-
Adventist Radio London inspiration for the song. We have been
-
for some time now dealing with the theme deeper haven't
-
we deeper prayer, deeper devotion, deeper Bible study, deeper health,
-
And a few weeks ago we slipped into this business
-
of deeper relationships under the thesis that most people who
-
will miss heaven will miss it over people. Human relationships,
-
more than any other thing, mess us up. I'll say
-
amen for you, amen. People will mess you up. And
-
we've said over and over again because you can't escape them.
-
You can't escape people, even if they put you in jail.
-
There's people in jail. Can't I get a witness in
-
this place? Go to the hospitals for the people, isn't it?
-
And even if you're in the car by yourself driving
-
on the highway, all beside you driving cars are people. People.
-
So they are humankind's greatest problem. And most of us
-
have getting along with people issues, whether we admit it
-
or not. And anyone who quickly says Cliff, I have
-
no problem getting along with people, they are lying to
-
their teeth. You may not have a lot of problems,
-
but you have some problem with somebody. And so this
-
relationship part. We started by talking about God. We said
-
that God is a relationship, father son, Holy Spirit. And
-
I find Daria that is no accident that God presents
-
himself as a relationship. And then we immediately understand then
-
how we are created, Meshack, because as you have father, Son,
-
Holy Spirit, the Holy Trinity, we have man, woman, children,
-
the human trinity, don't we? And we went want to
-
say that this Holy Trinity is sealed together, Brother McCoy,
-
by love for God is finish it love. Therefore, we said,
-
Harold Sandford, that if we're created in God's image, Gabrielle,
-
then we're also created to be able to love. Satan
-
understood this, Keith, and so when he tempted mankind, brother
-
reed to disobey God. Immediately we found Jacob Conte fracturing
-
in the human relationship. We took you there last Sabbath
-
in the second service. We remember well that conversation between
-
Adam and Eve after sin, and basically Adam sells out Eve,
-
does he not? And the fracture. Listen, the fracturing of
-
humanity and their relationship took place right after sin. So
-
human relationships are complicated by the sin problem. By what
-
put it simple sentence. I like simple sentences. If we
-
did not have sin, we'd get along. Isn't that something
-
so obvious? Richard? Right after in front of you. If
-
we didn't have sin in us, we would get along.
-
So then the pastor's gotta keep calm before he gets
-
into his real stuff. So then, if you're having problems
-
getting along with people, is because you have a sin problem.
-
Oh y'all so good? Did you hear these people? Claud
-
I can just shut up and let them preach this thing.
-
They got it. If you're having trouble getting along with folks,
-
you have a sin problem. That's obviously they have one too.
-
But one of the principles we're stressing in these sermons
-
is that the only way you can be better Richard
-
Gordon Jr. In a relationship, you got to take care
-
of yourself. See, we're too busy trying to fix the
-
other person and the relationship. I wish somebody would say, man,
-
that's our problem. We don't want to fix us. And
-
as an experienced counselor, I know the times that people
-
come trooping into my office with problems, and I know
-
before they open their mouth the purpose is the one
-
has brought the other for me to get that other
-
one straight. They've not brought them to get them straight. Now,
-
they don't say that. In fact, they even Passley say
-
I know, no, I know I have some faults too.
-
Is if that's some great announcement that this is a
-
momentous confession. Yeah, I have pat faults too, pass I
-
want to say, yeah, that's news. The hard thing to
-
grasp I'm gonna have in a minute. It's a man induction.
-
The hard thing to grasp, hard thing to grasp is
-
how much fixing I need. Now, let's pray, Father, as
-
we speak to your word today, speak to our hearts
-
in Christ's name. Amen, I'm gonna focus today on just
-
one aspect of the human relationship. Ron talking talking now now, now, now,
-
you you may want to loosen yourself up by just
-
conscientiously and mentally admitting that you have mouth problems. Yeah,
-
that's all right, just's just say that, just just just reflect,
-
Yeah that would most of us have hoof and mouth disease,
-
mostly mouth, very little hoof. We say things that we
-
should not say. Come on, and worse than that, Griffith,
-
we say them in ways we should not have said them.
-
In fact, sometimes for most of us, from any of us,
-
the problem isn't what we say, it's how we listen
-
to your preaching with the pastor all precious you are
-
in my sight and the Lord is smiling now because
-
you confess your sentence. It's how I said it. And
-
of course the problemeric with words is once they're out there.
-
See if we could just think about that before we
-
crack our lips. Once they're out there, you cannot snatch
-
them back because God has created the human brain with
-
an ear that immediately connects to the mind, and then
-
those words are convolus into the brain, the cerebral cortex
-
lodged there and they cannot be forgotten. Now after twenty years,
-
you may have trouble recalling them, but they are there,
-
she said, He's saying, yeah, so words, words. I want
-
to talk about words, Richard for a little while. I
-
will has much to say about words. The human relationship
-
is to be bonded, developed, evolve through love through what
-
the two ways that we express love there are two ways,
-
only two ways, words and deeds. Words and deeds. The
-
only way I know somebody loves me is by their
-
words or their deeds, true or false. It's it. That's it.
-
Words and deeds. Some of us are better at deeds,
-
some of us are better at words. Some do pretty
-
good with both. But words and deeds are the ways
-
that we express our love, our relationship, our valuing, our intent,
-
our regard, our appreciation, our disfavor. Words and deeds. The
-
two reasons why I want to talk about this, first
-
because words really do mess us up. And secondly, Jermaine
-
and the Joya, what's concerning the pastor? We are now
-
rearing a generation that does not know how to talk.
-
They know how to text, come on you, and I'm
-
not sure that some of us have awakened to the
-
fact A Brothers just dwife that we have a situation
-
where where the generation we're rearing does not know how
-
to sit and have a face to face conversation. Is
-
the pastor telling the truth? So sore? There's a couple
-
of reasons here, Shiryl, Well, I need to deal with
-
this because we have an adult problem and we have
-
a generational problem. So that so that face to face
-
and think about it, think it, think about it. The
-
most profitable communication comes when two people can look each
-
other in the eye and express what's on their mind.
-
Isn't that true? Such conversations, when done correctly, can be
-
immensely fruitful and restorative and productive. That will be elementary
-
for a minute. Our two main physical tools for communication
-
are mind and mouth. What are they here? It is so?
-
What you got mine in my mouth? And mind and mouth?
-
Their main tools are mind and mouths. Main tools for
-
communication are mind and Mouths. Main communication tools for communication
-
are words words. This connects with this, and then we communicate,
-
whether it be French, Spanish, English, whatever, through words, words, words,
-
awesome things words words, but words of still being elementary,
-
you better listen to your pastor and then go back
-
and buy this and listen to it again. But words
-
are conveyed in a context that is both physical and emotional.
-
The emotional part of words out is at it. It's
-
not just me that we say things, but the attitude,
-
the ambiance. Do you recognize them when you say certain
-
things to people? Marry Bangura and you have a certain attitude.
-
That attitude is stronger than the words. In fact, your
-
attitude can totally distort the words. Are you at me
-
so far? Let me have to spend two sermons on this.
-
But I'm laying the groundwork mind mouth, and the mind
-
and mouth use. Words and words are conveyed through an
-
emotional ambience called attitude and then but it doesn't stop there.
-
We also convey our words through physical medium. See not
-
just attitude, but facial expression, Huh are you with me?
-
Tone of voice, huh, body language, and circumstances. See a
-
lot of times it ain't what you said, it's when
-
you said it. Some of us are terrible at timing. Yes, yes,
-
are you thinking with me? I'm gonna go back through
-
this again. The emotional ambiance of words is attitude, what
-
is it? But then the physical the physical context of
-
words is the facial expression frowning or smiling, the tone
-
of voice harsh or saul, the body language, and of
-
course the circumstances. And so because of these things I've
-
just listed, verbal communication between man and man and man
-
and God, but particularly between man and man is one
-
of the most powerful and influential things that we do.
-
And so my subject, do you know how to talk
-
like a Christian? Now let's break some of this down.
-
Let's break some of this down. It's interesting that language
-
and words is included in the Ten Commandments. Exodus twenty.
-
Use your bible Exodus twenty and verse sixteen. Are you
-
in Exodus twenty? Good? Because I was in Genesis twenty,
-
and that won't help us at all. Here we go
-
Exodus twenty, verse sixteen. Now let's read it together. We
-
know this commandment, but I want to think about it now.
-
In the context of this sermon, thou come on everybody,
-
verse sixteen, Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy
-
neighbor words and communication. And if you read Ellen White's
-
comments on this commandment in the book Patriarchs and Prophet,
-
you realize this is doing deal with way more than
-
just lying. It's dealing with Deborah Safford, how you convey
-
your words. Let me give me an example. Bear false witness.
-
If I love my wife and I convey to her
-
in words that are harsh in that moment, I'm lying
-
about my love. I'm gonna say it again. I will
-
say it again. If I love my wife and I
-
convey words to her that are harsh than in that
-
moment I'm lying to her about my love because my
-
love being harsh, but my mouth is. Wasn't that a
-
good sentence? I worked on it all nay, Yeah, because
-
I wanted you to get that. I wanted you to
-
get I wanted you to see that. The commandment is
-
walking all up in your stuff, morgan lying here. If
-
you convey words, you see. But the lies bigger than
-
that false witness. I'm a Christian, and Christians act like Jesus.
-
So if my mouth is not acting like Jesus, then
-
I'm lying about my relationship with Jesus. It's a deep
-
commandment to a bottomless well. This commandment. Are you listening
-
to your pastor so? This thing is serious. The commandment,
-
the law spoken by God, written with his own finger,
-
trumps up into my mouth and calls me a liar,
-
a false witness if my mouth does not convey my
-
real feelings, or misrepresents my feelings, or misrepresents my relationship
-
with Jesus Christ, let the church say, man, So we
-
start with the commandment, but then proverb and these I'm
-
laying down before you, now some some some kind of
-
general principles. Look at Proverbs seventeen twenty seven. And I
-
know now, when I be able to finish this sermon,
-
that's all right. God will forgive me, and in time
-
you will too. I'll come back to it proverb seventeen
-
twenty seven. I was amazed folk as I did my
-
research how much the Bible has to say about talking.
-
And the more I studied, I said, well, God considers
-
this to be a major problem. Probably seventeen twenty seven. Oh,
-
do you see this text you're reading with me? He
-
that hath knowledge spareth his words that the Hebrew says,
-
a wise person watches what he says. See some of
-
us who have a tendency to be motormouth just talk
-
aus me feel like it and brag on it. I say,
-
what's on my mind? That's your problem. You just announced
-
your problem. This is no time for bragging. What are
-
you boasting about? Because I just read a texta says
-
that the of wisdom watches their words. And the reason
-
why you can't just say it because you feel it
-
is because you have this commandment that says you may
-
be a false witness. But it's bigger than that. I
-
got more text voice, bigger than that. So let's just
-
pause now because we need to as we go through
-
this to knee, step by step, we need to reflect.
-
Am I a person who thinks before I speak? Am
-
I a person who feels I have the right to
-
say it because I'm grown. Because the subject of the
-
sermon is not do you know how to talk? That's
-
not the subject of my sermon. The subject is you
-
want to talk like a Christian as God would speak.
-
You see you see if if you can be hanging
-
on a cross with your hands nailed and your feet
-
impeled and say, Father, forgive them, come on, somebody. There's
-
a level of communication we must always aim for. Some
-
of us are getting there. Some of us have learned
-
to keep our tongue when we're upset. God bless you.
-
The world's a better place. The problem is you just
-
don't do it all the time. But some of us
-
are growing. Some of you are sitting here right now
-
as I'm preaching, with wounds in your soul because you're
-
thinking about stuff you said that, by the grace of God,
-
you wish had never left your mouth. Some of us
-
have broken relationships because there's things we said. And some
-
of us have terrible relationships on our jobs and with
-
family because we've never learned to think before we speak. Now, now, Churel,
-
that leaves me to another text, Oh, Colossians four to six,
-
you're rushing there Colossium's for six. And you should go
-
back and take mark these texts in your bible and
-
then read them in privacy, praying for God's grace to
-
possess your tongue. Colossians four. This is a marvelous text here,
-
Colossians four and verse six. Let your speech be all
-
the way with with what yes, seasoned with salt. I
-
love these Bible texts season with sault, that ye may
-
know how you ought to answer every man, hay Lord,
-
have mercy. What a goal leland to reach for. To
-
be a person who knows how to speak to everybody
-
as a pitiful amen. That's a worthy goal. After all,
-
ladies and gentlemen, have we not been called by God
-
as his witnesses in the last days? People who are
-
going to people who are going to witness for God
-
need to know how to talk. That's why, Sybil, you
-
weren't given your family your family, so you got them
-
two children. The conversations between you and Robbie are to
-
be examples to your children as to how to talk. Oh,
-
my Lord, see some of us learned improper talk from
-
the folk we grew up with. It's all right, say
-
a loud amen. They may be sitting here, but it's okay.
-
You may love your mother and father, but some of
-
us learn curse words from mom and dad. Some of
-
us learned angry tones from mom and dad. One of
-
the versions of this passage in Colossians reads, watch this,
-
watch this. Be gracious in your speech. This is the
-
message Bible as the thoughts for say, I love this,
-
this is great. Be gracious in your speech. The goal
-
of Peterson has all it. He works that Greek word.
-
The goal is to bring out the best in others
-
when you talk to them. Did you hear that? Tink
-
about it? Now? Think about it. Now you're talking to
-
your spouse. You're talking to your spouse, the person you
-
live with. Is what you're saying, going to bring the
-
best out in them? That was a proper response you
-
just gave m. That was a good response. You need
-
to be thinking about that, one brother. That wasn't an
-
a man's statement. That was a you know, sometimes the
-
Bible just goes back. That was a serious text of scripture.
-
Didn't Peterson work with that? In fact, I didn't finish it.
-
I didn't finish it. It got excited. I didn't finish it.
-
Be gracious in your speech. The goal is to bring
-
out the best in others when you talk to them,
-
not put them down, not cut them up. Who excuse me, Lord,
-
have mercy. Now you put that with the other text.
-
Think before you speak. You realize you can't. You can't
-
do Colossians for six unless you practice Proverbs seventeen twenty
-
seve it. You got to think quite because you cannot
-
afford for your words to rip somebody up just cause
-
you feel like him. Yeah, Wow, I don't mind nerves.
-
I'm gonna give me a peace of my mind. That's
-
why some of us have no mind. Left too many
-
pieces spread all over the place. That was a good statement. Wonder,
-
there's nothing left. Peace with the kids, peace with the wife,
-
peace with the husband, peace with you. Ain't got nothing left,
-
blithering idiot. Yeah that's something, isn't it. Yeah, So here
-
we are, and then of course, and then, of course,
-
and then of course beyond the family situation. God, and
-
I come right back to it in every sermon. I
-
keep coming back to it because some of us have
-
not learned yet heard that the church is the laboratory.
-
See the home, that is the acculturation, that is the training. Place.
-
But the laboratory to practice proper speech is with the
-
church members. How do you talk to your fellow church members?
-
And some of us don't have good reputations there, and
-
our attitives about it trouble me. Well they just have
-
to live with it. Well you keep that up. The
-
hobby wind up living in heaven without you. This thing
-
of speech is powerful, and of course everybody knows there's
-
the way in the world the preparassing in peace Discerm
-
without stepping on his own toast because we all have
-
faults here, some of us rassele more Keith, because we
-
have the melancholic temperament, the calaric temperament. Clarics just pop off.
-
Now they calm down, the pop off and then they
-
get over it. They give over it. Leave you bleeding
-
in this bleeding in the street. Now, what's your problem?
-
What's your problem? Yeah, they going on to Clark hen
-
because the Clark's not melancholics. Melancholics holds up and you
-
ain't gon mean, you be bleeding bent over and they're
-
going on, they whistling, what's your problem? Melancholic is holding it,
-
holding it, holding it. The sign wind just says stuff.
-
Didn't even think about the effect. They happy, figure everybody
-
else's happy. And the phlegmatic won't say what they need
-
to say until they're so pushed it comes out terrible. MM.
-
And the and the basis for it? What's the basis
-
for it? Sin? Our problem is a sin problem. Our
-
problem is a sin problem. Now, we talked about these tools.
-
We talked about these tools. Let me break it down.
-
The first tool we have is the mind. What is it?
-
Proverbs twenty three seven? Proverbs twenty three seven. We knowing
-
pretty good, I might be able to finish Proverbs twenty
-
three seven. And I'm not gonna rush this because this
-
is just two important folks, just too important, and I'm
-
praying for all of us to have victory. I want
-
CPC to be an exemplary church, wants to be exemplary Christ.
-
And we can do this. Don't, don't, don't. We can
-
do this. I know we're smiling. We can do this.
-
Proverbs twenty three seven. All right, we're gonna talk about
-
the mind. The mind is too now now watch this,
-
watch this because this text is very very very important.
-
Proverbs twenty three seven. You see it. I'm in the KJV.
-
Read with me for us he thinketh in his heart.
-
So is he? Pause here, we don't need the rest
-
of it. Pause there, your mind and the mind listen.
-
The mind is in the mind is an accinulation of
-
everything that you are up until the moment that you
-
open your mouth. The mind is daily, monthly, already being
-
influenced by all kinds of circumstantial stuff. The mind is
-
who you are. The mind is the sum total of
-
you up to this second. And the Bible says, as
-
the bye, as a person thinketh, that's who they are.
-
Another text you just says your thoughts betray you. So
-
what comes out here is the result of what's stored
-
up here. Dirty mouth, dirty mind, swearing mouth, swearing mind,
-
offensive mouth, offensive brain, unfeeling mouth, unfeeling mind. Are you
-
with me? Your words, the tone, the timing are all
-
telling on you. And let me be perfectly frank and serious. Now,
-
if you could measure what's your mouth is doing to
-
your reputation, some of us would shut up more because
-
your mouth is making you unpleasant to be around. Your
-
mouth is making you a poor witness for Jesus Christ,
-
and your mouth may be slaying those closest to you.
-
As a man thinketh, so is he. Proverbs four twenty
-
three keep thy heart with all diligence, And the word heart,
-
and the Old Testament is the word for mind. So
-
let's read about the word mind in there. Come on,
-
keep thy mind, everybody again, keep thy mind with all diligence,
-
for finish it out of it are the issues of
-
life here. You are constantly bombarded, constantly bombarded, constantly bombarded.
-
And as a result of things we've been through, Glenn sometimes,
-
I mean even some of us have been sexually molested.
-
Some of us have grown up and without knowing our parents.
-
Some of us grown up with with the abusive people.
-
Some of us have some of us have grown up
-
in poverty and so forth, and so so we have
-
grown up with issues with issues. This is why when
-
people come to me who've been courting, and you come
-
to me too soon, you ain't heard enough issues out
-
of that person's mouth, only knowing I have only known
-
each other three four months, and you're ready to get married.
-
You want to You want to hang around a bit
-
longer and get all the issues here, the misues, the
-
issues up here. You know, anybody can act right for
-
three or four months. You want to catch them in
-
all kind of situations, so that the issues focus bad
-
defined issues. After you say I do, get them issues out,
-
get all them issues squeezed out, let them catch you
-
on a bad day, and let you catch them on
-
a bad day, and then see what issues arise. I'm
-
going to make in sense to you because the Bible says,
-
out of the mind come the issues, the issues, the issues.
-
So we have to be careful about this because this
-
influence is this. And so then Jesus understood this. Jesus
-
understood this. Go to mark. Jesus understood this. Mark one
-
to twenty three. Jesus understood this. So here's what Jesus said. Man,
-
this is a mess. This text is a popper, Jesus said.
-
Jesus said, starting in verse twenty one of March seven,
-
for from within, out of the heart, what works you
-
Go there, let's read it with mine. Come on, For
-
from within, out of the mind of men precede what
-
evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, coveteousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness,
-
and evil eye blasphe me, pride, foolishness. All these, all
-
these evil things come from within and defile the man.
-
Those are the issues that need to be sniffed out
-
before you say I do. And so let's put it
-
in a simple sentence of brother McCoy. The problem with
-
the mouth is not here, right, it's here, it's here.
-
The problem with the mouth is in your mind. I'm
-
not gonna try to finish a folk. Listen to your
-
pastor just just just just listen to me. Let me,
-
let me, let let me love you with my words.
-
Every time you open your mouth, you have an opportunity.
-
Every time you open your mouth, you have an opportunity.
-
Every time you speak a word, you have an opportunity.
-
Next sentence, The opportunity cannot be shaped by the other person.
-
The opportunity must be shaped by your relationship with Jesus.
-
Do you know how to talk like a Christian? And
-
the day is far spent, It's over, It's long past over.
-
The time has passed by when the members of God's
-
church can make as their excuse for a faulty mouth
-
the actions and words of somebody else. A Paul is
-
bragging now, but not on himself. I I'm in Philippians,
-
for I can do all things through Christ, who gives
-
me strengths. There's no greater victory here, the preacher, There's
-
no greater victory in a moment, Tanya, when you would
-
cut loose, when your mouth would be a fault. No
-
greater victory then when you just pop button it off.
-
Just hold it. You talk about a moment of victory.
-
Just hold it and then lashing out at you. Just
-
hold it. They're saying stuff, you know, Then just hold
-
that and feel the sirge of the holy ghost inside
-
of you, that same holy ghost that rested on Jesus.
-
The Bible tells me, though he tread the wine press alone,
-
and though that he opened up, how do you do
-
that when you're God? Because he knows his words can destroy,
-
He better hold his mouth. He better not say what
-
if feeding hands will wither and Roman guards will disappear.
-
He had to hold it. He said. No, I'm gonna
-
give Henry munroll right the same power if he as
-
for it. If he stops giving himself permission and making
-
excuses for his sorry self. They made me mad. If
-
you that week you ought to stay in bed all day, Wow,
-
nobody can make you anything. Stop using that flame excuse
-
for un Christian conduct. Be a man, be a woman,
-
straightened up and take responsibility for your mouth. Wow, I
-
don't care if you had a rough week all week.
-
Don't walk in CPC thinking we all got to pay
-
for it. Keep yourself under him. That is your savior.
-
And you'll find as you climb these little mount embrass
-
as you climb these molehills, you'll find as you as you,
-
as you're creating your as you're creating yourself. Keith and avenue,
-
an avenue where the spirit can work and give you victory.
-
And you start enjoying, You start enjoying it, you start
-
you walk away, smarty hot didn't get me, didn't get me,
-
didn't get me. Can you imagine him standing there, and
-
the and the and the and the soldiers of hair
-
and are spitting in his face. Ellen White says he
-
never answered hair in a word. He better not half,
-
He better not have such insults to the King of
-
kings and lord of war. If he had cracked his lips,
-
Herod would have withered right there. Some of you have
-
cracked your lips, and people you love have withered and died.
-
Loving them has died. They don't tell you, but you've
-
wounded them. So bad. They can hardly stand it. How
-
dare you think you have the right to do that?
-
Cost you upset? Stop dumping your sorry pain on other people.
-
Be mad enough, woman enough to bear your own pain.
-
How dare you make somebody in your home suffer because
-
you got an attitude? Take your burden to the Lord,
-
leave it there, leave your spouse alone, set your children free.
-
I'm not gonna respond to that. I'm gonna leave that alone. Daryl,
-
Why don't you play something on them keys? He's praying
-
the song. Have thine own way, Lord, have thine own way.
-
Thou art the partner. Finish it with me? I am
-
to Clay. Isn't that sweet? My mouth? Folk? I love
-
you so much. I'm trying to move us to another
-
level this year, Pastor determined. I'm pouring my heart out
-
before the Lord and before I preest these sermons. I'm saying, Lord,
-
I want a pastor a bunch of Christian people. I've
-
been at this thing for forty six years. I want
-
to pastor Christians people. Christianity is no longer in the
-
sabast New quarterly people. Christianity is not in case. They
-
listen to him, saying queeple who's Christianity is written all
-
in their cerebral cortex. It pours up, it pours up.
-
They can't hold it in. I want a pastor church
-
like that. I know we're able, and you need a
-
pastor like that. So you got to pray for me.
-
It's bar heads. I'll finish this in a couple of weeks. Father,
-
it's a lot to take on, anything about it. Jesus
-
is I've prepared the sermon. You kept telling me this
-
is so simple. Why does that have to be breached?
-
But it does. It's so obvious. But the problem is, Lord,
-
we talk all the time. We talk so much that
-
we don't give thought to the fact that we're doing
-
something powerful, awesome, either destructive or productive. So we must
-
begin this prayer by saying that the words of my
-
mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in
-
thy sight, O Lord, my Strength, my Redeemer. Let's say
-
it again together, folks. Let the words of my mouth
-
and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight,
-
Oh Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer. That is our prayer,
-
that is our testimony. Now you want the Lord to
-
look down upon you. Now you want the Lord to
-
look down upon you and to help you. If that's
-
the case, like me, right now, you're raising your hand
-
toward heaven. You're raising your hand toward heaven. You're raising
-
your hand toward heaven. And now your challenge, your heads
-
are bowed, your eyes or close, your challenge for the
-
incoming week. I don't know how you did this past
-
week with the assignment, but your challenge for this coming week.
-
If I can't say it right, I won't say it
-
at all. If I can't say it right, remember body language,
-
Remember facial expression, Remember tone of voice. That's an ambiance,
-
remember attitude. If I can't say it right, I won't
-
say it. I don't say that with me. If I
-
can't say it right, I won't say it at all.
-
My appeal now, if there is some soul here today
-
but offered Jesus the gift of their life, you want
-
him to have his way in you today. You've been
-
thinking about becoming a part of CPC, maybe coming forward
-
from Bible studies, maybe simply to transfer your membership. You'd
-
like to do that right now, Just slip from your seat,
-
come forward at this moment you're here. Somebody will do that.
-
Where the pastor finishes his prayer. Just come, Lord God,
-
you've spoken to us today a strong word. It's a
-
strong word that has come from your book. We will
-
not be able to do this without your help. We
-
are beset with sin and self. We will need your help.
-
You will need your help to get to the sabbath
-
and keep quiet. If we can't say it right to
-
get started today, we will need your help. Bless us
-
to that end in Jesus' name. And the people said,
-
was this a benefit to you? Serious stuff, isn't it?
