child's birth abroad.
-
Let's just say you go pregnant somewhere and you have
-
a baby there. You US Embassy says, hey, let's make
-
sure your child's still a citizen back home so they
-
can get back in the country. They serve you in
-
that way. They have vista questions, Christis safety, They have
-
death abroad assistance. They have a list of doctors, lawyers,
-
and translators for you in case you get stuck welfare
-
checks if family cannot reach you. You see, when you
-
have a US embassy as a citizen, it means you
-
have direct access to.
-
Your home country.
-
And when you and I receive Jesus and received the
-
Spirit of God, it's the spirit of God that gives
-
you direct access to the Kingdom of Heaven and to
-
the Father.
-
But a lot of times.
-
We won't go to the Father, we won't identify our.
-
Identity as children of God.
-
So instead we stay in a foreign nation, in a
-
secular world, in a broken place, in a broken house,
-
and a broken this and a broken that, and we
-
just think of ourselves. I'm stuck here, I can't get out.
-
I lost my passport. You didn't lose your passport. Even
-
if your faith wanes, even if you find yourself back
-
in the world, there is always a place to get.
-
Back to the Father.
-
You may say, oh, I think I lost God because
-
I did this last night.
-
Or I did that a week ago.
-
You didn't.
-
All you did for a moment is lose your passport.
-
But that doesn't prove your citizenship. That just proves your
-
identity for one moment if someone asks. But you can
-
always get an access if you're a citizen of Heaven
-
and you and I have access before God. But here's
-
what will happen with the last few moments I have
-
and I'm gonna invite us to respond today. What will
-
happen is if when we're not living in the identity
-
that God has placed in our lives. What will happen
-
is either before this, in the middle of our faith
-
or you know, wherever our faith is.
-
The enemy will try to steal your identity.
-
He'll try to perform an identity thefth on your life.
-
And so there's the truth that we know of God's identity.
-
That's truth.
-
But what wi happen is is the enemy, as we've
-
seen time and time again. Book of Revelation says he
-
is the great Serpent, the father of lies is Satan,
-
will try to lie over your life, to corrupt your identity,
-
to rob you of your identity. The enemy wins if
-
he can convince you that you are not a son
-
and daughter of God.
-
He has corrupted you.
-
If you think that you have to earn your relationship
-
with God, you do not earn it, you receive it.
-
So what does the enemy try to do? Well, what
-
the enemy will try to do and we do this
-
our forward experience and teach us. The enemy will try
-
to create a sabotage cycle over your life. And here's
-
what the sabotage cycle looks like. What will happen is
-
there will be an event in your life. So just
-
think of an event in your life that's broken you.
-
That could be an absentee parent, could be something that
-
happened to you in your childhood. That could be someone
-
who's robbed you, someone that took something from you, someone
-
that took your decency in a time in your life,
-
you yourself.
-
An event happens to you.
-
Someone gives you a smoke of of something for the
-
first time, or a hit of something for the first time,
-
or a drink of something for the first time. It's
-
an event. And if something happens to you, But what
-
happens next a lie? You believe something false about yourself
-
or about God because of that event.
-
It locks you into a lie.
-
With a lie could look like this, Well, I'm only
-
happy when I'm doing this, I'm only fulfilled when I'm
-
doing this.
-
I only have purpose when I'm engaging with this.
-
I only feel better about myself when I'm cussing like this,
-
or yelling like this, or hating like this, or gossiping
-
like this or judging like this. Is it's a lie
-
that says or it says this, I'm fine, but it's God.
-
God did this to me, or God should have prevented
-
this from happening from me. So Therefore, it keeps you
-
from this lie, keeps you from a relationship with God,
-
and it keeps you in a sin, in a habit,
-
in a hated place, in an angry place. Here's the
-
next thing. Your reaction. Now you respond to it out
-
of pain or fear. You continue to double down, You
-
continue to engage more, you continue to isolate more, you
-
continue to hate more, unforgive more. And your reaction and
-
then what happens a response You were reinforced the lie,
-
and the cycle continues.
-
In other words, when an opportunity.
-
Comes and God wants to speak identity in your life,
-
you say no, I'm not worthy of God, or I'm
-
angry at God. So therefore, when times get hard, I
-
get back in the cycle. I pick it back up again.
-
I start doing it again, I start reacting the same way.
-
And there's a point in your life that he said,
-
I think I know better. I think I'm sitting in
-
church and God's word is revealing more. But because it's
-
a cycle, our response keeps engaging with our brokenness, because
-
we haven't broken this sabotage. But what God wants to
-
do when we can recognize our identity in him, is
-
he wants.
-
To bring freedom in your life.
-
He was to bring deliverance in your life. He doesn't
-
want you walking around with unforgiveness. He doesn't want you
-
walking around with addiction. He doesn't want you walking around
-
with pain, hate, torment, regret from past.
-
What he does not want.
-
His freedom is available, His mercy is new every single day.
-
God doesn't want to keep us there. He wants to
-
give us freedom. And many of us you may see here,
-
nig You're like, there's some things that I need freedom from,
-
some things that I Here's what I want to do
-
because I want us to see what's going on in
-
our church, whether someone's watching online in the courtyarder cafe.
-
Here, here's what I want to do. For just a moment.
-
I have someone on the screen, and if you pull
-
your smartphone out, if you like to engage with me,
-
you can.
-
Here's what I want to do right now, is you
-
could do one of two things.
-
You can either scan that QR code up in the
-
top left hand corner, or you can go to slide
-
oh dot com and then I want you to type
-
that number in. If you scan the QR code, it'll
-
take you straight in. If you'd go to slideo dot com.
-
Type the number, then it'll get you in. And I
-
just want you there. You see already people answering what
-
what do you need freedom from? And I just want
-
to see You're gonna see it's live happening. You're gonna
-
see people participating right now. And what happens is is
-
people are jumping in.
-
I want you to.
-
I want you to just keep going, keep typing it
-
in and what happens You're gonna we're gonna start seeing
-
our community what do people need freedom from?
-
And there's a bit typing You're gonna start to see
-
it come in and what happens is share it. And
-
I mean you could get deep with us.
-
I mean you could put put pornography, put smoking, put
-
like you can get real. You there may be something
-
a molestation that's happened to you. Are you said I
-
want freedom from a sexual moment? Like you, you can
-
be honest with us and continue to put that in
-
because we believe in the.
-
Realness of God.
-
Were wanna take our shoes off, We'll say God, this
-
is my feet, this is me. And what you're gonna
-
see is you're gonna see on the top is you're
-
gonna see the commonality of everyone in this room, everyone
-
participating in the courtyard of what we're responding with. So
-
you're gonna see people eleven people need freedom from anger.
-
Thirteen people need freedom from anger. Nine people need free
-
ten people need freedom from stress. Five, six people need
-
freedom from the past. Five people need freedom from worry.
-
Five people need freedom from people. They want to move
-
on an island or whatever that is.
-
I'll join you.
-
Freedom from fear, self doubt, anxiety, anger, fifteen. You see
-
what happens is is we begin to engage, we can
-
start to identify what it is that I need freedom from.
-
And what happens is is as we identify, we'll see
-
in a few moments, as we continue to add and
-
you'll see, Look how many people that participate. We've almost
-
two hundred people that have already participated and already on
-
here past traumas, worry, the idea of failing in my marriage.
-
There's imposter syndrome. We need free How many of you
-
guys can agree? Two hundred people engaging?
-
We need freedom? Right, we need freedom? Why do we
-
stay in it? Let me show you this.
-
Here's some core lies we believe, some core lies we
-
believe is this I'm not enough. I'll always be alone,
-
I'll never be free. God can use others, but not me.
-
We believe these things all the time. Neil Anderson says
-
it like this. When we believe lies about ourselves, we
-
live lies about ourselves. When we believe these lies, we
-
live them out. How can I break this sabotage cycle?
-
According to God's word and according to God's spirit, I'm
-
gonna make it as simple as I can with these
-
few moments.
-
Then I'm gonna invite us to respond.
-
If you're looking and you want to go God, I'm
-
ready to go into freedom. I want to take steps
-
of freedom. Then I'm gonna encourage us to respond in
-
just a few moments. But how do I break this
-
sabotage cycle? Here's the first thing I gotta do. The
-
first thing I gotta do is I gotta confess the
-
name out loud. Well, guess what I already helped y'
-
all do that Step one's done.
-
You shared with us.
-
You confessed it that Sometimes that is the heart. The
-
first step is the hardest thing to do, and you
-
didn't even know that.
-
You just did it right now. You confessed it. So
-
that's the first thing.
-
Name it out loud, anger, unforgiveness, addiction, stress, people, fear,
-
self doubt. You got shared it with us, and so
-
you've confessed it. The next thing you do is you
-
break the cycle. You refuse to rehearse it. I gotta
-
stop repeating themselves over me. I gotta stop. Every time
-
I get stress or times get hard, I go back
-
to living in that moment. I gotta stop rehearsing it
-
in my head. I gotta stop rehearsing that moment that
-
brought me to this in my head.
-
The next thing is believe or receive the truth. There
-
we go.
-
It must be a typo, but that's okay. Receive the truth.
-
Replace it with God's word. What does God's word say?
-
So here's where you do a little bit of homework.
-
If you're dealing with anger, go into God's word and
-
start to learn about anger.
-
Start to learn how God can heal anger.
-
If you're stress, go into God's word and learn about it.
-
Learn about stress. How can I overcome stress? If it's fear,
-
how do I start to read God's word and start
-
to confess that. In two thousand and eight, when Pastor
-
Diego got stage four cancer, one of the things he
-
did first because he needed God's healing. He would recite
-
two hundred healing verses every single day because what he
-
wasn't doing is he wasn't necessarily naming and claiming it.
-
What he was doing is throughout his day when pain
-
would hit, he would say, Oh, did the cancer get
-
me now? Or did this happen now? Or does this
-
happen now? So, as he's reciting healing versus, what he's
-
saying is, I'm not gonna allow the rehearsal of my
-
fear to happen in my head. I'm gonna allow God's
-
word to be the loudest voice that I'm a child
-
of God that through Jesus stripes, I'm healed. And so
-
what you're not doing is acting like there's some type of.
-
Miracle drug on the verse.
-
What you're saying is you're saying God, as loud as
-
my pain may be, God's word can be louder because
-
God's word is actually transformative.
-
It can change what do we do. We receive the truth.
-
And then the last thing is you step into your
-
identity in Christ, you walk it out daily. You respond
-
to God in worship, You respond to God in praise
-
just tonight. If you're looking for God for freedom from something,
-
I just want to encourage you goard to the Lord tonight,
-
laying in your bed and say, God, thank you for
-
freeing me from blank you praise God. You don't, you don't,
-
You don't become a skeptic of God and say, oh,
-
let me wake up tomorrow and see if someone makes
-
me mad, to see if I'm free from anger.
-
No, you gotta walk it out.
-
In fact, God may give you opportunities to get angry
-
to see if it's been sealed. You know that may happen,
-
or the enemy may try to throw a hell Mary.
-
And what we gotta do is we gotta we gotta
-
walk in it. And just because you get angry once
-
again doesn't mean that God hasn't delivered you. If it
-
means that you are in the process of God, of
-
his healing, of your saying dification, I want to encourage
-
you to walk in it. I'll close with this. In
-
the louver there once stood a huge painting. It was
-
called Checkmate by Frederick August Wrights. It showed kind of the.
-
Do we have a picture of it?
-
You guys got the picture?
-
Can we can we put up so on the left
-
it shows it shows the that's supposed to be like
-
the devil, and he's smirking, and the guy on the
-
right he's stressed. And the painter kind of did it
-
as as a trick because at first glance, what appears
-
is there's a checkmate. So he labeled the painting checkmate,
-
and there's a grimace of the devil looking at the
-
man that he just checkmated in, but there's an angel
-
in the background peering over the man's shoulder. It was
-
kind of like a trick painting. He never told people
-
what the actual meaning was. You look at it and
-
you go, oh, the satan. The devil checkmated this man.
-
He overcame him in some type of way, and so
-
people for many years thought it was like a story
-
that the man lost the game with the devil.
-
But one day a master chess player was.
-
In the louver and he looked at the board and
-
he noticed that the appearance was a checkmate, but actually
-
there was still one move on the table for the man,
-
and what appeared to be a checkmate. What the painter
-
was trying to say is if you pay attention enough,
-
you'll see that the young man still has one more
-
move to make, and the next move that's set up
-
is a checkmate against the devil.
-
Because he had one more move. And I just want
-
to encourage you.
-
There's times in your life where you think the devil's
-
got you, you think Satan one, you think the enemy
-
has got one.
-
Over your head. But there's always one more move. There's
-
always one more move. God's always got one more move.
-
Satan will never checkmate you because we serve a God,
-
and we serve a king named Jesus that sits.
-
At the right hand of the and he intercedes for you.
-
There's still one more move. Are you willing to make
-
the move? Are you willing to make the move?
-
Because you can identify that you need freedom, But are
-
you willing to make the move? Are you willing to
-
confess it and say, God, I need freedom from this.
-
I need freedom from an adultery. I need freedom from pain,
-
I need freedom from addiction, I need freedom from habit
-
I need freedom from fear, I need freedom from anger.
-
Whatever it is, are you willing to make the move.
-
There's a lot of times our pride will be like.
-
Don't make the move, don't do that, just sit there,
-
just be defeated.
-
It's easier that way, it's more comfortable that way.
-
You can make more excuses in that position.
-
What happens is if you will step into God's healing,
-
then what will happen is you will see the freedom
-
that God has intended for a child of his Roman
-
Chapter eight says, therefore there is now no condemnation for
-
those that are in Christ, Jesus that the law of
-
the spirit, the law is death, but the spirit is life.
-
There's no condemnation for those that are in Christ.
-
Jesus.
-
There is no place for you to feel condemned. If
-
you are a child of God. Take your shoes off
-
before God and show them, show him your brokenness, show
-
him your pain, and I'll tell you this, He is
-
willing to heal it. If we will kneel before God
-
and say, Jesus, I receive your healing. I confess it today,
-
and I won't let the enemy steal my identity any longer.
-
Today you have an opportunity to go to the embassy
-
of Heaven and say, God, my identity has been stolen,
-
but I want it back, and I'm here to ask
-
for it back, and I'm here to walk with you
-
So would you guys join me for a moment, and
-
would you stand for just a second. We got plenty
-
of time. We're gonna leave here together, plenty of time.
-
We made the message shorter so that we could just respond.
-
I'm gonna ask the worship team to come on up here.
-
I'm gonna invite us as we begin to worship, I
-
want you to take a step towards freedom. So for everyone,
-
that may look like something different. Some of you may
-
want to come to the all and lay down or
-
put your hands up. Some of you, guys may just
-
want to lift your hands in your seat and sing
-
with us. But there are special occasions where God's word
-
will come and cover you.
-
And then it's time.
-
For us to respond, not just to receive, to respond,
-
say God, I need freedom.
-
And what you will see is there's a story and
-
acts where when.
-
Two of the disciples were in prison that began to
-
worship and the chains began to fail and the.
-
Prison gate opened. When you and I begin.
-
To worship, the chains can fall down, the prison doors
-
can open, You can walk in freedom. Are you willing
-
to worship God? Are you willing to submit to God
-
and say God, this is what I need today.
-
I respond, I've been broken, I've been hurt. I need freedom.
-
Confess what that is and allow God to work on
-
your heart.
-
The team's going to lead us in worship. Let's sing together.
-
Let's allow God to work on us together. And if
-
you'd like to come to the altar, you're more than
-
welcome to come.
-
Let's worship yea father. Here we are the aartar, surrendering all.
-

-
a child of God. Sing that I'm no longer saying
-
I'm no longer.
-
Right Godred Sons and Daughters of God.
-
Gun. There are things in this life.
-
There are often beyond our control, beyond our understanding. But
-
as your word says, your love is available. Your love
-
is available more than we could ever understand. The height
-
or depth. Your grace is exceeding more than we could
-
ever understand. You can do far more abundantly anything that
-
we could ever ask for. God, you can multiply any moment.
-
God so Lord, we pray that in this moment, you
-
would multiply freedom, you would multiply healing.
-
God.
-
I pray people will walk in deliverance in this room today,
-
Father God, and I pray Lord, they will be no
-
longer bound by fear, no longer bound by addiction, no
-
longer bound by pain, no longer bound by a past God.
-
But they will fully walk in the wholeness and the
-
calling of God on their life. Lord, that Christ would
-
be the foundation of our soil today. Lord, that we
-
will fully surrender to Jesus as King, and we will
-
fully follow him with our whole heart, soul and strength. God,
-
we thank you for your deliverance today. Lord, and I
-
pray if there's anyone in this room, anyone in the courtyard,
-
in the cafe, who's never confessed Jesus Christ as their
-
Lord and savior, I would never want to take it
-
for granted that everyone in this room has given their
-
life to Christ. I just want to invite you today,
-
if you are ready to take the step of faith
-
by surrendering your life to Jesus Christ, to confessing him
-
as your Lord and savior and believing that His death
-
and resurrection is for you walking away from your sins
-
and your past to fe surrender to God that I
-
want to invite everyone to say this with me. This
-
confession is not the thing that saves you. All we're
-
doing is affirming what the spirit of God is already
-
at work.
-
In your life right now.
-
Could we say this together, Dear Lord Jesus, in this moment,
-
I repent to my sins. I fully embrace you as
-
my Lord and Savior. I believe in my heart that
-
you died on the cross and you rose three days later.
-
I choose to follow you for the rest of.
-
My days, for I am a child of God in
-
Jesus' name.
-
Amen, Could we give God glory for what the Lord
-
would do in this room today if you responded to
-
that prayer today we want to come alongside of you.
-
And so before you leave, if you'd like to know
-
what's next in your walk with Jesus, you could go
-
to ww dot grow dot Faith.
-
We would love to walk with you, get you a
-
small book bar found pastor pastor diego.
-
Additionally, if anyone's here and you just need some more
-
moments of prayer over your life than our elders, deacons
-
and prayer team, they'll be up here in the front.
-
Please. If you feel like the spirit of God is
-
stirring you.
-
To receive more or to respond to more, then our
-
team will be up here and they would be happy
-
to pray over your life.
-
I'll pray for us one more time. We'll be dismissed.
-
Lord, Thank you for today, God settle in our hearts,
-
the healing that took place and the freedom that would
-
take place today. Lord, I pray that you would cause
-
people that if they haven't gone to growth track yet,
-
to discover more of their purpose. Lord, if they haven't
-
gone to forward, Lord, may they look into the future
-
as we do forward together. This right here is just
-
one moment of a four week moment that we do
-
in forward.
-
God.
-
So I pray Lord that more people will step not
-
only to healing, but also understanding their identity in Christ.
-
Today, God, we thank you for this in Jesus' name. Amen,
-
God bless you. Family. Will either see on Wednesday or
-
next Sunday.
