Adventist Radio London inspiration for the song. One of the greatest stories that captures

human imagination is the story of Moses. As a matter of fact, Moses

came at a time when the tune of Israel were struggling and suffering. Moses

came at a time when the turn of Israel were captured and were living in

the land of Egypt. Egypt a place of effigy and goddesses, and jewels

and chess, vases of ivory, furniture and other items of beauty. Egypt,

the Pyramids. Amidst the backdrop of this beautiful Egypt was the struggle of

one people, the Israelites. Determine that God was about to do something.

The Bible declares that God gave to Israel as son, a son called Moses.

And Moses came at a time when there was a decree that any one

who has a male child should die determine that their child should not die.

Jacobed succeeded in hiding Moses for three months, and the Bible declares that he

was placed in a basket made war to tight place on the river Nile.

The Nile the joy, the substance, the place where Egypt would go and

take a bath and their source of water. There, Moses was hidden looking

over by his elder sister, Miriam. Miriam hide herself just to ensure that

the child was okay. The Bible declares that whilst Miriam was looking on,

the Princess of Egypt came along to take a bath, and she saw the

floating basket, and she instructed that the lid be opened, and there she

found a child, an infant. We're told that she adopted this boy,

and the boy's name was Moses. The princess named him Moses, which means

one who was drawn from water and when a reven narrative. In Exodus chapter

one, two and three, we discover that Moses was trained. He was

taught by his mother, because the Bible tells us that the prince as gave

the child to the care of his mother, and his mother nurtured him.

Moses was taught by God through his mother in a humble home. Moses,

having been taught, having been trained by his mother, was then taken into

the palace of the Princess of Egypt. In the courts of fair Moses received

the highest civilian military training because he was determined that this boy would one day

sit on the throne. He was educated Moses, he had influence, he

had wealth, he had power. Moses was not only sitting at the feet

of the greatest king on earth. He was waiting to be crown king of

Egypt. The palace of Pharao would be his home, The valleys of the

kings would be his final resting place. His body would be wrapped in a

hundred yards of fine lineal. He could have been mummified. No one would

have ever found the underground burial chamber of Moses. As a matter of fact,

Moses no tomb was ever built. He never became the fair of Egypt.

Moses choose rather better things. And here I go with my text.

For while the relics of Egypt past were impressive, they could not compare with

future moseses chows pastor smith. What of his future? The Bible declares in

Hebrews Chapter eleven, twenty four and twenty five. By faith, Moses,

when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Phaarah's daughter,

choosing rather to suffer fliction with the people of God than to enjoy the

passing pleasures of sin. Hebrews eleven, verse twenty four and twenty five.

Moses was looking beyond the palace, beyond the pleasures of earth. He was

looking beyond the fortunes of the fading Egypt. Rather, Moses trills to be

called the son of God. Moses died alone atop Mount Niba, without royal

fanfare, without any elaborate funeral planner, any unfair exchange could say, this

life for the one he could have enjoyed at the royal palace in Egypt.

Not so, my friends, For Moses knew that one Corinthians, chapter two,

verse ninety. His eyes have not seen, nor hears earn, nor

have it entered into the hearts of men, the things which God has prepared

for those who love him. He wanted to be amongst the faithful who could

enter the City of God. He longed to hear the voice of Jesus richer

than music. He wanted to hear Jesus saying, come, you, blessed

of my Father inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world

Matthew twenty five and verse thirty four. Moses's eyes were focused beyond the walls

of Egypt. Like Abraham, Moses eyes were fixed on a city which has

foundation, whose builder and maker is God Hebrews, Chapter eleven, verse ten.

Can we be sure I am asking this question this morning? Can we

be sure that this city to which the ancient patriot look with such longing is

a real city, not just a symbol, not just a figment of their

imagination. Jesus gives this answer in My Favorite John when he says, let

not your heart be troubled fourteen one to three. He believed in God.

Believe also in my father's house are many mansions. If it were not so,

I would have told I go and prepare a place for you. And

if I go, I will come again and receive you, unto myself,

that where I am there he may be. Also Moses's eyes were fixed beyond

the walls of Egypt, a fading empire, and he was looking to the

city whose builder and maker is God. John captures the city whilst being exiled

on the isle of Patmus, off the coast of Turkey. God showed him

his disciple in a vision a city, and he wrote, Then I John

saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from

God. And he says, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

What beauty, what joy? Nothing is more glorious than the bride preparing for

her wedding. She makes sure that she is well looked after. She makes

sure that she is in her best dress. She makes sure that she looks

the part. John had difficulty describing this imaginable beauty that he saw on the

other side. He had to keep saying it was like this, or it

was like that, And in spite of the limitations of human language, his

description leaves us breathless. This is what he says now. The walls of

the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of twelve apostles

of the Lamb. The foundation of the wall of the city were adorned with

all kinds of precious stone. Revelation twenty one, fourteen or nine. He

talks about sea of glass, the royal color, the stones, the appearance

of a giant rainbow. This John saw captures the beauty of the city.

John says in Revelation twenty one, verse sixteen, the city is laid out

as a square. Its length is as great as its breadth. And he

measured the city with the red twelve thousand fur long, use your imagination.

The city is fifteen hundred miles long in circumference three seventy five miles wide on

either side. According to those who are good at math, the city could

house several billion people. In other words, my friends who are listening,

there's room in the city for you. Revelation twenty one, verse twelve tell

us the twelve gates were twelve pearls, and the streets of the city was

paved with gold like transparent glass. You see, my friends, if such

a city existed to day, every one would be packing up trying to get

a reservation on the next plain, regardless of the casts. But there's good

news. Soon that city will be the capital of Earth made new. John

says. John saw it coming down from God out of Heaven to a new

Heaven and a new Earth where there'll be no more sin, for the first

Heaven and the first Earth were passed away. The city itself is built on

pure gold. It may surprise you that planet Earth is to be the future

home of the saved, but it should not. Jesus says, Blessed are

the meek, for they shall in Erith, the Kingdom of God. My

friends, what a city I'm looking for. Oh. The Bible says,

the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt

with fervent eat. Both the earth and the works that are in it will

be burnt up. The Bible says that this earth is coming to a close.

Second Peter chapter three, verse ten and thirteen says, nevertheless, we,

according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in

which righteousness dwells. Were living in a world of confusion and conflict and chaos.

We need a change. We need beauty. We need a place where

there's no more cancer, no more heart attacks, no art righteous, no

more cold, no illness forever. That's why Isaiah capturing that city, says

in Isiah thirty three, verse twenty four. And the inhabitants will not say

I am sick, and I say Hallelujah to the Lamb of God. Then

the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the depths

shall be unstopped. Then the lames shall leap like a deer, and the

tongue of the dumb sing for water shall burst forth in the wilderness and streams

in the desert. I say thirty five, five and six. Yes,

my friends, we're always searching this world for relentless fountains of youth. But

finally, the Bible tells us that everyone will have perfect bodies and eternal youth,

not created by scientists, but created by the hand of God. We

won't have to stand in line for food any more. God will abundantly supply

all our needs. Isaiah gives us some more good news about our future.

Home is say sixty and verse eighteen. Violence shall no longer be heard in

your land, neither wasting nor destruction within your body, no violence, peace

and harmony, in love and joy, because the presence of God will be

there. I'm longing for home. The Bible tells us that the wolves shall

lay by the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat,

and the lion shall eat straw like the oxen. They shall not hurt nor

destroy in all my holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the

knowledge of God, as the waters cover the sea. I'm looking for a

change, you know, my friends. Where I live, I have burglar

bars in my house, burglar alarms. I have locks on my doors I

need keys to open. I have a safety box in my house. But

the Bible tells us that in that grand, beautiful city, when Jesus returns,

we need no such thing. As a matter of fact, Revelation twenty

one, verse five, horses than God will wipe away every tears from their

eyes. There shall be no more death, nor sore, nor crying.

There shall be no more pain for the former things have passed away. As

I looked back over my life, I've seen trials. I've seen tribulations.

Have I looked back over the lives of those who have pasted and those who

have lived with I recognized the trials and tribulations that we have to deal with.

My friends, I'm getting weary. I'm getting tired. But I like

what Isaiah forty ver asserted. One is that we shall run and not be

weary. We shall walk and not faint, ever get tired. You will

never feel that way in the Earth made you. As we studied the history

of the planet Earth in relation to the rest of God's chretion, we find

that this Earth is the prodigal world in the the one world where the plague

of sin has spread its ugly disease for six thousand years. But God has

promised that He has put this world on noticed. Just think of taking hold

of the hand and finding its God's hand. Could anything be more awesome?

Just think of walking up and finding it its home, our eternal home,

a home away from the tenements and tempers, out of the smug of traffic

and pollution, and in a land where a pure river of life, clear

as crystal, proceed out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

But what will keep us busy in such a place of peace and tranquility,

without crime and sickness to worry about, without the rent to pay, on

food to buy. What will the inhabitants of God's city do? It will

be a place where every faculty will be developed, every every vision will be

materialized, and every dream will become a reality. As a matter of fact,

Isaiah says, they shall plant houses and inhabit them. They shall plant

vineyards and eat of their fruit. They shall not build, and another inhabit

they shall not plant, and another eat. My elects shall long enjoy the

works off their hands. I say hallelujah to the Lamb of God. So

will you be able to build? You ask me the question, according to

your specification will you be able to enjoy your garden. Just think no potato

bugs or corn borers, nor blight nor drought, just paradise. From pole

to pole. We will have two homes, a city home and a country

home, the mansion Jesus is preparing in the New Jerusalem, and a country

home we will build. The city home will surely come in Andy, because

the Bible says, for as the new heaven and the earth which I will

make shall remain before me, says the Lord, so shall your descendant and

your name remain. And from one Sabbath Isaiah sixty six twenty two to twenty

three to another, all flesh shall come to worship before me, says the

Lord. What a promise God is making a special place of worship. What

a promise God is making a place when all those who have been redeemed will

come forward and praise God. My friends, how can we make certain we're

citizens of the new heaven and in the earth that have been describing? How

can we know our name is in one of those mansions in the New Jerusalem.

The answer is so simple, yet so many of us who are listening

at this time are trying to make it complex. God promised Abraham so many

years ago that his seed would inherit the and god promise will be fulfilled.

Hebrews eleven ten says, for he waited for the city which has foundation,

whose builder and maker is God. The citizens of the land will be the

seed of Abraham, just as God promised so long ago. Wait a minute,

you say, pastor, I am not Abraham, i am not Moses,

I'm not Isaac, I'm not a Jew. But the Bible tells me

Galatians Chapter three, Verse tenanana. And if you are Christ, then you're

Abraham's seed and hears according to the promise. You see, my friend's Moses

gave up everything in Egypt for the city of God. You and I can

give up everything for the cause of God. You see, my friends,

if you belong to Christ, if you accept him, then you are abraham

seed and hears of that promised land of the posterity of Abramtristen. It is

written these all dying faith, not having received the promise, but having seen

them afar off or assured of them, embraced them and confess that they were

strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Moses was a stranger in Egypt. Moses

had the chance to become somebody in Egypt. Yet still Moses gave up all

of that so that he can inherit eternal life. Yes, my friends,

we too are strangers, we're sojourners on this earth. But we can be

part of God's beautiful tomorrow if we reach out and accept the gift that God

has promised every person through Jesus Christ, his son. There's no other way,

there's no other hope, there's no other perspective, my friends. The

Bible says that Moses give up all he had so that he couldn't enjoy sin

for a season, give it up all for the cause of God. And

so, my friends, it is my prayer today, it is my prayer

that you will look into your life and you will give up everything for the

cause of God, because pretty soon he will come. And when he comes,

he will take us from time to eternity. He will take us from

mortal to immortality. He will take us from this earth of sinfulness. He

will take us into the paradise of glory. Join with me and walk with
