Hello and welcome to the weekly podcast of the Community
-
prayse Center, Alexandria, Seventh day Adventist Church. We're glad you
-
decided to join us today by downloading and listening to
-
this week's featured message. We pray that you allow God
-
to teach and inspire you while you listen. Delivering this
-
week's message is Community Pray Center's Senior Pastor Henry Write.
-
Let's pray our Father, Oh, do we want you to
-
take away anything in us that rebels against our creator?
-
And so into this worship we acknowledge your presence. We
-
don't invite you because you are. You are our host.
-
We're in your place. You were here when we arrived
-
this morning. In our end we beg into our study
-
of your word, at the words of our mouth and
-
the meditations of our heart. May it might be acceptable
-
unto thee O God in Jesus' name, Amen, for dealing
-
with deeper relationships. I call it part three subtitle marriage
-
the Mother of all Relationships. This is not a sermon
-
on marriage. Thank you Silver, Thank you Great Blessing. This
-
is not a sermon in ladies on marriage. And the
-
way that you might think. Let me remind you of
-
some things that I am concerned about. I'm concerned about
-
our relationships with each other and God as a whole, okay,
-
and then our quest for the deeper. We've talked about
-
the deeper study of the word, deeper devotions, deeper prayer,
-
deeper worship, all of that, deeper health, many things we've
-
touched on. But the Lord has led me to spend
-
some time with you. Six sermons, maybe eight, I can
-
see ten deeper relationships. I never finish on this subject.
-
And we've said because we're going there, because because most
-
people are going to miss heaven over people. So I've
-
not dreamed up these subjects to fill in space and time.
-
Many of you sitting here right now are having difficult
-
times with other human beings, and those difficulties are sapping
-
you of spiritual wherewithal you're barely making it. The relationship
-
is eating you up like a cancer. I'm not talking
-
about boy, girl, man, woman stuff. I'm talking about just
-
relationships with people getting along. If you're a man with
-
a brother, with a boss, with a friend. Because we
-
have said in our relationships we are me oriented. I
-
deal with people, not based on their needs, but based
-
on mine. Now, folk, that's just the truth of it.
-
And you can sit here pious all you want. That's
-
just a fact. You would be amazed how much better
-
your relationships would go with anybody, spouse, friends, whatever, if
-
you could get you out of the way. But in
-
the relationship, you're battling for space for you, territory for you,
-
rightness for you. We battle to win rather than to understand.
-
And so we skew the simplest relationships because we're always
-
measuring their success based on how I feel, totally ignoring
-
the Christ example, who says in Romans five eight through Paul,
-
Christ commends his love to us in that while we
-
were yet centers, Christ died for us. That is, Christ
-
took into account our need, not his, our posture, not his,
-
our dilemma not his. And it's difficult for us to
-
do that. And the reason it is is that there
-
is a relationship called marriage, which God intended to be
-
the mother of all relationships, and the stewing and twisting
-
and distorting and maiming and crucifying and corrupting of that
-
relationship has reduced brokenness everywhere. Many folks sitting here never
-
knew their mother and father, and if they did, the
-
relationship was sorry. And so what God wanted to do
-
with marriage never happened for you. Or even in situations
-
where the marriage appeared to be good, because the two
-
people in it still are always stewed. Then there's still
-
some twistedness says that God passed us. Not in the dictionary,
-
don't look for it. There's still some twist listessays that
-
got passed on to you. In some cases you don't
-
even know, you're not even aware of it. And till
-
you get into a relationship yourself and you realize how
-
messed up you are, how am I doing so far?
-
I'm doing good because it's truth. I'm speaking truth, the
-
truth as it is in Jesus. So we scuffle, we're
-
broken and rebruised. And what I will suggest you today
-
without apology, is that correcting this disease in you will
-
only come in the same degree as you find your
-
relationship in him who produced the first relationship, the great
-
fixer of all human messes. His name is Jesus. Giving
-
in to him makes it easier for you to give
-
into others. And this was the Jesus example was it not.
-
Jesus came to this earth, and he taught us how
-
to give in, because and and and and and there's
-
no there's no, there's there's there there's no greater giving
-
in than him. Because he who thought it not robbery
-
to be in the face of God, made himself of
-
no reputation, took on himself the form of man and
-
that of a servant. Jesus showed us how to give in,
-
how to keep your mouth shut, how to exercise strength
-
and dignity, how to appear to lose and yet always win.
-
Come on, somebody, we have to study Jesus. Before we
-
do that, let's look at this thing called marriage. We've
-
said that God is a relationship. Remember that father son,
-
Holy Ghost. He's a relationship. And we've said that the
-
relationship of God first John four and verse eight is
-
based on love. So God is a relationship father son,
-
Holy ghost. And the glue that holds the father son
-
and Holy Ghost together is l ov What is that love? Love?
-
And therefore them we want to say, we're made in
-
God's image, so we are made also to love. God
-
took his relationship father son, Holy ghosts and reproduced it
-
in mankind, mother, father, children. The human trinity is an
-
expression of the Holy Trinity, and the same love that
-
binds them is to bind us, we learn. We studied that,
-
and we went on to find out that therefore God's
-
command to the human race is a twofold command based
-
on love. He tells us in Matthew the twenty second
-
chapter verses thirty seven to thirty nine, that we should
-
love the Lord God, thy God without our hearts, sould
-
in mind, and our neighbor, how as thyself, which suggests
-
that people who cannot love other people have not learned
-
to love themselves. We call it low self esteem. People
-
with low self esteem can't love anybody because a person
-
with low self esteem is always thinking about themselves. And
-
you can't love other people while you're concentrating on yourself.
-
Did you fall all of that? This law of love
-
allows us to relate to other people, to relate in
-
such a way that love actually gets in front of
-
our own self preservation. Go to Matthew five thirty eight
-
through forty eight. I just made a very important statement.
-
I don't think you got it. True love allows you
-
to get ahead of your own self preservation. Our join
-
a true love keeps you from looking out for yourself first,
-
and Jesus was trying to gently teach this in Matthew five,
-
starting in verse thirty eight, where he says, finishing his
-
sermonal amount or moving into section two of his sermonal
-
the amount, he says, you have heard that it had
-
been sent an eye for an eye, a tooth for
-
a tooth. That is the that is the human rule.
-
You get me. I get you, But I said too
-
you verse thirty nine that ye resist not evil. Do
-
what are you reading that? Do you understand what that means?
-
That means don't be so quick to rear up when
-
it looks like somebody is taking advantage of you. That's
-
what that text are saying, resist not evil. Don't be
-
so quick to get insulted, to get defensive. I'm glad
-
that there is silence. We shouldn't say, amen, the stuff
-
that we're not doing. Time for silence. We're not We're
-
not doing this. It's time. Your silence was appropriate. But
-
whosoever shall smite you on the right cheek turned to him.
-
The others also, now we get tied up in the cheeks.
-
He's laying down a principle and The principle is don't
-
be so quick to rear up. And it's a natural
-
tendency in human beings. We read it there in the text.
-
Sister Haines read it. Boy, she got the most out
-
of the word woman, didn't you when you read that text. See,
-
I didn't know that that was gonna read the text.
-
I just laid it on her back there in the
-
back room, and sister war of word woman out she
-
got the most. Almost maybe want to change my sermon,
-
but she read it, didn't she So about rearing up?
-
Rearing up adam us on the spotties, on the spotties
-
buck naked. He's got a little apron on ondies and
-
standing before God, and God is asking him, what in
-
the world did you do? How did you get naked?
-
And who told you you were naked? You ain't that tree?
-
Didn't you? He's on the defense. What does he do?
-
He raars up the woman. Now he rais up in God.
-
He raise up a god, the woman that you gave me.
-
I didn't put me to sleep. I didn't mess with
-
no ribs. You did that. Now I'm purposely making you
-
smile because you need to see the serous side of this.
-
See how quick sin moved us to self preservation. That's
-
my point, Baker, you cannot have a successful relationship with
-
anyone if your first goal is self preservation. How do
-
I look? How am I going to come out? What's
-
the results for me? Remember the subtitle of these sermons
-
is me, Myself and Them. So here he is standing
-
there and Jesus is saying, but whosoever just might know
-
to turn the other side Verse forty. If any man
-
will soothe at the law and take away thy coat,
-
let him have that cloak. Also, don't get hung up
-
on clothes. Here he's laying down a principle. He's actually saying,
-
watch it now, and I'm not preaching to you, I'm
-
preaching to us. He's actually saying, in that human crisis,
-
if somebody appears to take advantage of you, let it
-
happen for the sake of being a Christian. Now, Missy,
-
that's not us. No, we don't do that, Oh no, no,
-
no no. We want them to know. At even even
-
even if we let them get over, we go tell
-
them I know you getting over.
-
Now.
-
Don't you think I don't know you know? Don't you
-
think for one minute I don't know you taken advantage
-
of me. Is that the way we are, come on somebody,
-
that's the way we are. It's hard to reduce ourselves.
-
The purpose of the marriage relationship was to teach these
-
principles to the human race, and then children in the
-
context of this relationship, growing up, breathing in the ambiance
-
of practiced love with then as the next generation, receive
-
and then practice, and then pass on, receive and then practice,
-
and then pass on to you with me Church. The
-
worst that was the cycle of God plan. The ingenious Satan,
-
who was never able to crack the love relationship of
-
the divine three, said I will crack the love relationship
-
of the created three, and in that way indirectly bring
-
pain to the creating three. Jesus said, I'll have none
-
of it. I will become them and show you that
-
in human flesh love can still reign. Somebody else to say, man,
-
but but Satan was a genius of this, and so
-
the rest of it goes on. So there we are, there,
-
we are, there we are. And a sermon two weeks ago,
-
well it's been three four weeks ago. Now we laid
-
down these points. We are to bring Genesis one twenty six.
-
Our relationship with God into our relationship with each other.
-
That's the basis of marriage. Genesis one twenty seven. We're
-
to bring who we are to the relationship. That is,
-
we're to be who we really are. There's nothing worse
-
in marriage than pretense. Let's be who you are. What
-
we've got to learn is to be who we are
-
in the courtship. So all this princing and dancing and
-
problem are out and around in the courtship trying to
-
impress somebody that ain't you opening doors and sending flowers.
-
So many ain't you? You're raising expectations. Go on now, brother,
-
you can't keep you stingy. Be stingy in the courtship.
-
Then you can see so you can see you're stingy.
-
Then if your marriage you stenjie, she can't complain. He
-
didn't do nothing when he courted me. He can't do nothing.
-
Now I'm preaching the gospel, Donna, good to see you
-
preaching God's words. So be who you are. Genesis one
-
twenty seven, one twenty eight, Cooperate, be fruitful, and multiply
-
to eighteen complete one another and Genesis two twenty four
-
and twenty five seek for unity and vulnerability. Okay, this
-
was the ideal. Now now now, now when we started
-
the book of Genesis, we we we we get this
-
feel for what God had in mind. But I'm gonna
-
go back to Genesis two twenty four and twenty five,
-
and you're gonna go there with me. And please understand, Sherry,
-
that I understand as I preach this, that most of us, yeay,
-
I would say all of us, none of us, even
-
those of us who grew up in a home jamal
-
where there was mother and father, none of us saw
-
as we grew up ideal love. Is that a fair statement.
-
Now we may have seen something that was pretty close
-
to it. Most of us are just glad we can
-
you know, a lot of us are just glad that
-
we can brag our parents stayed together. That's an accomplishment.
-
Hickey's on their head, you know, but they stayed together.
-
But for most people on this planet, we never saw
-
love exhibited. So we come in and I'm taking time
-
with this Regina so we can see. We can see
-
very clearly glad to have Regina Barnes in church to dayia.
-
It looks wonderful. So we can see the success that
-
Satan has had. But also on this sermon today, I
-
want to encourage you that as successful as he seems
-
to be, God is a winner. But also the third
-
thing I want to demonstrate in this sermon is that
-
if you will get honest about how skewed you are
-
and stop trying to put it on the other person,
-
God can help you. As long as you're saying it's
-
their fault. God can't do a thing with you. And
-
before you better listen to me now, and before he
-
will trust you with success, he must first see if
-
you're willing to take low because he did. The servant
-
is not greater than his massacre. Stop being drawn down
-
to somebody else's level. They don't speak, so you ain't
-
gonna speak now. We got two fools. You know. It's
-
ridiculous folk, grown Christian people, and we've not allowed you know,
-
I love you. We've not allowed the Christian faith to
-
be triumphant in the human heart. God is waiting for
-
his people to rise above the mundane. They don't speak.
-
I speak. They're not nice. I'm nice. They won't call.
-
I'll call, they won't say I'm sorry. I'll say I'm sorry. Hey,
-
set yourself free in Jesus, stop being a slave to
-
self and sin. So in this text, therefore shall a
-
man leave his father and brother shall cleave and to
-
his wife they shall be one flesh. They were both naked. Now,
-
marriage is the first and oldest of human relationships. Do
-
you agree there was a husband and wife before there
-
was a mother and father. For there was a grandma
-
and grandpa. For was a brother and sister. It's the mama.
-
Marriage is the mama. So all relationships, do you like, Arama?
-
All relationships start with marriage. Now you can see, therefore
-
why the devil has worked Eric to mess up marriages,
-
because even Sheryl, if it's not let's say, let's say
-
let's say that there's a marriage, it's not going well,
-
it's affecting those children. But then there are people who
-
know about the marriage, so it's also affecting them. See,
-
a bad marriage is a cancer in society because a
-
lot of people can see. And of course what has
-
happened now we've finally come to the point on planet
-
Earth where a lot of folks don't believe in marriage
-
at all. And the devil's just because he knew that
-
that was God's foundation for human relationships. Children growing up
-
and seeing mothers and fathers treat each other correctly, be nice,
-
and even when they argue, settle it. Children seeing this,
-
and they grew up saying, well, you know it's a challenge,
-
but it can work. Now people are perfectly at peace.
-
They don't marry, and they'll say with pride, I don't
-
know a lot of folks to married. They ain't happy.
-
Haven't you heard that? Some of you have thought it,
-
and so we've excused ourselves into all kinds of twistedness.
-
And so now you have Christian people who are very
-
comfortable living together, unmarried, just us calm, talk about how
-
much they love each other. And then you use world
-
that we're committed. We're committed. Listen, when that brother goes
-
down to the court, buys a license, makes you legally
-
his so when he dies you'll get his stuff. That's commitment.
-
Anything else is an arrangement. Commitment, it's putting your life
-
and your stuff on the line. And see now that
-
was not on page two, it's not on page three
-
or page four. Now leave cleave. Now let's go through,
-
go through quickly, leave the ability to make something else
-
a priority. See leave mother and mother and father relationships.
-
Let me keep hammering that own Glenn relation. A good
-
relationship begins with being in a relationship with someone who's
-
able to put you first before themselves. Leave, Leave your
-
mother and father, leave, lead authorities, cleave. That's the commitment part.
-
That's a commitment by the cementing one. Not uniminity. That uniminity.
-
I have no faith in any couple tells me we
-
always get along. Ye see your reaction doesn't make sense. Yeah,
-
we've never we've never had an argument. What who are
-
you married to? Yourself?
-
Sho?
-
Uniminity is not the key? Understanding is the what's the key? Okay,
-
I gotta go through this fast. They did someplace else?
-
Now now now now, and then the naked the vulnerability
-
the key. The key to a successful relationship is wanting
-
to be vulnerable. Unless you're willing to be hurt by
-
the person you relate to, you don't have a relationship
-
if you have to protect yourself from that person. And
-
let me tell you them right now. If you ain't
-
got the guts to get hurt, you don't have the
-
gust to be in a relationship. Let me take it further.
-
If you don't have the guts to get hurt. You
-
have no business ever getting married. And that's why long
-
before you get married, listen to me, that's why, long
-
before you get married, Satan likes to batter you and
-
beat you and pummel you. So you lose the courage
-
to get hurt. Even in your relationship with Jesus, you
-
cannot love him unless you're willing to get hurt. I
-
read the Bible, whom the Lord loveth he chasing us,
-
he hurts. You can't build a relationship with God without
-
being willing to be hurt. Love, Rick choirs pain on
-
planet Earth. That's why the Lord gave us the church
-
gave us what church is full of what people? Your
-
biggest problem. Church is for the people. And God intended,
-
my dear brother, God intended let the church be his laboratory.
-
So you sit there on this row of people. You
-
don't know them, they don't know you. But here you're sitting.
-
You get on buses with strangers, go on the store,
-
go down to the downtown in DC, have to deal
-
with people behind desks, strangers. I'm praying for strength and
-
now not to pursue that. And so Rick, we have
-
to have your patience, and God plants people all around
-
and in the church. In the church, you see, see
-
the Lord knows. The Lord knows that in the context
-
surely of the church. The variety of folk know in
-
the church, if you get along with the folk in
-
the church, you're ready for heaven. Why because the church
-
has everything in it, doesn't it. They don't look at anybody,
-
just say a loud amen. All kinds of folks are in.
-
This church, soft heart, calm, excited, mean nice in the church.
-
They got baptized in the same pool you got baptized in.
-
And they say, men to the same sermons you do.
-
And they are in the church.
-
And some of them are really really really bad saepe.
-
And they're in the church. And God, in his great
-
wisdom is the wise says, if you can cohabitate here
-
in the church with all these various guys, and this
-
that's why God brings He requires when you come in church,
-
hug kiss, be nice, be sweet, bekind practice in the church.
-
But I can't stand them, Lord, hug them, kiss them
-
on Sabbath. I'm preparing you for heaven. But their cologne
-
smells to high Heaven. Huged them in the church the
-
breath always has garlic on it. Hug them, speak to them,
-
shake hands like this in the church. Are you listening
-
to your pastor sit on committees with them. They always
-
got wild, crazy ideas. Love them in the church. If
-
any man be in Christ, he's a new creature. Old
-
things are passed away. To be quote these texts, we
-
have no idea what we're saying can be cleaking up
-
in the church, getting along with everybody, always inviting the
-
same folk home, eat the same macaroni and cheese, Get
-
somebody fresh in your house, walk up to somebody you
-
don't know. I will say amen for you a amen. Now.
-
That relationship, that relationship described in Genesis two, verses twenty three,
-
twenty four, and twenty five, was a model of another relationship.
-
One John five seven, First John five to seven. I'm
-
not gonna finish the sermon today. I can see that
-
right now. I'm not worried about it. You've already got
-
enough truth. If I shut up right now, you got
-
enough to go home and think about it. And I
-
know that. Fir John five and verse seven. Look at this,
-
Look at this, look at this, See for their what
-
read everybody for their that do what Father, the word
-
how it goes? And what about them there?
-
What?
-
Now? This is the same Greek word used from the oneness,
-
the same Greek word that matches the Hebrew word in
-
Genesis two and verse twenty twenty twenty four. It's the
-
same oneness. See see. The oneness of the human family
-
was to duplicate the oneness of the heavenly family, and
-
then that unity was to influence of the relationships. Look
-
at John seventeen. Look at John seventeen, John seventeen. See
-
see look, look, look look verse twenty I pray THEE
-
for these alone, but for them also, which they'll believe
-
on me through their word, that they all may be
-
what you see in verse twenty one, all may be
-
what saying Greek word saying Greek word God, God, God,
-
listen to me. God wants the weress of heaven to
-
become the oneness of the marriage. And that same Greek
-
word for one was to be the oneness of the Church.
-
I'm not up. You're just beating my guns together talking
-
about how we all to be one on the Church.
-
That's Bible. And the thing that really really gets to
-
me is when Jesus praised this prayer and John seventy
-
for the church. He says nothing about Sabbath, nothing about law,
-
nothing about dress, nothing about diet, nothing about time. He
-
just prays that them folk in the church will get along.
-
You have to practice it. You have to practice it, folks.
-
This is not natural for us we come. We have
-
all kinds of walls and insecurities and pretenses. God bring
-
us the day when in the church we finally decide
-
we don't have to pretend anymore. And then he goes
-
on to say, look here, look at verse twenty three.
-
I in them, thou in me, that they may be
-
made perfect in what's the next word in that the
-
world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast
-
loved them, and as thou hast loved has loved them.
-
In other words, if I can just get first the
-
human family, mother and father to be the one. So
-
they show the kids out to be one. And then
-
these one folks come to the church with all the
-
other one folks, all this oneness. Then when folks visit
-
the church, that the world may know, that the world
-
may know when the folks visit the church, visit CPC,
-
they see all this one new They say there must
-
be a God somewhere. We have never seen nothing like this.
-
Watch how you act outre in the lobby of CPC.
-
Where's that one spirit tuning off the arms of us
-
just because they can't give you a seat standing in
-
God's church? Baker, to go in God's house with me?
-
Attitudes to worship the.
-
Lord every Sabbath is a challenge to oneness.
-
Now, the next thing I want to say is really
-
going to disturb you, and I hope you can get
-
over it. But it would be a wonderful thing if
-
we came Sabbath after Sabbath and always sat in a
-
different seat. Just think you might actually be able to
-
worship without sitting next to people that you like. Wonder
-
how that would feel. Now you're smiling, But folks, I'm serious.
-
There's so many ways that we express our insecurities. Got
-
to have my same seat in the church, up, sat
-
up sack. People calling the pastor who are all them
-
visitors sitting in my place? Pastor? You know, sometimes folk,
-
I get some calls. I just say, Lord, I need
-
your strength right now, because if I say what I'm thinking,
-
I have to leave the ministry. If I come here
-
to meet the lord who cares who I sit next to.
-
Somebody say, man, Now, marriage was to teach us certain things.
-
Are you with me? I'll do this and I'll close.
-
We'll pick up next week. I'll be preaching for the
-
morning service next weeks. We got to get up early
-
if you want to get the rest of it. Sorry
-
about that. No apology, No apology at all, good Ephesians. Ephesians,
-
trying to get to something basic here, something basic here.
-
Marriage was to do something. It's to be the mother
-
of what all human relationships? All right, you got that part.
-
All right, here's some things, baker. That marriage was to
-
teach us. We were to transfer to all human relationships.
-
Look at Ephesians five twenty one and twenty two. Ephesians
-
five twenty one, twenty twos. Ready, what do you see there?
-
Submitting yourselves how one to another in the fear of God?
-
Starts there, starts there. Next verse says, wife, submit yourself
-
to your own husbands. But the first verse twenty one
-
kicks it all words. Relationships begin with mutual respect. What
-
here's a question for you. Don't lie? Do you in
-
general respect other human beings? Let me too quick, see
-
some of us have formed the habit. In fact, we've
-
given ourselves permission to downsize other people. We do it
-
with a look. We make conclusions. See the way she's dressed.
-
She ain't got no sense? Well, fun, we do this
-
kind of stuff. Don't sit there a pious.
-
Yeah.
-
Successful relationships require a basic respect for another human being,
-
their right to be, their right to exist, their right
-
to function, their right to get in your way? Are
-
you respectful to other human people? Just on a journal?
-
Do you show people respect and regard? Not? Ready it?
-
I love it? Thank God for Daryl who love that
-
in my hand. Then then five twenty three you heard
-
me say I was about to finish. So I mean
-
I'm the one that said it five twenty three for
-
the husband. Now watch this first? First respect? What's the
-
first one we got to have? And I'm challenging you.
-
Some of you answer too quick. Do you really respect
-
of the human beings? I mean it is the way
-
you treat people in general. Let's lift them. Do people
-
feel better the way you talk to them, the way
-
you look at them? Do you make people feel better?
-
Do they leave you saying goodness? I'm serious, folk, and
-
we have to start practicing. Where in the all right,
-
five twenty three. Here it is for the husband is
-
the head of the wife, even as Christ is the
-
head of the church, and he is the savior of
-
the body. Are you a person? Listen? Are you a
-
person whose relationship with other people moves them to salvation?
-
Goes back to the pastor's favorite question when they come
-
trooping in my office, want to get married. Here's my fiance, Pastor, right,
-
will you do counseling? I got one first question. If
-
your eyes drop, ain't gonna be no counseling. Here's the question.
-
Has this relationship brought you closer to Christ? And I
-
want to see your eyes stay right in mind. If
-
the relationship is not salvific, it is a waste of
-
your time. Any relationship that does not send you to
-
Heaven is sending you to hell. Relationships are to be
-
salvation wise. That's why again, Denny and Esther, we have
-
these relations with the church. As you relate to people,
-
are you inspiring them to be saved? Or do you
-
make them wish they had never come to this church?
-
Marriage was to mother all this Ephesians five twenty five. Ooh,
-
look at this. Look at this, husbands, your wives, even
-
as Christ also loved the church and did what successful, profitable,
-
meaningful human relationship says ought to be self sacrificing marriage.
-
Who are sitting here today, who have children, Can your
-
children testify that they have seen the spirit of self
-
sacrifice between their mother and father, Dad giving way to mom,
-
mom giving way to dad, Dad putting mom first, Mom
-
putting dad first. Have they seen that sacrificing? And then people, people,
-
people that you deal with. I was, so, it's a
-
little thing, Daryl, But I was so proud of myself yesterday. Now, yeah,
-
the brother, the problem I have with this traffic. The
-
brother cut in front of me. Now, I drive an
-
actor TL most people. I can go around when I
-
feel like it. Yes, sir, I'll show you some gas
-
tank and a heartbeat. But the Lord, the Lord, no, no, no, no,
-
See I'm gross, said, I'm not just preaching you. I'm
-
growing in Christ. See some of you all marching and mud,
-
I'm growing in Christ. And so and so he cut
-
in front of me, and and and I looked at
-
what he was driving. I said. He said, turkey meat.
-
Uh huh, some said, and then he had the nerve,
-
had the nerve. Conte cut in front of me and
-
then says, thanking me. It was I'm talking about self sacrifice.
-
You're laughing. I'm talking about self sacrificed. And in that
-
moment God gave me Victor. I said, Conrad. Human relationships
-
that do not if Christ has not possessed you to
-
the point that He moves you to give way to another,
-
Christ does not own your heart. I gotta tell you
-
like it is you give way? Do you know how
-
to give way? Jens five twenty eight A Festians five
-
twenty eight. For so men so ought men to love
-
their wives as their Oh my goodness, he that loveth
-
his wife. That's a very interesting text. First mutual respect,
-
secondly love that says third sacrificial love eat Festians five
-
twenty eight, selfless love. These are the things I didn't
-
finish the sermon. These are the things. Go ahead, Darryl.
-
These are the things that the marriage will pick up
-
next week, next, next, next, next, next, Sabbath morning. These
-
are the things that marriage was to teach us. Did
-
you listen to your pastor today? Did you listen to
-
your pastor today? I'm taking you somewhere. I'm taking you somewhere.
-
How dare you leave this service today, going right on
-
as if you didn't hear this. This is why most
-
people will get married or not mature enough to get married.
-
These principles take the mature Christian, but you lift your
-
chin up. Pastor, I didn't know my mother and father.
-
I had no example. I understand the pastor of my
-
mother and father's marriage was a mess. I understand, Pastor,
-
of the few marriages I know have taught me. I understand.
-
That's why Christ came to this planet, lived in a
-
home where his brothers and sisters didn't even like him,
-
reach a Bible, grew up basically without his father, who
-
married a woman half his age, and showed that even
-
out of the mud, brokenness, a human being can be
-
full of love. Somebody saying, man, get your chin up,
-
calling on the ground, stop letting your past be your
-
Swede driver. Reach out to Jesus Christ, ask for the
-
courage to love, and then know He's gonna give you
-
lots of chance to practice. Somebody say, practice, I don't
-
give you lots of chance to practice. So my prayer
-
for you, I appeal to you to ask this precious
-
and wonderful Jesus to teach me. Teach me a love.
