Luke chapter 10 and verse 1.
Luke 10 chapter mention
-
And I'm gonna have you stand one more time for the reading of God's word, okay?
-
And if you get up anytime after this, that's on you.
-
That's not on me.
-
Alright?
-
Have you found Luke chapter 10 yet?
Luke 10 chapter mention
-
Yes, sir.
-
Awesome.
-
It reads like this after these things, the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before his face in every city and place where he himself was about to go.
-
So catch this picture here.
-
Jesus was wanting to do ministry in new territories and new places, and before he went, he sent his crew to prepare the way.
-
Make sense?
-
Verse 17.
-
Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name.
-
And he said to them, I'm telling you, this is one of the coldest lines I've ever read in scripture, right here, okay?
-
One of the best lines.
-
And he said to them, I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
-
Okay, Jesus.
-
Okay.
-
I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
-
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
-
Nevertheless, someone said, Nevertheless.
-
Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.
-
Woo!
-
Let's pray.
-
Heavenly Father, I thank you that your word is doing what the word has been sent out to do today.
-
It goes out and it does not return back to you, void.
-
Lord, your word is sharp, your word is skillful, and so, Lord, today cut what needs to be cut, remove what needs to be removed, lift what needs to be lifted, break what needs to be broken in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
-
Father, anoint me with a peculiar anointing today to deliver not an oration of a man, but an oracle from your heavenly throne room.
-
In Jesus' mighty name, Lord, I thank you that every distracting spirit and hindering thing is sitting down and shutting up today.
-
And that you, Jesus Christ, are glorified.
-
You're the name that's lifted high.
-
You're the name that we magnify, that receives all the glory, all the honor, and all the praise.
-
And it's in that powerful name we pray, Jesus.
-
Amen.
-
Come on, someone, shout Amen.
-
Amen.
-
You may be seated.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Oh, yeah.
-
You feel that in the room already this morning?
-
Now listen, I know some of y'all came here because your loved ones are getting baptized.
-
I'm grateful for that.
-
Give it up for everybody who's giving getting baptized today.
-
Amen.
-
So grateful for that.
-
Uh, but I'm telling you this morning, you came to church on a great Sunday.
-
You want to know why?
-
Because I'm continuing a message called the power of his name.
-
And particularly this morning, I want to talk to us how the power of his name, watch this now, gives you and I authority over the devil.
-
The power of his name gives us authority over the devil.
-
Understand this today.
-
There are names that carry influence, there are names that open doors, there are names that get attention, but there is one name that causes hell to tremble.
-
One name that demons recognize, one name that sickness responds to, one name that darkness cannot resist.
-
Come on, if you know that name, I'll dare you to shout the name on the count of three, like you know it's true.
-
One, two, three.
-
Come on, shout! Hallelujah.
-
I'm telling you, friend, today, there is power in that name.
-
There is power in that name over every work and every scheme and every plan of the devil that's been assigned to your life.
-
Hallelujah.
-
The disciples returned amazed, not because they had discovered their power, but because they had discovered his name.
-
And what they discovered is still true today.
-
You ready for this?
-
The power of his name still today gives you and I authority over the devil.
-
Look at your neighbor and say, I got authority over the devil.
-
Look at your other neighbor and say, You got authority over the devil too.
-
Uh huh.
-
I'm telling you this morning for first service, it kind of went off in this room.
-
You know what I mean?
-
People were standing, people were shouting.
-
So I invite you if you need to stand and shout too, go ahead and stand and shout.
-
Now make sure it's a good point.
-
Okay, that's what I was afraid of right there.
-
I'm telling you right now.
-
Uh-huh.
-
But I I'm telling you this morning, uh, get excited, get happy, get encouraged.
-
You want to know why?
-
Because Muhammad could not do this for you.
-
Allah could not do this for you.
-
Come on now.
-
Confucius could not do this for you.
-
The only one that could do this for you was not a doctor, was not a counselor, was not a best friend.
-
The only one that was able to heal me, to save me, to set me free was a man by the name of Jesus Christ.
-
He did something for me that I cannot do for myself.
-
There is power in the name of Jesus.
-
Come on, if you know there's power out there to shout Jesus.
-
Come on, do what you're doing right there and give him a 10-second praise.
-
Hallelujah.
-
My friend, I'm telling you, there is power in that name.
-
There's authority in that name, there is healing in that name, there is freedom in that name, there is salvation in that name.
-
There is authority over every work of the devil, and it is found in that name.
-
So here's the disciples.
-
They go out as Jesus sent them out.
-
He said, When you go, don't take anything with you, don't take a knapsack with you, don't take any food with you.
-
The only thing I want you to take with you is my name.
-
And as you go in my name, he says, This I want you to heal the sick, I want you to cleanse the leper, I want you to cast out devils, and I want you to raise the dead.
-
Why?
-
Because you have received freely, and now it's your turn to give freely.
-
And so these guys come back from an excursion and they find Jesus, and they say, Jesus, even the demons are subject to us in your name.
-
And I'm telling you, Jesus tells him something that just lets you and I know that Jesus was a cold dude.
-
I mean, he was bad.
-
Okay.
-
He looks at them and he says this line.
-
I saw Satan fall like lightning.
-
Do you understand this?
-
Jesus wasn't just there when Satan fell.
-
So he's essentially looking at these guys and saying, no duh, he's subject to you in my name.
-
No duh, these demons are subject to you in my name because I took care of their commander in chief.
-
I was there when I when I whooped his tail, when he brought you before the throne and tried to accuse you, I stood up and I said, No, no, no, you can't do this anymore because I'm on the scene and you can no longer, you can no longer have any say in the matter.
-
Watch this now.
-
Revelation, watch, revelation chapter 12, verse 10 and 11.
-
It says this.
-
This is John the Revelator having a revelation of heaven, but also having a revelation of Jesus Christ.
-
Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, now salvation and strength and the kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ have come.
-
Don't mind me.
-
I think this is amazing.
-
John is sitting there and he's catching a revelation.
-
He's seeing a vision.
-
And whenever you and I read this, we say, okay, now the salvation, oh, that's great.
-
Oh, the strength, oh, that's great.
-
Oh, the key, oh, that's great.
-
Now, okay, the power, that's great.
-
No, John was having this open vision, and he realized that salvation wasn't just an ethereal thing.
-
He understood that salvation was a man.
-
He understood that strength was a man.
-
He understood that the kingdom of God manifested in the earth was manifested through a man.
-
He understood that the power that was right there was uh manifested as a man, and the manifestation that man was was named Jesus Christ.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Now salvation and strength in the kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ have come.
-
For the accuser of our brethren who accused them before God day and night has been cast down.
-
Woo! And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
-
So catch this picture right here.
-
There was a time in place, I don't know the logistical realities of what is taking place right here, but there was a time when the enemy of your soul and my soul was before the throne of God, and he brought accusation of you to God.
-
And I put like this in first service.
-
Some of those accusations were legitimate.
-
I was legitimately a heathen.
-
I legitimately like to drink, I legitimately like to sleep around.
-
I legitimately was angry in my heart towards people.
-
I was a legitimate some of y'all ain't ready for that one.
-
You know what I'm saying?
-
I was legitimately rageful in my life.
-
Do you understand?
-
And so the enemy of my soul brought my name before the throne and said, Hey, look at Aaron.
-
He likes to sleep around.
-
Look at Aaron, he likes to drink, look at Aaron, he likes to be violent, he whoops up on people.
-
And you know what happened?
-
Jesus came up on the scene and he said, Let me tell you something, Satan.
-
I'm here now, I'm here now, I'm here now, and every single thing that you try to bring up concerning their name, you gotta get their name up out of your mouth because that's not who they are anymore.
-
I'm on the scene now, and I'm commanding you to be cast out of here.
-
Why?
-
Because there is power in the name of Jesus, there is power in the name of Jesus over every work of the devil.
-
Come on now.
-
Over every work of the devil, Jesus' name has authority over.
-
I saw Satan fall like lightning.
-
Jesus was saying, no duh.
-
These demons were subject to you.
-
I took care of them already.
-
My, my, my, my, my.
-
My God, my God.
-
My God.
-
Watch this.
-
1 Peter chapter 1, verse 19 through 20 says this it was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, the spotless Lamb of God.
-
God chose him as your ransom long before the world began.
-
But now in these last days, he has been revealed for your sake.
-
Jesus.
-
Even before Jesus went to the cross on the earth, he was already the Lamb that was slain.
-
That's why he could walk in authority and power as a man on the earth.
-
Because even before the world was created, Pastor Aaron, how does that work out?
-
I don't even know.
-
But even before the earth was created, Jesus was already slain.
-
Meaning that Jesus' blood was already powerful.
-
Jesus already had a name.
-
Jesus already had the authority.
-
Jesus already had the power.
-
Hallelujah.
-
He was Jesus was essentially saying to his gods, of course they're subject to you.
-
I already dealt with their commander in chief.
-
I put it like this in my notes.
-
If Satan was not able to stay in a heavenly realm, therefore he cannot stay in this earthly realm either.
-
Now bear with me now.
-
I said that first service, and the room got real quiet.
-
Y'all said, like you understand what I was saying, but let me help break it down for you.
-
Is that okay?
-
Can I help you out this morning?
-
I talk to people, they say, Well, you know, the Bible says that that the devil is the God of this world.
-
Yeah, the Bible does say that.
-
But the Bible also says that the earth is the Lord's and everything in it.
-
The Bible says in Matthew chapter 28, after Jesus is resurrected from the dead, after he went to the cross, he bled out, he was stapled to a tree, he was buried in a tomb for three days, he went into the boughs of hell, and he got up from the grave because death and sin and the grave couldn't keep him.
Matthew 28 chapter mention
-
He comes walking around his disciples and he begins to talk to them in Matthew chapter 28, and he says, This all authority has now been given to me.
Matthew 28 chapter mention
-
So, what does that mean?
-
That means that the earth does not belong to the devil anymore.
-
Why?
-
Because the devil has lost his authority in the earth.
-
How do we know that, Pastor Aaron?
-
Because in Matthew chapter 28, there was a transference of authority.
Matthew 28 chapter mention
-
Hallelujah.
-
Thank you, Jesus.
-
Now you don't got to shout on that one.
-
I'm going to shout for you, okay?
-
Think about this.
-
Go here with me for just a moment.
-
And I'm telling you, this is my introduction, okay?
-
I don't preach long.
-
My introductions just are very lengthy.
-
That's all, okay?
-
But think about this in the Garden of Eden.
-
Many of you heard me talk about this, many know this, but some of you in the room don't.
-
So I gotta cover this ground for you.
-
In the Garden of Eden, whenever God created Adam, He said, Adam, I'm giving you authority.
-
Be fruitful, multiply, subdue the earth, fill it, have dominion.
-
Adam, I'm giving you my authority to move and operate in the earth as me.
-
So Adam's working it, he's keeping it.
-
God understands it's not good for man to be alone.
-
And so he says, Let me create a helpmate.
-
Make sense?
-
So out of Adam's side, he creates Eve.
-
So Eve comes out of Adam.
-
That's a whole nother teaching preach right there.
-
Man, I can't.
-
And so, through the course of time, the serpent comes and deceives the woman.
-
And because she ate of the fruit that she wasn't supposed to eat of, watch this now.
-
The authority that was given to Adam was forfeited and then given to the devil.
-
So the devil was able to rule, the devil was able to move, the devil was able to reign on the earth, if you will.
-
Does that make sense?
-
And for thousands of years, he he ran the earth.
-
Then there came a point in time where God said, Enough is enough.
-
Let me tell you right now, for some of you in the room, God is saying over your life, enough is enough.
-
Enough is enough.
-
Come on, that's sickness, enough of that sickness.
-
Come on now.
-
He's saying for some of you that depression, enough is enough.
-
He's saying for some of you that bondage, enough is enough.
-
I'm telling you.
-
I don't know who I'm talking to this morning, but somebody needs to receive this deep down in your spirit today.
-
God is looking at you and He's saying, Enough is enough.
-
So God looks at the course of history, how man forfeited their authority, and God says, Enough is enough.
-
So, what did he do?
-
He sent his only begotten son.
-
And Jesus left his throne.
-
The Bible says, Though he was rich, for our sake he became poor that through his poverty we might become rich.
-
So the king left his heavenly throne to be born in a barn.
-
He lived a perfect life, he died a gruesome death, he was buried in a cold tomb, and three days later he got back up out of the grave.
-
So when he gets up out of the grave, he looks at his disciples and he said, Hey, listen, I know the devil has had the authority for the last several thousand years, but I took it back.
-
I took it back, I took back the authority, I took back the power.
-
Come on, I took it back, I took it back, I took it back.
-
That's what Jesus did.
-
So don't run around your life anymore and think that the bad things are happening are because, oh, I'm about to get in trouble, but that's all right.
-
Who am I gonna get in trouble with?
-
I mean, come on, let's be honest.
-
I met too many people where they just run around and they think, man, this is the will of God for my life.
-
You know, the devil runs the earth, and so this is just my lot in life.
-
I'm gonna take everything that he is that he's throwing at me because you know this is really what God wants from life.
-
No, that sickness is not your lot in life, that heaviness is not your lot in life, that depression is not your lot in life.
-
Lack in poverty is not your lot in life.
-
You want to know why?
-
Because Jesus Christ has a name that's above every other name, that at the mention of that name, every knee must bow and every tongue must confess on in the in heaven, on the earth, and under the earth.
-
So stop walking around thinking that the lot that you're walking in is God ordained for you.
-
No, it's the enemy of your soul operating illegally, sickness illegal, poverty illegal, depression illegal.
-
Huh?
-
Come on now, heaviness illegal, come on, divorce illegal.
-
Come on, you hear what I'm talking about?
-
Confusion illegal, come on, illegal, illegal, illegal, illegal.
-
Come on, someone in the room this morning needs to be reminded that there is power in the name of Jesus, and he has authority over every work of the devil.
-
Isn't that good?
-
My God.
-
So you know what happens?
-
Whenever you use the name of Jesus, he gives you his authority.
-
Thank you, God.
-
Thank you, Lord.
-
Let me get back to my notes here.
-
We got baptism in a little bit.
-
Y'all need to calm down.
-
Let me tell you something.
-
The name of Jesus is not magic.
-
The name of Jesus is not a charm.
-
The name of Jesus isn't some kind of religious password.
-
The name of Jesus Christ is the revelation of a crucified, risen, and exalted King.
-
The name of Jesus isn't a tagline that you throw on the back end of a prayer that you pray just whenever you eat dinner at night.
-
See, come on now.
-
People, people bring the name of Jesus down so low.
-
It's kind of like whenever we say bless you after somebody sneezes.
-
You know what I'm saying?
-
What does that mean, Pastor?
-
Do you understand the power when you bless somebody?
-
That's a whole nother preach.
-
That's a whole nother teach.
-
But because we are ignorant to the reality and the authority of the word of God, someone sneezes and you say bless you.
-
No, let me tell you something.
-
You don't use that word as a term of endearment whenever somebody has a tickle in their little nose.
-
You can release the blessing.
-
So watch this now.
-
Just as we do that with bless you, we do the same thing with the name of Jesus.
-
Okay, Heavenly Father, now I lay me down to sleep.
-
I pray my soul, my soul to keep.
-
I don't even know the prayer because I haven't prayed that in a long time.
-
That pheldemonic whatever.
-
My God.
-
If you listen to the words, it's like, Lord, if I died tonight, I don't pray that stupid foolishness.
-
But whenever you're done praying, you say, in the name of Jesus, like it's the closing of a book in.
-
No.
-
The name of Jesus isn't a tagline that you throw on to the end of a prayer.
-
The name of Jesus, watch this now, is access to delegated authority.
-
Amen.
-
What's delegated authority?
-
I'm glad you asked.
-
Is this all right?
-
Yes, sir.
-
Yes, sir.
-
I got 16 minutes left, so y'all just bear for another 16 minutes.
-
Is that all right?
-
Thank you.
-
We do got all day, right?
-
I mean, y'all took a shower, brush your teeth.
-
You might as well enjoy your fresh shower.
-
You know what I'm talking about?
-
What's delegated authority?
-
Watch this now.
-
I use this illustration before.
-
I used it this morning.
-
But the reason why I use it is because it paints a good picture.
-
You ready for this?
-
If a two-ton car goes speeding down a highway, it's fast, it's breaking the speed limit, 95 miles an hour on the 95 highway.
-
And then there is a man who weighs 200 pounds.
-
If that man tries to stand in front of that car, that man's gonna die.
-
Make sense?
-
Because a 200-pound man standing in front of a 2,000-pound car going 95 miles an hour, man, I I feel like this is a math equation this morning.
-
That man can do nothing in and of himself.
-
But watch this now.
-
If that man is a police officer and that man puts on a name, Las Vegas Metro Police Department, and he's on the side of the road, and when that car's coming, and if he just turns on his lights, this thing in the natural really has no weight or substance to it, that speeding car has to slow down and pull over.
-
The man by himself has no authority, the man by himself has no power.
-
Make sense?
-
But as soon as the man comes under a name, the man begins to have the ability to operate in authority.
-
To where he can look at something that is barreling down the highway that would normally take him out.
-
He can sit there, flash a light, and that thing comes to a screeching halt.
-
It gets pulled over and it gets handled just like that.
-
Unless they have warrants out for their rest, then they gotta go chase him.
-
Ain't nobody in the room ever ran from the police, right?
-
No, no, I don't wave any hands.
-
That was before I was saved, okay?
-
That was before I was saved.
-
Thank you, Jesus, for the name.
-
That's what we call delegated authority, though.
-
That man had access to a greater power.
-
And when he put on the name, he was able to operate in authority and power.
-
The same thing happens when you and I use the name of Jesus Christ.
-
By yourself, you couldn't rebuke a fly.
-
By yourself, you couldn't cast out a cobweb.
-
Now, trust, I tried it one time.
-
You know what I mean?
-
In the name of Aaron, no, nothing happened.
-
Okay?
-
But I'm telling you, whenever you use the name that's above every other name, when you use the name that has all the authority, when you use the name that has all power, I'm telling you, you tap into something that is greater than you, that is greater than anything the devil has assigned to you.
-
You tap into a power and authority that knows no end, and that everything has to bow down low to.
-
I'm telling you right now, some of y'all need to get this deep down in your spirit.
-
There is power in the name of Jesus, and it gives you authority over every work of the devil.
-
Someone say Jesus.
-
Now, someone say it with a backbone.
-
Say Jesus.
-
There you go.
-
My God.
-
There is power in that name.
-
There's authority in that name.
-
There is victory in that name.
-
There is healing in that name.
-
There is deliverance in that name.
-
There is freedom in that name.
-
There is reconciliation in that name.
-
Some of you just need to call on the name Jesus right now.
-
Come on.
-
You came in here bound up, but as you mentioned that name, the freedom of God touches you.
-
Some of you came in here with sickness in your body.
-
You mentioned that name, and freedom becomes part of who you are.
-
Right there.
-
Jesus.
-
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Yes, yes, yes.
-
So watch this.
-
Jesus gave three dimensions of authority in this portion of Luke chapter 10.
Luke 10 chapter mention
-
And each one builds stronger than the other one before.
-
You ready for this?
-
If you're taking notes, you can write this down.
-
The first dimension of authority that Jesus gives us right here.
-
Luke chapter 10 is this He gives us authority to trample.
Luke 10 chapter mention
-
He gives us authority to trample.
-
And what are we trampling?
-
We are trampling over serpents and scorpions.
-
Luke chapter 10 and verse 19 says this I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions.
Luke 10 chapter mention
-
Watch this now.
-
Serpents speak of deception.
-
Remember, I just told you the story of the of the Garden of Eden?
-
What did the serpent do?
-
The serpent came and deceived Eve.
-
The serpent came and lied into the ear of Eve, and he caused her to believe a lie.
-
There's people in the room, even this morning, underneath the sound of my voice, and that serpent has been deceiving you.
-
You've heard the whisper and you've begun to believe what that thing has spoken.
-
You're not good enough.
-
You'll never make it.
-
This is your lot in life.
-
This is God's will for you to be down and never up.
-
My friend, let me tell you right now, Jesus Christ, through the authority of his name, gave you authority to step on that snake.
-
My God.
-
Serpents speak of deception, scorpions speak of torment.
-
In Revelation, I believe it's Revelation chapter 5, it says that there's coming a time whenever scorpions will come and sting somebody, and they'll be tormented for five months because of the poison.
Revelation 5 chapter mention
-
See, some y'all in the room right now, you're tormented in your mind.
-
You're tormented in your heart.
-
You've had something happen to you, and you've just lived it over and over and over, and you think about it over and over and over, and it's become who you are over and over and over and over and over again.
-
You know what that's called torment.
-
That's called the scorpion.
-
Their venom has gotten into you.
-
But you know what Jesus said?
-
Through the authority of his name, that he has given you power and authority to not only trample on the serpent, but to trample on the scorpion as well.
-
Aren't you grateful for that?
-
The enemy works through lies, the enemy works through fear, the enemy works through accusation, the enemy works through intimidation.
-
But my friend, Jesus never told us to negotiate with the snake.
-
Jesus told you and I to trample on them.
-
Jesus told you and I to stomp that sucker out.
-
Huh?
-
Don't believe me.
-
Watch this.
-
Psalms 110, verses 1 through 2.
-
I'm telling you, some see, here, you know why I talk the way I do?
-
Because some of y'all are too cute with the devil.
-
Some of y'all ain't mad enough at that joker.
-
Huh?
-
Well, you know, it's just hereditary.
-
You know, my mom had it, my dad had it, I'm gonna have it too.
-
My kids will have it, and their kids will have it.
-
Let me tell you right now, some of y'all ain't mad enough at that stupid devil.
-
Come on now.
-
He has robbed long enough, he has stolen long enough, he has killed long enough.
-
I came here this morning to remind somebody that there is power in the name of Jesus, and that name has more authority than any devil ever could, and then more than anything the devil could ever have.
-
Don't get cue with that enemy of your soul.
-
Some of y'all ain't mad enough at that joker.
-
Come on now.
-
You want to know why I'm so mad?
-
Because he's after my life, he's after my family, he's after this ministry, he's after my children, he's after my wife, he's after my mind.
-
And I'm telling you right now, that joker don't play fair.
-
So, you know what I gotta do?
-
I gotta stand up straight.
-
I gotta put my shoulders back, and I gotta remind that stupid devil that there is a name that's above every other name, and that name is Jesus.
-
Come on, if you know that name, I'm gonna do what you're doing right there and shout that name.
-
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, come on now.
-
Some of y'all need to stand up and stomp that devil out.
-
Some of y'all need to stand up and put that snake back under your foot.
-
Come on, that depression, that anxiety, that worry, that sickness, that disease.
-
You need to stomp that thing out.
-
My God, my God, my God, my God.
-
Come on, I'm telling you right now, someone needs to stop.
-
He's under your feet.
-
He's under your feet, he's under your feet.
-
There is authority in the name of Jesus Christ.
-
Sit down, sit down, sit down.
-
I'm not done.
-
Psalms one ten says this.
-
The Lord said to my Lord, sit in the place of honor at my right hand.
-
Watch this now, until I humble your enemies.
-
Every enemy of yours is being humbled today, every enemy of your mind, every enemy of your body, every enemy of your spirit is being humbled today.
-
Until I humble your enemies, watch this now, making them a footstool under your feet.
-
Romans chapter 16 and verse 10.
Romans 16 chapter mention
-
Watch this now.
-
I love this scripture verse because it's the antidote to torment.
-
It's the antidote to torment.
-
You ready for this?
-
Romans chapter 16 and verse 20.
Romans 16 chapter mention
-
It says this the God of peace.
-
Pause right there.
-
What's the antidote to torment?
-
Peace.
-
We serve the God who is not a little peace, a little joy.
-
No, he is the God of peace.
-
One of his names is the Prince of Peace.
-
Come on now.
-
The God of peace will soon crush Satan above your head.
-
At your side, behind your back.
-
No, where does it say?
-
The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.
-
Notice where the where the devil belongs.
-
Right here.
-
Right here.
-
Right here.
-
Right here.
-
I'm telling you right now, man, you look ridiculous doing that.
-
Do I?
-
No, you know what?
-
I know who my God is.
-
And I know what it was like to be tormented in my mind and to not have any peace.
-
I know what it was like to be vexed by the devil.
-
I know what it was like to not be able to sleep at night because of worry, because of strife.
-
I know what it was like to be vexed by the enemy, to have this thing hunt after me.
-
But when I call on the name that's above every other name, oh, I'm telling you, the God of peace, He crushed Satan underneath my feet.
-
So you can laugh at me all you want while I dance.
-
You can make fun of me all you want while I give God glory.
-
But I'm telling you, you didn't do it for me, you couldn't do it for me.
-
I met a man by the name of Jesus, and he caused my enemies to become my footstool.
-
Jesus.
-
Not because of who you are, but because of whose name you carry.
-
My God.
-
That's what it says in Luke chapter 10 and verse 19.
Luke 10 chapter mention
-
Now I know some people might not like this, but it's the reality.
-
The Bible says that the gifts in the calling of God are without repentance.
-
That means they do not turn away.
-
So watch this now.
-
The archangel Lucifer was gifted.
-
He has power.
-
Even when he fell, he still had power.
-
So watch, and I don't have time to give you all the scripture references for this, but the devil has power to tempt, he has power to deceive, the devil has power to accuse, the devil has power to oppress.
-
The devil has power to steal.
-
The devil has power to destroy.
-
The devil has power to bind people, blind people from the gospel.
-
But there is a name that is stronger than the devil.
-
There is a power that is more powerful than the devil.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Thank you, God.
-
He still has power, but he has lost his authority.
-
But there is a name that's more powerful than his name.
-
There is a name that's more powerful than temptation.
-
There's a name that's more powerful than deception.
-
There is a name that's more powerful than blinding the unbeliever from the light of the gospel.
-
There's a name that's more powerful than the one who comes to steal, kill, and destroy.
-
There is a name that's above every other name.
-
Philippians chapter 2, verses 8 through 11.
-
You still with me this morning?
-
Hallelujah.
-
Says this, and being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even death of a cross.
-
Therefore, because what I mean, come on now, because he went to the cross, this is why God has done what he has done with Jesus.
-
Therefore, God also has highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every other name.
-
That at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the earth.
-
Now hang on a second now.
-
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
-
What are you talking about right here, Pastor?
-
Did you hear what the what what the writer Philippians just said?
-
Jesus not only has authority in heaven, Jesus has authority in the earth.
-
And Jesus not only has authority in the earth, Jesus has authority over hell as well.
-
So, my friend, I like to put it like this the devil thought, but the devil thought wrong.
-
That's a good word right there.
-
Let me finish reading this scripture verse.
-
I'm so hot right now, I might just dump jump in that baptism tank with y'all.
-
Verse 11.
-
Well, verse 10, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of those in heaven and those on the earth and those under the earth, verse 11.
-
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
-
So even though the devil has power, the devil is still under that name.
-
Every demon has to bow, every principality has to bow.
-
Every power has to bow.
-
Every knee has to bow.
-
Every tongue has to confess.
-
Why?
-
Because the name of Jesus is not one authority among many.
-
The name of Jesus is the highest authority in existence.
-
Thank you, Lord.
-
Thank you, Lord.
-
He is the name above all names.
-
Aren't you?
-
He's the name above all names.
-
And I'm telling you, I've I've been able to call upon that name, and I've been able to see him come through.
-
Time and time and time and time and time and time again.
-
When I needed healing, I called upon the name and he healed me.
-
When I needed freedom, I called upon the name and he freed me.
-
My God, when I needed peace, I called upon the name and he gave me peace.
-
My God, when I need reconciliation, I called upon the name and he gave me reconciliation.
-
He is the name above all the names.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Jesus, the power of the name of Jesus, has all authority over all the power of the enemy.
-
Some of you in the room this morning have given too much credit to the devil.
-
You talk about him like he's your equal.
-
My friend, let me remind you this morning, he is not your equal.
-
And he's certainly not Jesus' equal either.
-
The devil is not over your head.
-
He's not eye to eye.
-
The devil is still under your feet.
-
Why?
-
Because he has been given a name.
-
Jesus has been given a name that's above every other name.
-
It has all authority in heaven.
-
It has all authority on the earth.
-
It has all authority under the earth.
-
My God, my God, that at the mention of the name Jesus Christ, every knee must bow and every tongue must confess that He and He alone is Lord.
-
My God.
-
Y'all getting some out of today?
-
The last dimension of authority.
-
Rochelle, if you'll come, please.
-
The last dimension of authority that was mentioned here in Luke chapter 10.
Luke 10 chapter mention
-
Jesus said, I give you authority to trample serpents and scorpions.
-
I give you authority over every power of the enemy.
-
And then Jesus says this, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
-
Nothing by any means shall hurt you.
-
This does not mean believers never face battles.
-
It means that the battles that we face do not have the final word.
-
Jesus wasn't promising the absence of attacks, he was promising the un the impossibility of defeat.
-
Some of you here this morning, you hear nothing shall hurt you, but you think, but I've been hurt.
-
I've been attacked, I've been betrayed, I've been lied about, I've been disappointed, I've suffered loss, I've been under pressure.
-
Jesus never said pressure wouldn't come.
-
He said destruction wouldn't win.
-
My friend, understand this.
-
I've said this many times.
-
You've heard this, I'm going to say it again.
-
Attack is normal, but it is completely unscriptural for you to live defeated.
-
Can I say it again?
-
Attack is normal, but it is unscriptural for you to live defeated.
-
Second Corinthians chapter four, verses eight through nine.
-
Paul was writing to the Corinthian church and he said this we are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed.
-
We are perplexed, but not in despair.
-
Persecuted, but not forsaken.
-
Struck down, but not destroyed.
-
Paul said, I've been hard pressed on every side.
-
I know what it's like to have pressure, but I've never been crushed to the point of destruction.
-
I've been perplexed.
-
You know what perplex means?
-
Saying, What in the world is going on?
-
I can't tell up from down, left from right.
-
We know what Paul said.
-
I've been perplexed, but I have not been in despair.
-
Why was he not in despair?
-
Because he understood that the name of Jesus Christ has all authority to bring him out of every attack of the enemy.
-
The name of Jesus means I have power to get back up.
-
I want you to catch this picture.
-
Jesus wants to go to new territories, new regions.
-
We read it just a moment ago.
-
He sends out his disciples.
-
Don't take anything with you, except my name.
-
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the leper, cast out devils.
-
Freely you have received, now freely give.
-
So here's his disciples.
-
They go out full of anticipation.
-
He told us to heal the sick.
-
Let's find somebody and heal them.
-
So they find somebody.
-
Now, if it was me, I'd start small.
-
You got sinus problems.
-
That's just me, okay.
-
They lay hands on somebody, they get healed.
-
Their faith begins to rise.
-
And this thing really works.
-
The name really works.
-
They pray for somebody else, but this time they don't have an arm.
-
In the name of Jesus, be healed.
-
And the arm pops out.
-
This is amazing.
-
It's really working, it's really happening.
-
Jesus said, not just to heal the sick, He said to cleanse the leper.
-
Let's find somebody with leprosy.
-
We're gonna have to go out of town for that.
-
You know that, right?
-
Let's go find somebody.
-
So they find somebody and they declare the name over them.
-
And that skin disease that caused limbs to fall off and numbness to go around the entire body before their very eyes begins to change and metamorphosize before them.
-
And where there was once crusty, nasty skin, it's fresh, glowing epidermises.
-
You like that scientific name?
-
I know some stuff.
-
Along the way, they find somebody who's dead.
-
They say, In the name of Jesus, arise.
-
They come back from the dead, heal the sick, cleanse the leopard, raise the dead, cast out devils.
-
So this mission work is going really well, right?
-
Then all of a sudden, they encounter a demonic attack.
-
I know no one else has ever been there before.
-
I've been there.
-
Things are smooth, it's really working.
-
God is coming through.
-
Look at this, but then all of a sudden, something happens straight from the depth of hell.
-
You hear me?
-
Maybe it's never happened to you, it's happened to me many times.
-
And they remembered the words of Jesus Christ, healed the sick, cleanse the leopard, raised the dead, and cast out the devils.
-
In the name of Jesus, every demonic force you have to go.
-
They come running back to Jesus, Jesus, it really works.
-
Even the demons are subject to us in your name.
-
I've given you authority to trample over serpents, trample over scorpions, I've given you authority over all the power of the enemy.
-
And guys, let me tell you something: nothing's gonna hurt you.
-
And the original language, that word hurt right there.
-
If you do a word study on it, the picture that it gives is that of a limb that is used for a bow and arrow.
-
So with a bow, you have to apply pressure in order for it to actually work and to accomplish what it's been made to accomplish.
-
So when Jesus looked at his guys and said, Nothing's gonna hurt you, he was saying, guys, you might bend, but you're not gonna break.
-
You might face pressure, but that pressure is not gonna be your end.
-
You might face some things in your life that put you in an uncomfortable place, but because of the authority of my name, nothing is going to harm you, my friend.
-
There is power in the name of Jesus over every work of the devil, and so even if you're in a place right now and it's a bending place, even if you're in a place right now and it's a pressing place, I want to let you know today you might bend, but you will not break.
