Joshua chapter 1, starting in verse 1.

Let me read it, and you can follow along as well.

After the death of Moses, the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua, the son of Nun, Moses' assistant.

Moses, my servant, is dead.

Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel.

Verse 3 every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon, I have given to you.

Hallelujah.

That was a good shouting spot right there.

Just as I promised Moses, from the wilderness and this Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, and all the land of the Hittites to the great sea, toward the going down of the sun shall be your territory.

No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life.

There you go.

Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.

I will not leave you or forsake you.

Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land I swore to their fathers to give them.

Only be strong and very courageous.

Be careful to do according to all the law that Moses, my servant, commanded you to do.

Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success.

You got two more verses in you?

Okay.

Don't tempt me with a good time now.

My gosh.

She said, Go for three.

I'm just gonna go for two.

This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it.

For when, uh for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Have I not commanded you?

Be strong and courageous.

Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Father, in the name of Jesus, breathe upon your word today.

Let it do what it has been sent out to do in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Come on, someone say amen.

Let me ask you this question as we open up this morning.

What if the thing you've been praying for is something that God is waiting for you to walk into?

What if the thing that you've been praying and asking the Lord for, God is actually waiting on you to walk into it?

We read this story right here in Joshua chapter one.

Uh last week, how many you remember what I said?

You need to embrace and embark.

And the way you embrace and embark is you have to be bold enough to bury and you have to be brave enough to stand.

Come on now.

Why?

Because God is calling us to go all in.

Do I have any people that want to go all in?

Woo-woo-woo.

Glory.

I'm telling you, God is calling us to go all in.

He's calling us to go all in into his promises, into our future.

He's calling us to not have any hesitancy to walk in the fullness of what he has called us for.

And so here we read about Joshua, and God tells him, Moses, my servant, is dead.

Now therefore arise.

But after he tells them, now therefore arise, he begins to lead Joshua not from behind, but from in front of him.

You see, here's what you need to understand.

The enemy always wants to push you.

God is pulling you.

Come on now.

God wants to paint a picture for for you in your in your in your front of you, in your vision, not trying to push you out of something, but he's trying to get you into something.

He wants to pace you into something.

Does that make sense?

Because I how many understand?

I I ask people all the time, and and while I sit down with people all the time, they say, Well, how do I know if it's God or if it's if it's the enemy?

How do I know if it's God or if it's me?

And I ask them, Where's the peace?

Because if you ain't got no peace, it's probably not God.

Why?

Because one of the names of God is the Prince of Peace.

One of the functions of God is not to push you into something, but to pull you into something.

Now, aren't you just wrestling with semantics?

There, no, I'm not, because here's what I know about the enemy.

Now, Paul said this we do not give him glory, but we are not ignorant of his devices.

So whenever you feel pressured, whenever you feel pushed, let me tell you, my friend, that's not God.

That's probably your enemy.

Because the enemy would love nothing more for you to move on something that's not God.

That's right.

That's right.

He pushes you, reminding you of your past and defining you of just what you have been through and just what you have done.

But God does not do that to you.

God, watch how God moves and operates with his people.

God puts a picture in front of you and he begins to paint something in front of you that he himself sees.

Why does he do that?

Because he can see the end from the beginning.

He knows your life at the end and at the beginning.

He lives outside of time.

Are you with me?

I'm not geeking out too much on anybody, am I?

Okay.

Because he lives outside of time, he can get on and off the train of time anytime he wants.

And so even though you were born in 1975, he already sees the abundance of your life in 2026.

And because he sees the abundance of your life in 2026, whenever he found you in 2005, he painted a picture of your 2026 at 2005, and he says, Listen, you don't have to live how you've been living all the way up until this point.

Because I'm here and I see your your preferred future.

If you just would come into alignment with me, if you would just see what I see, you can have what I say you can have.

That's right.

God begins to paint his picture on our lives that way we can desire his picture.

And this is what he's doing right here to Joshua.

Moses, my servant, is dead.

Joshua, you got to get up because I'm causing you and I want you to cross over the Jordan into a land that I have already promised to my people.

Let me back up.

Can I back up a little bit?

Let's talk about this seeing what God sees.

I tell people this all the time.

I could see something on the inside of you that you cannot see for yourself.

You come and hang out with me for any amount of time.

I could see your giftings, I could see your potential, I could see the workings of God and what God wants to do in your life.

I mean, that it's a gift that I have for your life.

Does that make sense?

At the same time, I tell people this I can see something in you that you can't see in yourself.

At the same time, I cannot want something for you that you do not want for yourself.

Make sense?

Yes, sir.

And so I could sit before you all all the time, and we could go out to coffee or we could be here in a service, and I could have a download, a word of wisdom from the Lord, and I could say, Man, this is about you, that's about you, this is about you.

And you could sit there and be like, Oh, yeah, that's right.

That's amazing.

How did you know that?

And I say, That's the spirit of God.

You know, I'm not that good.

Can I get an Amen?

Somebody I mean, I'm good, but I'm not that good.

But here's the thing I could tell you all these different things, but if you do not have an attitude about you that you say, I actually want to live in that thing, you I can see something in you that you can't see in yourself, but I can't want something for you that you don't want for yourself.

And the same thing with the Lord.

The Lord sees something on the inside of you that you can't see in yourself.

How we know that?

Because the Bible says, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us when we were enemies with God, He He became a friend to us.

Why did He do that?

Because He saw something on the inside of you.

You might have looked in the mirror and saw heathen, but he looked at you and he saw whole my God.

You might have looked in the mirror and saw sinner, but he looked at you and said, Saint.

Why?

Because he saw something in you that you could not see in yourself.

At the same time, he cannot want something for you that you do not want for yourself.

So whenever you heard the message of the gospel that the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life, what did God do?

God began to paint a picture for you of a preferred future.

Make sense?

So you begin to see that, and as you saw it, God gave you the ability to enter into it.

Why?

I'm gonna give you a one-liner right here.

Because what you see, you can seize what you see, you can seize.

So God painted a preferred future in your life, and because He lets you know that you don't have to be a sinner anymore, that you could be a saint.

For many of us in the room, we said, I like that and I want that.

And because I saw it and I wanted it for myself, I determined that I was going to enter into it.

Does that make sense?

So that's what God does.

God paints a picture for you that way you can see what he sees, that way you can have what he says you can have.

Make sense?

God is painting a preferred future for you because he is inviting you to enter into that thing.

It's not a preferred, it's not a future of poverty and lack, it's a it's a future of more than enough.

It's not a future of bound up and messed up, it's a future of freed and delivered.

Make sense?

It's a preferred future, and so here's God, and he knows this about humanity.

And so he goes to Joshua and he begins to talk to Joshua and he begins to paint a preferred future.

Remember contextually here, Joshua's leader had just died.

Joshua's standing in front of millions of people holding the bag, having the lead.

I would imagine he's probably scared.

That's why in the first nine verses, be not afraid showed up like nine times.

You know what I'm talking about?

Because your boy probably was shaking at his boots.

But God understood if I could allow Joshua to see what I see, he can then enter into what I want him to enter into.

Why?

Because when you see a thing, you can seize a thing.

So here's God not pushing him into his future, but here's God pulling him into his future.

And how does God begin to paint the picture for Joshua?

I'm glad you asked that because that's the question I'm about to answer for you all today.

Someone say glory.

Watch this now.

I broke it down into three words.

He paints the picture for Joshua.

Number one, with vows.

Number two, with vision.

Vows, number one, vision, number two, and number three is victory.

How does God paint a preferred future for Joshua?

Number one, with vows.

Watch this, what he says to Joshua.

He looks at Joshua after he says, Moses, my servant, is dead, and he says, This I am giving them a land.

I am giving you a land.

What does God do?

He releases a promise to Joshua.

He makes a vow to Joshua.

My God.

Do you understand that God is unable to lie?

He is fully incapable of lying.

If you understand the nature of God, there is one thing that he cannot do, and he cannot lie.

So whenever he looked at Joshua and he gave him a vow and he promised him a land, he did not do that just to convince Joshua to take a journey and say, once he's on the journey, I'm gonna rip the rug right out from underneath him.

That's not what God does, that's not how God operates.

Why?

Because the Bible tells us in Hebrews that he who promised is faithful.

So whenever God gave Joshua a promise, Joshua could go to the bank with that thing.

Why?

Because whenever God promises a thing, he will fulfill the thing that he promised.

So here's Joshua having a conversation with the Lord, and God begins to paint this picture for Joshua.

And the very first thing he does for Joshua is he picks up the brush of the promise.

Joshua, I am going to give these people this land.

It's already theirs.

Really?

That's right, Joshua.

It already belongs to them, it already belongs to you.

But all you have to do is begin to walk the land.

All you have to do is put a step to what you are sensing.

All you have to do is put a pace to the promise.

Oh, come on now.

I'm telling you right now, God not only spoke that to Joshua, He's speaking that to you even now this morning.

He is He is painting a picture for you, and He is releasing a vow to you.

He's releasing a promise to you.

And maybe that promise is healing, maybe that promise is freedom, maybe that promise is complete deliverance.

I don't know what that promise is, but my friend, understand this: whatever it is, it's a preferred future that God has for you.

Hallelujah.

The Bible says that all the promises of God are yes and amen.

So you need healing, he says yes, and you say amen.

You need freedom, he says yes, and you say amen.

Come on now.

You need reconciliation, he says yes, and you say amen.

Come on, whatever you need.

I'm here this morning to tell you that God is releasing a promise over your life.

He's calling you to go all in.

And one of the things that can that you can that that you can be confident in it is he is promising you a preferred future.

And whatever it is that he tells you, whatever it is that he promises to you, he is going to fulfill that thing.

Joshua, I'm gonna give you this land.

I've already given it to the people.

What does he go on to say?

Every place, every place that your foot treads, it belongs to you.

You better get walking, Joshua.

You better get moving, Joshua.

Come on now.

What did God do?

He gave him a promise, but he didn't just stop there with painting the picture with the promise.

He began to paint a vision for Joshua.

Every place that you put your foot, Joshua, it belongs to you.

And what does God say?

He says, from this wilderness to Lebanon, from Lebanon to the great river, from the great river all the way to the great sea, and to this to the setting down of the sun.

You see, we read those things and we don't fully grasp what God was saying in that moment.

You think it's just a lesson on geography.

Oh, yeah, okay, the wilderness.

Yeah, that's great, Pastor Here.

Oh, Lebanon.

Oh, yeah, sure.

I don't know where that's at, but I believe it.

Yeah, I believe there is a you know.

But whenever God spoke this to Joshua, Joshua understood exactly what God was saying.

Watch this now.

Whenever God spoke to Joshua and He said, I'm giving you this wilderness, God was speaking to Joshua in a wilderness place.

So, what was God saying?

This is and this is this is God being God.

Understand this about the Lord, He is hyper intentional.

Make sense, like He knows what He's doing.

Don't believe me, just look at our atmosphere, the perfect amount of oxygen and hydrogen.

Look at the water, right?

Hydrogen, oxygen, too.

I mean, what the heck?

Like you have to have perfect conditions in order for this to happen.

Maybe there is a God.

Oh God knows what exactly we're doing.

He's hyper intentional.

So when he goes to Joshua and he begins to talk to Joshua and he says, I'm giving you even this wilderness, he was saying, I'm not just uh he says, I'm not erasing your past, I'm redeeming your past.

You see, Joshua, you've been walking in this area for 40 years and you think it was a waste, but it I'd waste nothing.

Come on now.

You think you've been walking in this thing for 40 years and you've been waiting to cross over.

God is saying, because I sustained you in this past season, I will be able to sustain you in the next season.

Because I so because I showed myself strong in the wilderness, I can show myself strong in the promise.

My God.

So God looks at Joshua and He says, I am redeeming your past.

My friend, he's saying the same thing to you this morning as he is painting a preferred future for you, and he's inviting you into a greater reality of where you have been and where he is bringing you into.

He is saying, Let me tell you something.

I'm not disregarding your past, I have redeemed your past.

And if I could show myself strong when you are running away from me, I could show myself even greater when you are right in alignment with me.

But God doesn't stop there just in the wilderness.

He goes, I'm gonna give you Lebanon as well.

Here's what you need to get deep down in your spirit about Lebanon.

Lebanon was known to have tall, strong cedar trees.

So whenever God spoke to Joshua and He said, I'm giving you this wilderness and I'm giving you Lebanon, God was saying, I'm bringing you into a place of great strength.

Not only am I going to redeem your past, but I am going to blow up your potential.

Thank you, Lord.

Come on now.

He not only takes care of your past, he takes care of your potential as well.

Then he talks about the great river Euphrates and all these different things.

I don't have time to talk about them this morning, but just understand.

This God began to paint a picture for Joshua, and it was a greater picture than what Joshua had ever known.

And my friend, God wants to do the same thing for you.

Your future is greater than your past.

Your future is greater than your past.

So God delivers a promise to Joshua.

He gives him a vow and then he begins to paint a vision for Joshua.

But he does not stop there.

The third thing that God does for Joshua, you ready for this?

After he tells him, this is where you're going to go, this is what I'm going to give you.

This is the land.

Between me and you, I maybe got into a fight or two after I was saved.

Just like a week or two afterwards, you know, God was still sanctifying your boy.

All right.

The last fight I ever got into was two weeks before I left for Dallas, Texas, to go to Bible college.

I was at a house party, and an all-state football player was there, and he whooped the snut out of me.

And I said to myself, I'm never fighting another human being for the rest of my life in Jesus' mighty name.

I've been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

I am saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost.

Can I get an amen, somebody?

But whenever God speaks to Joshua and He gives him the guarantee for victory, for those of us who are maybe once a fighter, or maybe you're still a fighter, don't raise your hand, anybody.

He said, I'm giving you a promise of new land.

I'm allowing you to see greater than what you've ever seen before.

And Joshua, Joshua, Joshua, you're gonna win.

You're gonna win.

But wait, God, aren't you calling me into the land of the Hittites?

Remember, we read that earlier in Joshua chapter 1.

I'm gonna give you the wilderness and Lebanon and the great river, and I'm taking you into the land of the Hittites, and I'm taking you to the Great Sea.

Now hold up now, God.

Okay.

You kind of just breeze over that Hittite one for just a second.

Aren't there enemies in this land that you're taking me into?

Yes, there are.

But understand this, Joshua.

There is no enemy that you face that will be able to take you out.

Here's what's amazing about walking into your preferred future from the Lord.

Here's what's what's what you need to get deep down in your spirit.

Whatever you understand that God is allowing you to let go of your yesterday in order for you to walk into your tomorrow.

Here's what you need to understand.

Are you ready?

There are some promises released from the Lord that will only be given to you through contention.

Not because God is a contentious God, but because the enemy doesn't want to give up what God has clearly given to you.

But that doesn't mean you're not gonna have to fight nothing.

That's right.

Come on.

Well, I believe I'm above and not beneath.

You are above and not beneath, but that doesn't mean that you're not gonna have to wrestle something.

God looked at Joshua in that moment.

He said, Joshua, I'm taking you into a land that is fully yours, but there are still enemies in that land.

But understand this, Joshua.

No man, no man will be able to stand against you all the days of your life.

So, Joshua, you might have a fight, but it is completely against my nature, says the Lord, for you to live outside of victory.

Let me say it another way.

Demonic attacks come, but it is unscriptural for you to live defeated.

Can I say it again another time?

Demonic attacks come, but it is completely unscriptural for you to live defeated.

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.

Victory is your portion.

My friend, God is calling you into greater, He's calling you into a preferred future.

He's releasing his promise over you.

He's painting that picture, he's giving you his vision, he's telling you I can redeem your past.

I'm giving you a great future.

I'm doing all these things, but at the same time, understand this what you are walking into, you're gonna have to fight some things.

But take heart, you're gonna win over those things.

Hallelujah.

I was talking with somebody not too long ago, and they were talking about, man, there's there's this thing that I want to enter into, but I've never seen it as a reality in my family.

And I let them know you're the I said that that's okay.

You're the one that's gonna turn the tide, you're the one that's gonna break it through.

And let me tell you something, whenever you have been called the one to turn the tide and to break it through, when you've been called to cross over the Jordan and enter into a promised land, and there's enemies in the land that you are supposed to occupy, understand this God has already given you the victory, God has already set it up that no matter what you face, if He has called you into it, you will win.

You guys remember that?

Do you understand?

Moses never lost a battle that God called him into.

Ever.

So if God called him into a battle, God was with him, and Moses won every single time.

So God looks at Joshua and he says, Hey Joshua, you know how Moses never lost?

Whenever I called him to do something and he said yes to doing it, remember how he never lost a battle?

Joshua, if I call you into something, I'm gonna cause you to never lose a battle either.

Amen.

Thank you, Moses.

And I know that kind of goes contrary to a lot of the minds of people, Christians, why you can't tell people that we have victory every day.

Why not?

Come on.

Greater is he who is in me than he who is in the world.

Jesus did say, Jesus did say, in this life you will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world.

Right, right.

Because he overcame, you can overcome.

You are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus.

Hallelujah.

My friend, get this deep down in your spirit today.

God is calling you to go all in, he is calling you to cross over the Jordan and to enter into your promised land and get this deep down in your spirit.

He has given you that as a promise.

If he said it, he's going to do it.

Hallelujah.

But not only has he given you a the vow and given you the promise, he has a vision for you.

He can see something in you that you don't see in yourself, and he's inviting you, he's pulling you, he's calling you, he's saying, Come, come, come, come, come.

And even beyond that, he's saying, What I'm calling you into and what I'm giving you.

Yeah, you might have to face some things, yeah, you might have to fight some things, but take heart.

You win.

You win.

You win.

You win.
